Abstract Tea is identified as the second most consumed drink in the world, and its frequent intake is related to several benefits to human health, considering its antimutagenic, anticarcinogenic, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, diuretic, calming, and above all, antioxidant effects. These effects are often associated with the action of the phenolic compounds contained in these infusions. In Brazil, among the most consumed infusions are the teas of chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla L.), lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus (D.C.) Stapf), lemon balm (Melissa officinalis L.), anise (Pimpinella anisum L.), yerba mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil), peppermint (Mentha piperita L.), and green/black tea (Camellia sinensis L.). Therefore, said popularity is the reason why the mentioned species were chosen to be evaluated on inflammatory enzymes. The activity of phospholipases A2 was reduced by more than 25% after treatment with black tea and yerba mate. The most significant inhibition of protease activity was observed after incubation with black tea (40.74%), green tea (31.48%) and yerba mate (25.93%). Infusions of black and green tea reduced hemolysis in semisolid and liquid media, and for the latter, reductions of up to 50% of hemolytic activity were observed, indicating an anti-inflammatory potential of the samples. Plasma incubations with green tea, black tea and lemon balm and subsequent addition of venom (1:10 ratio; tea:PBS, v:v) prolonged the coagulation time of citrated plasma by approximately twice compared to the positive control. All controls with pure tea had a thrombolytic character, in higher proportions than the venom control, especially chamomile (273.55% dissolution). Phenolic compounds derived from phenolic acids, flavonoids, and tannins are identified as the main agents that promote the biological effects observed in this study. This is mainly due to their anti-catalytic properties exerted on inflammatory enzymes and as chelating agents of enzymatic co-factors. The evaluated teas showed potential for nutraceutical use, thus pointing to the possibility of use as an adjuvant in the treatment of diseases linked to hemostasis.

Abstract Quilombolas are ethnic-racial groups, of black ancestry, and had their territories consolidated in Brazil in regions with difficult access and far from large centers. The objective of this study is to know the therapeutic itinerary (IT) adopted by quilombola women in traditional communities located in the North of the state of Minas Gerais. This is a qualitative study with the theoretical model using the Arthur Kleinman health care system. The study scenario was 23 quilombola communities in northern Minas Gerais. Forty quilombola women aged between 25 and 89 years were interviewed. Data analysis was performed following the IT. Units of analysis emerged that were grouped into three categories: quilombola women and the meaning of health and care; the professional care system in quilombola communities; and route of care in situations experienced by women. The therapeutic itinerary of the communities is mainly related to the actions of popular medicine. It was also possible to observe that there are weaknesses in relation to health care due to factors such as difficulty of access to institutionalized services.

Resumo Os quilombolas são grupos étnico-raciais de ancestralidade negra e tiveram seus territórios consolidados no Brasil em regiões com acesso difícil e distante dos grandes centros. O objetivo desse estudo é conhecer o itinerário terapêutico (IT) adotado por mulheres quilombolas em comunidades tradicionais localizadas no norte do estado de Minas Gerais. Trata-se de um estudo com abordagem qualitativa com o modelo teórico utilizando o sistema de cuidados à saúde de Arthur Kleinman. O estudo se deu em 23 comunidades quilombolas do norte de Minas Gerais. Foram entrevistadas 40 mulheres quilombolas, com idades entre 25 e 89 anos. A análise dos dados foi realizada seguindo os IT. Emergiram unidades de análise que foram agrupadas em três categorias: as mulheres quilombolas e o significado da saúde e do cuidado; o sistema de cuidado profissional nas comunidades quilombolas; e itinerário de cuidados nas situações vivenciadas pelas mulheres. O itinerário terapêutico das comunidades se mostra relacionado principalmente às ações de medicina popular. Foi possível observar ainda que existem fragilidades em relação à atenção à saúde devido a fatores como dificuldade de acesso aos serviços institucionalizados.

