ABSTRACT The oral involvement in the Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation is well described in the literature. The goal of the dental treatment and management of the oral lesions related to the HSCT is to reduce the harm caused by preexisting oral infection or even the worsening of oral acute/chronic GVHD and late effects. The aim of this guideline was to discuss the dental management of patients subjected to HSCT, considering three phases of the HSCT: pre-HSCT, acute phase, and late phase. The literature published from 2010 to 2020 was reviewed in order to identify dental interventions in this patient population. The selected papers were divided into three groups: pre-HSCT, acute and late, and were reviewed by the SBTMO Dental Committee's members. When necessary, an expertise opinion was considered for better translating the guideline recommendations to our population dental characteristics. This manuscript focused on the pre-HSCT dental management. The objective of the pre-HSCT dental management is to identify possible dental situations that On behalf of the Dental Committee of the Brazilian Society of Gene Therapy and Bone Marrow Transplantation (SBTMO) can worsening during the acute phase after the HSCT. Each guideline recommendations were made considering the Dentistry Specialties. The clinical consensus on dental management prior to HSCT provides professional health caregivers with clinical setting-specific information to help with the management of dental problems in patients to be subjected to HSCT.

Abstract This in vitro study evaluated the effect of an experimental varnish containing 20% nano-hydroxyapatite (nHAP) associated with 5% stannous chloride (SnCl2) against erosive-abrasive wear on bovine dentin. Samples of bovine cervical dentin were pre-eroded (0.3% citric acid, pH 2.6 for 10 minutes) and randomized into 4 groups (n=10): Control group - experimental varnish without active ingredient (CG); experimental varnish containing 20% nHAP (nHG); experimental varnish containing 5% SnCl2 (24.800 ppm Sn2+) (SnG); experimental varnish containing 20% nHAP associated with 5% SnCl2 (18.300 ppm Sn2+) (nHSnG). After applying the materials, the erosive-abrasive challenges were performed for five days. Erosive dentin loss and analysis of the pattern of dentinal obliteration were performed by 3D confocal laser microscopy. A one-way ANOVA/Bonferroni test was performed to analyze the data (α=0.05). The SnG and nHSnG experimental groups presented more effectiveness in preventing erosive wear when compared to the other groups (p<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the SnG and nHSnG groups (p = 0.731) in tooth structure dentin loss. Regarding the amount of open dentinal tubules, the highest amount of obstructed dentinal tubules was demonstrated in SnG and nHSnG (p < 0.05) when compared to the others. Between SnG and nHSnG there was no significant difference (p = 0.952) in the amount of closed dentinal tubules in the dentin. Experimental varnishes containing 5% SnCl2 associated or not with 20% nHAP showed to be a promising strategy in preventing erosive-abrasive wear of dentin. In addition, nHSnG was able to obliterate dentinal tubules.

Resumo Este estudo in vitro avaliou o efeito de um verniz experimental contendo 20% de nano-hidroxiapatita (nHAP) associado a 5% de cloreto estanoso (SnCl2) contra o desgaste erosivo-abrasivo da dentina bovina. As amostras de dentina cervical bovina foram pré-erodificadas (0,3% de ácido cítrico, pH 2,6 durante 10 minutos) e aleatorizadas em 4 grupos (n=10): Grupo controle - verniz experimental sem ingrediente ativo (GC); verniz experimental contendo 20% nHAP (GnH); verniz experimental contendo 5% SnCl2 (24.800 ppm Sn2+) (GSn); verniz experimental contendo 20% nHAP associado a 5% SnCl2 (18.300 ppm Sn2+) (GnHSn). Após a aplicação dos materiais, os desafios erosivo-abrasivos foram realizados durante cinco dias. Perda de dentina erosiva e análise do padrão de obliteração dentinária foram realizadas por microscopia laser confocal 3D. Foi realizado o teste ANOVA/Bonferroni unidireccional para analisar os dados (α=0,05). Os grupos experimentais GSn e GnHSn apresentaram maior eficácia na prevenção do desgaste erosivo quando comparados com os outros grupos (p<0,05). Não houve diferença estatisticamente significativa entre os grupos GSn e GnHSn (p = 0,731) na perda de dentina da estrutura dentária. Relativamente à quantidade de túbulos dentinários abertos, a maior quantidade de túbulos dentinários obstruídos foi demonstrada em GSn e GnHSn (p < 0,05) quando comparada com os outros grupos. Entre GSn e GnHSn, não houve diferença significativa (p = 0,952) na quantidade de túbulos dentinários fechados na dentina. Os vernizes experimentais contendo 5% de SnCl2 associados ou não a 20% de nHAP mostraram ser uma estratégia promissora na prevenção do desgaste erosivo-abrasivo da dentina. Além disso, o GnHSn conseguiu obliterar os túbulos dentinários.

