Resumo Em condições de estresse salino, o crescimento das plantas é reduzido, em virtude, do desequilíbrio osmótico, nutricional e oxidativo. Contudo, o ácido salicílico atua na mitigação desse estresse abiótico por promover incremento no crescimento, fotossíntese, metabolismo do nitrogênio, síntese de osmorreguladores e enzimas antioxidantes. Nesse contexto, objetivou-se avaliar o efeito de doses de ácido salicílico sobre o crescimento e alterações fisiológicas de mudas de berinjela sob estresse salino. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, onde os tratamentos foram distribuídos em blocos ao acaso utilizando uma matriz composta central Box com cinco níveis de condutividade elétrica da água de irrigação (CEa) (0,50; 1,08; 2,50; 3,92 e 4,50 dS m-1), associada a cinco doses de ácido salicílico (AS) (0,00; 0,22; 0,75; 1,28 e 1,50 mM), com quatro repetições e cada parcela composta por três plantas. Aos 40 dias após a semeadura, foram determinados a altura da planta, diâmetro do caule, número de folhas, área foliar, vazamento de eletrólito, teor relativo de água e massa seca total. A CEa e a aplicação de AS influenciaram no crescimento e nas alterações fisiológicas das mudas de berinjela. O aumento da CEa reduziu o crescimento na ausência de AS. O dano de membrana com o uso de AS manteve-se estável até 3,9 dS m-1 de CEa. O conteúdo relativo de água independentemente da CEa aumentou com 1 mM de SA. O uso de AS na concentração de 1 mM mitigou o efeito deletério da salinidade no crescimento das mudas até 2,50 dS m-1 de CEa.

Abstract Under salt stress conditions, plant growth is reduced due to osmotic, nutritional and oxidative imbalance. However, salicylic acid acts in the mitigation of this abiotic stress by promoting an increase in growth, photosynthesis, nitrogen metabolism, synthesis of osmoregulators and antioxidant enzymes. In this context, the objective was to evaluate the effect of salicylic acid doses on the growth and physiological changes of eggplant seedlings under salt stress. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, where the treatments were distributed in randomized blocks using a central composite matrix Box with five levels of electrical conductivity of irrigation water (CEw) (0.50; 1.08; 2.50; 3.92 and 4.50 dS m-1), associated with five doses of salicylic acid (SA) (0.00; 0.22; 0.75; 1.28 and 1.50 mM), with four repetitions and each plot composed of three plants. At 40 days after sowing, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, electrolyte leakage, relative water content, and total dry mass were determined. ECw and SA application influenced the growth and physiological changes of eggplant seedlings. Increasing the ECw reduced growth in the absence of SA. Membrane damage with the use of SA remained stable up to 3.9 dS m-1 of ECw. The relative water content independent of the CEw increased with 1.0 mM of SA. The use of SA at the concentration of 1.0 mM mitigated the deleterious effect of salinity on seedling growth up to 2.50 dS m-1 of ECw.

Abstract The ixodicidal activity of the methanolic extracts of Artemisia ludoviciana (Astereceae), Cordia boissieri (Boraginaceae) and Litchi chinensis (Sapindaceae) against two field populations of Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus from the state of Nuevo Leon (NL) and Veracruz (VER) was evaluated. The extract of L. chinensis in the concentration of 150 mg/ml showed efficacies of 100% and 99% against engorged females and mortalities of 98% and 99% against larvae. C. boissieri in the same concentration showed efficacies of 71% and 37% against engorged adults and mortalities of 33.04% and 10.33% against larvae and A. ludoviciana had efficacies of 94% and 83% in adults and mortalities of 89.39% and 89.21% against larvae in both populations respectively. The enzymatic activity of Acetylcholinesterase (AChE), Carboxylesterase (CaE), Glutathione-S-Transferase (GST) and Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP) was measured in both populations of ticks. As a result, a significant difference between both populations was shown, being the VER population the one that exhibited a higher enzymatic activity (p ≤ 0.05). It can be concluded that the methanolic extract of the seed of L. chinensis shows potential ixodicidal activity and can be used as an alternative source of tick control, however, prior characterization, toxicity and formulation studies are necessary.

