ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: A bibliometric analysis covering only the production of original studies or considering world production until 2022 has yet to be conducted. The creation and advancement of vaccines have also influenced research priorities, demonstrating the need for a new approach to this subject. OBJECTIVES: To analyze worldwide scientific production related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the aged and to describe what has already been produced. DESIGN AND SETTING: Bibliometric analysis with a quantitative approach. METHOD: The search terms “COVID-19,” “SARS-CoV-2,” “Aged,” and “Elderly” were used to retrieve articles from the Web of Science database. A total of 684 articles were included in the analysis. Data were imported into RStudio Desktop Software and linked to R Software. The Bibliometrix R package and VOSviewer software were used for analysis. RESULTS: Most articles were published in 2020. These were produced by 4,937 authors and published in 379 journals. The keyword most used by the authors was “COVID-19.” Publications from 77 countries were obtained. China had the highest article production ranking, and Spain collaborated the most. The articles addressed the implications of the pandemic on the aged, the relationship between vaccination in the aged, and the implications for the disease itself. CONCLUSION: Further research should be conducted, mainly concerning vaccines and vaccination of the aged, owing to the need for and importance of immunization in this risk group, including assessing the long-term effects of vaccines.

ABSTRACT: This study described the pathological aspects of a metastatic grade II simple tubulopapillary mammary carcinoma in a free-living senile female maned wolf (Chrysocyon brachyurus). The diagnosis was based on histopathological findings of malignant epithelial cells arranged in tubular and papillary patterns, with marked anisocytosis and anisokaryosis and metastases to regional lymph nodes, lungs, parietal pleura, and pericardium. Also associated to positive immunolabeling of neoplastic cells for Cytokeratin AE1/AE3 and negative for P63, Calponin and Cox-2, added to the cell proliferation index of 26.8%. The findings demonstrated that free-ranging wild canids develop mammary neoplasms similar to those observed in domestic canids.

RESUMO: Este estudo descreve os aspectos patológicos de um carcinoma mamário simples túbulo-papilar metastático grau II em um lobo-guará, fêmea, senil de vida livre. O diagnóstico foi baseado nos achados histopatológicos de células malignas epiteliais arranjadas em um padrão tubular e papilar, com acentuada anisocitose e anisocariose e metástases para os linfonodos regionais, pulmão, pleura parietal e pericárdio. Também associado a marcação imuno-histoquímica positiva das células neoplásicas para Citoqueratina AE1/AE3 e negativas para P63, Calponina e Cox-2, somado ao índice de proliferação celular de 26,8%. Os achados demonstram que canídeos silvestres de vida livre podem desenvolver neoplasias mamárias similares às observadas em canídeos domésticos.

Abstract The effects of melatonin application by itself and mixed with sucrose solution on vase life and physicochemical changes in amaryllis cut flowers were investigated. Amaryllis stems with flower buds at harvest points were placed into vases containing different maintenance solutions: Melatonin (Mt; 0.01 mM), Sucrose (Suc; 4%), Melatonin + Sucrose (Mt + Suc; 0.01 mM + 4%) and distilled water (Control). Each treatment consisted of five repetitions, with one inflorescence stem per vase. The vases remained at 22 ± 3 °C and constant lighting of 13 µmol m-2 s-1 for 14 days. Immersion of stems in Suc or Mt + Suc delayed the initial senescence processes of the amaryllis cut flower. Vase life was prolonged for additional 2 days compared to stems immersed in water (control), increasing from 10 to 12 days of conservation. Floral stem mass was kept more stable; the degradation of anthocyanin and flavonoid pigments was delayed; and the stability of phenolic compounds and total carbohydrates was maintained for 14 days. These findings confirm the role of melatonin as a preservative in cut flowers. However, its preservative effect was potentialized by the addition of sucrose to the water of the amaryllis cut flowers. More work needs to be carried out to investigate the physiological mechanisms promoted by the interaction of melatonin and sucrose in the regulation of senescence in amaryllis cut flowers, including the analysis of gene expression and activity of the antioxidant system.