Abstract Introduction: Treatments of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) are able to control symptoms in most cases, however, a fraction of patients do not improve or have a loss of response to treatments, making it important to explore new therapeutic strategies. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) may represent one of them. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of HBO therapy in an experimental model of IBD. Methods: Sixty male BALBc mice were divided into six groups. Group 1 was colitis-induced with trinitrobenzene sulfonic acid (TNBS) + ethanol, group 2 received TNBS + ethanol plus HBO, group 3 received only ethanol, group 4 received ethanol plus HBO, group 5 received saline solution, and group 6 received saline solution plus HBO. HBO was performed for four days, subsequently, the mice were evaluated daily. At the end of the study, samples from the intestine were collected for histological analysis as well as for measurement of antioxidant enzymes and cytokine levels. Results: HBO significantly improved the clinical and histological status of the animals. Treatment with HBO increased the activity of the antioxidant enzymes superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) in all of the groups; moreover, the difference was only significant between the TNBS and TNBS + HBO groups and treatments promoted a reduction in the proinflammatory cytokines IFN-γ, IL-12, IL-17 and TNF-α and increased the anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-4 and IL-10, with no changes in IL-13. Conclusion: HBO effectively treats TNBS-induced colitis by increasing the activity of antioxidant enzymes and modulating cytokine profiles.

Abstract Background Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with systemic inflammation and comorbidities. Changes in the composition of the intestinal microbiome are involved in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases and metabolic syndrome. Characterizing the intestinal microbiome of patients with psoriasis may be relevant for the understanding of its clinical course and comorbidity prevention. Objective To characterize the intestinal microbiome of men with psoriasis compared to omnivore and vegetarian controls (without psoriasis). Method Cross-sectional study of 42 adult males: 21 omnivores with psoriasis; and controls: 14 omnivores and 7 vegetarian individuals. The characterization of the intestinal microbiome was performed by metagenomic analysis. Serum levels of lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LPB) and C-reactive protein (CRP) were evaluated. Results The groups differed from each other regarding nutritional aspects and microbiome; individuals with psoriasis had a higher consumption of protein and lower consumption of fibers. Levels of LPB, CRP, and the Firmicutes/Bacteroidetes ratio were higher in the group with psoriasis than in the vegetarian group (p < 0.05). The genera Prevotella, Mogibacterium, Dorea, Bifidobacterium and Coprococcus, differed in the group with psoriasis compared to vegetarians; the genera Mogibacterium, Collinsella and Desulfovibrio differed from omnivores. A microbiome pattern linked to psoriasis (plsPSO) was identified, which was associated with higher LPB levels (rho = 0.39; p = 0.02), and lower dietary fiber intake (rho = −0.71; p < 0.01). Study limitations Only adult men were evaluated. Conclusion A difference was identified in the intestinal microbiome of adult men with psoriasis when compared to healthy omnivores and vegetarian controls. The identified microbiome pattern was correlated with dietary fiber intake and serum levels of LPB.

