A single case of asbestosis occurring in a cement-asbestos worker is described, this being the first case clinically, functionally and radiologically confirmed and described in the Brazilian scientific litterature. Due to the increasing use of asbestos by Brazilian industry, attention is drawn to the possibility of cases like this passing undiagnosed unless the possibility of its occurrence is considered.
