ABSTRACT Primary hypothyroidism is a common disorder in clinical practice. The management of most cases of hypothyroidism is usually straightforward, but the best approach in some special situations may raise questions among physicians. This position statement was prepared by experts from the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism to guide the management of three special situations, namely, hypothyroidism in the elderly, subclinical hypothyroidism in patients with heart disease, and difficult-to-control hypothyroidism. The authors prepared the present statement after conducting a search on the databases MEDLINE/PubMed, LILACS, and SciELO and selecting articles with the best evidence quality addressing the selected situations. The statement presents information about the current approach to patients in these special situations.

Abstract: Children with better motor skills tend to develop more positive peer relationships. However, there is little information about the relationship between motor skills and the five sociometric status groups, as well as how much it interferes with self-perception of social status. Objective: To analyze the as sociation of low motor skills with sociometric status and perceived social status in students aged 7 to 10 years. Subjects and Method: Cross-sectional, descriptive study with convenience sampling. Parti cipated in the study children in public schools from Florianopolis, Brazil. Children with disabilities and those who changed schools during the school year were excluded. Motor skills were evaluated by the Movement Assessment Battery for Children (MABC-2), validated for this population. Movement skills were considered low when they were below the 15th percentile. Sociometric Status was assessed using the Subjective Scale of Social Status in the Classroom, according to the sociometric method, and the Perceived Social Status by the MacArthur Scale of Subjective Social Status, classifying chil dren into five groups. Multinominal logistic regression analysis was performed. Results: 439 children participated (242 girls and 197 boys), with a median age of 8.94 ± 1.03. Participants classified as rejected, neglected, and controversial, regarding sociometric status, were 5.01, 2.40, and 2.86, respectively, more likely to present low motor skills when compared with the average group. Regarding perceived social status, there were no significant differences. Conclusion: The difficulties found in children with low motor skills go beyond the motor domain, extending to social relationships.

Resumen: Introducción: Los niños con mejores habilidades motoras tienden a desarrollar relaciones más positivas con sus compañeros. Sin embargo, se sabe poco sobre la relación entre las habilidades motoras y los cinco grupos de estatus sociométrico, así como sobre cuánto interfiere con la autopercepción del estatus social. Objetivo: Analizar la asociación entre la motricidad baja con el estatus sociométrico y el social estado percibido en estudiantes de 7 a 10 años. Sujetos y Método: Estudio transversal, descriptivo. Muestreo por conveniencia de niños de colegios estatales de Florianópolis, Brasil. Se excluyeron ni ños con discapacidad y los que se cambiaron del colegio durante el periodo de estudio. Las habilida des motoras fueron evaluadas por la Batería de Evaluación del Movimiento para Niños (MABC-2) validado para la población, se consideró habilidades de movimiento bajas cuando se encontraba bajo el percentil 15. El Estado Sociométrico se evaluó mediante la Escala Subjetiva de Estado Social en el Aula, según el método sociométrico y el social estado percibido por la Escala MacArthur de Es tado Social Subjetivo, a partir de los cual se clasificaron los niños en 5 grupos. Se realizó análisis de regresión logística multinomial. Resultados: Participaron 439 niños (242 niñas y 197 niños), edad promedio 8,94 ± 1,03. Los participantes clasificados como rechazados, desatendidos y controvertidos con respecto al estado sociométrico tenían, respectivamente, 5,01, 2,40, y 2,86 veces mayor proba bilidad de presentar habilidades motoras bajas en comparación con el grupo promedio. En cuanto al social estado percibido, no se encontraron diferencias significativas. Conclusión: Las dificultades encontradas en niños con habilidades motoras bajas van más allá del dominio motor, extendiéndose a las relaciones sociales.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a interação entre genótipos e ambientes para o escurecimento de grãos de feijão carioca (Phaseolus vulgaris), a fim de selecionar linhagens que associem escurecimento lento, arquitetura ereta, tolerância ao acamamento, e maior produtividade e peso de 100 grãos, com boa adaptabilidade e estabilidade para esses caracteres. Foram avaliadas 44 linhagens pré-selecionadas, oriundas de cruzamentos entre uma cultivar com escurecimento lento e arquitetura prostrada e quatro cultivares com escurecimento normal e arquitetura ereta, em experimentos de campo conduzidos em 15 ambientes (combinações de locais, épocas de semeadura e anos). Ao se considerar as médias, a adaptabilidade e a estabilidade para cada caráter isoladamente, a maior parte das linhagens apresentou desempenho satisfatório: 75% para escurecimento lento, 48% para alta produtividade, 59% para arquitetura ereta, 84% para tolerância ao acamamento e 68% para peso de 100 grãos. Os efeitos dos ambientes e da interação entre genótipos e ambientes são importantes para os cinco caracteres estudados. As linhagens CNFC 16754 e CNFC 16820 apresentam escurecimento lento dos grãos, alta produtividade e peso de 100 grãos, plantas mais eretas e alta tolerância ao acamamento, além de alta adaptabilidade e estabilidade para esses caracteres, o que mostra o seu potencial para recomendação como novas cultivares e confirma que é possível reunir fenótipos desejáveis para os cinco caracteres avaliados.