ABSTRACT Objective: The objective of this study was to evaluate the oral health condition and dental treatments performed in patients in pre-allogeneic HCT. Method: The records of patients treated during 2018 at a Brazilian HCT service were reviewed. The following oral health data were obtained: 1. Decayed, missing and filled teeth / correlated index for primary dentition (DMFT/dmft); 2. Quality of oral hygiene and 3. Dental pathologies: 3.1 Periodontal infectious focus, 3.2 Endodontic infectious focus and 3.3 Carie incidence. All dental procedures performed were surveyed. Results: Thirty-three patients were included, with a mean age of 28.42 (±16.37), 20 male (60%) and 13 female. The average DMFT/dmft found in this study was 10.24 (± 8.37), similar to the index found in the population in southeastern Brazil. The younger study population presented a DMFT/dmft considered high, when compared to the general population. A total of 27.2% of the patients had active caries lesions, 33.3%, foci of periodontal infection, 15.1%, endodontic infectious focus and 40%, poor oral hygiene. Almost half of the patients (48.4%) had to undergo dental intervention, 24.2% needing periodontal scaling, 21.2%, fillings and 12.1%, tooth extractions. Conclusion: We conclude that the studied population had an important incidence of dental pathologies and infectious conditions that could complicate throughout HCT, especially in younger patients, therefore presenting a high demand for dental treatment in the pre-HCT. Studies that assess the impact of dental conditioning on the outcomes of HCT with an emphasis on dental infectious complications, days of hospitalization and survival are necessary.”

RESUMO Desde a publicação das últimas recomendações para o diagnóstico e tratamento da Demência Vascular pela Academia Brasileira de Neurologia em 2011, avanços significativos ocorreram na terminologia e critérios diagnósticos. O presente manuscrito é resultado do consenso entre especialistas indicados pelo Departamento Científico de Neurologia Cognitiva e do Envelhecimento da Academia Brasileira de Neurologia (2020-2022). O objetivo foi atualizar as recomendações práticas para a identificação, classificação e diagnóstico do Comprometimento Cognitivo Vascular (CCV). As buscas foram realizadas nas plataformas MEDLINE, Scopus, Scielo e LILACS. As recomendações buscam fornecer uma ampla revisão sobre o tema, então sintetizar as evidências para o diagnóstico do CCV não apenas para neurologistas, mas também para outros profissionais de saúde envolvidos na avaliação e nos cuidados ao paciente com CCV, considerando as diferentes realidades dos níveis de atenção à saúde (primário, secundário e terciário) no Brasil.

ABSTRACT Since the publication of the latest recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of Vascular Dementia by the Brazilian Academy of Neurology in 2011, significant advances on the terminology and diagnostic criteria have been made. This manuscript is the result of a consensus among experts appointed by the Scientific Department of Cognitive Neurology and Aging of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology (2020-2022). We aimed to update practical recommendations for the identification, classification, and diagnosis of Vascular Cognitive Impairment (VCI). Searches were performed in the MEDLINE, Scopus, Scielo, and LILACS databases. This guideline provides a comprehensive review and then synthesizes the main practical guidelines for the diagnosis of VCI not only for neurologists but also for other professionals involved in the assessment and care of patients with VCI, considering the different levels of health care (primary, secondary and tertiary) in Brazil.

