ABSTRACT Regarding the Brazilian textile industry, part of the northeast region stands out as the second-largest textile manufacturing hub in the country. Despite its importance, this industrial activity has been bringing relevant environmental concerns regarding the disposal of textile effluents, especially from industrial laundries. This waste contains many chemicals and among them are various types of heavy metals. To assess environmental risks associated with heavy metals, pollutant transfer needs to be investigated. This study evaluated the retention and mobility of heavy metals Cd and Cu in alluvial soil, through soil column tests. The up-flow column percolation tests were performed using a nonreactive tracer (KBr) at a concentration of 0.3 mol L-1 and injecting a metallic solution containing Cu and Cd at 100 and 60 mg L-1, respectively. The injection flow rate was 0.75 mL min-1. The hydro-dispersive parameters were obtained by modeling the observed breakthrough curves with the convection-dispersion equation (CDE) and the two-region model, also referred to as the MIM (Mobile-IMmobile waters) model. The transport parameters were obtained from the two-site model (TSS). All elution curves were fitted to the models with the CXTFIT 2.0 program. The Two-Site Sorption Model was the best for the case studied, with R2 of 0.985 and 0.995 for Cu and Cd, respectively. The values of R were considerably higher than the unit, presenting an average of 2.138 for Cu and 1.907 for Cd. This indicates a delay of these contaminants when leaving the column, which is caused by the interaction of these chemical compounds with the soil. The values obtained for parameter D were 3.469 for Cu and 5.205 for Cd. Thus, the metals in this study present a risk of groundwater contamination for the local alluvial aquifers. The main reason for that is the physicochemical features of the soil, such as high sand content (85 %) and low OM content (2.1 %). The results also indicated greater retention and less mobility for Cu than for Cd, pointing to a greater risk for Cd.

ABSTRACT Aim: Our objective was to investigate whether there is an interaction between the COVID-19 pandemic, demographic characteristics and erectile/sexual (E/S) function in individuals from Latin America. Materials and Methods: Cross-sectional study which included Latin American individuals over 18 years old, recruited through social media and interviewed between July and August 2020 by online surveys (Google Forms) in Portuguese and Spanish languages. The E/S function was evaluated through the following questionnaires: Simplified International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF-5) and Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI); while post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic was assessed through the Impact of Event Scale Revised (IES-R). The data was analyzed by T Student, bivariate and multivariate logistic regression, with significance determined by the Wald test (p<0.05), using the R software v4.0. Results: Out of the 2016 individuals that responded to the survey, 1986 were included and 743 of them presented E/S dysfunction. PTSD occurrence was greater among people with E/S dysfunction when compared to those without E/S dysfunction, in the total score (males: IES-R=26.54[±19.17] and females: IES-R=35.92[±19.25]) and also in the three domains. It was found that those who do not live with a partner were 74% more likely to have E/S dysfunction, but living with a partner during the pandemic had a greater impact on E/S function. Conclusion: A negative interaction between the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and erectile/sexual function of the Latin American population was observed, with greater implications among the individuals who live with their partners.

Resumo: A substituição das paisagens naturais por ambientes antropizados tem levado à perda de habitat e, consequentemente, ao declínio populacional e extinção de muitas espécies. Várias estratégias como a criação de Unidades de Conservação (UCs) e o pagamento de serviços ecossistêmicos têm sido adotadas para mitigar as consequências da crise de biodiversidade. Em Rio Verde, estado de Goiás, foi estabelecido um Programa Produtores de Água (PPA) que prevê o pagamento de serviços ecossistêmicos pela manutenção da vegetação ripária na região do ribeirão Abobora que abastece a cidade. Diante da ausência de estudos de diagnóstico ambiental da região, o presente estudo contribui para reduzir algumas lacunas de conhecimento, através da: i) caracterização da paisagem na área deste PPA, ii) caracterização das espécies da fauna (anfíbios, aves, peixes e mamíferos terrestres de médio e grande porte) e flora lenhosa que ocorrem neste local, iii) comparação da diversidade de espécies (fauna e flora) encontrada na área de estudo com aquela observada na rede de áreas protegidas do Cerrado. Nossos resultados revelam baixo índice de cobertura vegetal nativa (~21% da área total), mas por outro lado, registramos 300 espécies, sendo 20 de anfíbios anuros, 100 aves, 10 peixes, 16 mamíferos terrestres (médio e grande porte) e 154 plantas lenhosas. A nossa amostragem compreende espécies que são consideradas endêmicas do Cerrado (p.ex. Anfíbio - Barycholos terntezi e Mamífero - Callithrix penicillata), ameaçadas de extinção (p.ex. Mamíferos - Herpailurus yagouaroundi, Myrmecophaga tridactyla e Tapirus terrestris) ou exótica invasora (Mamífero - Sus scrofa). Os resultados apresentados no presente estudo são relevantes e podem auxiliar na proposição de ações de manejo no âmbito deste importante programa de pagamento por serviços ambientais.