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the interaction between genotypes and environment for seed-coat darkening of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) seeds, in order to select lines that combine slow darkening, upright plants, resistance to lodging, and higher yield and 100-grain weight, with good adaptability and stability for these traits. Forty four pre-selected lines, originating from crosses between one cultivar with slow darkening and prostrate plants and four cultivars with normal darkening and upright plants, were evaluated in field trials conducted in 15 environments (combinations of locations, crop seasons, and years). Considering the mean values, adaptability, and stability for each isolated trait, most of the lines presented satisfactory performance: 75% for slow darkening, 48% for high yield, 59% for upright plants, 84% for resistance to lodging, and 68% for 100-grain weight. The effects of environments and of the genotype by environment interaction are important for the five studied traits. The CNFC 16754 and CNFC 16820 lines present slow seed-coat darkening, high yield and 100-grain weight, more upright plant architecture, and greater resistance to lodging, besides high adaptability and stability for these traits, which shows their potential for recommendation as new cultivars and confirms that it is possible to join desirable phenotypes for the five traits evaluated.

Abstract BRS FC104 is a carioca seeded common bean cultivar with super-early maturity (mean of 65 days; emergence to physiological maturity) and disease resistance superior to other early maturity carioca seeded cultivars. Is is recommended for growing in 21 Brazilian states and has high yield potential (3792 kg ha-1), a mean yield of 2186 kg ha-1, and 6.9% higher mean of the relative yield compared to the control cultivars.

Resumo Objetivou-se avaliar as propriedades psicométricas da QOE para o contexto esportivo brasileiro, em termos de validade de construto, validade discriminante e confiabilidade. Participaram do estudo 387 atletas e 480 universitários. O QOE carregou um único fator e apresentou excelente capacidade discriminante entre os participantes atletas e não atletas. Conclui-se que o QOE mostrou um bom desempenho psicométrico quando estudado a partir de uma amostra de atletas brasileiros de diferentes modalidades.

Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the SOQ for the Brazilian sport context, in terms of construct validity, discriminant validity and reliability. The study included 387 athletes and 480 university studies. The SOQ carried a single factor and presented excellent discriminant capacity among athletes and non-athletes. It was concluded that the SOQ showed a good psychometric performance when studied from a sample of Brazilian athletes of different modalities.

Resumen El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar las propiedades psicométricas del COD en el contexto deportivo brasileño, en términos de validez estructural, validez discriminante y fiabilidad. Participaron en el estudio 387 deportistas y 480 universitarios. El COD tenía un único factor y presentó una excelente capacidad discriminante entre los participantes deportistas y no deportistas. Se concluye que el COD mostró un buen rendimiento psicométrico al realizar un análisis a partir de una muestra de deportistas brasileños de diferentes modalidades.

Abstract BRS FP403 is a common bean cultivar from the black bean market class with high grain yield and yield potential, high commercial and cooking quality, and moderate resistance to fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. phaseoli) and root rot diseases (Fusarium solani f. sp. phaseoli and Rhizoctonia solani).

Abstract BRS Sublime is a common bean cultivar with carioca grains, high nutritional grain quality, and high yield potential (4667 kg ha-1). It has a normal cycle, upright growth, low loss rates in the mechanical harvest, and is recommended for planting in 19 Brazilian states, in the three main common bean cultivation regions. It is the first cultivar developed in the world with angular leaf spot resistance.