Resumo O presente trabalho investigou os efeitos da aplicação de melatonina individualmente e misturada com solução de sacarose na vida de vaso e nas alterações físico-químicas de flores de corte de amarílis. Hastes de amarilis com botões florais em pontos de colheita foram colocadas em vasos contendo diferentes soluções de manutenção: Melatonina (Mt; 0,01 mM), Sacarose (Suc; 4%), Melatonina + Sacarose (Mt + Suc; 0,01 mM + 4%) e Água destilada (Controle). Cada tratamento constou de 5 repetições, sendo uma haste de inflorescência por vaso. Os vasos permaneceram a 22 ± 3° C e iluminação constante de 13 µmol m-2.s-1 durante 14 dias. A imersão das hastes em Suc ou Mt + Suc retardou os processos iniciais de senescência de flor de corte de amarílis, prolongando por mais 2 dias sua vida de vaso, em relação às hastes sem uso desses conservantes (controle). Aumentando de 10 para 12 dias de conservação. Pois mantiveram mais estáveis a massa fresca, retardaram a degradação de pigmentos antocianinas e flavonoides, bem como, mantendo a estabilidade dos compostos fenólicos e carboidratos totais ao final de 14 dias. Esses achados confirmam o papel da melatonina como conservante de flores de corte. Todavia, o seu efeito conservante foi potencializado em amarílis, associado à sacarose. Mais trabalhos necessitam ser realizados para investigar mais profundamente quais mecanismos fisiológicos promovidos pela interação melatonina e sacarose na regulação da senescência das flores de amarilis cortadas, incluindo análise de expressão de genes e atividade do sistema antioxidante.

Resumen Introducción: Las lesiones resultantes de las cargas de trabajo psíquicas se expresan en el organismo por la ocurrencia de enfermedades profesionales; principalmente en trabajadores de la salud, quienes tienen vínculo directo con pacientes. Objetivo: Analizar la evidencia científica disponible en la literatura sobre el uso de recursos digitales para promover la salud mental de trabajadores de la salud, considerando a quienes tienen contacto directo con pacientes. Método: Se trata de un protocolo de revisión sistemática según el Manual Cochrane, donde se utilizará el anagrama PICOS para paciente, intervención, comparador, resultados y diseño de estudios en el desarrollo de la investigación. Se consultarán las siguientes plataformas: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, una base de datos producida por la American Psychological Association, la base de datos de Elsevier, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, que es la base de Clarivate Analytics. Resultados: Se presentarán de forma narrativa, con esquemas, tablas y gráficos. Conclusión: El protocolo de investigación garantiza el rigor metodológico del proceso de revisión. De esta forma, se espera encontrar evidencias de intervenciones a través de medios digitales que promuevan la salud mental de la persona trabajadora.

Resumo Introdução: Os agravos decorrentes das cargas psíquicas de trabalho são expressos no corpo do mesmo pela ocorrência de doenças ocupacionais, principalmente em trabalhadores da saúde, que estão diretamente ligados aos pacientes. Objetivo: Analisar as evidências científicas disponíveis na literatura, sobre o uso de recursos digitais na promoção da saúde mental de trabalhadores da saúde, os quais serão considerados neste estudo, todos aqueles que têm contato direto com pacientes. Método: Protocolo de revisão sistemática segundo o Manual Cochrane, onde utilizará o anagrama PICOS para Patient, Intervention, Comparator, Outcomes e Study design no desenvolvimento da pesquisa. Serão consultadas as plataformas: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, banco de dados produzido pela Associação Americana de Psicologia, banco de dados da Elsevier, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials e a base da Clarivate Analytics. Resultados: Serão apresentados em forma narrativa, com esquemas, tabelas e quadros. Conclusão: O protocolo de pesquisa garante o rigor metodológico do processo de revisão. Dessa forma espera-se encontrar evidências de intervenções por meios digitais que promovam a saúde mental do trabalhador.

Abstract Introduction: The human body expresses the injuries resulting from psychic workloads by the occupational diseases, mainly in health workers, who are directly linked to the patients. Objective: To analyze the scientific evidence available in the literature about the use of digital resources to promote the mental health of health workers who will be then considered for this study (all who had had direct contact with patients). Method: this is a systematic review protocol that follows the Cochrane manual and that will use the PICOS anagram for Patient, Intervention, Comparator, Outcomes and Study design during the development of the research. The following platforms will be consulted: Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online, Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature, Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences, a database produced by the American Psychological Association, Elsevier's database, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials (a foundation of Clarivate Analytics). Results: The results will be presented in narrative form, with graphs, tables and charts. Conclusion: The research protocol guarantees the methodological rigor of the review process. In this way, it is expected to find evidence of interventions through digital means that promote the mental health of the worker.