Resumo No presente trabalho, a atividade ixodicida de extratos metanólicos de Artemisia ludoviciana (Astereceae), Cordia boissieri (Boraginaceae) e Litchi chinensis (Sapindaceae) contra Rhipicephalus (Boophilus) microplus foi avaliada em duas populações de campo nos estados de Nuevo León (NL) y Veracruz (VER). O extrato de L. chinensis na concentração de 150 mg/ml, apresentou eficácia de 100% e 99% contra fêmeas ingurgitadas, e taxas de mortalidade de 98% e 99% contra larvas. C. boissieri, na mesma concentração, apresentou eficácia de 71% e 37% contra adultas ingurgitados, e taxas de mortalidade de 33,04% e 10,33% contra larvas e A. ludoviciana apresentou eficácias de 94% e 83% em adultos e mortalidade de 89,39% e 89,21% contra larvas em ambas as populações respectivamente. Por outro lado, a atividade enzimática da Acetilcolinesterase (AChE), Carboxilesterase (CaE), Glutationa-S-Transferase (GST) e Fosfatase Alcalina (ALP) foi medida em ambas as populações de carrapatos. Como resultado, foi apresentada uma diferença significativa entre as populações, sendo a população VER a que apresentou maior atividade enzimática (p ≤ 0,05). Assim, pode-se concluir que o extrato metanólico da semente de L. chinensis apresenta potencial atividade ixodicida e pode ser utilizado como fonte alternativa de controle de carrapatos, porém estudos prévios de caracterização, toxicidade e formulação são necessários.

The genus Aristolochia stands out as the most representative of the Aristolochiaceae plant family, with approximately 550 species distributed around the world, many of which have little or no studies reported in the literature. Investigation of the acetone extract from leaves of Aristolochia warmingii Mast. resulted in the isolation and identification of twenty-three compounds, mostly lignans and neolignans, including the new furofuran lignans warminin A (1), warminin B (2) and warminin C (3). The structures of the compounds were established by comprehensive spectroscopic and spectrometric analyses. A large amount of (–)-epieudesmin (4) was isolated from the extract, which suggests that A. warmingii could be a potential source of this compound. The hexane, acetone, ethanol, and ethanol Soxhlet extracts, in addition to fourteen of the isolated compounds, were evaluated for their ability to inhibit the formation of advanced glycation end products (AGEs), but they did not show significant activities.

Abstract One of the new waters, and environmentally friendly agriculture initiatives in Peru is to encourage the utilization of agricultural waste, because low agricultural output is a threat to food security there. The purpose of this research was to evaluate the effect of harvest residues on the basidiocarp production of the fungus Pleurotus Ostreatus, in Acobamba-Huancavelica. The trial had a completely randomized design, and the treatments included T1, barley stubbles; T2, wheat stubbles; T3, pea stubbles; T4, broad bean stubbles; and T5, quinoa stubbles. The research was quantitative in nature, taking the form of an experiment with an applied, explanatory level of design. The recorded data was tabulated and analyzed with analysis of variance, as well as Tukey's test (α:0.05), for which the statistical software Infostat was used. The results are presented in tables and graphs for a better interpretation. As main results, it was obtained that the time (colonization), diameter (stem, pileus), length (stem) and weight (basidiocarps), present statistical differences between treatments showing significant enhancement in all parameters. Despite a numerical difference, a Tukey average comparison test revealed that there was no statistically significant difference between the averages for the variable time for fungus colonisation, suggesting that the treatment T5 in which quinoa substrate showed the greatest average. Treatment T4 in which broad bean stubbles were used gave the most low-average. In conclusion, increment in all parámeters were noted in all treatment of Pleurotus basidiocarps ostreatus under Acobamba conditions.

