The article is structured to show university teaching as a wide field of investigation, and to define the teaching practice as an object of study. In this way, the theoretical and methodological problem emerges as to what and how to observe the didactic dimension of the teaching practice, carrying out a discussion about General Didactics derived from the Theories of Learning and Specific Didactics founded on the epistemological specificity of each discipline. Faced with the difficulty of finding specific didactics for all disciplines that can be part of the formation of different professionals, which should be philosophically, epistemologically, theoretically and methodologically grounded, we propose to choose the General Constructivist Didactics as a theoretical and methodological alternative to fundament the investigation about the didactic aspect of the teaching practice. The article proceeds to a wide survey of the Positivist and Constructivist paradigms and of the didactics supported by each one of them, closing with a proposal for the elements and processes that characterize the General Constructivist Didactics.

El artículo se estructura señalando la docencia universitaria como un amplio campo de investigación y definiendo la práctica docente como objeto de estudio. De esta manera, emerge el problema teórico y metodológico de qué y cómo observar la dimensión didáctica en la práctica docente, frente a lo cual se hace una discusión en torno a la Didáctica General como derivada de las Teorías del Aprendizaje y las Didácticas Específicas fundamentadas en la especificidad epistemológica de cada disciplina. Frente a la dificultad de encontrar didácticas específicas de todas las disciplinas que pueden hacer parte de la formación de diferentes profesionales, las cuales estén argumentadas filosófica, epistemológica, teórica y metodológicamente, se propone optar la Didáctica General Constructivista como alternativa teórica y metodológica que fundamente la investigación sobre lo didáctico de la práctica docente. El artículo continúa con una revisión amplia sobre los paradigmas Positivista y Constructivista y las didácticas que desde cada uno se sustentan, para cerrar proponiendo los elementos y procesos que caracterizan la Didáctica General Constructivista.

The article takes up theoretical and methodological aspects concerning the competences and questions them to guide the development of the discussion and conclusions as follows: I) what theoretical elements allow us to understand the competences beyond the merely operational?, reaching set components: a) cognitive, b) metacognitive, c) context, d) reflexive, e) facts; II) what are the didactical-pedagogical foundations that permit the subject competence-based training?, considering alternatives models such as: a) Project-based work and b) learning through the research, and III) how to think a competence assessment consistent with the context?, in order to put into question the competences' standardization and its evaluation out of context, through massive tests, usually in writ en form.

El artículo retoma aspectos teóricos y metodológicos referentes a las competencias y los problematiza a partir del establecimiento de tres preguntas que orientan el desarrollo de la discusión y las conclusiones, así: I) ¿qué elementos teóricos permiten comprender la competencia en una dimensión más amplia que lo operativo?, llegando a establecer componentes como: a) cognitivo, b) metacognitivo, c) contextual, d) reflexivo, y e) fáctico; II) ¿qué fundamentos y/o modelos pedagógico-didácticos permiten formar al sujeto por competencias?, planteando alternativas como: a) trabajo por proyectos, y b) aprendizaje por investigación dirigida; y III) ¿cómo pensar una evaluación por competencias coherentes con los contextos?, llegando a cuestionarse la estandarización de las competencias y su evaluación fuera de los contextos, a través de pruebas masivas y por lo general en formato escrito.

L'article reprend les aspects théoriques et méthodologiques en rapport avec les compétences et les problématise à partir de l'établissement de trois questions qui orientent le développement de la discussion et les conclusions, de cete manière: I) quels éléments théoriques permet ent de comprendre la compétence en une dimension plus large que la seule dimension opérative?, conduisant à établir des composants comme: a) cognitif, b) métacognitif, c) contextuel, d) réflexif, et e) factuel; II) Quels fondements et/ ou modèles pédagogico-didactiques permetent de former le sujet par compétences?, instaurant des alternatives comme: a) travail par projets, et b) apprentissage par investigation dirigée; et III) comment penser une évaluation par compétences cohérentes avec le contexte?, arrivant à questionner la standardisation des compétences et son évaluation en-dehors des contextes, à travers des tests massifs et en général sous le format écrit.
