Abstract We present our recently-built experimental setup designed to generate near-infrared and narrow-band correlated photon pairs by inducing four-wave mixing in a cold gas of 87Rb atoms confined in a magneto-optical trap. The experimental setup and its automation and control approach are described in detail. A characterization of the optical density of the atomic ensemble as well as the basic statistical measurements of the generated light are reported. The non-classical nature of the photon pairs is confirmed by observing a violation of Cauchy-Schwarz inequality by a factor of 5.6 × 10-5 in a Hanbury Brown - Twiss interferometer. A 1/e coherence time for the heralded, idler photons of 44 ± 0.1 ns is estimated from our observations. We are able to achieve a value of 104 s-1 pair-detection-rate, which results in a spectral brightness of 280 (MHz s)-1. The combination of high brightness and narrow-band spectrum makes this photon-pair source a viable tool in fundamental studies of quantum states and opens the door to use them in quantum technologies.

ABSTRACT The purpose of the research is to determine the influence of self-regulation of learning in bioethics on university nursing students, understood as self-control abilities, those thoughts, feelings and actions that allow the acquisition of principles that lead to an understanding of the discipline that regulates rationally and practically the attitude of the human being in front of life. The research corresponds to the positivist paradigm, quantitative approach, deductive hypothetical method, type of substantive study, non-experimental research design, the sample conformed by 80 nursing students, the instruments were validated by content and construct and their reliability by the KR 20 test. The results through Spearman's Rho coefficient, where it is shown that the influence is significant, affirming that self-control determines the attitude of the students represented through bioethics.

RESUMEN La investigación tiene como propósito determinar la influencia de la autorregulación del aprendizaje en la bioética en los estudiantes universitarios de enfermería, entendido como capacidades de autocontrol, aquellos pensamientos, sentimientos y acciones que permite la adquisición de principios que conducen a la comprensión de la disciplina que regula racional y prácticamente la actitud del ser humano frente a la vida. La investigación corresponde al paradigma positivista, enfoque cuantitativo, método hipotéticodeductivo, de tipo de estudio sustantivo, diseño de investigación no experimental, la muestra conformadapor 80 estudiantes de enfermería, los instrumentos sevalidaron por contenido y constructo y la fiabilidad de los mismos por la prueba K.R 20. Los resultados a través del coeficiente de Rho de Spearman dónde se muestra que la influencia es significativa afirmando que el autocontrol determina la actitud de los estudiantes representados a través de la bioética.

Abstract Sanfilippo syndrome or mucopolysaccharidosis III (MPS III), includes a group of four autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorders caused by deficient activity of enzymes involved in the catabolism of heparan sulfate. The four types of MPS III are recognized in accordance with the deficient enzyme, resulting in the accumulation of heparan sulfate with particularly deleterious effects in the central nervous system. The incidence of MPS III remains to be established in Latin American countries. We describe the journey of a patient with MPS IIIB whom, even in the presence of speech delay and deterioration, behavioral problems and motor incoordination, showed unaltered urinary glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) levels. An investigation for MPS was undertaken and enzyme analysis indicated a deficiency of alpha-N-acetylglucosaminidase, leading to the diagnosis of MPS IIIB. With the correct diagnosis, the patient’s symptoms could be properly managed, and the parents received appropriate genetic counseling. The present case report reinforces the need of investigating MPS III in patients with language delay and/or regression, neurological impairment and behavioral alterations, even when urinary GAGs are within normal range. A definitive diagnosis ends the diagnostic journey and enables the medical team and family to provide a better care for the child.

