Abstract This article analyzes the factors that restrict the availability of educational data. Focusing on secondary school, the article demonstrates that most of those municipalities and schools which, in 2022, did not have data available for the Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica [Basic Education Assessment System] (Saeb), either presented low average proficiency indicators in 2019, or did not have data available in 2019. By means of logistic regression, the article demonstrates that the likelihood of a municipality achieving the minimum participation rate for the Saeb, in 2022, was greater amongst those with a high average proficiency in 2019, a greater number of enrollments, and more effective responses to the Covid-19 pandemic. The results demonstrate a reproduction of educational inequalities in the availability of data.

Résumé Cet article analyse les facteurs qui conditionnent la disponibilité des données sur l’éducation. Centré sur l’enseignement secondaire, l’article montre que les municipalités et les écoles qui, en 2022, ne disposaient pas de données à intégrer dans le Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica [Système d’évaluation de l’enseignement de base] (Saeb) avaient, pour la plupart, de faibles indicateurs moyens de performance en 2019, ou ne disposaient pas de données en 2019. À l’aide d’une régression logistique, l’article montre que la probabilité qu’une municipalité atteigne le taux de participation minimum requis par le Saeb en 2022 était plus élevé parmi celles avec un indicateur moyen de performance élevé en 2019, un plus grand nombre d’inscriptions scolaires et des réponses plus efficaces à la pandémie de covid-19. Les résultats indiquent une reproduction des inégalités éducatives dans la disponibilité des données.

Resumen Este artículo analiza cuales factores condicionan la disponibilidad de los datos educativos. Centrándose en la educación secundaria, el artículo demuestra que los municipios y las escuelas que, en 2022, no contaban con datos disponibles para el Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica [Sistema de Evaluación de la Educación Básica] (Saeb) presentaron, en su mayoría, bajos indicadores en el promedio de competencia en 2019, o tampoco tenían datos disponibles en 2019. Por medio de una regresión logística, el artículo demuestra que la probabilidad de que un municipio haya alcanzado la tasa mínima de participación para el Saeb, en 2022, fue mayor entre aquellos con alto promedio de competencia en 2019, mayor cantidad de matrículas y respuestas más efectivas a la pandemia de covid-19. Los resultados indican una reproducción de las desigualdades educativas en la disponibilidad de los datos.

Resumo Este artigo analisa quais fatores condicionam a disponibilidade dos dados educacionais. Com foco no ensino médio, o artigo demonstra que os municípios e as escolas que, em 2022, não tinham dados disponíveis para o Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica (Saeb) apresentaram, em sua maioria, baixos indicadores médios de proficiência em 2019, ou também não tinham dados disponíveis em 2019. Por meio de uma regressão logística, o artigo demonstra que a probabilidade de um município ter alcançado a taxa mínima de participação para o Saeb, em 2022, foi maior entre aqueles com alta proficiência média em 2019, maior quantidade de matrículas e respostas mais efetivas à pandemia de covid-19. Os resultados indicam uma reprodução das desigualdades educacionais na disponibilidade dos dados.

RESUMO Estudos de remoção de fósforo de efluentes por sorção em resíduos têm ganhado destaque na literatura. Entre estes resíduos, destaca-se o lodo de estação de tratamento de água rico em oxi-hidróxidos de alumínio e ferro. O presente estudo teve como objetivos remover, por sorção, fosfato de esgoto sanitário em reator de escoamento ascendente preenchido com lodo de estação de tratamento de água e comparar a cultura de milho submetida a diferentes fontes de fósforo: adubação convencional (Fonte 1); adubação convencional e lodo de estação de tratamento de água utilizado na sorção do fosfato (Fonte 2); e lodo de lodo de estação de tratamento de água utilizado na sorção do fosfato (Fonte 3). A remoção do fosfato, a partir do lodo de estação de tratamento de água, ocorreu nos três testes. No ensaio de sorção, após tempo de detenção hidráulica de 2,8 h, verificou-se remoção média de 96% de fosfato. Em relação ao aporte de fósforo por diferentes fontes, verificou-se que o emprego do lodo, nos tratamentos Fonte 2 e 3, aumentou o teor de matéria orgânica do solo e proporcionou maior tamponamento dele. Os teores foliares de macro e micronutrientes na cultura apresentaram valores satisfatórios, apesar da senescência de algumas plantas em Fonte 2 e 3. O reaproveitamento do lodo, nas doses aplicadas, foi suficiente para que o material vegetal analisado atingisse teores de chumbo consideráveis, o qual deve ser monitorado na utilização do resíduo no cultivo agrícola.

