ABSTRACT Objectives: to analyze the work of nurses portrayed in the journalistic media and its impact on the construction of professional nursing identity. Methods: this is qualitative, retrospective, descriptive and documentary research, with 51 reports from Folha de São Paulo. Time frame from March to December 2020. Thematic Content Analysis carried out from Claude Dubar’s theoretical perspective. Organization and coding of data performed with the help of ATLAS.ti®. Results: three categories emerged: Working conditions in the pandemic - a problem that worsened; Impacts of the pandemic on daily work; Feelings generated by the pandemic. Conclusions: despite adversities, such as the precariousness of health institutions, inadequate working conditions for nurses, lack of basic items of individual protection, negative feelings and hopelessness, these professionals used their knowledge, skills and innovations in the act of caring, which contributed to reconstructing their professional identity.

RESUMEN Objetivos: analizar el trabajo de los enfermeros retratados en los medios periodísticos y su impacto en la construcción de la identidad profesional de enfermería. Métodos: investigación cualitativa, retrospectiva, descriptiva y documental, con 51 informes de Folha de São Paulo. Periodo de tiempo de marzo a diciembre de 2020. El Análisis de Contenido Temático se realizó desde la perspectiva teórica de Claude Dubar. La organización y codificación de los datos se realizó con la ayuda del software ATLAS.ti®. Resultados: surgieron tres categorías: Condiciones de trabajo en la pandemia - un problema que se agravó; Impactos de la pandemia en el trabajo diario; Sentimientos generados por la pandemia. Conclusiones: a pesar de las adversidades, como la precariedad de las instituciones de salud, condiciones de trabajo inadecuadas para las enfermeras, falta de elementos básicos de protección individual, sentimientos negativos y desesperanza, estos profesionales utilizaron sus conocimientos, habilidades e innovaciones en el acto de cuidar, lo que contribuyó a la reconstrucción de su identidad profesional.

RESUMO Objetivos: analisar o trabalho das enfermeiras retratado na mídia jornalística e seu impacto na construção da identidade profissional da enfermagem. Métodos: pesquisa qualitativa, retrospectiva, descritiva e documental, com 51 reportagens da Folha de São Paulo. Recorte temporal de março a dezembro de 2020. Análise de Conteúdo Temática foi realizada sob a perspectiva teórica de Claude Dubar. Organização e codificação dos dados foram realizados com o auxílio do software ATLAS.ti®. Resultados: emergiram três categorias: Condições de trabalho na pandemia - um problema que se agravou; Impactos da pandemia no cotidiano de trabalho; Sentimentos gerados pela pandemia. Conclusões: apesar de adversidades, como precariedade das instituições de saúde, condições inadequadas de trabalho das enfermeiras, falta de itens básicos de proteção individual, dos sentimentos negativos e desesperança, essas profissionais utilizaram seus conhecimentos, habilidades e inovações no ato de cuidar, o que contribuiu para a reconstrução de sua identidade profissional.

Abstract Background Cardiovascular complications of COVID-19 are important aspects of the disease’s pathogenesis and prognosis. Evidence on the prognostic role of troponin and myocardial injury in Latin American hospitalized COVID-19 patients is still scarce. Objectives To evaluate myocardial injury as independent predictor of in-hospital mortality and invasive mechanical ventilation support in hospitalized patients, from the Brazilian COVID-19 Registry. Methods This cohort study is a substudy of the Brazilian COVID-19 Registry, conducted in 31 Brazilian hospitals of 17 cities, March-September 2020. Primary outcomes included in-hospital mortality and invasive mechanical ventilation support. Models for the primary outcomes were estimated by Poisson regression with robust variance, with statistical significance of p<0.05. Results Of 2,925 patients (median age of 60 years [48-71], 57.1% men), 27.3% presented myocardial injury. The proportion of patients with comorbidities was higher among patients with cardiac injury (median 2 [1-2] vs. 1 [0-2]). Patients with myocardial injury had higher median levels of brain natriuretic peptide, lactate dehydrogenase, creatine phosphokinase, N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide, and C-reactive protein than patients without myocardial injury. As independent predictors, C-reactive protein and platelet counts were related to the risk of death, and neutrophils and platelet counts were related to the risk of invasive mechanical ventilation support. Patients with high troponin levels presented a higher risk of death (RR 2.03, 95% CI 1.60-2.58) and invasive mechanical ventilation support (RR 1.87, 95% CI 1.57-2.23), when compared to those with normal troponin levels. Conclusion Cardiac injury was an independent predictor of in-hospital mortality and the need for invasive mechanical ventilation support in hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