ABSTRACT Resident and circulating immune cells have been extensively studied due to their almost ubiquitous role in cell biology. Despite their classification under the “immune cell department”, it is becoming increasingly clear that these cells are involved in many different non-immune related phenomena, including fetus development, vascular formation, memory, social behavior and many other phenotypes. There is a huge potential in combining high-throughput assays - including flow cytometry and gene analysis - with in vivo imaging. This can improve our knowledge in both basic and clinical cell biology, and accessing the expression of markers that are relevant in the context of both homeostasis and disease conditions might be instrumental. Here we describe how we generated a novel mouse strain that spontaneously express three different fluorescence markers under control of well-studied receptors (CX3CR1, CCR2 and CD11c) that are involved in a plethora of stages of cell ontogenesis, maturation, migration and behavior. Also, we assess the percentage of the expression and co-expression of each marker under homeostasis conditions, and how these cells behave when a local inflammation is induced in the liver applying a cutting-edge technology to image cells by confocal intravital microscopy.

This article analyses the processes of building the identity of a territory and the way local actors manage and increase a cultural heritage from a unique migratory past going from the private sphere of families or a particular community to the local public sphere. We take the case of the present of the French immigrant in the small town of Pigüé (17,000 inhabitants), in Saavedra district (Province of Buenos Aires). The society became aware of this past as an identity resource in 1984 with the centennial celebrations of the town foundation. Cultural cooperation with France allowed some people to find it, discover or value their family background, and for several others, of French origin or not, to create new links with France and the past of the territory. Fifteen semi-structured interviews were conducted with the key actors of this process, giving way to the transversal thematic analysis of the recorded stories. We conclude that a construction of a local social memory was achieved in the present of the French past as a territorial resource beyond the community of origin. This resource, which is constituted as patrimony, is likely to be used economically for local development with minor risks of commercial or folklorising reinterpretations.

Este artículo analiza los procesos de construcción de la identidad de un territorio y cómo los actores locales consiguen trasladar y aumentar un patrimonio cultural de un pasado migratorio singular desde la esfera privada de las familias o de una comunidad particular a la esfera pública local. Tomamos el caso del presente del pasado inmigratorio francés de la pequeña ciudad de Pigüé (17.000 habitantes), en el partido de Saavedra (provincia de Buenos Aires). La sociedad tomó conciencia de este pasado como recurso identitario en 1984 con los festejos del centenario de su fundación. Luego, la cooperación cultural con Francia permitió a algunos que lo habían olvidado descubrir o valorizar su pasado familiar y a varios otros, de origen francés o no, crear nuevos vínculos con Francia y con el pasado del territorio. Se realizaron quince entrevistas semidirigidas a actores clave de este proceso, movilizando el análisis temático transversal de los relatos. Concluimos que se logró impulsar una construcción de una memoria social local en el presente de aquel pasado francés como recurso territorial más allá de la comunidad de origen. Ese recurso, que se constituye en patrimonio, es susceptible hoy de ser aprovechado económicamente para el desarrollo local con menores riesgos de padecer reinterpretaciones comerciales o folclorizantes.

From the converged concepts identity, culture, heritage and territory, is analyzed the possibility of formulating and implementing a strategy of differentiation for the agritourism activity developed by farms of group Cortaderas II (Cambio Rural, INTA), in Coronel Suárez (province of Buenos Aires). With this aim was made a diagnostic through direct interviews and observations of the farms involved. Emphasizing own aspects of its rural environment, was tried to identify cultural values and products with territorial anchorage that they impose a distinctive stamp to the tourist service that they offer. In addition, was investigated in what measure the members are prepared to manage the business, recognizing in them managerial competitions and enterprising characteristics. Finally, it is thought over brings over of the degree of maturity reached, typifying the individual enterprise culture and according to the group work, of way of evaluating if the putting in value of its resources evolves from a " domestic character " up to coming to a " commercial formal character ". It is observed the construction of a socio- cultural-economic identity that makes viable a competitive differential strategy with anchorage in the territory, as well as conditions for the development of the most formalized tourist activity based on the quality management

