Resumo: Evidenciando o conceito de trabalho como categoria ontológica do ser social, e a importância da mediação, necessária à humanização, o presente artigo se caracteriza como ensaio teórico e se propõe a apresentar interlocuções entre a Pedagogia Histórico-Crítica e a Psicologia Histórico-Cultural como fundamentos para o Ensino de Ciências, importantes à objetivação da atividade docente comprometida com o desenvolvimento humano dos estudantes em formação. Partimos do pressuposto de que a função social da educação escolar se concentra na socialização dos conhecimentos clássicos produzidos pela humanidade, sem desconsiderar, no entanto, a qual papel esta serve historicamente para, então, evidenciar a importância do ensino de Ciências que supere as perspectivas naturalizantes de desenvolvimento que o desvinculam da totalidade social, apresentando-o na dialética singular-particular-universal.

Abstract: By presenting the concept of work as an ontological category of the social being and the importance of mediation as a necessary activity for humanization, this article is characterized as a theoretical essay and aims to present links between Historical-Critical Pedagogy and Historical-Cultural Psychology as the foundations for science education, which is required for teaching committed to the humanistic development of students. We assume that the social function of school education concentrates on the socialization of the classical knowledge produced by humankind, without neglecting, however, which role it has been serving historically to highlight the importance of science education that surpasses the naturalizing perspectives of development which detach from the social totality, presenting it in the singular-particular-universal dialectics.
