ABSTRACT The bacterial canker, caused by Xanthomonas citri pv. viticola, is the most important bacterial disease of grapevines cultivated in tropical areas. The objectives of this study were to select grape hybrids resistant to bacterial canker based on genotypic values and to evaluate the response of seedless grape hybrids to artificial infection with bacterial canker. Two experiments were conducted. The field experiment (Experiment I) was conducted with 569 hybrids, evaluated for symptoms of bacterial canker, in the absence of an experimental design, using a single individual of each genotype. Experiment II was conducted in a greenhouse, where ten seedless grape hybrids were evaluated in terms of incubation period, incidence, severity, and area under the progress curve of bacterial canker disease incidence, in a completely randomized design. The use of the residual maximum likelihood/best unbiased linear prediction methodology allowed the selection of 40 grape hybrids with lower genotypic values for resistance to bacterial canker. The CPATSA 49.25 and CPATSA 49.86 hybrids showed greater resistance to bacterial canker in all epidemiological parameters evaluated under greenhouse conditions.

Abstract The main objective of this paper was investigate the possible conditions and the influence of the National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture (PRONAF) on the rural development of microregions in the state of Minas Gerais, in the years 2006 and 2017. To this end, it was built through from factor analysis, the rural development index (IDR) for the purpose of synthesizing information related to rural development in Minas Gerais. The index was used to analyze possible spatial configurations and rural development conditions according to PRONAF. The main results obtained indicated that, despite the observance of improvements in family establishments, mainly, in economic terms (modernization and income) and the advance of the IDR of some microregions, the state of Minas Gerais was unable to boost its rural development only with the PRONAF. Although the distribution of the Program's resources in poorer regions was significant in 2006, in the year 2017, there was a directing of resources to regions with greater potential and whose agricultural production is turned to the foreign market.

Resumo O objetivo principal do artigo foi investigar as possíveis condições e a influência do Programa Nacional de Fortalecimento da Agricultura Familiar (PRONAF) sobre o desenvolvimento rural de microrregiões de Minas Gerais, nos anos de 2006 e 2017. Para tanto, foi construído o índice de desenvolvimento rural (IDR), por intermédio da análise fatorial. Em seguida, o IDR foi utilizado para analisar as possíveis condições do desenvolvimento rural de acordo com o PRONAF, a partir da análise qualitativa comparativa (QCA). Os principais resultados obtidos indicam que, apesar da observância de melhorias nos estabelecimentos familiares, principalmente em termos econômicos e o avanço do IDR em algumas microrregiões, Minas Gerais não conseguiu impulsionar o seu desenvolvimento rural somente com o PRONAF. Embora a distribuição dos recursos do programa em regiões mais carentes tenha sido significativa em 2006, no ano de 2017 observou-se o direcionamento dos recursos para regiões de maior potencial e produção agrícola voltada para o mercado externo.

Abstract Introduction: Treatment decision in patients with asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis (ACS) is a matter of current debate with a recent shift towards isolated best medical treatment (BMT) as treatment of choice in most patients. However, poor medical compliance is one of the main constraints to the success of BMT. We hypothesized that more invasive treatment approaches can influence how patients perceive the severity of their illness and hence, treatment compliance. Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed including patients with asymptomatic >50% carotid artery stenosis (NASCET method) followed-up as outpatients in a Vascular Surgery department from January 2017 to December 2021. Optimal BMT was defined according to the European Society of Vascular Surgery Carotid Atherosclerotic Disease 2023 guidelines. Demographic and risk factor patient data was attained and subsequently a Portuguese translation of the Morisky medication-taking adherence scale (MMAS-4) questionnaire was given to all patients. Several additional questions developed by our group were also applied. Results: A total of 320 patients were identified (186 under BMT alone and 134 submitted to BMT and carotid endarterectomy - CEA). Most patients were male in both groups (75%) and the mean age was similar. Furthermore, patients undergoing CEA presented higher rates of current smoking (51.4% vs 15.9%; p<0.001) and lower rates of antiplatelet (80.0% vs. 92.8%; p=0.029) and statin (78.6% vs. 94.2%; p=0.007) prescription. Patients in the CEA group also presented with significantly lower medical compliance (40.3% vs. 24.5%, p<0.001) despite being more aware of their current medication´s name and therapeutic purpose. Conclusion: In conclusion, physicians seem to be more aggressive in controlling risk factors in BMT-only patients when compared to CEA-submitted patients. However, patients subjected to CEA may be more aware of ACS, despite having poorer medical adherence.