RESUMO JUSTIFICATIVA E OBJETIVOS: As dores musculoesqueléticas (DME) possuem relação com fatores psicogênicos e qualidade de sono, evidenciando que essa tríade se refere a um processo biopsicossocial. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a associação entre má qualidade de sono e DME em adolescentes. MÉTODOS: Realizou-se estudo observacional, com delineamento transversal, no qual foram analisados 545 adolescentes, na faixa etária entre 11 e 15 anos. A qualidade do sono foi avaliada através do Índice de Qualidade do Sono de Pittsburgh (PSQI), a presença de DME pelo Questionário Nórdico de Sintomas Osteomusculares (QNSO), disfunções temporomandibulares pelo Eixo II dos Critérios Diagnósticos de Pesquisa em Disfunção Temporomandibular (RDC/TMD) e a sonolência diurna excessiva através da Escala de Sonolência de Epworth (ESE). Para avaliar associação entre duas variáveis categóricas, foi utilizado o teste Qui-quadrado de Pearson ou o teste Exato de Fisher. RESULTADOS: A prevalência da má qualidade do sono, distúrbios do sono, DME e sonolência diurna excessiva foram 66,8, 9,5, 87,5 e 30,5%, respectivamente. Observou-se associação entre qualidade do sono e quantidade de horas de sono por noite [OR=1,49; (1,01 a 2,21)], e entre distúrbios do sono e DME na parte superior das costas [OR=1,9; (1,0 a 3,3)] e nos punhos e mãos [OR=2,8; (1,4 a 5,7)]. No entanto, não foi verificada associação entre qualidade do sono e DME [OR=1,29; (0,76 a 2,17)]. CONCLUSÃO: Foi verificada associação entre distúrbios de sono e DME, bem como entre qualidade do sono e quantidade de horas dormidas por noite.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Musculoskeletal pain (MSP) is related to psychogenic factors and quality of sleep, showing that this triad is a biopsychosocial process. The aim of this study was to analyze an association between poor sleep quality and MSP in adolescents. METHODS: This study has an observational, cross-sectional character, in which 545 adolescents, aged between 11 and 15 years, were analyzed. Sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), the presence of MSP using the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (NMQ), temporomandibular disorder using the Axis II of the Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders (RDC/TMD) and excessive daytime sleepiness using the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS). Pearson Chi-square or Fishers Exact test were used to assess the association between two categorical variables. RESULTS: The prevalence of poor sleep quality, sleep disorders, MSP and excessive daytime sleepiness were, respectively, 66.8, 9.5, 87.5 and 30.5%. An association was observed between the quality of sleep and the number of hours of sleep per night [OR = 1.49; (1.01 to 2.21)], and between sleep disorders and MSP in the upper back [OR=1.9; (1.0 to 3.3)], and the wrists and hands [OR=2.8; (1.4 to 5.7)]. However, there was no association between sleep quality and MSP [OR=1.29; (0.76 to 2.17)]. CONCLUSION: An association was found between sleep disorders and MSP, as well as between the number of hours slept per night and quality of sleep.

ABSTRACT Hand-foot-and-mouth disease (HFMD) is a highly contagious viral disease commonly associated to Enteroviruses (EV). During 2018, Brazil faced massive HFMD outbreaks spread across the country. This study aimed to characterize the EV responsible for the HFMD outbreak that occurred in Paraiba State, Brazilian Northeastern region, in 2018, followed by a phylogenetic analysis to detail information on its genetic diversity. A total of 49 serum samples (one from each patient) collected from children ≤ 15 years old, clinically diagnosed with HFMD were tested for EV using conventional RT-PCR and RT-qPCR. EV infection was confirmed in 71.4% (35/49) of samples. The mean and median ages were 1.83 years and one year old, respectively. Twenty-two EV-positive samples were successfully sequenced and classified as EV-A species; 13 samples were also identified with the CV-A6 genotype. The phylogenetic analysis (VP1 region) of three samples revealed that the detected CV-A6 strains belonged to sub-lineage D3. The CV-A6 strains detected here clustered with strains from South America, Europe and West Asia strains that were also involved in HFMD cases during the 2017-2018 seasons, in addition to the previously detected Brazilian CV-A6 strains from 2012 to 2017, suggesting a global co-circulation of a set of different CV-A6 strains introduced in the country at different times. The growing circulation of the emerging CV-A6 associated with HFMD, together with the detection of more severe cases worldwide, suggests the need for a more intense surveillance system of HFMD in Brazil. In addition, this investigation was performed exclusively on serum samples, and the analysis of whole blood samples should be considered and could have shown advantages when employed in the diagnosis of enteroviral HFMD outbreaks.