RESUMO O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar os fatores associados à satisfação sexual pós-lesão medular. Oitenta homens com lesão medular compuseram a amostra. Utilizou-se um instrumento semiestruturado sobre prática de atividade física pós-lesão, frequência sexual semanal e satisfação sexual antes e após a lesão, além das características sociodemográficas e da lesão. Para análise estatística utilizaram-se os programas SPSS versão 20.0 e o R versão 3.3.1, considerando um nível de significância de 5%. Inicialmente, empregou-se a análise descritiva por meio de frequências relativas e absolutas. A correlação de Spearman foi utilizada para analisar a magnitude da associação entre as variáveis independentes (frequência sexual semanal, idade, nível de escolaridade, tempo de lesão) com o nível de satisfação após a lesão. Verificou-se a associação entre satisfação sexual e a prática de atividade física, tipo de lesão e parceiro sexual estável por meio da correlação policórica. Constatou-se que a satisfação sexual diminui após a lesão (p<0.001), havendo associação entre o nível de satisfação sexual após lesão com o tempo de lesão (r=0,28, ρ=0,01) e frequência sexual semanal (r=0,25, ρ=0,02) e com parceiras sexuais estáveis (r=0,26, ρ=0,01). Concluiu-se que a satisfação sexual é afetada pela lesão medular, associando-se de forma positiva com o tempo de lesão, frequência sexual e com presença de parceiros sexuais estáveis após a lesão. Sugerem-se novos estudos com classificações baseadas na escala ASIA.

ABSTRACT The aim of the study was to analyze the factors associated with sexual satisfaction after spinal cord injury. Eighty men with spinal cord injury composed the sample. We used a semi-structured questionnaire on the practice of post-injury physical activity, weekly sexual frequency and sexual satisfaction before and after the cord injury, besides the characteristics of the injury and the sociodemographic ones. The programs SPSS (version 20.0) and R (version 3.3.1) were used for statistical analysis, respecting the range of 5%. Initially, we used the descriptive analysis through absolute and relative frequencies. The Spearman correlation was used to analyze the magnitude of the association between the independent variables (weekly sexual frequency, age, education level and injury time) and the sexual satisfaction level after the injury. The association between sexual satisfaction and physical activity, and type of injury and stable sexual partner was verified by the Policoric test. We observed that the satisfaction level decreased significantly after the injury (p<0.001), and also an association between the level of sexual satisfaction after injury and its time (r=0.28, ρ =0.01) and weekly sexual frequency (r=0.25, ρ=0.02) with stable sexual partners (r=0.26, ρ=0.01). The conclusions point that sexual satisfaction is affected by spinal cord injury, associating positively with the injury time, sexual frequency and presence of stable sexual partners after injury. New studies based on the ASIA scale ratings are suggested.

RESUMEN El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar los factores asociados a la satisfacción sexual después de la lesión medular. Un total de 80 hombres con lesión medular compusieron la muestra. Se utilizó un instrumento semiestructurado sobre práctica de actividad física después de la lesión, frecuencia sexual semanal y satisfacción sexual antes y después de la lesión, además de las características sociodemográficas y de la lesión. Para el análisis estadístico, se utilizaron los programas SPSS versión 20.0 y R versión 3.3.1, considerándose un nivel de significancia del 5%. Inicialmente, se llevó a cabo el análisis descriptivo mediante frecuencias relativas y absolutas. Se utilizó la correlación de Spearman para analizar la magnitud de la asociación entre las variables independientes (frecuencia sexual semanal, edad, nivel de escolaridad, tiempo de lesión) con el nivel de satisfacción después de la lesión. Se verificó la asociación entre satisfacción sexual, práctica de actividad física, tipo de lesión y pareja sexual estable por medio de la correlación policórica. Se constató que la satisfacción sexual disminuye después de la lesión (p<0.001), con asociación entre el nivel de satisfacción sexual después de la lesión con el tiempo de lesión (r=0.28, ρ=0.01), frecuencia sexual semanal (r=0.25, ρ=0.02) y con parejas sexuales estables (r=0.26, ρ=0.01). Se concluye que la satisfacción sexual es afectada por la lesión medular, asociándose de forma positiva con el tiempo de lesión, frecuencia sexual y con presencia de parejas sexuales estables después de la lesión. Se sugieren nuevos estudios con clasificaciones basadas en la escala ASIA.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar o efeito de um programa de intervenção motora com exergames em crianças com risco e dificuldade significativa de movimento. Foram feitas 18 sessões de 45 minutos. Para identificar aas crianças com risco e dificuldade motora usou-se a bateria MABC-2. Nas análises pré-teste, no grupo experimental havia duas crianças com dificuldade de movimento e crianças com indicativo de risco de dificuldade, nas análises pós-teste verificou-se que apenas duas crianças estavam com risco de dificuldade e quatro sem dificuldade de movimento. Com isso, sugere-se que os exergames podem ser ferramentas úteis para a melhoria do desempenho motor, além de oferecer subsídio para uma opção de estimulação do movimento.