Abstract The economic crisis has led to austerity in Portugal and in the European Union. This article conceptualizes the crisis and austerity as a “challenge” and reveals how it was manifested in the lives of older people. Very little is known about this topic, including in Portugal. Our study used a biographical/narrative approach and carried out 28 interviews with Portuguese older adults (65 years or more) living in Faro municipality. It concluded that the “challenge” is manifested by a contradiction between the lived old age and the expected/idealized old age, whose features vary according to sociological profiles.

Résumé La crise a conduit à l’austérité au Portugal et au sein de l’Union Européenne. Cet article conceptualise la crise et l’austérité comme une “épreuve” et révèle comment elle s’est manifestée dans la vie des personnes âgées. On sait peu de choses à ce sujet, particulièrement sur la réalité portugaise. Notre étude a utilisé une approche biographique/narrative et a réalisé 28 entrevues avec des personnes âgées (65 ans ou plus) portugaises, résidant à Faro. On a conclu que “l´épreuve” est définie par une contradiction entre la réalité de la vieillesse et la construction sociale du vieillissement et qui a plusieurs contours selon des profils sociologiques.

A través de un enfoque biográfico/narrativo con una muestra de 28 ancianos (65 años o más), de nacionalidad portuguesa, residentes en Faro, se concluyó que la "prueba" se manifestó en una contradicción entre la vejez realmente vivida y la vejez esperada/idealizada, cuyos contornos varían según los perfiles sociológicos.

Este artigo conceptualiza a crise e a austeridade como uma “prova” e revela o modo como esta se manifestou na vida dos mais velhos. Pouco se sabe sobre esta problemática, inclusivamente no que concerne à realidade portuguesa. Através de uma abordagem biográfica/narrativa junto de uma amostra de 28 pessoas mais velhas (65 ou mais anos de idade), de nacionalidade portuguesa, residentes em Faro, concluiu-se que a “prova” se manifestou numa contradição entre a velhice realmente vivida e a velhice esperada/idealizada, cujos contornos variam em função dos perfis sociológicos.

Abstract Introduction: Pneumaturia consists of the elimination of air in the urine stream. It is nearly a pathognomonic symptom of a colovesical fistula. However, other differential diagnoses should be considered such as emphysematous cystitis, vesicovaginal fistula, iatrogenic injuries due to urinary catheterisation, or endoscopic or surgical procedures that were made recently. Case description: The authors describe a case of a 55-year-old man, with previous diverticular colon disease and repetitive urinary tract infections, who has said that “I have the feeling of air elimination at the end of urinating”. Suspecting pneumaturia, an abdominopelvic TC and a colonoscopy were prescribed which have shown a colovesical fistula as a complication of sigmoid diverticular disease. The patient has undergone laparoscopic anterior resection of the rectum, without complications and with a good recovery. Comments: In daily practice, pneumaturia is an unusual symptom and is rarely mentioned in literature. Sometimes it is the first symptom of colovesical fistula, and one should always be suspicious of this rare complication, mainly in patients with previous diverticular disease and repetitive urinary tract infections.

Resumo Introdução: A pneumatúria consiste na eliminação de ar no jato urinário. É um sintoma quase patognomónico de fístula colo-vesical; contudo, devem ser considerados outros diagnósticos diferenciais como cistite enfisematosa, fístula vesicovaginal e lesões iatrogénicas decorrentes de algaliação ou procedimentos endoscópicos ou cirúrgicos recentes. Descrição do caso: Os autores descrevem o caso de um homem, de 55 anos, com antecedentes de doença diverticular do cólon e infeções urinárias de repetição, que referiu na consulta que “tenho a sensação de que elimino ar, no fim de urinar”. Perante a suspeita de pneumatúria foram pedidas TC abdomino-pélvica e colonoscopia, que documentaram uma fístula colo-vesical como complicação de doença diverticular do sigmoide. Foi submetido a resseção anterior do reto, via laparoscópica, que decorreu sem complicações e evoluiu com boa recuperação. Comentário: A pneumatúria é um sintoma pouco frequente na prática diária e pouco relatado na literatura. Por vezes, é o primeiro sintoma de fístula colo-vesical e deve sempre levantar suspeita desta complicação rara, principalmente em indivíduos com antecedentes de doença diverticular e infeções urinárias de repetição.