Abstract: The replacement of natural landscapes by anthropic environments has led to habitat loss and consequently, to the decline and extinction of many species populations. Several strategies, such as the creation of protected areas (PAs) and payment for ecosystem services have been adopted to mitigate the consequences of this biodiversity crisis. In Rio Verde, Goiás, Brazil, a Water Producer Program (WPP) was established, which provides payment for ecosystem services for the maintenance of riparian vegetation in the region of the Ribeirão Abóbora, a river which supplies the city and metropolitan area. In the absence of environmental diagnostic studies in the region, this present study contributes to reducing some knowledge gaps, through the: (i) characterization of the landscape in the WPP area, (ii) characterization of species of fauna (amphibians, birds, fish, and medium and large terrestrial mammals) and woody flora that occur in this area, and (iii) comparison of species diversity (fauna and flora) found in our study area with the diversity observed in the Cerrado protected area network. Our results reveal a low native vegetation cover (~21% of total area), but we recorded 300 total species: 20 species of anuran amphibians, 100 birds, 10 fish, 16 terrestrial mammals (medium and large), and 154 woody plants. Our sample comprises species considered endemic to the Cerrado (e.g., Anuran - Barycholos terntezi and Mammal - Callithrix penicillata), threatened species (e.g., Mammals - Herpailurus yagouaroundi, Myrmecophaga tridactyla and Tapirus terrestris), and exotic invasive species (Mammal - Sus scrofa). The results presented in this study are relevant and may help in the proposal of management actions within the scope of this important program of payment for environmental services.

RESUMO Objetivo: avaliar a completude e a tendência de não completude dos registros de enfermeiros no cuidado às pessoas com tuberculose acompanhadas na Atenção Primária à Saúde. Método: estudo descritivo, documental, retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa, desenvolvido nas Unidades de Saúde da Família de um município do estado da Paraíba. Realizou-se entre julho e setembro de 2020. Delineou-se uma amostra de 190 prontuários, selecionados por amostragem em duas etapas: proporcional e probabilística sistemática. Os dados coletados foram analisados mediante o software R, admitindo-se nível de significância de 5%. Empregou-se estatística descritiva, Diagrama de Pareto e análise de tendência. Resultados: observou-se classificação de completude predominantemente “muito ruim” (76,9%), com maior percentual de não completude para os indicadores: preconceito (91,1%), achados propedêuticos (85,2%), absenteísmo em consultas (80,8%), histórico familiar de tuberculose (74,7%) e aspectos psicossociais. Apresentaram tendência de não completude significante crescente: estilo e condições de vida (p=0,0088) e exame físico (p=0,0352). O único indicador com tendência de não completude significativa decrescente foi Preconceito (p=0,0077). Conclusão: constatou-se completude insatisfatória e tendência predominantemente crescente para não completude dos registros, assinalando pontos a serem priorizados nas intervenções de saúde pública em razão de sua importância na produção de indicadores no controle da tuberculose na Atenção Primária à Saúde que podem influenciar a tomada de decisão.

ABSTRACT Objective: to assess the completeness and tendency of non-completeness of the records of nurses in the care of people with tuberculosis followed up in Primary Health Care. Method: this is a descriptive, documentary, retrospective study, with quantitative approach, developed in family health units of a municipality in the state of Paraíba. It took place between July and September 2020. A sample of 190 medical records was delineated, selected by sampling in two stages: proportionality and systematic probabilistics. The collected data were analyzed using the R software, assuming a significance level of 5%. Descriptive statistics, Pareto Chart and trend analysis were used. Results: completeness classification was predominantly “very bad” (76.9%), with a higher percentage of non-completion for the indicators: prejudice (91.1%), preliminary findings (85.2%), absenteeism in consultations (80.8%), family history of tuberculosis (74.7%) and psychosocial aspects. They showed a trend of significant non-completion ascending: lifestyle and conditions of life (p=0.0088) and physical examination (p=0.0352). The only indicator with a trend of significant non-completion descending was Prejudice (p=0.0077). Conclusion: unsatisfactory completeness and a predominantly ascending trend towards non-completion of records was found, indicating points to be prioritized in public health interventions due to their importance in the production of indicators in tuberculosis management in Primary Health Care that can influence decision-making.

