ABSTRACT Objective: to understand how variables strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats make it possible to characterize work in Primary Health Care, to collectively propose strategies for systematizing this process with Family Health teams. Methods: methodological research, with 23 participants in direct relationship with Primary Care, including representatives of segments: care (work), management and social control. In one of the three pedagogical meetings, the SWOT matrix was used as a tool for organizational work planning. Results: applying the matrix resulted in the following thematic categories: Teamwork and regulations: key elements for interprofessionality at work; Continuing Health Education: path to autonomy and participatory management (co-management). Final considerations: the study promoted the systematization of teams’ work, through the mobilization of sectors and distribution of tasks, involving professionals in the co-management of the process.

RESUMEN Objetivo: comprender cómo las variables fortalezas, debilidades, oportunidades y amenazas permiten caracterizar el trabajo en la Atención Primaria de Salud, para proponer colectivamente estrategias para sistematizar ese proceso con los equipos de Salud de la Familia. Métodos: investigación metodológica, con 23 participantes en relación directa con la Atención Primaria, incluidos representantes de los segmentos: cuidado (trabajo), gestión y control social. En uno de los tres encuentros pedagógicos se utilizó la matriz FODA como herramienta para la planificación del trabajo organizacional. Resultados: la aplicación de la matriz resultó en las siguientes categorías temáticas: Trabajo en equipo y normativa: elementos clave para la interprofesionalidad en el trabajo; Educación Permanente en Salud: camino hacia la autonomía y la gestión participativa (cogestión). Consideraciones finales: el estudio promovió la sistematización del trabajo de los equipos, a través de la movilización de sectores y la distribución de tareas, involucrando profesionales en la cogestión del proceso.

Abstract Fixed orthodontic appliances may lead to biofilm accumulation around them that may increase caries risk. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of quaternary ammonium methacrylates (QAMs) on the physicochemical properties, cytotoxicity, and antibacterial activity of adhesive resins for orthodontic purposes. Methodology: A base resin was prepared with a comonomer blend and photoinitiator/co-initiator system. Two different QAMs were added to the base adhesive: dimethylaminododecyl methacrylate at 5 wt.% (DMADDM) or dimethylaminohexadecyl methacrylate (DMAHDM) at 10 wt.%. The base adhesive, without QAMs, (GC) and the commercial Transbond™ XT Primer 3M (GT) were used as control. The resins were tested immediately and after six months of aging in the water regarding the antibacterial activity and shear bond strength (SBS). The antibacterial activity was tested against Streptococcus mutans via metabolic activity assay (MTT test). The groups were also tested for the degree of conversion (DC) and cytotoxicity against keratinocytes. Results: The resins containing QAM showed antibacterial activity compared to the commercial material by immediately reducing the metabolic activity by about 60%. However, the antibacterial activity decreased after aging (p<0.05). None of the groups presented any differences for SBS (p>0.05) and DC (p>0.05). The incorporation of DMADDM and DMAHDM significantly reduced the keratinocyte viability compared to the GT and GC groups (p<0.05). Conclusion: Both adhesives with QAMs showed a significant reduction in bacterial metabolic activity, but this effect decreased after water aging. Lower cell viability was observed for the group with the longer alkyl chain-QAM, without significant differences for the bonding ability and degree of conversion. The addition of QAMs in adhesives may affect the keratinocytes viability, and the aging effects maybe decrease the bacterial activity of QAM-doped materials.

Abstract In forest nurseries, one of the factors that change the growth and quality of seedlings is water supply, which has a direct influence on metabolic processes such as stomatal conductance and photochemical efficiency of photosystem II. This study aims to identify the influence of different watering regimes as well as the use of a water-retaining polymer on the initial growth and metabolic processes of Enterolobium contortisiliquum seedlings. The experimental design was in random blocks with a factorial scheme. Morphological attributes, as well as physiological and biochemical attributes were investigated. We verified that the performance of E. contortisiliquum seedlings depends on the watering regime provided to the plants; furthermore, up to 60 days after the application of the treatments, both the height and diameter of the collection and the leaf water potential were similar in the water regimes of 8 mm day-1 and 12 mm day-1.

OBJETIVO: relatar a experiência de atuação fonoaudiológica para promoção da saúde baseada em visita domiciliar. MÉTODOS: a partir da realização de visitas domiciliares e entrevistas com um morador de cada domicílio visitado foram levantadas demandas gerais ligadas ao processo de saúde-doença, bem como realizadas as orientações e encaminhamentos para os serviços de atenção básica, quando necessário. RESULTADOS: foram visitadas 30 famílias, das quais 27 têm a mulher como principal provedora afetiva e financeira do núcleo familiar; sendo que nenhuma destas mulheres concluiu o ensino fundamental. Em média residem cinco moradores por domicílio, sendo pelo menos, duas crianças e um idoso; 10 das famílias visitadas não possuem, entre os residentes, alguém com trabalho fixo. As crianças costumam frequentar regularmente a escola. Tabagismo e alto índice de abandono dos estudos na adolescência também foram comumente referidos. Dentre as 63 crianças residentes nos domicílios visitados, os atrasos de linguagem e distúrbio fonológico consistem as alterações da comunicação humana mais comumente referidas, assim como o uso de chupeta e/ou mamadeira. Cada visita resultou em breve relato descritivo dos achados, bem como encaminhamentos e orientações realizadas. Sistematicamente foram realizadas discussões para revisão dos encaminhamentos feitos junto à equipe da unidade de saúde. CONCLUSÕES: os distúrbios de linguagem oral foram as alterações fonoaudiológicas mais comumente referidas pela população visitada, assim como a demanda por orientações em relação às funções do sistema sensório-motor-oral. Foram privilegiadas ações de promoção e educação em saúde a partir de visitas domiciliares. A continuação das atividades apresentadas prevê a avaliação da efetividade das ações desenvolvidas.

PURPOSE: to report the experience of SLP intervention for health promotion based on domiciliary visits. METHODS: from conducting domiciliary visits and interviews with a local inhabitant of each visited home we raised general demands in the process of health and illness, as well as the counseling and referrals for primary care services whenever needed. RESULTS: 30 families were visited, of which 27 have women as the main emotional and financial provider of the family, and none of these women completed primary school. On average there are five residents per household, with at least 2 children and an elderly, ten visited families do not have one permanent job. Children usually attend school regularly. Smoking and high rate of dropouts in adolescence were also commonly mentioned. Among the 63 children living in the visited homes, delays in language and phonological disorders consist of the most commonly mentioned alterations in human communication, as well as the use of a pacifier and / or bottle. Each visit resulted in a brief descriptive report on the findings, as well as referrals and advice were given. Systematical discussions were held in order to review the referrals made by the basic health unit team. CONCLUSIONS: the oral speech therapy related alterations were the most commonly referred to by the visited population, as well as the demand for guidance on the sensory-motor-oral functions. Focus has been place on health promotion and education based on domiciliary visits. The effectiveness of the actions performed should be evaluated.
