Resumo Objetivou-se caracterizar a composição da macrofauna epiedáfica, em áreas em processo inicial de restauração florestal, por meio de diferentes tecnologias restauradoras e comparar esses parâmetros com uma floresta-referência. O estudo foi realizado na área experimental de Restauração ecológica da UTFPR, Dois Vizinhos, Paraná, em blocos casualizados, composto por três tratamentos (RP-restauração passiva, PAD-plantio em alta diversidade e NC-nucleação) com quatro repetições. Adjacente, encontra-se o fragmento de floresta nativa secundária (FL), usado como referência. As coletas foram realizadas em novembro/2010 e abril/2011, sendo instaladas em cada parcela três armadilhas pitfall. A riqueza e abundância foram submetidas a testes de normalidade, homogeneidade das variâncias e análise de variância e calcularam-se os índices de Shannon e Pielou. Os dados de abundância dos grupos taxonômicos foram submetidos à análise de componentes principais (ACP). Para verificar as diferenças na composição da macrofauna entre a floresta e as tecnologias de restauração, foi realizada a análise de similaridade (ANOSIM) e o percentual de similaridade (SIMPER). Amostraram-se 12.681 indivíduos, sendo 3.018 em novembro/2010 e 9.663 em abril/2011, distribuídos em 23 ordens. A abundância e riqueza da floresta diferiram significativamente das tecnologias restauradoras, em ambas as avaliações. A elevada abundância observada nas técnicas restauradoras refletiu a dominância de Hymenoptera, Coleoptera e Polyxenida. FL apresentou maior diversidade e equitabilidade, independentemente da época de amostragem. A ACP separou as tecnologias da floresta, pelas diferenças na composição da fauna edáfica, sendo que o mesmo não ocorreu entre as técnicas de restauração. Na ANOSIM e SIMPER, as principais ordens que contribuíram para a diferenciação da floresta das tecnologias em novembro/2010 foram Diptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Blattodea, e em abril/2011 Polyxenida, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera e Orthoptera. A macrofauna edáfica foi influenciada pelo grau de interferência antrópica, sendo um bom indicador das alterações ambientais e da sucessão ecológica observada em áreas em processo inicial de restauração florestal.

Abstract The objective was to characterize the composition of the epiedaphic macrofauna in areas undergoing initial forest restoration using different restoration technologies and to compare these parameters with a reference forest. The study was conducted in the experimental area of Ecological Restoration of the UTFPR, Dois Vizinhos/Paraná state, in randomized blocks, composed of three treatments (RP-passive restoration, PAD-high diversity planting, and NC-nucleation) with four repetitions. Adjacent to this, the fragment of secondary native forest (FL), is used as a reference. The collections were made in November 2010 and April 2011, and three pitfall traps were installed in each plot. Richness and abundance were submitted to normality tests, homogeneity of variance and analysis of variance, and the Shannon and Pielou indices were calculated. The abundance data of the taxonomic groups were submitted to principal component analysis (PCA). To verify the differences in the macrofauna composition between the forest and restoration technologies, similarity analysis (ANOSIM) and percentage of similarity (SIMPER) were performed. We sampled 12,681 individuals, 3,018 in November/2010 and 9,663 in April/2011, distributed in 23 orders. The abundance and richness of the forest differed significantly from the restorative technologies in both assessments. The high abundance observed in the restorative techniques reflected the dominance of Hymenoptera, Coleoptera and Polyxenida. FL showed higher diversity and equitability, regardless the sampling season. The PCA separated the forest technologies by differences in the composition of the edaphic fauna, and the same did not occur between the restoration techniques. In ANOSIM and SIMPER the main orders contributing to the forest differentiation of the technologies in November/10 were Diptera, Coleoptera, Orthoptera, Blattodea, and in April/11 Polyxenida, Hemiptera, Hymenoptera and Orthoptera. The edaphic macrofauna was influenced by the degree of anthropic interference, being a good indicator of environmental changes and ecological succession observed in areas undergoing initial forest restoration.