Abstract Introduction: Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a neurodegenerative disorder with an inexorably progressive course which leads to a progressive neuromuscular weakness. Weight loss is one of the major bad prognostic factors in ALS. The placement of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) is of paramount importance in patients with dysphagia to improve the disease outcomes, although some fear exists regarding the possible ventilatory complications during the procedure. The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of PEG tube insertion under non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in patients with ALS and severe ventilatory impairment. Methods: A retrospective study of all consecutive PEGs placed in our department from May 2011 to January 2018 in patients with ALS was performed. The procedure was performed under non-invasive positive-pressure ventilation for ventilatory support. Results: We included 59 patients with ALS with severe ventilatory impairment, 58% were female, with a mean age of 67.2 ± 10.1 years and a median follow-up of 6 [2-15] months. The main indication for PEG placement was dysphagia (98%). The median time for PEG tube insertion since the established diagnosis of ALS was 12 [6-25] months and 4 [2-18] months since the beginning of bulbar symptoms. The majority of the patients had placed a 20-Fr PEG (63%) and under mild sedation with midazolam (80%), all under NIV. There were no immediate complications during and after the procedure (no episodes of aspiration or orotracheal intubation) and mortality. Conclusion: The placement of PEG is a very important procedure in patients with ALS and severe ventilatory impairment. The interdisciplinary department collaboration permitted the placement of PEG under NIV, in a safe and effective procedure in this special population.

Resumo Introdução: A esclerose lateral amiotrófica (ELA) é uma doença neurodegenerativa com um curso inexorável que leva a fraqueza neuromuscular progressiva. A perda de peso é um dos principais fatores de mau prognóstico na ELA. Apesar do receio de complicações ventilatórias durante o procedimento, a colocação de gastrostomia percutânea endoscópica em doentes com disfagia é extremamente importante para melhorar o prognóstico. O objetivo deste estudo é avaliar a segurança e eficácia da colocação de gastrostomia percutânea endoscópica (GEP) sob ventilação não invasiva (VNI) em doentes com ELA e disfunção ventilatória grave. Métodos: Estudo retrospetivo de todas as gastrostomias percutâneas endoscópicas colocadas em doentes com ELA no nosso departamento entre Maio 2011 e Janeiro 2018. O procedimento foi realizado sob VNI para suporte ventilatório. Resultados: Foram incluídos 59 doentes com ELA e disfunção ventilatória grave, 58% do sexo feminino, com uma idade média de 67.2 ± 10.1 anos e um follow-up mediano de 6 [2-15] meses. A principal indicação para colocação de gastrostomia percutânea endoscópica foi disfagia (98%). O tempo mediano para a colocação de GEP desde o diagnóstico de ELA foi 12 [6-25] meses e 4 [2-18] meses desde o início dos sintomas bulbares. A maioria dos doentes colocaram uma GEP de 20 Fr (63%) e sob sedação com midazolam (80%), todos sob VNI. Não se verificaram complicações imediatas durante e após o procedimento (sem episódios de aspiração ou entubação orotraqueal) e mortalidade. Conclusão: A colocação de GEP é um procedimento muito importante em doentes com ELA e disfunção ventilatória grave. A colaboração interdisciplinar permitiu a colocação de GEP sob ventilação não invasiva, tornando-o um procedimento seguro e eficaz nesta população especial.

