Resumo Este artigo questiona a redução da ação política à sua dimensão narrativa, e a da alteridade a uma identidade binária, fixa e projetiva. Para tanto, mobiliza dois planos analíticos que progressivamente se interceptam: o primeiro apreende criticamente as relações entre direito e literatura, que submetem a realidade a um regime narrativo; o segundo revisa alguns pontos da fortuna crítica dos gender, postcolonial e subaltern studies, que arriscam perder sua eficácia política em função de sua captura por narrativas dependentes de autenticações identitárias. Os planos se interceptam na problematização constante da alteridade reduzida a um ideal moral e ao propor uma análise a partir de uma pragmática de inspiração pós-estrutural e pós-identitária, capaz de enriquecer problematicamente as abordagens mais estruturais. Como resultados, define-se um corpus de questões transversais para uma agenda de pesquisa em movimentos sociais identitários que se beneficie da interação criativa entre essas matrizes teóricas.

Abstract This essay inquires the reduction of political agency to its narrative dimension, and also the reduction of otherness to a binary, fixed and projective identity. Therefore, the essay draws two analytical plans which progressively intercept each other: the first one, critically apprehends the relationship between law and literature, since it subsumes reality to a narrative regime; the second one, reviews some topics on the critic collection of gender, postcolonial and subaltern studies, that risk to lose their political efficacy due to its capture by identitarian narratives. Those two analytical planes intercept each other through the constant problematization of the reductionist conceptions of otherness, such as ideal and moral principles. They also converge in the proposal of a pragmatic enlivened by post-structuralist and post-identity trends, aiming to problematically enrich the more structural approaches. As results, the essay defines a corpus of transversal problems composing a research agenda on identitarian social movements which could benefit from the creative interaction between all those theoretical matrices.

RESUMO Objetivo: Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar a existência de associação entre o número de complicações clínicas por COVID-19 autorreferidas e as características biopsicossociais de pessoas acometidas em um município brasileiro. Métodos: Tratou-se de um estudo transversal (primeira visita de seguimento), aninhado em uma coorte com 217 casos confirmados de COVID-19, entrevistados de janeiro a outubro de 2021, durante visitas domiciliares, em um município ao sul de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Foi utilizado um questionário estruturado com o recurso KoboToolbox. Características sociodemográficas, clínicas (comorbidades), qualidade de vida, estresse pós-traumático, ansiedade, depressão e apoio social compuseram o elenco de variáveis independentes. A variável dependente foi expressa pelo número de complicações clínicas autorreferidas decorrentes da COVID-19. Para as análises, utilizou-se técnica de regressão linear multivariada. Resultados: Os participantes referiram múltiplas complicações clínicas por COVID-19. Em 94,6% dos casos houve “quatro ou mais” complicações relatadas. Ter hipertensão arterial prévia esteve associado a maior número de complicações pós-infecção pelo SARS-CoV-2, enquanto ter um cuidador e apresentar estresse pós-traumático se associaram a menor número de complicações por COVID-19. Conclusão: Depreende-se que o caráter multissistêmico das multicomplicações por COVID-19 e que as associações identificadas reforçam a necessidade de uma abordagem integral às pessoas acometidas, bem como de estudos que acompanhem os efeitos da doença sobre as demandas dos sistemas de saúde, a fim de melhor compreendê-los e melhor enfrentá-los.

Abstract: BRS 500 B2RF is a high-yielding cotton cultivar with transgenic resistance to lepidopteran pests and tolerance to the herbicide glyphosate. Additionally, BRS 500 B2RF has resistance to Ramularia leaf spot and partial resistance to root-knot nematode. It represents an important contribution to sustainable cotton production in Brazil.

