ABSTRACT Aedes aegypti is the main vector of multiple diseases, such as dengue, yellow fever, Zika, and chikungunya. Diseases associated with mosquitoes have been growing in recent years, with more than one-third of the world population at risk. Control techniques have been studied to prevent the spread of the Aedes aegypti, such that new formula and how to use adulticides and larvicides, among others. This paper proposes a novel approach in the field of partial differential equations and optimization. We consider a two-dimensional diffusion-reaction model that describes the interaction between aquatic and adult female stages spreading across a domain with parameters dependent on rainfall and temperature. We also formulate a mono-objective and multiobjective optimization problem to minimize the Aedes aegypti populations and the control, considering the application of adulticides and larvicides, using actual data from the city of Lavras/Brazil. The operator splitting technique is used to solve the diffusion-reaction system, coupling finite difference and the fourth-order Runge-Kutta method and optimal solutions were searched by using the Real-Biased Genetic Algorithm and Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm -II. RESUMO O agronegócio biológico cresceu substancialmente em todo o mundo, demandando estratégias eficientes para manter ou aumentar a produção vegetal. Entretanto, pouco se conhece a respeito dos reais ganhos econômicos associados aos mecanismos que ocorrem na agricultura, incluindo cultivos tradicionais como a cana-de-açúcar. Buscou-se neste estudo encontrar potenciais indicadores microbiológicos relacionados com o aumento de produtividade e, paralelamente, valorar os serviços microbiológicos do solo por meio do desenvolvimento de uma equação estrutural (SEM). A SEM foi construída com base nos dados prévios de um experimento com cana-de-açúcar a campo, no qual os efeitos da inoculação com bactérias solubilizadoras de fosfato e utilização de fertilizante organomineral foram avaliados. A SEM indicou que as atividades de β-glucosidase e fosfatase alcalina foram potenciais indicadores relacionados ao aumento de produtividade em quatro cenários (atual, plausível, otimista e futurista). Aumentos de 158 e 195 t ha-1 foram projetados com base na atividade de β-glucosidase para os cenários atual e plausível, respectivamente. Estes aumentos resultaram em ganhos econômicos de R$ 453,02 ha-1 (US$ 86,07 ha-1) para o cenário atual, e R$ 1.571,53 ha-1 (US$ 298,59 ha-1) para o cenário plausível, considerando a taxa de câmbio de fevereiro de 2022 (R$ 0,19 US$-1). Independente do cenário, a inoculação bacteriana esteve associada a maiores atividades de β-glucosidase ou fosfatase alcalina e também maiores produtividades, o que se traduziu em ganhos econômicos para os agricultores de cana-de-açúcar.

ABSTRACT Biological agribusiness has grown substantially worldwide and requires efficient strategies to maintain or increase crop production. However, little is known about the real economic gains associated with belowground mechanisms in agriculture, including those of traditional crops such as sugarcane. This study aimed to identify potential microbiological indicators related to yield increase and value the soil microbiological services through the development of a structural equation model (SEM). The SEM was constructed based on a dataset from a previous sugarcane field experiment in which the effects of inoculation with phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) and the input of organomineral fertilizer were evaluated. The SEM indicated that the β-glucosidase and alkaline phosphatase activities were potential indicators of yield increases in four scenarios (current, plausible, optimistic, and futuristic). Increases of 158 and 195 t ha-1 were projected based on the β-glucosidase activity for the current and plausible scenarios, respectively. These increases resulted in economic gains of R$ 453.02 ha-1 (US$ 86.07 ha-1) for the current scenario, and R$ 1,571.53 ha-1 (US$ 298.59 ha-1) for the plausible scenario, considering the exchange rate from February 2022 (R$ 0.19 US$-1). Regardless of the scenario, bacterial inoculation was associated with increased β-glucosidase or alkaline phosphatase activity and higher yields, which translates into economic gains for sugarcane farmers.