ABSTRACT Studies on the removal of phosphorus from effluents by sorption in residues have gained prominence in the literature. Among these residues, there is the sludge from a water treatment plant rich in oxyhydroxides of Aluminum and iron. The present study aimed to remove, by sorption, phosphate from sanitary sewage in upflow reactor filled with water treatment plant sludge, and to compare the corn crop subjected to different phosphorus sources: conventional fertilization (Source 1); conventional fertilization and water treatment plant sludge used in the sorption of phosphate (Source 2) and water treatment plant sludge used in the sorption of phosphate (Source 3). Removal of phosphate from the water treatment plant sludge occurred in all three tests. In the sorption assay, after 2.8 h hydraulic retention time, there was an average removal of 96% of phosphate. Regarding the contribution of phosphorus by different sources, it was found that the use of sludge, in treatments Source 2 and 3, increased the content of organic matter in the soil and provided greater buffering. The leaf contents of macro and micronutrients in the crop showed satisfactory values, despite the senescence of some plants in Source 2 and 3. The reuse of the sludge, in the applied doses, was enough for the analyzed plant material to reach considerable lead contents, which must be monitored when using the residue in agricultural cultivation.

Abstract The Seis Lagos Carbonatite Complex hosts a lateritic deposit developed over a siderite carbonatite. In the 1980’s, it was estimated to contain 2.89 Bt @ 2.81 wt% Nb2O5. Recent studies have produced new data allowing re-evaluation of the area’s mineral potential. In this work, a geological model has been constructed and new estimates of grades and tonnages are presented. The volume of cavities that occur in the lateritic crust is still unknown, and it was then segmented in possible scenarios ranging from 0 to 63%, impacting estimates of tonnage. The estimations were divided into two domains that vary according to the available data. In Domain 1, it has been estimated between 10.5-28.3 Mt @ 2.97 wt% Nb2O5 and 0.71 wt% REE2O3, and in Domain 2, between 1.40-3.78 Bt @ 1.17 wt% Nb2O5 and 0.46 wt% REE2O3. High grades of Ti, Sn and W were also detected for the lateritic crust. It is estimated that sediments in the Esperança Basin contain 11.8 Mt @ 1.76 wt% REE2O3 and 2.36 wt% P2O5, whereas the siderite carbonatite shows high grades of Nb, REE, Sc and Zn, further increasing the area’s mineral potential. Soil grids on neighboring hills do not show similarly high Nb grades, but do present high grades of REE and P.