A partir de los conceptos convergentes identidad, cultura, patrimonio y territorio, se plantea analizar la posibilidad de formular e implementar una estrategia de diferenciación para la actividad de agroturismo desarrollada por los establecimientos del grupo Cortaderas II (Cambio Rural, INTA), en el partido de Coronel Suárez (BA), provincia de Buenos Aires. Con este fin, se ha efectuado un diagnóstico mediante entrevistas directas y observaciones in situ de los emprendimientos participantes. Destacando aspectos propios de su ambiente rural, se procuró identificar valores culturales y productos con anclaje territorial que impongan un sello distintivo al servicio turístico que ofrecen. Complementariamente, se indagó en qué medida los integrantes están preparados para gestionar el negocio, reconociendo en ellos competencias gerenciales y características emprendedoras. Por último, se reflexiona acerca del grado de madurez alcanzado, tipificando la cultura empresarial individual y según el trabajo grupal, de modo de evaluar si la puesta en valor de sus recursos evoluciona desde un “carácter doméstico” hasta llegar a un “carácter comercial formal”. Se observa la construcción de una identidad de índole socio-cultural-económica que hace viable una estrategia competitiva diferencial con anclaje en el territorio, así como condiciones para el desarrollo de una actividad turística más formalizada basada en la gestión de calidad

Objective: To determine the prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism in the general population of an urban health center and describe the clinical characteristics and cardiovascular risk factors in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism. Methods: An observational study, retrospective, reviewing the medical histories of patients sampled from June 2005 until July 2007. We analyzed the following variables; facts: age and sex. Family history thyroid disease and other diseases. Personal history: cardiovascular pulmonary autoimmune, alterations gynecology obstetric diabetes, hypertension (HT) dislipemia, obesity, psychiatric alterations and haematological. Laboratory data: novel TSH, free T4, antiperoxidase antibodies, total cholesterol and its fractions. Results: The prevalence of the sample of 100 patients collected over 8 months was 3.8% in the general population over 14 years, of which 79 were women and 21 were men. 13% were type 2 diabetics, 23% had HT and 40% had dyslipidemia. Overweight and obesity were present in 26%. The average level of TSH was 6.92 ± 2.29 μU/ml and the average level of free T4 was 1.16 ± 0.16 ng/ml. Conclusions: Prevalence subclinical hypothyroidism was 3.8%. especially in women with a mean age of 46. The incidence of cardiovascular risk factors in the subjects studied is higher in DM (13%), similar to general population in terms of dyslipidemia (40%) and obesity (23%) and lowest in hypertension (23%). In our study we observed a common pattern in the management of subclinical hypothyroidism, requiring the implementation and promotion of practice guidelines in primary care.

Objetivo: Conocer la prevalencia del hipotiroidismo subclínico en la población general de un centro de salud urbano y describir las características clínicas y factores de riesgo cardiovascular de los pacientes con hipotiroidismo subclínico. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio observacional descriptivo, transversal, retrospectivo, revisando las historias clínicas de los pacientes incluidos en la muestra desde junio de 2005 hasta julio de 2007. Se analizaron las siguientes variables; Datos generales: edad y sexo. Antecedentes familiares: patología tiroidea y otras enfermedades. Antecedentes personales: cardiovasculares, pulmonares, enfermedades autoinmunes, alteraciones gineco-obstétricas, diabetes, hipertensión (HT), dislipemia, obesidad, alteraciones psiquiátricas y hematológicas. Datos de laboratorio: niveles de TSH, niveles de T4 libre, presencia de anticuerpos antiperoxidasa, niveles de colesterol total y sus fracciones. Resultados: La prevalencia de la muestra de 100 pacientes recogida durante 8 meses fue de 3,8% de la población general mayor de 14 anos, de la cual 79 eran mujeres y 21 eran hombres. El 13% eran diabéticos tipo 2, 23% tenían HT y un 40% tenían dislipemia. Sobrepeso y obesidad estaban presentes en un 26%. El nivel medio de TSH fue 6.92 ± 2,29 μU/ml y el nivel medio de T4 libre fue 1,16 ± 0,16 ng/ml. Conclusiones: La prevalencia del hipotiroidismo subclínico fue 3,8%. sobre todo en mujeres con una edad media de 46 años. La incidencia de factores de riesgo cardiovascular en los sujetos estudiados es mayor en DM (13%), similar a la población general en cuanto a la dislipemia (40%) y obesidad (20%) y menor en HTA (23%). En nuestro estudio no se observa una pauta común en el manejo del hipotiroidismo subclínico, siendo necesaria la implementación y promoción de guías de actuación en Atención Primaria.