Resumo Fundamento As complicações cardiovasculares da COVID-19 são aspectos importantes da patogênese e do prognóstico da doença. Evidências do papel prognóstico da troponina e da lesão miocárdica em pacientes hospitalizados com COVID-19 na América Latina são ainda escassos. Objetivos Avaliar a lesão miocárdica como preditor independente de mortalidade hospitalar e suporte ventilatório mecânico em pacientes hospitalizados, do registro brasileiro de COVID-19. Métodos Este estudo coorte é um subestudo do registro brasileiro de COVID-19, conduzido em 31 hospitais brasileiros de 17 cidades, de março a setembro de 2020. Os desfechos primários incluíram mortalidade hospitalar e suporte ventilatório mecânico invasivo. Os modelos para os desfechos primários foram estimados por regressão de Poisson com variância robusta, com significância estatística de p<0,05. Resultados Dos 2925 pacientes [idade mediana de 60 anos (48-71), 57,1%], 27,3% apresentaram lesão miocárdica. A proporção de pacientes com comorbidades foi maior nos pacientes com lesão miocárdica [mediana 2 (1-2) vs. 1 (0-20)]. Os pacientes com lesão miocárdica apresentaram maiores valores medianos de peptídeo natriurético cerebral, lactato desidrogenase, creatina fosfoquinase, N-terminal do pró-peptídeo natriurético tipo B e proteína C reativa em comparação a pacientes sem lesão miocárdica. Como fatores independentes, proteína C reativa e contagem de plaquetas foram relacionados com o risco de morte, e neutrófilos e contagem de plaquetas foram relacionados ao risco de suporte ventilatório mecânico invasivo. Os pacientes com níveis elevados de troponina apresentaram um maior risco de morte (RR 2,03, IC95% 1,60-2,58) e suporte ventilatório mecânico (RR 1,87;IC95% 1,57-2,23), em comparação àqueles com níveis de troponina normais. Conclusão Lesão cardíaca foi um preditor independente de mortalidade hospitalar e necessidade de suporte ventilatório mecânico em pacientes hospitalizados com COVID-19.

Abstract This integrative review investigates the factors that may promote or harm the quality of life of oncology professionals, according to compassion fatigue and satisfaction criteria. Bibliographic research was conducted on the CINAHL, Embase, Web of Science, PsycINFO, Scopus, MEDLINE and Virtual Health Library databases. Primary studies published in Portuguese, Spanish and English were included. Of the 909 articles found, 18 were selected for analysis by three independent reviewers. Data were summarized in tables and thematic categories. Sociodemographic factors, internal and external to the individual, can alter professional quality of life. In conclusion, intrinsic and subjective characteristics, as well as work environment aspects, contribute to the development of compassion fatigue and satisfaction.

Resumen Este artículo identificó los factores que pueden promover o dificultar la calidad de vida profesional de los profesionales de oncología según criterios de desgaste y satisfacción por empatía. Se utilizó un estudio bibliográfico descriptivo, del tipo revisión integradora, sin corte temporal. El análisis de los datos recopilados en CINAHL, Embase, Web of Science, PsycINFO, Scopus, MEDLINE y Biblioteca Virtual en Salud fue realizado por tres evaluadores independientes. Se incluyeron estudios primarios en portugués, inglés y español. Se realizaron un análisis de los datos, para lograr los objetivos propuestos, y una síntesis para presentarse en tablas y categorías temáticas. Entre los 909 artículos encontrados, se seleccionaron 18 artículos para el análisis. Los factores sociodemográficos, internos y externos a los individuos, pueden alterar la calidad de vida profesional. Se concluye que las características intrínsecas y subjetivas, así como los aspectos del ambiente laboral contribuyeron al desgaste y la satisfacción por empatía.

Resumo Este artigo busca identificar fatores que podem promover ou prejudicar a qualidade de vida profissional dos profissionais oncológicos segundo critérios de fadiga e satisfação por compaixão. Utilizou-se estudo bibliográfico descritivo, tipo revisão integrativa, sem recorte temporal. Utilizaram-se as bases de dados CINAHL, Embase, Web of Science, PsycINFO, Scopus, MEDLINE e Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde para a pesquisa analisada por três revisores independentes. Incluíram-se estudos primários nos idiomas português, inglês e espanhol. Realizaram-se análise para alcançar os objetivos propostos neste estudo e síntese dos dados para a apresentação em tabelas e categorias temáticas. Como resultados, selecionaram-se 18 artigos para análise entre os 909 encontrados. Evidenciou-se que fatores sociodemográficos, internos e externos aos indivíduos podem alterar a qualidade de vida profissional. Concluiu-se que características intrínsecas e subjetivas, bem como aspectos do ambiente de trabalho, contribuíram para o desenvolvimento da fadiga por compaixão e da satisfação por compaixão.

