RESUMO O estudo objetivou analisar a associação entre a posição da atacante, o local do lançamento e a direção do lançamento com o efeito do lançamento, bem como os fatores preditivos deste. Foram analisadas 6146 ações de ataque de 66 jogos realizados pelas 24 equipes participantes do Campeonato Mundial de Handebol Feminino de 2015. Para a associação entre as variáveis estudadas recorreu-se ao teste do Qui-Quadrado e para análise preditiva utilizou-se à regressão logística multinomial. Adotou-se o valor de significância de p≤0,05 e utilizou-se o software SPSS versão 20.0 para Windows. Os resultados apontaram associação entre o efeito do lançamento e a posição da atacante (��2= 107,39; p=0,0001; ɸ=0,13), entre o efeito do lançamento e o local do lançamento (��2= 715,01; p=0,0001; ɸ=0,34), entre o efeito do lançamento e a direção do lançamento (��2= 587,25; p=0,0001; ɸ=0,34) e que o local do lançamento e a direção do lançamento foram fatores preditivos do efeito do lançamento (��2=854,666; p<0,0001). Assim, a partir dos resultados, pode-se concluir que o efeito do lançamento é predito pelo local do lançamento e pela direção do lançamento, sugerindo que a posição da jogadora não influencia na obtenção do gol.

ABSTRACT The study aimed to analyze the association between the position of the attacker, the place of the finish and the direction of the finalization with the effectiveness of the finalization, as well as the predictive factors of this. A total of 6146 attack actions of 66 matches were analyzed by the 24 teams participating in the 2015 Women’s World Handball Championship. For the association between the variables studied, we used the Chi-Square test and for predictive analysis of the data, we used the multinomial regression. The significance level of p≤0.05 was adopted and the software SPSS version 20.0 for Windows was used. The results showed an association between the finalization effect and the attacker’s position (χ2 = 107.39, p = 0.0001, ɸ = 0.13), association between the finishing effect and the finishing direction (χ2 = 715, (Χ2 = 587.25, p = 0.0001, ɸ = 0.34), and that the predictive factors of the finalization effect was statistically significant (χ2 = 854.666; p <0.0001). Thus, from the results, it is possible to concluded that the effect of the finalization and the direction of the finalization, suggesting that the position of the player does not influence in obtaining the goal.

Resumo O objetivo do presente estudo foi comparar o comportamento tático e técnico de jogadores iniciantes no voleibol no side-out de acordo com quatro situações distintas de jogos reduzidos com diferentes relações área/jogador: 4,5 m2 (3,0 m x 3,0 m), 8,0 m2 (4,0 m x 4,0 m), 10,58 m2 (4,6 m x 4,6 m) e 13,52 m2 (5,2 m x 5,2 m). Foram analisados 76 jogos disputados por 16 jogadores com média de idade de 12,2 ± 0,5 anos e experiência de 1,2 ± 0,8 anos de prática. O comportamento tático e técnico foi analisado por meio de uma adaptação do Game Performance Analysis Instrument. A análise foi realizada para a recepção, o levantamento e o ataque de acordo com os componentes relacionados ao ajuste técnico, eficiência técnica e a tomada de decisão. Os resultados mostraram que os jogadores apresentaram índices táticos e técnicos superiores nas habilidades de recepção e levantamento nas situações de 4,6 m x 4,6 m e 5,2 m x 5,2 m. Além disso, na situação de 3,0 m x 3,0 m foram encontrados índices técnicos mais elevados para o ataque. Não foram encontradas diferenças no comportamento tático do ataque para as situações analisadas. Concluímos que as restrições ambientais, impostas pelos pequenos jogos, implicam em comportamentos táticos e técnicos distintos. Assim, a estratégia pedagógica de utilização de pequenos jogos para o ensino do voleibol para jogadores iniciantes deve estar associada aos objetivos pretendidos para cada uma das habilidades básicas do voleibol.

Abstract The aim of the present study was to compare the tactical and technical behavior of beginner players in volleyball side-out between four distinct situations of reduced games with different area/player ratios: 4.5 m2 (3.0 m x 3.0 m), 8.0 m2 (4.0 m x 4.0 m), 10.58 m2 (4.6 m x 4.6 m), and 13.52 m2 (5.2 m x 5.2 m). We analyzed 76 games played by 16 players with a mean age of 12.2 ± 0.5 years and experience of 1.2 ± 0.8 years of practice. Tactical and technical behavior was analyzed using an adaptation of the Game Performance Analysis Instrument (GPAI). The analysis was conducted for passing, setting and attacking according to the components related to technical adjustment, technical efficiency and decision-making. The results showed that players presented higher technical and tactical indexes in the passing and setting skills in 4.6 m x 4.6 m and 5.2 m x 5.2 m situations. Also, in the 3.0 m x 3.0 m situation higher technical indexes were found for the attacking. No differences were found in the tactical behavior of attacking for tested situations. We conclude that the environmental constraints imposed by the small-sided games imply distinct technical and technical behaviors. Thus, the pedagogical strategy of using small-sided games for the teaching of volleyball for beginner players must be associated with the intended objectives for each basic volleyball skills.