Resumo Uma das novas iniciativas de águas e agricultura ecológica no Peru é incentivar a utilização de resíduos agrícolas, porque a baixa produção agrícola é uma ameaça à segurança alimentar no país. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar o efeito dos resíduos da colheita na produção de basidiocarpos do fungo Pleurotus ostreatus, em Acobamba-Huancavelica. O ensaio teve um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, e os tratamentos incluíram T1, restolho de cevada; T2, soqueiras de trigo; T3, restolho de ervilha; T4, restolho de fava; e T5, restolho de quinoa. A pesquisa foi de natureza quantitativa, assumindo a forma de experimento com um nível de design aplicado e explicativo. Os dados registrados foram tabulados e analisados com análise de variância, bem como teste de Tukey (α:0,05), para o qual foi utilizado o software estatístico Infostat. Os resultados são apresentados em tabelas e gráficos para melhor interpretação. Como principais resultados, obteve-se que o tempo (colonização), diâmetro (caule, píleo), comprimento (caule) e peso (basidiocarpos) apresentam diferenças estatísticas entre os tratamentos, mostrando melhora significativa em todos os parâmetros. Apesar da diferença numérica, o teste de comparação de médias de Tukey revelou que não houve diferença estatisticamente significativa entre as médias para a variável tempo de colonização do fungo, sugerindo que o tratamento T5 em que usou o substrato quinoa, apresentou a maior média. O tratamento T4, no qual foram usadas restolhos de fava, apresentou a média mais baixa. Em conclusão, incrementos em todos os parâmetros foram observados em todos os tratamentos de Pleurotus basidiocarps ostreatus nas condições de Acobamba.

Abstract Meat products represent an important component of the human diet and are a good source of nutrients. Food-borne microorganisms are the main pathogens that cause human diseases as a result of food consumption, especially products of animal origin. The objective of the present research was to verify the antibacterial activity of the essential oil of Thymus vulgaris against strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus saprophyticus isolated from meat products. For this, the analyses of Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Bactericidal Concentration (MBC) were performed in microdilution plates. The association of the product with antimicrobials was also studied using disk diffusion. And the anti-adherent activity, which was determined in the presence of sucrose, in glass tubes. Thyme oil showed a strong inhibitory activity against K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa and S. saprophyticus, with the MIC values ranging from 64 to 512 μg/mL, and bactericidal effect for most strains, with MBC values ranging from 256 to 1,024 μg/mL. T. vulgaris oil exhibited varied interactions in association with the antimicrobials, with synergistic (41.67%), indifferent (50%) and antagonistic (8.33%) effects. Regarding the anti-adherent activity, the test product was effective in inhibiting the adherence of all bacterial strains under study. Therefore, thyme oil presents itself as an antibacterial and anti-adherent agent against K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa and S. saprophyticus, being a natural product that can represent an interesting alternative in the efforts to combat foodborne diseases.

Resumo Os produtos cárneos representam um importante componente da dieta humana e constituem uma boa fonte de nutrientes. Microrganismos de origem alimentar são os principais patógenos que causam doenças humanas como resultado do consumo de alimentos, principalmente, produtos de origem animal. O objetivo da presente pesquisa foi verificar a atividade antibacteriana do óleo essencial de Thymus vulgaris frente às cepas de Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa e Staphylococcus saprophyticus isoladas de produtos cárneos. Para isso, foram realizadas as análises de Concentração Inibitória Mínima (CIM) e a Concentração Bactericida Mínima (CBM) em placas de microdiluição. Assim como, o estudo de associação do produto com antimicrobianos, realizado por difusão em disco. E a atividade antiaderente, que foi determinada na presença de sacarose, em tubos de vidro. O óleo de tomilho apresentou uma forte atividade inibitória contra K. pneumoniae, P. aeruginosa e S. saprophyticus, com os valores de CIM variando entre 64 a 512 μg/mL, e efeito bactericida para a maioria das cepas, com valores de CBM entre 256 a 1.024 μg/mL. O óleo de T. vulgaris exibiu interações variadas na associação com os antimicrobianos, com efeitos sinérgicos (41,67%), indiferente (50%) e antagonista (8,33%). Em relação a atividade antiaderente, o produto teste foi eficaz na inibição a aderência de todas cepas bacterianas em estudo. Portanto, o óleo de tomilho apresenta-se como agente antibacteriano e antiaderente frente a K. pneumoniae, a P. aeruginosa e a S. saprophyticus, sendo um produto natural que pode representar uma alternativa interessante nos esforços para combater doenças transmitidas por alimentos.

ABSTRACT The goal of this paper was to apply a method for the delineation of vegetation homogeneous zones (HZs) to map the profitability of cotton ( Gossypium sp.) using NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) data from RPA imagery. Two irrigated cotton crops, at the FAU (103 ha) and FRP farms (106 ha), located in the western region of Bahia State, Brazil, were studied. The NDVI images were classified into three HZs: “high”, “medium” and “low” plant vigor; using the k-means clustering method. In each HZ the yield was measured, and the profitability estimated. In FAU we found that the lower the HZ’s NDVI values, the lower its profitability, because there was profit in the “high vigor” HZ, of US$ 829.40 ha-1, and loss in the “low vigor” HZ, of about US$ ‒1.256.09 ha-1 (‒251.44% compared with the “high vigor”). In the FRP plantation, the lower the NDVI values, the lower the loss of the plantation, as there were losses in all HZs: from “high” to “low vigor” HZ, the percentage difference in profitability was ‒343.43%. Thus, the use of a low-cost modified near-infrared Canon S100 on an RPA enabled the mapping of crop profitability, aiding the search for the factors behind yield variability.

