RESUMO Neste estudo foi realizado um experimento de campo de longo prazo avaliando as taxas de evapotranspiração de módulos de telhados verdes irrigados e não irrigados, bem como seus impactos no controle de águas pluviais. Seis módulos de telhado verde (3 irrigados e 3 não irrigados) com vegetação de S. rupestre foram monitorados ao longo de 8 meses no sul do Brasil. Além disso, quatro módulos sem vegetação (2 irrigados e 2 não irrigados) foram avaliados simultaneamente para compreender o papel da vegetação em todo o processo. A evapotranspiração média sob condição de estresse hídrico (ETr) foi de 2,6 mm.dia-1, enquanto a evapotranspiração média sob condição de abundância hídrica (ETp) foi de 2,8 mm.dia-1. Maiores taxas de evapotranspiração foram observadas durante o verão, aumentando a capacidade de armazenamento do substrato, embora a quantidade de ETr ao longo das estações tenha sido muito semelhante, afetada principalmente pelas condições climáticas. A análise de longo prazo mostrou que 47% do total da chuva foi convertido em escoamento, 21% foi retido nos módulos de telhado verde e 32% foi liberado por evapotranspiração, reforçando a importância da vegetação como mecanismo para melhorar os benefícios de controle de águas pluviais. Os resultados desta pesquisa também permitiram o estabelecimento de uma série temporal do coeficiente de cultura (Kc), com média mensal de 0.9 que permite estimar preliminarmente a evapotranspiração do S. rupestre por meio de equações desenvolvidas para cultura de referência sem necessidade de monitoramento.

ABSTRACT In this study a long-term field experiment evaluating evapotranspiration rates from irrigated and non-irrigated green roof modules, as well their impacts on stormwater control was accomplished. Six green roof modules (3 irrigated and 3 non-irrigated) vegetated with S. rupestre were monitored throughout 8 months in southern Brazil. Four non-vegetated modules (2 irrigated and 2 non-irrigated) were simultaneously assessed to understand the role of the vegetation in the whole process. The average evapotranspiration under water-stress (ETr) was 2.6 mm.day-1, while mean evapotranspiration under water-abundance (ETp) was 2.8 mm.day-1. Higher evapotranspiration rates were observed during summer, increasing the substrate storage capacity, although ETr amount along the seasons was very similar, mainly affected by climatic conditions. The long-term analysis showed that 47% of the total rainfall was converted into runoff, 21% was retained in the green roof modules and 32% was released through evapotranspiration, reinforcing the importance of vegetation as a mechanism for improving stormwater control benefits. The results of this research also allowed the establishment of a crop coefficient (Kc) time series, with a monthly average of 0.9 which permits the S. rupestre evapotranspiration to be preliminarily estimated by using equations developed for reference culture without the need of monitoring.

RESUMO O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a composição florística da mata ciliar remanescente da Sanga Lagoão do Ouro, procurando obter informações acerca de sua degradação, analisando a distribuição das espécies nos diferentes estratos florísticos, a regeneração natural e a presença de espécies exóticas. O estudo foi realizado na mata ciliar da Sanga Lagoão do Ouro, tributário de 3ª ordem do Vacacaí-mirim. Sua nascente localiza-se em área urbana, percorrendo várias vilas, o Campus da UFSM, além de uma extensa área rural. Os solos predominantes classificam-se como: Argissolos Bruno-Acinzentados, Vermelho-Amarelos e Vermelhos, além de Planossolos Háplicos, sendo estes de baixa fertilidade natural e bastante suscetíveis à erosão hídrica. O levantamento florístico ocorreu em 12 parcelas de 300 m2 cada, demarcadas ao longo da margem da Sanga Lagoão do Ouro, em que foram avaliados os estratos: plântulas, regeneração natural e arbóreo. O levantamento florístico mostrou haver degradação da mata ciliar, evidenciada pelo baixo número de espécies nativas, pela má distribuição das espécies nos diferentes estratos e pela grande presença de espécies exóticas. Possuem maior potencial de regeneração natural nas espécies que apresentaram maior frequência e que aparecem nos três estratos florísticos levantados, tais como: Eugenia uniflora, Allophylus edulis (A.St.-Hil., Cambess. & A. Juss.) Radlk, Psidium guajava L., Cestrum strigilatum Ruiz & Pav., Prunus myrtifolia (L.) Urb., Zanthoxylum rhoifolium Lam., Casearia sylvestris Sw., Cupania vernalis Cambess. e Schinus terebinthifolius Raddi.

