A utilização imprópria dos recursos naturais e a intensificação do uso agropecuário desrespeitando a aptidão agrícola, sem levar em conta as potencialidades dos agroecossistemas, é uma das principais razões da degradação ambiental. Objetivou-se com esse trabalho estabelecer a aptidão agrícola das terras com o auxílio da análise multicritério no município de Itaberá-SP, discriminando as principais culturas anuais. O método empregado para a classificação das terras para o uso agrícola foi o Sistema de Avaliação da Aptidão Agrícola das Terras e adotou-se a metodologia fundamentada no uso de geotecnologias aplicando planos de informação como o uso da terra, solos, declividade, temperatura e dados pluviométricos. As variáveis foram combinadas utilizando álgebra de mapas por meio de técnica de combinação linear ponderada em que cada um deles foi estimado um fator condicionante à aptidão agrícola das terras. A normalização dos fatores deu-se com base das classes de aptidão que apresentam pesos que variam de um a quatro e a determinação dos pesos pelo método do Processo Hierárquico Analítico (AHP). Esta metodologia mostrou-se eficaz para a classificação da aptidão agrícola. A partir desse método permitiu assegura-se que a área de estudo apresenta em quase sua totalidade aptidão agrícola para as culturas do milho e da soja.

Improper use of natural resources and intensification of agricultural use, disrespecting land use capacity, without taking into account the potential of agroecosystems, is one of the main reasons for environmental degradation. The aim is to establish the land use capacity of lands by using multicriteria analysis at municipality of Itaberá-SP, discriminating main annual crops. The method used to classification of land for agricultural use was the Land Aptitude Assessment System and the methodology based on the use of geotechnologies was adopted, applying information plans such as land use, soil, slope, temperature and pluviometric data. These variables were combined using maps algebra using a weighted linear combination technique in which for each of them a conditioning factor that determines use capacity of the land was estimated. The normalization of the weights was based on the land use capacity classes that present scores ranging from one to four, and the determination of weights by the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP). This methodology proved to be effective for classification of land use capacity. By this method, it was possible to assure that the study area presents in almost totality land use capacity for corn and soybean crops.

El objetivo del trabajo fue definir las clases de capacidad de uso de 2.403,25 ha de la cuenca de la Corriente del Lobo - Itatinga (SP) (22° 03' 56" - 22° 59' 12" de latitud S y 48° 38' 47" - 48° 41' 25" de longitud O). La capacidad de uso de la tierra se obtuvo mediante el SIG-IDRISI 32 del cruzamiento de las cartas clinográfica y de suelos y de la Tabla de juzgamiento de clases de capacidad de uso de la tierra y del levantamiento utilitario del medio físico. Las áreas de las clases y subclases de capacidad de uso presentaron los siguientes valores: IIIa - 68.60 ha (2.85%), IIIe,s - 1919.15 ha (79.86%); IIIe - 210.60 ha (8.76%); IVe - 3.38 ha (0.14%); IVe,s - 157.42 ha (6.55%) y VIe,s - 44.10 ha (1.84%). Las tierras de la cuenca se distribuyeron en tres clases (III, IV y VI) y seis subclases, pero la mayor extensión (79.9%) pertenece a la subclase IIIe,s. Los módulos del IDRISI permitieron discriminar, mapear y cuantificar rápidamente la capacidad de uso de las áreas de las clases y subclases de la cuenca.