Resumo Fundamento Ainda não temos informações acerca do impacto da pandemia da COVID-19 sobre a atividade médica assistencial no Brasil. Objetivo Descrever as repercussões da pandemia da COVID-19 na rotina de atendimentos em um hospital terciário, referência regional em cardiologia e oncologia. Métodos Estudo de corte transversal. Foi realizado levantamento dos atendimentos no período de 23/03/2020 (fechamento do comércio local) até 23/04/2020 (P20) e comparado com o mesmo período em 2019 (P19).Resultados: Detectamos redução no número de consultas cardiológicas, teste ergométrico, Holter, monitorização ambulatorial da pressão arterial, eletrocardiograma e ecocardiograma (90%, 84%, 94%, 92%, 94% e 81%, respectivamente). Em relação à cirurgia cardíaca e cateterismo cardíaco, houve redução de 48% e 60%, respectivamente. Aumento no número de angioplastia transluminal coronária (33%) e de implante de marca-passo definitivo (29%). Houve 97 internamentos na UTI em P19, contra 78 em P20, redução de 20%. Diminuição dos atendimentos no pronto-socorro cardiológico (45%) e nos internamentos na enfermaria de cardiologia (36%). Houve diminuição nas consultas oncológicas de 30%. Sessões de quimioterapia reduziram de 1.944 para 1.066 (45%). Sessões de radioterapia diminuíram 19%. Conclusão A COVID-19 provocou redução considerável no número de consultas nos ambulatórios de cardiologia, oncologia e demais especialidades. Houve uma preocupante diminuição no número de cirurgias cardíacas e nas sessões de quimioterapia e radioterapia nas semanas iniciais da pandemia. A procura por atendimento no pronto-socorro cardiológico, assim como as internações na UTI e enfermaria cardiológicas, também reduziram, gerando preocupação acerca da evolução e prognóstico destes pacientes portadores de outras patologias, que não a COVID-19, nestes tempos de pandemia. Abstract Background We still do not have information regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on medical care activity in Brazil. Objective To describe the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on the care routine of a tertiary hospital, which is a regional reference in cardiology and oncology. Methods Cross-sectional cohort study. We conducted a survey of medical visits from March 23, 2020 (when local commerce was closed) to April 23, 2020 (P20), in comparison with the same period in 2019 (P19). Results We found decreases in the number of cardiology consultations, exercise tests, Holter, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, electrocardiogram, and echocardiogram (90%, 84%, 94%, 92%, 94%, and 81%, respectively). In relation to cardiac surgery and cardiac catheterization, there were 48% and 60% decreases, respectively. There was an increase in the number of percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasties (33%) and definitive pacemaker implantations (29%). There were 97 admissions to the ICU during P19, in contrast with 78 during P20, a 20% decrease. Visits to the cardiac emergency room (45%) and admissions to the cardiology ward (36%) also decreased. The decrease in oncology consultations was 30%. Chemotherapy sessions decreased from 1,944 to 1,066 (45%), and radiotherapy sessions decreased by 19%. Conclusion COVID-19 has led to a considerable decrease in the number of consultations in outpatient clinics for cardiology, oncology, and other specialties. There was a concerning decrease in the number of cardiac surgeries, chemotherapy sessions, and radiotherapy sessions during the initial weeks of the pandemic. The number of people seeking care in the cardiac emergency room and the number of admissions to the cardiology ward and ICU also decreased, generating concern regarding the evolution and prognosis of these patients with pathologies other than COVID-19 during this pandemic time. The introgressed transgenic events Bollgard II® and Roundup Ready Flex® confer enhanced resistance to lepidopteran pests and tolerance to the herbicide glyphosate, respectively. Fiber length exceeds 32.5 mm and fiber strength 33 gf tex-1.

Abstract BRS 372 and BRS 416 are cotton cultivars with high lint yield and genetic resistance to the main cotton diseases in Brazil, particularly to Ramularia Leaf Spot. They have stable yields, good fiber quality and can contribute to a sustainable cotton disease management in tropical environments.

