ABSTRACT Objective: Evaluate the satisfaction of outpatient oncology users taking antineoplastic drugs about nursing care. Methods: Exsectional study with a quantitative approach, carried out at the Chemotherapy Service of a university hospital located in Belém-PA - Brazil, with 200 users, from June 2019 to June 2022, through interviews and use of the Patient Satisfaction Instrument. Chi-square analysis, Pearson p-value, and chi-square analysis were applied, and the p-value ≤ 0.05 was considered. Results: Users reported good satisfaction in the overall average of the domains (>90%), highlighting the technical-professional domain, followed by the educational and confidence domains. The variables of clarification of medical guidelines, giving good advice, and taking the initiative after patient responses were associated with user satisfaction according to cancer topography and staff availability to those with different degrees of staging. Conclusion: This study assists managers in identifying and planning improvements in areas and services.

RESUMEN Objetivo: evaluar la satisfacción de los usuarios de oncología ambulatoria que utilizan fármacos antineoplásicos sobre los cuidados de enfermería. Métodos: estudio seccional con enfoque cuantitativo, realizado en el Servicio de Quimioterapia de un hospital universitario situado en Belém-PA - Brasilcon 200 usuarios en el período de junio de 2019 a junio de 2022, mediante entrevista y utilización del Instrumento de Satisfacción del Paciente. Se aplicó el análisis chi-cuadrado de Pearson y el valor p ≤0,05. Resultados: los usuarios declararon una buena satisfacción en la media global de los dominios (>90%), destacando el dominio técnico-profesional, seguido de los dominios educativo y de confianza. Las variables de aclaración sobre las directrices médicas, dar buenos consejos, tomar la iniciativa tras las respuestas de los pacientes se asociaron con la satisfacción de los usuarios según la topografía del cáncer y la disponibilidad del personal ante los distintos grados de estadificación. Conclusión: este estudio ayuda a los directivos a identificar y planificar mejoras en áreas y servicios.

RESUMO Objetivo: avaliar a satisfação do usuário oncológico ambulatorial em uso de antineoplásicos sobre os cuidados de enfermagem. Métodos: estudo transversal com abordagem quantitativa, realizado no Serviço de Quimioterapia de um hospital universitário localizado em Belém-PA - Brasil, com 200 usuários no período de junho de 2019 a junho de 2022, através de entrevista e uso do Instrumento de Satisfação do Paciente. Aplicou-se análise de qui-quadrado de Pearson e considerou-se p-valor ≤0,05. Resultados: os usuários relataram bom índice de satisfação na média geral dos domínios (>90%), destacando o domínio técnico-profissional, seguido do educacional e confiança. As variáveis de esclarecimento sobre as orientações médicas, dar bons conselhos, tomar iniciativa após as respostas dos pacientes foram associadas à satisfação do usuário conforme a topografia do câncer e a disponibilidade da equipe àqueles com diferentes graus de estadiamento. Conclusão: este estudo auxilia gestores na identificação e planejamento de melhorias nas áreas e serviços.

A pandemia de Covid-19 estimula a produção de tecnologias inovadoras viáveis à realidade nacional e expressam-se pela necessidade de reorganização dos serviços para a assistência. A teleconsultoria de gestão, rede de apoio interdisciplinar, interprofissional e transversal, desenvolveu um conjunto intervenções de apoio aos municípios. Objetivou-se com este artigo compartilhar uma análise crítica e reflexiva a partir de uma experiência de ensino-extensão-serviço e comunidade, no contexto da pandemia de Covid-19. Trata-se de um relato de experiência de um estudo multiterritorial, de construção teórico-prático de uma experiência no campo da Extensão, Ensino e Pesquisa. Conclui-se que os elementos da teleconsultoria de gestão devem ser incorporados à prática cotidiana dos profissionais de saúde e da gestão.

The Covid-19 pandemic stimulates the production of innovative Technologies that are viable for the national reality and are expressed by the need to reorganize care services. The management teleconsulting, an interdisciplinary, interprofessional and transversal support network, developed a set of interventions to support municipalities.The objective of this manuscript was to share a reflective critical analysis, based on a teachingextension-service and community experience, in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is an experience report of a multi-territorial study, of theoreticalpractical construction of an experience in the field of Extension, Teaching and Research. It is concluded that the elements of management teleconsultation should be incorporated into the daily practice of health and management professionals.