Resumen Objetivo: Analizar indicadores sociodemográficos asociados a realización de actividad física (AF) en dominios del ocio, desplazamientos, casa y trabajo, en adultos brasileños. Métodos: Estudio transversal con análisis secundario de datos de la Encuesta Nacional de Salud (PNS) de 2019. Factores asociados al compromiso en AF se analizaron mediante regresión logística. Resultados: Estudio involucró 88.500 adultos brasileños con edad promedio de 45 ± 17,5 años. Horas de trabajo más largas [odds ratio (OR) = 0,74; IC95% 0,66;0,82; > 40h vs. ≤ 20h], sexo femenino (OR = 0,67; IC95% 0,63;0,71) se asociaron con menores posibilidades de realizar AF en ocio. Mayor ingreso (OR = 3,20; IC95% 2,79;3,67; > 5 vs. ≤ salario mínimo) y nivel educacional (OR = 3,01; IC95% 2,74;3,32 - superior completo vs. fundamental incompleto) se asociaron positivamente con AF en ocio. Conclusión: determinantes económicos y sociales estuvieron fuertemente relacionados con la participación en AF, lo que sugieres un patrón de inequidad marcado por la necesidad de supervivencia, que se reproduce socialmente.

Abstract Objective: To examine the socioeconomic indicators associated with engagement in physical activity (PA) in the leisure-time, transportation, domestic and occupational domains, in Brazilian adults. Methods: Cross-sectional study with secondary data from the National Health Survey (PNS), conducted in 2019. The factors associated with engagement in PA were analyzed using logistic regression. Results: The study involved 88,500 Brazilian adults with mean age of 45 ± 17.5 years old. Longer working hours [odds ratio (OR) = 0.74; 95%CI 0.66;0.82; > 40h vs. ≥ 20h] and female sex (OR = 0.67; 95%CI 0.63;0.71) were associated with lower chances of engaging in leisure-time PA. Higher income (OR = 3.20; 95%CI 2.79;3.67; > 5 vs. ≥ minimum wage) and education level (OR = 3.01; 95%CI 2.74;3.32 - complete higher education vs. incomplete elementary school) were positively associated with leisure-time PA. Conclusion: Socioeconomic correlates were strongly related to engagement in PA in Brazilian adults, suggesting a pattern of inequity marked by the need for survival, which is socially reproduced.

ABSTRACT Background: The school community was heavily impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, especially with the long time of school closures. This study aimed to analyze the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies and possible factors associated with seropositivity for COVID-19 in teachers and other school staff, and to estimate the fraction of asymptomatic individuals by sex and age group. Methods: We conducted a serological survey of SARS-CoV-2 infections. An analytical cross-sectional study was conducted in Fortaleza, Brazil. Teachers and other staff members from pre-schools to universities of higher education to were investigated. Results: A total of 1,901 professionals participated in the study, of which 1,021 were staff and 880 were teachers. The seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 was 8.0% (152/1901). In the seropositive group, 48.3% were asymptomatic. There was a predominance of women (68.4%); and, 47.1% of the participants were between 31 and 45 years old. There was an increase in prevalence with increasing age. An inverse relationship was found for education level: more professionals with less education tested positive for COVID-19. The presence of an infected person living in the same household was significantly associated with positive results for COVID-19 among the professionals. Conclusions: This is the first study to report the seroprevalence of IgG against SARS-CoV-2 in Brazilian educational staff after the first wave of the disease. In this study, the seroprevalence was much lower than that in the general population. During school reopening, a small fraction of school workers showed serologically detectable signs of SARS-CoV-2 exposure.

Abstract This work aimed to evaluate the sowing time of popcorn hybrids and its impact on yield components and grain yield. The study was conducted in the experimental area of the Federal University of Santa Maria, Frederico Westphalen Campus, during the 2019/2020 agricultural year. The experimental design was of randomized blocks, in a bifactorial scheme, with four sowing times (08.21, 09.30, 09.30 and 10.19.2019) and six popcorn corn hybrids (H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 and H6), with four repetitions. The sowing time significantly influenced the main yield components, where sowing carried out earlier, until 09.11.2019 provided better conditions and resulted in a greater number of grains per ear and weight of a thousand grains. In the comparison between the hybrids evaluated, they resulted in high grain yield, with an average of 7,235 kg ha-1. The popcorn corn hybrids used must be sown by 09.11.2019 in the southern region of Brazil, as they produce 60% more, compared to late sowing, for the conditions in which the experiment was carried out.

