Abstract Background: The Nursing School of Coimbra knows the importance of extension units in the articulation between teaching, research, and extension. For this reason, the School has a Service Provision and Community Extension Activities Coordination Unit (UPSCCAEC). Objective: To describe the work developed by the UPSCCAEC in 2019 and 2020, highlighting its adaptive capacity in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. Main topics under analysis: The reports of activities carried out within the scope of the UPSCCAEC in 2019 and 2020 were used as a data source. A comparison was made with findings in the two years, discussed based on the available theoretical framework and considering the COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on Higher Education Institutions’ training, research, and extension processes. Conclusion: The UPSCCAEC’s activity in those years contributed to the institution’s excellence and academic development and successful response to the current societal challenges in a time of great instability due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Resumo Enquadramento: A Escola Superior de Enfermagem de Coimbra, ciente do valor das unidades de extensão na articulação do tripé Ensino-Investigação-Extensão tem na sua estrutura a Unidade de Prestação de Serviços à Comunidade e Coordenação das Atividades de Extensão na Comunidade (UPSCCAEC). Objetivo: Descrever o trabalho desenvolvido pela UPSCCAEC em 2019 e 2020, destacando a sua capacidade adaptativa mediante a pandemia pela COVID-19. Principais tópicos em análise: Utilizaram-se como fonte de dados os relatórios de atividades realizadas no contexto da UPSCCAEC nos anos civis de 2019 e 2020, e realizou-se a comparação com achados nos dois anos, os quais foram discutidos à luz do referencial teórico disponível, considerando a pandemia COVID-19 e o impacte a nível das Instituições do Ensino Superior (IES) em seus processos formativos, de investigação e extensão. Conclusão: A atividade da UPSCCAEC nos referidos anos contribuiu para a afirmação da instituição, do desenvolvimento académico, e constituiu recurso de excelência na resposta aos atuais desafios da sociedade, particularmente num período caracterizado por enorme turbulência resultante da pandemia COVID-19.

Resumen Marco contextual: La Escuela Superior de Enfermería de Coímbra, consciente del valor de las unidades de extensión en la articulación del trípode Enseñanza-Investigación-Extensión, cuenta en su estructura con la Unidad de Prestación de Servicios a la Comunidad y Coordinación de Actividades de Extensión Comunitaria (UPSCCAEC). Objetivo: Describir el trabajo desarrollado por la UPSCCAEC en 2019 y 2020, y destacar su capacidad de adaptación frente a la pandemia por COVID-19. Principales temas en análisis: La fuente de datos utilizada fueron los informes de las actividades realizadas en el marco de la UPSCCAEC en los años civiles de 2019 y 2020, y se realizó una comparación con los hallazgos en ambos años, los cuales se discutieron considerando el marco teórico disponible, la pandemia del COVID-19 y el impacto en las Instituciones de Educación Superior (IES), en sus procesos de formación, investigación y extensión. Conclusión: La actividad de la UPSCCAEC en estos años contribuyó a la afirmación de la institución, al desarrollo académico y constituyó un recurso de excelencia para responder a los desafíos actuales de la sociedad, particularmente en un período caracterizado por enormes turbulencias derivadas de la pandemia del COVID-19.

Abstract Background: Conventional dental care is often impossible in patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Non-collaborative behaviors, sometimes associated with aggressiveness, are usual justifications for premedication in this population. Thereby, this research focuses on the effects of oral midazolam versus oral ketamine plus midazolam as preanesthetic medication in ASD. Methods: The sample included 64 persons with ASD, aged 2-59 years, scheduled for dental care under general anesthesia. The primary objective of this study was to compare degrees of sedation between two parallel, double-blinded, equally proportional groups randomized to receive oral midazolam (0.5 mg.kg−1, maximum 15 mg) or oral midazolam (0.5 mg.kg−1) associated with oral S(+)-ketamine (3 mg.kg−1, maximum 300 mg). The secondary outcomes were the need of physical stabilization to obtain intravenous line, awakening time, and occurrence of adverse events. Results: According to the dichotomous analysis of sedation level (Ramsay score 1 and 2 versus Ramsay ≥ 3), oral association of S(+)-ketamine and midazolam improved sedation, with increased probability of Ramsay ≥ 3, Relative Risk (RR) = 3.2 (95% Confidence Interval [95% CI] = 1.32 to 7.76) compared to midazolam alone. Combined treatment also made it easier to obtain venous access without physical stabilization, RR = 2.05 (95% CI = 1.14 to 3.68). There were no differences between groups regarding awakening time and the occurrence of adverse events. Conclusion: The association of oral S(+)-ketamine with midazolam provides better preanesthetic sedation rates than midazolam alone and facilitates intravenous line access in patients with autism.