RESUMEN Objetivo: evaluar la completitud y la tendencia de incompletitud de los registros de enfermeras en la atención de personas con tuberculosis seguidas en Atención Primaria de Salud. Método: ecisi ecisions s, documental, ecisions s e, con enfoque cuantitativo, desarrollado en las Unidades de Salud de la Familia de un municipio del estado de Paraíba. Tuvo lugar entre julio y septiembre de 2020. Se diseñó una muestra de 190 historias clínicas, seleccionadas por muestreo en dos etapas: proporcional y probabilística sistemática. Los datos recopilados se analizaron utilizando el software R, asumiendo un nivel de significancia del 5%. Se ecisio estadística ecisions s, Diagrama de Pareto y análisis de tendencias. Resultados: hubo una clasificación predominantemente “muy mala” de completitud (76,9%), con un mayor porcentaje de incumplimiento de los indicadores: prejuicio (91,1%), hallazgos diagnósticos (85,2%), absentismo en las citas (80,8%), ecisions s ecisions de tuberculosis (74,7%) y aspectos psicosociales. Mostraron una tendencia de incumplimiento creciente: estilo de vida y condiciones de vida (p=0,0088) y exploración física (p=0,0352). El único indicador con una tendencia a la disminución de los incumplimientos significativos fue Prejuicio (p=0,0077). Conclusión: se encontró una exhaustividad insatisfactoria y una tendencia predominantemente creciente hacia la no cumplimentación de registros, lo que indica puntos a priorizar en las intervenciones de salud pública por su importancia en la producción de indicadores en el control de la tuberculosis en Atención Primaria de Salud que pueden influir en la toma de ecisions.

Abstract: This study assessed the ability of XP-endo Finisher R (FKG, La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland) to remove filling remnants from curved mesiobuccal canals of maxillary molars, using the passive ultrasonic irrigation (PUI) technique as a comparison. Twenty-four curved main mesiobuccal canals (MB1) of maxillary molars were instrumented with Wave One (#25/07) and filled with gutta-percha points and AH Plus Sealer. Samples were then re-treated with a standardized protocol with Wave One (#35/06) as the master apical file. Micro-CT scans measured baseline volume of remaining filling material (in mm3). Samples were divided into two groups (n = 12) according to the supplementary cleaning approach: (PUI) or XP-endo Finisher R. Statistics compared baseline and final volume of filling material (within-group); and the percentage of filling material reduction (between-group). Mean baseline volumes, final volumes, and percentages of reduction (%) of filling material for XP-endo Finisher R and PUI were respectively: 0.060 mm3, 0.042 mm3, and 31.28%; and 0.064 mm3, 0.054 mm3, and 16.57%. Both tested protocols reduced the amount of filling material (p < 0.05). XP-endo Finisher R had higher percentage of reduction as compared to PUI (p < 0.05). XP-endo Finisher R and PUI used as supplementary cleaning protocols during re-treatment improved the removal of root filling material in curved canals; but XP-endo Finisher R was approximately twice more efficient. The complete filling material removal during re-treatment procedures is still a challenge. Supplementary cleaning protocols may help to remove the remaining material after the complete mechanical preparation of curved canals. XP-endo Finisher R was approximately twice more efficient than PUI.