Resumo O estresse é uma resposta a uma situação na qual, um indivíduo quer ter mais controle. Um estado de estresse constante é chamado de ansiedade. Alguns pacientes negam sintomas. Um instrumento pode auxiliar um diagnóstico. Objetivo: Utilizando o QEEG TQ-7, este estudo objetivou avaliar a associação dos sintomas de ansiedade, insegurança, medo, pânico e/ou fobia com a categoria de temporais quentes definidos como Beta (15-23 Hz) >17% e Beta-Alta (23-38 Hz) >10% em T3 e T4. Métodos: Foram avaliados 543 pacientes de ambos os gêneros na faixa etária de 16-59 anos, divididos: Controle (sem temporais quentes: n=274) Grupo estudado (com temporais quentes: n=269). Foi utilizado o teste qui-quadrado (p-valor ≤0.05). Resultados: Houve associação significativa (p-valor <0.001) entre os sintomas relacionados à ativação da amigdala, expressos nos temporais (Beta >17% e Beta-Alta >10%). (Ansiedade, T3=89,6% - T4=88,8%; T3=92,6% - T4=93,3%), (Medo, T3=80,7% - T4=84,4%; T3=82,9% - T4=95,9%), (Insegurança, T3=82,2% - T4=81,4%; T3=69,5% - T4=97,8%), (Pânico, T3=52.4% - T4=72.5%; T3=90.3% - T4=74.0%), (Fobia, T3=17,5% - T4=22,7%; T3=19,7% - T4=27,1%), quando comparados aos respectivos controles (Beta controle, T3=8,4%, 10,2%, 21,2%, 1,1%, 0,4% e T4=11,3%, 4,4%, 23,0%, 2,6%, 1,1%) e (Beta-Alta Controle, T3=4,0%, 6,9%, 6,2%, 0,4%, 0,0%; T4=17,5%, 6,2%, 3,3%, 4,0%, 0,7%). Conclusão: Ansiedade, insegurança, medo, pânico e fobia são observados no QEEG, quando Beta >17% e Beta-Alta >10% em T3 e T4.

Abstract Stress is a response in which an individual wants to have more control over a situation. A constant state of stress is called anxiety. Some patients deny symptoms. An instrument can help arrive at a diagnosis. Objective: Using TQ-7 QEEG, this study aimed to evaluate the association of symptoms of anxiety, insecurity, fear, panic and phobia with hot temporals defined as Beta (15-23 Hz) >17% and High-Beta waves (23-38 Hz) >10% at T3 and T4. Methods: Five hundred and forty-three patients of both genders with ages ranging from 16-59 years were evaluated, divided into two groups: Control (without hot temporals: n=274) and Case Group (with hot temporals: n=269). The Chi-square test was used (p-values ≤0.05). Results: There was a significant association (p-value <0.001) between the symptoms related to amygdala activation, expressed in the temporals (Beta >17% and High-Beta >10%). (Anxiety, T3=89.6% - T4=88.8%; T3=92.6% - T4=93.3%), (Fear, T3=80.7% - T4=84.4%; T3=82.9% - T4=95.9%), (Insecurity, T3=82.2% - T4=81.4%; T3=69.5% - T4=97.8%), (Panic, T3=52.4 - T4=72.5%; T3=90.3% - T4=74.0%), (Phobia, T3=17.5% - T4=22.7%; T3=19.7% - T4=27.1%), when compared to the respective controls (Beta control, T3=8.4%, 10.2%, 21.2%, 1.1%, 0.4% and T4=11.3%, 4.4%, 23.0%, 2.6%, 1.1%) (High-Beta control, T3=4.0%, 6.9%, 6.2%, 0.4%, 0.0% and T4=17.5%, 6.2%, 3.3%, 4.0%, 0.7%). Conclusion: Anxiety, insecurity, fear, panic and phobia are observed by QEEG when the levels of total Beta >17% and High-Beta waves >10% at T3 and T4.