The pathogenicity of seven strains of Fusarium equiseti isolated from seabed soil was evaluated on different host plants showing pre and post emergence damage. Radial growth of 27 strains was measured on culture media previously adjusted to different osmotic potentials with either KCl or NaCl (-1.50 to - 144.54 bars) at 15º, 25º and 35º C. Significant differences and interactive effects were observed in the response of mycelia to osmotic potential and temperature.

Objective: to determine the real importance of anamnesis, physical examination, and various tests in the assessment of acute abdominal pain. Methods: a retrospective observational study with patients complaining of abdominal pain at the Emergency Department, Altiplano Health Area (Murcia) was performed. In our study we considered the following variables: socio-demographic data, history of previous surgery, symptoms, place and type of pain. Imaging tests were labeled as positive, negative, or inconclusive for assumed diagnoses, which were retrospectively assessed by an external radiologist who was unaware of the patient's final diagnosis. Results: our study includes 292 patients with a mean age of 45.49 years; 56.8% of these patients were women. Regarding the frequency of the different acute abdomen diagnoses, appendicitis was the main cause (approx. 25%), followed by cholecystitis (10%). We found a significant diagnostic correlation between pain location in the right hypochondrium (RHC) and a diagnosis with cholecystitis. This location was also significant for acute appendicitis (up to 74%). Regarding clinical signs, we only observed a significant correlation between fever and viscera perforation, and between Murphy's sign and cholecystitis. Sensitivity and specificity found in relation to the psoas sign were similar to those seen in other series, 16 and 95% respectively, and slightly lower than the Blumberg or rebound sign, which we found to be around 50 and 23%, respectively. Conclusions: a) anamnesis and physical examination offer limited accuracy when assessing acute abdomen; b) ultrasound scans offer a low diagnostic agreement index for appendicitis; and c) laparoscopy may prove useful for diagnosis, and is also a possible treatment for acute abdominal pain despite its low diagnostic efficiency.

Objetivo: determinar la importancia real que en sí tienen la anamnesis, la exploración física y las diferentes pruebas complementarias en la valoración del dolor abdominal agudo. Métodos: estudio observacional y retrospectivo en una población a estudio: Área V de Salud - Altiplano (Murcia). Enfermos que consultan por dolor abdominal en el Servicio de Urgencias. Se realiza una revisión de las historias clínicas. Variables a estudio: datos socio-demográficos, antecedentes personales de cirugía previa, síntomas asociados, localización del dolor y tipo del mismo. Las pruebas complementarias de imagen se etiquetaron como positivas, negativas y no concluyentes para el diagnóstico de presunción y fueron a posteriori reevaluadas por un radiólogo externo que desconocía el diagnóstico final del enfermo. Resultados: el número de pacientes estudiados fue de 292, cuya edad media estuvo en los 45,49 años. El 56,8% fueron mujeres. En cuanto a la frecuencia de los diferentes diagnósticos de abdomen agudo podemos hablar de la apendicitis como principal causa con un porcentaje cercano al 25%, seguido de la colecistitis con un 10%. Encontramos una concordancia diagnóstica significativa entre la localización del dolor en HCD y el diagnóstico de colecistitis. Esta localización también resulta significativa en el caso de la apendicitis aguda, en esta, hasta un 74%. En cuanto a los signos clínicos sólo hemos encontrado una correlación significativa entre la fiebre y la perforación de víscera hueca y entre el signo de Murphy y la colecistitis. La sensibilidad y especificidad encontradas con respecto al signo del psoas son muy similares a las encontradas en otras series entorno al 16 y 95% respectivamente; siendo algo menores con respecto al Blumberg o signo de rebote que se sitúa en nuestro estudio entorno al 50 y 23%. Conclusiones: a) la anamnesis y la exploración física tienen una exactitud limitada a la hora de valorar abdomen agudo; b) la ecografía presenta con respecto a la apendicitis un índice de concordancia diagnóstica bajo; y c) la laparoscopia puede resultar un instrumento útil para el diagnóstico y posible tratamiento del dolor abdominal agudo, aunque la eficiencia diagnóstica que determinaría su utilización sea baja.