Resumo: O ensino e a aprendizagem da matemática relacionam-se a operações cognitivas específicas, que são um desafio no contexto da educação inclusiva. Este estudo objetivou analisar o processo de ensino-aprendizagem da Matemática de um aluno com autismo, a partir da intervenção colaborativa. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa que faz uso do método microgenético e da pesquisa-ação colaborativa-crítica. Foi realizada na rede regular de ensino e o aluno com autismo foi acompanhado semanalmente durante doze meses. Na coleta de dados, utilizou-se a observação participante, o trabalho colaborativo e o diário de campo para o registro. Os resultados apontam que com estratégias diferenciadas e mediação qualificada, independentemente do diagnóstico de autismo, o aluno pode construir estruturas novas, reorganizando o que já havia aprendi-do anteriormente; aprender conceitos matemático e desenvolver as funções mentais superiores. Por fim, a partir do trabalho colaborativo em sala de aula, foi possível elaborar um planejamento adequado para o aluno, com adequação de estratégias e metodologias, corroborando com sua inclusão escolar.

Abstract: Teaching and learning mathematics involve specific cognitive operations that are challenging in the context of inclusive education. This study aimed to analyze the mathematics teaching and learning process of a student with autism undergoing a collaborative intervention. This is a qualitative study that uses the microgenetic and the collaborative and critical action research methods. It was conducted within the regular school system, and the student with autism was followed up weekly for twelve months. Participant observation, collaborative work, and a field diary were used to collect and record data. The results show that, regardless of his diagnosis of autism, differentiated strategies and qualified mediation allow the student to build new structures, reorganizing the content he had previously learned; learn mathematical concepts; and develop higher mental functions. Finally, the collaborative work in the classroom allowed for the adequate planning of classes for the student and for the adaptation of strategies and methodologies, thus contributing to his inclusion in the school.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Urinary tract infections (UTI) are highly preventable and have significant clinical and financial impact on the patient and the health care system. OBJECTIVE: To investigate UTIs in critically ill adult patients and the relationship of antimicrobial consumption and multidrug-resistant isolate. DESIGN AND SETTING: A cohort study performed in a Brazilian tertiary-care university hospital in the city of Uberlandia (MG), located at the Federal University of Uberlandia, southeast region of the country. METHODS: We analyzed a cohort of 363 patients with first episode of UTIs from the adult intensive care unit (ICU), from January 2012 to December 2018. The daily doses of antimicrobial administered were calculated. RESULTS: The incidence rate of UTI was 7.2/1000 patient days, with 3.5/1000 patient-days of bacteriuria, and 2.1/1000 patient-days of candiduria. Of 373 microorganisms identified, 69 (18.4%) were Gram-positive cocci, 190 (50.9%) Gram-negative bacilli, and 114 yeasts (30.7%). Escherichia coli and Candida spp. were the most common. Patients with candiduria had higher comorbidity score (Charlson Comorbidity Index ≥ 3), longer length of stay (P = 0.0066), higher mortality (P = < 0.0001) severe sepsis, septic shock, and were immunocompromised when compared with patients with bacteriuria. We observed correlation between antibiotics consumption and multidrug-resistant (MDR) microorganisms. CONCLUSION: The UTIs incidence was high and was mainly caused by Gram-negative bacteria that were resistant to common antibiotics. We observed increase in the consumption of broad-spectrum antibiotics in ICU correlating with MDR microorganisms. In general, ICU-acquired candiduria may be associated with critical illness and poor prognosis.

