Abstract We examined here the diversity and distribution of Vitaceae species in Ceará state, Brazil, as part of the “Flora of Ceará Project: knowing to conserve”, analyzing the morphological characters of specimens collected in the field, those available in the ALCB, BHCB, EAC, CEN, EAFM, HCDAL, HST, HUEFS, HUVA, HVASF, IAN, IPA, K, MBM, MOSS, NY, P, R, UEC, and US herbaria or in the specialized literature. We include here an identification key, occurrence maps, morphological descriptions, and comments concerning their ecology. The main morphological features for species delimiting were leaf type and symmetry, trichome and tendril types, presence or absence of streaks on branches, stipule, flower bud and fruit shape. Eleven species of Vitaceae included within two genera were recorded in Ceará: Cissus albida, C. blanchetiana, C. campestris, C. erosa, C. gongylodes, C. subrhomboidea, C. sulcicaulis, C. tinctoria, C. verticillata, C. xerophila, and Clematicissus simsiana. The species were registered in 45 municipalities, with C. erosa and C. verticillata being widely distributed. Those species inhabit different phytoecological areas in Ceará, although preferentially growing in Stepic Savanna (Caatinga). Six species occur in nine legally protected conservation areas. Ceará state holds 40.74% of the registered species of the family found in northeastern Brazil.

Resumo Examinamos aqui a diversidade e distribuição de espécies de Vitaceae no estado do Ceará, Brasil, como parte do projeto “Flora do Ceará: conhecer para conservar”, analisando caracteres morfológicos de amostras obtidas em campo, em coleções depositadas em herbários (ALCB, BHCB, EAC, CEN, EAFM, HCDAL, HST, HUEFS, HUVA, HVASF, IAN, IPA, K, MBM, MOSS, NY, P, R, UEC, US) ou publicadas em literaturas especializadas. Chave de identificação, descrições morfológicas, comentários sobre a ecologia e mapas de ocorrência dos táxons foram incluídos. Os principais caracteres para o reconhecimento das espécies foram o tipo e simetria das folhas, tipos de tricomas e gavinhas, presença ou ausência de estrias nos ramos e formas da estípula, botão floral e fruto. No território cearense ocorrem 11 espécies de Vitaceae pertencentes a dois gêneros: Cissus albida, C. blanchetiana, C. campestris, C. erosa, C. gongylodes, C. subrhomboidea, C. sulcicaulis, C. tinctoria, C. verticillata, C. xerophila e Clematicissus simsiana. As espécies foram registradas em 45 municípios, sendo C. erosa e C. verticillata as que apresentaram distribuição mais ampla. As espécies habitam diferentes unidades fitoecológicas no Ceará, no entanto, crescem preferencialmente na Savana Estépica (Caatinga). Seis espécies ocorrem em nove diferentes Unidades de Conservação. O estado do Ceará detém 40,74% das espécies registradas da família no nordeste brasileiro.

Abstract Background Although the importance of food and nutrition actions is recognized, especially in the Family Health Strategy, there are few studies on the organization of nutritional care in the Unified Health System. Objective To describe and compare the organization of Nutritional Care-AN in Primary Health Care in two macroregions of the State of São Paulo, Brazil. Method This is a cross-sectional study conducted in 115 Family Health Strategy services. A structured instrument was used. Descriptive data analysis and Fisher's exact test were performed to verify associations between the variable 'region' and those of interest. Results 115 interviews were conducted with managers from 31 municipalities. There was a higher frequency of actions at RMBS, with statistically significant differences for the following variables: role of community health agent; individual assessment of food intake, vaccination campaigns, and group activities; measurement of body mass index in the gestational curve; breastfeeding support; guidelines on complementary feeding and multidisciplinary team care for overweight. Conclusion AN predominated in RMBS. However, in both regions, there are limits to be overcome, requiring the analysis of the quality of these actions to achieve completeness.