Resumo Este trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a época de sementeira de híbridos de milho pipoca e seu impacto sobre os componentes de rendimento e produtividade de grãos. O estudo foi conduzido na área experimental da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, Campus de Frederico Westphalen, durante o ano agrícola 2019/2020. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos casualizados, em esquema bifatorial, sendo quatro épocas de sementeira (21.08, 11.09, 30.09 e 19.10.2019) e seis híbridos de milho pipoca (H1, H2, H3, H4, H5 e H6), com quatro repetições. A época de sementeira influenciou significativamente sobre os principais componentes de produtividade, onde a sementeira realizada mais precocemente, até 11.09.2019 proporcionou melhores condições e resultou em maior número de grãos por espiga e peso de mil grãos. No comparativo entre os híbridos avaliados, estes resultaram em elevada produtividade de grãos, com média de 7.235 kg ha-1. Os híbridos de milho pipoca utilizados devem ser semeados até 11.09.2019 na região Sul do Brasil, pois produzem 60% a mais, em relação às sementeiras tardias, para as condições em que o experimento foi realizado.

RESUMO Objetivo: O objetivo do presente estudo in vitro foi avaliar o efeito antimicrobiano de cinco tipos de probióticos não industrializados ou industrializados em biofilmes formados ao redor de mini-implantes ortodônticos. A hipótese nula testada foi: não há diferença no efeito antimicrobiano entre os cinco tipos de probióticos testados em torno dos mini-implantes ortodônticos. Métodos: Para o experimento, as cabeças de 120 mini-implantes foram imersas por sete dias em solução de Staphylococcus aureus para formação de biofilme e, posteriormente, semeadas em meio de cultura contendo probióticos. Os mini-implantes foram divididos em seis grupos diferentes, de acordo com o probiótico utilizado: G1)Lactobacillus casei; G2)Lactobacillus brevis; G3)Lactobacillus rhamnosus; G4) lactobacilos do leite fermentado Yakult®; G5) lactobacilos do leite fermentado Batavito®; e G6) sem uso de probiótico, como controle negativo. As análises qualitativas e quantitativas de todos os grupos foram realizadas usando a contagem de UFCs (unidades formadoras de colônia). Resultados: O estudo mostrou que os grupos G4 e G6 não apresentaram atividade antimicrobiana, em comparação aos grupos G1, G2, G3 e G5 (p< 0,05), os quais demonstraram atividade antimicrobiana. Conclusão: As bactérias probióticas não comerciais, Lactobacillus casei e Lactobacillus rhamnosus, assim como o leite fermentado comercializado, Batavito®, apresentaram resultados promissores na redução da colonização dos mini-implantes por S. aureus. Portanto, a hipótese nula foi rejeitada.

ABSTRACT Objective: The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the antimicrobial effect of five types of non-industrialized and industrialized probiotics on biofilms formed around orthodontic mini-implants. The null hypothesis tested was: there is no difference in the antimicrobial effect between the five types of probiotics tested around orthodontic mini-implants. Methods: For the experiment, 120 mini-implants were immersed for seven days in Staphylococcus aureus solution for biofilm formation, and were subsequently plated in culture medium containing probiotics. The mini-implants were divided into six different groups, according to the probiotic used: G1)Lactobacillus casei; G2)Lactobacillus brevis; G3)Lactobacillus rhamnosus; G4) Lactobacillus from fermented milk Yakult®; G5) Lactobacillus from fermented milk Batavito® and G6) without use of probiotic, as negative control. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of all groups were performed using the CFU (colony forming unit) count. Results: The study showed that groups G4 and G6 did not present antimicrobial activity, in comparison to groups G1, G2, G3, and G5 (p< 0.05), which demonstrated antimicrobial activity. Conclusion: The non-commercial probiotic bacteria, Lactobacillus casei and Lactobacillus rhamnosus, as well as commercially available fermented milk Batavito® presented promising results in the reduction of colonization of mini-implants by S. aureus. Therefore, the null hypothesis was rejected.