ABSTRACT Over the past decade, the business of producing juice from grapes (Vitis labrusca L. and hybrids) has been expanding in response to increasing consumption encouraged by campaigns promoting the benefits grape juice can have on health. This study aimed to determine the effect of the production cycle, vine training system, and rootstock on the yield and physical and physical-chemical characteristics of ‘BRS Magna’ grapes grown in the Vale do Submédio São Francisco in the northeastern region of Brazil. The study was conducted in Petrolina, Pernambuco, over eight production cycles (2017 to 2020). The grapevines were trained in three vine training trellis systems: espalier, lyre, and pergola; and grafted onto two rootstocks: IAC 572 and IAC 766. The production cycle, training system, and rootstocks affected the yield components, vigor, and physical characteristics of the BRS Magna grapes. The combination of the pergola training system and rootstock IAC 766 stood out from the others, providing mean yields estimated at 26 t ha –1 per production cycle. The soluble solids content (SS), titratable acidity (TA), and SS TA –1 ratio were affected neither by the training system nor the rootstock, and higher values for SS and lower values for TA were obtained in the first, second, fourth and eighth production cycles. Thus, the pergola training system and rootstock IAC 766 are recommended for promoting yield gains in the ‘BRS Magna’ grape in the Vale do Submédio São Francisco.

O objetivo foi analisar as percepções de trabalhadores da atenção primária à saúde (APS) sobre a colaboração interprofissional na perspectiva da ciência de implementação. Trata-se de estudo qualitativo que utilizou a entrevista em profundidade como técnica de produção de dados. Foram entrevistados 15 trabalhadores (três agentes comunitários de saúde, um auxiliar de enfermagem, três enfermeiros, três gerentes, três médicos e dois técnicos de enfermagem) de unidades básicas de saúde no Município de São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brasil. O roteiro da entrevista baseou-se em três dimensões do Quadro Conceitual Consolidado para Pesquisa de Implementação (CFIR; Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research). Foi realizada análise de conteúdo temática. Na dimensão características da colaboração interprofissional, os entrevistados destacaram a complexidade, e sua possível influência, na implementação e sustentabilidade dessa prática. Na dimensão cenário interno, foram identificados fatores que influenciam a colaboração interprofissional: como se utiliza o tempo destinado a comunicação formal/reuniões de equipe; interações sociais entre os profissionais; e características da liderança, como feedback, autonomia e participação nas decisões. Na dimensão características dos indivíduos, os participantes destacaram a colaboração interprofissional direcionada para a qualidade do cuidado e a necessidade de integração entre os núcleos de saberes. Assim, ações para aperfeiçoar a qualidade da comunicação, a construção coletiva em equipe e o aprimoramento da liderança podem contribuir para melhorar a colaboração interprofissional na APS e potencializar seus impactos na atenção à saúde.

The objective was to analyze the perceptions of primary health care (PHC) workers about interprofessional collaboration from the perspective of implementation science. This is a qualitative study that used in-depth interview as a data production technique. Interviews were conducted with 15 workers (three community health agents, one nursing assistant, three nurses, three managers, three physicians, and two nursing technicians) from basic health units in the Municipality of São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo State, Brazil. The interview plan was based on three domains of the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR). Thematic content analysis was used. In the interprofessional collaboration characteristics domain, respondents highlighted the complexity, and its possible influence, as to the implementation and sustainability of this practice. In the inner setting domain, factors that influence interprofessional collaboration were identified, namely: how the time allocated to formal communication/team meetings is used; social interactions between professionals; and leadership characteristics, such as feedback, autonomy and participation in decisions. In the individuals characteristics domain, participants noted interprofessional collaboration geared to quality of care and the need for integration between knowledge centers. Thus, measures to enhance the quality of communication, collective team building and leadership can contribute to improve interprofessional collaboration in PHC and leverage its impacts on health care.

El objetivo fue analizar las percepciones de los trabajadores de atención primaria de salud (APS) sobre la colaboración interprofesional desde la perspectiva de la ciencia de implementación. Se trata de un estudio cualitativo que utilizó la entrevista en profundidad como técnica de producción de datos. Fueron entrevistados 15 trabajadores (tres agentes comunitarios de salud, un auxiliar de enfermería, tres enfermeros, tres gerentes, tres médicos y dos técnicos de enfermería) de unidades básicas de salud en el Municipio de São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brasil. La guía de la entrevista se basó en tres dimensiones del Marco Consolidado para la Investigación sobre la Implementación (CFIR; Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research). Se realizó un análisis de contenido temático. En la dimensión característica de la colaboración interprofesional, los entrevistados destacaron la complejidad y la posible influencia en su implantación y sostenibilidad. En la dimensión escenario interno, fueron identificados factores que influencian en la colaboración interprofesional: cómo se utiliza el tiempo destinado a la comunicación formal/reuniones de equipo; las interacciones sociales entre los profesionales, y las características del liderazgo, como feedback, la autonomía y la participación en las decisiones. En la dimensión de las características de los individuos, los participantes destacaron la colaboración interprofesional orientada a la calidad de la atención y la necesidad de integración entre los núcleos de saberes. Así, las acciones para mejorar la calidad de la comunicación, la construcción colectiva en equipo y la mejora del liderazgo pueden contribuir para mejorar la colaboración interprofesional en la APS y mejorar sus impactos en la atención a la salud.