Resumo Introdução Ainda que a importância das ações relacionadas à alimentação e à nutrição sejam reconhecidas, especialmente para a Estratégia Saúde da Família, são escassos os estudos voltados à organização da atenção nutricional no Sistema Único de Saúde. Objetivo Descrever e comparar a organização da Atenção Nutricional (AN) na Atenção Primária à Saúde em duas macrorregiões do estado de São Paulo, Brasil. Método O presente estudo transversal contemplou 115 serviços da Estratégia Saúde da Família, utilizando um instrumento estruturado, realizando uma análise descritiva dos dados e aplicando o teste exato de Fisher para verificar as associações entre a variável “região” e as demais variáveis de interesse. Resultados Foram realizadas 115 entrevistas com os gestores de 31 municípios. Verificou-se uma frequência maior de ações na RMBS, com diferenças estatisticamente significantes para as seguintes variáveis: papel do agente comunitário de saúde; avaliação individual do consumo alimentar, campanhas de vacinação e atividades grupais; mensuração do Índice de Massa Corporal na curva gestacional; apoio ao aleitamento materno; orientações sobre alimentação complementar e atendimento de equipe multidisciplinar para sobrepeso. Conclusão Foi observada uma predominância da AN na RMBS. Entretanto, existem limites a serem superados em ambas as regiões, demandando uma análise da qualidade dessas ações para alcançar a integralidade.

RESUMO: Mudanças epigenéticas assumiram importância na patogênese do câncer a partir de pesquisas que mostraram que mudanças na expressão de proteínas associadas ao DNA podem afetar a expressão gênica e podem ser reversíveis após o tratamento. As alterações nas histonas têm sido estudadas em larga escala na medicina, particularmente no câncer de mama, e estudos recentes mostram essa relação também na medicina veterinária. A desacetilação das histonas está relacionada à progressão tumoral e a superexpressão de histonas desacetilases (HDACs) é responsável por essas alterações. O silenciamento de genes supressores de tumor relacionados a alterações epigenéticas favorece a progressão tumoral, entretanto, o uso de inibidores de HDAC é eficaz em reverter as alterações nas histonas e tem efeitos anticâncer. Uma visão da medicina comparada entre humanos e cães em relação às alterações epigenéticas, será o objetivo deste trabalho, mostrando os mecanismos fisiológicos e a relação entre o câncer e a epigenética, especificamente com a acetilação e desacetilação de histonas. Essa visão contribuirá para um melhor entendimento da epigenética e do câncer, bem como a relação com as novas terapias moleculares-alvo na medicina veterinária e a importância dos estudos neste contexto. ABSTRACT: Epigenetic modifications have become highly important in the study of cancer pathogenesis due to research showing that changes in the expression of DNA-associated proteins can affect gene expression but may be reversible after treatment. The changing histones are being studied on a large scale in medicine while recent studies also show this relationship in veterinary medicine. Histone deacetylation is related to tumor progression and overexpression of histone deacetylases (HDACs) is responsible for these changes. The silencing of tumor suppressor genes related to epigenetic changes favors tumor progression; however, using HDAC inhibitors has been shown to effectively reverse these histone changes while having anticancer effects. This research provided an overview of comparative medicine between humans and dogs concerning epigenetic changes while showing the physiological mechanisms and the relationship between cancer and epigenetics, specifically regarding histone acetylation and deacetylation. This overview should contribute to a better understanding of epigenetics and cancer and their relationship with new target-molecular therapies in veterinary medicine and the importance of such studies. Resumo Samambaias são pouco relatadas como hospedeiras de galhas, e suas interações e relações multitroficas são comumente desconhecidas pela ciência. Atualmente, nos concentramos em Niphidium crassifolium (Polypodiaceae) que abriga galhas globoides nas folhas. As galhas em N. crassifolium são relatadas apenas nas regiões sul e sudeste do Brasil, onde também há uma discussão sobre a identidade do indutor da galha: seria um Cecidomyiidae-Diptera ou um Coccidae-Hemiptera? Esses dois grupos de insetos possuem características distintas e, consequentemente, suas galhas devem apresentar características anatômicas e histoquímicas distintas. Tais características podem ser utilizadas como ferramentas funcionais para corroborar a identificação dos táxons do galhador associado e avaliar sua distribuição geográfica. Nosso estudo teve como objetivo ampliar a distribuição conhecida de N. crassifolium e suas interações com base em inventário de artigos científicos e dados de herbário, e também testar a utilidade de características anatômicas e histoquímicas para propor a identidade galhador. A distribuição geográfica das galhas de N. crassifolium foi ampliada para cinco países da América do Sul: Bolívia, Guiana Francesa, Guiana, Peru e Brasil. Abstract Ferns have been poorly reported as hosts of gall inducers, and their multitrophic interactions and relationships are practically unknown to science. We focused on Niphidium crassifolium (Polypodiaceae) that hosts globoid leaf galls. The galls on N. crassifolium have only reported for the South and Southeast regions of Brazil, with a discussion regarding the identity of the gall inducer: is it a Cecidomyiidae-Diptera or to Coccidae-Hemiptera? These two insect groups have distinct characteristics and consequently their galls must have distinct anatomical and histochemical traits. Such traits may work out as functional tools to be used to confirm the taxa of the associated galling herbivore and to evaluate their geographic distribution. Our study aimed to expand the known distribution of N. crassifolium and its interactions based on an inventory of scientific articles and on herbarium data, and also to test the usefulness of anatomical and histochemical traits for proposing the identity of the gall inducer. The geographic distribution of N. crassifolium galls involves five South American countries, i.e., Bolivia, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, and Brazil. RESUMO Muitos alimentos interagem com medicamentos e podem causar alterações nos efeitos farmacológicos do agente terapêutico coadministrado. A enzima CYP3A4, que pertence ao complexo enzimático do citocromo P450, é responsável pelo metabolismo da maioria dos medicamentos atualmente no mercado e está envolvida em muitas interações medicamentosas. Assim, a interação dessa enzima com sucos de algumas frutas, como a toranja, pode afetar a farmacocinética de vários medicamentos. No entanto, frutas nativas da região amazônica ainda não foram alvo desse tipo de pesquisa. Determinamos polifenóis e flavonoides totais dos frutos amazônicos de açaí (Euterpe precatoria), buriti (Mauritia flexuosa), camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia), cubiu (Solanum sessiliflorum), cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum), jenipapo (Genipa americana) e taperebá (Spondias mombin) e avaliamos os efeitos de cada suco de fruta sobre a atividade de CYP3A4, utilizando o suco de carambola (Averrhoa carambola) como controle positivo. O suco de açaí apresentou o maior teor de polifenóis totais e flavonóides (102,6 ± 7,2 µg equivalente de ácido gálico (GAE) por mL e 7,2 ± 0,6 µg equivalente de quercetina (QE) por mL, respectivamente). Todos os sucos foram capazes de inibir a atividade de CYP3A4. Não houve atividade residual da enzima metabolizadora de fármacos para os sucos de açaí, buriti, cubiu, camu-camu e taperebá, enquanto para cupuaçu, jenipapo e o controle positivo, a atividade residual foi de 44,3, 54,3 e 20,2%, respectivamente. Estudos adicionais devem identificar o(s) fitocomposto(s) responsável(is) por esta atividade de inibição, para esclarecer os mecanismos envolvidos neste fenômeno.

