Abstract The objective was to evaluate the nematocidal effect of four hydroalcoholic extracts (HAE) of Brosimum alicastrum (HAE-Ba), Guazuma ulmifolia (HAE-Gu), Erythrina americana (HAE-Ea) and Leucaena leucocephala (HAE-Ll) against Haemonchus contortus. The tests of egg hatching inhibition (EHI) and larval (infective larvae) mortality were used. The treatments were HAEs at concentrations of 6.25-50 mg/mL for EHI and 25-100 mg/mL for larval mortality, ivermectin (5 mg/mL, positive control) and distilled water (negative control). Data were analyzed using an ANOVA and treatments with a concentration-dependent effect were subjected to a regression analysis to determine lethal concentrations (LC50 and LC90). In addition, a phytochemical analysis was performed on the extracts to identify the presence of the main secondary metabolites. The best ovicidal and larvicidal activity was observed in HAE-Gu with 96.78 % EHI at 6.25 mg/mL and 57.2 % larval mortality at 75 mg/mL. Followed by HAE-Ba showing 90 % EHI at 6.25 mg/mL and 58.0 % larval mortality at 75 mg/mL. The LC50 and LC90 of HAE-Gu on EHI were 2.7 and 4.4 mg/mL, respectively. While the LCs of this same extract on larvae were LC50= 64 and LC90= 125 mg/mL. The phytochemical analysis indicates that all extracts contain tannins, coumarins, flavonoids and terpenes. The fodder species G. ulmifolia and E. americana could be candidate plants for the control of H. contortus.

Resumen El objetivo del presente estudio fue evaluar el efecto nematicida de cuatro extractos hidroalcohólicos (EHA) de Brosimum alicastrum (EHA-Ba), Guazuma ulmifolia (EHA-Gu), Erythrina americana (EHA-Ea) y Leucaena leucocephala (EHA-Ll) contra Haemonchus contortus. Se usaron las pruebas de inhibición de la eclosión de huevos (IEH) y mortalidad larval (larvas infectantes). Los tratamientos fueron los EHA´s a concentraciones de 6.25-50 mg/ml para IEH y de 25-100 mg/ml para mortalidad larval, ivermectina (5 mg/ml, control positivo) y agua destilada (control negativo). Los datos se analizaron mediante un ANOVA y los tratamientos con efecto dependiente a la concentración se sometieron a un análisis de regresión para determinar las concentraciones letales (CL50 y CL90). Además, se realizó un análisis fitoquímico a los extractos para identificar la presencia de los principales metabolitos secundarios. La mejor actividad ovicida y larvicida fue observada en EHA-Gu con un 96.78 % de IEH a 6.25 mg/ml y 57.2 % de mortalidad larval a 75 mg/ml. Seguido de EHA-Ba mostrando 90 % IEH a 6.25 mg/ml y un 58.0 % de mortalidad larval a 75 mg/ml. Las CL50 y CL90 del EHA-Gu sobre la IEH fueron 2.7 y 4.4 mg/ml, respectivamente. Mientras que las CL´s de este mismo extracto sobre larvas fue de CL50=64 y CL90=125 mg/ml. El análisis fitoquímico indica que todos los extractos contienen taninos, cumarinas, flavonoides y terpenos. Las especies forrajeras G. ulmifolia y E. americana podrían ser plantas candidatas para el control de H. contortus.

Resumen Introducción. La producción de frijol está limitada por la disponibilidad de nitrógeno en el suelo y su baja eficiencia en la fijación biológica de este elemento. La aplicación de un bioestimulante a base de oligogalacturónidos (Pectimorf®) se considera una alternativa para mejorar la nutrición nitrogenada en etapas tempranas del crecimiento, pero se desconoce la efectividad de este producto en etapas posteriores del cultivo. Objetivo. Determinar el efecto de Pectimorf® en indicadores relacionados con la fijación biológica del nitrógeno y en el crecimiento de plantas de frijol común biofertilizadas con Azofert®-F en la etapa de crecimiento R5 (prefloración). Materiales y métodos. La investigación se realizó en el Centro de Ciencias Genómicas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (octubre 2018-marzo 2019) y en el Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Agrícolas en Cuba (noviembre-diciembre 2019). Se realizaron experimentos en condiciones controladas y semicontroladas, en los que se evaluó la aplicación de 10 mg L-1 de Pectimorf® a las semillas junto con Azofert®-F y la aspersión foliar a 5 y 100 mg L-1 en plantas biofertilizadas. Como control se tomaron plantas que solo se trataron con Azofert®-F. Se evaluó la nodulación, indicadores de la fijación biológica del nitrógeno y el crecimiento de las plantas. Resultados. En condiciones controladas, el Pectimorf® estimuló la nodulación, el desarrollo radical e incrementó la actividad nitrogenasa. En los experimentos en condiciones semicontroladas favoreció la nodulación y el crecimiento, destacándose el tratamiento a las semillas y la aspersión foliar (100 mg L-1). El Pectimorf® también aumentó la síntesis de ureidos en los nódulos y el contenido de nitrógeno en las hojas. Este producto mostró más de un 15 % de efectividad con relación a la biofertilización. Conclusiones. La aplicación de Pectimorf® mejoró la fijación biológica del nitrógeno y el crecimiento en la prefloración del frijol común.