Abstract: The FACE-Q SFAOS is an instrument developed for esthetic facial procedures and has been validated in patients undergoing rhinoplasty. It consists of ten items that assess the current perception of facial appearance regarding symmetry, harmony, proportion, freshness or vitality, and self-perception of appearance; these items are perhaps important to guide demands in orofacial harmonization (OFH). We aimed to validate the FACE-Q SFAOS scale among professionals working with OFH and verify its acceptance for use in clinical practice. Altogether, 25 OFH specialists were included to evaluate the FACE-Q SFAOS scale and the new technology acceptability model (TAM). Internal validity was measured using Cronbach's α coefficient. Both scales were associated with clinical experience and perceived usefulness using Spearman's correlation and Fisher's exact or chi-square tests (SPSS 20.0, p < 0.05). The FACE-Q SFAOS (α = 0.927) and TAM (α = 0.941) scales demonstrated good internal validity, and most professionals demonstrated good acceptance (TAM >70 = 64%). The mean FACE-Q SFAOS and TAM scores were 64.00±17.03 and 74.60±20.66, respectively. Practitioners with more than two years of experience (p=0.032) who believed the scale was useful for lip filler evaluation (p = 0.017) demonstrated greater acceptance. The number of indications on the scale was directly correlated with higher levels of acceptance (p = 0.002, r = 0.594). Thus, the FACE-Q SFAOS scale has good reproducibility and acceptance among OFH specialists; however, acceptability was shown to be dependent on perceived usability.

Resumo: A técnica de análise de imagens multiespectrais para detecção da fluorescência de clorofila (FC) em sementes de soja foi estudada com o objetivo de avaliar a relação entre os sinais da FC e o seu potencial fisiológico. Para dois cultivares, BMX Desafio RR 8473 RSF e 96R10 IPRO, foram utilizados oito tratamentos correspondendo a 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12% e 14% de sementes esverdeadas, os quais foram submetidos a diferentes testes de qualidade. Inicialmente, a FC das sementes foi determinada utilizando-se espectros de 660 nm e 730 nm e com as mesmas sementes foram realizados os testes de germinação, condutividade elétrica, envelhecimento acelerado com solução saturada de NaCl, tetrazólio e análise computadorizada de imagens de plântulas (Vigor-S). Foi utilizado o delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com as repetições de cada tratamento. Com o software R®, os dados dos testes de germinação, de vigor e de FC das sementes foram submetidos à análise de variância (ANOVA) e as médias agrupadas pelo teste de Skott-Knott (p ≤ 0,05). Os coeficientes de correlação linear de Pearson (r) foram calculados para todas as combinações entre as avaliações com significância dos valores r, determinados pelo teste t (p ≤ 0,05) e procedeu-se a análise multivariada de componentes principais. Aumentos proporcionais de sementes esverdeadas contribuem para o aumento nos sinais de fluorescências de clorofila e tem correlação negativa com a qualidade fisiológica das sementes, de modo que níveis acima de 4% de sementes esverdeadas nas amostras resultam em perdas acentuadas no potencial fisiológico. Portanto, a fluorescência de clorofila detectada por intermédio de imagens multiespectrais tem relação inversa com o potencial fisiológico de sementes de soja.

Abstract: The multispectral image analysis technique to detect chlorophyll fluorescence (CF) in soybean seeds was studied to assess the relationship between CF signals and seed physiological potential. Eight treatments, corresponding to 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, 10%, 12%, and 14% green seeds, were used on two cultivars, BMX Desafio RR 8473 RSF and 96R10 IPRO, which passed through different seed quality tests. Initially, the CF of the seeds was determined using 660 nm and 730 nm spectra, and then the germination, electrical conductivity, accelerated aging with saturated NaCl solution, tetrazolium, and computerized seedling image analysis (Vigor-S) tests were performed on the same seeds. A completely randomized design was used, as well as replications of each treatment. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed on the data from germination, vigor, and CF tests using the R® software, and the means were grouped by the Scott-Knott test (p ≤ 0.05). Pearson’s linear correlation coefficients (r) were calculated for all combinations among the evaluations with significance of the r values determined by the t-test (p ≤ 0.05), and multivariate analysis of the principal components was performed. Proportional increases in green seeds contribute to an increase in chlorophyll fluorescence signals and have a negative correlation with seed physiological quality; levels above 4% green seeds in the samples result in marked losses in physiological potential. Therefore, the chlorophyll fluorescence detected through multispectral images is inversely related to the physiological potential of soybean seeds.