Abstract Probiotics are live microorganisms that when ingested in adequate amounts help in the balance of the intestinal microbiota. Kefir is considered a probiotic beverage associated with the improvement of several pathologies. Fruit juices are considered an excellent culture medium for these microorganisms, presenting nutrients that favor microbial growth. This work aimed to prepare a probiotic drink from the fermentation of whole grape juice by microorganisms from the water kefir. Different amounts of kefir grains were tested (5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 g) in 500 mL of grape juice. The fermentation processes were developed under static conditions at room temperature for 24 h. Seven formulations were tested for physical-chemical and microbiological analyses. A questionnaire on the knowledge and consumption of probiotics was applied to the academic community. Three formulations were selected for sensory analysis and stored under refrigeration. All formulations showed growth of lactic acid bacteria and no reduction in storage viability. A significant reduction in soluble solids was observed in all formulations, and an increase in acidity and pH formulations with 5 and 20 g of kefir, respectively. About 64% of the participants reported knowing the definition of probiotics. In addition, a low intake of this product was observed. The formulation with 5 grams of water kefir grains was better accepted by the consumers when compared to the others. Thus, grape juice can be a great alternative to consume probiotic microorganisms, especially for those who do not consume dairy products.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Social distancing has led to lifestyle changes among older adults during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. OBJECTIVES: This study aimed to estimate the prevalence risk of sarcopenia (RS) and investigate its associated factors during the COVID-19 pandemic in older Brazilian adults. DESIGN AND SETTING: Cross-sectional observational analysis of baseline data as part of the Remobilize Study. METHODS: Participants in the study were older adults (≥ 60 years), excluding those who were bedridden or institutionalized. The data collected consisted of answers about the RS (SARC-F), functional status, walking, sedentary behavior (SB), pain, comorbidity, and life space mobility. RESULTS: A total of 1,482 older adults (70 ± 8.14 years, 74% women) participated in the study, and an RS prevalence of 17.1% was found. (95% confidence interval [CI] 15.25–19.15%). The adjusted multivariate model showed a significant association between RS and functional limitation (odds ratio [OR]: 19.05; CI 13.00–28.32), comorbidity (OR: 5.11; CI 3.44–7.81), pain (OR: 4.56; CI 3.33–6.28), total walking (OR: 0.99; CI 0.99–1.00), SB of 8–10 hours (OR: 1.85; CI 1.15–2.93), and SB of > 10 hours (OR: 3.93; CI 2.48–6.22). RS was associated with mobility during the pandemic (OR: 0.97; CI 0.96–0.98). P < 0.05. CONCLUSIONS: During the pandemic, the prevalence of RS in older Brazilians was estimated at 17.1%. Moderate to severe functional limitation, comorbidities, presence of pain, walking, longer SB period, and reduced life space mobility significantly contributed to RS in older adults during the pandemic.

Abstract Introduction Nurses from the night shift are exposed to sleep deprivation, which is associated with circadian rhythm alteration, lifestyle changes, psychosocial stress, and, consequently, increased risk of blood pressure (BP) deregulation and hypertension. Objective To analyze risk factors associated with elevated BP levels in nursing workers. Methods A transversal, quantitative study was conducted with 172 nursing professionals of a large hospital in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil. The following data were collected: anthropometric and BP measurements, sociodemographic characteristics, clinical variables, and lifestyle habits. Results were evaluated by bivariate analysis and logistic regression. The level of significance adopted in the statistical analysis was 5%. Results Participants’ average age was 42.7 ± 9.6 years old; 86.6% (n = 149) were female, and 20.3% (n = 35) had previous diagnosis of hypertension. Overweight and obesity (odds ratio [OR]: 2.187, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.060 – 4.509) and night shift (OR: 2.100, CI 95%: 1.061 – 4.158) were statistically significant (p < 0.05) for increased risk of elevated BP level. Conclusion Excessive weight and night shift were significant factors for increased BP in nursing workers.