Resumen: El uso de técnicas predictivas basadas en la toma de imágenes de campo es propuesto como un método de auxilio en la cría animal, en donde el productor podría planificar el manejo de la nutrición del rodeo. La condición corporal (CC) medida en vacas de cría mediante apreciación visual ha sido propuesta como un buen estimador del estado nutricional del rodeo. Estudios previos demuestran que en vacas con mayores CC al parto la preñez al siguiente servicio se incrementa de 10 a 15%, teniendo este resultado gran impacto en la producción de los sistemas. Aunque se reconocen los beneficios de la escala de CC, el porcentaje de criadores que utilizan esta herramienta sigue siendo bajo, siendo la razón principal la falta de calificadores formados para registrarla. El objetivo de este estudio fue desarrollar un método práctico, repetitivo y no invasivo para evaluar la CC mediante un proceso de calificación guiada, utilizando imágenes tomadas en el campo. Los resultados muestran que el método de determinación de la CC propuesto se comporta como una herramienta sencilla y económica para evaluar el estado nutricional, por lo que puede ser aceptado por el criador dada su sencillez y los beneficios obtenidos. Adicionalmente, esta herramienta también puede constituir un tutorial para la generación de experiencia en la calificación de la CC en vacas de cría.

Abstract: The use of predictive techniques based on image acquisition at field level is presented to improve livestock production. With this, the farmer can plan the management of the herd and the need for supplemental feeding. The use of the Body Condition Score (BCS) measured by visual assessment has been proposed as a method of subjective evaluation of the nutritional status of cattle. Studies show that a good BCS at calving allows increases in the order of 10 to 15% in the following pregnancy rate of the herd. This increase has a significant impact on farm productivity. Although the benefits of the visual assessment scale are recognized, the percentage of breeders using this tool is still low, the main reason being the lack of trained raters to record the BCS. The objective of this study was to develop a practical, repetitive, and non-invasive method to evaluate BCS through a guided grading process using images taken in the field. The results show that the BCS determination method proposed in this paper is presented as a simple and economical tool to evaluate BCS, so that it can be accepted by the breeder for its simplicity and benefits. Additionally, it can serve as a tutorial for the acquisition of experience in calibrating BCS in breeding cows.

Resumo: O uso de técnicas preditivas baseadas em imagens de campo é proposto como um auxílio na criação de animais, onde o produtor poderia planejar o manejo nutricional do rebanho. A condição corporal (CC) medida em vacas mediante avaliação visual foi proposta como um bom estimador do estado nutricional do rebanho. Estudos prévios mostram que em vacas com maiores CC ao momento do parto, a gravidez no próximo serviço é aumentada de 10 a 15%, tendo um grande impacto na produtividade dos sistemas. Embora os benefícios da escala CC sejam reconhecidos, a percentagem de criadores que adotam esta ferramenta ainda é baixa, sendo a principal razão a falta de avaliadores treinados para registrá-la. O objetivo deste estudo foi desenvolver um método prático, repetível e não-invasivo para avaliar a CC através de um processo guiado, utilizando imagens tomadas no campo. Os resultados mostram que o método de determinação proposto comporta-se como uma ferramenta simples e barata para avaliar o estado nutricional, podendo ser aceito pelo criador dada à sua simplicidade assim como aos benefícios obtidos. Além disso, esta ferramenta também pode constituir um tutorial para a geração de experiência na qualificação de CC em vacas reprodutoras.