RESUMO Introdução: o câncer de mama é a neoplasia maligna mais comum em mulheres no mundo. A cirurgia tem sido o tratamento tradicional e, geralmente consiste em mastectomia com linfadenectomia, podendo causar dor pós-operatória. Por isso, buscamos estudar técnicas anestésicas regionais que possam minimizar esse efeito, como o bloqueio interpeitoral (PEC). Métodos: estudo controlado randomizado com 82 pacientes com câncer de mama submetidos à mastectomia com linfadenectomia de Janeiro de 2020 a Outubro de 2021, em hospital oncológico. Intervenções: dois grupos randomizados (controle - anestesia geral exclusiva e grupo PECS - anestesia geral e bloqueio PEC com levobupivacaína/ropivacaína). Aplicou-se um questionário com Escala Visual Analógica da dor 24h pós-cirurgia. Utilizamos os testes de Shapiro-Wilk, Mann-Whitney e Quiquadrado e analisamos os dados em R versão 4.0.0. Estudo registrado em Ensaios Clínicos Brasileiros (REBec). Resultados: no grupo PEC, 50% não apresentava dor 24 horas após a cirurgia enquanto no grupo controle, 42,86% negava quadro álgico. A maioria que apresentou dor classificou-a como dor leve (EVA de 1 a 3) - (42,50%) grupo PEC e (40,48%) controle (p=0,28). Apenas 17,50% consumiram opioides no grupo PEC, semelhante ao grupo controle com 21,43%. (p=0,65), (17,50%) grupo PEC e (21,43%) grupo controle (p=0,65). Houve baixo índice de complicações como PONV (náuseas, vômitos, cefaleia) em ambos os grupos. Na análise de subgrupo, não houve diferença estatística entre os grupos que usaram Levobupivacaína ou Ropivacaína quanto a dor pós-operatória e o consumo de opioides. Discussão: o grupo estudado apresentou baixa taxa de dor no pós-operatório e isso influenciou na análise estatística. Não houve diferença estatística quanto a dor pós-operatória entre grupos. Conclusão: não foi possível demonstrar melhores resultados com a associação do bloqueio PEC com analgesia intravenosa total. São necessários novos estudos para avaliar a eficácia do bloqueio anestésico no intraoperatório e pós-operatório.

ABSTRACT Objective: Breast cancer is the most common malignant neoplasm in women worldwide. Surgery has been traditional treatment and, generally, it´s mastectomy with lymphadenectomy, that can causes postoperative pain. Therefore, we seek to study regional anesthesic techniques that can minimize this effect, such as the interpectoral block (PECS). Methods: randomized controlled study with 82 patients with breast cancer who underwent mastectomy with lymphadenectomy from January 2020 to October 2021 in oncology hospital. Interventions: two randomized groups (control - exclusive general anesthesia and PECS group - received PECS block with levobupivacaine/ropivacaine and general anesthesia). We applied a questionnaire with Numeric Rating Scale for pain 24h after surgery. We used Shapiro-Wilk, Mann-Whitney and Chi-square tests, and analyzed the data in R version 4.0.0 (ReBEC). Results: in the PECS group, 50% were pain-free 24h after surgery and in the control group it was 42.86%. The majority who presented pain classified it as mild pain (VAS from 1 to 3) - (42.50%) PECS group and (40.48%) control group (p=0.28). Only 17.50% consumed opioids in the PECS group, similar to the control group with 21.43%. (p=0.65). There was a low rate of complications such as PONV in both groups. In the subgroup analysis, there was no statistical difference between the groups that used levobupivacaine or ropivacaine regarding postoperative pain and opioid consumption. Discussion: the studied group had a low rate of pain in the postoperative period and it influenced the statistical analysis. There wasn´t difference in postoperative pain in groups. Conclusion: was not possible to demonstrate better results with the association of the PECS block with total intravenous analgesia. Need further studies to assess the efficacy of the nerve block.

A fundamental fact about mutualisms is they are often explored by species that explore resources and services provided by individuals without providing any benefit. The role of these cheaters on the evolutionary dynamics of mutualisms has long been recognized, but cheaters may not only affect the species they explore. Because mutualisms form networks that often involve dozens to hundreds of species in a given site, indirect effects generated by cheaters may cascade through the network, reshaping trait evolution. Here, we study how harboring cheating interactions can influence coevolution in mutualistic networks. We combine a coevolutionary model, data on empirical networks of mutualisms, and numerical simulations to show that the higher frequency of cheating interactions can lead to the formation of groups of species phenotypically similar to each other but distinct from other groups of species, leading to higher trait disparity. The clustered trait patterns generated by cheaters, in turn, change the patterns of interaction in simulated networks, fostering the formation of modules of interacting species. Our results indicate that cheaters of mutualisms can contribute to generate phenotypic clusters in mutualisms, counteracting selection for convergence imposed by mutualistic patterns, and favoring the emergence of modules of interacting species.