Abstract Introduction. Bean production is limited by the availability of nitrogen in the soil and its low efficiency in biological nitrogen fixation. The application of a bio-stimulant based on oligogalacturonides (Pectimorf®) is considered an alternative to improve nitrogen nutrition in early stages of growth, but its effectiveness in later stages of cultivation is unknown. Objective. To determine the effect of Pectimorf® on indicators related to biological nitrogen fixation and the growth of common bean plants bio-fertilized with Azofert®-F during the R5 growth stage (pre-flowering). Materials and methods. The research was carried out at the Genomic Sciences Center of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (October 2018-March 2019) and at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Agrícolas en Cuba (November-December 2019). Experiments were carried out under controlled and semi-controlled conditions, evaluating the application of 10 mg L-1 of Pectimorf® to seeds along with Azofert®-F and foliar spraying at 5 and 100 mg L-1 on bio-fertilized plants. Plants treated only with Azofert® were used as a control. Nodulation, indicators of biological nitrogen fixation, and plant growth were evaluated. Results. Under controlled conditions, Pectimorf® stimulated nodulation, root development, and increased nitrogenase activity. In the semi-controlled conditions, it favored nodulation and growth, with the seed treatment and foliar spraying (100 mg L-1) standing out. Pectimorf® also increased the ureides synthesis in the nodules and the nitrogen content in the leaves. This product showed more than a 15 % effectiveness in relation to bio-fertilization. Conclusions. The application of Pectimorf® improved biological nitrogen fixation and growth during pre-flowering stage of common bean.

RESUMEN Introducción: El traumatismo craneoencefálico en edades pediátricas constituye un problema de salud relevante a nivel mundial y en Cuba. Objetivo: Determinar los factores pronósticos del trauma craneoencefálico grave en niños que requirieron craneotomía descompresiva. Métodos: Se realizó un estudio transversal correlacional, de tipo serie de casos, en el Servicio de Neurocirugía del Hospital Pediátrico de Camagüey durante el período comprendido desde enero de 2019 a diciembre de 2021. Fueron estudiados un total de 27 niños con traumatismo craneoencefálico grave, que cumplieron con los criterios de selección de la investigación. Las variables analizadas incluyeron: grupo etario, sexo, intensidad de la lesión, técnica quirúrgica, perfusión cerebral y resultados quirúrgicos obtenidos. Resultados: Predominó el grupo etario de 11-18 años (45,5 %) y el sexo masculino (72,7 %). El mayor puntaje en la variable intensidad de la lesión correspondió con la realización de craneotomías bilaterales (media = 78,63). Se halló disminución significativa (p = 0,024) de la perfusión cerebral en los pacientes con edad menor o igual a 8 años (media = 61,6387) y se encontró más disminuida en los pacientes que requirieron craneotomía bilateral (p = 0,001). Los peores resultados obtenidos correspondieron a los pacientes con edad biológica igual o menor a 8 años, que requirieron craneotomía bilateral. Conclusiones: La edad menor a 8 años se relacionó con mayor deterioro de la perfusión cerebral y peores resultados. La necesidad de craneotomías bilaterales se asoció con mayor intensidad de la lesión encefálica, presión intracraneal preoperatoria más elevada y deterioro de la perfusión cerebral.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Cranioencephalic trauma in pediatric ages is a relevant health problem worldwide and in Cuba. Objective: To determine the prognostic factors of severe cranioencephalic trauma in children who required decompressive craniotomy. Methods: A cross-sectional and correlational study of case series type was carried out at the neurosurgery service of Hospital Pediátrico de Camagüey during the period from January 2019 to December 2021. A total of 27 children with severe cranioencephalic trauma who met the research selection criteria were studied. The analyzed variables included age group, sex, injury intensity, surgical technique, cerebral perfusion and obtained surgical outcomes. Results: The age group 11-18 years (45.5 %) and male sex (72.7 %) predominated. The highest score in the variable injury intensity corresponded to the realization of bilateral craniotomies (mean = 78.63). A significant decrease (p = 0.024) in cerebral perfusion was found in patients aged 8 years or under (mean = 61.6387) and it was found to be more diminished in patients who required bilateral craniotomy (p = 0.001). The worst obtained outcomes corresponded to patients with a biological age of 8 years or under, who required bilateral craniotomy. Conclusions: Age under 8 years was associated with greater cerebral perfusion impairment and worse outcomes. The need for bilateral craniotomies was associated with greater intensity of the encephalic injury, higher preoperative intracranial pressure and cerebral perfusion impairment.

