A experiência desenvolvida pelo PROENE - Programa de Acompanhamento a Estudantes com Necessidades Educacionais Especiais é relatada com o fim de compartilhar algumas reflexões, dificuldades, desafios e proposições com os pares de outras instituições de ensino superior envolvidos nesta modalidade de atendimento, ou que pretendam criar o seu próprio serviço, conforme características e condições específicas de suas realidades. O programa é composto por profissionais oriundos das áreas de Serviço Social, Educação e Psicologia, responsáveis por: a) identificar as dificuldades e necessidades especiais concernentes ao processo de ensino-aprendizagem-avaliação apresentadas pelo estudante e b) propor recursos e estratégias que reduzam ou eliminem as dificuldades e demandas especiais identificadas. Essas ações da equipe, associadas a um trabalho de mediação junto aos colegiados de curso e demais professores inseridos na situação, têm se mostrado eficazes para o bem estar físico e emocional dos estudantes acompanhados, bem como para a melhoria das condições indispensáveis à sua aprendizagem e formação profissional qualificada, desde o ingresso até o final de sua trajetória acadêmica.

The experience developed by PROENE - Programa de Acompanhamento a Estudantes com Necessidades Educacionais Especiais is described with the aim of sharing in some reflections, difficulties, challenges and proposals with peers from other undergraduate institutions of higher learning involved with this service modality, or who intend to create such a service, tailored to specific conditions and context. The staff of the program is composed by professionals coming from Social Services, Education and Psychology. These professionals are responsible for: a) identifying the difficulties and special needs related to the teaching-learning-evaluation process of the student and b) recommending resources and strategies to reduce or eliminate the identified difficulties and demands. The team's actions, along with mediation efforts which attempt to work with the various teachers of the courses involved, as well as with other concerned professors have been shown to demonstrated to improve the physical and psychological wellbeing of the students being followed. This mediation process also enhances conditions required for the learning process and for a qualified professional development, from the moment of registration on through to graduation.

As pessoas com deficiência costumam ser estigmatizadas e excluídas do convívio social e das atividades consideradas normais. Para transformar essa realidade, a Assembléia Geral da ONU (1990) enfatizou o modelo de sociedade inclusiva, baseado no princípio de que todas as pessoas têm o mesmo valor e que a sociedade deve empenhar-se para atender as diferentes necessidades de cada cidadão. Dentro dessa visão, foi criado o Grupo de Teatro para Atores Especiais (G.T.P.A.Ê.), com o objetivo principal de possibilitar o desenvolvimento das habilidades pessoais e sociais da pessoa com deficiência mental, além de informar a sociedade sobre as reais potencialidades e limitações desses indivíduos. A intervenção se desenvolve durante laboratórios de teatro, passeios noturnos e apresentações do grupo. É possível observar expressões criativas dos participantes, assim como o desenvolvimento de autonomia e auto-estima. Também se observa um impacto das apresentações no público, que pode levar à diminuição de preconceitos e facilitar o processo de inclusão.

People with deficiency are stigmatized and excluded from the social conviviality and of the ordinary activities. To transform that reality, the General Assembly of the UN (1990) emphasized the model of inclusive society, based on the principle that everyone has the same value and that society should make an effort to assist each citizen's different needs. According to this view, the Group of Theater for Special Actors (G.T.P.A.Ê.) was created, with the main objective of making possible the development of the personal and social abilities of people with mental deficiency, and of informing society about these individual's real potential and limitations. The intervention is developed during the rehearsals, night strolls and group spectacles. It's possible to observe the participants creative expressions, as well as the development of their autonomy and self-esteem. It's also possible to observe an impact of the spectacles on the public, what can decrease prejudice and facilitate the inclusion process.