Abstract This article aimed to map therapeutic itineraries in health care within rural Quilombola communities in the north of Minas Gerais, Brazil. This is a section of a qualitative research conducted in six visited communities. The data was collected through 18 individual interviews, analyzed using the theoretical-methodological framework of Therapeutic Itineraries, and organized into three empirical themes. The narratives allowed for understanding the paths taken in health care by the Quilombola population, identifying the components of the popular subsystem (natural resources, the use of teas and home remedies), the family subsystem (transmission of knowledge and cultural heritage of care), and the professional subsystem (hospital level, medical care, primary and specialized attention). The difficulties of access are not only due to geographical distances, but also broader aspects of social determination, such as institutional racism, low availability of services, the need for payment for transportation and medical procedures. In this sense, it is necessary to have an approach and interventions from public policies to address ethnic-racial, economic, and access inequalities in health care services.

Resumo Este artigo teve como objetivo mapear os itinerários terapêuticos no cuidado em saúde em comunidades quilombolas rurais no norte de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Trata-se de um recorte de uma pesquisa qualitativa realizada em seis comunidades visitadas. Os dados foram produzidos por meio de 18 entrevistas individuais, analisados pelo referencial teórico-metodológico dos itinerários terapêuticos e organizados em três temas empíricos. As narrativas permitiram a compreensão dos percursos trilhados no cuidado em saúde pela população quilombola, a identificação dos componentes do subsistema popular (recursos naturais, o uso de chás e remédios caseiros), do subsistema familiar (transmissão de conhecimentos e herança cultural de cuidados), e do subsistema profissional (nível hospitalar, cuidados médicos, atenção primária e especializada). As dificuldades de acesso não decorrem apenas das distâncias geográficas, envolvem aspectos mais amplos da determinação social, como o racismo institucional, a baixa oferta de serviços, a necessidade de pagamento para deslocamentos e procedimentos médicos. Nesse sentido, fazem-se necessárias uma abordagem e intervenções das políticas públicas frente às desigualdades étnico-raciais, econômicas e de acesso aos serviços de cuidado em saúde.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the relationship between birth weight and the autonomic nervous system in adulthood through a systematic review. Data source: This is a systematic review of publications without limitation of year and language. We included studies involving the autonomic nervous system and birth weight in adults. Manuscripts were selected based on electronic searches of Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Web of Science Cochrane Library and Scopus databases, using “Autonomic Nervous System” OR “Heart Rate” OR “Heart Rate Variability” AND “Birth Weight” as a search strategy. This review is registered on the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews — PROSPERO (ID: CRD42020165622). Data synthesis: We found 894 articles; 215 were excluded for duplicity. Of the remaining 679 studies, 11 remained. Two were excluded because they did not specifically treat the autonomic nervous system or birth weight. There were nine publications, two cohort and seven cross-sectional studies. The main findings were that extreme, very low, low or high birth weight may have some impact on the autonomic nervous system in adult life. Conclusions: Birth weight outside the normality rate may have a negative influence on the autonomic nervous system, causing autonomic dysfunction and increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases in adult life. Thus, the importance of the follow-up of health professionals from pregnancy to gestation and throughout life, with preventive care being emphasized.

RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar a relação entre o peso ao nascer e o sistema nervoso autônomo na vida adulta por meio de uma revisão sistemática. Fontes de dados: Esta é uma revisão sistemática de publicações, sem limitação de ano e idioma. Incluímos estudos envolvendo o sistema nervoso autônomo e peso ao nascer em adultos. Os manuscritos foram selecionados das bases de dados eletrônicos Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL), Web of Science Cochrane Library e Scopus, utilizando “Autonomic Nervous System” OR “Heart Rate” OR “Heart Rate Variability” AND “Birth Weight” como estratégia de busca. Esta revisão está registrada pelo International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews — PROSPERO (ID: CRD42020165622). Síntese dos dados: Nós encontramos 894 artigos. Deles, 215 foram excluídos por duplicidade. Entre os 679 remanescentes, 11 permaneceram, dos quais dois foram excluídos por não tratarem especificamente do sistema nervoso autônomo ou do peso ao nascer. Restaram nove publicações, sendo duas longitudinais e sete transversais. Os principais achados foram que o peso extremo baixo, muito baixo, baixo ou alto ao nascer pode ter algum impacto no sistema nervoso autônomo na vida adulta. Conclusões: O peso ao nascer fora da normalidade pode influenciar negativamente o sistema nervoso autônomo, causando disfunção autonômica e aumentando o risco de doenças cardiovasculares na vida adulta. Assim, ressalta-se a importância do acompanhamento dos profissionais de saúde desde a gravidez até a gestação, pré-natal e ao longo da vida, com cuidados preventivos para esta situação.