Abstract Background Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a deadly disease and increased intracranial pressure (ICP) is associated with worse outcomes in this context. Objective We evaluated whether dilated optic nerve sheath diameter (ONSD) depicted by optic nerve ultrasound (ONUS) at hospital admission has prognostic value as a predictor of mortality at 90 days. Methods Prospective multicenter study of acute supratentorial primary ICH patients consecutively recruited from two tertiary stroke centers. Optic nerve ultrasound and cranial computed tomography (CT) scans were performed at hospital admission and blindly reviewed. The primary outcome was mortality at 90-days. Multivariate logistic regression, ROC curve, and C-statistics were used to identify independent predictors of mortality. Results Between July 2014 and July 2016, 57 patients were evaluated. Among those, 13 were excluded and 44 were recruited into the trial. Their mean age was 62.3 ± 13.1 years and 12 (27.3%) were female. On univariate analysis, ICH volume on cranial CT scan, ICH ipsilateral ONSD, Glasgow coma scale, National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and glucose on admission, and also diabetes mellitus and current nonsmoking were predictors of mortality. After multivariate analysis, ipsilateral ONSD (odds ratio [OR]: 6.24; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.18–33.01; p = 0.03) was an independent predictor of mortality, even after adjustment for other relevant prognostic factors. The best ipsilateral ONSD cutoff was 5.6mm (sensitivity 72% and specificity 83%) with an AUC of 0.71 (p = 0.02) for predicting mortality at 90 days. Conclusion Optic nerve ultrasound is a noninvasive, bedside, low-cost technique that can be used to identify increased ICP in acute supratentorial primary ICH patients. Among these patients, dilated ONSD is an independent predictor of mortality at 90 days.

Resumo Antecedentes A hemorragia intraparenquimatosa (HIP) aguda apresenta elevada morbimortalidade e a presença de hipertensão intracraniana (HIC) confere um pior prognóstico. Objetivo Avaliamos se a dilatação do diâmetro da bainha do nervo óptico (DBNO) através do ultrassom do nervo óptico (USNO) na admissão hospitalar seria preditora de mortalidade. Métodos Estudo multicêntrico e prospectivo de pacientes consecutivos com HIP supratentorial primária aguda admitidos em dois centros terciários. Ultrassom do nervo óptico e tomografia computadorizada (TC) de crânio foram realizados na admissão e revisados de forma cega. O desfecho primário do estudo foi a mortalidade em 3 meses. Análises de regressão logística, curva de característica de operação do receptor (ROC, na sigla em inglês) e estatística-C foram utilizadas para identificação dos preditores independentes de mortalidade. Resultados Entre julho de 2014 e julho de 2016, 44 pacientes foram incluídos. A idade média foi 62,3 (±13,1) anos e 12 (27,3%) eram mulheres. Na análise univariada, o volume da HIP na TC de crânio, DBNO ipsilateral à HIP, glicemia, escala de coma de Glasgow (ECG) e NIHSS na admissão hospitalar, e também diabetes mellitus e não-tabagista foram preditores de mortalidade. Após análise multivariada, o DBNO ipsilateral à HIP permaneceu como preditor independente de mortalidade (odds ratio [OR]: 6,24; intervalo de confiança [IC] de 95%: 1,18–33,01; p = 0,03). O melhor ponto de corte do DBNO ipsilateral como preditor de mortalidade em 3 meses foi 5,6mm (sensibilidade 72% e especificidade 83%) e área sob a curva (AUC, na sigla em inglês) 0,71 (p = 0,02). Conclusão O USNO é um método não-invasivo, beira-leito, de baixo custo, que pode ser empregado para estimar a presença de HIC em pacientes com HIP supratentorial primária aguda. A presença de DBNO dilatada é um preditor independente de mortalidade em 3 meses nesses pacientes.