Important properties in cementitious materials, such as concrete, are related to the presence of additives that influence the rigidity and the physical and chemical resistances. For the evaluation of the additive effectiveness, known as pozzolanic activity, a simple procedure, the Chapelle test, is commonly used, and it essentially consists in a reaction between the additive with calcium oxide in aqueous medium. However, such procedure presents limitations in terms of processing time and lack of information regarding the reactions kinetics. In this sense, a simple method based on the kinetic and thermodynamic principles of chemical reactions is proposed, which can be performed using conventional electronic pH sensors. The study provides an alternative methodology with many advantages over the traditional procedure, such as energy and time-savings, more robustness and more confidence. In this paper, three types of silica nanoparticles that can be used as low-cost additives were characterized in relation to their morphology and crystallinity by XRD and SEM, the particles average diameters were obtained and the particles were used for studying the chemical process that takes place during the Chapelle test. Results and the semi-empirical analysis provided strong evidence that the process is an acid-base 1:1 reaction and it was verified that the mean reaction times varied from 64 to 195 min. It is a remarkable result, since the proposed analysis can be performed with simple, fast and low-cost instrumentation and needs only a worksheet software, whereas the Chapelle test takes 16 hours and provides no dynamic information. Besides the limitation that the methodology is not able to quantify and to elucidate the effects of the specific surface area of the particles, which needs a complete BET study, the research provides a significant contribution for the understanding of the pozzolanic process, of great importance in both concrete and ceramic research.

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of preheating and post-curing methods on diametral tensile strength (DTS), flexural strength (FS), knoop microhardness (KHN), and degree of conversion (DC) of an experimental fiber-reinforced composite (FRC). Specimens (30 wt% of 3-mm-short E-glass fiber, 22.5 wt% of methacrylated-based resin and 47.5 wt% of filler particles) were subjected to: P – photocuring at 1500 mW/cm2 for 40 s (control); P/M – photocuring and microwave post-curing (540W/5 minutes); P/A – photocuring and autoclave post-curing (120°C/15 minutes); PH-P – preheating (60°C) and photocuring; PH-P/M – preheating, photocuring and microwave post-curing; and PH-P/A – preheating, photocuring and autoclave post-curing. Specimens for DTS (Ø 3 x 6 mm) and FS (25 x 2 x 2 mm) were tested at Instron 5965. KHN employed a 50g load for 30s. DC was measured using FTIR spectroscopy. Statistical analysis employed: factorial analysis, normality test, one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s HSD test, independent T-test and the Dunnett test. Interaction between factors was not significant (P>0.05). Preheating promoted significantly higher values of FS and KHN (p = 0.0001). Post-curing promoted significantly higher values for KHN (p = 0.0001). For DTS (p = 0.066) and DC (p= 0.724) no statistical difference was found between groups. SEM images showed that preheating promoted better interaction between glass fibers and resin matrix. Preheating increased FS, KHN and DTS, and post-curing increased KHN. DC was not affected by both methods. Preheating and post-curing methods can be used to improve some mechanical properties of FRCs’ but degree of conversion remains unaffected.

Abstract Cotton cultivar BRS 368RF was developed by EMBRAPA in a partnership with the Bahia Foundation, aiming to create high-yielding germplasm by adding transgenic traits addressed to Brazilian Savanna (cerrado) of the Northeast and North regions. BRS 368RF is a midseason cultivar and has yield stability and transgenic tolerance to glyphosate.

Abstract Cottonseed yield data of 17 genotypes, of which two genotypes contributed to more than 30% of the total ecovalence, and grown in 23 locations, were used to compare four methods of disjoint environmental stratification: a) environmental index (Ie): favorable or unfavorable environments; b) stratification in partitions that maximize the sum of squares of the genotype x partition interaction [(GP)m]; c) environmental scores of the second principal component of the GGE analysis (PC2-GGE); d) environmental scores of the first principal component of the AMMI analysis (PC1-AMMI). Scenarios were simulated (10,000 simulations per scenario) using combination of nine or 13 environments and 11 genotypes, either including or excluding those with the highest ecovalence values. In all scenarios, the greatest selection gains were obtained via PC2-GGE stratification, and the lowest selection gains were obtained via Ie. The ecovalences of the genotypes influenced the results obtained using the stratification methods.