Objective: to assess the relationship between different colorectal cancer risk factors in Albacete province. Material and method: the incidence and prevalence of CC (colorectal cancer) in Albacete province during the years from 1992 to 1999 were calculated using data from the Surgery and Anatomical Pathology Departments of hospitals located in the province, both public ("Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Albacete" and "Hospital Comarcal de Hellín") and private ("Recoletas", "Sanatorios del Rosario" and "Santa Cristina"), and the provincial archives of the National Cancer Registry. Subsequently, the same calculation was made for each of the 33 Health Areas into which the province is organized. The three Health Areas with the highest incidence, and the three with the lowest incidence, of CC were selected for the study. By means of a systematic randomization of persons over 50 years, 445 persons were selected for the study using the census of the 25 villages and towns located in the high and low CC incidence areas. Subsequently we carried out the survey in these two zones: high and low incidence areas. Data were collected in Dbase IV, and the statistical analysis was carried out with the statistical package SPSS 10.1 for Windows. Results: during the period studied 531 new cases of CC were registered, of which 291 (54.99%) were men. Mean rate was 15.9 per 100,000 persons/year. Highest incidence areas included Elche de la Sierra (30.2 per 100,000 persons/year), followed by Alcadozo (28.3), and Ontur (26.9). Lowest incidence areas were Ossa de Montiel (5.9), Munera (5.1), and Balazote (6.5). Out of 450 participants 414 (92%) filled out the questionnaire correctly. Variables including some kind of alcohol use (beer, wine, and coffee with brandy) are significantly associated with CC and multiply by more than one the risk for this disease. Some qualitative variables with statistically significant association increase, while some decrease, the risk of CC. For example, associated pathologies multiplies the risk of CC by 0.6, physical exercise by 0.3, moderate intake of alcohol by 0.5, olive oil intake by 0.7, and water intake by 0.3. Furthermore, a high intake of alcohol multiplies the risk of CC by 1.8, eggs and omelette by 2.95, pasta and rice by 2.15, blue fish by 1.8, meat and cold meats by 1.6, and having a first- or second-degree relative with cancer by 3. Conclusions: there is a significant relationship between colorectal cancer and familial cancer, physical activity, and the ingestion of alcohol, water, pasta, rice, and eggs.