ABSTRACT The article aimed to report the immersion experience in the practice field of a Psychology student from Federal University of Pará, while participant in Projeto Multicampi Saúde: Atenção à Saúde da Criança, during the care provided to the guide-child, the family, and the community according to activities that had the purpose of training students and professionals of the service, directly in the Basic Health Unit (UBS) and adjacent territory. The trajectory traveled by the student was outlined, carried out in the municipality of Cametá, Pará, during June 2019, reporting the experience in six main activities: monitoring the Child’s Handbook use with the Unit’s professionals; construction of the Singular Therapeutic Plan for the guide child/family; mapping of the municipality’s mental health network; health education actions; listening groups; and training for the UBS professionals. The results show that the immersion experience in the territory, experiencing health care, was enriching in dimensions of teaching, service, and management. Immersion in the field of practice proved to be a powerful training space for future professionals, using the in-service training model.

RESUMO O artigo teve como objetivo relatar a experiência de imersão em campo de prática de estudante do Curso de Psicologia da Universidade Federal do Pará, enquanto participante do Projeto Multicampi Saúde: Atenção à Saúde da Criança, durante a realização do atendimento à criança-guia, à família e à comunidade de acordo com atividades que tiveram por finalidade a capacitação de estudantes e profissionais do serviço, diretamente na Unidade Básica de Saúde (UBS) e território adjacente. Delineou-se a trajetória percorrida pela estudante realizada no município de Cametá, Pará, durante o mês de junho de 2019, relatando a experiência em seis atividades principais: acompanhamento do uso da Caderneta da Criança com os profissionais da UBS; construção do Plano Terapêutico Singular para a criança/família-guia; mapeamento da rede de saúde mental do município; ações de educação em saúde; grupos de escuta; e capacitações para os profissionais da UBS. Os resultados mostram que a experiência de imersão no território, vivenciando o atendimento, foi enriquecedora nas dimensões do ensino, serviço e gestão. A imersão no campo de prática demonstrou ser potente espaço de formação dos futuros profissionais, utilizando-se do modelo de formação em serviço.

ABSTRACT Studies related to climate change and agricultural value chains have in common the growing concern on conserving water resources. Thus, the concept of the water footprint stands out, which measures the amount of water (in volume) necessary to produce a unit (in mass) of a given product. Among Brazilian agricultural activities, coffee farming emerges as one of the most important, even though the crop is sensitive to potential climatic changes, especially to the increase in temperature and periods of drought. An alternative to mitigate the effects of climate change is shade management, which is common in agroforestry systems. Therefore, the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of shade management on the water footprint of coffee activity in the region of “Matas de Minas”. The water footprint was calculated for the field and product processing phase. Despite reducing the evapotranspiration of the coffee plant, shade management provided an increase in the water footprint, since it decreased the crop yield. The water footprint data obtained are expressive, with a calculated value of 13,862 m3 t-1 for full sun management and 16,895 m3 t-1 for shade management, in which both are the most recommended for the agricultural sector.