ABSTRACT Objective: ssess quantitatively and qualitatively tongue coating microbiota in ICU patients. Methods: Analytical observational study, convenience sample comprising 65 patients was included for medical report analysis and collection of general data, tongue coating assessment through visual inspection and microbiological sample collection for further laboratory analysis. The collection was performed by a single examiner using a sterile swab introduced and rubbing the posterior portion of the tongue close to the oropharynx. Results: Most patients (60%) belonged to the female sex, at mean age of 74.2 years. The main reasons for hospitalization were lung issues (26.2%) - prevailing associated comorbidities were diabetes (43.1%) and high blood pressure (66.2%). The mean length of stay in the ICU was one day. All patients presented tongue dorsum coating. There were Candida albicans (37%), Streptococcus parasanguinis (26.1%) and Streptococcus mitis (32.6%) in 1/3 of lingual extension. Streptococcus mitis (p=0,0265) was the most prevalent species. Conclusion: There was no significance between the amount of coating and number of observed species, although all assessed patients had presented coating. The most prevalent microorganisms were Candida albicans, Streptococcus parasanguinis and Streptococcus mitis.

RESUMO Objetivo: Avaliar quantitativa e qualitativamente a microbiota da saburra lingual em pacientes internados em UTI. Métodos: Estudo observacional analítico, amostra de conveniência composta por 65 pacientes para análise de laudo médico e coleta de dados gerais, avaliação da saburra lingual por inspeção visual e coleta de amostra microbiológica para posterior análise laboratorial. A coleta foi realizada por um único examinador por meio de swab estéril introduzida e fricção na porção posterior de língua próxima à orofaringe. Resultados: A maioria dos pacientes (60%) pertencia ao sexo feminino, com média de idade de 74,2 anos. Os principais motivos de internação foram problemas pulmonares (26,2%) - as comorbidades associadas predominantes foram diabetes (43,1%) e hipertensão arterial (66,2%). O tempo de internação médio na UTI foi de um dia. Todos os pacientes apresentavam saburra do dorso da língua. Havia Candida albicans (37%), Streptococcus parasanguinis (26,1%) e Streptococcus mitis (32,6%) em 1/3 da extensão lingual. Streptococcus mitis (p=0,0265) foi a espécie mais prevalente. Conclusões: Não houve significância entre a quantidade de recobrimento e o número de espécies observadas, embora todos os pacientes avaliados tenham apresentado recobrimento. Os microrganismos mais prevalentes foram Candida albicans, Streptococcus parasanguinis e Streptococcus mitis.

Abstract Objectives: to evaluate the evolution of extremely preterm and very preterm infants admitted to neonatal intensive care units, regarding the use of ventilatory support, morbidities, medication use, death, survival and viability. Methods: a non-concurrent cohort study, with 163 very premature and extreme newborns hospitalized in three neonatal intensive care units, during 2016 and 2017. A descriptive analysis of the data obtained from the medical records was performed. The outcomes studied were the use of ventilatory support, morbidities, medication use, death and causes of death. A survival curve was constructed and a viability limit was defined. Results: in the study, 28.2% were extreme and 71.8% were very premature. In this order of subgroups, the need for mechanical ventilation was higher for the extremes (65.2% and 41.0%) and the main diagnosis was early sepsis (78.6% and 82.6). Off-label (60.5% and 47.9%) and off-license (25.3% and 29.0%) medications were used. Most deaths (57.8%) occurred between the extremes, mainly due to septic shock. Survival was lower for the lowest gestational ages and the limit of viability was between 26 and 27 weeks. Conclusions: the main morbidities were from the respiratory system, with high use of off-label and unlicensed medications. Extremes had a greater demand for intensive care in addition to needing more drugs and progressing more to death.

Resumo Objetivos: avaliar a evolução dos prematuros extremos e muito prematuros internados em unidades de terapia intensiva neonatais, quanto ao uso de suporte ventilatório e de medicamentos, óbito, sobrevida e viabilidade. Métodos: estudo de coorte não concorrente, com 163 recém-nascidos muito prematuros e extremos internados em três unidades de terapia intensiva neonatais, durante 2016 e 2017. Realizou-se análise descritiva dos dados obtidos dos prontuários. Os desfechos estudados foram o uso de suporte ventilatório, morbidades, uso de medicamentos, óbito e causas de óbito. Foi construída curva de sobrevivência e delimitado um limite de viabilidade. Resultados: no estudo, 28,2% eram extremos e 71,8% muito prematuros. Nessa ordem de subgrupos, a necessidade de ventilação mecânica foi maior para os extremos (65,2% e 41,0%) e o principal diagnóstico foi sepse precoce (78,6% e 82,6).Medicamentos off-label (60,5% e 47,9%) e sem-licença (25,3% e 29,0%) foramutilizados. A maioria dos óbitos (57,8%) ocorreu entre os extremos, principalmente por choque séptico. A sobrevivência foi menor para as menores idades gestacionais e o limite de viabilidade ficou entre 26 e 27 semanas. Conclusões: as principais morbidades foram do sistema respiratório, com alto uso de medicamentos off-label e sem licença. Extremos tiveram maior demanda de cuidados intensivos além de necessitarem de mais medicamentos e evoluírem mais ao óbito.