ABSTRACT This work aimed to evaluate the floristic composition of the remaining riparian forest of a stream called ‘Sanga Lagoão do Ouro’, seeking to obtain information about its degradation, analyzing the distribution of the species in the different floristic strata, the natural regeneration and the exotic species presence. The study was conducted at the riparian forest of ‘Sanga Lagoão do Ouro’, which is tributary of the third order of ‘Vacacaí-mirim’ River. Its spring is located in an urban area, covering several villages, the campus of Federal University of Santa Maria as well as an extensive rural area. The predominant soils are classified as: Bruno-Grayish (Bruno-Acinzentados), Red-Yellow (Vermelho-Amarelos) and Red (Vermelhos) Alfisols (Argissolos) and Udalf soil (Planossolos Háplicos), which are of low natural fertility and quite susceptible to water erosion. The floristic surveying was accomplished in 12 sampling plots of 300 m2 each, demarcated along the margin of the stream where the strata were evaluated: seedlings, natural regeneration and arboreal. The floristic survey shows degradation of the studied riparian forest, which is evidenced by the low number of native species, the poor distribution of the species in the different strata and the great presence of exotic species. The species that present the highest frequency and which appear in the three floristic strata mentioned in this study have greater for natural regeneration, such as: Eugenia uniflora, Allophylus edulis, Psidium guajava, Cestrum strigilatum, Prunus myrtifolia, Zanthoxylum rhoifolium, Casearia sylvestris, Cupania vernalis and Schinus terebinthifolius.

Resumo Bacias hidrográficas de captação para abastecimento público merecem especial atenção por parte dos gestores dos recursos hídricos, pois delas dependem a quantidade e a qualidade da água, elemento indispensável à sustentabilidade da vida e recurso fundamental para diversas atividades humanas. A situação destas bacias se agrava em função dos conflitos de uso da terra que acabam intensificando o processo de erosão e assoreamento dos reservatórios. Além disso, os diagnósticos que utilizam indicadores ambientais são importante ferramenta para o planejamento ambiental. Neste sentido, o presente estudo fez uso destes para avaliar a suscetibilidade natural do solo à erosão na área de abrangência da bacia de captação do reservatório DNOS, Santa Maria - RS. Para tal, usando mapas multitemáticos e geoprocessamento, obteve-se o mapeamento de vulnerabilidade, representado por índices. O mapa é uma importante e hábil ferramenta para o ordenamento territorial, o auxílio à gestão ambiental e a conservação dos recursos hídricos.

Abstract Watersheds used for water supply get special attention from managers, as the quantity and quality of supplied water depends on them. Water is an indispensable element of life and a fundamental resource for many human activities. The situation of these watersheds is aggravated by conflicts of land use that end up intensifying the process of erosion and sedimentation of the water reservoirs. In addition, diagnostics that use environmental indicators are important tools for environmental planning. The present study made use of these indicators to evaluate the natural soil susceptibility to erosion in the catchment area of the DNOS water reservoir, in Santa Maria, south of Brazil. Using multi-thematic maps and geoprocessing tools (GIS), we obtained a vulnerability mapping, represented by indexes. This map is an important and skillful tool for territorial planning, for aiding environmental management and conservation of water resources.

Resumen Las cuencas hidrográficas utilizadas para el suministro de agua merecen una atención especial de los administradores de los recursos hídricos, ya que la cantidad y calidad del agua suministrada dependen de ellas. La situación de estas cuencas se agrava en función de los conflictos de uso de la tierra que acaban intensificando el proceso de erosión y sedimentación de los reservorios. Además, los diagnósticos que utilizan indicadores ambientales son una importante herramienta para la planificación ambiental. En este sentido, el presente estudio hizo uso de éstos para evaluar la susceptibilidad natural del suelo a la erosión en el área de cobertura de la cuenca de captación del reservorio DNOS, Santa Maria, RS (Brasil). Para ello, usando mapas multitemáticos y geoprocesamiento, se obtuvo el mapeo de vulnerabilidad, representado por índices. El mapa es una importante y hábil herramienta para el ordenamiento territorial, la gestión ambiental y la conservación de los recursos hídricos.

Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito da estratificação de sementes na taxa de germinação, na velocidade de germinação e no desenvolvimento inicial de mudas de seis cultivares de nogueira-pecã (Carya illinoinensis) sob condições climáticas subtropicais, no Sul do Brasil. Para estratificação, as sementes foram acomodadas em caixas com areia úmida, em câmara fria a 4°C, por 90 dias. Na décima quarta semana após o plantio, foram avaliados o índice de velocidade de emergência, a emergência total, a altura da planta, o diâmetro do caule e o número de folhas. A estratificação das sementes melhora significativamente o potencial de germinação e as características morfológicas das cultivares avaliadas.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of seed stratification on germination rate, germination speed, and initial development of seedlings of six pecan (Carya illinoinensis) cultivars under subtropical climatic conditions in southern Brazil. For stratification, the seeds were placed in boxes with moist sand, in a cold chamber at 4°C, for 90 days. In the fourteenth week after sowing, the emergence speed index, total emergence, plant height, stem diameter, and number of leaves were evaluated. Seed stratification significantly improves the germination potential and morphological traits of the evaluated cultivars.

A podridão-de-raízes da erva-mate, causada por Fusarium spp., Rhizoctonia sp. e Pythium sp., é a principal doença da cultura e causa sérios prejuízos em viveiro e a campo. No entanto, existem poucos estudos referentes à epidemiologia dessa doença. Assim, o presente trabalho teve por objetivo estudar e descrever os principais aspectos epidemiológicos relacionados à podridão-de-raízes da erva-mate em viveiro e a campo. Para isso, foram demarcados para estudo ervais e viveiros localizados na região alta do Vale do Taquari - RS, nos quais se procedeu a coleta de flores, frutos, sementes, plântulas, mudas e substrato para análises laboratoriais. Observou-se que as flores podem ser a porta de entrada dos patógenos no patossistema, pois 80% delas apresentaram contaminação por Fusarium sp. e 15% por Rhizoctonia sp. Além disso, o método de obtenção e estratificação das sementes, utilizado pelos viveiristas, contribuem para o aumento da contaminação, chegando a 100% das sementes no momento da semeadura. Observou-se, também, que as mudas podem estar contaminadas, mesmo não apresentando sintomas e, ao serem replantadas a campo, venham a contaminar áreas livres dos patógenos. Os testes de patogenicidade com alguns isolados mostraram sua capacidade em causar a doença.

The root-rot of erva-mate, caused for Fusarium spp., Rhizoctonia sp. and Pythium sp., is the main disease of the culture and causes serious damages in nurseries and forest stands. However, few studies exist regarding to the epidemiology of this disease. Thus, the present work studied and described the main epidemic aspects related to erva-mate root-rot in nurseries and forest stands. For that, nurseries and forest stands were chosen for studies in Vale do Taquari, RS state, where flowers, fruits, seeds, plantlets, seedlings and soil were collected for laboratory analyses. It was observed that the pathogens can enter in the patho-system through the flowers, because 80% of them presented contamination of Fusarium sp. and 15% of Rhizoctonia sp. Moreover, the obtaining method and stratification of the seeds, used in the nurseries, contribute to the increase of contamination, reaching 100% of the seeds in the moment of sowing. It was also observed that contaminated seedlings may be symptomless and, after transplanting in the field, contaminate pathogen free areas. Pathogenicity tests with some isolates showed their capacity of causing the disease.

RESUMO Este trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar a influência da aplicação de diferentes doses de NPK e calcário sobre o crescimento da Erva-mate, a severidade da Podridão-de-raízes e a população fúngica do solo. Para isso, foi instalado um experimento em casa de vegetação, no Viveiro Florestal da UFSM, utilizando um delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, no esquema fatorial 4x3x4 (Fator F: inoculação de Fusarium spp.; Fator C: calagem do solo; Fator A: doses de nitrogênio, fósforo e potássio), totalizando 48 tratamentos. As mudas foram cultivadas em vasos contendo 2 kg de solo, classificado como Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo. Ao final do experimento foram medidos o diâmetro do colo, a altura a partir do colo, número de folhas, biomassa seca aérea, radicular e biomassa total das mudas. Também foi coletado solo, de cada tratamento, para análise química e contagem da população fúngica. Foi observado que a associação entre adubação NPK e calagem do solo prejudicou o desenvolvimento das mudas de Erva-mate. Pela análise de algumas variáveis sugere-se que a ausência de calagem proporcionou maior resistência às mudas ao ataque de Fusarium spp. ou, a severidade de Fusarium spp. foi diminuída em pH mais baixo. A população fúngica do solo apresentou comportamento variado em função dos tratamentos aplicados.