In juice and pulp extraction, about 10% of fruit waste is generated, which often ends up in landfills that can cause environmental damage, serve as food for insects and rodents, and cause health problems for humans. In this work, micronized guava waste was used as a filler in vulcanized compounds in natural rubber. Mechanical properties such as hardness, tensile strength, tear resistance, and abrasion resistance were evaluated, as well as thermal properties such as thermogravimetric analysis, in addition to scanning electron microscopy, X-ray fluorescence, elemental analysis, and infrared spectroscopy. According to the results of the mechanical properties tests, the addition of up to 20 phr of the filler tends to improve the tensile strength of the composites, resulting in an increase in the density of cross-links obtained through the Flory-Rehner method. The thermal behavior analyzed by TGA and FTIR spectra were not affected by the incorporation of fillers.

Abstract The purpose of the present investigation was to determine the effect of rhizobium and gibberellin on the production of hydroponic green forage from red clover (Trifolium pratense L.) variety quiñequeli, four variables were measured: plant height, biomass weight, grass weight and root weight. The treatments were T0: 0%, T1: 10%, T2: 20%, T3: 30% and T4: 40% of Rhizobium before germination and Gibberellin T0: 0g, T1: 2.4g; T2: 3.3g; T3: 4.3 and T4: 5.3g each treatment with 6 repetitions, three applications on days 5, 10, 15 and 20 of growth. Data were analyzed with DCA, ANOVA and DUNCAN's multiple comparisons test; the results obtained were: first measurement with rhizobium without gibberellin there were no statistical differences, second and third measurement with Gibberellin application did not present statistical differences and the fourth measurement presented statistical difference (α=0.05), average height of the plant with a mean of 12.82 cm, T4 was higher, in biomass a statistical difference was obtained with a mean of 3.056 kg, T3 was higher, weight of grass and root did not present statistical differences; concluding that the use of rhizobium and gibberellin could be a usable alternative in the production of hydroponic green fodder, to alleviate the problems of fodder scarcity in dry season, its use being recommended in high Andean livestock.

Resumo O objetivo da presente investigação foi determinar o efeito do rizóbio e da giberelina na produção de forragem verde hidropônica a partir do trevo vermelho (Trifolium pratense L.), variedade quiñequeli, para isso, foram medidas quatro variáveis: altura da planta, peso da biomassa, peso do capim e peso da raiz. Os tratamentos foram T0: 0%, T1: 10%, T2: 20%, T3: 30% e T4: 40% de Rizóbio antes da germinação, e Giberelina T0: 0g, T1: 2,4g; T2: 3,3g; T3: 4,3 e T4: 5,3g a cada tratamento com 6 repetições, com três aplicações nos dias 5, 10, 15 e 20 de crescimento. Os dados foram analisados com DCA, ANOVA e teste de comparações múltiplas de DUNCAN; os resultados obtidos foram: a primeira medição com rizóbio sem giberelina não apresentou diferenças estatísticas, a segunda e terceira medição com aplicação de giberelina não apresentaram diferenças estatísticas e a quarta medição apresentou diferença estatística (α=0,05), altura média da planta com média de 12,82 cm, T4 foi maior, na biomassa obteve-se diferença estatística com média de 3,056 kg, T3 foi maior, peso do capim e da raiz não apresentaram diferenças estatísticas; concluindo que o uso de rizóbio e giberelina poderia ser uma alternativa utilizável na produção de forragem verde hidropônica para aliviar os problemas de escassez de forragem na estação seca, sendo seu uso recomendado para a pecuária da região alta-andina.