La pandemia Covid-19 estimula la producción de tecnologías innovadoras que son viables para la realidad nacional y se expresan en la necesidad de reorganizar los servicios de atención. La teleconsulta de gestión, una red de apoyo interdisciplinar, interprofesional y transversal, desarrolló un conjunto de intervenciones de apoyo a los municipios. El objetivo de este manuscrito fue compartir un análisis crítico reflexivo, basado en uma experiencia de enseñanza-extensión-servicio y comunidad, en el contexto de la pandemia Covid-19. Se trata de un relato de experiencia de un estúdio multiterritorial, de construcción teórico-práctica de una experiencia en el ámbito de la Extensión, la Docencia y la Investigación. Se concluye que los elementos de la teleconsulta de gestión deben incorporarse a la práctica diaria de los profesionales de la salud y la gestión.

Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of vitamin C (VC) on the stability of stored liposomes under different climatic conditions. Liposomal formulations containing 1 mg/mL of VC (LIP-VC) and blank formulations (LIP-B) were prepared by the reverse-phase evaporation method. After preparation, they were characterized according to their refractive index, average vesicle diameter, polydispersity index (PDI), zeta potential, pH, content, encapsulation efficiency (EE%), morphology, stability and antioxidant activity. For stability, LIP-VC and LIP-B were stored in different climatic conditions (4 °C, 25 °C and 40 °C) for 30 days. The LIP-VC presented 1.3365 refractive index, 161 nm of mean diameter, 0.231 PDI, -7.3 mV zeta potential, 3.2 pH, 19.4% EE%, spherical morphology, 1 mg/mL of VC content, and antioxidant activity of 12 and 11.4 μmol of TE/mL for the radical DPPH and ABTS+, respectively. During stability, the LIP-B stored in 40 °C showed an instability in the parameters: PDI, vesicle size and zeta potential after 15 days, while the LIP-VC remained stable in its size and PDI for 30 days. After that, it is shown that VC can be used as an antioxidant and stabilizer in liposomes to increase the stability and shelf-life of vesicles.

RESUMO Objetivo analisar a relação entre resiliência e fatores associados (estresse, distúrbios psíquicos menores e qualidade de vida) de cuidadores familiares de crianças e adolescentes em tratamento oncológico. Método pesquisa de métodos mistos, com estratégia explanatória sequencial, realizado com cuidadores familiares de crianças e adolescentes em tratamento oncológico em um hospital público do interior do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. A coleta de dados ocorreu de fevereiro a setembro de 2018. O estudo quantitativo foi de natureza transversal e a pesquisa qualitativa teve caráter descritivo-exploratório. Participaram 62 cuidadores familiares na etapa quantitativa e 16 responderam as entrevistas semiestruturadas. Aplicaram-se instrumento contendo questões sociodemográficas, econômicas, laborais, de saúde e escalas de resiliência (CD-RISC-10-Br), distúrbios psíquicos menores (DPMs) (SRQ-20), qualidade de vida (QV) (WHOQO-Bref) e estresse e entrevista semiestruturada. Utilizou-se estatística descritiva e inferencial para os dados quantitativos e análise de conteúdo para os qualitativos. Resultados os cuidadores familiares possuíam nível moderado de resiliência (48,4%); alto nível de estresse percebido (41%); suspeição para distúrbios psíquicos menores (45%). Apresentaram satisfação nos domínios de qualidade de vida físico (67,7%); psicológico (62,9%); relações pessoais (61,3%), e insatisfação no domínio meio ambiente (75,8%). As entrevistas reportaram para alterações de saúde que poderiam desencadear distúrbios psíquicos menores, estresse e alterações na qualidade de vida. Conclusão alto nível de estresse; suspeição para distúrbios psíquicos menores e baixa qualidade de vida, com o meio ambiente, evidenciaram-se como fatores associados para um menor nível de resiliência dos cuidadores familiares. Percebeu-se a necessidade de desenvolver ações que fortalecessem a resiliência, pois os cuidadores foram essenciais para a efetividade do plano de cuidado de crianças e adolescentes em tratamento oncológico.