Resumo Objetivo: Construir e validar quanto ao conteúdo uma terminologia especializada de Enfermagem, no cuidado a adultos vivendo com aids, fundamentado no Modelo de Sete Eixos da Classificação Internacional para a Prática de Enfermagem. Métodos: Estudo metodológico, realizado em um Hospital Escola no Nordeste do Brasil. Seguiram-se as seguintes etapas: extração dos termos de prontuários de pessoas vivendo com aids; normalização; mapeamento cruzado entre os extraídos e os constantes na Classificação Internacional para a Prática de Enfermagem; distribuição destes nos sete eixos e validação de conteúdo por meio de índice de concordância entre enfermeiros peritos. Resultados: Extraíram-se 2.000 termos. A normalização resultou em 557 termos pertinentes, estando 319 constantes e 238 não constantes na Classificação Internacional para a Prática de Enfermagem. Foram validados pelos peritos 522 termos, sendo 319 constantes e 203 não constantes, os quais atingiram um índice de concordância ≥ 0,80. Conclusão: O estudo permitiu identificar e validar os termos utilizados por enfermeiros na assistência às pessoas vivendo com aids, o qual subsidiará as etapas subsequentes à construção de um subconjunto terminológico para informação e comunicação à prática de Enfermagem.

Abstract Objective: To build and validate, in terms of content, a specialized nursing terminology in care of adults infected with AIDS, based on the Seven-Axis Model of the International Classification for Nursing Practice. Method: A methodological study carried out at a teaching hospital in northeastern Brazil. The following steps followed extraction of terms from the medical records of people infected with AIDS; normalization; cross-mapping between extracted and constant in the International Classification for Nursing Practice; distribution in seven axes and content validation through a concordance index among expert nurses. Results: Two thousand terms have been extracted. Normalization resulted in 557 pertinent terms, 319 of which were constant and 238 not included in the International Classification for Nursing Practice. Five hundred and twenty-two terms were validated by experts, of which 319 were constant and 203 were not constant, which reached a concordance index ≥ 0.80. Conclusion: This study allowed to identify and validate the terms used by nurses in assisting people infected with AIDS, which will subsidize the steps subsequent to the construction of a terminological subset for information and communication to nursing practice.

Resumen Objetivo: Elaborar y validar, en cuanto al contenido, una terminología especializada de enfermería en el cuidado de adultos que viven con sida, fundamentada en el Modelo de Siete Ejes de la Clasificación Internacional de la Práctica de Enfermería. Métodos: Estudio metodológico, realizado en un hospital universitario en la región nordeste de Brasil. Se llevaron a cabo las siguientes etapas: extracción de los términos de historias clínicas de personas que viven con sida; normalización; mapeo cruzado entre los términos extraídos y los que constan en la Clasificación Internacional de la Práctica de Enfermería; distribución de estos en los siete ejes y validación de contenido mediante el índice de concordancia por enfermeros peritos. Resultados: Se extrajeron 2.000 términos. La normalización dio como resultado 557 términos pertinentes, de los cuales 319 constaban en la Clasificación Internacional de la Práctica de Enfermería y 238 no. Los peritos validaron 522 términos, de los cuales 319 constaban y 203 no constaban, que alcanzaron un índice de concordancia ≥ 0,80. Conclusión: El estudio permitió identificar y validar los términos utilizados por enfermeros en la atención a personas que viven con sida y contribuirá con las etapas subsiguientes de la construcción de un subconjunto terminológico para información y comunicación en la práctica de enfermería.