ABSTRACT The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of the grape cultivar combined with rootstocks on yield and fruit traits of grapevine in the São Francisco Valley, in the Northeast of Brazil. The experiment was carried out over eight growing seasons (2014 to 2018) in Petrolina, Pernambuco, Brazil. The treatments were represented by five seedless table grape cultivars (A Dona, Arizul, Marroo Seedless, BRS Clara, and BRS Maria Bonita) and six rootstocks (IAC 313, IAC 766, IAC 572, SO4, Harmony, and Paulsen 1103) in a randomized block experimental design with three replicates. Principal component analysis showed that 59.2% of the variation found in the data was related to principal component (PC) 1 (42.76%) associated with the number of bunches and berry weight, length, and diameter variables; and PC 2 (16.4%) correlated with yield per vine. The yield per vine showed a significant positive correlation with number of bunches, bunch length, soluble solids content, and titratable acidity, and showed a negative correlation with berry length. A Dona and Marroo Seedless grapes had the highest yield, regardless of the rootstocks they were grafted onto, whereas BRS Clara had high values for soluble solids content and titratable acidity and a balanced SS/TA ratio. In contrast, BRS Maria Bonita had the lowest yielding grape cultivar, although it had the greatest bunch weight and berry length. The rootstocks affected the agronomic performance of the table grape cultivars in most variables, depending on the effect of different grape cultivars × rootstock combinations.

Abstract The aim of the present study was to identify grape parent varieties that lead to greater frequency of seedless genotypes in the progenies and to understand the relationships between the seedless trait and other fruit traits. A group of 200 hybrids (F1) originating from 38 crosses among cultivars of Vitis vinifera L. and interspecific hybrids were evaluated in Juazeiro, Bahia, Brazil, over six consecutive crop seasons (2018 to 2021). The progenies were placed in three classes based on seedlessness: completely seedless (class 1), seed traces or soft seeds (class 2), and with seeds (class 3). The mean dry matter of the seeds in each class was 0 mg, 2.3 mg, and 25.7 mg respectively, which corresponded to 40 genotypes (20%) in class 1, 52 genotypes (26%) in class 2, and 108 (54%) in class 3. The interspecific cross ‘BRS Isis’ and ‘Marroo Seedless’ stood out through favoring high frequency of seedless individuals in the progeny (47.5%). The traits associated with berry size (length, diameter, and weight) had high positive correlations with each other. The results obtained make an important contribution for table grape breeding aiming at the development of new table grape cultivars.

Resumo O objetivo do presente trabalho foi identificar genitores que proporcionem maior frequência de genótipos apirenos nas progênies, bem como compreender as relações entre a característica apirenia e outras características do fruto. Foram avaliados 200 híbridos (F1) originados de 38 cruzamentos entre cultivares de Vitis vinífera L., e híbridos interespecíficos, em Juazeiro, Bahia, durante seis safras consecutivas (2018 a 2021). As progênies foram classificadas em três classes quanto à apirenia: completamente sem sementes (classe 1), presença de traço ou semenseparates macias (classe 2) e com sementes (classe 3). A massa fresca média das sementes, em cada classe, foi de 0mg, 2,3mg e 25,7mg, respectivamente, o que correspondeu a 40 genótipos (20%) na classe 1, 52 genótipos (26%) na classe 2 e 108 (54%) na classe 3. O cruzamento interespecífico ‘BRS Isis’ e ‘Marroo Seedless’ destacou-se por favorecer elevada frequência de indivíduos sem sementes na progênie (47,5%). As características associadas ao tamanho de baga (comprimento, diâmetro e massa) apresentaram correlações positivas e elevadas entre si. Os resultados obtidos fornecem subsídios importantes para o planejamento de cruzamentos, avaliação das progênies e seleção de híbridos visando ao desenvolvimento de novas cultivares de uvas de mesa.