Un hecho fundamental sobre los mutualismos es que muchas veces son explorados por especies que exploran recursos y servicios proporcionados por individuos sin proporcionar ningún beneficio. El papel de estos tramposos en la dinámica evolutiva de los mutualismos se ha reconocido desde hace mucho tiempo, pero es posible que los tramposos no solo afecten a las especies que exploran. Debido a que los mutualismos forman redes que muchas veces involucran decenas a cientos de especies en un sitio determinado, los efectos indirectos generados por los tramposos pueden caer en cascada a través de la red, remodelando la evolución de los rasgos. Aquí, estudiamos cómo albergar interacciones de engaño puede influir en la coevolución en redes mutualistas. Combinamos un modelo coevolutivo, datos sobre redes empíricas de mutualismos y simulaciones numéricas para mostrar que la mayor frecuencia de interacciones engañosas puede conducir a la formación de grupos de especies fenotípicamente similares entre sí pero distintos de otros grupos de especies, lo que conduce a mayores disparidad de rasgos. Los patrones de rasgos agrupados generados por los tramposos, a su vez, cambian los patrones de interacción en redes simuladas, fomentando la formación de módulos de especies que interactúan. Nuestros resultados indican que los tramposos de los mutualismos pueden contribuir a generar agrupaciones fenotípicas en mutualismos, contrarrestando la selección por convergencia impuesta por patrones mutualistas y favoreciendo la aparición de módulos de especies interactuantes.

Um fato fundamental sobre os mutualismos é que eles são frequentemente explorados por espécies que exploram recursos e serviços fornecidos por indivíduos sem fornecer qualquer benefício. O papel desses trapaceiros na dinâmica evolutiva dos mutualismos foi reconhecido há muito tempo, mas os trapaceiros podem não apenas afetar as espécies que exploram. Como os mutualismos formam redes que geralmente envolvem dezenas a centenas de espécies em um determinado local, os efeitos indiretos gerados por trapaceiros podem se espalhar pela rede, remodelando a evolução de características. Aqui, estudamos como considerar interações de trapaça pode influenciar a coevolução em redes mutualísticas. Combinamos um modelo coevolucionário, dados sobre redes empíricas de mutualismos e simulações numéricas para mostrar que a maior frequência de interações de trapaça pode levar à formação de grupos de espécies fenotipicamente semelhantes entre si, mas distintos de outros grupos de espécies, levando a disparidade de traço. Os padrões de características agrupados gerados por trapaceiros, por sua vez, alteram os padrões de interação em redes simuladas, promovendo a formação de módulos de espécies em interação. Nossos resultados indicam que trapaceiros de mutualismos podem contribuir para gerar grupos fenotípicos em mutualismos, contrariando a seleção para convergência imposta por padrões mutualísticos e favorecendo o surgimento de módulos de espécies interagentes.

SUMMARY: This study evaluates the effect of probiotics Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bacillus subtilis on production parameters and intestinal histomorphology of broilers of 45 days of age. Eleven 45-day-old Ross 500 broilers were used and classified as control group (CG) (n = 5) or supplemented with probiotics group (n = 8). Histopathological evaluation of duodenum, ileum, and jejunum was performed. The area of the villi height, base and apex were evaluated as well as the size and number of crypts. In addition, mucus production was quantified in different portions of the small intestine. The villi present duodenum of broilers supplemented with probiotics had a greater area (p = 0.0127), a greater basal width (p = 0.0049) and a greater apical width (p = 0.0024), as well as a greater crypt area (p = 0.0189). Significantly higher levels of mucus were noted in the duodenum (p = 0.0480) and jejunum (p = 0.0480) of broilers supplemented with probiotics. We suggest that probiotic supplementation improve the intestinal nutrients absorption.