Abstract The aimed of this study was to verify the effect of a motor intervention program with exergames in children with risk and significant movement difficulty. 18 sessions of 45 minutes were performed.. The MABC-2 battery was used to identify children at risk and motor difficulty. In the pre-test, in the experimental group there were two children with difficulty of movement and four children with indicative of risk of difficulty, in the post-test analyzes, it was verified that only two children were at risk of difficulty and four were without difficulty of Movement. With this, it is suggested that the exergames can be useful tools for the improvement of the motor performance, besides offering subsidy for an alternative of stimulation of the movement.

Resumen El objetivo de este estudio fue comprobar el efecto de un programa de intervención motora con videojuegos activos en niños en riesgo e importante dificultad de movimiento. Se realizaron 18 sesiones de 45 minutos. Para identificar a los niños en riesgo y con motricidad difícil, se utilizó una batería MABC-2. En el análisis previo al estudio, en el grupo experimental había dos niños con dificultades de movimiento y cuatro niños sin dificultades de movimiento Con ello se sugiere que los videojuegos activos pueden ser herramientas útiles para logar una mejora del rendimiento motor, además de ofrecer ayuda a una alternativa de estimulación del movimiento.

Abstract - BRS FC402 is a common bean cultivar of the carioca-grain group with commercial grain quality, suitable for cultivation in 21 Brazilian states. Cultivar has a normal cycle (85-94 days), high yield potential (4479 kg ha-1), 10.1% higher mean yield than the controls (2462 kg ha-1) and resistance to fusarium wilt and anthracnose.

Resumo O status social subjetivo compreende a percepção de uma pessoa sobre sua posição social. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a associação entre o status social subjetivo e os indicadores sociodemográficos (faixa etária, grau de escolaridade, situação conjugal e nível econômico) de acordo com o sexo em atletas. Participaram deste estudo 593 atletas de ambos os sexos, com média de idade de 21,18 (± 5,58) anos, 371 homens, selecionados de forma aleatória, participantes de modalidades individuais e coletivas federados em clubes da região Oeste do Estado de Santa Catarina. A percepção do status social foi verificada por meio da Escala MacArthur versão para jovens, adaptada ao contexto esportivo. Para a associação da percepção de status com os indicadores sociodemográficos de acordo com o sexo, foram realizados os testes Qui-Quadrado e Regressão Logística Multinomial, bruta e ajustada pelas variáveis socidomeográficas investigadas. A insatisfação com o status foi encontrada em 85,0% da amostra. Além disso, os atletas se perceberam com um baixo status no contexto familiar (46,9%) e com um status médio no clube (46,0%). A associação entre as variáveis sociodemográficas com o status, de acordo com o sexo indicou que os homens mais novos, com menor escolaridade, e sem companheiros apresentaram mais chance de estar insatisfeito com o seu status. Atenta-se para a necessidade de uma maior atenção por parte dos profissionais envolvidos para com os atletas homens mais novos, com menor escolaridade, e sem companheiro(a) no que se refere a sua percepção de status.

Abstract Subjective social status comprises the perception of individuals about their social status. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between subjective social status and sociodemographic indicators (age, educational level, marital status and economic level) in athletes from Santa Catharina. A total of 593 athletes of both sexes and mean age of 21.18 (± 5.58) years, 371 men, randomly selected, practitioners of individual and collective sport modalities, federated in clubs in the western region of Santa Catarina participated in the study. Social status perception was assessed using the MacArthur scale version for young people adapted to the sports context. For the association between perceived status and sociodemographic indicators, the Chi-square and Multinomial Logistic Regression tests were used, stratified by gender and adjusted for age variables, educational level, marital status and socioeconomic status. Dissatisfaction with status was found in 85% of the sample. Moreover, 46.9% of participants perceived themselves with low family status and 46% perceived themselves with intermediate status in their clubs. The association between groups showed statistically significant differences according to sex, age, educational level and marital status. The association between sociodemographic variables and status according to sex indicated that younger men, with less education, and single were more likely to be dissatisfied with their status. There is need for greater attention by health professionals regarding younger male athletes, with lower education and single regarding their status perception.

RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar variações morfométricas da coluna vertebral cervical em pacientes portadores de mielopatia cervical espondilótica (MCE) por meio da ressonância magnética dinâmica nas posições neutra, em flexão e em extensão. Métodos: Este é um estudo prospectivo de pacientes portadores de MCE secundária à doença degenerativa da coluna vertebral cervical. Os parâmetros morfométricos foram avaliados pelas sequências de ressonância magnética ponderadas em T2, no plano sagital em posições neutra, flexão e extensão. Os parâmetros estudados foram o comprimento anterior da medula espinhal (CAME), o comprimento posterior da medula espinhal (CPME), o diâmetro do canal vertebral (DCV) e o diâmetro da medula espinhal (DME). Resultados: O CAME e o CPME foram mais longos em flexão do que nas posições neutra e em extensão, sendo encontrada diferença estatisticamente significativa entre a posição em flexão e extensão. O DCV e o DME foram maiores em flexão do que nas posições neutra e em extensão, no entanto não foi encontrada diferença estatisticamente significativa quando comparados nas posições neutra, em flexão e em extensão. Conclusão: O exame de ressonância magnética dinâmica permite avaliar as variações morfométricas do canal vertebral cervical em pacientes portadores de mielopatia cervical espondilótica.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate morphometric variations of the cervical spine in patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy (CSM) using dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in neutral, flexion and extension positions. Methods: This is a prospective study of patients with CSM secondary to degenerative disease of the cervical spine. The morphometric parameters were evaluated using T2-weighted MRI sequences in the sagittal plane in neutral, flexion and extension position of the neck. The parameters studied were the anterior length of the spinal cord (ALSC), the posterior length of the spinal cord (PLSC), the diameter of the vertebral canal (DVC) and the diameter of the spinal cord (DSC). Results: The ALSC and PLSC were longer in flexion than in extension and neutral position, with statistically significant difference between the flexion and extension position. The DVC and the DSC were greater in flexion than in extension and neutral position, however, there was no statistically significant difference when they were compared in the neutral, flexion and extension positions. Conclusion: Dynamic MRI allows to evaluate morphometric variations in the cervical spinal canal in patients with cervical spondylotic myelopathy.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Evaluar las variaciones morfométricas de la columna cervical en pacientes con mielopatía cervical espondilótica (MCE) mediante resonancia magnética dinámica en la posición neutra, en flexión y extensión. Métodos: Se trata de un estudio prospectivo de pacientes con MCE secundaria a la enfermedad degenerativa de la columna cervical. Los parámetros morfométricos fueron evaluados en las secuencias ponderadas en T2 en el plano sagital en la posición neutra, en flexión y extensión de la resonancia magnética. Los parámetros estudiados fueron la longitud anterior de la médula espinal (LAME), la longitud posterior de la médula espinal (LPME), el diámetro del canal espinal (DCE) y el diámetro de la médula espinal (DME). Resultados: La LAME y la LPME fueron más largas en flexión que en las posiciones neutra y en extensión, con diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre la posición en flexión y extensión. El DME y el DCE fueron mayores en flexión que en extensión y la posición neutra, sin embargo no hubo diferencia estadísticamente significativa cuando se compararon en la posición neutral, en flexión y extensión. Conclusión: El examen de resonancia magnética dinámica permite evaluar los cambios morfométricos en el canal espinal cervical en pacientes con mielopatía cervical espondilótica.

BRS Esteio is a common bean cultivar with black grains of excellent cooking quality, suited for cultivation in 21 Brazilian States. In 77 trials of Value for Cultivation and Use, the cultivar had a normal cycle (90 days), an average yield of 2,529 kg ha-1, which is 8.1% higher than that of the control cultivars, a high yield potential (4,702 kg ha-1), upright growth, tolerance to lodging, and moderate resistance to anthracnose.

BRS Ametista is a common bean cultivar with Carioca grain and yields similar to cultivar Pérola, but with larger grain size, resistance to anthracnose and Fusarium wilt. It is recommended for 18 states in all regions of Brazil and can be planted on over 95% of the area used for common bean in the country.

BRS Notável is a common bean cultivar with carioca grain, suitable for cultivation in 20 Brazilian states. It is a medium-early-maturing cultivar, with an average yield of 2,261 kg ha-1, 8.5% higher than the controls, a high yield potential (4,472 kg ha-1), lodging tolerance and resistance to anthracnose, fusarium wilt, common bacterial blight, and curtobacterium wilt.
