Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi distinguir o dimorfismo sexual de equinos da raça Campolina, por meio de medidas morfométricas, e classificá-los quanto ao sexo, tendo-se utilizado funções discriminantes. Foram mensurados 215 equinos, e avaliadas 39 medidas morfométricas. Realizaram-se análises de covariância e discriminante. Os machos foram mais altos e apresentaram peito mais largo, maior ângulo escapulo-umeral e maior pescoço, tanto em comprimento quanto em perímetro. As fêmeas apresentaram maior perímetro torácico, ancas mais largas e maior abertura dos ângulos coxo-solo e femorotibial. Em relação à classificação, as medidas de perímetros (85,58%) foram mais acuradas na diferenciação sexual do que as lineares (83,26%) e as angulares (73,02%). Quanto ao erro de classificação, do total de animais mensurados, de 10 a 20% das fêmeas foram categorizadas como machos. Além disso, de 11 a 38% dos machos foram categorizados como fêmeas. Conclui-se que, das 39 medidas morfométricas avaliadas, 22 são responsáveis pelo dimorfismo sexual em equinos da raça Campolina. As medidas de perímetros e lineares fornecem classificação mais assertiva para determinar o dimorfismo sexual. As medidas angulares mostram maiores erros de classificação em relação ao sexo dos equinos.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to distinguish the sexual dimorphism of horses of the Campolina breed, by morphometric measurements, and to classify them according to sex, using discriminating functions. Two-hundred and fifteen horses were measured, and 39 morphometric measurements were evaluated. The analysis of covariance and the discriminant analysis were performed. Males were taller and showed a wider chest, a greater scapular-humeral angle, and a larger neck, both in length and circumference. Females had a larger heart girth, wider hips, and a greater opening of the coxal-ground and femorotibial angles. Regarding classification, circumference measurements (85.58%) were more accurate in sexual differentiation than the linear (83.26%) and angular (73.02%) ones. As to classification error, of the total animals measured, 10 to 20% of the females were categorized as males. In addition, 11 to 38% of the males were categorized as females. It can be concluded that of the 39 morphometric measurements evaluated, 22 are responsible for sexual dimorphism in the Campolina horse breed. Circumference and linear measurements provide a more assertive classification to determine sexual dimorphism. Angular measurements show greater classification errors regarding the gender of the horses.

Resumo O presente artigo aborda o romance O homem sem qualidades, de Robert Musil, como uma obra que adota pontualmente o princípio fundamental da literatura: a ampliação das possibilidades, a partir da representação de uma experiência real de vida. Ao focalizarmos alguns dos aspectos centrais da composição do romance - o ensaísmo, a representação da realidade como ficção, o enredamento entre a forma narrativa e a reflexão sobre suas possibilidades - procuramos mostrar de que modo Musil procurou tornar a forma romanesca receptiva para novos conteúdos. Seu propósito era de escrever um romance condizente com as condições históricas de seu tempo e que também acenasse com uma nova forma de vida, na qual as instâncias do intelecto e do sentimento, ou da ciência e da arte, fossem complementares e não antagônicas.

Abstract This article deals with the novel Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften, by Robert Musil, as a work that accurately adopts a basal principle in literature, namely, the enhancement of possibilities stemming from the representation of real life experiences. Certain aspects of the book are emphasizes - e.g., essayism; the representation of reality as fiction; the entanglement between the narrative format and reflections on its possibilities - as we attempt to show how Musil tried to make the novel format receptive to new contents. His purpose was to write a novel according to the historical conditions of his time and that also alluded to a new kind of life in which the realms of intellect and sentiment, or science and art, are complementary and not antagonistic.

O presente artigo aborda alguns dos principais escritos de Anatol Rosenfeld sobre teatro, sobretudo O teatro épico, obra em que se debruça sobre os preceitos da dramaturgia de Brecht, bem como seu trabalho como organizador de antologias de autores canônicos da literatura alemã (Lessing, Goethe, Schiller), para mostrar como essas influências se cruzam em sua análise da produção teatral brasileira dos anos 1960. Nas entrelinhas da crítica de Rosenfeld, percebe-se a dimensão ética que ele atribuía à sua atividade intelectual e, ainda, um esforço de adaptar o potencial transformador do teatro brechtiano às demandas de um contexto político e cultural específico como o brasileiro.

In this paper we discuss some of Anatol Rosenfeld's most important writings on the theater, especially his O Teatro épico (Epic Theater), where he takes up the principles of Brecht's dramatic art and Brecht's work in organizing anthologies of outstanding German literary authors (Lessing, Goethe and Schiller, for example). The objective here is to show how all these influences are intertwined in Rosenfeld's analysis of the Brazilian theatrical production of the 1960s. Between the lines of Rosenfeld's critique one can see the ethical dimension he attributes to Brazil's intellectual activity. He also mentions the efforts taken to adapt the transforming potential of Brechtian theater to the specific political and cultural context of countries like Brazil.

Mais do que um princípio formal, a noção de ensaísmo de Robert Musil adquire o duplo estatuto de uma "utopia" e de uma atitude diante da realidade. é esse duplo viés que permitirá à arte preservar-se como potência crítica e epistemológica num contexto de crise cultural e de valores na Europa no início do XX. Este artigo aborda a noção de ensaísmo de Musil a partir de seus textos críticos e de seu romance O homem sem qualidades, demonstrando como as idéias expostas no registro estritamente "ensaístico" se configuram no âmbito da representação poética, consumando assim a "utopia" pretendida pelo autor, de fundar novas relações entre as esferas da razão e do sentimento, da ciência e da arte, da objetividade e da subjetividade.

Robert Musil's essayism concept is more than a formal principle: in his work this concept becomes at the same time a "utopia" and an attitude towards reality. This double aspect allows the art to preserve its critical and episthemological power in a European crisis context at the beginning of the 20th century. This paper deals with Musil's essayism in his critical essays and in his novel, Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften, pointing out how the essayistic ideas are outlined in the poetical representation, showing how one of the aspects of Musils "utopia" takes effect through the foundation of a new relation between reason and feeling, science and art, objectivity and subjectivity.

Bei Robert Musil gilt der Begriff des Essayismus nicht nur als formales Prinzip, sondern auch und vielmehr als eine "Utopie" und eine Haltung gegenüber der Wirklichkeit. Dieser doppelte Ansatz des Essayismus erlaubt der Kunst, ihre kritische und ephystemologische Macht zu bewahren gerade in diesem Krisen-Kontext Europas zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts. Dieser Aufsatz behandelt den Essayismus-Begriff Musils von seinen kritischen Texten und seinem Roman Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften ausgehend, um zu zeigen, wie sich die in Essays entwickelten Ideen im Bereich der Dichtung gestalten. Durch diese Gestaltung wird eines der Aspekte der Musilschen Utopie verwirklicht, nämlich, die Begründung neuer Beziehungen zwischen Ratio und Seele, Wissenschaft und Kunst, Objektivität und Subjektivität.