Abstract: Introduction: The National Curriculum Guidelines (NCG) provide the directions which an undergraduate course must follow. The current NCGs for the medical course were established almost a decade ago. In this period, the world has undergone unprecedented changes and medical education cannot be left behind. Development: Medical education in Brazil has been based on three main models in the last one hundred years: the Flexnerian, Problem-Based Learning (PBL), and the current competency-based learning. The concept that the student is the center of the teaching-learning process was already emphasized in the 2014 NCG, but is this actually implemented in practice by the universities? How can the NCG help guide a more clear and effective medical education that goes beyond technical knowledge and shapes a humanized ethical professional who views the needs of both the individual and the community? Is it necessary to reroute the GPS of the NCG after so many changes caused by the Covid-19 pandemic? Conclusion: Despite the challenges faced, university faculties are increasing their involvement in implementing the changes required for today’s medical education.

Resumo: Introdução: As Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais (DCN) constituem as direções para formação do currículo de um curso. As DCN do curso médico atual foram instituídas há quase uma década. Nesse período, o mundo passou por mudanças sem precedentes, e a educação médica não pode ficar para trás. Desenvolvimento: O ensino médico no Brasil teve nos últimos 100 anos três principais modelos de ensino: desde o flexneriano, passando pela Problem-Based Learning (PBL), até o atual ensino baseado em competências. O entendimento de que o aluno é o centro do processo ensino aprendizagem já está enfatizado nas DCN de 2014, mas será que esse conceito está sendo implementado na prática das instituições de ensino superior? Como as DCN podem ajudar a guiar de forma mais clara e efetiva uma formação médica que vá além do conhecimento técnico e lapidar um profissional humanizado, ético e com olhar para o indivíduo e para a comunidade? Será que precisaremos “reprogramar” o Global Positioning System (GPS), a rota, das DCN depois de enfrentarmos tantas mudanças decorrentes da pandemia da Covid-19? Conclusão: Apesar dos desafios, há crescente envolvimento do corpo docente das instituições de ensino superior nas melhorias necessárias para a formação médica atual.

ABSTRACT Objective: To describe situations of violence against women in the Covid-19 pandemic reported in the media. Method: Documentary, qualitative research, in a virtual environment, carried out with 39 reports published in the newspaper O Globo and the Universo On-line portal, between March 2020 and July 2021, in Salvador - BA. Data organization followed the steps of content analysis, with a discussion based on the scientific literature. Results: In the analysis process, four core meanings were organized: social isolation denounces situations of domestic violence; Economic crisis and closed doors: justify more violence?; Tools available for ending violence against women: what changes with the pandemic?; The gender and color of violence in the pandemic. Final considerations: The media released alarming data on the intensification and susceptibility of women to different types and situations of violence, especially during social isolation, in the Covid-19 pandemic.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Describir situaciones de violencia contra la mujer en la pandemia de Covid-19 reportadas en los medios de comunicación. Método: Investigación documental, cualitativa, en ambiente virtual, realizada con 39 reportajes publicados en el diario O Globo y el portal Universo On-line, entre marzo de 2020 y julio de 2021, en Salvador - BA. La organización de los datos siguió los pasos del análisis de contenido, con una discusión basada en la literatura científica. Resultados: En el proceso de análisis se organizaron cuatro núcleos de significados: el aislamiento social denuncia situaciones de violencia intrafamiliar; Crisis económica y puertas cerradas: ¿justifican más violencia?; Herramientas disponibles para acabar con la violencia contra las mujeres: ¿qué cambia con la pandemia?; El género y el color de la violencia en la pandemia. Consideraciones finales: Los medios de comunicación dieron a conocer datos alarmantes sobre el recrudecimiento y la susceptibilidad de las mujeres a diferentes tipos y situaciones de violencia, especialmente durante el aislamiento social, en la pandemia del Covid-19.