RESUMO Este estudo objetivou identificar e analisar as chances de ocorrerem os efeitos dos ataques feitos pelos atacantes de ponta, a partir das posições 4 e 6, no side-out, segundo o efeito da recepção, tempo de ataque e o tipo de ataque. Foram analisados 142 jogos da Superliga Masculina 2014-2015, total de 6.185 ações de ataque. Os pontos de ataque foram predominantes após as recepções de excelente qualidade e os ataques potentes. Houve diferença no efeito da recepção, tipo de ataque e efeito do ataque, segundo o local da finalização (x2=33,68; p<0,001). Os ataques de ponta se caracterizaram por serem feitos após recepções que permitem o ataque organizado e pela potência do ataque. O local de ataque mostrou-se como diferenciador do tipo de ataque feito, sugeriu que as restrições ambientais exigem do atacante de ponta comportamento distinto em função do local da finalização.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to identify and analyse the chances to occur of the attack effects carried out from positions 4 and 6, the left-side attackers, in the side-out, according to the reception effect, attack tempo and attack type. It was analyzed 142 games of the 2014-2015 Men’s Superleague, totaling 6185 attacks. The points of attack were predominant by the reception of excellent quality and the powerful attacks. There was difference in the effect of the reception, attack type and attack effect, according to the place of (x2=33,68; p<0,001). Attacks for zone 4 and 6 were characterized by being performed after receptions that allow the organized attack and the power of the attack. The attack place proved to be a differentiator of the attack type carried out, suggesting that the environmental restrictions require the attacker to behave differently according to the place of attack.

RESUMEN El objetivo de este estudio fue identificar y analizar las posibilidades de que se produjeran los efectos de los ataques feitos por los atacantes de punta, a partir de las posiciones 4 y 6, en el side-out, según el efecto de la recepción, tiempo de ataque y tipo de ataque. Se analizaron 142 partidos de la Superliga Masculina 2014-2015, con un total de 6.185 ataques. Dominaron los puntos de ataque después de la recepción de buena calidad y los ataques fuertes. Hay diferencia en la recepción, el tipo del ataque y el efecto del ataque según el lugar de la finalización (x2=33,68; p<0,001). Los ataques de punta se caracterizaron por su realización después de las recepciones que permitían el ataque organizado y por la fuerza del ataque. El lugar de ataque es un diferenciador del tipo de ataque feito y las restricciones ambientales exigen del atacante de punta un comportamiento diferente en función del lugar de la finalización.

Resumo O estudo comparou o comportamento tático-técnico entre duas situações distintas de jogos reduzidos no voleibol. A amostra constituiu-se de 12 jogos disputados por duplas, sendo 6 praticados em quadras de 3,0m x 3,0m (SIT1) e 6 de 2,0m x 4,5m (SIT2). Assim, comparou-se o comportamento de 12 participantes, com idade média de 16,7 ±1,5 anos e com 3,2 ±1,2 anos de prática. Os resultados mostraram que na recepção houve melhores resultados no ajustamento e na tomada de decisão na SIT2, enquanto que na SIT1 a eficácia foi mais elevada; no levantamento observou-se que a SIT2 apresentou melhores resultados no desempenho técnico, ajustamento e eficiência, enquanto que na SIT1 a eficácia foi mais elevada; no ataque, na SIT2, observou-se melhores resultados no ajustamento e na tomada de decisão. Conclui-se que as restrições ambientais influenciam nos comportamentos dos aprendizes, evidenciando que contextos ecológicos diferentes oportunizam ações inerentes ao ambiente específico de jogo.

Abstract This study compared the tactical-technical behavior between two distinct situations of reduced volleyball games. The sample consisted of 12 games played by doubles, 6 of which were played in 3.0m x 3.0m (SIT1) and 6 of 2.0m x 4.5m (SIT2) courts. Thus, the behavior of 12 participants, with mean age of 16.7 ± 1.5 years and 3.2 ± 1.2 years of practice, was compared. The results showed that at reception, better results were obtained in adjustment and decision making in SIT2, whereas in SIT1, efficiency was higher; in setting, it was observed that SIT2 presented better results in technical performance, adjustment and efficiency, whereas in SIT1, efficiency was higher; in SIT2, attack, better results were observed in adjustment and decision-making. It was concluded that environmental restrictions influence the behaviors of learners, showing that different ecological contexts provide actions inherent to the specific game environment.

