At the same time, it also contains some anti-nutritional factors which have adverse effects on the digestion, absorption and utilization of nutrients. Cellular and metabolic events are induced by water absorption during seed germination. After absorbing water, soybean dry seeds begin to mobilize organelles and enzyme activities, repair and activate physiological and biochemical processes, and start basic metabolism. After that, by controlling the key factors of metabolism, the cells complete the process of material transformation, energy metabolism, ROS balance, cell wall acidification and looseness, hypocotyl elongation, etc. and finish germination. Abstract In this paper, LS-dyna software was used to simulate the charging process of cylindrical shell when EFP has different angles, and some interesting phenomena and laws were found. Cylindrical elastic wave σr was generated when the cylindrical shell was impacted by EFP. The cylindrical elastic wave σr was correlated with the time required for the cylindrical shell charge to be successfully detonated. When the EFP warhead penetration Angle θ ranges from 0° to 10°, the σr increases linearly with (cosθ)-1/2. With the increase of θ, the tangential velocity vy had an obvious effect on the impact of EFP on the cylindrical shell, and the linear relationship between the elastic wave σr and (cosθ)-1/2 does not change. When the θ was greater than 45°, EFP could not successfully impact and detonate the cylindrical shell charge. The EFP velocity was measured by velocity measurement method with an error of 1.3%. The experimental results have strong similarity with the simulation results, indicating that the parameters of the numerical simulation model have good reliability.

Abstract The silicon carbide (SiC)/metal composite armors with the composite cover on the front of the SiC plate were impacted by 12.7mm armor piercing incendiary (API) projectiles at velocities from 412.6m/s to 802.2m/s. The resulting projectile core and ceramic fragments were collected and then screened through a range of standard sieving screens. The mass distributions of fragments produced by projectile and ceramic impacting each other were obtained. The failure mechanism of the rigid-brittle core of 12.7mm API projectile after impacting SiC/metal composite armor was studied by examination of the failed core. The results show that the cumulative mass of core and ceramic fragments follow the Schuhmann distribution law. With the increase of impact velocity, the mass proportion of small core fragments increases, while for ceramic fragments, the mass proportion of fragments in different fractions does not change. The failure mechanism of the large equivalent diameter fragment ( >8mm) is tensile brittle fracture mainly. In contrast, the local plastic shear fracture exists on the fragments with an equivalent diameter of less than 2mm.

ABSTRACT Allelopathic suppression of the growth of co-occurring plant species in invaded ecosystems is an important factor in some plant invasions. This study uses leaf extracts of the invasive plant species Conyza canadensis to determine its allelopathic effects along a latitudinal gradient, and under different cover classes and degrees of invasion, on seed germination and growth of Lactuca sativa, a sensitive bioindicator of allelochemicals. The allelopathic effects of C. canadensis on seedling height, root length, seedling biomass, germination percentage, germination potential, germination index, germination rate index, and vigor index of L. sativa increased significantly with increasing latitude. A possible explanation is that the leaves of plants growing in high latitudes secrete a higher concentration of allelochemicals than do leaves of plants growing in low latitudes. The allelopathic effects of C. canadensis on seedling height, seedling biomass, germination potential, germination index, germination rate index, and vigor index of L. sativa decreased with increasing degree of invasion. The more intense allelopathic effects of C. canadensis at lower degrees of invasion may enable it to establish populations in ecosystems by inhibiting the seed germination and growth of co-occurring species.

Clinical isolates of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (K. pneumoniae) strains are being increased worldwide. Five pan-resistant K. pneumoniae strains have been isolated from respiratory and ICU wards in a Chinese hospital, and reveal strong resistance to all β-lactams, fluoroquinolones and aminoglycosides. Totally 27 β-lactamase genes and 2 membrane pore protein (porin) genes in 5 K. pneumoniae strains were screened by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The results indicated that all of 5 K. pneumoniae strains carried blaTEM-1 and blaDHA-1 genes, as well as base deletion and mutation of OmpK35 or OmpK36 genes. Compared with carbapenem-sensitive isolates by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), the resistant isolates markedly lacked the protein band of 34-40 kDa, which might be the outer membrane proteins of OmpK36 according to the electrophoresis mobility. In addition, the conjugation test was confirmed that blaDHA-1 mediated by plasmids could be transferred between resistant and sensitive strains. When reserpine (30 µg/mL) and carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone (CCCP) (50 µg/mL) were added in imipenem and meropenem, the MICs had no change against K. pneumoniae strains. These results suggest that both DHA-1 β-lactamase and loss or deficiency of porin OmpK36 may be the main reason for the cefoxitin and carbapenem resistance in K. pneumoniae strains in our hospital.