Método: Pesquisa documental, qualitativa, em ambiente virtual, realizada com 39 reportagens divulgadas no jornal O Globo e portal Universo On-line ,entre março de 2020 a julho de 2021, em Salvador - BA. A organização dos dados seguiu as etapas da análise de conteúdo, com discussão fundamentada na literatura científica. Resultados: No processo de análise foram organizados quatro núcleos de sentido: o isolamento social denuncia situações de violência doméstica; Crise econômica e portas fechadas: justifica mais violências?; Ferramentas disponíveis para o rompimento da violência contra mulher: o que muda com a pandemia?; O gênero e a cor da violência na pandemia. Considerações finais: A mídia divulgou dados alarmantes sobre a intensificação e susceptibilidade das mulheres aos diversos tipos e situações de violência, principalmente durante o isolamento social, na pandemia de Covid-19.

ABSTRACT Objective: to understand the care practices provided by nurses to people with tuberculosis in the Family Health Strategy. Method: descriptive qualitative research, carried out with 11 nurses from family health units in the Rio Grande, RS - Brazil, in the first semester of 2021. The invitation was made by telephone and an online interview was scheduled. The data were analyzed according to content analysis. Results: three categories were evidenced; Practices related to nursing care: obstacles and misconceptions, (Rel)Actions in nursing care for the user with TB, (Re)Thinking about the guidelines provided to the user. The care practices were based on the bond and on welcoming the user. However, there were misunderstandings in the guidelines and obstacles in coping with the disease. A change was observed in the conduct and perception about the disease in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Conclusion: good care practices, both relational and technical, are crossed by difficulties, whether internal or external to the unit.

RESUMEN Objetivo: conocer las prácticas de cuidados prestados por las enfermeras a las personas con tuberculosis en la Estrategia de Salud de la Familia. Método: investigación cualitativa descriptiva realizada con 11 enfermeros de unidades de salud familiar de Rio Grande, RS - Brasil, en el primer semestre de 2021. La invitación se hizo por teléfono y se programó una entrevista en línea. Los datos fueron analizados de acuerdo con el análisis de contenido. Resultados: se evidenciaron tres categorías: Prácticas relacionadas con los cuidados de enfermería: obstáculos y concepciones erróneas, (Rel)Acciones en los cuidados de enfermería al usuario con TB, (Re)Pensamiento sobre las orientaciones dadas al usuario. Las prácticas de cuidados se basaron en el vínculo y en la acogida al usuario. Sin embargo, hubo malentendidos en las orientaciones y obstáculos en el afrontamiento de la enfermedad. Se observó un cambio en la conducta y percepción de la enfermedad ante la pandemia del Covid-19. Conclusión: Las buenas prácticas asistenciales, tanto relacionales como técnicas, se ven atravesadas por dificultades, ya sean internas o externas a la unidad.

RESUMO Objetivo: conhecer as práticas de cuidado prestadas por enfermeiras às pessoas com tuberculose na Estratégia Saúde da Família. Método: pesquisa qualitativa descritiva, realizada com 11 enfermeiras de unidades de saúde da família do Rio Grande, RS - Brasil, no primeiro semestre de 2021. O convite ocorreu por telefonema, sendo agendada entrevista online. Os dados foram analisados segundo análise de conteúdo. Resultados: evidenciaram-se três categorias; Práticas relacionadas ao cuidado de enfermagem: obstáculos e equívocos, (Rel)Ações no cuidado de enfermagem ao usuário com TB, (Re)Pensando sobre as orientações prestadas ao usuário. As práticas de cuidado, pautavam-se no vínculo e no acolhimento ao usuário. Todavia, houve equívocos nas orientações e obstáculos no enfrentamento da doença. Foi observado modificação nas condutas e na percepção sobre a doença diante da pandemia de Covid-19. Conclusão: as boas práticas de cuidado, relacionais e técnicas, são atravessadas por dificuldades, sejam internas ou externas à unidade.