ABSTRACT Objective to analyze the relationship between resilience and associated factors (stress, minor psychiatric disorders and quality of life) of family caregivers with children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment. Method mixed methods research, with sequential explanatory strategy, carried out with family caregivers of children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment in a public hospital in the Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil. Data collection took place from February to September 2018. The quantitative study was cross-sectional in nature, and the qualitative research was descriptive-exploratory. Participants included 62 family caregivers in the quantitative stage and 16 responded to semi-structured interviews. An instrument containing sociodemographic, economic, labor, health and resilience scales (CD-RISC-10-Br), minor psychiatric disorders (MPDs) (SRQ-20), quality of life (QOL) (WHOQO-Bref) and stress and semi-structured interview were applied. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used for quantitative data and content analysis for qualitative data. Results family caregivers had a moderate level of resilience (48.4%); high level of perceived stress (41%); suspicion for MPDs (45%). They presented satisfaction in the physical Qol domains (67.7%); psychological (62.9%); personal relationships (61.3%), and dissatisfaction in the environment domain (75.8%). The interviews reported for health changes that could trigger MPD, stress and changes in quality of life. Conclusion high level of stress; suspicion for MPD and low QoL, with the environment, were evidenced as associated factors for a lower level of resilience of family caregivers. The need to develop actions that strengthen resilience was percieved, as caregivers were essential for the effectiveness of the care plan for children and adolescents undergoing cancer treatment.

RESUMEN Objetivo analizar la relación entre la resiliencia y los factores y el tratamiento del cáncer asociados (estrés, trastornos menores de la calidad de vida) de los cuidadores de niños y adolescentes familiares. Método investigación de investigación, con estrategia secuencial, realizada por niños y adolescentes ex plan con tratamiento oncológico familiar mixto en un hospital público del interior de Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. La recolección de dato se llevó a cabo de febrero a septiembre 2018. El estudio cuantitativo fue de carácter transversal, y la investigación cualitativa fue descriptiva-exploratoria. Participaron 62 cuidadores familiares en etapa cuantitativa y 16 respondedores a entrevista semiestructurada. Un instrumento que contiene escalas sociodemográficas, económicas, laborales, de salud y resiliencia (CD-RISC-10-Br), trastornos psíquicos menores (ODM) (SRQ-20), calidad de vida (CV) (WHOQO-Bref) y estrés y -Se aplicó entrevista estructurada. Se utilizaron estadísticas descriptivas e inferenciales para datos cuantitativos y análisis de contenido para datos cualitativos. Resultados los cuidadores familiares presentaron un nivel moderado de resiliencia (48,4%); alto nivel de estrés percibido (41%); sospecha de MDD (45%). Presentaron satisfacción en los dominios de la CV física (67,7%); psicológico (62,9%); relaciones personales (61,3%) e insatisfacción en el dominio medio ambiente (75,8%). Las entrevistas informaron sobre cambios en la salud que podrían desencadenar PMD, estrés y cambios en la calidad de vida. Conclusión alto nivel de estrés; la sospecha de SMD y la baja CV, con el medio ambiente, se evidenciaron como factores asociados para un menor nivel de resiliencia de los cuidadores familiares. Se percibió la necesidad de desarrollar acciones que fortalezcan, los cuidadores fueron fundamentales para la efectividad del plan de atención a niños y adolescentes con tratamiento oncológico.

Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of replacing corn by double-distilled glycerin, a co-product of the biodiesel industry, on goat curd cheese in terms of physical-chemical, microbiological and sensory aspects. Twelve multiparas Saanen goats weighing 47.07 ± 2.41 kg and at 90 ± 5 days of lactation. The experimental design was completely randomized with two treatments (0 and 15% inclusion of glycerin). The physicochemical parameters analyzed were: fat (%), non-fat solids (%), protein (%), lactose (%), salts (%), relative density at 15/15 °C (gmL-1), index cryoscopic (°C), electrical conductivity (mScm-1), pH and acidity. The milk from each treatment was used to make the rennet cheese. The fat had a significant effect (P < 0.05) with inclusion of glycerin in the diet. The physicochemical characteristics of the cheese were influenced (P < 0.05) by feeding up to 15% of glycerin. Regarding sensory attributes, only firmness was influenced (P < 0.05) by the inclusion of glycerin in the diet of dairy goats. Bidistilled glycerin, when inserted in the diet of dairy goats at a level of 15%, causes a reduction in the lipid content of milk and cheese, consequently affecting the cheese yield, and the parameter of firmness in the sensory of the evaluated cheeses.