Resumo Objetivou-se identificar os fatores preditivos da eficácia do ataque da equipe campeã da superliga feminina conforme o nível de desempenho das equipes adversárias. A amostra compôs-se pela observação de 1137 ataques ocorridos em 21 jogos da equipe campeã da Superliga Feminina 2015-2016. Os resultados mostraram-se significativos na identificação dos fatores preditivos da eficácia do ataque em confrontos contra adversários de desempenho elevado (x.=110,562; p<0,00001), intermediário (x.=64,134; p<0,00001) e baixo (x.=62,137; p<0,00001). Assim, conclui-se que ao enfrentar equipes de elevado desempenho o ataque potente para a posição 6 e o 2º tempo de ataque aumentaram as chances de pontuar no ataque; os ataques potentes para a posição 1 e 5 reduziram as chances de ocorrer a continuidade do jogo e o ataque potente para a posição 6 aumentaram as chances de ocorrer o bloqueio. Além disso, em jogos contra equipes de desempenho intermediário a recepção que permitiu o ataque organizado sem todas as opções de ataque reduziu as chances de pontuar no ataque e de continuidade do jogo, enquanto que a eficácia da recepção não mostrou-se como fator preditivo da eficácia do ataque em jogos contra adversários de elevado e baixo desempenho; e, finalmente, em jogos contra equipes de baixo desempenho o ataque potente para a posição 1 reduziu as chances de ocorrer a continuidade do jogo e o bloqueio do ataque.

Abstract The aim was to identify the predictive factors of the attack efficacy of the Brazilian women’s League Champion team according to the level of performance of the opposing team.The sample was composed of the observation of 1137 attacks in 21 games of the 2015-2016 Brazilian women’s Volleyball League champion team. The results were significant to identify the predictive factors of the attack efficacy against high (.2=110.562; .<0.00001), intermediate (.2=64.134; .<0.00001) and low (.2=62.137; .<0.00001) performance opponents. Thus, it is concluded that when playing against high- performance teams, powerful attack for position 6 and second attack tempo increase the chances of attack point; powerful attacks for position 1 and 5 reduce the chances of game continuation; and powerful attack for position 6 increases the chances of blocking. In addition, in games against intermediate-performance teams, reception that allows organized attack without all attack options reduces the chances of attack point and game continuation, while the reception effect did not seem to be a predictive factor of the attack efficacy in games against high- and low-performance opponents and, finally, in games against low-performance teams, powerful attack for position 1 reduces the chances of game continuation and attack blocking.

This study aimed to identify the predictive factors of attacks, performed from positions 1 and 6 according to the effect of reception in high level Brazilian male volleyball and to find the predictive factors that differentiate the game practiced from these positions. The sample consisted in the observation of 142 games of the Brazilian Men's Super League, totalling 2969 actions of reception, setting and attack from positions 1 and 6. The significance value adopted was 5% (p ≤ 0.05). The analysis of the predictive factors of the game performed by the attacker of position 1 showed greater chances to score after an excellent (odds ratio adjusted - ORA = 1.48) and moderate effect of reception (ORA = 1.31), the second attack tempo (ORA = 1.32), the powerful attack in parallel (ORA = 1.91) and in diagonal (ORA =3.44). The attacker of position 6 showed higher chances of scoring after a high effect of reception (ORA = 3.39) and powerful attack in the parallel (ORA = 1.53). In conclusion, regardless the effect of reception, the use of the back-row attackers is recommended to increase the uncertainty on the opposing team and the chances to score.

Resumo O presente estudo objetivou analisar a associação entre o efeito da recepção e os procedimentos de jogo praticados pela equipe campeã da superliga feminina no side-out, bem como o comportamento do bloqueador central adversário, segundo o nível de desempenho da equipe adversária. A amostra constituiu-se pela observação de 21 jogos da equipe campeã da Superliga Feminina 2015-2016. Para análise dos dados utilizou-se o teste de Qui-Quadrado, software SPSS versão 20.0 para Windows e significância de p≤0,05. Os resultados mostraram que houve associação do nível de desempenho da equipe que sacou com o efeito da recepção (χ2=12,96 e ɸ =0,14, p=0,01), bem como do efeito da recepção com à disposição do bloqueador central (χ2=13,70 ɸ =0,14, p=0,01), com o tempo de ataque (χ2=353,27 e ɸ =0,72, p<0,001), com o local do ataque (χ2=91,05 e ɸ =0,36, p<0,001) e com o efeito do ataque (χ2=30,11 e ɸ =0,21, p<0,001), segundo o nível de desempenho do adversário. Em conjunto, os resultados mostraram que houve diferença nos procedimentos de jogo conforme a classificação da equipe adversária, contribuindo para melhor compreensão do jogo praticado no voleibol feminino de alto nível.