Abstract This study aimed to search parasites in 333 ornamental fish from five Brazilian states (Ceará, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná and Santa Catarina). Fish were sent from eight farms located in the municipalities of Fortaleza, Patrocínio do Muriaé, São Francisco do Glória, Cascavel, Timbó, Iguape, Jacareí and Mairinque. All fish received anesthesia earlier to euthanasia procedures. After the search for parasites, it was verified that 70.6% (235/333) of fishes were infected by at least one type of parasite, being 12 types of parasites identified: monogeneans, digenean metacercariae, cestodes, nematodes, Lernaea cyprinacea, trichodinids, Piscinoodinium pillulare, Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, diplomonad flagellates, Ichthyobodo sp., Chilodonella sp., and Tetrahymena sp. The proportion of infected fishes among the farms is compared through statistical tests, besides, animal handling adopted in each farm is also discussed. The importance of ensuring fish health in order to make the ornamental freshwater fish industry economically viable and reduce losses in production is highlighted.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi pesquisar parasitas presentes em 333 peixes ornamentais de cinco estados brasileiros (Ceará, Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Paraná e Santa Catarina). Os peixes eram oriundos de oito pisciculturas localizadas nos municípios de Fortaleza, Patrocínio do Muriaé, São Francisco do Glória, Cascavel, Timbó, Iguape, Jacareí e Mairinque. Todos os peixes foram anestesiados e eutanasiados para a pesquisa de parasitas. Após análise microscópica, foi verificado que 70.6% (235/333) dos peixes estavam infectados por ao menos uma espécie de parasita, sendo identificados 12 tipos: monogenoides, metacercárias, cestoides, nematoides, Lernaea cyprinacea, tricodinídeos, Piscinoodinium pillulare, Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, flagelados diplomonados, Ichthyobodo sp., Chilodonella sp., e Tetrahymena sp. A proporção de peixes infectados entre cada piscicultura é comparada através de testes estatísticos, além disso, o manejo adotado pelas diferentes pisciculturas também é discutido. A importância de assegurar a sanidade de peixes ornamentais, de forma a tornar a atividade economicamente viável e reduzir perdas na produção é enfatizada.

Abstract Background: Elderly patients are more susceptible to Coronavirus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) and are more likely to develop it in severe forms, (e.g., Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome [ARDS]). Prone positioning is a treatment strategy for severe ARDS; however, its response in the elderly population remains poorly understood. The main objective was to evaluate the predictive response and mortality of elderly patients exposed to prone positioning due to ARDS-COVID-19. Methods: This retrospective multicenter cohort study involved 223 patients aged ≥ 65 years, who received prone position sessions for severe ARDS due to COVID-19, using invasive mechanical ventilation. The PaO2/FiO2 ratio was used to assess the oxygenation response. The 20-point improvement in PaO2/FiO2 after the first prone session was considered for good response. Data were collected from electronic medical records, including demographic data, laboratory/image exams, complications, comorbidities, SAPS III and SOFA scores, use of anticoagulants and vasopressors, ventilator settings, and respiratory system mechanics. Mortality was defined as deaths that occurred until hospital discharge. Results: Most patients were male, with arterial hypertension and diabetes mellitus as the most prevalent comorbidities. The non-responders group had higher SAPS III and SOFA scores, and a higher incidence of complications. There was no difference in mortality rate. A lower SAPS III score was a predictor of oxygenation response, and the male sex was a risk predictor of mortality. Conclusion: The present study suggests the oxygenation response to prone positioning in elderly patients with severe COVID-19-ARDS correlates with the SAPS III score. Furthermore, the male sex is a risk predictor of mortality.

Abstract Parkia platycephala is the only species of the genus Parkia that is endemic to the brazilian Cerrado and the tree symbol of the state of Tocantins, but there are still few studies regarding its bioprospecting. In this study, we aimed to investigate the phytochemical composition, toxicity and bioactivities of the bark and flower of Parkia platycephala. Hot sequential extractions (Soxhlet) were performed using methanol and hydroethanolic solution (70%), after degreasing the sample (hexane). The presence of flavonoids, tannins, steroids and alkaloids was detected in the preliminary screening. Trilinolein, (Z)-9-octadecenamide, 3-O-methyl-d-glucose were detected by Gas Chromatography coupled to Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). In the Liquid Chromatography with Diode Array Detector (LC-PDA) analysis, it was detected exclusively ferulic acid (bark) and ellagic acid (flower). The ethanolic extract of the bark (IC50=10.69 ± 0.35 µgmL-1) has an antioxidant potential (DPPH• radical) higher than that of the rutin standard (IC50=15.85 ± 0.08 µgmL-1). All extracts showed excellent anticholinesterase potential (Ellman), with emphasis on the ethanol extract of the flower (IC50 =5.34 ± 0.12 µgmL-1). Regarding toxicity (Artemia salina), the methanolic extract of the bark and the ethanolic extract of the flower presented high and moderate levels, respectively. Such results limit the concentrations of biological activities in this study, however, the antioxidant and anticholinesterase indices fall short of toxicity. The results demonstrated promising antioxidant and anticholinesterase activities of both the bark and the flower of Parkia platycephala.