Objetivo: conocer el patrón de consumo alimentario y de estilo de vida de la población de estudio y evaluar la relación de los componentes de este patrón con el CCR. Material y método: se trata de un estudio observacional, descriptivo y analítico, de sección transversal. Utilizando los archivos de los Servicios de Cirugía y Anatomía Patológica del Complejo Hospitalario Universitario de Albacete y del Hospital Comarcal de Hellín, así como de las clínicas privadas de nuestra provincia (Recoletas, Sanatorios del Rosario y de Santa Cristina) y el Registro de Cáncer de la Delegación Provincial de Sanidad de Albacete, se determinó la incidencia y prevalencia del CCR en la provincia de Albacete durante los años 1992 a 1999 y posteriormente se fueron describiendo estas en las 33 zonas de salud que conforman la provincia. Se seleccionaron las tres zonas básicas de salud con más alta incidencia de CCR y las tres con más baja incidencia del CCR de la provincia de Albacete, así como los 25 censos de las poblaciones que pertenecían a estas dos zonas de alta y baja incidencia. Mediante muestreo aleatorio sistemático entre la población de 50 años o más 445 personas fueron seleccionadas para ser incluidas en el estudio. Posteriormente se realiza la encuesta en las dos zonas: alta y baja incidencia. Se recogen los datos en una base de datos estadística Dbase IV y se analizan con se paquete SPSS .10.1 Resultados: durante el periodo de estudio han aparecido en nuestra área 531 casos de CCR, de los que 291 (54,99%) eran hombres, con una tasa media de 15,9 por 100.000 hab./año. Los resultados seleccionaron como zonas de mayor incidencia a Elche de la Sierra con una tasa de 30,2 por 100.000 hab./año, seguida de Alcadozo con 28,3 por 100.000 hab./año y Ontur con 26,9 por 100.000 hab./año. Mientras que las zonas de menor incidencia son Ossa de Montiel con un 5,9 y en Munera con 5,1 por 100.000 hab./año. Balazote con 6,5 por 100.000 hab./año también forma parte del grupo de baja incidencia. De las 450 personas seleccionadas, completaron correctamente la encuesta 414 personas, el 92%. Dentro de las variables podemos ver que las que consumen algún tipo de alcohol: cerveza, vino y carajillos tienen una asociación estadísticamente significativa y multiplican por algo más de 1 el riesgo de padecer CCR. En las variables cualitativas podemos observar que dentro de las que tienen asociación estadísticamente significativa, existen unas que disminuyen el riesgo de padecer CCR y otras que lo aumentan. Así podemos ver que disminuye el riesgo de CCR la presencia de patologías asociadas que lo multiplicaría por 0,6, el hacer ejercicio multiplicaría el riesgo de CCR por 0,3, el consumo medio de alcohol lo multiplicaría por 0,5, el consumo de aceite de oliva lo multiplicaría por 0,7 y por último el consumo de agua lo haría por 0,3. Por otra parte aumenta el riesgo de padecer CCR el consumo alto de alcohol que lo multiplicaría por 1,8, el consumo de huevos y tortillas lo multiplicaría por 2,95, el consumo de pasta y arroz por 2,15, el consumo de pescado azul por 1,8, el consumo de embutidos y de carnes por 1,6 y finalmente el tener familiares de primer y segundo grado multiplicaría casi por 3 el riesgo de padecer CCR. Conclusiones: en nuestro estudio resultan factores protectores de CCR: tener alguna enfermedad, hacer ejercicio físico, consumo moderado de alcohol, consumo de aceite de oliva e ingestión de agua. Mientras que actúan como factores predisponentes el consumo alto de alcohol, consumo de huevos y tortillas, consumo de pasta y arroz, consumo de pescado azul, consumo de embutidos y carnes y tener familiares con cáncer.

Objective: to determine the incidence of constipation in Albacete province and its relation with diet and lifestyle. Patients and methods: cross-sectional population survey. We studied 414 participants over 50 years of age in Albacete province. 445 persons over 50 years of age were included in the study. All participants were selected by systematic random sampling; 414 participants filled in the questionnaire correctly. Main measures: age, weight and height, marital status, level of education and occupation; presence of a disease, number of sleep hours a day, physical exercise, smoking, alcohol intake, drug intake (anti-inflammatories and laxatives); bowel habit, diet, meal frequency and place; food intake frequency per week, daily intake of water, coffee, tea and herbal beverages; vitamin and fiber supplements; presence of cancer in the family. Results: 56.9% of participants were women. Mean age 67.07 years. In Albacete province, 4.4% of the population over 50 years have a bowel habit consistent with constipation. Most participants had three meals a day (breakfast, lunch, and supper), while 50% had another meal in the morning or afternoon. These meals took place, habitually, in the domicile. There was a preponderance in daily intake of the following foods: milk (83.7%), bread (95.1%), vegetables (68.8%), fruit (91.8%), and virgin olive oil (96.6%). Fish was eaten every one to two days, and pulses and meat every three to six days. 44.4% of participants drank one to two liters of water a day. Only 3.9% of participants took some supplement; 35% of participants were on a diet. It was observed that 97.7% of participants with more than three defecations a week had a high intake of virgin olive oil; 65.7% of participants did some physical exercise customarily; 70.2% of participants were non-smokers, 10.2% were smokers, and 18.4% were ex-smokers. With regard to alcohol, the percentage of drinkers was 35.1%. The main class of medications taken by participants was NSAIDs -14.5%; 79.7% took neither NSAIDs nor laxatives. Only 2.7% of participants took laxatives regularly. Conclusions: Most participants had relatively healthy eating habits.