ABSTRACT Herbicides play an important role in preventing crop yield losses due to both their weed interference ability and their capacity for increasing soil conservation in no-till systems. Group A herbicides or acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACCase) are essential tools the selective management of glyphosate resistance in grass weed species. In this review, we describe important aspects of ACCase biology and herbicides targeting this enzyme, along with a discussion on stewardship programs to delay the evolution of herbicide resistance which can evolve either through target site and/or non-target site mechanisms. Sixteen-point mutations have been reported to confer resistance to ACCase inhibitors. Each mutation confers cross resistance to a different group of herbicides. Metabolic resistance can result in resistance to multiple herbicides with different mechanisms of action (MoA), and herbicide detoxification is often conferred by cytochrome P450 monooxigenases and glutathione- S -transferases. Regardless of whether resistance mechanisms are target or non-target site, using herbicides with the same MoA will result in resistance evolution. Therefore, while field surveys and resistance mechanism studies are crucial for designing reactive management strategies, integrated weed management plays a central role in both reactive and proactive mitigation of herbicide resistance evolution.

RESUMO: Este trabalho teve por objetivo construir e validar um indicador de educação financeira, assunto relevante que está entre os temas sugeridos para compor a Base Nacional Comum Curricular e necessita de avanços. Para tal, desenvolveu-se um instrumento com 13 itens, os quais foram analisados a partir da Teoria da Resposta ao Item. Foram aplicados 1.576 instrumentos em todas as sete mesorregiões do Rio Grande do Sul, estimando-se as curvas características dos itens e as proficiências dos indivíduos. Os resultados indicaram a adequação do indicador proposto e permitiram a construção dos níveis de proficiência em educação financeira.

ABSTRACT: This paper aims to construct and validate an indicator of financial education, a relevant subject that is among the themes suggested to compose the National Curricular Common Base, that needs advances. For this, an instrument was developed with thirteen items, which were analyzed from the Item Response Theory. In this context, 1576 instruments were applied in all seven mesoregions of Rio Grande do Sul, estimating the characteristic curves of the items and individuals’ proficiencies. The results indicated the adequacy of the proposed indicator and allowed the construction of proficiency levels in financial education.

RESUMEN: Este trabajo tuvo por objetivo construir y validar un indicador de educación financiera, asunto relevante que está entre los temas sugeridos para componer la Base Nacional Común Curricular y necesita avances. Para tal, se desarrolló un instrumento con 13 ítems, los cuales fueron analizados a partir de la Teoría de la Respuesta al Ítem. Fueron aplicados 1.576 instrumentos en todas las siete mesoregiones de Rio Grande do Sul, estimándose las curvas características de los ítems y las proeficiencias de los individuos. Los resultados indicaron la adecuación del indicador propuesto y permitieron la construcción de los niveles de proeficiencia en educación financiera.

OBJETIVO: Determinar a eficácia do transplante de membrana amniótica associada ao transplante de conjuntiva autólogo no tratamento do pterígio primário. MÉTODOS: Analisou-se prospectivamente 26 pacientes (14 mulheres e 12 homens) com idade entre 20 e 60 anos, atendidos no ambulatório de oftalmologia do Hospital Universitário Evangélico de Curitiba e que foram submetidos ao tratamento do pterígio primário com cirurgia de exérese do pterígio e uso de membrana amniótica associada ao transplante de conjuntiva autólogo, entre abril e novembro de 2001. Foram analisados: grau do pterígio, complicações pós-operatórias e recidivas. RESULTADOS: No pós-operatório 4 casos (15,38%) tiveram complicações, nenhuma considerada séria, sendo a mais freqüente a retração do enxerto em 2 casos. No sexto mês após a cirurgia, 24 pacientes (92,3%) obtiveram sucesso cirúrgico e 2 pacientes (7,69%) tiveram recidiva corneana ou conjuntival. Dos pacientes que tiveram complicações, 50% sofreram recidiva do pterígio (P<0,05). CONCLUSÃO: Trata-se de procedimento seguro e com baixo grau de recidiva. As complicações pós-operatórias estão associadas com maior chance de recidiva. É também opção nos casos em que não há conjuntiva doadora suficiente para cobrir toda a área a ser incisada.