Abstract The present study aimed to develop and perform physicochemical and sensory analyses of new vegetable beverage with cashew nuts (C), brown rice, and prunes (P). Four formulations (F) were developed: F1: 3% C + 9% P; F2: 6% C + 9% P; F3: 3% C + 12% P; F4: 6% C + 12% P. All formulations had good acceptance with grades ranging from 6.14 to 7.23. Among formulations, F3 showed more promising from a functional and sensory point of view, since presented a higher content of oleic acid and antioxidant activity, and showed lower values for calories, lipids and viscosity compared to all other formulations. It was concluded that it was technically possible to develop an alternative vegetable beverage for those allergic to cow's milk, those with lactose intolerance, and people with obesity or cardiovascular and digestive problems.

Resumo Introdução: Com o envelhecimento, é comum ocorrerem alterações em diferentes áreas da cognição, como a memória, função executiva, linguagem, desenvolvimento psicomotor e função visoespacial. A atividade física regular, contudo, tem sido descrita como um excelente meio de atenuar as degenerações provocadas pelo envelhecimento dentro dos domínios físico, psicológico e social. Objetivo: Avaliar os efeitos do treinamento resistido em idosas com comprometimento cognitivo leve. Métodos: Estudo experimental com 31 idosas sedentárias, divididas em grupo controle (GC; n = 15) e grupo treinamento resistido (GTR; n = 16), submetidas a avaliações antropométricas, composição corporal, força máxima, frequência cardíaca (FC), pressão arterial (PA) e aplicação de questionário (Mini Exame do Estado Mental). Resultados: Observou-se aumento da capacidade cognitiva no GTR (pós 26,00 ± 2,13 vs. GC 22,24 ± 3,82 vs. pré 24,06 ± 2,38 GTR) e redução na PA sistólica (pós 107,50 ± 11,97 vs. GC 126,00 ± 9,72 vs. pré 124,13 ± 12,55 mmHg GTR), PA diastólica (pós 68,50 ± 8,15 vs. GC 81,73 ± 4,59 vs. pré 74,69 ± 6,87 mmHg GTR) e duplo produto no GTR (pós 7746 ± 1244 vs. GC 9336 ± 1595 vs. pré 9286 ± 1309 mmHg x bpm GTR). Não houve redução na FC no GTR (pós 72,00 ± 7,40 vs. GC 74,00 ± 10,50 vs. pré 74,94 ± 8,42 bpm GTR). Em relação à força muscular, observou-se aumento em todos os exercícios. Conclusão: O presente estudo mostrou que o treinamento resistido aumentou a força muscular e que houve redução de variáveis hemodinâmicas; entretanto, o achado mais importante desse estudo foi o aumento na capacidade cognitiva das idosas.

Abstract Introduction: With aging, it is common for some changes to occur in different areas of cognition, such as memory, executive function, language and psychomotor speed. However, regular physical activity has been described as an excellent way to alleviate the degeneration caused by aging within the various physical, psychological and social domains. Objective: To evaluate the effects of resistance training in elderly women with mild cognitive impairment. Methods: Experimental study with 31 sedentary elderly women divided into control (CG; n=15) and resistance training (RTG; n=16) groups who underwent assessment of anthropometric measures, body composition, maximum strength, heart rate and blood pressure and questionnaire application (Mini-Mental State Examination). Results: Cognitive ability increased in RTG (post 26.00 ± 2.13 vs. CG 22.24 ± 3.82 vs. pre 24.06 ± 2.38 RTG). In RTG, there was a reduction in systolic blood pressure (post 107.50 ± 11.97 vs. CG 126.00 ± 9.72 vs. pre 124.13 ± 12.55 mmHg RTG), diastolic blood pressure (post 68.50 ± 8.15 vs. CG 81.73 ± 4.59 vs. pre 74.69 ± 6.87 mmHg RTG) and double product (post 7746 ± 1244 vs. CG 9336 ± 1595 vs. pre 9286 ± 1309 mmHg x bpm RTG), but not in heart rate (post 72.00 ± 7.40 vs. CG 74.00 ± 10.50 vs. pre 74.94 ± 8.42 bpm RTG). Regarding muscle strength, an increase was evident in all exercises. Conclusion: The present study showed that resistance training in elderly women increased muscle strength and reduced hemodynamic variables. But the most important finding was that there was an increase in cognitive capacity.

