RESUMO Crianças com deficiência múltipla sensorial podem não desenvolver a linguagem de forma efetiva, pois a combinação de deficiências tende a reduzir a participação em seu meio e prejudicar o desenvolvimento da linguagem. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi analisar os processos interacionais, ou seja, os comportamentos de atenção (atenção à pessoa, atenção ao objeto e atenção conjunta) e comunicativos, entre uma aluna com deficiência múltipla sensorial (4 anos e 6 meses de idade) e sua professora, especializada na área da surdocegueira e deficiência múltipla sensorial. Os dados foram coletados durante atividades em sala de aula, por meio de observação participante e de gravações audiovisuais da interação/díade, e analisados com auxilio do programa ATLAS.TI. Os resultados apontaram que a aluna apresentou atenção ao objeto, em atividades que envolveram música e ritmo. Como potencial forma de comunicação não verbal, observou-se olhar, movimentos corporais e vocalização. As formas de comunicação da professora foram verbal, toque, visual, auditiva (ritmo) e sinais de Língua Brasileira de Sinais. A aluna apresentou potenciais trocas de turnos apenas quando a ação foi iniciada pela professora. A qualidade das atividades, os materiais utilizados e a participação mostraram ter impacto sobre os níveis de atenção e comunicação. Mais pesquisas devem considerar esses resultados, como forma de definir quais as atividades que podem contribuir para apoiar o desenvolvimento e a qualidade de vida das crianças com deficiência múltipla sensorial. Assim, professor e fonoaudiólogo devem conhecer a forma como cada criança se comunica e manterem-se alertas para os comportamentos não verbais, a fim de estabelecerem uma comunicação efetiva.

ABSTRACT Children with multiple sensory disabilities may not develop the language effectively, given that the combination of disabilities tends to reduce their participation in the environment and harm language development. The objective of this research was to analyze the interaction processes, i.e., the attention (attention to the person, attention to the object and joint attention) and communicative behaviors between a student with multiple disabilities (age: 4 years and 6 months) and her teacher specialized in the field of sensory multiple disabilities. The data were collected during activities in the classroom, through participant observations and audiovisual recordings of teacher/child interactions and analyzed with the ATLAS.TI program. The results indicated that the student showed attention to the object in activities involving music and rhythm. As potential forms of nonverbal communication it was observed eye gaze body movement and vocalizations. The teacher forms of communication were verbal, touch, visual, auditory (rhythm) and Brazilian Sign Language. The student presented potential turn-taking only when the action was initiated by the teacher. The quality of the activities, the materials used and the participation showed to have impact on the levels of attention and communication. More researches should consider these results as a way to define which activities that can contribute to support the development and quality of life of children with sensory multiple disabilities. Thus, teacher and speech/language therapist should know the way each child communicates and to be alert to nonverbal behaviors as a way to establish effective communication.

Objetivo : Verificar a relação entre distúrbio de voz e sintomas de disfunção temporomandibular em professores do ensino fundamental. Métodos : Participaram deste estudo 138 professores, 96 do gênero feminino e 42 do gênero masculino, com média de idade de 38 anos. Os professores responderam questionário, com cinco questões de autorreferência à presença de alteração de voz no presente e sintomas de disfunção temporomandibular. Os dados foram analisados por meio de teste de associação (Qui-quadrado) para verificar associação entre distúrbio de voz e sintomas de disfunção temporomandibular, além da relação de cada um deles quanto a gênero e idade. Resultados : Os sintomas de disfunção temporomandibular relatados pelos professores foram: dor de cabeça ou na face, dor ao final do dia e dor ao falar muito. Os resultados mostraram diferença significativa para os sintomas de dor ao falar muito, dor ao final do dia e estalido na articulação temporomandibular, em professores sem distúrbio de voz. Houve diferença significativa para o gênero feminino, quanto a distúrbio de voz. Constatou-se maior número de autorreferência à disfunção temporomandibular, quando comparado ao distúrbio de voz, com diferença significativa para o gênero feminino. Conclusão : Os achados apontam associação estatística entre distúrbio de voz e sintomas de disfunção temporomandibular, em professores. Destaca-se a importância de outras pesquisas com avaliação clínica integrada, para aprofundar dados referentes a sintomas vocais e DTM, em relação à idade.

