Resumo: O presente trabalho versa sobre as dificuldades que os alunos do Curso de Licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas do Instituto Federal do Amazonas enfrentam quando estudam a disciplina Genética. Diante desse panorama, fizemos um ensaio preliminar para elaborar uma Teoria Substantiva que explicasse o motivo pelo qual ocorria tal fenômeno. Diante disso, seguimos os três passos recomendados pela Teoria Fundamentada: (1) a codificação aberta; (2) a codificação axial e (3) a codificação seletiva. Os métodos da Teoria Fundamentada se basearam em diretrizes sistemáticas, ainda que flexíveis, para coletar e analisar os dados visando à construção de teorias. Portanto, para esse estudo, elaboramos a seguinte Teoria Substantiva: a dificuldade de compreensão dos assuntos de Genética leva o aluno a uma interpretação incompleta dos fatos (fenômenos) em decorrência de uma percepção esporádica, não desenvolvendo assim atitudes reflexivas para o devido entendimento (entende, mas não interpreta) dos assuntos relacionados à Genética.

Abstract: This paper talks about the difficulties that students of Biological Sciences Degree Course of Amazonas Federal Institute face when studying genetics. Against this background, we did a preliminary experiment to establish a Substantive Theory to explain why this phenomenon occurred. Therefore, we follow the three steps recommended by the Grounded Theory: 1) open coding; 2) the axial coding and 3) the selective coding. The methods of Grounded Theory is based on systematic guidelines, although flexible, to collect and analyze data in order to build theories. Therefore, for this study, we developed the following Substantive Theory: "The difficulty in understanding genetics leads the student to an incomplete interpretation of the facts (phenomena) as a result of a sporadic perception, and thus not developing reflective attitudes for a proper understanding (understanding but not interpretation) of the issues relating to Genetics."

The use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) emphasizes the potentialy significant interaction that emerges from multimedia in a globalized society. When it comes to ICT and its usage in the teaching learning process of chemistry, the teacher usually thinks of planning a class as a perfect script; the access to it becomes easier through the use of microcomputers and the Internet. The new PC software also contributes to this goal and becomes indispensable for setting classes with motivating technological resources. This article presents the report of an experiment conducted in an Amazonense school using Windows Movie Maker software. The results show that the use of ICT helped to provide the construction of knowledge in students, in particular, using the history of chemistry as a research source. The observations made during the development of the research were not definitive, but served for moving towards some objectives in the teaching-learning process in a meaningful way.

El uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación (TIC) hace énfasis en la interacción potencialmente significativa que emerge de una sociedad multimedia y globalizada. Cuando se habla de la utilización de las TIC en el proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de la química se acostumbra pensar en un planteamiento del aula con un guión perfecto. El acceso es más simple a través del uso de microcomputadoras e internet. Los nuevos programas presentes en las PC colaboran también y se vuelven indispensables para el establecimiento de clases con recursos tecnológicos motivadores. Este artículo presenta un relato de una experiencia desarrollada en una escuela del Amazonas, con el empleo del software Windows Movie Maker, y cómo el uso de las TIC contribuyó a proporcionar la construcción del conocimiento de los estudiantes, en particular, con el empleo de la historia de la química como fuente de investigación. Las observaciones realizadas durante el desarrollo de la investigación no fueron definitivas, mas fueron útiles para dirigirse hacia algunos objetivos del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje de forma significativa.