Resumo A Parkia platycephala é a única espécie do gênero Parkia, endêmica do Cerrado brasileiro e a árvore símbolo do estado do Tocantins, porém ainda com pouco estudos com relação a sua bioprospecção. Neste estudo, objetivamos realizar a caracterização fitoquímica, avaliar a toxicidade e as atividades antioxidante e anticolinesterásica dos extratos da casca e da flor da Parkia platycephala. Foram realizadas extrações sequenciais a quente (Soxhlet), utilizando hexano, metanol e solução hidroetanólica (70%). A presença de flavonoides, taninos, esteroides e alcaloides foi detectada na triagem preliminar. A análise por Cromatografia Gasosa acoplada a Espectrometria de Massa (GC-MS) indicou a presença de variados compostos, tais como trilinoleina, (Z)-9-octadecenamida, 3-O-methyl-d-glucose e methylsulfinyl(methylthio)-methane. Na análise por Cromatografia Líquida com Detector de Arranjo de Diodo (LC-PDA), destacam-se o ácido elágico, presente apenas nos extratos da flor, e o ácido ferúlico, presente apenas nos extratos da casca. Os extratos da casca predominaram quanto ao potencial antioxidante (radical DPPH•), sendo que o extrato etanólico (IC50=10,69 ± 0,35 µgmL-1) superou o padrão rutina (IC50=15,85 ± 0,08 µgmL-1). Todos os extratos apresentaram excelentes potenciais anticolinesterásicos (teste de Ellman), com ênfase no extrato etanólico da flor (IC50=5,34 ± 0,12 µgmL-1). Em relação à toxicidade (Artemia salina), o extrato metanólico da casca e o extrato etanólico da flor, apresentaram níveis elevado e moderado, respectivamente. Tais resultados limitam as concentrações das atividades biológicas deste estudo, entretanto, os índices antioxidante e anticolinesterásico ficam aquém da toxicidade. Os resultados mostraram as promissoras atividades antioxidante e anticolinesterásica da casca e flor da Parkia platycephala.

Abstract Low density sugarcane plantation (LDSP) has been implemented by some sugarcane producers in Brazil, aiming to save seeds and operational costs. The study was carried out in the municipality of Areia, Paraíba, Brazil. Five planting densities were used, varying from 5 to 25 m-2 of buds arranged in randomized blocks, with four replications. Data were measured annually over three cultivation cycles (2017 to 2020), during which the field was fertilized with NPK and the harvests were carried out manually without prior burning. The lower planting density presents higher productivity only in the cane plant (101.03 t ha-1) due to the higher plant height (2.37 m) and the higher number of stalks (11 stalks m-2), suggesting that these variables are due to the greater availability of light, water and photosynthate. However, there is a drastic reduction in sugarcane yield for this lower population in the 2nd ratoon by up to 65.62%, which is correlated with number of stalks per meter. We demonstrate the agronomic viability of LDSP in the population of 10 buds m-2 in relation to conventional planting of sugarcane until the 2nd ratoon. Data are important for future studies to present additional considerations for other production factors, such as the effects of mechanized harvesting and the management of nutrients and water, assessing the sustainability of this large-scale planting system.