ABSTRACT Many foods interact with drugs and may cause changes in the pharmacological effects of the co-administered therapeutic agent. The enzyme CYP3A4, which belongs to the cytochrome P450 enzyme complex, is responsible for the metabolism of most drugs currently on the market and is involved in many drug interactions. Hence, the interaction of this enzyme with juices of some fruits, such as grapefruit, can affect the pharmacokinetics of various drugs. However, native fruits from the Amazon region have not yet been the target of this type of research. We determined total polyphenols and flavonoids of the Amazonian fruits açaí (Euterpe precatoria), buriti (Mauritia flexuosa), camu-camu (Myrciaria dubia), cubiu (Solanum sessiliflorum), cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum), jenipapo (Genipa americana), and taperebá (Spondias mombin) and evaluated the effects of each fruit juice on CYP3A4 activity, using the star fruit (Averrhoa carambola) juice as positive control. Açaí juice presented the highest content of total polyphenols and flavonoids (102.6 ± 7.2 µg gallic acid equivalent (GAE) per mL and 7.2 ± 0.6 µg quercetin equivalent (QE) per mL, respectively). All juices were able to inhibit the activity of CYP3A4. There was no residual activity of the drug-metabolizing enzyme for açai, buriti, cubiu, camu-camu, and taperebá juice, while for cupuaçu, jenipapo and the positive control, the residual activity was 44.3, 54.3 and 20.2%, respectively. Additional studies should identify the phytocompound(s) responsible for this inhibition activity, to clarify the mechanisms involved in this phenomenon.