RESUMEN: Este estudio evalúa el efecto del uso de probióticos como: Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bacillus subtilis en parámetros productivos e histomorfologia intestinal de pollos de engorde de 45 días de edad. Fueron usados 11, los cuales fueron clasificados en grupo control (CG) (n = 5) y grupo suplementado con probióticos (PG) (n = 8). Fue realizado análisis histopatológico de secciones de duodeno, íleon y yeyuno. Fue evaluado ancho, altura y área del ápice de la vellosidad, área y número de criptas. Además, fue estimada la producción de moco en los diferentes segmentos del intestino delgado. Fue observada mayor área de la vellosidad en duodeno, PG (p = 0.0127), ancho basal mayor en PG (p = 0.0049) ancho apical mayor en PG (p = 0.0024), así como mayor área de criptas en PG (p = 0.0189). No fueron encontradas diferencias significativas respecto a los segmentos de yeyuno e íleon. PG presentó mayor producción de moco en duodeno (p = 0.0480) y en yeyuno (p = 0.0480). Concluimos que la suplementación con probióticos en pollos de engorde genera cambios en la histomorfologia intestinal, evidenciables en áreas apicales y basales de las vellosidades intestinales. Resumo O objetivo deste artigo é investigar a relação da violência física entre parceiros íntimos (VFPI) e a oferta de leite materno (LM), os substitutos do leite materno (SLM) e o uso de mamadeiras entre crianças entre 12 e 15 meses. Estudo transversal com mães em unidades de saúde do município do Rio de Janeiro, realizado entre junho de 2005 e dezembro de 2009. A VFPI foi identificada pela versão brasileira da Conflict Tactics Scales 1- Form R e as práticas de alimentação foram identificadas por recordatório de 24 horas. As associações foram verificadas por regressão logística mediante estimativas de razão de chances (RC) e intervalos de confiança de 95%. O leite materno foi ofertado a 58,5% das crianças e os substitutos do leite materno a 88,5%, e 70,5% das crianças usavam mamadeira. A violência física foi observada em 26,7% dos casais. Em lares onde os casais se agridem fisicamente há uma maior chance de não ofertar leite materno, maior chance de ofertar substitutos do leite materno e de usar mamadeira comparado aos lares onde não existe violência física. Os resultados chamam atenção para a necessidade de se investigar as relações intrafamiliares em casos que são identificadas práticas inadequadas de aleitamento, e de capacitar os profissionais de saúde para apoiar as famílias em situações de conflito.

Abstract This article aims to investigate the relationship between intimate partner physical violence (IPPV) and breastfeeding (BF), use of breastmilk substitutes (BMS) and bottle-feeding among children aged 12 to 15 months. This is a cross-sectional study with mothers in primary care facilities of the city of Rio de Janeiro. IPPV was identified by the Brazilian version of the Conflict Tactics Scales 1-Form R and feeding practices were identified by a 24-hour Dietary Recall. Associations were verified by logistic regression with odds ratio (OR) estimates and 95% confidence intervals. BF was offered to 58.5% of the children and BMS to 88.5%. Also, 70.5% of the children used a baby bottle. Physical violence was observed in 26.7% of couples. Households where couples physically abuse each other are more likely to not breastfeed (OR=2.14, p-value=0.030), to use breastmilk substitutes (OR=5.15, p-value=0.03) and bottle-feed (OR=2.71; p-value=0.01), when compared to households without physical violence. The results highlight the need to investigate intrafamily relationships in cases where inadequate breastfeeding practices are identified, and to enable health professionals to support families in conflict situations.

Objective: To unveil the content of comments in official posts calling from the Ministry of Helth, calling for health professionals to confront COVID-19.Method: Qualitative study, carried out with 2823 comments, obtained from the virtual access to the Ministry of Health's social networks on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. For textual corpus processing, used or software Interface R analyzes Multidimensional Texts and Questionnaires and performs a multivariate analysis by Descending Hierarchical Classification.Results: Five categories were included: difficulties in the training stages, aspects involved in the summons, working conditions without facing the pandemic, mandatory capacity x possible summons, visibility and valorization of dentistry in combating the pandemic” COVID-19.Conclusion: Comments contemplated professionals or access to training, remuneration and working conditions, mandatory training, possibility of calling for action on the front line without fighting COVID-19 and claiming greater appreciation of dentistry.