Abstract Background Cardiotoxicity is the main complication related to cancer therapy. Studies indicate that global longitudinal strain is an early detector of subclinical dysfunction of the left ventricle, preceding the decline in ejection fraction (EF). However, the reproducibility of such methodology has not been tested outside specialized centers. Objectives To assess the frequency of subclinical cardiotoxicity and to compare global longitudinal strain and EF measurements during the clinical course of patients undergoing chemotherapy for breast cancer. Methods This was an observational prospective study of 78 adult women who underwent serial echocardiograms (baseline and 1, 3, and 6 months after the beginning of chemotherapy), to evaluate biplane and 3D EF and global longitudinal strain. Cardiotoxicity and subclinical dysfunction were defined according to American Society of Echocardiography/European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging criteria. Statistical significance was set at p < 0.05. Results The mean age of the patients was 50.1 ± 11.48 years. The frequency of subclinical cardiotoxicity (defined by global longitudinal strain) was 14.9% after 30 days of chemotherapy, 16.7% after 3 months, and 19.7% after 6 months, compared to 4.5%, 3%, and 6.6%, respectively, when clinical cardiotoxicity was determined according to EF. The group that developed subclinical cardiotoxicity by 30 days (group A) had a higher frequency of clinical cardiotoxicity at 3 months (p=0.028) and a lower mean biplane EF after 30 days (p= 0.036) than the group that showed no evidence of subclinical cardiotoxicity (group B). Conclusion Subclinical cardiotoxicity was frequent and began early, being associated with a drop in EF during the clinical course.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) barriers are well-understood in high-resource settings. However, they are under-studied in low-resource settings, where access is even poorer and the context is significantly different, including two-tiered healthcare systems and greater socioeconomic challenges. OBJECTIVE: To investigate differences in characteristics of patients attending publicly versus privately funded CR and their barriers to adherence. DESIGN AND SETTING: Observational, cross-sectional study in public and private CR programs offered in Brazil. METHODS: Patients who had been attending CR for ≥ 3 months were recruited from one publicly and one privately funded CR program. They completed assessments regarding sociodemographic and clinical characteristics and the CR Barriers Scale. RESULTS: From the public program, 74 patients were recruited, and from the private, 100. Participants in the public program had significantly lower educational attainment (P < 0.001) and lower socioeconomic status (P < 0.001). Participants in the private program had more cognitive impairment (P = 0.015), and in the public program more anxiety (P = 0.001) and depressive symptoms (P = 0.008) than their counterparts. Total barriers among public CR participants were significantly higher than those among private CR participants (1.34 ± 0.26 versus 1.23 ± 0.15/5]; P = 0.003), as were scores on 3 out of 5 subscales, namely: comorbidities/functional status (P = 0.027), perceived need (P < 0.001) and access (P = 0.012). CONCLUSION: Publicly funded programs need to be tailored to meet their patients’ requirements, through consideration of educational and psychosocial matters, and be amenable to mitigation of patient barriers relating to presence of comorbidities and poorer health status.

O objetivo do artigo é apresentar os resultados do estudo de avaliabilidade do Sistema de Informação da Atenção à Saúde Indígena (SIASI) e suas implicações para a gestão em saúde no nível local. O estudo foi desenvolvido com base nas seguintes etapas: descrição da intervenção, descrição dos usuários potenciais e análise de contexto (interno e externo). Para tanto, adotaram-se as seguintes técnicas de coleta de dados: análise documental, entrevistas com informantes-chave e oficina de trabalho. A modelização do SIASI no Distrito Sanitário Especial Indígena (DSEI) Alto Rio Solimões (Amazonas) e no DSEI Leste Roraima (Roraima) possibilitou a visualização esquemática do modo de funcionamento do sistema, considerando-se as peculiaridades do fluxo de informação descentralizado e centralizado. A análise de contexto aponta para o reconhecimento do SIASI como ferramenta para a organização do processo de trabalho das equipes multidisciplinares de saúde indígena (EMSI) e o acompanhamento da situação de saúde, ainda que ocorra baixa utilização das informações nos territórios. Entre os desafios, persistem os problemas de infraestrutura e a fragmentação das informações, provocando aumento do retrabalho na alimentação dos dados. Como potencialidade, destaca-se a criação do Painel SIASI Local, que gera relatórios dinâmicos e interativos sobre a situação de saúde. Conclui-se que a capacidade de utilização do SIASI como ferramenta de apoio à gestão pelo nível local pode ser potencializada com a ampliação do processo de descentralização do fluxo de informações.

The study was performed with the following stages: description of the intervention, description of potential users, and context analysis (internal and external). The following data collection techniques were adopted: document analysis, interviews with key informants, and a workshop. Modeling of the SIASI in the Special Indigenous Health District Upper Solimões River (Amazonas State) and Special Indigenous Health District Eastern Roraima (Roraima State) allowed a schematic view of the system’s mode of functioning, considering the peculiarities of the decentralized and centralized information flow. Context analysis pointed to acknowledgment of the SIASI as a tool for organization of the work process in the multidisciplinary indigenous health team (EMSI) and for follow-up of the health situation, despite low utilization of the information in the territories. Persistent challenges include infrastructure problems and fragmentation of information, causing an increase in rework in feeding the data. One key feature is the creation of the Local SIASI Panel, generating dynamic and interactive reports on the health situation. In conclusion, the capacity for use of the SIASI as a tool to support local management can be enhanced by expanding the decentralization of the information flow.