Abstract Aim: This study evaluated the effects of 10 weeks of combined exercise training on the salivary oxidative profile of hypertensive and normotensive postmenopausal women. Methods: Twenty-six non-obese postmenopausal women were divided into two groups: the hypertensive group (HT; n = 13; 58.9 ± 3.9 years; and BMI of 27.7 ± 4.6 kg/m2) or the normotensive group (NT; n = 13; 52.7 ± 5.2 years; and BMI of 26.9 ± 2.9 kg/m2). They performed 30 sessions of combined exercises over 10 weeks: 45 min per session, three times a week. Resting saliva samples were collected after an overnight fast to evaluate salivary nitrite levels and oxidative stress markers before and after training. Results: Two-way ANOVA showed that there was no difference in the responses over time between the hypertensive and normotensive groups in catalase, superoxide dismutase salivary activity, total antioxidant capacity, or lipid peroxidation. However, superoxide dismutase activity (δHT -0.87 ± 14.53 SOD/mg protein; δNT: 7.13 ± 9.39 SOD/mg protein; p < 0.01) and nitrite levels (δHT 10.32 ± 60.83 mM; δNT 101.92 ± 149.57 mM; p = 0.03) were higher overall in the hypertensive group compared to the normotensive group. Moreover, salivary nitrite levels increased over time (p = 0.04) in both groups. Conclusion: 10 weeks of combined exercise training did not change salivary oxidative stress markers in either normotensive or hypertensive postmenopausal women, although, after exercise training, nitrite levels increased in both groups, even with higher baseline salivary nitrite levels in hypertensive women. Thus, recurrent exercise seems to be a safe strategy after menopause from the standpoint of oxidative stress, regardless of the presence of hypertension.

Resumen Los cambios en el uso del suelo provocan un mosaico de áreas en el paisaje con diferentes usos y coberturas. Esta condición compromete las reservas de nutrientes del suelo, especialmente el fósforo (P). En ese sentido, este estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar las concentraciones de fósforo extraíble y total en 04 clases de suelo (Argisol Amarillo, Neosol Litólico, Entisol y Planosol), 04 usos y coberturas del suelo (Caatinga Nativa Abierta, Caatinga Nativa Densa, Agricultura y Pastos), en 04 profundidades (0-10, 10-20, 20-30 y 30-40 cm). Para determinar el P extraíble se utilizó el Mehlich 1 y la lectura colorimétrica. El fósforo total se determinó por digestión de azufre y colorimetría. Los resultados de las concentraciones de P extraíble y total fueron mayores para las clases Argisol y Planosol. Se observó que hubo reducciones en las concentraciones de P extraíble entre las capas del suelo a medida que se profundizaba el perfil del suelo. Las profundidades entre 0 y 20 cm generalmente mostraron concentraciones más altas de fósforo extraíble y total en la agricultura. Entre las cuatro clases de suelo estudiadas, los valores promedio más altos de existencias de P extraíble y total se presentaron en los Neosoles y Planosoles Litólicos, principalmente debido al uso agrícola. La deficiencia de P ha sido un factor limitante para la productividad agrícola y, especialmente en la región de Agreste de Pernambuco, donde las principales clases de suelo con cobertura natural tienen niveles bajos de P disponible y total.

Abstract Changes in land use cause a mosaic of areas in the landscape with different uses and coverage. This condition compromises soil nutrient stocks, especially phosphorus (P). In this sense, this study aimed to determine the concentrations of extractable and total phosphorus in 04 soil classes (Yellow Argisol, Litholic Neosol, Entisol and Planosol), 04 uses and covers (Open Native Caatinga, Dense Native Caatinga, Agriculture and Pasture) of the soil, in 04 depths (0-10, 10-20, 20-30 and 30-40 cm). To determine the extractable P, the Mehlich 1 and colorimetric reading were used. Total phosphorus was determined by sulfur digestion and colorimetry. The results of extractable and total P concentrations were higher for the Argisol and Planosol classes. It was observed that there were reductions in extractable P concentrations between the soil layers as the soil profile deepened. Depths between 0-20 cm generally showed higher concentrations of extractable and total phosphorus in agriculture. Among the four soil classes studied, the highest average values of extractable and total P stocks occurred in Litholic Neosols and Planosols, mainly due to agricultural use. P deficiency has been a limiting factor to agricultural productivity and, especially in the Agreste region of Pernambuco, where the main soil classes under natural cover have low levels of available and total P.