Abstract Objective: To compare quantitative CT parameters between children with severe asthma and healthy subjects, correlating to their clinical features. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed CT data from 19 school-aged children (5-17 years) with severe asthma and 19 control school-aged children with pectus excavatum. The following CT parameters were evaluated: total lung volume (TLV), mean lung density (MLD), CT air trapping index (AT%) (attenuation ≤856 HU), airway wall thickness (AWT), and percentage of airway wall thickness (AWT%). Multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) data were correlated to the following clinical parameters: forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1), forced vital capacity (FVC), forced expiratory flow at 25-75% (FEF 25-75%), FEV1/FVC ratio, sputum and bronchoalveolar lavage analysis, serum IgE levels, and previous hospitalizations due to asthma. Results: Asthma patients presented higher mean values of AT% (23.8 ± 6.7% vs. controls, 9.7 ± 3.2%), AWT (1.46 ± 0.22 mm vs. controls, 0.47 ± −735 ± 28 HU vs. controls, −666 ± 19 HU). Mean AT% was 29.0 ± 4.7% in subjects with previous hospitalization against 19.2 ± 5.0% in those with no prior hospitalization (p < 0.001). AT% presented very strong negative correlations with FVC (r = −0.933, p < 0.001) and FEV1 (r = −0.841, p < 0.001) and a moderate correlation with FEF 25-75% (r = −0.608, p = 0.007). AT% correlation with FEV1/FVC ratio and serum IgE was weak (r = −0.184, p = 0.452, and r = −0.363, p = 0.202) Conclusion: Children with severe asthma present differences in quantitative chest CT scans compared to healthy controls with strong correlations with pulmonary function tests and previous hospitalizations due to asthma.

Abstract The Neotropical ruteline genus Pelidnota MacLeay currently includes 194 species and subspecies with a few described preimaginal stages. Here we describe the pupa of Pelidnota granulata (Gory, 1834), provide illustrations, comparative notes on other known pupae of Rutelini and comments on its geographical distribution. The key to known pupae of Rutelini is updated.

RESUMO Objetivo Analisar as características socioeconômicas e o perfil de saúde auditiva de trabalhadores rurais do semiárido nordestino. Métodos Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo transversal descritivo, realizado com 88 indivíduos de ambos os gêneros, que executavam atividades em meio rural há, pelo menos, um ano. A primeira etapa do estudo correspondeu à aplicação de questionários a respeito do perfil socioeconômico e de saúde; a segunda etapa consistiu na avaliação audiológica dos trabalhadores rurais. Resultados Observou-se diferença significativa entre os indivíduos com resultado normal e perda auditiva na audiometria, de acordo com o gênero, faixa etária, jornada de trabalho e dificuldade auditiva. Além disso, verificou-se correlação positiva entre os valores das audiometrias e a idade dos pacientes, em todas as frequências analisadas, principalmente nas mais agudas. Conclusão As características inerentes ao trabalho no campo podem afetar negativamente a saúde auditiva. É importante conhecer a realidade da população rural, na perspectiva de garantir não só o diagnóstico situacional, mas também medidas de promoção, proteção e prevenção referentes à saúde auditiva desses trabalhadores.

ABSTRACT Purpose Analyze the socioeconomic characteristics and the hearing health profile of rural workers in the semiarid Northeast. Methods This is a descriptive cross-sectional quantitative study conducted with 88 individuals of both sexes who performed activities in rural areas for at least one year. The first stage of the study corresponded to the application of questionnaires regarding the socioeconomic and health profile, the second stage consisted of the audiological assessment of rural workers. Results A significant difference was observed between individuals with normal results and hearing loss in audiometry according to gender, age group, working hours and hearing impairment. In addition, a positive correlation was observed between the values of the audiometry and the age of the patients, in all frequencies analyzed, but mainly in the higher frequencies. Conclusion The present study established the audiometric and socioeconomic profile of rural workers and demonstrated that the characteristics inherent to working in the field can negatively affect hearing health. It is important to know the reality of this population from the perspective of guaranteeing not only the situational diagnosis, but also measures to promote, protect and prevent hearing health among agricultural workers.

RESUMO A fêmea previamente desconhecida de Spodochlamys marahuaca Jameson & Ratcliffe, 2011 é descrita e ilustrada pela primeira vez com base em dois espécimes coletados na região do Rio Juruá, Amazonas, Brasil. Os espécimes constituem um novo registro para o país. A chave de identificação para as espécies de Spodochlamys é atualizada, bem como a distribuição geográfica das duas outras espécies brasileiras, S. caesarea Burmeister e S. iheringi Ohaus.