ABSTRACT The present work evaluated the influence of the application of NPK and liming doses in the soil, on the growth of Erva-mate, the severity of rot-root and the fungi population of the soil. To do so, an experiment was installed at the green house, in the Forest Nursery of UFSM, using an experimental design completely randomized factorial 4x3x4 (Factor F: Fusarium spp. inoculation; Factor C: soil limestone; Factor A: NPK doses) , totaling 48 treatments. The seedlings were cultivated in vases containing 2 kg of soil, classified as ‘Red-Yellow Argisoil’ (clay soil). At the end of the experiment was measured the stem diameter, height of the aerial part, leaves number, aerial dry biomass, root dry biomass and total dry biomass of the seedlings. Also, the soil was collected, from each treatment, for the chemical analysis and the counting of the fungi population. It was observed that the association among application of NPK and liming in the soil hampered the development of Erva-mate seedlings. The analysis of some variables suggests that the limestone absence provided greater resistance of seedlings to the attack of Fusarium spp. or the severity of Fusarium spp. was reduced in lower pH. The fungi population of the soil presented varied behavior depending on the applied treatments.

RESUMO A erva-mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) é uma espécie amplamente cultivada no sul do Brasil e países vizinhos. Suas folhas e galhos finos, preparados segundo método apropriado, fornecem o mate ou chimarrão, o mais popular chá consumido no Brasil e exportado para todo o mundo. Com o aumento da área plantada, sobretudo na última década, os problemas fitossanitários causados por pragas e doenças aumentaram e, dentre estes, a podridão-de-raízes vem se tornando um dos principais. A doença é causada por Fusarium spp. e provoca sérios danos decorrentes da destruição do sistema radicular, ocasionando, nos casos mais graves, morte da planta. A erva-mate é uma espécie que habita o sub-bosque da mata e o cultivo de forma homogênea a pleno sol pode ser um fator estressante ocasionando menor crescimento e desenvolvimento e também torná-la mais susceptível à podridão-de-raízes. Assim, foram instalados experimentos na área do Viveiro Florestal pertencente ao Departamento de Ciências Florestais da Universidade Federal de Santa Maria com o objetivo de confirmar tais hipóteses. O experimento foi desenvolvido em um esquema fatorial (2 x 5), composto pela inoculação de Fusarium spp. e por níveis de sombreamento. Foi observado que plantas submetidas aos menores níveis de sombreamento ou a pleno sol tiveram seu desenvolvimento prejudicado e ficaram mais suscetíveis à doença. As plantas inoculadas com Fusarium spp. tiveram menor desenvolvimento em comparação com as não inoculadas, especialmente nos menores níveis de sombreamento.

ABSTRACT The erva-mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) is a species broadly cultivated in southern Brazil and neighboring countries, whose leaves and fine branches, prepared according to the appropriate method, make the mate or “chimarrão”, the most popular tea consumed in Brazil and exported around the world. With an increasing planted area, mainly in the last decade, phytosanitary problems caused by pests and disease have increased in this crop and root-rot is becoming one of the main problems. The disease is caused by Fusarium spp. and it causes serious damage to the roots, in the most serious cases, leading to the death of the plant. The erva-mate is a species that inhabits the forest underwood, and cultivation in a homogeneous way to full sun can be a stressful factor for the species causing less growth and development and, also, more susceptibility to root-rot. Therefore, experiments were conducted in the Forest Nursery area belonging to Forest Sciences Department of the Federal University Santa Maria with the objective of confirming these assumptions. The experiment was conducted in a factorial design (2 x 5), composed by Fusarium spp. inoculation and by shading levels. It was verified that plants submitted to lower shading levels or full sun had less development and were more susceptible to the disease. The plants inoculated with Fusarium spp. had less development in comparison with non-inoculated plants, mainly at the lower shading levels.

RESUMO A erva-mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) é uma espécie amplamente cultivada na Região Sul do Brasil. Com o aumento da área plantada, sobretudo na última década, os problemas fitossanitários causados por pragas e doenças aumentaram e, dentre estes, a podridão-de-raízes vem se tornando um dos principais. Dentre os patógenos causadores dessa doença, Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht. e Fusarium solani (Mart.) Sacc são os principais. Esses fungos provocam sérios danos decorrentes da destruição do sistema radicular, ocasionando, nos casos mais graves, a morte da planta. Suspeita-se que a incidência e a severidade da doença são influenciadas pelo cultivo de ervais em diferentes níveis de sombreamento ou a pleno sol. Assim, foram instalados experimentos na área do Viveiro Florestal pertencente ao Departamento de Ciências Florestais/CCR/UFSM com o objetivo de confirmar tal hipótese. O experimento foi conduzido em um esquema fatorial (2 x 5), composto pela inoculação de Fusarium oxysporum e Fusarium solani e por níveis de sombreamento. Verificou-se que as plantas submetidas aos menores níveis de sombreamento ou a pleno sol ficaram predispostas à doença.