Resumen La adquisición de alguna Infección de Transmisión Sexual (ITS) y los embarazos no planificados son riesgos a los que se enfrentan los jóvenes ante la decisión de no usar condón al tener relaciones sexuales. La aproximación del balance decisional enfatiza qué costos y beneficios están asociados a la conducta sexual de riesgo. Las decisiones acerca del uso del condón son un precursor de la conducta y este proceso puede estar influido por los beneficios que se perciban sobre él. El objetivo de la presente investigación es identificar la relación de las ganancias y pérdidas del uso del condón con la conducta sexual de riesgo. Se evaluó la conducta sexual de riesgo y el uso del condón masculino en sus relaciones sexuales. Se midieron las ganancias y las pérdidas del condón con una escala de medición, en una muestra de 257 universitarios, con una edad entre 18 y 39 años (. = 22.34; DE = 3.6) de Querétaro, México. La evaluación del balance decisional indica que las ganancias son mayores que las pérdidas (costos) del uso consistente del condón en las relaciones sexuales. Se encontraron asociaciones entre las ganancias y las pérdidas con indicadores de la conducta sexual de riesgo. Se observa que los universitarios que no utilizan condón manifiestan mayores pérdidas por utilizarlo. En las ganancias, se aprecia un aumento en las puntuaciones cuando se usa condón. Lo encontrado provee apoyo para el desarrollo de intervenciones que promuevan las ganancias o beneficios para incrementar el uso consistente del condón.

Abstract The acquisition of a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) and unplanned pregnancies are risks that young people deal when deciding not to use a condom when having sexual intercourse. During the decision-making process, individuals value the benefits (gains) and losses (costs) associated with a behavior. Cost-benefit analysis has been investigated to examine the differential impact of gains and losses on risky behaviours. The decisional balance approach emphasizes that costs and benefits are associated with risky sexual behavior. Decisions about condom use are a precursor to behavior, and this process may be influenced by perceived benefits. In the present study, it is proposed that the balance between the benefit and the loss of condom use contributes to consistent condom use. These factors as determinants of behaviour must be considered under the cultural context in which they are carried out. The objective of this research is to identify the relationship of gains and losses from condom use with risky sexual behaviour. It was hypothesized that: 1) Young people will evaluate the benefits (gains) with higher scores compared to the losses (costs) in deciding to use a condom in sexual intercourse. 2) The gains will be greater in those college students who use a condom more frequently and the losses will not be the same among those who use a condom. To evaluate risky sexual behavior and the use of the male condom in their sexual relations were considered. Condom gains and losses were measured with a measurement scale in a sample of 257 university students, aged between 18 and 39 years (. = 22.34; SD = 3.6) from Querétaro, México. With reference to sexual behavior, it was found that 89.1 % have started their sexual activity. The average age of initiation of sexual life is 15.41 years. The frequency of sexual activity is once or twice each month. The mean of sexual partners is 4.2, with a median of 3. The 68.5 % reported using some contraceptive method and regarding the use of condoms, 27.8 % always use it and 5.7 % never use it. To evaluate the decisional balance, subtracting the gain and loss factors created a net difference score. The gain factor was subtracted from its counterpart of the loss factor to indicate the preference for having sex with a condom. The decisional balance assessment indicates that the gains are greater than the losses (costs) of consistent condom use in sexual intercourse. Associations were found between gains and losses with indicators of risky sexual behavior. It is observed that university students who do not use a condom show greater losses from using it. In gains, there is an increase in scores when using a condom. Additionally, it is observed that university students, who sometimes use a condom, show greater losses for using it, unlike those who always use it, which show low scores in the losses of using it. In gains factor, there is an increase in the scores when using a condom, that is, those who never or almost never use a condom have the lowest scores and as the scores increase, the frequency of using a condom in their sexual relations also increases. In conclusion, gains and losses from male condom use are associated with risky sexual behavior (age of sexual activity, number of partners and condom use) in the university context. The findings provide support for the development of interventions that promote gains or benefits to increase consistent condom use. It is important to consider in specific interventions those young people who decide to continue having sex without using a condom despite the costs and possible consequences of not using it.