Objetivo: Develar el contenido de los comentarios em las publicaciones oficiales del Ministerio de Salud, llamando a los profesionales de la salud a enfrentar el COVID-19.Método: Estudio cualitativo, realizado con 2823 comentarios, obtenido del acceso virtual a las redes sociales del Ministerio de Salud en Facebook, Instagram y Twitter. Para el procesamiento del corpus textual, la interfaz utilizada o el software R analiza textos y cuestionarios multidimensionales y realiza un análisis multivariado mediante clasificación jerárquica descendente.Resultados: Se incluyeron cinco categorías: dificultades en las etapas de capacitación, aspectos involucrados en la convocatoria, condiciones de trabajo sin enfrentar la pandemia, capacidad obligatoria x posible convocatoria, visibilidad y valorización de la odontología para combatir la pandemia. COVID-19.Conclusión: Comentarios contemplados o acceso a capacitación, remuneración y condiciones de trabajo, capacitación obligatoria, posibilidad de llamar a la acción en la línea del frente sin luchar contra COVID-19 y reclamar una mayor apreciación de Odontología.

Objetivo: Desvelar o conteúdo dos comentários em postagens oficiais do Ministério da Saúde, de convocação de profissionais de saúde para enfrentamento à COVID-19.Método: Estudo qualitativo, realizado com 2823 comentários, obtidos a partir do acesso virtual às redes sociais oficiais do Ministério da Saúde no Facebook, Instagram e Twitter. Para processamento do corpus textual, utilizou-se o software Interface de R pourles Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires e realizou-se a análise multivariada por Classificação Hierárquica Descendente.Resultados: Foram obtidas cinco categorias: “dificuldades nas etapas para capacitação”, “aspectos financeiros envolvidos na convocação”, “condições trabalhistas no enfrentamento à pandemia”, “obrigatoriedade de capacitação x possível convocação”, “visibilidade e valorização da odontologia no combate à COVID-19”.Conclusão: Os comentários contemplaram o acesso à capacitação, a remuneração e condições trabalhistas, a obrigatoriedade para capacitação, possível convocação para atuar na linha de frente no combate à COVID-19 e reinvindicação por maior valorização da odontologia.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: The Health-Related Quality of Life Questionnaire for Nausea and Vomiting of Pregnancy (NVPQOL) is a validated questionnaire assessing quality of life among pregnant women with nausea and vomiting. OBJECTIVE: To translate, cross-culturally adapt and evaluate the reliability of the NVPQOL. DESIGN AND SETTING: Observational cross-sectional study developed in a public university in Brazil. METHODS: The translation, synthesis of translations, back-translation, expert committee, pre-testing and validation were carried out, resulting in a Portuguese-language version. The internal consistency, intra-rater and test-retest reliability and correlation between the total score of the Portuguese-language version of the NVPQOL and the domains of the World Health Organization Quality of Life-bref questionnaire were considered in the data analysis. RESULTS: The instrument went through the process with testing on 104 pregnant women. Strong internal consistency (Cronbach's α: 0.95), strong intra-rater and test-retest reliability (P < 0.0; intraclass correlation coefficient: 0.89; confidence interval: 0.791-0.945) and strong correlation between the total score of the Portuguese-language version of the NVPQOL and the physical health domain of the World Health Organization Quality of Life-bref questionnaire (P < 0.01; R = −0.8) were observed. CONCLUSION: The NVPQOL was translated, cross-culturally adapted and validated for the Portuguese language with satisfactory psychometric properties for assessing quality of life, especially in relation to physical health, among pregnant women with symptoms of nausea and vomiting in the first trimester of pregnancy.

ABSTRACT Chimeric antigen receptor T-cells (CAR-T cells) are a new modality of oncological treatment which has demonstrated impressive response in refractory or relapsed diseases, such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), lymphomas, and myeloma but is also associated with unique and potentially life-threatening toxicities. The most common adverse events (AEs) include cytokine release syndrome (CRS), neurological toxicities, such as the immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS), cytopenias, infections, and hypogammaglobulinemia. These may be severe and require admission of the patient to an intensive care unit. However, these AEs are manageable when recognized early and treated by a duly trained team. The objective of this article is to report a consensus compiled by specialists in the fields of oncohematology, bone marrow transplantation, and cellular therapy describing recommendations on the Clinical Centers preparation, training of teams that will use CAR-T cells, and leading clinical questions as to their use and the management of potential complications.