RESUMO A caracterização geoquímica de águas salinas em reservatórios localizados em regiões semiáridas é uma questão importante a ser abordada, pois permite compreender a deterioração da qualidade da água causada pela evaporação. Neste estudo, o diagrama de Gibbs, razões iônicas e modelagem geoquímica foram empregados para decifrar os processos geoquímicos que afetam a evolução química da água de três reservatórios salinos localizados no semiárido do estado de Sergipe, Nordeste do Brasil. Os principais processos geoquímicos envolvidos na composição química da água dos reservatórios foram a dissolução do sal marinho, intemperismo dos silicatos, troca iônica, com uma contribuição limitada da dissolução de carbonatos. A modelagem geoquímica confirmou que a evaporação-cristalização é o principal mecanismo que controla a composição química da água, levando ao aumento das concentrações de Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+ e Cl-, e redução do HCO3- pela precipitação de calcita e dolomita. Além disso, os modelos simulados reproduziram a tendência observada nos dados hidroquímicos reais e indicaram excelente concordância entre as concentrações iônicas simuladas e as concentrações iônicas reais, para a maioria dos íons maiores. O maior desvio foi observado para o HCO3-, cujas concentrações reais foram muito mais elevadas que as previstas pela modelagem e isso tem sido atribuído a restrições cinéticas na precipitação da calcita.

ABSTRACT The geochemical characterization of saline water in reservoirs located in semi-arid regions is an important issue to be addressed, as it allows us to understand the deterioration of water quality caused by evaporation. In this study, the Gibbs diagram, ionic ratios and geochemical modeling were employed to decipher the geochemical processes that affect the chemical water evolution of three saline reservoirs located in the semi-arid region of Sergipe state, Northeastern Brazil. The reservoirs geochemical processes mainly include sea salt dissolution, silicate weathering, ion exchange, with a limited contribution from the dissolution of carbonates. Geochemical modeling confirmed that evaporation-crystallization is the main mechanism that controls the chemical composition of water, leading to increased concentrations of Na+, Mg2+, Ca2+ and Cl-, and reduction of HCO3- by precipitation of calcite and dolomite. Furthermore, the simulated models reproduced the trend observed in the real hydrochemical data and indicated excellent agreement between the simulated ion concentrations and the real ion concentrations for most of the larger ions. The highest deviation was observed for HCO3 whose actual concentrations were much higher than those predicted by the modeling, attributed to kinetic restrictions concerning calcite precipitation.

Abstract The achachairu (Garcinia humilis (Vahl) C.D. Adams) is a Bolivian fruit species that adapts well to tropical and sub-tropical climates and may feasibly be disseminated in other parts of the world. Data from the literature has revealed that both the plant and the fruit exhibited promising compounds for both nutritional and pharmacological purposes. This work aimed to review available publications involving the achachairu (G. humilis) through a bibliometric analysis using data from the Web of Science© (WOS) database. For greater precision and completeness in the research, the filters used included both the scientific nomenclature, and the popular name of the fruit, G. humilis and achachairu, respectively. The data-gathering stage yielded only 29 works containing the terms used in the search. Comprising 25 publications, Brazil was the country having the most records in the database, possibly because its climate is favorable for achachairu cultivation. Among the main research focus areas were attributes related to its chemical structure and pharmacological properties, particularly Guttiferone A, the compound responsible for the gastroprotective, antinociceptive and antiproliferative properties of its fruit, which occurs primarily in its seed. The peel also exhibited a bioactive and antioxidant composition. Thus, these two parts of the fruit, which are considered underutilized, due to the exclusive consumption of the fruit pulp, may have the potential for other purposes. Finally, considering the scarce scientific data regarding this matrix, which has a diversity of positive characteristics for the pharmacological and food industries, this bibliometric analysis revealed an opportunity for further research.

Resumo O achachairu (Garcinia humilis) é uma espécie frutífera boliviana, que apresenta boa adaptação em climas tropicais e subtropicais, podendo, portanto, ser cultivada em diferentes partes do mundo. Os dados da literatura revelam que tanto a planta, em especial o fruto, apresentam compostos promissores para fins nutricionais e farmacológicos. Diante do exposto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar as publicações disponíveis envolvendo o achachairu (Garcinia humilis), por meio de uma análise bibliométrica, utilizando informações da base de dados Web of Science© (WOS). Para uma maior precisão e abrangência na pesquisa, os filtros utilizados incluíram a nomenclatura científica e o nome popular da fruta, Garcinia humilis e achachairu, respectivamente. A etapa de coleta de dados resultou em apenas 29 trabalhos contendo os termos utilizados na busca. Com 25 publicações, o Brasil liderou os registros encontrados, possivelmente devido ao clima favorável do país para o cultivo do achachairu. Entre os principais focos de pesquisa, foram identificados atributos relacionados à estrutura química e às propriedades farmacológicas do fruto, em especial a Gutiferona A, um composto responsável por características gastroprotetoras, antinociceptivas e antiproliferativas, cuja ocorrência é principalmente na semente. A casca do fruto exibiu uma composição bioativa e antioxidante. Assim, verificou-se que essas duas partes do fruto, consideradas subutilizadas devido ao consumo exclusivo da polpa do fruto, podem ter potencial para outras finalidades. Por fim, diante dos escassos dados científicos sobre essa matriz, que possui uma diversidade de características positivas para as indústrias farmacêutica e alimentícia, a análise bibliométrica revelou uma oportunidade para novas pesquisas.