Abstract This study aimed to identify, analyze, and integrate findings from studies that examined the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health of transgender and transvestite individuals. An integrative literature review was conducted according to PRISMA guidelines. A systematic search of primary studies was conducted across three databases: PubMed/MEDLINE, LILACS, and PsycINFO. Eight studies that met the inclusion criteria were included. Thematic analysis of the material generated six thematic categories. The studies analyzed pointed out that the situation of social vulnerability faced by trans people in their daily lives intensified during the pandemic. The need for physical distancing led to increased symptoms of anxiety and depression, worsening economic conditions, and difficulties in accessing procedures and medications that make up the gender affirmation process, in addition to exacerbating family conflicts and manifestations of transphobia. Therefore, there is a need to implement public policies and a social protection network to reduce the vulnerability and psychosocial suffering of the transgender and transvestite community.

Resumen El objetivo de este estudio es identificar, analizar e integrar los resultados de los estudios que examinaban el impacto de la pandemia de COVID-19 en la salud mental de las personas transexuales y travestis. Se realizó una revisión integrativa de acuerdo con las directrices PRISMA en tres bases de datos: PubMed/MEDLINE, LILACS y PsycINFO. Se incluyeron ocho estudios que cumplían con los criterios de inclusión. El análisis temático del material generó seis categorías temáticas. Los estudios analizados señalaron que la situación de vulnerabilidad social a la que están sometidas las personas trans en la vida cotidiana se amplió durante la pandemia. La necesidad de distanciamiento físico se tradujo en el aumento de los síntomas de ansiedad y depresión, el agravamiento de las condiciones económicas, las dificultades para acceder a los procedimientos y medicamentos que componen el proceso de afirmación del género, además de exacerbar los conflictos familiares y las manifestaciones de transfobia. Es necesario aplicar políticas públicas y una red de protección social para reducir la vulnerabilidad y el sufrimiento psicosocial de las personas transgénero.

Resumo Este estudo objetivou identificar, analisar e integrar resultados de estudos que examinaram o impacto da pandemia de COVID-19 na saúde mental de pessoas transexuais e travestis. Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura, em conformidade com as diretrizes PRISMA. Conduziu-se uma busca sistemática dos estudos primários publicados em três bases de dados: PubMed/MEDLINE, LILACS e PsycINFO. Foram incluídos oito estudos que atenderam aos critérios de inclusão. A análise temática do material gerou seis categorias temáticas. Os estudos analisados apontaram que a situação de vulnerabilidade social ao qual as pessoas trans encontram-se submetidas no cotidiano foi ampliada durante a pandemia. A necessidade do distanciamento físico resultou no aumento de sintomas de ansiedade e depressão, agravamento das condições econômicas, dificuldades para acessar procedimentos e medicamentos que compõem o processo de afirmação de gênero, além de exacerbar conflitos familiares e manifestações de transfobia. Há necessidade de implementar políticas públicas e uma rede de proteção social para diminuir a vulnerabilidade e sofrimento psicossocial de pessoas trans.

Resumen La evaluación de la expresión del ligando 1 de muerte programada (PD-L1) es un criterio de elegibilidad para la inmunoterapia anti-PD-L1 en el carcinoma oral de células escamosas (COCE). También deben evaluarse otros componentes del microambiente tisular. Aquí se informaron cuatro casos de carcinoma de células escamosas orales. Se realizaron análisis histopatológicos del grado tumoral y TIL (infiltrado inflamatorio asociado a tumor) e inmunohistoquímica para CD4, CD8 y PD-L1. Los casos se clasificaron según el microambiente tisular en resistencia inmunitaria adaptativa, ignorancia inmunológica, tolerancia o inducción intrínseca. Este análisis destaca la importancia de comprender el microambiente inmunológico que puede presentar el COCE para la identificación de dianas terapéuticas más eficaces contra la enfermedad.