Abstract Introduction Fibromyalgia is a complex, generalized, and diffuse chronic musculoskeletal pain. Pharmacological approaches are widely used to relieve pain and increase quality of life. Low-Dose Naltrexone (LDN) was shown to increase the nociceptive threshold in patients with fibromyalgia. Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is effective for pain management. Objective The purpose of this study was to evaluate the analgesic and neuromodulatory effects of a combination of LDN and tDCS in patients with fibromyalgia. Methods This was a randomized, double-blinded, parallel, placebo/sham-controlled trial (NCT04502251; RBR-7HK8N) in which 86 women with fibromyalgia were included, and written informed consent was obtained from them. The patients were allocated into four groups: LDN + tDCS (n = 21), LDN + tDCS Sham (n = 22), placebo + tDCS (n = 22), and placebo+tDCS Sham (n = 21). The LDN or placebo (p.o.) intervention lasted 26 days; in the last five sessions, tDCS was applied (sham or active, 20 min, 2 mA). The following categories were assessed: sociodemographic, Visual Analog Pain Scale (VAS), Pain Catastrophizing Scale (PCS), State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ), Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), Profile of Chronic Pain Scale (PCP:S), Pain Pressure Threshold (PPT), and Conditioned Pain Modulation (CPM). Blood samples were collected to analyze BDNF serum levels. Results At baseline, no significant difference was found regarding all measurements. VAS pain was significantly reduced in the LDN + tDCS (p = 0.010), LDN + tDCS Sham (p= 0.001), and placebo+tDCS Sham (p= 0.009) groups. In the PCP:S, the LDN+tDCS group showed reduced pain frequency and intensity (p= 0.001), effect of pain on activities (p= 0.014) and emotions (p= 0.008). Depressive symptoms reduced after all active interventions (p > 0.001). Conclusion Combined LDN+tDCS has possible benefits in reducing pain frequency and intensity; however, a placebo effect was observed in pain using VAS, and further studies should be performed to analyze the possible association.

A new compound, (6R,7S,2E,4E)-6,7-dihydroxy-4,6-dimethylocta-2,4-dienoic acid (1), together with eight known compounds were isolated from the co-culture of Saccharicola sp. and Botryosphaeria parva, an endophytic fungi associated with Eugenia jambolana Lam. (Myrtaceae) plant species. The structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis of the one-dimensional (1D) and two-dimensional (2D) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and mass spectrometry (MS) data as well as by comparison with literature data. The bioactivity (antioxidant and antifungal) of the crude EtOAc was evaluated. All crude extracts presented antioxidant activity and only the crude extract from the co-culture was active on the fungus Cladosporium sphaerospermum. This investigation contributed to the knowledge about the metabolic production of two endophytic fungi Saccharicola sp. and Botryosphaeria parva in co-culture, once, until the present date, there are no studies in the literature that report the understanding of the chemical interaction of both grown in the same environment.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to assess the sociodemographic and clinical profile of women deprived of their liberty and to identify the prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases and human papillomavirus through self-sampling samples. METHODS: This is an epidemiological, cross-sectional, observational, and descriptive study of the prevalence and correlation of the diagnosis of human papillomavirus infection in 268 encarcered women in Amazonas submitted to self-sampling from June 2019 to September 2020 using the genotyping analysis. Patients with positive and inconclusive results were evaluated by commercialized PCR to detect pathogens causing sexually transmitted diseases. The sample size used was based on a convenience sample. RESULTS: In 268 women, human papillomavirus DNA was detected in 87 (32.5%) of them. Sexually transmitted diseases were detected in 30 (34.48%) of the 87 women with a positive or inconclusive result for human papillomavirus. Women with more than three pregnancies had a higher risk of human papillomavirus detection (p=0.004). CONCLUSION: The prevalence of human papillomavirus and other sexually transmitted diseases in encarcered women in Amazonas is 32.5 and 34.48%, respectively. Most women were single (60.4%) and reported having had more than 15 partners (90.8%).