Abstract The present study aimed to analyze the association between effect of reception and game procedures practiced by the women’s “superliga” champion team in the side-out, as well as the behavior of the opposing central blocker, according to the performance level of the opposing team. The sample was composed of the observation of 21 games of the 2015-2016 Women’s “Superliga” champion team. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test, SPSS software version 20.0 for Windows and significance of p≤0.05. The results showed that there was an association between performance level of the opposing team with the effect of reception (χ2=12.96 and ɸ =0,14, p=0,01), as well the effect of reception with the central blocker disposal (χ2=13.70 and ɸ =0.14, p=0.01), with the attack tempo (χ2=353.27 and ɸ =0.72, p<0.001), with the attack site (χ2=91.05 and ɸ =0.36, p<0.001) and the attack effect (χ2=30.11 and ɸ =0.21, p<0.001) according to the performance level of the opposing team. Together, the results showed that there were differences in the game procedures according to the opposing team classification, contributing to a better understanding of the game played in high-level women’s volleyball.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi identificar o efeito do ataque das posições 1 e 6 no voleibol masculino brasileiro de alto nível, no intuito de compreender melhor a estruturação ofensiva do jogo. A amostra constituiu-se pela observação de 142 jogos da Superliga Masculina 2014-2015, totalizando 2969 ações de recepção, levantamento e ataque das posições 1 e 6. Os resultados mostraram que houve associação entre o local do ataque, o tempo de ataque, o tipo de ataque e o efeito do ataque (p<0,001). Os resultados mostraram que o ponto de ataque, quando o mesmo é realizado a partir da posição 6, associa-se ao ataque na paralela, enquanto, ao analisar a posição 1, o ponto de ataque associa-se ao ataque potente na diagonal. Além disso, o ataque colocado associou-se à continuidade do jogo, assim como as recepções de baixa qualidade (b e c). Neste contexto, conclui-se que a posição do atacante influencia na eficácia do ataque utilizado, segundo o tempo de ataque e o tipo de ataque.

Abstract The aim of this study was to identify the effect of attacks from positions 1 and 6 in high-level Brazilian Men’s Volleyball in order to understand the offensive structure of the game. The sample was composed of the observation of 142 2014-2015 Men’s Superleague games, totaling 2969 reception, set and attack actions from positions 1 and 6. The results showed association between place of attack, attack tempo, type of attack and effect of attack (p<0.001). The results showed that the point of attack, when it is performed from position 6, is associated with parallel attack, while, when analyzing position 1, the point of attack is associated with potent diagonal attack. Furthermore, placed attack was associated with game continuity, as well as with low-quality receptions (b and c). In this context, it was concluded the attacking position influences the attack efficacy, according to time and type of attack.

Resumo O objetivo do presente estudo foi o de analisar a associação entre as variáveis de jogo na estruturação ofensiva a partir da zona em que o ataque é executado no voleibol masculino de alto nível. A amostra foi composta por 12 equipes, com a análise de 142 jogos, totalizando 19.545 ações de recepção, levantamento e ataque. Os dados foram analisados através da estatística descritiva e ao teste do qui-quadrado para verificação da associação entre as variáveis. Os resultados mostraram associação entre o tempo de ataque e o efeito do ataque, entre o tipo de ataque e a zona do ataque e entre a zona do ataque e o tempo e efeito do ataque. Conclui-se que as equipes brasileiras subutilizam os ataques do fundo de quadra, sendo a estruturação ofensiva efetivada através do jogo mais rápido, o que é fundamental na conquista do ponto, principalmente nos ataques realizados das posições 2, 3 e 4. Além disso, a qualidade da recepção mostrou-se como fator precursor na construção do ataque. Observou-se ainda que não houve ataques de 1º tempo pelo fundo de quadra, indicando que é necessária a mudança do tipo de jogo, especificamente com o incremento de velocidade dos levantamentos para os ataques realizados pelo fundo de quadra.