Purpose : To verify the relationship between voice disorder and temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD) in elementary and middle school teachers. Methods : The participants of this study were 138 teachers - 96 women and 42 men, with a mean age of 38 years. The teachers responded to a questionnaire with five questions on voice disorder and temporomandibular dysfunction symptoms. The data were analyzed using an association test (Chi-square) to verify the association between voice disorder and temporomandibular dysfunction symptoms, as well as the relationship of the symptoms with sex and age. Results : The temporomandibular dysfunction symptoms reported by the teachers, from the most to least frequently mentioned, were as follows: headache or facial pain, pain at the end of the day, and pain when speaking excessively. The results showed a statistically significant difference for the symptom pain when speaking excessively, pain at the end of the day, and temporomandibular joint snap in teachers without voice disorder. A statistically significant difference was observed for the female sex, regarding temporomandibular dysfunction. Temporomandibular dysfunction was more frequently reported than voice disorder, with higher incidence in female than in male teachers. Conclusion : The findings showed a statistical association between voice disorder and temporomandibular dysfunction in teachers. Further studies with integrated clinical assessment on the relationship between voice symptoms and TMD in different age groups are warranted.

O objetivo deste relato de caso foi investigar o sentido atribuído à voz de professores especializados na área de deficiência visual e sua prática em sala de aula. Participaram oito professoras, divididas em três grupos: quatro videntes, duas com visão subnormal e duas professoras cegas. Foram realizadas entrevistas individuais, com todas as participantes, que responderam a seis perguntas semidirecionadas, previamente elaboradas, que abordaram o tema da comunicação entre professor especializado e o aluno com deficiência visual, no ambiente de sala de aula. Depois de transcritas e analisadas, foram estabelecidas três categorias de respostas: o trabalho da professora, vivência diária, e apoios necessários. A atuação pedagógica subsidia-se nos princípios de fornecer todos os possíveis detalhes e informações a respeito do conteúdo, adaptar materiais, orientar quanto à mobilidade, entre outros, por meio dos recursos vocais e corporais. A importância da voz para o desenvolvimento de uma pessoa com deficiência visual foi explicitada nos relatos que a consideram essencial para a convivência no contexto social e escolar. Observou-se a importância da interação, em sala de aula, favorecida pelos recursos vocais e corporais, tanto das professoras quanto dos alunos, para haver uma comunicação mais clara e objetiva. O sentido atribuído à voz, de acordo com as participantes, contribuiu para reconhecê-la como principal meio de comunicação com seus alunos.

The aim of this case report was to investigate the meaning attributed to the voice and its practice in the classroom by teachers specialized in the field of visual impairment. Participants were eight teachers, divided into three groups: four sighted teachers, two teachers with low vision, and two blind teachers. Each subject was interviewed individually, answering six semi-directed questions which were previously prepared, about the communication between the specialized teacher and visually impaired students in the classroom environment. After the interviews were transcribed and analyzed, the answers yielded three categories: the teacher's work, daily experiences, and necessary support. The educational approach is based on the principles of providing all possible details and information about the content, adapting supplies, providing guidance with regards to mobility, among others, using body and vocal resources. The importance of the voice for the development of a visually impaired person was explicit in the reports which consider it essential so that this individual can coexist in his social and educational context. It was observed the importance of classroom interaction, favored by body and vocal resources, both for teachers and students, in order to provide a clearer and more objective communication. The meaning attributed to the voice by the participants contributed to its recognition as the main mean of communication between teacher and students.