RESUMO Introdução: O câncer de mama é a segunda neoplasia maligna mais comum em mulheres no Brasil. O grande desafio para os profissionais de saúde é conciliar a fila de espera tanto para as cirurgias oncológicas quanto para as reconstrutivas. O objetivo é avaliar o cenário dos últimos 5 anos das cirurgias de câncer de mama em comparação ao número de cirurgias reconstrutivas realizadas no mesmo período. Métodos: Trata-se de um estudo descritivo com abordagem transversal e retrospectiva sobre mastectomias, segmentectomias e reconstruções mamárias realizadas no SUS, entre os anos de 2015 e 2020. Os dados foram coletados no serviço de transferência de dados do SUS, segundo os procedimentos e códigos escolhidos e tabulados no software Microsoft Excel 365. Resultados: Foram realizadas 204.569 cirurgias de câncer de mama, sendo 57% segmentectomias/quadrantectomias e 43% mastectomias. No mesmo período, foram realizadas 17.927 cirurgias plásticas reconstrutivas de mama com implantes após mastectomia, sendo que apenas 20,52% das mulheres mastectomizadas foram submetidas à reconstrução imediata com implantes. Conclusão: O número de cirurgias reconstrutivas de mama no Brasil está bem abaixo do ideal, deixando a maioria das mulheres mastectomizadas com sequelas por um longo período de tempo.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Breast cancer is the second most common malignant neoplasm in women in Brazil. A great challenge for health professionals and to reconcile the waiting line for both oncological and reconstructive surgeries. The objective is to evaluate the last 5 years of breast cancer surgeries compared to the number of reconstructive surgeries performed in the same period. Methods: This is a descriptive study with a transversal and retrospective approach on mastectomies, segmentectomies and breast reconstructions performed at SUS, between the years 2015 and 2020. According to the procedures and codes chosen and tabulated in the Microsoft Excel 365 software, the data were collected in the SUS data transfer service. Results: 204,569 breast cancer surgeries were performed, with 57% segmentectomies/quadrantectomies and 43% mastectomies. In the same period, 17,927 reconstructive plastic breast surgeries were performed with implants after mastectomy, with only 20.52% of mastectomized women undergoing immediate reconstruction with implants. Conclusion: The number of reconstructive breast surgeries in Brazil is below the ideal level, leaving most women mastectomized with sequelae for a long time.

resumo – Este artigo é uma atualização da revisão sistemática sobre Active Play publicada em 2018 por Mendes et al. Esta revisão sistemática incluiu estudos publicados entre 2018 até 2019. A busca de potenciais artigos foi realizada nas seguintes bases de dados eletrônicas: Pubmed / Medline, Web of Science, Bireme, Scielo e Scopus. Inicialmente, 471 artigos atenderam aos critérios de elegibilidade. Porém, após análise aprofundada, apenas dois estudos permaneceram e foram incluídos na presente revisão. Destes artigos, apenas um apresentou informações individuais sobre a atividade física entre adolescentes de 12 a 17 anos de idade de Curitiba-PR e revelou que 77,2% deles eram fisicamente ativos no tempo livre. O outro estudo foi sobre as preferências por atividades de lazer entre adolescentes de Florianópolis-SC avaliados nos anos de 2001 e 2011. Este apresentou redução significativa na preferência pela prática de atividades físicas, enquanto o contrário foi observado para atividades sedentárias, como assistir TV, jogar videogame e usar o computador. Esses resultados, juntamente com as inconsistências nos pontos de corte do domínio active play entre os países envolvidos na Matriz Global 3.0, deixaram claro a necessidade de uma definição padrão e de uma ferramenta adequada para medi-la.

abstract – This paper is an update of the systematic review on Active Play published in 2018 by Mendes et al. This systematic review included studies published between 2018 and 2019. The search for potential articles was performed on the following electronic databases: Pubmed/Medline, Web of Science, Bireme, Scielo and Scopus. Initially, 471 papers met the eligibility criteria. However, after deeply analyzed, only two studies remained and were included in the present review. From these articles only one presented individual information on play activity among adolescents age (12-17 years) from Curitiba-PR and it reveals that 77,2% of them were physically active in their free time. The other study included was about the preferences for leisure activities among adolescents from Florianopolis-SC participants in two cross sectional studies in 2001 and 2011. It showed a significant reduction in the preferences for practicing physical activities, while the opposite occurs with sedentary activities like watching TV, playing video games, and using computers. These results along with the inconsistencies in benchmarks of the domain active play among countries involved in the Global Matrix 3.0 made clear the necessity of a standard definition and a proper tool to measure it.

