Abstract The main objective of this research is to analyze and relate lineament patterns to the occurrence of mass movements in the municipality of Vitória (Espírito Santo, Brazil). The methodology used consists of cabinet and field analyses. In a cabinet, Lineament Maps were made from the manual extraction technique, using ArcGIS 10.5 tools, on a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with different artificial lighting (scale 1:110000) and Digital Orthophotos (scale 1:25000) and orientation rosettes generated. In the field, the geological structures were identified and analyzed from the lineaments identified in the cabinet, and their orientations were measured (Brunton compass). These data were integrated and analyzed from the Municipal Civil Defense mass movements records, referring to the period between 2006 and 2020. It was possible to verify the orientation patterns of dominant geological structures in the area (NNW-SSE and NW-SE, followed by NE-SW), including all measured fractures. At the regional scale, more mass movements occurred near NNW-SSE, NW-SE, and NE-SW orientation lineaments. At the local scale, these processes occurred more frequently in the vicinity of NNW-SSE, NNE-SSW, and NE-SW orientation lineaments. Data analysis demonstrates the important relationship between lineaments and occurrences of mass movements with regional geological structures and neotectonic events of the Espírito Santo in altered rocks of the Precambrian basement and Cenozoic deposits. The data revealed an association between the density of geological structures and the occurrence of mass movements since the increase in density is directly proportional to these processes, except for the Very High -density class, which presented little area representation.

Resumo Essa pesquisa tem como objetivo principal analisar e relacionar os padrões de lineamentos com a ocorrência de movimentos de massa no município de Vitória (Espírito Santo, Brasil). A metodologia utilizada se constitui em análises de gabinente e de campo. Em gabinente, foram confeccionados Mapas de lineamentos a partir da técnica de extração manual, utilizando ferramentas do ArcGIS 10.5, sobre um Modelo Digital de Elevação (MDE) com diferentes iluminações artificiais (escala 1:110000) e Ortofotos Digitais (escala 1:25000) e geradas rosetas de orientação. Em campo, as estruturas geológicas foram identificadas e analisadas a partir dos lineamentos identificados em gabinete e suas orientações foram medidas (bússola brunton). Estes dados foram integrados e analisados a partir dos registros de movimentos de massa da Defesa Civil Municipal, referentes ao período entre 2006 e 2020. Foi possível verificar os padrões de orientação de estruturas geológicas dominantes na área (NNW-SSE e NW-SE, seguidos por NE-SW), contemplando todas as fraturas medidas. Na escala regional, ocorreram mais movimentos de massa nas proximidades de lineamentos de orientações NNW-SSE, NW-SE e NE-SW. Na escala local esses processos ocorreram com mais frequência nas proximidades de lineamentos de orientações NNW-SSE, NNE-SSW e NE-SW. A análise dos dados demonstra a importante relação entre os lineamentos e as ocorrências de movimentos de massa com as estruturas geológicas regionais e os eventos neotectônicos do estado do Espírito Santo, nas rochas alteradas do embasamento pré-cambriano e nos depósitos cenozoicos. Os dados revelaram a associação entre a densidade de estruturas geológicas e a ocorrência dos movimentos de massa, uma vez que o aumento da densidade é diretamente proporcional ao de ocorrência destes processos, com exceção da classe de densidade Muito Alta, que apresentou pouca representação espacial.

Abstract The main objective of this research is to investigate the lithostructural, tectonic, and neotectonic control on the relief of the Pancas region (Espírito Santo, Southeastern Brazil). The methodology was organized into computer and field analyses. In a computer, lineament and structural trend maps were generated from the manual extraction technique using editing tools of ArcGIS 10.3.1™ software (ESRI, 2012) over a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) with different artificial illumination (scale 1:110.000) and orientation rosettes were generated. The geological and geomorphological maps were organized/elaborated with ArcGIS from the Geographic Information System (GIS). The cartographic bases were configured in the UTM projection system, and DATUM SIRGAS 2000, zone 24S, and later analyzed and compared with the data of the orientations of the dedicated lineaments, with the orientation of the studied outcrop failures and with the existing literature. The results presented NW-SE/NNW-SSE and NE-SW/NNE-SSW orientations, with the predominance of NNW-SSE and NW-SE orientations identified in the analysis of the lineaments and structural trends, similar to the orientations of the geological faults and neotectonic faults present in the studied area, reflecting the regional structuring of the area, presenting the same orientations as the Colatina Belt. The secondary orientations of the Araçuaí Orogen (NE-SW), the identification of morphotectonic features, the presence of abrupt topographic differences (topographic profiles), and the identification of tectonic regions (base surface map) and tectonic blocks (scanning profile) demonstrate the tectonic control in the relief of the Pancas-ES region, achieving the objective of this research.