ABSTRACT Football is a sport that involves a combination of continuous and intermittent effort. Therefore, players need to be able to recover quickly between moments of high intensity to continue to perform at a high level of output throughout the entire match. The present study aimed to evaluate the effect of an intermittent exercise protocol on the rate of high-intensive force production through the countermovement test (CMJ) in elite Portuguese female soccer players. The sample consisted of 12 players from the first division of women's football in Portugal (Age= 18.1± 0.9 years; Weight= 60.10± 5.8 Kg; Height= 1.63± 4.8 cm; BMI= 22.48± 1.5 kg/m2). The players performed an intermittent exercise protocol on a cycle ergometer, lasting 8 minutes, in which each minute corresponded to 40 seconds of high-intensity (4 W/kg, based on the player's body weight) and 20 seconds of low-intensity (75W). Before and after the protocol, the players performed the CMJ. Through the results obtained, it was possible to observe that players presented a significant decrease in the height of the CMJ between the two moments (before- 29.92± 3.55 cm vs after- 26.92± 4.05 cm; p < .01). The present study allowed us to conclude that intermittent exercise protocol promoted a negative influence on CMJ performance.

Abstract Mexico is identified as the center of origin of maize. In addition, there is a solid local ethnological knowledge about its cultivation, climate, and cosmogony. This research aims were: 1) to integrate and capitalize on the farmers’ knowledge in the Upper Lerma River Basin and 2) to identify triggers for local sustainability. Through ethnoecological interviews and the Delphi method, a conceptual model of rainfed maize cultivation was built, based on four dimensions: maize, agricultural work, climate-environment, and religion-cosmogony. Climate variability, generational change and industrialization could be a challenge for peasants if their ethnoecological knowledge is not exploited.

Resumen México es identificado como centro de origen del maíz; a ello se agrega un sólido conocimiento etnoecológico local sobre su cultivo, clima y cosmogonía. Esta investigación plantea: 1) integrar y capitalizar el conocimiento del campesino en la Cuenca Alta del Río Lerma y 2) identificar detonadores de sostenibilidad local. Mediante entrevistas etnoecológicas y el método Delphi se construyó un modelo conceptual del cultivo de maíz de temporal, basado en cuatro dimensiones: maíz, labores agrícolas, clima-ambiente y religión-cosmogonía. La variabilidad climática, el cambio generacional y la industrialización podrían ser un desafío para los campesinos si no se capitaliza su conocimiento etnoecológico.

Abstract Objective: Identify the level of knowledge about Bioethics in the health care workers in a third level hospital, so that the bioethical dilemmas turn to the Hospital Committee of Bioethics. Materials and Methods A descriptive, cross-sectional and prospective study was conducted. By means of a probabilistic sampling by strata, the sample size was calculated for a finite population n = 302 with a 95% confidence level, a visit to the areas was made in shifts, a questionnaire obtained from 2 questionnaires validated by Lynch et al., and Hernández et al. was applied. Within the ethical considerations, a prior informed consent was applied to answer the questionnaire. A descriptive statistical analysis was performed. Results: The bioethical principles that the questionnaire reviews are autonomy which was correctly identified in 17.2%, justice in 10.3%and charity in 14.6%. With respect to the level of knowledge, a 2% high knowledge, 33% regular knowledge, 33% knowledge low and 32% of null knowledge was found. Conclusions: Ethical dilemmas are presented every day, identifying properly by health care workers and channeling them to the Bioethics Hospital Committee would be the ideal of every hospital that would allow us to properly contribute toa better decision -making in patient care.