Abstract Objective To analyze the risk of falls and its association with demographic and clinical variables, cognitive status, risk of sarcopenia and frailty among older adults hospitalized in a medical clinic of a university hospital. Method A quantitative, observational, cross-sectional analytical study of 60 older adults hospitalized in the medical clinic of a university hospital in São Paulo city, São Paulo state, Brazil, was carried out. Questionnaires collecting demographic profile and clinical data, the Mini-Mental State Examination, Morse Scale, SARC-F Scale and Tilburg Frailty Indicator were applied. Descriptive analyses and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test were performed. Spearman’s correlation test was used for quantitative variables and the Mann-Whitney U-test for categorical variables. Multiple linear regression was used to identify the associations and a significance level of 5% was adopted. Results The study sample comprised predominantly individuals that were female, aged 60-79 years and without a partner. Overall, 80% had cognitive impairment, 88.3% were diagnosed as frail, 60% were at risk for sarcopenia, and 75% had a high risk of falls during hospitalization. Cognitive impairment, frailty and sarcopenia risk were associated with risk of falls in the hospitalized older adults. Conclusion High risk of falls in the hospitalized older adults was directly associated with the presence of cognitive impairment, frailty syndrome and sarcopenia risk, confirming that these factors warrant attention from managers and nursing professionals.

Resumo Objetivo analisar o risco de queda e sua associação com as variáveis demográficas, clínicas, estado cognitivo, risco de sarcopenia e fragilidade da pessoa idosa hospitalizada em uma clínica médica de um hospital universitário. Método Estudo quantitativo, observacional, transversal e analítico realizado com 60 pessoas idosas hospitalizadas na clínica médica de um hospital universitário da cidade de São Paulo – SP, Brasil, com o uso dos seguintes questionários: perfil demográfico, dados clínicos, Mini Exame do Estado Mental, Escala de Morse, Escala SARC-F e Índice de Fragilidade Tilburg. Foram realizadas análises descritivas e teste de normalidade de Kolmogorov-Smirnov. Para as variáveis quantitativas foi utilizado o teste de correlação de Spearman e para categóricas, o teste U Mann-Whitney. Para identificar a associação, foi utilizada a regressão linear múltipla e adotado um nível de significância de 5%. Resultados Predomínio do sexo feminino, entre 60-79 anos e sem companheiro (a). Ademais, 80% apresentavam comprometimento cognitivo, 88,3% foram categorizados como frágeis, 60% apresentavam risco para sarcopenia e 75% possuíam alto risco de queda durante a hospitalização. Verificou-se associação do comprometimento cognitivo, ser frágil e ter risco de sarcopenia com o risco de queda na pessoa idosa hospitalizada. Conclusão o elevado risco de quedas em idosos hospitalizados está diretamente relacionado com a presença de deficit cognitivo, síndrome da fragilidade e o risco para sarcopenia, afirmando que esses fatores merecem atenção dos gestores e profissionais de enfermagem.

ABSTRACT Fungal virulence is multifaceted and dependent on multiple factors including the pH of the spore suspension. In this study, we accessed effects of six pH values of Beauveria bassiana, and Metarhizium anisopliae medium for the growth, sporulation, and mortality on sugarcane stalk borer Diatraea saccharalis. The culture of fungi was performed onplates containing the PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar) medium. Virulence was tested in D. saccharalis larvae distributed in four replicates of 15 larvae. To evaluate the performance of the isolates, they were grown at different pH values in an artificial chitin medium to confirm the degradation capacity of the fungi at each pH. No significant difference was observed for the sporulation at pH ranged from 4 to 9 for both fungi. In the mortality assay, larval mortality was higher at pH 7 and 8 for both fungi, reaching 87% for B. bassiana and 81% for M. anisopliae.

ABSTRACT Endometriosis is a common disease; however, unusual findings may cause diagnostic difficulties. We present herein three cases illustrating different morphological appearances of endometriosis: 1) endometriosis with atypical hyperplasia associated with bilateral ovarian carcinoma (mixed clear cell/endometrioid in the left ovary and endometrioid in the right ovary); 2) deep infiltrating endometriosis with intravascular spread, polypoid configuration in peritoneal surfaces, and involvement of a lymph node; and 3) decidualized endometriosis with prominent myxoid/mucinous change and multivacuolated (pseudoxanthoma) cells. Awareness of uncommon morphological manifestations of endometriosis is important to avoid improper consideration of malignancy.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the sexual function of women in the puerperal period after a postpartum pelvic floor musculature training program. We also sought to evaluate correlations between sexual dysfunction in the women and their delivery type and compare the frequency of sexual dysfunction and the quality of resumed sexual function following vaginal and cesarean deliveries. METHODS: This clinical study included an intervention, carried out between July and December 2019, in which data were collected about 28 rooming-in women at a Maternity School. Data were divided into vaginal delivery and cesarean delivery. Sexual function was evaluated by the Female Sexual Function Index and the International Consultation on Incontinence Questionnaire-Short Form to assess the Incontinence Urinary and qualifies urinary loss. The intervention consisted of a muscle training exercise program. ANOVA tests were used to establish differences between groups. RESULTS: There was an improvement in all outcomes, but there was no time versus group interaction. Improvement in sexual function was observed (p<0.001), the impact of urinary incontinence on quality of life (p<0.001), and pressure of the muscles of pelvic floor muscles (p<0.001) over time. There was no time versus group interaction for sexual function (p=0.87), the impact of urinary incontinence on quality of life (p=0.88), and pressure of the pelvic floor muscles (p=0.66). CONCLUSIONS: Pelvic floor muscle exercise programs seem to be a very promising strategy concerning improving sexual activity among puerperal patients.