PURPOSE: To evaluate the effectiveness of amniotic membrane transplantation associated with conjunctival autograft in primary pterygium treatment. METHODS: We have analyzed, prospectively, 26 patients (14 women and 12 men), from 20 to 60 years old, examined at the Evangelic Hospital Ophthalmology Outpatient Clinic. They were submitted to primary pterygium treatment with pterygium excision surgery, amniotic membrane transplantation and conjunctival autograft, from April to November, 2001. The evaluated aspects were: degree of pterygium, postoperative complications and recurrence. RESULTS: Four cases (15,38%) showed complications, none of them considered serious, conjunctival graft contraction in 2 cases being the most frequent. After a follow-up of 6 months, 24 patients (92,3%) had a successful result and 2 patients (7,69%) had corneal or conjunctival recurrence. Among the patients with complications 50% presented pterygium recurrence (P<0,05). CONCLUSION: It is a safe surgical procedure with a low degree of recurrence rate. Complications are associated with a greater chance of relapse. This procedure is also an option in cases where there is not sufficient conjunctiva to cover all excised area.

O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a capacidade de diferentes materiais adesivos em previnir a microinfiltração em restaurações com amálgama aderido. Trinta e cinco incisivos bovinos foram selecionados. Foram preparadas cavidades padronizadas nas superfícies vestibular e lingual. A parede gengival estando localizada em cemento/dentina e a oclusal em esmalte. Os dentes (n=35) foram divididos em 5 grupos, de acordo com o material empregado (um cimento de ionômero de vidro modificado por resina, dois cimentos resinosos, um sistema adesivo e um verniz cavitário como controle). Após serem restaurados, os dentes foram submetidos a termociclagem, sendo em seguida imersos em solução corante e então seccionados para permitir a avaliação da microinfiltração. A análise estatística não-paramétrica indicou que todos os materiais demonstraram menor infiltração do que o grupo controle (p<0.01). Não foi detectada microinfiltração utilizando o cimento de ionômero de vidro modificado por resina, o qual mostrou menor infiltração do que os outros materiais adesivos (p<0.05). A infiltração em esmalte foi menor do que em cemento/dentina. Conclui-se que o amálgama aderido é uma técnica efetiva, uma vez que todos os materiais empregados preveniram a microinfiltração em esmalte e cemento/dentina, quando comparados ao grupo controle, com exceção do Panavia nas margens em cemento/dentina.

The aim of this study was to verify the ability of different adhesive materials to prevent microleakage in bonded amalgam restorations. Standard cavities were prepared in both buccal and lingual surfaces of 35 bovine incisors. The gingival wall was located in cementum/dentin and the occlusal wall in enamel. Teeth (n=35) were divided into 5 groups, according to material employed (one glass-ionomer cement, two resin cements, one adhesive system, and Copalex varnish as a control). Following restoration, the teeth were submitted to thermal cycling. The teeth were subsequently immersed in methylene blue dye and sectioned to allow assessment of microleakage. Non-parametric statistical analysis indicated that all materials demonstrated less leakage than the control group (p<0.01). No leakage was found using the resin-modified glass-ionomer cement, which was significantly different from the other adhesive materials (p<0.05). Leakage in enamel was lower than in cementum/dentin margins. It was concluded that bonded amalgam was an effective technique, since all materials prevented microleakage in enamel and cementum/dentin, when compared to the control group, except Panavia in cementum/dentin margins.