Resumen Objetivo: Identificar el nivel de conocimiento sobre bioética en el personal salud que labora en un hospital de tercer nivel de atención, para que los dilemas bioéticos se turnen al Comité Hospitalario de Bioética. Materiales y Métodos: Se realizó un estudio descriptivo, transversal y prospectivo. Mediante un muestreo probabilístico por estratos, se calculó el tamaño de muestra para una población finita n=302 con un 95% de nivel de confianza, se realizó una visita a las áreas por turnos, se aplicó un cuestionario obtenido de 2 cuestionarios validados por Lynch y cols, y Hernández y cols. Dentro de las consideraciones éticas se aplicó un consentimiento informado previo a contestar el cuestionario. Se realizó un análisis estadístico descriptivo. Resultados: Los principios bioéticos que revisa el cuestionario son: Autonomía la cual fue identificada de manera correcta en 17.2%, Justicia en 10.3% y Los principios bioéticos que revisa el cuestionario son: Autonomía la cual fue identificada de manera correcta en 17.2%, Justicia en 10.3% y Beneficencia en 14.6%. Con respecto al nivel de conocimiento se encontró un2% de conocimiento alto, 33% de conocimiento regular, 33% de conocimiento bajo y 32% de conocimiento nulo. Conclusiones: Todos los días se presentan dilemas éticos, el identificarse de manera adecuada por el personal de salud y canalizarlos al Comité Hospitalario de Bioética sería el ideal de todo hospital que permitiría coadyuvar de manera adecuada en una mejor toma de decisiones en la atención al paciente.

Resumen: el estudio de la eco-innovación es un campo de relevancia ascendente en el ámbito científico, y ha sido objeto de análisis exhaustivos desde distintas perspectivas teóricas y metodológicas. La diversidad de estos enfoques evidencia la amplia y compleja naturaleza del constructo en un intento de comprender sus efectos y contribuciones ante las problemáticas ambientales complejas con las que se enfrentan los destinos turísticos. En ese sentido, el objetivo de esta investigación es analizar la influencia de la eco-innovación sobre la sustentabilidad del sector hotelero de Nuevo Nayarit, México. Para lograrlo se utilizó una metodología con enfoque cuantitativo, de corte transversal y de alcance explicativo, con una participación de 226 trabajadores de la hotelería en una muestra por conveniencia. Para probar la hipótesis de investigación se utilizó un modelo de ecuaciones estructurales por mínimos cuadrados parciales (PLS-SEM). Los resultados comprueban que la eco-innovación tiene una influencia significativa y positiva sobre la sustentabilidad del sector, donde las buenas prácticas de operación junto a la gestión ambiental son los aspectos de mayor poder explicativo y predictivo. Este trabajo contribuye al conocimiento del turismo en su relación con las ciencias ambientales y la gestión empresarial, evidenciando la realidad en un destino turístico internacional sobre un tema de carácter emergente. Como futuras líneas de investigación se propone ajustar el estudio a una muestra mayor y considerar aspectos específicos de la política turística y ambiental.

Abstract: the study of eco-innovation is a field of growing relevance in the scientific field, has been the subject of exhaustive analyses from different theoretical and methodological perspectives. The diversity of these approaches demonstrates the vast and complex nature of the construct in an attempt to understand its effects and contributions to the complex environmental problems faced by tourist destinations. In this sense, this research aims to analyse the influence of eco-innovation on the sustainability of the hotel sector in Nuevo Nayarit, Mexico. To achieve this, a quantitative, cross-sectional, and explanatory methodology was used, with the participation of 226 hotel workers in a convenience sample. A partial least squares structural equation model (PLS-SEM) was used to test the research hypothesis. The results show that eco-innovation has a significant and positive influence on the sustainability of the sector, where good operating practices and environmental management are the most explanatory and predictive aspects. This work contributes to the knowledge of tourism in its relationship with environmental sciences and business management, showing the reality of an international tourist destination on an emerging issue. As future lines of research, it is proposed that the study be adjusted to a larger sample of tourists.

Resumen La plasticidad fenotípica es una propiedad que tiene el cultivo de frijol, como respuesta a estímulos ambientales incluida la fertilización nitrogenada. Esta planta es endémica de México y existen múltiples variantes genéticas, las cuales se adaptan a los diferentes climas y microclimas del país. Respecto al Valle de Tehuacán, Puebla, es considerado el centro de origen de la agricultura en Mesoamérica, porque en él se datan los restos más antiguos de maíz y frijol. Así el objetivo fue: evaluar la plasticidad fenotípica de un frijol de los Valles Centrales de Oaxaca, cuando es sembrado en el Valle de Tehuacán Puebla. La investigación se llevó a cabo bajo condiciones de campo en Tehuacán, Puebla. El germoplasma fue el cultivar. Rocha, que corresponde a un frijol de semilla negra y crecimiento indeterminado. Los tratamientos consistieron en cuatro niveles de nitrógeno 0; 50; 100 y 150 kg ha-1 y cuatro repeticiones, que se evaluaron bajo un diseño de bloques completos al azar. Las variables de respuesta fueron: unidades SPAD, rendimiento de semilla, biomasa seca total, índice de cosecha, unidades calor, evapotranspiración e incidencia de la bacteriosis del frijol. Los resultados indican que el mayor rendimiento agronómico fue en los tratamientos T2 y T1 con: 8.74 y 7.09 g planta-1, mientras que el rendimiento biológico mayor fue 22.15 g planta-1, para el tratamiento T2. La integral térmica fue 1 322 UC, mientras que la evapotranspiración total fue 217.94 mm. Así la mayor incidencia del tizón ocurrió en el testigo con 1.23%. Se concluye, que el cv. Rocha puede ser una alternativa de producción en el Valle de Tehuacán.