RESUMO A constrição de cordão umbilical (CCU) é uma condição infrequente, não bem descrita na literatura, apesar de ser uma importante etiologia observada em fetos natimortos. O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a ocorrência de CCU como causa de morte fetal e as características etiopatológicas associadas. Para tanto, um estudo retrospectivo transversal foi realizado a partir das informações do banco de dados do Instituto de Patologia de Passo Fundo, durante os anos de 1995 a 2017. Os resultados foram: 1.359 mortes de embriões/fetos, das quais 69 (5,07%) foram devidas a CCU; 60,9% eram do sexo masculino e 39,1%, do feminino. A média de idade das gestantes foi de 27,5 anos; desvio padrão (DP) de ± 7,2 anos. A maioria das mortes ocorreu no segundo trimestre (76,5%), seguido pelo primeiro (14,7%) e terceiro (8,8%). Entre o total de CCU observadas, 87% tiveram ocorrência de apenas uma constrição; 11%, de duas; e 1%, de três ou mais. A presença de malformações congênitas foi encontrada em 20,2% das necropsias; a identificação de sofrimento fetal crônico foi relatada em 71% dos laudos; e características de vasculopatia obstrutiva na análise da microscopia, em 17% dos casos. Em relação às características anatomopatológicas entre os sexos masculino e feminino, nenhuma diferença significativa (p > 0,05) foi encontrada correlacionando idade gestacional dos fetos/embriões, peso ou malformações congênitas. A CCU é uma condição incomum de morte fetal associada a baixo peso fetal e restrição de crescimento. Nossa pesquisa sugere uma possível relação entre a CCU e a vasculopatia obliterativa.

ABSTRACT The umbilical cord constriction (UCC) is an uncommon condition and an important etiology for stillborn fetuses. The main goal of this study was to verify the UCC occurrence as the cause of intrauterine fetal death, the associated etiology and its pathological characteristics. Therefore, a descriptive retrospective cross-sectional study was developed using the database from a Pathology Institute, in Brazil, from 1995 to 2017. The results presented a total of 1,359 embryo/fetus deaths – 69 (5.07%) due to UCC, 60.9% males and 39.1% females. The average age of pregnant women was 27.5 years ± 7.2 years of standard deviation (SD). The majority of deaths occurred during the second trimester (76.5%), followed by the first (14.7%) and third (8.8%) trimesters, respectively. One constriction alone was found in 87% of cases, 11% had two constrictions and only 1% had three or more. The presence of congenital malformations was detected in 20.2% of necropsies, the identification of chronic fetal distress was described in 71% of the technical reports and 17% of the cases had obstructive vasculopathy characteristics in microscopy analysis. Regarding the anatomopathological characteristics between the male and female sexes, no significant difference was found (p > 0.05) correlating gestational age, weight or congenital malformations. UCC was a cause of fetal death found in 5% of the cases, and it was linked to congenital malformations, fetal distress and obliterative vasculopathy.