El objetivo del artículo es presentar los resultados del estudio de evaluabilidad del Sistema de Información de Atención en Salud al Indígena (SIASI) y sus implicaciones para la gestión sanitaria en el nivel local. El estudio se desarrolló en base a las siguientes etapas: descripción de la intervención, descripción de los usuarios potenciales y análisis de contexto (interno y externo). Para tal fin se adoptaron las siguientes técnicas de recogida de datos: análisis documental, entrevistas con informantes-clave y taller de trabajo. ABSTRACT Monkeypox virus (MPXV), a zoonotic virus endemic to the African continent, has been reported in 33 non-endemic countries since May 2022. We report an almost complete genome of the first confirmed case of MPXV in Brazil. Shotgun metagenomic sequencing was completed in 18 hours, from DNA extraction to consensus sequence generation.

ABSTRACT In 2022, an outbreak of monkeypox is being reported in non-endemic areas, with unusual clinical manifestations. The detailed clinical description of the first patient that received the diagnosis of monkeypox in Brazil is reported here, whose clinical manifestations can easily lead to misdiagnosis of sexually transmitted infections. A 41 years old male presented to an emergency room with a vesicular rash with eight days of evolution. He had traveled to Portugal and Spain and reported non-penetrative sexual involvement with three different male individuals. On the third day of symptoms, he sought medical care and received empirical treatment directed to sexually transmitted infections. As the symptoms did not improve, he sought medical attention at an infectious disease referral center presenting, on admission, an ulcerated penile lesion with central necrotic crusts, a disseminated pleomorphic skin rash and an oropharyngeal ulcer. The monkeypox diagnosis was suspected due to the characteristics of the lesions and the history of intimate contact with casual partners, and it was later confirmed by sequencing the almost complete monkeypox genome. The patient was hospitalized for pain control, which required opiate administration. He developed a secondary bacterial infection on the penile lesions, which were treated with oral antibiotics. He was discharged after 14 days, with lesions in process of re-epithelialization. Given the current outbreak, we must consider the possibility of monkeypox in patients with suggestive lesions, anywhere on the body (including the genitals), added to an epidemiological link or history of intimate contact with strangers or casual partners.

ABSTRACT Background: Despite optimized medical therapy, contemporary risk of surgery in inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) after 10 years of diagnosis is 9.2% in patients with ulcerative colitis (UC) and 26.2% in Crohn’s disease, (CD) in the biological era. Objective: This consensus aims to detail guidance to the most appropriate surgical procedures in different IBD scenarios. In addition, it details surgical indications and perioperative management of adult patients with CD and UC. Methods: Our consensus was developed by colorectal surgeons and gastroenterologists representing the Brazilian Study Group of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (GEDIIB), with the Rapid Review methodology being conducted to support the recommendations/statements. Surgical recommendations were structured and mapped according to the disease phenotypes, surgical indications, and techniques. After structuring the recommendations/statements, the modified Delphi Panel methodology was used to conduct the voting by experts in IBD surgery and gastroenterology. This consisted of three rounds: two using a personalized and anonymous online voting platform and one face-to-face presential meeting. Whenever participants did not agree with specific statements or recommendations, an option to outline possible reasons was offered to enable free-text responses and provide the opportunity for the experts to elaborate or explain disagreement. The consensus of recommendations/statements in each round was considered to have been reached if there was ≥80% agreement. Results and conclusion: This consensus addressed the most relevant information to guide the decision-making process for adequate surgical management of CD and UC. It synthesizes recommendations developed from evidence-based statements and state-of-art knowledge. Surgical recommendations were structured and mapped according to the different disease phenotypes, indications for surgery and perioperative management. Specific focus of our consensus was given to elective and emergency surgical procedures, determining when to indicate surgery and which procedures may be the more appropriate. The consensus is targeted to gastroenterologists and surgeons interested in the treatment and management of adult patients with CD or UC and supports decision-making of healthcare payors, institutional leaders, and/or administrators.