Resumo O método de plantio de cana-de-açúcar de baixa densidade (LDSP) vem sendo implementado por alguns produtores de cana-de-açúcar no Brasil, visando economia de sementes e custos operacionais. O estudo foi realizado no município de Areia, Paraíba, Brasil. Utilizou-se cinco densidades de plantio, variando de 5 a 25 m-2 de gemas dispostas em blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições. Os dados foram medidos anualmente ao longo de três ciclos de cultivo (2017 a 2020). Menor densidade de plantio mostrou maior produtividade (101,03 t ha-1) devido à maior altura de planta (2,37 m) e ao maior número de hastes (NS) (11 hastes m-2), sugerindo que essas variáveis são devido à maior disponibilidade de luz, água e fotoassimilados. No entanto, houve redução drástica na produtividade da cana-de-açúcar para esta população menor na 2ª soca em 65,62%, estando correlacionado com o número de colmos por metro. Demonstramos a viabilidade agronômica do LDSP em uma população de 10 gemas m-2 em relação ao plantio convencional de cana-de-açúcar até a 2ª soca. Os dados são importantes para que estudos futuros apresentem considerações adicionais sobre outros fatores de produção, como os efeitos da colheita mecanizada e do manejo de nutrientes e água, avaliando a sustentabilidade desse sistema de plantio em larga escala.

Abstract The choice of statistical data analysis should be guided by a critical analysis that supports the theoretical relationship between the construct and its indicators. This theoretical article reviews the three main existing psychometric paradigms and their proposals for explaining the relationship between indicators and their constructs. The discussion begins with the standard paradigm that guides the construction and analysis of data in psychology, reflective model. This study evaluated the chemical composition, antioxidant and anticholinesterase activities, and the toxicity of hydroethanolic extracts of the Parkia platycephala Benth. Hot extraction with 70% hydroethanolic solution was used to obtain crude extracts of the leaf (LE), bark (BE), flower (FE), and seed (SE). Separation and identification of the compounds were performed by liquid chromatography with diode array detection and gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. Antioxidant and anticholinesterase activities were performed by the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH•) and Ellman methods, respectively, and the preliminary toxicity by the method with Artemia salina. Chromatography analysis indicated naringin, kaempferol, stigmasterol, and β-sitosterol in all extracts. Gallic acid is prominent in the LE and FE, while ferulic acid is abundant in the BE and lupeol and lupeol acetate are prominent in the SE. The BE antioxidant activity (lethal concentration of 50% (IC50) = 14.72 ± 0.13 µg mL-1) is equivalent to the standard rutin (IC50 = 15.85 ± 0.08 µg mL-1). The SE had the best acetylcholinesterase inhibition potential (IC50 = 5.73 ± 0.68 µg mL-1). Aside from the SE, which is not toxic, the other extracts had low (LE, FE) and moderate (BE) toxicity. The extracts of P. platycephala have potential antioxidant and therapeutic uses, especially against Alzheimer’s disease.

ABSTRACT Determining the amount of nutrients accumulated by crops is an important tool for defining the order in which nutrients are taken up and required. However, the order and amount of accumulated nutrients vary depending on the genetic characteristics of the cultivars, climatic conditions, fertilization, soil and management systems. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of irrigation management strategies and doses of nitrogen (N) fertigation on the content and accumulation of macro and micronutrients and the N use efficiency in mini romaine lettuce “Astorga” cultivated in a protected environment, in two consecutive crop cycles. The treatments consisted of three irrigation strategies: continuous irrigation (Cont), intermittent irrigation, with three fractions a day, at 1-hour intervals (Int1); intermittent irrigation, with three fractions a day, at 4-hour intervals (Int2) and two nitrogen doses (100 and 130 kg/ha N), in daily fertigation. Intermittent irrigation management strategies (Int1 and Int2) increased the contents and accumulation of dry matter and N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Fe, Mn and Zn. The dose of 130 kg/ha N only increased the content and accumulation of P and Mn in the first and second cycles, respectively. In general, lettuce accumulated macronutrients in the following decreasing order: K>N>Ca>P>Mg>S, whereas micronutrients followed the order Fe>Mn>Zn>B>Cu. The treatments Int1, Int2 and 100 kg/ha N optimized the N use efficiency.