RESUMEN La constricción del cordón umbilical (CCU) es una condición infrecuente que no está bien descrita en la literatura, a pesar de ser una importante etiología observada en mortinatos. El objetivo de este estudio fue verificar la ocurrencia de CCU como causa de muerte fetal y las características patológicas asociadas. Para ello, se llevó a cabo un estudio retrospectivo transversal con informaciones de la base de datos de un Instituto de Patología, en Brasil, de 1995 hasta 2017. Los resultados fueron: 1.359 muertes de embriones/fetos, de las cuales 69 (5,07%) se debieron a CCU; 60,9% eran del sexo masculino y 39,1%, del femenino. El promedio de edad de las mujeres embarazadas fue de 27,5 anos; desviación estándar de ± 7,2 anos. La mayoría de las muertes ocurrió en el segundo trimestre (76,5%), seguido del primero (14,7%) y del tercero (8,8%). Entre el total de casos de CCU observados, 87% tuvieron sólo una constricción; 11%, dos; y 1%, tres o más. La presencia de malformaciones congénitas fue encontrada en 20,2% de las necropsias; la identificación de sufrimiento fetal crónico fue reportada en 71% de los informes; y características de vasculopatía obstructiva en el análisis de microscopía, en 17% de los casos. Con respecto a las características anatomopatológicas entre los sexos masculino y femenino, no se encontró ninguna diferencia significativa (p > 0,05) correlacionando edad gestacional de los fetos/embriones, peso o malformaciones congénitas. La CCU es una condición rara de muerte fetal asociada a bajo peso fetal y restricción de crecimiento. Nuestra investigación sugiere una posible relación entre la CCU y la vasculopatía obliterativa.

RESUMO Objetivo: produzir e validar um vídeo educativo sobre o procedimento da medida indireta da pressão arterial com técnica oscilométrica para apoiar ações de programas de rastreamento da pressão arterial no Brasil. Método: estudo metodológico composto por três etapas: 1) pré-produção de um roteiro/storyboard; 2) validação de conteúdo por um comitê de 16 especialistas recrutados conforme suas titulações e capacitações na área de interesse do estudo; 3) produção final, gravação e edição do vídeo educativo. Para a coleta dos dados foram utilizados três instrumentos validados que permitiram avaliar o vídeo quanto à sua funcionalidade, usabilidade, eficiência, relevância, linguagem verbal, técnica audiovisual, ambiente, conteúdo e objetivos propostos. A análise das variáveis quantitativas foi realizada por cálculo de frequências absolutas e relativas e as variáveis categóricas foram mensuradas por meio de média e de desvio padrão. Foram considerados válidos os itens que obtiveram IVC > 0,75. Resultados: a validação do roteiro foi realizada por oito especialistas e obteve um IVC de 0,93, enquanto a avaliação técnica do vídeo educativo e do storyboard foi realizada por três especialistas e obteve um IVC de 0,97. Após acatadas as sugestões dos especialistas, o vídeo educativo foi produzido e validado por oito especialistas, os quais consideraram o material válido para aplicação (IVC= 0,94). Conclusão: o vídeo educativo produzido e validado neste estudo foi caracterizado como estratégia adequada para o ensino da medida indireta da pressão arterial com técnica oscilométrica entre profissionais da saúde que se voluntariarem a participar de programas de rastreamento da pressão arterial no Brasil.

ABSTRACT Objective: to produce and validate an educational video on the procedure of indirect blood pressure measurement with the oscillometric technique to support actions of blood pressure screening programs in Brazil. Method: a methodological study consisting in three stages: 1) pre-production of a script/storyboard; 2) content validation by a committee of 16 experts recruited according to their degrees and training in the area of interest of the study; and 3) final production, recording and edition of the educational video. For data collection, three validated instruments were used that allowed the video to be assessed as to its functionality, usability, efficiency, relevance, verbal language, audiovisual technique, environment, content and proposed objectives. The analysis of the quantitative variables was performed by calculating absolute and relative frequencies, and the categorical variables were measured using means and standard deviations. Items that obtained a CVI > 0.75 were considered valid. Results: script validation was performed by eight experts and obtained a CVI of 0.93, while the technical assessment of the educational video and storyboard was performed by three experts and obtained a CVI of 0.97. After accepting the experts' suggestions, the educational video was produced and validated by eight experts, who considered the material valid for application (CVI = 0.94). Conclusion: the educational video produced and validated in this study was characterized as an appropriate strategy for teaching the indirect measurement of blood pressure with the oscillometric technique among health professionals who volunteer to participate in blood pressure screening programs in Brazil.