Abstract The evaluation of the expression of programmed cell death protein (PD-L1) is an eligibility criterion for anti-PD-L1 immunotherapy in oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Other components of tissue microenvironment should also be evaluated. Here, four cases of oral squamous cells carcinoma were reported. Histopathological analysis of tumor grade and TILs and immunohistochemistry for CD4, CD8, and PD-L1 was done. The cases were classified according to the tissue microenvironment in adaptive immune resistance, immunological ignorance, tolerance, or intrinsic induction. This analysis highlights the importance of understanding the immunological microenvironment that the OSCC can present for the identification of more effective therapeutic targets against the disease.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: The identification of factors that influence a favorable antituberculosis treatment outcome could be of great use for the promotion of specific health actions to increase the success rate. Thus, the objective of this study was to investigate the factors affecting successful antituberculosis treatment in patients seen at a reference service in the Western region of São Paulo State/Brazil. METHODS: A retrospective study was carried out from 2010 to 2016 based on the data obtained from the Notification Disease Information System of TB patients treated at a reference service in Brazil. The study included patients with treatment outcomes and excluded those from the penitentiary system or with resistant or multidrug-resistant TB. Patients were categorized as having a successful (cured) or unsuccessful (treatment default and death) treatment outcome. The association between TB treatment outcomes and social and clinical factors was analyzed. RESULTS: A total of 356 cases of TB were treated between 2010 and 2016. Among the cases, the majority were cured and the overall treatment success rate was 85.96%, with a range between 80.33% (2010) and 97.65% (2016). After the exclusion of resistant/multidrug-resistant TB, 348 patients were analyzed. In the final logistic regression model analysis, education less than 8 years (OR 1.66; p<0.0001) and people living with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (OR 0.23; p<0.0046) were found to be significantly related to an unfavorable treatment outcome. CONCLUSION: Low education and being a person living with human immunodeficiency virus/acquired immunodeficiency syndrome are vulnerability factors that can affect the successful outcome of antituberculosis treatment.

Abstract Hydrocotyle umbellata L., Araliaceae, is a species that is recommended in Ayurvedic medicine for its effects on the central nervous system, such as anxiolytic and memory-stimulant effects. Despite the medicinal potential of this species, its phytopharmaceutical and technological potential to produce standardized extracts has not been investigated. This study analyzes the influence of spray drying parameters on the contents of the chemical markers (total phenolic, total flavonoid, and hibalactone) and the functional properties of H. umbellata extract. The optimization of drying conditions was performed using a central composite design combined with response surface methodology and desirability function approach. The mathematical models fitted to experimental data indicated that all the evaluated drying parameters significantly influenced the chemical contents. The optimal conditions were: inlet temperature of 120 °C, feed flow rate of 4 mL min-1, and colloidal silicon dioxide:maltodextrin ratio of 16%:4%. Under these conditions, the powder samples had spherical particles and desirable physicochemical and functional properties, such as low water activity and moisture content, good product recovery, reconstitution, and flowability. Thus, spray drying might be a promising technique for processing standardized H. umbellata extracts.

Abstract Background Acute myocardial infarction (AMI) without obstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) is a medical condition of great relevance, with clinical characteristics of AMI, but without evidence of coronary artery obstruction. The mechanism involved in the pathophysiology of the disease and its possible etiologies are important objects of study due to their impact on the morbidity and mortality of affected patients. Objectives The aim of this study was to systematically review MINOCA and its characteristics, with emphasis on the clinical profile of patients, etiology, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of the syndrome. Methods Relevant articles related to MINOCA were analyzed in the PubMed and LILACS databases. In the initial search stage, 619 eligible articles were obtained, with final inclusion criteria being: original systematic reviews with clinical, epidemiological, diagnostic, or treatment data on MINOCA, published in Portuguese or English, with an abstract, and a publication date limit of September 2020. Results A total of 10 articles classified as systematic reviews that considered clinical data on MINOCA were included in this review. Conclusion After analyzing various literature, the present study provided a tool to better understand MINOCA, not only regarding its casuistry but also in grouping parameters and information that contribute to a healthy approach to this clinical situation. It was possible to identify and better outline the clinical profile of patients who presented this condition and the use of appropriate tools for correct diagnosis and ideal treatment.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to assess the effect of standardizing observation and rating criteria for the front crawl stroke technique on inter- and intra-rater reliability in order to propose an observation list. Two teachers and two competitive swimming coaches with different academic backgrounds were responsible for evaluating the front crawl stroke technique of 44 swimmers using video. Each swimmer completed a 25m course at a comfortable speed, having their displacement recorded in the lateral and frontal planes, both submerged and out of water, in the final 10 m of the pool. Throughout the recording, the swimmers did not breath laterally. Only the movement performed by the right arm was the raters’ focus of observation and was based on a checklist. After the shooting, the raters participated in three stages: in the first stage, there was an intervention to standardize the observation and rating criteria; inter-rater agreement was tested in the second stage, while intra-rater agreement was obtained in the third. In the second stage of the study, the agreement ranged from small to low (k=0.08 and k=0.38). In the third stage, some raters showed poor and low agreement (k=-0.13 and k=0.35), while others showed agreement between reasonable and virtually perfect (k=0.64 and k=0.87). From the results presented, it was concluded that the intervention proposal did not have the desired effect of standardizing the observation and rating criteria among the raters.