ABSTRACT Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil. is a broadly cultivated species in the South of Brazil. With the increasing planted area, mainly in the last decade, fitosanitary problems caused by pest and diseases have increased in this crop, and the root-rot is becoming one of the main problems. Among the pathogens, Fusarium oxysporum Schlecht. and Fusarium solani (Mart.) Sacc are the main ones. These fungi provoke severe damages resulting in the destruction of the root system and, in the most serious cases, they cause the death of the plant. It is suspected that the incidence and severity of disease are influenced by cultivation of Ilex paraguariensis in different levels of shading or full sun. Therefore, experiments were conducted in the Forest Nursery area belonging to Forest Sciences Department/CCR/UFSM with the objective of confirming this assumption. The experiment was conducted in a factorial design (2 x 5), composed by Fusarium oxysporum and Fusarium solani inoculation and by shading levels. It was verified that the plants submitted to lower shading levels or full sun had their predisposed to the disease.

RESUMO Em 2004, algumas plantações de erva-mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) do Vale do Taquari, RS, apresentaram estagnação do crescimento, amarelecimento, queda de folhas e necrose no sistema radicular, sintomas típicos da podridão-de-raízes. Amostras de raízes de plantas foram coletadas, em propriedades dos municípios de Ilópolis e Putinga, e enviadas ao Laboratório de Fitopatologia do Departamento de Defesa Sanitária/CCR/UFSM para análise fitopatológica. Foi constatada a presença de fungos dos gêneros Rhizoctonia e Pythium e estes se mostraram patogênicos quando inoculados em plantas de erva-mate. É a primeira constatação desses dois fungos causando podridão-de-raízes em ervais no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil.

ABSTRACT In 2004, some plantations of Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil. In Taquari Valley, state of Rio Grande do Sul, started presenting growth stagnation, yellowing, leaf drop and necrosis in the root system, typical symptoms of root rot. Roots samples were collected in farms of two cities and sent for analysis at the Plant Disease Laboratory at the Department of Plant Protection/CCR/UFSM. The presence of Rhizoctonia and Pythium was diagnosed and these were pathogenic when inoculated in plants of erva-mate. This is the first observation of these two fungi causing root rot in erva-mate plantations in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil.

RESUMO Com o objetivo de estudar a exigência nutricional de mudas de erva-mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) à adubação fosfatada, foi instalado um experimento no Centro Tecnológico de Silvicultura pertencente ao Departamento de Ciências Florestais/CCR/UFSM. Vasos com capacidade de 2 dm3 foram preenchidos com 2 kg de solo do tipo Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo coletado na camada superficial (0-20 cm), o qual foi destorroado, homogeneizado, seco ao ar, passado em peneira de 5 mm e posteriormente analisado quimicamente. Como adubação complementar, foram adicionados 64 mg kg-1 de N e 38 mg kg-1 de K, as fontes utilizadas foram CH4N2O e KCl, respectivamente. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado com oito tratamentos e seis repetições, distribuídos da seguinte forma: T1- testemunha (solo sem adição de P), T2-90 mg kg-1, T3-180 mg kg-1, T4-270 mg kg-1, T5-360 mg kg-1, T6-450 mg kg-1, T7-540 mg kg-1 e T8-630 mg kg-1 de P respectivamente, a fonte de P foi CaHPO4. Decorridos 10 meses da repicagem foram realizadas as medições das variáveis: altura da parte aérea, diâmetro do colo, biomassa acima do solo, biomassa radicular e biomassa total. O melhor desenvolvimento das mudas de erva-mate foi observado nas doses de 360 e 450 mg kg-1 de P.

ABSTRACT Experiments were installed in the Forestry Technological Center belonging to Forest Science/CCR/UFSM Department in order to study the nutritional exigency of Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil. seedlings to fertilization of phosphorus doses. Vases with capacity of 2 dm3 were filled out with Red Yellow Argisol soil collected from a superficial layer (0-20 cm), which was homogenized, dried in the air, past in sieve of 5 mm and analyzed chemically. As additional fertilization, 64 mg kg-1 of N and 38 mg kg-1 K were added the sources were CH4N2O and KCl. The experimental design used was completely randomized with 8 treatments and 6 repetitions, distributed in the following way: T1-control (sole without P addition), T2-90 mg kg-1, T3-180 mg kg-1, T4-270 mg kg-1, T5-360 mg kg-1, T6-450 mg kg-1, T7-540 mg kg-1 and T8-630 mg kg-1 of P, respectively. After 10 months, the following parameters were evaluated: the height of the aerial part, stem diameter, biomass above ground, root biomass and total biomass. The best development of the erva-mate seedlings were observed in the doses from 360 and 450 mg P kg-1.