RESUMEN Objetivo: producir y validar un video educativo sobre el procedimiento de medición indirecta de la presión arterial con técnica oscilométrica para apoyar las acciones de los programas de detección de la presión arterial en Brasil. Método: estudio metodológico compuesto por tres etapas: 1) preproducción de un guion / storyboard; 2) validación de contenido por un comité de 16 especialistas reclutados de acuerdo a sus títulos y calificaciones en el área de interés del estudio; 3) producción final, grabación y edición del video educativo. Para la recolección de datos se utilizaron tres instrumentos validados que permitieron evaluar el video en cuanto a su funcionalidad, usabilidad, eficiencia, relevancia, lenguaje verbal, técnica audiovisual, entorno, contenido y objetivos propuestos. El análisis de las variables cuantitativas se realizó mediante el cálculo de frecuencias absolutas y relativas y las variables categóricas se midieron mediante medias y desviaciones estándar. Se consideraron válidos los ítems que obtuvieron un IVC > 0,75. Resultados: el guion fue validado por ocho especialistas y obtuvo un IVC de 0,93, mientras que la evaluación técnica del video educativo y storyboard realizada por tres especialistas obtuvo un IVC de 0,97. Después de aceptar las sugerencias de los especialistas, el video educativo fue producido y validado por ocho especialistas, quienes consideraron el material válido para su aplicación (IVC = 0,94). Conclusión: el video educativo producido y validado en este estudio se caracterizó como una estrategia adecuada para la enseñanza de la medición indirecta de la presión arterial con técnica oscilométrica entre los profesionales de la salud que se ofrecen como voluntarios para participar en los programas de detección de la presión arterial en Brasil.

RESUMO Introdução: O câncer cervical é considerado um problema de saúde pública e ocupa o quarto lugar entre os tipos de câncer mais frequentes em todo o mundo. Objetivo: Este trabalho se propôs a levantar as informações do seguimento e verificar a adesão às condutas preconizadas pelo Ministério da Saúde (MS) das mulheres com resultado citopatológico cervical de células escamosas atípicas de significado indeterminado (ASC-US) e células escamosas atípicas não podendo afastar lesão de alto grau (ASC-H), bem como avaliar a qualidade dos exames citopatológicos do laboratório prestador de serviço ao Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). Métodos: Resultados citopatológicos cervicais de atipias escamosas foram pesquisados entre 2016 e 2017 nas requisições padronizadas do MS. O desempenho do laboratório que realizou os exames citopatológicos foi analisado por meio dos índices recomendados no monitoramento interno da qualidade (MIQ) do MS [Manual de Gestão da Qualidade (MGQ)]. Resultados: Foram avaliados 42.478 exames citopatológicos; destes, 893 apresentaram resultado de ASC-US e 199, de ASC-H. Das mulheres com ASC-US, 73,2% repetiram o exame citopatológico; 18,7% permaneceram com exame citopatológico alterado e 81,3% tiveram resultado negativo para malignidade. Seguindo a recomendação do MS, 81,9% das mulheres repetiram o exame fora do período preconizado. Das mulheres com ASC-H, 51,8% realizaram o exame histopatológico conforme orientação do MS; 73,8% deles estavam alterados. Conclusão: Segundo as diretrizes do MS, a maioria das mulheres com ASC-US (81,9%) repetiram o exame citopatológico fora do período recomendado, e 48,2% das pacientes com ASC-H não realizaram o exame histopatológico.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Cervical cancer is considered a public health problem, ranking fourth among the most common types of cancer worldwide. Objective: The present study aimed to gather information on the follow-up, and to verify adherence to the management recommended by the Brazilian Ministry of Health (MH) of women with cervical cytopathological results of atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance (ASC-US) and atypical squamous cells, cannot exclude a high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion (ASC-H), as well as to evaluate the quality of cytopathology tests of the laboratory that provides services to the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS). Methods: Cervical cytopathology results of squamous atypia were researched between the years 2016 and 2017 in standardized requirements from the MH. The performance of the laboratory that carried out the cytopathology tests were analyzed using indexes recommended in the Internal Quality Monitoring (IQM) of the MH [Quality Management Manual (QMM)]. Results: 42,478 cytopathology tests were evaluated, 893 of these presented ASC-US results, and 199 ASC-H results. In women with ASC-US results, 73.2% repeated the cytopathology test, of which 18.7% remained the altered result, and 81.3% were negative for malignancy. Following the recommendation of the MH, 81.9% of women repeated the test outside the recommended period. In women with ASC-H, 51.8% underwent histopathological examination as recommended by the MH, of which 73.8% were altered. Conclusion: According to the MH Guidelines, most (81.9%) women with ASC-US repeated the cytopathology test