Resumo Objetivo Avaliar o impacto do programa de comanejo multidisciplinar nos desfechos de pacientes com fratura de quadril hospitalizados. Métodos Estudo observacional, do tipo antes e depois, retrospectivo. Foram coletados dados dos pacientes hospitalizados por fratura de quadril entre 2015 e 2019, em hospital universitário com serviço referência para ortopedia. A intervenção analisada foi o programa de comanejo multidisciplinar, que iniciou em 2017. Resultados O número de lesões por pressão adquiridas na internação diminuiu significativamente (p<0,005) após a implementação do comanejo. Da mesma forma, o tempo de internação até a cirurgia reduziu (p<0,046), sendo cumpridas as diretrizes nacionais e internacionais de correção da fratura em até 48 horas. Infecções, reinternações e óbitos não tiveram seu impacto confirmado. Conclusão O comanejo multidisciplinar teve impacto positivo nos desfechos dos pacientes hospitalizados por fratura de quadril, resultando em redução do número de lesões por pressão e do tempo de espera para realizar a cirurgia. Através deste estudo, foram identificadas evidências preliminares que suportam a implementação desse tipo de programa.

Abstract Objective To assess the impact of the multidisciplinary co-management program on the outcomes of hospitalized patients with hip fractures. Methods This is an observational, before-and-after, retrospective study. Data were collected from patients hospitalized for hip fracture between 2015 and 2019, at a university hospital with a referral service for orthopedics. The intervention analyzed was the multidisciplinary co-management program, which started in 2017. Results The number of pressure injuries acquired during hospitalization decreased significantly (p<0.005) after the implementation of co-management. Likewise, the length of hospital stay until surgery was reduced (p<0.046), and national and international guidelines for fracture correction within 48 hours were complied with. Infections, readmissions and deaths have not had their impact confirmed. Conclusion The multidisciplinary co-management had a positive impact on the outcomes of patients hospitalized for hip fracture, resulting in a reduction in the number of pressure injuries and in the waiting time for surgery. Through this study, preliminary evidence was identified to support the implementation of this type of program.

Resumen Objetivo Evaluar el impacto del programa de manejo conjunto multidisciplinario en los desenlaces de pacientes con fractura de cadera hospitalizados. Métodos Estudio observacional, tipo antes y después, retrospectivo. Se recopilaron datos de pacientes hospitalizados por fractura de cadera entre 2015 y 2019, en un hospital universitario con servicio de ortopedia de referencia. La intervención analizada fue el programa de manejo conjunto multidisciplinario, que comenzó en 2017. Resultados El número de úlceras por presión adquiridas en la internación se redujo significativamente (p<0,005) luego de la implementación del manejo conjunto. De la misma forma, el tiempo de internación hasta la cirugía se redujo (p<0,046), cumpliendo las directrices nacionales e internacionales de corrección de la fractura en 48 horas como máximo. No se confirmó el impacto de infecciones, reinternaciones y fallecimientos. Conclusión El manejo conjunto multidisciplinario tuvo un impacto positivo en los desenlaces de los pacientes hospitalizados por fractura de cadera, lo que redujo el número de úlceras por presión y el tiempo de espera para realizar la cirugía. A través de este estudio, se identificaron evidencias preliminares que respaldan la implementación de este tipo de programa.

Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of replacing corn by double-distilled glycerin, a co-product of the biodiesel industry, on goat curd cheese in terms of physical-chemical, microbiological and sensory aspects. Twelve multiparas Saanen goats weighing 47.07 ± 2.41 kg and at 90 ± 5 days of lactation. The experimental design was completely randomized with two treatments (0 and 15% inclusion of glycerin). The physicochemical parameters analyzed were: fat (%), non-fat solids (%), protein (%), lactose (%), salts (%), relative density at 15/15 °C (gmL-1), index cryoscopic (°C), electrical conductivity (mScm-1), pH and acidity. The milk from each treatment was used to make the rennet cheese. The fat had a significant effect (P < 0.05) with inclusion of glycerin in the diet. The physicochemical characteristics of the cheese were influenced (P < 0.05) by feeding up to 15% of glycerin. Regarding sensory attributes, only firmness was influenced (P < 0.05) by the inclusion of glycerin in the diet of dairy goats. Bidistilled glycerin, when inserted in the diet of dairy goats at a level of 15%, causes a reduction in the lipid content of milk and cheese, consequently affecting the cheese yield, and the parameter of firmness in the sensory of the evaluated cheeses.