The objective of the research was to define the classes of use capacity of 2403.25 ha in the basin of the Corriente del Lobo - Itatinga (SP), (22°03'56" to 22°59'12" of latitude S and 48°38'47" to 48°41'25" of longitude W Gr.). The soil use capacity was obtained by using the SIG IDRISI 32 crossing the documents of steepness and soils and the document of judgment of classes of soil use capacity and of the utilitarian rising of the physical milieu. The classes and subclasses areas of use capacity presented the following values: IIIa - 68.60 ha (2.85%), IIIe,s - 1919.15 ha (79.86%); IIIe - 210.60 ha (8.76%); IVe - 3.38ha (0.14%); IVe,s - 157.42 ha (6.55%) and VIe,s - 44.10 ha (1.84%). The lands of the basin were distributed in three classes (III, IV and VI) and six subclasses but the biggest extension (79.9%) belonged to the subclass IIIe,s. The modules of the IDRISI allowed to discriminate, mapping and to quantify quickly the soil use capacity of the areas of classes and subclasses in the basin.

Objetiva-se, com este trabalho, obter curvas de nível a partir de fotografias aéreas verticais, utilizando-se de gráfico linear de correção, em áreas com diferentes classes de declividade. A análise estatística dos dados foi efetuada por meio de regressões múltiplas das variáveis, erro horizontal e erro vertical, em função das variáveis independentes: altitude; altitude e declividade. Os erros médios horizontais e verticais pouco dependem da altitude, bem como da altitude e declividade, induzindo à conclusão de que não há necessidade de se levar em conta compartimentos de relevo com declividades uniformes e constantes para o traçado das curvas de nível em aerofotos.

This study was conducted to obtain level curves from vertical aerial photographs, using linear graphics correction in areas with different slope classes. Statistical analysis of data was made by multiple regressions of horizontal and vertical deviation as a function of the following independent variables: altitude, altitude and slope. Vertical and horizontal deviations showed no significant dependence either on altitude or the altitude and slope, leading to the conclusion that there is no need to involve topography with uniform and constant slopes to obtain iso-level curves from aerophotos.

RESUMO O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar a evolução do uso da terra da bacia do Rio Lavapés, Botucatu, SP, no período de 27 anos, considerando-se cinco tipos de cobertura vegetal (mata, cerrado, café, cana-de-açúcar e reflorestamento) e tendo-se como base as fotografias aéreas verticais de 1962, em escala nominal aproximada de 1:25.000 e a imagem de satélite do LANDSAT-5 de 1989, em escala 1:50.000. Os resultados permitiram constatar que a cana-de-açúcar foi a única cobertura vegetal que apresentou expansão de área, sendo este domínio processado notadamente às expensas da redução de áreas com cerrado, mata, café e reflorestamento, refletindo o alto retorno econômico na implantação dos programas governamentais para o Proálcool, no período. O cerrado e o café, dentre as coberturas vegetais que apresentaram redução, foram as mais significativas nesse espaço de tempo; já as áreas com matas ocorreram geralmente nas partes altas do relevo, enquanto as com cerrado, cafezais, canaviais e reflorestamento, se situaram nas partes medianas; neste contexto, as coberturas vegetais foram, em ordem de predominância em 1989, cana-de-açúcar, mata, reflorestamento, cerrado e café.

ABSTRACT The present study aimed at evaluating the evolution of land use in the Lavapés river basin, Botucatu, São Paulo State, over a twenty-seven period, considering fíve kinds of vegetative covers (forest land, savanna rangeland coffee cropland, sugar cane and reforestation). The study was based on the vertical aerial photographs from 1962, in approximately 1:25.000 nominal scale, and on the LANDSAT-5 Multispectral Scanner 1989 images, in 1:50.000 scale. The analysis of the results revealed that sugar cane was the only vegetative cover that had an area expansion, which was due to reduction in coffee cropland, forestland, reforestation and savanna rangeland, refleting the high economic return in the establishment of governamental programs for Proalcohol. The savanna rangeland and coffee cropland showed more reductions in areas than the others. It was observed that, in general, forestland occurred mostly in the higher parts of the sloping area, while savanna rangelands, coffee croplands, sugar canes and reforestation occurred mostly in the intermediate parts. In this context, during 1989 the predominating vegetative cover sequence was sugar cane, forestland, reforestation, savanna rangeland and coffee cropland.
