Este estudo procurou conhecer as atitudes frente à avaliação psicológica para condutores, considerando três grupos de indivíduos: técnicos, estudantes de Psicologia e pessoas que se submetem a esta avaliação para obtenção ou renovação da CNH (Carteira Nacional de Habilitação). Um total de 196 pessoas responderam uma Escala de Atitudes frente a Avaliação para Condutores, composta de 20 itens. A maioria dos participantes era do sexo feminino (68%), universitário (71%) e já possuía habilitação para conduzir (54%); sua média de idade foi de 28 anos. Observou-se que, embora os respondentes tenham opinado que a avaliação psicológica era eficaz, julgavam que esta seria dispensável no processo de exame para a obtenção da CNH. As implicações deste estudo foram discutidas, assim como foram sugeridas alternativas para promover esta área de avaliação em Psicologia do Trânsito.

This study aimed to know the attitudes towards the psychological assessment for drivers, considering three groups of subjects: technicians, Psychology students, and people who are taking the driving test in order to obtain the CNH (driving license) or to extend it. A total of 196 subjects have completed an Attitude Toward Drivers Assessment Scale, composed of 20 items. Most of them were female (68%), undergraduate students or who had already concluded it (71%), and owned driving license (54%). Their mean age was 28 years old. It was verified that, in spite of the fact that the subjects had a positive opinion about the efficacy of the psychological assessments, they judged it not essential to the examination process of obtaining driving license. The implications of this study were discussed, and also alternatives were suggested in order to promote the assessment area in Traffic Psychology.