RESUMEN Introducción: El cáncer de cuello uterino se considera un problema de salud pública y ocupa el cuarto lugar entre los tipos de cáncer más comunes en todo el mundo. Objetivo: El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo recabar información sobre el seguimiento y verificar la adherencia al manejo recomendado por el Ministerio de Salud de Brasil (MS) de mujeres con resultados de la citopatología de cuello uterino de células escamosas atípicas de significado indeterminado (ASC-US) y células escamosas atípicas, no se descarta una lesión intraepitelial escamosa de alto grado (ASC-H), así como evaluar la calidad de las pruebas de citopatología del laboratorio que presta servicios al Sistema Único de Salud (SUS). Métodos: Se investigaron resultados de citopatología cervical de las atipias escamosas entre los años 2016 y 2017 en requisitos estandarizados del MS. El desempeño del laboratorio que realizó las pruebas de citopatología se analizó utilizando los índices recomendados en el Control de Calidad Interno (CCI) del MS [Manual de Control de Calidad (MCC)]. Resultados: Se evaluaron 42.478 pruebas de citopatología, de estos 893 presentaron resultados ASC-US y 199 resultados ASC-H. De las mujeres con resultados ASC-US, el 73,2% repitió la prueba de citopatología, de los cuales el 18,7% siguió siendo el resultado alterado y el 81,3% tuvo resultado negativo para malignidad. Siguiendo la recomendación del MS, el 81,9% de las mujeres repitieron la prueba fuera del plazo recomendado. En las mujeres con ASC-H, el 51,8% se sometió a examen histopatológico según lo recomendado por el MS, de los cuales el 73,8% estaban alterados. Conclusión: De acuerdo con las directrices MS, la mayoría (81,9%) de las mujeres con ASC-US repitieron la prueba de citopatología fuera del período recomendado y el 48,2% de las pacientes con ASC-H no se sometieron a la prueba de histopatología. El laboratorio presentó todos los indicadores MCC recomendados por el MS.

Abstract Acrylic resin has been used in the manufacture of prostheses, however, in the oral cavity, this material starts to retain microorganisms capable of causing gingival inflammation due its porosities. The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of the use of silicon dioxide as a coating layer applied onto acrylic resin, on the adhesion of Candida albicans (Ca). After the incubation period in Sabouraud Dextrose Broth, a total of 1 ml of the Ca suspension was added to plate wells, each well containing a specimen of acrylic resin. The adhesion ability of Ca on acrylic resin was determined by counting colonies. Three groups (n = 6) of acrylic resin were assessed: with polishing (RP); without polishing (RW); with polishing and coating layer of silicon dioxide (RPC). Ca deposited on the surface of the acrylic resin was also observed using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). Statistical assessment by Kruskal-Wallis and Student-Newman-Keuls Method were done (α = 2%). There was significant difference among the groups. The RPC group showed the lowest growth, with an average of 5.59 Log CFU/cm 2 ; there was a statistically significant difference in relation to group RW, which presented a growth of 6.07 Log CFU/cm 2 and to group RP with 5.91 Log CFU/cm 2 (p < 000.1). SEM images demonstrated that in the RP and RPC group, the surface of the resin had greater regularity, and smaller number of microorganisms. The application of silicon dioxide coating on acrylic resin appears to be a promising alternative, and its use can help in reducing the adhesion of Ca in prostheses.

ABSTRACT Objective to analyze the predictive factors for the aggravation of chronic wounds. Methods quantitative, cross-sectional study, whose collection was performed using the Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool. For data analysis, the independent t test, analysis of variance and multiple linear regressions were applied. The level of significance adopted was 0.05. Results in the bivariate analysis, it was observed that the variables making use of tobacco (p=0.005), presenting food restriction (p=0.001), signs of infection (p=0.005), odor characteristics (p<0.001) and evaluation pain (p=0.012) contributed to the worsening of chronic wounds. Conclusion it was found as predictors for the worsening of wounds: using tobacco, having food restriction of the hypo sodium or hypoglycemic type, in addition to presenting edema in the surrounding area, as a sign of infection.

RESUMO Objetivo analisar os fatores preditores ao agravamento de feridas crônicas. Metódos estudo quantitativo, transversal, cuja coleta foi realizada por meio do instrumento Bates-Jensen Wound Assessment Tool. Para análise dos dados, aplicaram-se o teste t independente, a análise de variância e a regressão linear múltipla. O nível de significância adotado foi 0,05. Resultados na análise bivariada, observou-se que as variáveis fazer uso de tabaco (p=0,005), apresentar restrição alimentar (p=0,001), sinais de infecção (p=0,005), características do odor (p<0,001) e avaliação da dor (p=0,012) contribuíram para o agravamento das feridas crônicas. Conclusão constatou-se como preditores para o agravamento de feridas: fazer uso de tabaco, possuir restrição alimentar do tipo hipossódica ou hipoglicemiante, além de apresentar edema na área perilesional, como sinal de infecção.