Abstract Phenotypic plasticity is a property of bean crops in response to environmental stimuli, including nitrogen fertilization. This plant is endemic to Mexico and there are multiple genetic variants, which adapt to the different climates and microclimates of the country. Regarding the Valley of Tehuacán, Puebla, it is considered the center of origin of agriculture in Mesoamerica, because the oldest remains of corn and beans are dated there. Thus, the objective was: to evaluate the phenotypic plasticity of a bean from the Central Valleys of Oaxaca when sown in the Valley of Tehuacán, Puebla. The research was conducted under field conditions in Tehuacán, Puebla. The germplasm was the cultivar Rocha, which corresponds to a bean with black seeds and indeterminate growth. The treatments consisted of four levels of nitrogen 0; 50; 100 and 150 kg ha-1 and four repetitions, which were evaluated under a randomized complete block design. The response variables were: SPAD units, seed yield, total dry biomass, harvest index, heat units, evapotranspiration and incidence of bean bacterial blight. The results indicate that the highest agronomic yield was in treatments T2 and T1 with 8.74 and 7.09 g plant-1, while the highest biological yield was 22.15 g plant-1, for the treatment T2. The thermal integral was 1 322 HU, while the total evapotranspiration was 217.94 mm. Thus, the highest incidence of blight occurred in the control with 1.23%. It is concluded that the cv. Rocha can be a production alternative in the Valley of Tehuacán.

ABSTRACT: University teaching work, whose goal is to contribute to society with high-quality professionals, requires a training process in which learning with effectiveness and autonomy is a central axis in any educational process. What seems like a natural goal to achieve does not always occur spontaneously and successfully. For this reason, teacher training is an opportunity to mediate our students, following intentionally and meaningfully inclusive teaching to promote autonomy in university classes. This paper presents the meaning of mediating teaching from the self-regulation of learning perspective, its relevance, implications, and challenges for autonomous and inclusive learning in university practices. Moreover, we address the importance of promoting an effective involvement of teachers in teaching strategies of self-regulation of learning to their students, which will be helpful to their lives beyond the university classrooms.

RESUMEN: El trabajo docente universitario, cuya meta es contribuir a la sociedad con profesionales de alta calidad, requiere de un proceso formador en que el aprender con efectividad y autonomía es un eje central en todo proceso educativo. Lo que parece una meta natural a alcanzar, no siempre se produce espontáneamente y de manera exitosa. Por ello, el acompañamiento docente es una oportunidad para mediar a la comunidad estudiantil intencionado una docencia inclusiva de manera significativa que aspira a promover el proceso de autonomía desde el aula universitaria. En este artículo presentamos el significado de la docencia mediadora desde la autorregulación del aprendizaje, su relevancia, implicaciones y desafíos para el aprendizaje autónomo e inclusivo en la práctica educativa universitaria y la importancia de promover una implicación efectiva de los docentes en la enseñanza de estrategias de autorregulación del aprendizaje a sus estudiantes, las cuales trascenderán las aulas universitarias proyectándose hacia la propia vida.

Abstract Objectives The present study aimed to evaluate the measurement invariance of a general measure of the perception of governmental responses to COVID-|19 (COVID-SCORE-10) in the general population of 13 Latin American countries. Methods A total of 5780 individuals from 13 Latin American and Caribbean countries selected by non-probabilistic snowball sampling participated. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed and the alignment method was used to evaluate invariance. Additionally, a graded response model was used for the assessment of item characteristics. Results The results indicate that there is approximate measurement invariance of the COVID-SCORE-10 among the participating countries. Furthermore, IRT results suggest that the COVID-SCORE-10 measures with good psychometric ability a broad spectrum of the construct assessed, especially around average levels. Comparison of COVID-SCORE-10 scores indicated that participants from Cuba, Uruguay and El Salvador had the most positive perceptions of government actions to address the pandemic. Thus, the underlying construct of perception of government actions was equivalent in all countries. Conclusion The results show the importance of initially establishing the fundamental measurement properties and MI before inferring the cross-cultural universality of the construct to be measured.