RESUMO Os processos geoquímicos que potencialmente controlam as características químicas das águas de três reservatórios, situados no estado de Sergipe, Nordeste do Brasil, foram avaliados usando o diagrama de Gibbs, análise de correlação, razões iônicas e modelagem geoquímica. Os resultados da modelagem geoquímica inversa, aplicada entre duas amostras de água de cada reservatório, foram concordantes com as observações da análise de correlação e razões iônicas, que indicaram a dissolução do sal marinho, o intemperismo dos silicatos e em menor proporção a dissolução dos carbonatos, como os principais processos geoquímicos responsáveis pelas características químicas das águas dos três reservatórios, inclusive confirmaram a importância da troca iônica para os reservatórios Macela e Ribeirópolis. Os resultados sugerem, portanto, que o crescente processo de salinização dos reservatórios é controlado principalmente pela interação água – rocha, podendo ter também contribuição da evaporação e de aportes antropogênicos.

ABSTRACT The geochemical processes that potentially control the chemical characteristics of the waters of three reservoirs located in the state of Sergipe, Northeastern Brazil, were evaluated using the Gibbs diagram, correlation analysis, ionic ratios and geochemical modeling. The results of the reverse geochemical modeling applied between two water samples from each reservoir were in agreement with the observations of the correlation analysis and ionic ratios, which indicated sea salt dissolution, silicate weathering and, to a lesser extent, carbonate dissolution, as the main geochemical processes responsible for the chemical characteristics of the waters of the three reservoirs, also confirming the importance of ion exchange for the Macela and Ribeirópolis reservoirs. These findings therefore suggest that the growing salinization process of the reservoirs is mainly controlled by water-rock interactions and may also be influenced by contributions from evaporation and anthropogenic inputs.

Resumo Objetivo: Descrever as características clínicas de crianças e adolescentes internados em unidade de terapia intensiva com COVID-19 confirmada. Método: Estudo prospectivo, multicêntrico, observacional, em 19 unidades de terapia intensiva pediátrica. Foram incluídos pacientes entre um mês e 19 anos, admitidos consecutivamente (março a maio de 2020). As características demográficas, clínico-epidemiológicas, o tratamento e os resultados foram coletados. Os subgrupos foram comparados de acordo com as comorbidades, idade < 1 ano e necessidade de ventilação mecânica invasiva. Um modelo de regressão logística multivariável foi utilizado para preditores de gravidade. Resultados: Setenta e nove pacientes foram incluídos (10 com síndrome inflamatória multi-ssistêmica). Mediana de idade, quatro anos; 54% eram do sexo masculino (síndrome inflamatória multissistêmica, 80%); 41% tinham comorbidades (síndrome inflamatória multissistêmica, 20%). Febre (76%), tosse (51%) e taquipneia (50%) foram comuns nos dois grupos. Sintomas graves egastrointestinais e marcadores inflamatórios mais elevados foram mais frequentes na presença de síndrome inflamatória multissistêmica. Infiltrados intersticiais pulmonares foram comuns em ambos os grupos, mas o derrame pleural foi mais prevalente no grupo com síndrome inflamatória multissistêmica (43% vs. 14%). A ventilação mecânica invasiva foi utilizada em 18% (mediana 7,5 dias); antibióticos, oseltamivir e corticosteroides foram utilizados em 76%, 43% e 23%, respectivamente, mas não a hidroxicloroquina. A mediana do tempo de permanência na unidade de terapia intensiva pediátrica foi de 5 dias; duas mortes ocorreram (3%) no grupo não- síndrome inflamatória multissistêmica. Os pacientes com comorbidades eram mais velhos, e as comorbidades foram independentemente associadas à necessidade de ventilação mecânica invasiva(OR 5,5; IC95%, 1,43-21,12; P 0,01). Conclusões: Nas unidades de terapia intensiva pediátrica brasileiras, a COVID-19 apresentou baixa mortalidade, a idade inferior a um ano não foi associada a um pior prognóstico, os pacientes com síndrome inflamatória multissistêmica apresentaram sintomas mais graves, biomarcadores inflamatórios mais elevados e uma grande predominância no sexo masculino, mas apenas a presença de comorbidades e doenças crônicas foi um preditor independente de gravidade.