Abstract The aim of the present study was to analyze the association between variables of the game on the offensive structure from the zone in which attack is performed in high-level Men’s volleyball. The sample was composed by 12 teams, with the analysis of 142 games, which totalized 19,545 reception, set and attack actions. Data analyses were run with descriptive statistic and the qui-quadratic test for searching association between the variables. The results showed association between tempo of attack and attack effect, type of attack and attack zone and attack zone and tempo of attack and attack effect. It was concluded that Brazilian teams underuse backcourt attacks, and the offensive structure accomplished through the faster game, which is mainly important on attacks carried out in positions 2, 3 and 4. Furthermore, the reception quality proved to be the precursor factor in the construction of attack. It was also observed that there was no 1st tempo of attacks from the backcourt, indicating that it is necessary to change the type of game, specifically with the increment of the speed of sets conducted by the backcourt.

Resumo Dentre os fundamentos do voleibol, o ataque mostra-se como responsável pelo maior número de pontos, sendo que o ataque de primeiro tempo se relaciona com a maior ocorrência do ponto, por dificultar a ação defensiva do adversário. Contudo, a maior parte desses estudos apresentam resultados generalizados, não especificando as condições situacionais e os constrangimentos especificadores de cada zona de ataque. Assim, o presente estudo tem por objetivo analisar o jogo no complexo I praticado pelo atacante central da Superliga Brasileira de Voleibol Masculina 2014/2015. Compõem a amostra 12 equipes, sendo observados 142 jogos, totalizando 5350 ações de recepção, levantamento e ataque. Para a análise exploratória recorreu-se à estatística descritiva e para a associação entre as variáveis recorreu-se ao teste do Qui-Quadrado. Os resultados apontaram que os ataques ocorreram, em sua maioria, após recepções A e B, sendo o ponto de ataque mais recorrente, bem como os ataques potentes. Além disso, observou-se a relação entre o efeito da recepção e o tipo de levantamento com tipo de ataque, bem como relação do tipo de levantamento com o efeito do ataque. Assim, conclui-se que o jogo praticado pelo atacante central se mostrou eficiente para a conquista do ponto, uma vez que diminuiu as chances de defesa do adversário, devido a redução do tempo para a organização defensiva. Por fim, verificou-se que as restrições situacionais delimitaram a ação do jogador central, sugerindo que futuras pesquisas busquem restringir as situações de análise e os constrangimentos situacionais de cada situação específica de jogo.

Abstract Among volleyball skills, spike is responsible for the highest number of scores, and the first tempo of attack is related to the higher incidence of score a point, by hindering the defensive opponent’s action. However, most of the studies show general results and do not specify the conditions and constraints of each attack zone. Thus, the aim of this study was analyzing the offensive game (complex I) performed by the middle attacker at the 2014/2015 National men’s Brazilian Championship (Superliga). The sample was composed by 142 games of 12 teams, totaling 5350 receptions, setting and spikes actions. The results showed that the middle spikes occurred mostly after receptions A and B, being the most frequent attack scoring point as well as the most powerful one. Moreover, the relationship between the reception effect and setting effect was observed, showing that the best receptions influenced the setting type and the attack effect. Therefore, the middle attack had effective effect in the winning score, since it decreased the chances of opponent’s defense, due to the reduced time to defensive organization. Finally, the situational constraints delimited the middle attacker actions. Based on the above, we suggest that future studies should restrict the analysis conditions and situational constraints of each specific game situation.

O estudo buscou identificar em situação de Complexo I possíveis fatores preditores da vitória/derrota no voleibol. Foram analisados dezoito jogos, sendo três de cada equipa participante da Superliga Feminina 2011/2012 (Brasil). Aplicou-se a regressão logística multinomial, com o intuito de medir o grau de associação entre o efeito da receção, tipo de levantamento, tempo de ataque, tipo de ataque, tipo de oposição e efeito do ataque com o resultado final do set (vitória ou derrota). Os resultados demostram que as chances de derrota no set são aumentadas com os erros de receção, com as receções moderadas, com os erros de ataque e com os ataques que promovem a continuidade do jogo. O estudo indica a relevância da receção para a obtenção da vitória, em conjunto com a eficácia ofensiva, por meio da limitação do contra-ataque oponente ou pela própria aquisição do ponto.

The study aimed to identify in a situation of side-out possible predictors of winning/losing in volleyball. Eighteen games were analyzed, three of each team participating in the Women Super league 2011/2012 (Brazil). The multinomial logistic regression was calculates to measure the level of association between Reception Effect, Setting’s Type, Attack Time, Attacking Conditions, Opposition Type and Attack Effect and the Outcome Set (win or lose).The results showed that the probability off a loss was increased with receiving errors, moderate receiving, attacking errors and with attacks that promote the game’s continuity. This study suggests that both offensive effectiveness, characterized by limiting the opponent’s counterattack or even winning the point, and reception are important to obtain the victory.