Resumo Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal investigar o controle litoestrutural, tectônico e neotectônico no relevo da região de Pancas (Espírito Santo, Sudeste do Brasil). A metodologia foi organizada em análises de gabinete e de campo. Em gabinete foram gerados mapas de lineamentos e de trends estruturais, a partir da técnica de extração manual, utilizando ferramentas de edição do software ArcGIS 10.3.1™ (ESRI, 2012), sobre um Modelo Digital de Elevação (MDE) com diferentes iluminações artificiais (escala 1:110.000) e geradas rosetas de orientação. Os mapas geológicos e geomorfológicos foram organizados/elaborados com o ArcGIS, a partir do Sistema de Informações Geográficas (SIG) e as bases cartográficas foram configuradas no sistema de projeção UTM e DATUM SIRGAS 2000, zona 24S, posteriormente analisados e comparados com os dados das orientações dos lineamentos decalcados, com a orientação das falhas de afloramentos estudados e com a literatura existente. Os resultados apresentaram orientações NW-SE/NNW-SSE e NE-SW/NNE-SSW, com a predominância das orientações NNW-SSE e NW-SE identificadas na análise dos lineamentos e dos trends estruturais, semelhantes com as orientações das falhas geológicas e das falhas neotectônicas presentes na área estudada, refletindo a estruturação regional da área, apresentando as mesmas orientações da Faixa Colatina. As orientações secundárias do Orógeno Araçuaí (NE-SW), a identificação de feições morfotectônicas, a presença de diferenças topográficas abruptas (perfis topográficos), a identificação de regiões tectônicas (mapa de superfície de bases) e de blocos tectônicos (perfil em varredura) demonstram o controle tectônico no relevo da região de Pancas-ES, atingindo o objetivo desta pesquisa.

RESUMO Este estudo tem como objetivo principal caracterizar a cobertura e morfologia dos solos de uma depressão e levantar hipóteses de sua origem. A base metodológica utilizada foi a Análise Estrutural da Cobertura Pedológica integrando o reconhecimento da cobertura pedológica a partir de 4 (quatro) etapas: i) Levantamento topográfico; ii) Tradagens; iii) Elaboração de toposequência e; iv) Abertura de trincheira. Com base no reconhecimento da cobertura pedológica realizado e na elaboração de um mapa de formas de relevo da área, a partir de técnicas de fotointerpretação em fotografia aérea, foi possível identificar a existência de pequenas áreas deprimidas alinhadas no fundo da depressão. A toposequência elaborada mostrou que a cobertura pedológica apresenta oito (8) horizontes de solo e um desnível de aproximadamente 9 m do topo da vertente até o início da depressão. O avanço do horizonte gley e a intercalação de áreas deprimidas com áreas mais elevadas, desde a depressão, seguindo a montante na vertente, pode ser indício de uma evolução remontante (de jusante para montante) da depressão. A origem da depressão pode estar relacionada à perda de material por dissolução geoquímica. Foi possível estabelecer 6 (seis) estágios de evolução da depressão.

ABSTRACT This study aims to characterize the morphology of the soil cover and a depression and hypotheses of its origin. The methodological basis was a Structural Coverage Analysis Pedologic integrating the recognition of soil cover from four (4) steps: i) topographic survey; ii) auger; iii) elaboration of toposequency; iv) opening trench. Based on the recognition of realized and pedological cover the preparation of a map of landforms in the area, from photointerpretation techniques in aerial photography, it was possible to identify the existence of small depressed areas aligned in the bottom of the depression. The elaborate toposequency showed that soil cover features eight (8) soil horizons and a vertical drop of approximately 9 m from the top of the slope to the onset of depression. The advancement of gley horizon and merge depressed areas with higher elevations, from depression, following upstream in shed may be a sign of a remontant evolution (from downstream to upstream) of depression. The origin of depression may be related to loss of material due to geochemical dissolution. It was possible to establish six (6) stages of evolution of depression.