Abstract ‘BRS Tainá’ is a new seedless table grape cultivar developed and recommended for the Submedium of São Francisco Valley, the main producing and exporting region of table grapes in Brazil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of rootstock on vigor, bud fertility, sucrose and total soluble carbohydrates content in leaves of ‘BRS Tainá’ vine cultivated in semi-arid environmental conditions in the Brazilian Northeast. The treatments were represented by eight rootstocks: ‘101-14 MgT’, ‘IAC 313’, ‘IAC 572’, ‘IAC 766’, ‘Paulsen 1103’, ‘Ramsey’, ‘SO4’ and ‘Teleki 5C’. The experimental design was in randomized blocks with four replications, in split plots, the production cycles were considered as plots, and eight rootstocks as subplots. The following variables were evaluated: pruning weight, stem diameter, number of lateral bunches, bud fertility, sucrose and total soluble carbohydrates content in leaves. The ‘BRS Tainá’ vine had moderate canopy vigor and 54% of bud fertility. The carbohydrate content and sucrose in the leaves did not differ among treatments during pruning. Therefore, it is possible that there is no effect of the rootstock on the initial vegetative growth of ‘BRS Tainá’ vines, which vigor and bud fertility remained stable in the initial production cycles.

Resumo ‘BRS Tainá’ é uma nova cultivar de uvas de mesa sem sementes desenvolvida e recomendada para o Vale do Submédio São Francisco, principal região produtora e exportadora de uvas finas no Brasil. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência do porta-enxerto sobre o vigor, a fertilidade de gemas e o conteúdo de sacarose e carboidratos solúveis totais nas folhas de videiras ‘BRS Tainá’, cultivadas em condições semiáridas do Nordeste brasileiro. Os tratamentos foram constituídos por oito porta-enxertos: ‘101-14 MgT’, ‘IAC 313’, ‘IAC 572’, ‘IAC 766’, ‘Paulsen 1103’, ‘Ramsey’, ‘SO4’ e ‘Teleki 5C’. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, em parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições, sendo os ciclos de produção considerados como parcelas, e os oito porta-enxertos, como subparcelas. As seguintes variáveis foram avaliadas: massa fresca de ramos e folhas, diâmetro de caule, número de saídas laterais, índice de fertilidade de gemas, conteúdo de sacarose e carboidrato nas folhas. A videira ‘BRS Tainá’ apresentou vigor da copa moderado e fertilidade de gemas em 54%. O conteúdo de carboidratos solúveis totais e de sacarose nas folhas não diferiu entre os porta-enxertos durante a poda de produção. Logo, é possível inferir que não houve influência do porta-enxerto no desenvolvimento vegetativo inicial de videiras ‘BRS Tainá’, visto que apresentam estabilidade no vigor e fertilidade de gemas nos primeiros ciclos de produção.

Abstract Colorectal Cancer (CRC) is the third most common type of cancer worldwide and ranks second in mortality. Screening programs for early detection and treatment have been implemented in several countries. Economic evaluations are an important tool to support decision-making about reimbursement and coverage decisions in health systems and, therefore, to support efficient resource allocation. The article aims to review the up-to-date evidence on economic evaluations of CRC screening strategies. MEDLINE, EMBASE, Web of Science, SCOPUS, SciELO, Lilacs, CRD databases, and lists of references were reviewed to identify relevant literature regarding full economic evaluations of CRC screening in asymptomatic average-risk individuals over 40 years old. Searches were conducted with no restriction to language, setting, or date. Qualitative syntheses described CRC screening strategies and comparators (baseline context), study designs, key parameter inputs and incremental cost-effectiveness ratios. Seventy-nine articles were included. Most of the studies were from high-income countries and a third-party payer perspective. Markov models were predominantly used, although microsimulation has been increasingly adopted in the last 15 years. The authors found 88 different screening strategies for CRC, which differed in the type of technique, the interval of screening, and the strategy, i.e., isolated or combined. The annual fecal immunochemical test was the most predominant screening strategy. All studies reported cost-effective results in their scenarios compared to no screening scenarios. One-quarter of the publications reported cost-saving results. It is still necessary to develop future economic evaluations in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), which account for the high burden of disease.