Abstract The present study aimed to investigate the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) on tooth extraction sites in rats treated with bisphosphonates. Thirty Albinus Wistar male rats were administered 0.035 mg/kg zoledronic acid intravenously for 8 weeks, divided into four administrations with a 2-week interval between each application, after which their upper right central incisors were extracted to induce the development of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ). The samples were divided into the following two groups: Group 1 (G1) underwent marginal resection of BRONJ followed by the use of PRP, while Group 2 (G2) underwent resection of BRONJ but without the use of PRP. The treatment groups were evaluated after 14, 28, and 42 days. Clinical, microtomographic, microscopic, and immunohistochemical (IHC) evaluations were performed. Microtomography results revealed no significant difference between the groups (p <0.05) in any time period. Histomorphometric analysis showed increased bone formation over time for both groups (p < 0.001). G1 demonstrated a greater amount of new bone formation than G2 at 28 and 42 days (p < 0.001), with G1 presenting greater vascularization and a slightly higher VEGF expression. For both groups, RANKL/OPG expression levels were sufficient as a parameter for indicating the rate of bone remodeling in a previously treated area of osteonecrosis groups. Taken together, our findings indicated that the use of PRP improves the resolution process of BRONJ.

ABSTRACTINTRODUCTION: This study aimed to determine the frequencies of bacterial isolates cultured from diabetic foot infections and assess their resistance and susceptibility to commonly used antibiotics.METHODS: This prospective study included 41 patients with diabetic foot lesions. Bacteria were isolated from foot lesions, and their antibiotic susceptibility pattern was determined using the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method and/or broth method [minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC)].RESULTS: The most common location of ulceration was the toe (54%), followed by the plantar surface (27%) and dorsal portion (19%). A total of 89 bacterial isolates were obtained from 30 patients. The infections were predominantly due to Gram-positive bacteria and polymicrobial bacteremia. The most commonly isolated Gram-positive bacteria were Staphylococcus aureus, followed by Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus agalactiae, and Streptococcus pneumoniae. The most commonly isolated Gram-negative bacteria were Proteus spp. and Enterobacterspp., followed by Escherichia coli, Pseudomonasspp., and Citrobacterspp. Nine cases of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) had cefoxitin resistance, and among these MRSA isolates, 3 were resistant to vancomycin with the MIC technique. The antibiotic imipenem was the most effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and gentamicin was effective against Gram-negative bacteria.CONCLUSIONS: The present study confirmed the high prevalence of multidrug-resistant pathogens in diabetic foot ulcers. It is necessary to evaluate the different microorganisms infecting the wound and to know the antibiotic susceptibility patterns of the isolates from the infected wound. This knowledge is crucial for planning treatment with the appropriate antibiotics, reducing resistance patterns, and minimizing healthcare costs.

A aveia branca é uma excelente opção como cultura de inverno em sistemas de sucessão de culturas. A decomposição do material orgânico, mantido na superfície do solo no plantio direto, associado a condições de má drenagem ou umidade excessiva, acentua a formação de ácidos orgânicos. Dentre estes, os ácidos acéticos e butírico apresentam grande potencial fitotóxico. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito dos ácidos acético e butírico na germinação e no desenvolvimento inicial de plântulas de diferentes cultivares de aveia branca. O experimento foi conduzido em blocos completamente casualizados, onde sementes das cultivares Afrodite, Albasul, Brisasul, FAEM 06, IAC 7, URS 21 e URS Taura foram embebidas em quatro doses de ácido acético (0, 4, 8 e 12 mM) e butírico (0, 3, 6 e 9 mM). As sementes foram mantidas em câmera de germinação por dez dias. Foram avaliados os caracteres comprimento da parte aérea (CPA), comprimento de raiz (CR) e a porcentagem de germinação (% GER). O ácido butírico demonstrou-se mais fitotóxico que o ácido acético, sendo o desenvolvimento das raízes mais afetado que a parte aérea. As cultivares IAC 7 e Brisasul demonstraram-se mais sensíveis e as cultivares URS Taura e Afrodite demonstraram-se menos afetadas pelos ácidos orgânicos em estudo. Sem a adição de ácidos e na dose de 12 mM de ácido acético, verificou-se a correlação entre % GER e CR. Existe grande variabilidade entre as cultivares estudadas, em resposta aos ácidos acético e butírico.