In this paper, we will be mainly concerned with a parallel algorithm (in time and space) which is used to solve the incompressible Navier-Stokes problem. This relies on two main ideas: (a) a splitting of the main differential operator which permits to consider independently the most important difficulties (nonlinearity and incompressibility) and (b) the approximation of the resulting stationary problems by a family of second-order one-dimensional linear systems. The same strategy can be applied to two-dimensional and three-dimensional problems and involves the same level of difficulty. It can be also useful for the solution of other more complicate systems like Boussinesq or turbulence models. The behavior of the method is illustrated with some numerical experiments.

Objective: to describe the results derived from performing minor surgery (MS) for the phisician of Primare Health Care (PHM) and analyse the presurgical-pathology diagnosis concordance in a rural Health Center. Design: descriptive prospective study. Participants: interventions performed during two years for two GP. Setting: Primare Health Care Casas Ibáñez and Pathology Service of General Hospital Albacete. Measurements and main results: variable descriptives (sex, age, location, lesion diagnosis, motive of MS, sort of intervention, awaiting time and histological results) of all interventions were analysed. It was compared (simple according) previous diagnosis with respect to patholoy diagnosis. Four hundred and twenty-five interventions were performed. Complete data were achieved in 404 persons (229 men, 56,7% and 175 women, 43,7%); mean age of 43,9 years old and standard deviation of 23,9). The most habitual cause for MS was the aes-thetic one, continued for malignancy fear and pain. The thecnical of surgery most frequent used were surgical removal in 45,7% and electrosurgery in 19,2%. Lesions treated mainly were epidermal cyst 43 cases, warts 77 cases and nails 46 cases. Two hundred and twenty cases were sent to Pathology Service and the diagnosis concordance with its report was of 66,2%. The standby time average was of 12 days. Conclusions: performing minor surgery in Primary Health Care is feasible, accepting the proper training of phisician of PC. This activity in our health center has low standby times and high histopathological concordance.

Objetivo: describir los resultados derivados de realizar cirugía menor (CM) por el médico de Atención Primaria (AP) y analizar el acuerdo diagnóstico prequirúrgico-anatomopatológico. Diseño: estudio descriptivo, prospectivo. Participantes: intervenciones realizadas durante dos años por 2 médicos de AP. Emplazamiento: Centro de Salud de Casas Ibáñez y Servicio de Anatomía Patológica del Hospital General de Albacete. Mediciones y resultados principales: se analizan variables descriptivas (edad y sexo, localización, diagnóstico lesión, motivo CM (cirugía menor), tipo de intervención, tiempo de espera y resultados histológicos) de todas las intervenciones. Se compara (acuerdo simple) el diagnóstico previo respecto al anatomopatológico. Se practicaron 425 intervenciones. Se obtuvieron datos completos en 404 personas (229 hombres y 105 mujeres; edad media 42,36 desviación típica 25,03). El motivo más habitual de CM fue el estético, seguido del miedo a malignidad y dolor. Las técnicas quirúrgicas más frecuentes fueron exéresis quirúrgicas 45,7% y electrocirugía 19,2%. Las lesiones tratadas fueron principalmente quiste epidérmico 43 casos, verrugas 77 casos y uñas 46 casos. Se remitieron al Servicio de Anatomía Patológica 220 casos y el acuerdo diagnóstico con su informe fue del 66,2%. El tiempo medio de espera fue de 12 días. Conclusiones: la realización de CM en AP es factible, asumiendo la correcta formación del médico de AP. Dicha actividad en nuestra unidad tiene bajos tiempos de espera y alta concordancia histopalógica.