Abstract The cowpea bean [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.], a legume of great socioeconomic importance, it was previously cultivated exclusively for subsistence and commercial purposes, especially in the North and Northeast regions. This crop has a low production cost and high nutritional value, in addition to a high potential for productivity growth and expansion to other regions. The objective of this work was to evaluate parameters of growth and production in cowpea culture, as a function of potassium fertilization in soil of the cerrado of Amapá. The parameters of growth and production of the cowpea culture were evaluated, as a function of potassium fertilization in the soil of the cerrado of Amapá. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse, using a completely randomized experimental design, with four replications, in a 5x2 factorial scheme, totaling 40 experimental units, which were composed of plastic pots containing 7 dm3 of soil collected from the arable layer (0-20 cm ) of a typical Hyperdystrophic Yellow Argisol, with a sandy clay loam texture, in a cerrado area in the municipality of Porto Grande-AP. The factors consisted of the control treatment (without K), four doses of K (45, 90, 135 and 180 kg ha-1) in the form of potassium chloride, and two cowpea cultivars (Pretinho and BRS Tumucumaque). The cultivar BRS Tumucumaque shows better growth and production of cowpea plants. Doses of 90 kg ha-1 provided greater height (98.75 cm) and stem diameter (10.0 mm). As for production, the dose of 135 kg ha-1 caused greater grain weight gain (5.25 g) and dry mass of pods (13.92 g), and the doses of 90 and 180 kg ha-1 induced greater number and length of pods (3.16 pods) respectively. These results show better responsiveness of the BRS Tumucumaque cultivar at doses of 90, 135 and 180 kg ha-1 in the type of soil where the study was conducted.

Resumo O feijão-caupi [Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp.], leguminosa de grande importância socioeconômica, era anteriormente cultivado exclusivamente para fins de subsistência e comerciais, principalmente nas regiões Norte e Nordeste. Essa cultura apresenta baixo custo de produção e alto valor nutritivo, além de alto potencial de crescimento de produtividade e expansão para outras regiões. Apesar da importância fisiológica do potássio para o crescimento das plantas e o plantio da cultura ocorrer predominantemente em solos arenosos e argilosos, há poucos estudos relacionando seu cultivo à adubação potássica. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar parâmetros de crescimento e produção na cultura do feijão-caupi, em função da adubação potássica em solo do cerrado do Amapá. Foram avaliadas a altura das plantas, o diâmetro do caule, a massa seca da parte aérea (folha e caule) e da raiz e a produção (massa seca de grãos e vagens, comprimento de vagens e número de vagens) na cultura do feijão-caupi em função da adubação potássica no solo do Cerrado. do Amapá. O experimento foi controlado em casa de vegetação, utilizando delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições, em esquema fatorial 5x2, totalizando 40 unidades experimentais, as quais foram compostas por vasos plásticos contendo 7 dm3 de solo coletado da camada arável (0-20 cm) de um típico Argissolo Amarelo Hiperdistrófico, com textura franco-argilosa arenosa. Os fatores foram constituintes do tratamento controle (sem K), quatro doses de K (45, 90, 135 e 180 kg ha-1) na forma de potássio potássico e duas cultivares de feijão-caupi (Pretinho e BRS Tumucumaque). A cultivar BRS Tumucumaque apresentou melhor crescimento e produção. A dose de 90 kg ha-1 proporcionou maior altura (98,75 cm) e diâmetro do caule (10,0 mm). Quanto à produção, a dose de 135 kg ha-1 proporcionou maior ganho de peso de grãos (5,25 g) e massa seca de vagens (13,92 g), e doses de 90 e 180 kg ha-1 induziram maior número e comprimento de vaginas (3,16 vaginas), respectivamente. Esses resultados mostram melhor responsividade da cultivar BRS Tumucumaque nas doses de 90, 135 e 180 kg ha-1 no tipo de solo onde o estudo foi realizado.