The white oat is an excellent winter cropchoice in crop succession systems. The decomposition of organic matter sustained on the soil surface in no tillage conditions associated with poor drainage or excessive moisture increase the formation of organic acids. Among these, acetic and butyric acids have great phytotoxic potential. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of acetic and butyric acids on germination and early seedling development of different oat cultivars. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized block design, where seeds of cultivars Afrodite, Albasul, Brisasul, FAEM 06, IAC 7, URS 21 and URS Taura, were subjected to four doses of acetic (0, 4, 8 and 12 mM ) and butyric ( 0, 3, 6 and 9 mM)acid. The seeds were kept in germination chamber for ten days. The characters evaluated wereshoot length (CPA), root length (CR), and the percentage of germination (% GER). The toxicity of butyric acid was higher than acetic acid, damaging root development more than shoot length. Cultivars IAC 7 and Brisasul were sensitive and cultivars URS Taura and Afrodite were tolerant tothe organic acids studied. In control and 12 mM acetic acid, there was a correlation between CR and % GER. There is great variation among cultivars in response to acetic and butyric acids.

CONTEXTO E OBJETIVO: O angioedema hereditário (AEH) com deficiência de inibidor de C1 manifesta-se por episódios recorrentes de edema envolvendo pele, trato respiratório superior e gastrointestinal. Pode ser letal por asfixia. O objetivo foi avaliar a resposta à terapia dos ataques com icatibanto, inibidor do receptor de bradicinina, recentemente introduzido no Brasil.TIPO DE ESTUDO E LOCAL: Estudo experimental prospectivo de coorte, sem grupo controle, da eficácia e segurança do icatibanto em paciente com AEH.MÉTODOS: Pacientes com diagnóstico confirmado de AEH foram incluídos de acordo com os sintomas, independentemente do tempo de início do ataque. Icatibanto foi administrado segundo protocolo aprovado no Brasil. A gravidade do sintoma foi estabelecida continuamente e os eventos adversos foram monitorados.RESULTADOS: 24 ataques em 20 pacientes com AEH foram tratados (19 F:1 M; 19-55 anos; mediana 29 anos). Os sintomas foram: edema subcutâneo (22/24), dor abdominal (15/24) e obstrução de vias aéreas superiores (10/24). O tempo para o início do alívio foi: 5-10 minutos, 5/24 (20,8%); 10-20, 5/24 (20,8%); 20-30, 8/24 (33,4%); 30-60, 5/24 (20,8%) e 2 horas, 1/24 (4,3%). O tempo para a resolução completa variou de 4,3-33,4 horas. Somente efeitos adversos nos locais das injeções foram relatados. Eritema leve a moderado e/ou sensação de ardor foram relatados por 15/24 pacientes, prurido em 3, e 6 não tiveram efeitos adversos.CONCLUSÃO: Pacientes com AEH tipo I receberam icatibanto com pronta resposta; a maioria teve melhora na gravidade dos sintomas em 30 minutos. Eventos adversos locais ocorreram em 75% dos pacientes.

CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVE: Hereditary angioedema (HAE) with C1 inhibitor deficiency manifests as recurrent episodes of edema involving the skin, upper respiratory tract and gastrointestinal tract. It can be lethal due to asphyxia. The aim here was to evaluate the response to therapy for these attacks using icatibant, an inhibitor of the bradykinin receptor, which was recently introduced into Brazil.DESIGN AND SETTING: Prospective experimental single-cohort study on the efficacy and safety of icatibant for HAE patients.METHODS: Patients with a confirmed HAE diagnosis were enrolled according to symptoms and regardless of the time since onset of the attack. Icatibant was administered in accordance with the protocol that has been approved in Brazil. Symptom severity was assessed continuously and adverse events were monitored.RESULTS: 24 attacks in 20 HAE patients were treated (female/male 19:1; 19-55 years; median 29 years of age). The symptoms were: subcutaneous edema (22/24); abdominal pain (15/24) and upper airway obstruction (10/24). The time taken until onset of relief was: 5-10 minutes (5/24; 20.8%); 10-20 (5/24; 20.8%); 20-30 (8/24; 33.4%); 30-60 (5/24; 20.8%); and 2 hours (1/24; 4.3%). The time taken for complete resolution of symptoms ranged from 4.3 to 33.4 hours. Adverse effects were only reported at injection sites. Mild to moderate erythema and/or feelings of burning were reported by 15/24 patients, itching by 3 and no adverse effects in 6.CONCLUSION: HAE type I patients who received icatibant responded promptly; most achieved improved symptom severity within 30 minutes. Local adverse events occurred in 75% of the patients.