RESUMO Esse estudo teve por objetivo avaliar o efeito da padronização dos critérios de observação e de avaliação da técnica da braçada do nado crawl na confiabilidade inter e intra avaliadores para uma proposta de lista de observação. Dois professores e dois treinadores de natação competitiva com formação acadêmica diferentes foram responsáveis por avaliar a técnica da braçada do nado crawl de 44 nadadores por meio de vídeo. Cada nadador realizou um percurso de 25m em velocidade confortável tendo seu deslocamento gravado nos planos lateral e frontal, ambos submersos e fora d’água, nos 10 m finais da piscina. No percurso de filmagem os nadadores não realizaram a respiração lateral. Somente o movimento realizado pelo braço direito foi foco de observação dos avaliadores e com base em uma lista de verificação. Após as filmagens os avaliadores participaram de três etapas: na primeira etapa houve uma intervenção para padronização dos critérios de observação e de avaliação. Na segunda etapa testou-se a concordância inter-avaliadores e, na terceira, a concordância intra-avaliador. Na segunda etapa do estudo a concordância variou de pequeno a baixa (k=0,08 e k=0,38). Na terceira etapa alguns avaliadores apresentaram concordância pobre e baixa (k=-0,13 e k=0,35), enquanto outros apresentaram concordância entre razoável e praticamente perfeita (k=0,64 e k=0,87). A partir dos resultados apresentados concluiu-se que a proposta de intervenção não surtiu o efeito desejado de padronização dos critérios de observação e avaliação entre os avaliadores.

ABSTRACT The school environment has contributed to the sports development process, especially due to the diversified offer of activities in Physical Education classes and extracurricular projects focused on sports. The work done with school volleyball teams in the state of Santa Catarina has been highly recognized over the years, but there is little evidence about schools that have contributed to the training of volleyball players in the Santa Catarina scenario. Thus, this study aimed to characterize the schools participating in the Jogos Escolares de Santa Catarina (JESC, Santa Catarina School Games) of volleyball. The documentary analysis of the JESC bulletins provided by the Fundação Catarinense de Esporte (FESPORTE, Santa Catarina Sports Foundation) was carried out. The evidence revealed that the educational establishments with the highest participation and achievements in both categories investigated were basic education schools of the state school system, followed by private educational institutions and, to a lesser extent, municipal schools. While in the women's group, the schools were mostly located in the East-North and South regions, in the men's group, they were concentrated in the Midwest region, especially in small and medium-sized cities with high Human Development Indices (HDIs).

RESUMO O ambiente escolar tem contribuído no processo de desenvolvimento esportivo, especialmente pela oferta diversificada de atividades nas aulas de Educação Física e em projetos extracurriculares voltados às modalidades esportivas. O trabalho realizado com as equipes escolares de voleibol no estado de Santa Catarina tem sido altamente reconhecido ao longo dos anos, porém há poucas evidências sobre as escolas que têm contribuído na formação de jogadores de voleibol no cenário catarinense. Assim, o objetivo do estudo foi caracterizar as escolas participantes dos Jogos Escolares de Santa Catarina (JESC) de voleibol. Realizou-se a análise documental dos boletins dos JESC disponibilizados pela Fundação Catarinense de Esporte (FESPORTE). As evidências revelaram que os estabelecimentos de ensino com maiores participações e conquistas, em ambas as categorias investigadas, são escolas de educação básica da rede estadual, seguidas pelas instituições de ensino da rede privada e, em menor número, por escolas municipais. Enquanto na categoria feminina as escolas estão localizadas em sua grande maioria nas regiões Leste-Norte e Sul, na categoria masculina concentram-se na região Centro-oeste, especialmente em cidades de pequeno e médio porte, com elevado Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano (IDH).