RESUMO A determinação da quantidade de nutrientes acumulados pelas culturas é uma ferramenta importante para definir a ordem em que os nutrientes são absorvidos e exigidos. Essas informações variam em função das características genéticas das cultivares, condições climáticas, adubação, solo e sistemas de manejo. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a influência de estratégias de manejo de irrigação e doses de nitrogênio (N) em fertirrigação sobre o teor e acúmulo de macro e micronutrientes e a eficiência de uso do N em mini alface romana “Astorga” cultivada em ambiente protegido, em dois ciclos consecutivos de cultivo. Os tratamentos constaram da aplicação de três estratégias de irrigação: irrigação contínua (Cont), irrigação intermitente, com 3 fracionamentos no dia, em intervalos de 1h (Int1); irrigação intermitente, com 3 fracionamentos no dia, em intervalos de 4h (Int2) e duas doses de N (100 e 130 kg/ha de N), aplicadas em fertirrigação diária. As estratégias de manejo de irrigação intermitente (Int1 e Int2) aumentaram os teores e acúmulos de matéria seca e dos nutrientes N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S, B, Fe, Mn e Zn. A dose de 130 kg/ha de N aumentou apenas o teor e acúmulo de P e Mn no primeiro e segundo ciclos, respectivamente. De modo geral a alface acumulou os macronutrientes na seguinte ordem decrescente: K>N>Ca>P>Mg>S, enquanto os micronutrientes seguiram a ordem Fe>Mn>Zn>B>Cu. Os tratamentos Int1, Int2 e 100 kg/ha de N otimizaram a eficiência de uso do N.

Abstract Introduction: Capsule endoscopy has revolutionized the management of patients with obscure gastrointestinal bleeding. Nevertheless, reading capsule endoscopy images is time-consuming and prone to overlooking significant lesions, thus limiting its diagnostic yield. We aimed to create a deep learning algorithm for automatic detection of blood and hematic residues in the enteric lumen in capsule endoscopy exams. Methods: A convolutional neural network was developed based on a total pool of 22,095 capsule endoscopy images (13,510 images containing luminal blood and 8,585 of normal mucosa or other findings). A training dataset comprising 80% of the total pool of images was defined. The performance of the network was compared to a consensus classification provided by 2 specialists in capsule endoscopy. Subsequently, we evaluated the performance of the network using an independent validation dataset (20% of total image pool), calculating its sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, and precision. Results: Our convolutional neural network detected blood and hematic residues in the small bowel lumen with an accuracy and precision of 98.5 and 98.7%, respectively. The sensitivity and specificity were 98.6 and 98.9%, respectively. The analysis of the testing dataset was completed in 24 s (approximately 184 frames/s). Discussion/Conclusion: We have developed an artificial intelligence tool capable of effectively detecting luminal blood. The development of these tools may enhance the diagnostic accuracy of capsule endoscopy when evaluating patients presenting with obscure small bowel bleeding.

No entanto, a leitura de imagens de endoscopia por cápsula é morosa, havendo suscetibilidade para a perda de lesões significativas, limitando desta forma a sua eficácia diagnóstica. Este estudo visou a criação de um algoritmo de deep learning para deteção automática de sangue e resíduos hemáticos no lúmen entérico usando imagens de endoscopia por cápsula. Métodos: Foi desenvolvida uma rede neural convolucional com base num conjunto de 22,095 imagens de endoscopia de cápsula (13,510 imagens contendo sangue e 8,585 mucosa normal ou outros achados). Foi construído um grupo de imagens para treino, compreendendo 80% do total de imagens. O desempenho da rede foi comparado com a classificação consenso de dois especialistas em endoscopia por cápsula. Posteriormente, o desempenho da rede foi avaliado usando os restantes 20% de imagens. Foi calculada a sua sensibilidade, especificidade, exatidão e precisão. Resultados: O algoritmo detetou sangue e resíduos hemáticos no lúmen do intestino delgado com uma exatidão e precisão de 98.5% e 98.7%, respetivamente. A sensibilidade e especificidade foram 98.6% e 98.9%, respetivamente. A análise do conjunto de usado para teste da rede foi concluída em 24 segundos (aproximadamente 184 frames/s). Discussão/Conclusão: Foi desenvolvida uma ferramenta de inteligência artificial capaz de detetar efetivamente o sangue luminal. O desenvolvimento dessas ferramentas pode aumentar a precisão do diagnóstico da endoscopia por cápsula ao avaliar pacientes que apresentam sangramento obscuro do intestino delgado.