Abstract Functional beverages with added health benefits are popular among peoples and athletes because they help them recover faster from intense workouts and perform better overall. This research set out to determine how well heat-treated stem juice from Oxalis tuberosa Mol. “oca” and fruit juice from Gaultheria glomerata (Cav.) Sleumer “laqa-laqa” performed as an antioxidant in a functional drink. The “oca” stems and the “laqa-laqa” fruit were collected to obtain the juice. For this study, 30 semi-trained panellists used sensory evaluation to rate four treatments (Bo, B1, B2, and B3) with varying quantities of “oca” and “laqa-laqa” juice. The results concluded that the treatment B2, which included 300 ml of “oca” stem juice, 800 ml of “laqa-laqa” juice, 1000 ml of treated water, and 220 g of refined sugar, was given the highest score after a physicochemical evaluation of its colour, smell, taste, and overall appearance. Similarly, the results showed that the protein content increased by 1.38%, the fat content by 1.08%, the moisture percentage by 99.5%, the ash content by 1.82%, and the carbohydrate content by 6.22% after B2 treatment. Similarly, results revealed significant enhancement in antioxidant profiling such as total polyphenols: 1825 mg of gallic acid/100 g and antioxidant Activity: 89.56% μmol of trolox /100 g. In conclusion, due to its high energy content and antioxidant activity, it may be a viable nutritional option for athletes who engage in rigorous, frequent physical exertion.

Resumo As bebidas funcionais com benefícios adicionais à saúde são populares entre as pessoas e os atletas porque os ajudam a se recuperar mais rapidamente de exercícios intensos e a ter um desempenho geral melhor. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo determinar o quão beneficamente o suco do caule tratado termicamente de Oxalis tuberosa Mol. “oca” e o suco de fruta de Gaultheria glomerata (Cav.) Sleumer “laqa-laqa” atuaram como antioxidante em bebida funcional. Os caules da “oca” e os frutos da “laqa-laqa” foram coletados para a obtenção do suco. Para este estudo, 30 provadores semitreinados usaram a avaliação sensorial para avaliar quatro tratamentos (B0, B1, B2 e B3) com quantidades variadas de suco de “oca” e “laqa-laqa”. Os resultados indicaram que o tratamento B2, que incluía 300 mL de suco de caule de “oca”, 800 mL de suco de “laqa-laqa”, 1.000 mL de água tratada e 220 g de açúcar refinado, obteve a maior pontuação após avaliação físico-química e avaliação de cor, cheiro, sabor e aparência geral. Da mesma forma, os resultados mostraram que o teor de proteína aumentou em 1,38%, o teor de gordura, em 1,08%, o percentual de umidade, em 99,5%, o teor de cinzas, em 1,82%, e o teor de carboidratos, em 6,22%, após o tratamento B2. Da mesma forma, os resultados revelaram aumento significativo no perfil antioxidante, como polifenóis totais: 1.825 mg de ácido gálico/100 g e atividade antioxidante de 89,56% μmol de trolox /100 g. Em conclusão, devido ao seu alto teor energético e à atividade antioxidante, pode ser uma opção nutricional viável para atletas que praticam esforço físico rigoroso e frequente.

Abstract The pandemic and the geopolitical conflict between Russia and Ukraine are events that have caused economic instability in Peru. Reason that was investigated on the analysis of the biological and chemical characteristics of cabbage fed with compost based on sugarcane residues. The objective was to analyze the physical, chemical and biological characteristics of cabbage from the adequate dose of compost based on sugarcane residues and distance between plants. It is based on the methodology applied with an experimental approach, for which the Completely Random Block Design with a 4x 2 factorial arrangement was used, which consisted of 3 blocks and 8 treatments that were the combination: F1 with 0, F2 with 8, T3 with 10 and F4 with 12 t/ha and spacing (D1) with 0.30 m between plants and 0.60 m between rows and (D2) with 0.35 m between plants and 0.60 m between rows. The physical characteristics of cabbage were evaluated and processed by analysis of variance, nutrient concentrations in leaves and stomatal density were analyzed. The results determined that T7 stood out in plant height with 41.88 cm, yield with 26.76 tn/ha and T6 in root length with 20.22 cm. In chemical analysis of leaves T1 stood out in nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and T4 in calcium, magnesium and sulfur. In T7 stomata density with 977 stomata/mm2. It concludes that at an adequate dose and greater distance that T7 stands out in the concentration of nutrients that are within normal values and high density of stomata; Therefore, these characteristics influenced the optimal biochemical reactions, which obtained good development and yield that differed at 51.39% and 32.17% with respect to the controls T1 and T5.