Abstract: Introduction: Typical medical care has been characterized by professional and disease-centered attitudes, with little concern for focusing on the patient’s psychosocial context and expectations. However, the medical care that seeks to more globally encompass the patient’s perspective has shown to bring greater benefits. Objective: To evaluate the attitudes of medical students regarding the physician-patient relationship. Methods: This is a cross-sectional study that evaluated the attitudes of students in the 4th semester of the medical course in relation to patient care based on the application of the Patient-Practitioner Orientation Scale and a questionnaire with sociodemographic and curricular characteristics. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software and the Mann-Whitney test, Kruskal-Wallis test with Dunn’s post hoc, and Chi-square test. Results: A total of 83 medical students participated in the study, with a prevalence of female students (74.7%), and those who declared a family income of less than US$ 2,140 (43.0%), as well as those who professed the Catholic religion (53.0%). The majority of students (85.5%) had attitudes centered on the physician and the disease (mean PPOS scores <4.57), with scores in the caring domain higher than those in the sharing domain. The variables gender, family income, student financial aid, and religion showed a positive association (p≤0.05) with PPOS scores related to patient-centered attitudes. There were no statistically significant associations of PPOS scores with the variables age group, city of origin, undergraduate research activities, extracurricular internships, artistic activities, personal and family history of serious illness, and parental level of schooling. Conclusion: The present study showed that the assessed medical students had attitudes centered on the physician and on the disease, with mean PPOS scores below the range related to attitudes of humanized medicine.

Resumo: Introdução: O atendimento médico usual tem sido caracterizado por atitudes centradas no profissional e na doença, pouco se preocupando em focar o contexto psicossocial e as expectativas do paciente. Entretanto, o atendimento médico que procura abranger mais globalmente a perspectiva do paciente tem se mostrado mais eficiente ao promover maiores benefícios. Objetivo: Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar as atitudes de estudantes de Medicina a respeito da relação médico-paciente. Método: Trata-se de um estudo transversal que avaliou as atitudes de acadêmicos do quarto período de Medicina em relação à atenção aos pacientes a partir da aplicação da Escala de Orientação Médico-Paciente (EOMP) e de questionário com características sociodemográficas e curriculares. Os dados foram analisados no software Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS), e utilizaram-se o teste de Mann-Whitney, o teste de Kruskall-Wallis com post hoc de Dunn e o teste de qui-quadrado. Resultado: Participaram do estudo 83 estudantes de Medicina, com prevalência maior de alunos do sexo feminino (74,7%) e que declararam renda familiar inferior a dez salários mínimos (43,0%), bem como a religião católica (53,0%). A maioria dos acadêmicos (85,5%) apresentou atitudes centradas no médico e na doença (média de escores da EOMP < 4,57), com escores do domínio cuidar superiores aos do domínio compartilhar. As variáveis sexo, renda familiar, bolsa de auxílio financeiro estudantil e religião apresentaram associação positiva (p ≤ 0,05) com os escores da EOMP relacionados às atitudes centradas no paciente. Não foram observadas associações estatisticamente significativas dos escores da EOMP entre as variáveis faixa etária, cidade de procedência, realização de atividades de iniciação científica, estágios extracurriculares, atividades artísticas, antecedentes pessoais e familiares de doença grave, e escolaridade dos pais. Conclusão: O presente estudo demonstrou que os acadêmicos de Medicina avaliados apresentaram atitudes centradas no médico e na doença, com média de escores da EOMP abaixo do intervalo relacionado às atitudes da medicina humanizada.