ABSTRACT The previously unknown female of Spodochlamys marahuaca Jameson & Ratcliffe, 2011 is described and illustrated for the first time based on two specimens collected in the region of the Juruá River, Amazonas state, Brazil. The specimens constitute a new record for Brazil. The identification key for species of Spodochlamys is updated, as well as the geographic distribution of the other two Brazilian species, S. caesarea Burmeister and S. iheringi Ohaus.

RESUMO Existem diversos estudos para avaliação das características químicas dos fertilizantes minerais recobertos por polímeros, porém, são escassas as pesquisas que avaliam a eficiência agronômica dos mesmos a campo na cultura da cenoura. Dessa forma, objetivou-se avaliar o uso de fertilizante fosfatado de eficiência aumentada (Policote) na cultura da cenoura (Daucus carota). O trabalho foi realizado em condições de campo no município de Ipameri-GO. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos ao acaso, arranjados em esquema fatorial (5x2)+1, sendo cinco doses de fósforo (150, 300, 450, 600 e 750 ha-1 kg de P2O5), duas fontes de P {MAP (monoamonio fosfato) convencional e MAP revestido por polímero} além de um tratamento adicional (testemunha, sem P). Foram avaliados a altura de plantas, comprimento e diâmetro de raiz, além da produtividade total e classes comerciais das raízes, eficiência agronômica da adubação fosfatada e teor de P nas raízes. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância e regressão. A adubação fosfatada não influenciou o teor de P nas raízes da cenoura, mas aumentou a altura de plantas, o comprimento, o diâmetro e a produtividade de raízes de cenoura. O adubo fosfatado revestido com polímero aumentou a altura de plantas, o comprimento e a produtividade de raízes de cenoura, em relação ao adubo sem revestimento. A produtividade de cenoura foi, em média, 15,5% maior com a fonte de P revestida (39,42 t ha-1), em relação à fonte convencional (34,11 t ha-1). Também verificou-se melhoria nos padrões comerciais das raízes com a utilização do adubo fosfatado revestido. O revestimento do adubo fosfatado com o polímero da marca Policote aumentou a eficiência agronômica da adubação fosfatada na cultura da cenoura.

ABSTRACT Several studies were carried out to evaluate polymer-coated mineral fertilizers; however, few studies, on the agronomic efficiency of these fertilizers in the field in carrot crop, are available. Thus, we aimed to evaluate the use of enhanced-efficiency phosphorus fertilizer coated with polymers in carrot (Daucus carota). The experiment was carried out in field, in Ipameri-GO. The experimental design was randomized blocks, arranged in an incomplete factorial design (5x2)+1, considering five phosphorus doses (150, 300, 450, 600 and 750 ha-1 kg P2O5), two P sources [conventional MAP (monoammonium phosphate) and polymer-coated MAP (Policote)] and one additional treatment (control, without P). The evaluated traits were plant height, root length, root diameter, total productivity, marketable root classes, agronomic efficiency of phosphate fertilization and P content in the roots. Data were submitted to analysis of variance and regression. Phosphate fertilization did not influence the P content in carrot roots, but increased plant height, root length and diameter and yield of carrot roots. Polymer-coated phosphate increased plant height, length, diameter and productivity of carrot roots, when compared to conventional fertilizer. Carrot productivity was, on average, 15.5% higher with polymer-coated P source (39.42 t ha-1) than with the conventional P source (34.11 t ha-1). Marketable roots were also improved with the use of polymer-coated phosphate fertilizer. Phosphate fertilizer coated with polymer increased the agronomic efficiency of phosphate fertilization in the carrot crop.

Abstract Pupae of chafer beetle (Melolonthidae) Cnemida retusa (Fabricius, 1801) (Rutelinae, Rutelini) were collected in October and November of 2017 in a decaying log at Reserva Florestal Adolpho Ducke, Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil, and are described and illustrated. The pupa description is the first to the genus and a key to known pupae of Rutelini is added.