Resumo A pandemia e o conflito geopolítico entre a Rússia e a Ucrânia são eventos que têm causado instabilidade econômica no Peru. Motivo que foi investigado na análise das características biológicas e químicas do repolho alimentado com composto à base de resíduos da cana-de-açúcar. O objetivo foi analisar as características físicas, químicas e biológicas do repolho a partir da dose adequada de composto à base de resíduos da cana-de-açúcar e distância entre plantas. Baseia-se na metodologia aplicada com uma abordagem experimental, para a qual foi utilizado o Delineamento de Blocos Completamente Aleatório com arranjo fatorial 4 x 2, que consistia em 3 blocos e 8 tratamentos que eram a combinação: F1 com 0, F2 com 8, T3 com 10 e F4 com 12 toneladas/ha e espaçamento (D1) com 0,30 m entre plantas e 0,60 m entre linhas e (D2) com 0,35 m entre plantas e 0,60 m entre linhas. As características físicas do repolho foram avaliadas e processadas por análise de variância, as concentrações de nutrientes nas folhas e a densidade estomática foram analisadas. Os resultados determinaram que T7 se destacou em altura de planta com 41,88 cm, produtividade com 26,76 tn/ha e T6 em comprimento de raiz com 20,22 cm. Na análise química das folhas T1 se destacou em nitrogênio, fósforo, potássio e T4 em cálcio, magnésio e enxofre. Em densidade de estômatos T7 com 977 estômatos/mm2. Conclui que em dose adequada e maior distância que T7 se destaca na concentração de nutrientes que estão dentro dos valores normais e alta densidade de estômatos; Portanto, essas características influenciaram nas reações bioquímicas ótimas, que obtiveram bom desenvolvimento e rendimentos que diferiram em 51,39% e 32,17% em relação aos controles T1 e T5.

Abstract In this work we study the effects of Initial State Radiation (ISR) and Beamstrahlung (BS), in the production of Z’ in the 3-3-1 model with heavy leptons. The impact of the ISR and BS on precision measurements strongly afects the behaviour of the production cross section around the resonance points: m Z ' = 5976.43 ( 6830.21 ; 8539.47 ) GeV for v χ = 3.5 ( 4.0 ; 5.0 ) TeV, at the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC).

Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio fue conocer las prácticas y la percepción sobre los riesgos de los plagui cidas domésticos (PDs) en madres y padres de niños en etapas tempranas del desarrollo. Sujetos y Método: Investigación de diseño cualitativo mediante entrevistas a madres y padres en 18 domicilios con niños de 0 a 3 años afiliados al Seguro de Salud del Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires en el año 2015. Se identificaron categorías analíticas, se conceptualizaron categorías analíticas interpretativas de mayor nivel de abstracción y finalmente se construyeron diagramas para representar y organizar los hallazgos. Resultados: Las entrevistas mostraron que las madres y padres: 1) Utilizaban habi tualmente PDs, 2) Mostraron en general baja preocupación por los peligros para la salud de los PDs y productos químicos hogareños excepto un grupo pequeño más sensibilizado, 3) Les preocupaba más las picaduras de insectos en sus hijos que la exposición a PDs, 4) Confiaban en los servicios de fumigación y/o en el marco normativo que los regula, y 5) Manifestaron interés en que el pediatra les brindara información acerca de los productos químicos que se utilizan diariamente en el hogar. Otras categorías analíticas mostraron un ajuste constante entre toxicidad, patogenicidad, higiene y bienestar. Conclusiones: Dado que los niveles de exposición hogareña considerados inocuos para adultos pueden ser toxicológicamente relevantes para individuos en desarrollo, los entes de gobierno y salud deberían proveer a los padres de herramientas intelectuales para decodificar los mensajes del mercadeo de PDs, así como para conceptualizar la relación entre contacto con PDs y trastornos de salud infantil.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to know the practices and risk perception of household pesticides (HPs) of mothers and fathers of children in early developmental stages. Subjects and Method: Qualitative research carried out in 2015. We conducted interviews in 18 homes with mothers and fathers of children aged 0 to 3 years registered in the General Health Insurance Plan of the Hospital Italiano de Buenos Aires (Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires). The analytical categories were identified, interpretive analytical categories of higher-level abstraction were conceptualized, and finally, diagrams were constructed to represent and organize the findings. Results: The interviews showed that mothers and fathers: 1) used HPs regularly, 2) showed low concern for the health hazards of HPs and other household chemicals, except for a small, more sensitized group of parents, 3) they were more concerned regarding mosquito bites than exposure of their children to HPs, 4) relied on fumigation services and the normative framework that regulates them, and 5) expressed interest and willingness to receive more information and orientation from the pediatrician about the safe use of chemical products at home. Other analytical categories showed a constant parental adjustment between toxicity, pathogenicity, hygiene, and well-being. Conclusions: Since home exposures levels to HPs considered safe for adults may be toxicologically relevant for young children, government and health agencies should provide parents with tools to decode HPs marketing and publicity messages, as well as to conceptualize the relationship between HPs use and childhood health disorders.