Abstract Purpose To test the feasibility, reliability, and validity of the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) in an online format in university students from a low-income region. Methods This was a psychometric study, involving a study of reliability ( n = 117) and validity ( n = 195) in university students from a region with a Gini index of 0.56. The scale was applied at two time points with an interval of 2 weeks. This scale measures satisfaction with life based on five statements and responses ranging from 1 to 7 (strongly disagree to strongly agree). We conducted the reliability assessment using temporal stability and internal consistency and construct validity assessment by internal structure solution. Results All SWLS items showed acceptable (rho > 0.30) and significant ( p < 0.05) temporal stability and acceptable internal consistency (alpha > 0.70). In construct validity (internal structure), we identified a factor with an explained variance of 59.0% in the exploratory factor analysis. Additionally, in the confirmatory factor analysis, we identified a one-factor structure solution for SWLS with an acceptable model fitting (chi-square/degrees of freedom [ X 2/df] = 6.53; Tucker–Lewis Index [TLI] = 0.991; Comparative Fit Index [CFI] = 0.996; root mean square error of approximation [RMSEA] = 0.040; standardized root mean-squared residual [SRMR] = 0.026). Conclusion The Satisfaction with Life Scale, in the online format, is a reliable and valid tool for university students in a low-income context.

ABSTRACT This article demonstrates the potential and the limits of post-mortem inventories as documents for the study of material culture and urban history. We characterized the urban houses of São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais, between 1800 and 1816 and analyzed their descriptions to identify aspects that contributed to a good valuation of the buildings. The documental framework of the research consisted of 374 inventories, which described 219 houses. The data collection was guided by items of the documents that might contain buildings descriptions: list of real estate units, sharing and addition records, and references to wills. The information about the location, the street (urban or rural area), the typology (ground floor or two-storey), and the constituent parts of the houses (kitchen, backyard, floor, roof, ceiling, etc.) was compiled. Also, we considered the social condition of the owners and neighbors. We concluded that the evaluation of urban houses in the village of São João del-Rei permeated considered architectural criteria (tiled roof, floors, ceilings, backyards), urban aspects, and the social condition of the owners, such as being located in a central part of the village, bordering neighbors from social groups more or less from the elite, or being owned by people with other possessions. In this sense, the inventories enable us to analyze issues related to housing and its sociability established in the urban dynamic of the 19th century, under the interdisciplinarity point of view.

RESUMO Este artigo demonstra as potencialidades e os limites dos inventários post-mortem enquanto documentos para a análise de aspectos da cultura material e da história urbana. Caracterizamos as moradas de casas urbanas de São João del-Rei, Minas Gerais, entre 1800 e 1816 e analisamos suas descrições para identificar aspectos que contribuíam para a avaliação dos imóveis. O arcabouço documental da pesquisa foi composto por 374 inventários, os quais descreviam 219 casas. A coleta de dados foi orientada a partir de itens dos documentos que podiam conter descrições dos imóveis: lista de bens de raiz, autos de partilha e adição, além de referências a testamentos. Foram compiladas informações sobre a localização, o logradouro (área urbana ou rural), a tipologia (térrea ou de sobrado) e as partes constituintes do imóvel (cozinha, quintal, assoalho, cobertura, forro etc.). Ademais, consideramos a condição social dos proprietários e vizinhos. Concluímos que a avaliação das casas urbanas da vila de São João del-Rei levava em conta critérios arquitetônicos (cobertura de telhas, assoalhos, forros, quintais), aspectos urbanos e a condição social dos proprietários, como estar localizada em região central da vila, fazer divisa com vizinhos de grupos sociais mais ou menos elitizados ou pertencer a um potentado. Nesse sentido, sob o prisma da interdisciplinaridade, os inventários possibilitam analisar questões relacionadas à moradia e às sociabilidades estabelecidas na dinâmica urbana do século XIX.

Abstract A new species of Eigenmannia is described from the upper rio Paraná basin based on morphological and molecular data. It is distinguished for all congeners by a unique combination of morphometrics, meristics, osteological characters, a significant COI genetic divergence that ranges from 4.9 to 15.2%, and its karyotype. An osteological description for the new species is provided, the geographic distribution of Eigenmannia species in the upper rio Paraná basin is commented on, and the use of karyotype information in taxonomic studies is discussed.

Resumo Uma espécie nova de Eigenmannia é descrita da bacia do alto rio Paraná, com base em dados morfológicos e moleculares. Distingue-se de todas as congêneres por uma combinação única de caracteres morfométricos, merísticos, osteológicos, uma significativa divergência genética que varia de 4,9 a 15,2%, e pelo seu cariótipo. Uma descrição osteológica para a nova espécie é fornecida, a distribuição geográfica das espécies de Eigenmannia na bacia do alto rio Paraná é comentada, e o uso da informação do cariótipo em estudos taxonômicos é discutido.