A aveia branca (Avena sativa L.) é uma cultura que tem um papel importante no sistema de produção de grãos e integração lavoura-pecuária, no entanto, em algumas regiões brasileiras, o pleno estabelecimento e desenvolvimento dessa cultura, bem como o aumento de produtividade são inviabilizados pelo excesso de alumínio (Al) nos solos. A avaliação de caracteres de plântulas de aveia desenvolvidas sob cultivo hidropônico com adoção de solução nutritiva mínima pode ser eficiente para classificar genótipos sensíveis e tolerantes ao Al. Este trabalho objetivou avaliar o desempenho de 10 genótipos de aveia submetidos ao estresse por Al, baseando-se na análise da retomada do crescimento da raiz, com uso de solução mínima e identificando quais caracteres se mantêm correlacionados. Foram adotadas diferentes doses de Al (0, 3, 6, e 9 mg L-1 de Al). Com uso de solução mínima, a dose de 6 mg L-1 de Al é a mais adequada na diferenciação de genótipos sensíveis e tolerantes. Dentre os genótipos estudados, UFRGS 14, UFRGS 19 e URS Guapa são os mais tolerantes e UPFA 20, UPF 18 e IAC 7, os mais sensíveis ao Al. Com o objetivo de classificar genótipos de aveia entre sensíveis e tolerantes ao Al, nenhuma outra variável pode ser utilizada em substituição à retomada do crescimento da raiz.

White oat (Avena sativa L.) is a crop that has an important role in the system of grain production and crop-livestock integration. However, in some Brazilian regions the full establishment and development of this crop as well as increased productivity are hampered by aluminum excess (Al) in the soil. The evaluation of oat seedling traits, grown under hydroponic cultivation and minimum nutrient solution can be efficient to identify aluminum tolerant genotypes. This study aimed to evaluate the performance of ten genotypes subjected to stress by Al, based on analysis of the resumption of root growth, using minimum nutrient solution and identifying which characters remain correlated. Different doses (0, 3, 6, and 9 mg L -1 Al) were used. It was observed that the use of minimum nutrient solution is effective for the differentiation of sensitive and tolerant oat lines to Al, being 6 mg L-1 Al is the most appropriate for this scoring. Among the genotypes studied, UFRGS 14, UFRGS 19 and URS Guapa are the most tolerant and UPFA 20, UPF 18 and IAC 7 are the most sensitive to Al. The only character proved to be effective in differentiating aluminum sensitive and tolerant oat genotypes is resumption of root growth.

As semelhanças e discrepâncias entre inteligência e criatividade foram investigadas, assim como os possíveis impactos de gênero e série educacional sobre o seu desenvolvimento. A amostra foi composta por 172 estudantes (91 mulheres, 81 homens), com idades variando dos 7 aos 17 anos. A avaliação da inteligência foi feita por meio da versão brasileira da Bateria Woodcock-Johnson III enquanto que criatividade foi avaliada pelos Testes de Pensamento Criativo de Torrance. Os resultados obtidos pelas MANOVA e ANOVA demonstraram efeitos significativos de série escolar para inteligência e criatividade figural, e de sexo para criatividade verbal. Não houve correlações significativas entre inteligência e criatividade, de acordo com as medianas nos testes de inteligência. A análise fatorial rotação Varimax apontou distinção entre inteligência, criatividade verbal e figurativa, indicando a independência entre estes construtos.

The similarities and discrepancies between intelligence and creativity were investigated as well as the impact of gender and educational level upon their development. The sample was composed of 172 students (91 women, 81 man), ages ranging from 7-17 years old. Intelligence was assessed through the Brazilian version of the Woodcock-Johnson III tests, whereas creativity was evaluated through the Torrance tests of creativity. Results analyzed by MANOVA and ANOVA indicated significant effects of educational grade upon intelligence and creativity, and sex effects only on verbal creativity. No significant correlations were found between intelligence and creativity according to median results on intelligence tests. Factor analysis demonstrated the distinction among intelligence, verbal and figural creativity. On conclusion, creativity and intelligence were found as being independent constructs.