Abstract This paper studies a shelter network for Jewish scientists displaced by nazism from the archive of Alexander Lipschütz, a physiologist who lived in Chile since 1926. From the context of the anti-Semitic persecution and the way in which it affected German science and their universities, we have analyzed letters sent to and from Lipschütz between 1935 and 1936, with special attention to people who contacted him to flee Germany and considered Latin America as a possibility to live. We suggest this was a network of personal agencies, charged with subjectivities and intimacy, which had to take into account local anti-Semitism and academic xenophobia.

Resumen Este trabajo estudia una red de acogida para científicos judíos desplazados por el nazismo a partir del archivo de Alejandro Lipschütz, fisiólogo que vivió en Chile desde 1926. A partir del contexto de la persecución antisemita y la forma en que afectó a la ciencia y a la universidad alemanas se analizan las cartas remitidas hacia y desde Lipschütz entre 1935 y 1936, con especial atención a personas que lo contactaron para huir de Alemania y que veían en América Latina una posibilidad. Proponemos que se trata de una red de agencias personales, cargada de subjetividades e intimidad, que debía tener en cuenta el antisemitismo y la xenofobia académica local.

ABSTRACT Introduction: The knee is the anatomical region where the largest number of benign and malignant tumors that affect the human skeleton settle, among them is the giant cell tumor. Objective: To present a patient with a giant cell tumor that underwent malignant transformation. Clinical case: A 28-year-old white male with no morbid health history, who attended the Orthopedics and Traumatology outpatient clinic for presenting a tumor accompanied by pain at the level of the right knee. It appeared two years ago, but has increased in size rapidly in the last two months. Imaging tests were performed using plain radiography, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging, as well as incisional biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. After analyzing the results of the previous examinations, the multidisciplinary team decided to amputate the limb. Conclusions: The giant cell tumor is an entity that occurs most frequently from the third to fifth decades of life; its main complications are recurrence, lung metastases and malignant transformation. In general, patients with this last complication need procedures such as amputation of the limb.

RESUMEN Introducción: La rodilla es la región anatómica donde asientan la mayor cantidad de tumores benignos y malignos que afectan el esqueleto humano, entre ellos se encuentra el tumor de células gigantes. Objetivo: Conocer un paciente con un tumor de células gigantes que sufrió transformación maligna. Caso clínico: Paciente, masculino de 28 años de edad, blanco sin antecedentes mórbidos de salud, que acudió a la consulta externa de la especialidad de Ortopedia y Traumatología por presentar desde hace dos años una tumoración dolorosa a nivel de la rodilla que en los últimos dos meses ha aumentado de tamaño. Se realizaron exámenes imagenológicos mediante radiografía simple, tomografía axial computarizada e imagen de resonancia magnética, además de toma de biopsia incisional para confirmar el diagnóstico. Al analizar los resultados de los exámenes anteriores el equipo multidisciplinario decidió la amputación de la extremidad. Conclusiones: El tumor de células gigantes es una enfermedad que se presenta con mayor frecuencia desde la tercera a quinta décadas de la vida, sus complicaciones principales son la recidiva, las metástasis pulmonares y la transformación maligna. Por lo general, los enfermos con esta última complicación necesitan de procedimientos como la amputación de la extremidad.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Infections of the bone tissue by pathogenic germs by hematogenous route are frequent in the child in the metaphyseal zones and in the spine in the adult. Objective: To present an adult patient with osteomyelitis of the femur by hematogenous route. Clinical case: A 38-year-old white female patient with no known morbidity, clinical record 253853, named MRA, who went to the Orthopedics and Traumatology clinic for reporting severe pain at the level of the right thigh that did not respond to treatment with ambulatory pain relievers. Physical examination revealed a slight increase in volume at the level of the distal thigh. On palpation, skin hyperesthesia was detected, especially towards the lateral aspect of the knee. A computed tomography scan detected an osteolytic lesion at the distal diaphysis of the right femur with the presence of hyperdensity with bone density. Taking all the above elements into account, it was decided to take the patient to the operating room for surgical treatment, where a lateral surgical incision was made in the distal area of the right thigh, surgical plans were performed, and an eight millimeters trocar bone puncture was used to open the bone where thick pus was observed. Conclusions: Hematogenous osteomyelitis is a typical entity of the patient with open epiphyses and in the adult spine. Invasion of bone tissue by the hematogenous route in adults other than in the spine is very rare.