RESUMO Em 2004, foram constatados sintomas da doença podridão-de-raízes em ervais nos municípios da região alta do Vale do Taquari, RS. Com o auxílio de técnicos da EMATER, fez-se um levantamento dos municípios que possuíam ervais com sintomas. Em 10% dos ervais afetados, coletaram-se amostras de raízes que foram enviadas para análise no Laboratório de Fitopatologia pertencente ao Departamento de Defesa Sanitária/CCR/UFSM. Foram isoladas e identificadas cinco diferentes espécies do fungo Fusarium associadas à doença: Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium solani, Fusarium decemcellulare, Fusarium tabacinum e Fusarium tricinctum. Todas as espécies se mostraram patogênicas quando inoculadas em plantas de erva- mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.). No momento da coleta das amostras, levantaram-se informações sobre o manejo do erval e discutiu-se a similaridade entre os sintomas apresentados na erva-mate e em culturas agronômicas bem como hipóteses sobre a origem do inóculo de Fusarium spp. que proporcionou a contaminação dos ervais.

ABSTRACT In 2004, symptoms of root rot disease were observed in erva-mate plantings in high areas of Region Taquari Valley, RS. With the help of EMATER, the municipal districts presenting plantings with symptoms were surveyed. In 10% of the affected plantings, root samples were collected and sent for analysis at the Plant Disease Laboratory at the Department of Plant Protection/CCR/UFSM. Five different species of at fungus Fusarium associated with the disease were isolated and identified: Fusarium oxysporum, Fusarium solani, Fusarium decemcellulare, Fusarium tabacinum and Fusarium tricinctum. All species were pathogenic when inoculated in erva-mate plants (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.). At the moment of sampling, information about the management of the erva-mate plantings was obtained and the similarity between the symptoms presented in erva-mate and in agronomic crops discussed, as well as hypotheses on the origin of the inoculum of Fusarium spp. that infected the erva-mate plantings.

Este experimento foi realizado com o objetivo de estudar os efeitos de diferentes doses de fósforo no crescimento de mudas de angico-vermelho (Parapiptadenia rigida). Como substrato foi utilizado Argissolo Vermelho-Amarelo, coletado na camada superficial (0-20 cm), e como adubação complementar foram adicionados 10 mg/kg de N e 12,5 kg de K, cujas fontes foram (NH4)2SO4 e KCl, respectivamente. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o inteiramente casualizado, com oito tratamentos e oito repetições, totalizando 64 parcelas, de uma planta cada. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por testemunha (solo sem adição de fósforo) e 90, 180, 270, 360, 450, 540 e 630 mg/kg de P (utilizando CaHPO4 como sal). Os recipientes utilizados foram vasos de polipropileno com capacidade de 2 dm³. A umidade dos vasos foi mantida em 80% da capacidade de campo. Após 130 dias foram avaliados os parâmetros altura da parte aérea, diâmetro do colo, biomassa acima do solo, biomassa radicular e biomassa total. A dose de 450 mg/kg de P resultou no maior crescimento das plantas de Parapiptadenia rigida.

This experiment was conducted to study the effects of different phosphorus doses on the growth of Angico-vermelho seedlings (Parapiptadenia rigida). As substratum, Red Yellow Argisol collected from a superficial layer (0-20 cm) was used and as additional fertilizers were added 10 mg/kg of N and 12.5 kg of K, whose sources were (NH4)2SO4 and KCl. The experimental design was completely randomized with 8 treatments and 8 repetitions, totalizing 64 plots, with one plant per plot. The treatments consisted of: control (soil without phosphorus addition), 90, 180, 270, 360, 450, 540 and 630 mg kg of P (utilizing CaHPO4 as salt). The recipients used were polypropylene vases with the capacity of 2.0 dm³. The humidity of the vases was kept at 80% of the field capacity. The following parameters were evaluated after 130 days: height of the aerial part, stem diameter, biomass above ground, root biomass and total biomass. The 450 mg/kg P dose resulted in the best growth of P. rigida plants.