Abstract Thirteen years after the publication of the National Policy for the Comprehensive Health of the Black Population (PNSIPN, Política Nacional da Saúde Integral da População Negra), filling out the race/skin color question in the patient identification form remains a challenge. Authors have focused on the need to integrate knowledge from the science of implementation into public policies. The aim of this article is to describe and analyze the implementation of the collection of the race/skin color item carried out by the professionals responsible for the registration of patients at a university hospital in the city of São Paulo. This was an exploratory and descriptive study, structured from three constructs of the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR): intervention, internal scenario and characteristics of individuals. Most records of race/skin color in the observed institution are made by heteroidentification. Based on the CFIR constructs, aspects identified as obstacles and facilitators are identified. The implementation of the collection of the race/skin color item by self-declaration, as provided for in the PNSIPN and in Ordinance n. 344/2017, is still incipient and depends mainly on organizational changes, which can favor its effectiveness.

Autores têm se debruçado sobre a necessidade de integrar os conhecimentos da ciência da implementação às políticas públicas. O objetivo deste artigo é descrever e analisar a implementação da coleta do quesito raça/cor feito pelos profissionais responsáveis pelo registro dos pacientes num hospital universitário do município de São Paulo. RESUMO O presente estudo teve como objetivo determinar a viabilidade da inclusão da farinha de batata-doce na ração de ovinos, como estratégia alimentar alternativa ao uso de outras culturas, tradicionalmente utilizadas como suplemento energético. Para isso, foi realizado delineamento em quadrado latino para avaliar os efeitos da suplementação de 0, 0,5, 1 e 1,5% do PV de farinha de batata-doce, para ovinos alimentados duas vezes ao dia com feno de azevém anual (Lolium multiflorum) e com acesso a sal mineral e a água ad libitum. Durante o período de estudo, oito machos da raça foram alojados em gaiolas metabólicas com coletores de urina e fezes. Cada rodada do experimento consistiu em 14 dias de adaptação da dieta e cinco dias de coleta, que incluíram consumo, dieta, sobras, fezes, urina, a fim de determinar consumo, digestibilidade e retenção de N. Como reflexo dos níveis crescentes de suplementação, os resultados demonstraram um padrão linear tanto de redução da ingestão do feno de azevém e da FDN quanto de aumento do consumo total de MS e MO. Da mesma forma, foi observado um padrão linear de aumento na digestibilidade da MS, da MO e na digestibilidade verdadeira da MO, assim como de diminuição na digestibilidade da PB (com base na eliminação de N). Conclui-se que a inclusão de farinha de batata-doce na alimentação de ovinos alimentados com feno de azevém é viável e que aumentou a ingestão e a digestibilidade da MS e da MO, embora tenha reduzido a digestibilidade da FDN e da PB.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate sweet potato feed as an alternative energy supplement for ovine. A latin-square design was used to assess the effects of feeding the animals 0, 0.5, 1 and 1.5% their body weight in sweet potato as well as ryegrass hay (Lolium multiflorum) twice daily, mineral salt and water ad libitum. During this study 8 males were housed in metabolic cages with urine and feces collectors. Each round of experimentation consisted of 14 days adaptation followed by 5 days evaluating the diet, left-overs, feces, and urine to determine intake, digestibility, and nitrogen retention. The results show a linear increase in intake of ryegrass hay, FDN, DM and OM because of the increasing supplementation levels. Similarly, we observed a linear increase in DM and OM intake, as well as in the OM digestibility. Additionally, BP digestibility decreased considering nitrogen excretion. In conclusion, sweet potato feed is a viable alternative for ovine receiving ryegrass hay since it increased DM and OM digestibility, albeit reducing NDF and BP digestibility.