RESUMO Contexto: Apesar da terapia medicamentosa otimizada, o risco contemporâneo de cirurgia nas doenças inflamatórias intestinais (DII) após 10 anos do diagnóstico é de 9,2% em pacientes com retocolite ulcerativa (RCU) e de 26,2% na doença de Crohn (DC) na era biológica. Objetivo: Este consenso visa detalhar as orientações para os procedimentos cirúrgicos mais adequados em diferentes cenários da DII. Além disso, detalha as indicações cirúrgicas e o manejo perioperatório de pacientes adultos com DC e RCU. Métodos: Nosso consenso foi desenvolvido por cirurgiões colorretais e gastroenterologistas representantes da Organização Brasileira de Doença de Crohn e Colite (GEDIIB), com a metodologia de revisão rápida sendo conduzida para respaldar as recomendações. As recomendações cirúrgicas foram estruturadas e mapeadas de acordo com os fenótipos da doença, indicações cirúrgicas e técnicas. Após a estruturação das recomendações, a metodologia modificada do Painel Delphi foi utilizada para conduzir a votação por especialistas em cirurgia de DII e gastroenterologia. Esta consistiu em três rondas: duas com recurso a uma plataforma de votação online personalizada e anônima e uma reunião presencial. Sempre que os participantes não concordavam com afirmações ou recomendações específicas, era oferecida uma opção de delinear possíveis razões para permitir respostas em texto livre e dar a oportunidade para os especialistas elaborarem ou explicarem a discordância. O consenso de recomendações/declarações em cada rodada foi considerado alcançado se houve concordância ≥80%. Resultados e conclusão Este consenso abordou as informações mais relevantes para orientar o processo de tomada de decisão para o manejo cirúrgico adequado de DC e RCU. Ele sintetiza recomendações desenvolvidas a partir de evidências e conhecimento de alto nível. As recomendações cirúrgicas foram estruturadas e mapeadas de acordo com os diferentes fenótipos da doença, indicações para cirurgia e manejo perioperatório. O foco específico do nosso consenso foi dado aos procedimentos cirúrgicos eletivos e de emergência, determinando quando indicar a cirurgia e quais procedimentos podem ser os mais adequados. O consenso é direcionado a gastroenterologistas e cirurgiões interessados no tratamento e manejo de pacientes adultos com DC ou RCU e apoia a tomada de decisões de pagadores de saúde, líderes institucionais e/ou administradores.

Resumo O manuscrito discute as interfaces entre os campos acadêmico e prático da Saúde Global e da Saúde Planetária, lançando luz sobre algumas perspectivas críticas acerca das causas cumulativas e sinérgicas de crises globais e seus efeitos na saúde e segurança alimentar, nos direitos humanos, na migração e no ambiente. São apresentados os conceitos de Saúde Global e Saúde Planetária, e perspectivas para os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) no contexto de uma sindemia de crises globais, em particular a pandemia de COVID-19, cujas lições lançam luz sobre os desafios relacionados às doenças infecciosas, crise de insegurança alimentar e emergência climática. O manuscrito defende uma abordagem inovadora que, simultaneamente, amplie a consciência dos problemas interligados e de suas complexas causas e fomente o conhecimento emancipatório para enfrentar os desafios urgentes de uma agenda de pesquisa transdisciplinar visando enfrentar os enormes problemas planetários trazidos pelo Antropoceno. Reforça a necessidade de soluções práticas, com exemplos de soluções baseadas na natureza, e de uma reflexão coletiva sobre um caminho viável para promover mudanças para um futuro mais sustentável, equitativo e adaptável, preenchendo as lacunas da Saúde Global e Planetária.

Abstract The manuscript discusses interfaces between academic and practical fields of Global Health and Planetary Health, shedding light on some critical perspectives of cumulative and synergistic causes of global crises, and effects on health and food security, on human rights, on migration, and on environment. Concepts of Global Health and Planetary Health and the path for the Sustainable Development Goals -SDG in the context of the Syndemy of Global Crisis, in particular the COVID-19 pandemic, are presented. COVID-19 lessons highlight challenges of infectious diseases and pandemics of the crisis of food insecurity, and of climate emergency. The manuscript advocates for an innovative approach that simultaneously broader awareness of the interconnected problems and of their complex causes and calls for emancipatory knowledge to face urgent challenges for a transdisciplinary research agenda aiming to tackle enormous planetary problems brought by the Anthropocene. It calls for practical solutions, with examples of some nature-based. It highlights the need of a collective reflection on a viable path to promote changes for a more sustainable, equitable, and adaptive future, bridging gaps from Global and Planetary Health.