RESUMO A batata-doce é uma hortaliça alimentar básica para a população. Este trabalho objetivou-se avaliar o rendimento da batata-doce em resposta à adubação potássica com diferentes fontes e parcelamento. O trabalho foi conduzido na Universidade Federal da Paraíba, em Areia-PB. O delineamento experimental foi de blocos casualizados em arranjo fatorial 7 × 2, com sete épocas de aplicação (100% no plantio; 100% aos 30 dias após o plantio (DAP); 100% aos 60 DAP; 50% no plantio e 50% aos 30 DAP; 50% no plantio e 50% aos 60 DAP; 50% aos 30 e 50% aos 60 DAP; 33% no plantio 33% aos 30 e 33% aos 60 DAP) e duas fontes, cloreto e sulfato de potássio, com três repetições. As variáveis analisadas foram à massa fresca por planta, massa média de raízes comerciais, produção de raízes comerciais por planta, teor de K foliar, produtividades total e comercial de raízes. O cloreto e sulfato de potássio incrementaram a massa fresca da planta e a massa de raízes comerciais, respectivamente. As produtividades comerciais de raízes (25,16 e 22,28 Mg ha-1) foram superiores à média nacional (14,07 Mg ha-1), quando se forneceu K2O nas fontes sulfato e cloreto de potássio, respectivamente. O teor de K foliar ficou dentro do padrão para a cultura, sob adubação de cloreto e sulfato de potássio. A aplicação de sulfato de potássio proporciona maior rendimento de batata-doce. O cloreto e o sulfato de potássio, quando fornecidos em uma única aplicação, aumentam a produtividade total e comercial somente quando as plantas estão aos 60 DAP.

ABSTRACT Sweet potatoes are an important staple food for human consumption. This study evaluated sweet potato yield in response to potassium fertilization using different sources and splitting. It was conducted at the Universidade Federal da Paraíba, Areia-PB. A complete randomized block experimental design was used in a 7 × 2 factorial arrangement. The fertilization was split into seven treatments (100% after planting; 100% at 30 days after planting (DAP); 100% at 60 DAP; 50% after planting and 50% at 30 DAP; 50% after planting and 50% at 60 DAP; 50% at 30 DAP and 50% 60 at DAP; 33% after planting, 33% at 30 DAP, and 33% at 60 DAP). Two fertilization sources were used, namely potassium chloride and potassium sulfate, with three replicates. Plant fresh mass, mass of marketable roots, production of marketable roots per plant, leaf K concentration, total and marketable root yields were evaluated. Chloride and sulfate potassium efficiently increased the fresh mass of the plant and the mass of marketable roots, respectively. The marketable yield of the roots (25.16 and 22.28 Mg ha-1) was higher than the national average (14.07 Mg ha-1) when K2O was supplied in the sulfate and potassium chloride sources, respectively. The leaf K concentration remained within the standard levels for the crops under chloride and potassium sulfate fertilization. Potassium sulfate application results in higher sweet potato yields. When supplied in a single application, chloride and sulfate potassium increase the total and commercial yield only when the plants are at 60 DAP.

Abstract Antimony doped tin oxide (ATO) thin films are deposited on corning glass substrate using the spray pyrolysis technique. The experimental parameters such as distance between the substrate and source (10-30 cm), substrate temperature (350-450°C) and atmospheres (Nitrogen and Forming gas) are varied to study their effect on the properties of ATO thin films. The ATO thin film annealed at 425°C exhibits the lowest electrical resistivity of 2.23×10-2 Ω-cm. Besides, the film annealed in the nitrogen atmosphere showed a less resistivity value of 9.06×10-3 (Ω-cm) than the forming gas atmosphere. The film doped with 3 at% of Sb revealed the highest figure of merit value of 11.45x10-2 Ω-1. The preferential orientation is observed at the (200) diffraction plane in all the cases from the structural studies. Furthermore, the intensity of the diffraction planes decreases as the temperature increases. The average transmittance of 75% is obtained for ATO thin films.