RESUMEN Introducción: Las infecciones del tejido óseo por gérmenes patógenos por la vía hematógena son frecuentes en el niño en las zonas metafisarias y columna vertebral en el adulto. Objetivo: Presentar el caso de una paciente adulta con osteomielitis del fémur por vía hematógena. Caso clínico: Paciente de 38 años de edad, blanca, femenina sin comorbilidad conocida, la cual acude a la consulta de Ortopedia y Traumatología por referir dolor intenso a nivel del muslo derecho que no remite al tratamiento ambulatorio con analgésicos. Mediante la exploración física se observó ligero aumento de volumen a nivel del muslo distal. A la palpación se detectó hiperestesia cutánea en especial hacia la cara lateral. La tomografía axial computarizada detectó a nivel de la diáfisis distal del fémur derecho, lesión osteolítica con presencia de una hiperdensidad en su interior con densidad ósea. Al tener en cuenta todos los elementos anteriores, se decide llevar la paciente al quirófano, para tratamiento de tipo quirúrgico, donde se realizó incisión quirúrgica lateral en la zona distal del muslo derecho, se avanzó por planos quirúrgicos y se realizó punción ósea con trocar de ocho milímetros donde se observó salida de pus espeso. Conclusiones: La osteomielitis hematógena es una enfermedad típica del paciente con epífisis abiertas y en la columna vertebral del adulto. La invasión al tejido óseo por la vía hematógena en el adulto que no sea en la columna es muy infrecuente.

Resumo As práticas de laboratório têm sido reconhecidas como uma ferramenta metodológica e didática na formação científica dos alunos. Os professores de ciências naturais costumam integrar as práticas de laboratório em um modelo didático adaptado às particularidades do contexto, aos recursos disponíveis e às necessidades de formação dos alunos. Este artigo apresenta os resultados de um estudo realizado com 35 professores de ciências naturais, dos quais 24 são graduados de uma faculdade de educação (professores em serviço) que atuam no ensino fundamental e médio; enquanto os 11 professores restantes tratam da formação inicial de professores (professores formadores), com o objetivo de identificar as representações sociais dos professores sobre as práticas experimentais na formação inicial de professores, a partir das suas opiniões. Como resultado, verifica-se que os professores (formadores e em serviço) valorizam as práticas laboratoriais como estratégia na formação científica dos alunos; no entanto, os professores em serviço sentem-se insatisfeitos pela falta de correspondência entre a formação recebida e as possibilidades de replicá-la com seus alunos. Esse resultado mostra a necessidade de abordar a formação epistemológica com professores em formação sobre os significados das práticas de laboratório no contexto universitário e no contexto escolar.

Resumen Las prácticas de laboratorio han sido reconocidas como una herramienta metodológica y didáctica en la formación científica de los estudiantes. Los profesores de ciencias naturales suelen integrar las prácticas de laboratorio a un modelo didáctico adaptado a las particularidades del contexto, a los recursos disponibles y a las necesidades formativas de los estudiantes. En este artículo se presentan los resultados de un estudio realizado con 35 profesores de ciencias naturales, de los cuales 24 son egresados de una facultad de educación (docentes en servicio) que se desempeñan en la educación básica y media; mientras que los 11 docentes restantes se ocupan de la formación inicial de profesores (docentes formadores), con el objetivo de identificar las representaciones sociales de las prácticas experimentales en la formación docente inicial, a partir de sus opiniones. Como resultados se encuentra que los docentes (formadores y en servicio) dan un importante valor a las prácticas de laboratorio como una estrategia en la formación científica de los estudiantes; no obstante, los docentes en servicio sienten insatisfacción por la no correspondencia entre la formación recibida y las posibilidades de replicarla con sus estudiantes. Este resultado muestra la necesidad de abordar la formación epistemológica con los docentes en formación, sobre los sentidos de las prácticas de laboratorio en el contexto universitario y en el contexto escolar.

Abstract Laboratory practices have been recognized as a methodological and didactic tool in the scientific training of students. Teachers of natural sciences usually integrate laboratory practices into a didactic model that is adapted to the particularities of the context, available resources and the training needs of students. This article presents the results of a study carried out with 35 natural science teachers, of which 24 are graduates of an education faculty (teachers in service), who work in basic and secondary education, and the remaining 11 teachers, deal with the initial training of teachers (teacher trainers), to identify social representations of teachers on experimental practices in initial teacher training, based on their opinions. As a result, it is found that teachers (trainers and in-service) give an important value to laboratory practices as a strategy in the scientific training of students, however, in-service teachers feel dissatisfaction due to the lack of correspondence between the training received and the possibilities of replicating it with your students. This result shows the need to address epistemological training with teachers in training on the meanings of laboratory practices, in the university context and the school context.