Abstract Objective: To describe the clinical characteristics of children and adolescents admitted to intensive care with confirmed COVID-19. Method: Prospective, multicenter, observational study, in 19 pediatric intensive care units. Patients aged 1 month to 19 years admitted consecutively (March-May 2020) were included. Demographic, clinical-epidemiological features, treatment, and outcomes were collected. Subgroups were compared according to comorbidities, age < 1 year, and need for invasive mechanical ventilation. A multivariable logistic regression model was used for predictors of severity. Results: Seventy-nine patients were included (ten with multisystemic inflammatory syndrome). Median age 4 years; 54% male (multisystemic inflammatory syndrome, 80%); 41% had comorbidities (multisystemic inflammatory syndrome, 20%). Fever (76%), cough (51%), and tachypnea (50%) were common in both groups. Severe symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms, and higher inflammatory markers were more frequent in multisystemic inflammatory syndrome. Interstitial lung infiltrates were common in both groups, but pleural effusion was more prevalent in the multisystemic inflammatory syndrome group (43% vs. 14%). Invasive mechanical ventilation was used in 18% (median 7.5 days); antibiotics, oseltamivir, and corticosteroids were used in 76%, 43%, and 23%, respectively, but not hydroxychloroquine. The median pediatric intensive care unit length-of-stay was five days; there were two deaths (3%) in the non- multisystemic inflammatory syndrome group. Patients with comorbidities were older and comorbidities were independently associated with the need for invasive mechanical ventilation (OR 5.5; 95% CI, 1.43-21.12; p = 0.01). Conclusions: In Brazilian pediatric intensive care units, COVID-19 had low mortality, age less than 1 year was not associated with a worse prognosis, and patients with multisystemic inflammatory syndrome had more severe symptoms, higher inflammatory biomarkers, and a greater predominance of males, but only comorbidities and chronic diseases were independent predictors of severity.

RESUMO JUSTIFICATIVA E OBJETIVOS: A síndrome de fibromialgia está ligada a um processo de dor e perda da qualidade de vida, o método Pilates pode ser uma forma de exercício físico que atenua as dores. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste estudo foi investigar se intervenções com o método Pilates pode propiciar melhoras na dor e qualidade de vida de pessoas com síndrome da fibromialgia. CONTEÚDO: Trata-se uma revisão integrativa nas bases de dados, com busca por artigos originais publicados até novembro de 2019. Buscou-se relatar os principais resultados para dor e qualidade de vida das pessoas com síndrome da fibromialgia que participaram de intervenções com Pilates, a prescrição do método, as variáveis e os instrumentos utilizados nas intervenções para melhor compreensão do profissional de educação física que venha a intervir com o método Pilates em pessoas com síndrome da fibromialgia. Seguindo os critérios de inclusão, 5 estudos foram selecionados. Os resultados encontrados apontaram melhoras na qualidade de vida e diminuição da dor. CONCLUSÃO: Observou-se que o método Pilates pode ser uma intervenção interessante para indivíduos com síndrome de fibromialgia pela sua segurança e efeitos terapêuticos nas adversidades da fibromialgia já com 4 semanas de treinamento. Ainda assim, é importante destacar a importância da continuidade do treinamento para obtenção dos seus efeitos benéficos para dor e qualidade de vida dos indivíduos.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Fibromyalgia syndrome is linked to a process of pain and loss of quality of life. The Pilates Method can be a form of physical exercise that alleviates pain. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate whether interventions with the Pilates method can provide improvements in pain and quality of life for people with fibromyalgia syndrome. CONTENTS: A database integrative review, searching for original articles published until November 2019. This review reports the main results for pain and quality of life for people with fibromyalgia syndrome who participated in Pilates interventions, as well as the method’s prescription, the variables and the instruments used in the interventions to better understand the physical education professional who will intervene with the Pilates method in people with fibromyalgia syndrome. Following the inclusion criteria, 5 studies were selected. The results found improved quality of life and decreased pain. CONCLUSION: It was found that the Pilates method may be an interesting intervention for individuals with fibromyalgia syndrome, because of its safety and therapeutic effects on the adversities of fibromyalgia already within 4 weeks of training. Still, it’s important to highlight the importance of continuing training to obtain its beneficial effects on pain and quality of life of individuals.