This work evaluated the water absorption of glazed porcelain stoneware ceramic tiles using three different methods. Two methods were based on a procedure of boiling in water, specified by standards ISO 10545 and ASTM C373, and the third was the vacuum method proposed by the standard ISO 10545. The three products produced under the three different firing conditions were tested according to a 22 factorial design, with intervening factors of the boiling time and immersion time for the methods involving boiling, and of pressure and immersion time for the vacuum method. The maximum saturation of the plates was evaluated by helium gas pycnometry testing. The results showed that no sample saturation occurs in the boiling water absorption test performed according to the conditions established by standards ISO 10545 and ASTM C373. The values of open porosity, using the method of helium gas picnometry, showed absolute values of saturation higher than those presented by the water absorption measured according to the current standards. Thus, the results showed that the current methods for determining the water absorption of glazed porcelain stoneware ceramic tiles do not guarantee the complete saturation of the plates and, therefore, they are not able to correctly measure this property.

RESUMO. O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar a vitreosidade em híbridos comerciais de milho com grãos duros e dentados, e estudar o efeito desta característica no comportamento agronômico, valor nutricional e na degradabilidade ruminal dos grãos colhidos no ponto de silagem. Foram avaliados 12 híbridos comerciais de milho. Estes híbridos foram divididos em dois grupos (seis com grãos duros e seis com grãos dentados). Os experimentos foram conduzidos em dois municípios representados por Guarapuava e Laranjeiras do Sul, no Paraná. A colheita para análise da qualidade dos grãos foi feita no estádio de 3/4 da linha do leite no grão. Foram avaliadas as seguintes características: produtividade de grão secos, produtividade de grãos no ponto de ensilagem, vitreosidade, digestibilidade ruminal de grãos, fibra em detergente neutro, fibra em detergente ácido e proteína bruta. Há uma melhor digestibilidade ruminal dos grãos no grupo de híbridos dentados, associada a menor vitreosidade quando comparada ao grupo de híbridos duros. Existe correlação negativa entre a vitreosidade e a digestibilidade dos grãos e podem ser um critério para selecionar genótipos destinados à produção de forragem.

ABSTRACT. The aim of this research was to evaluate vitreousness in commercial corn hybrids with flint and dent grains and to study the effect of this characteristic on agronomic behavior, nutritional value, and ruminal degradability of grains harvested in silage maturity. Twelve commercial corn hybrids were evaluated. They were divided in two groups (six with flint grains and six with dent grains). The experiments were conducted in two municipalities represented by Guarapuava and Laranjeiras do Sul, both in Paraná State. The harvest for the grain quality analysis was performed at 3/4 of the milk line stage in the grain. The following characteristics were evaluated: grain yield, grain yield in silage maturity, vitreousness, ruminal digestibility of grain, neutral detergent fiber, acid detergent fiber and crude protein. The grains in the group of dent hybrids exhibited better degradability associated with lower vitreousness than the group of flint hybrids. The group of dent hybrids exhibited better ruminal digestibility of the grains associated with lower vitreousness versus the group of flint hybrids. There is a negative correlation between vitreousness and the digestibility of the grain; thus, vitreousness can be a criterion for selecting genotypes for forage production.

RESUMO Testamos o efeito de um aparato que pudesse induzir o uso de ferramentas no comportamento de seis macacos-prego cativos. Utilizamos “animal focal” para o tempo gasto em estados comportamentais gerais e estados indicativos de estresse, concomitantemente com “todas as ocorrências” de eventos agonísticos e de comportamentos estereotipados. O grupo mostrou perfis de orçamento de atividades diversificados, com respostas variadas aos fatores estressantes a que estavam expostos. Alguns indivíduos reduziram alguns comportamentos indicativos de estresse, porém não houve variação significativa para o grupo. Conclui-se que o aparato não foi eficiente, mostrando suas limitações como medida de enriquecimento para a espécie. Em razão dos efeitos individuais, sugerimos, no entanto, que a técnica possa ser eficaz em grupos específicos ou condições muito estressantes.

ABSTRACT We tested the effect of an apparatus that could induce tool use on the behavior of six captive Capuchin Monkeys. We used “focal-animal” to estimate the time spent in general behavioral states and those indicative of stress, and “all occurrences” of agonistic and stereotypic behavioral events. The group showed different profiles of activity budget, with varied responses to stressing factors. Some individuals reduced the behaviors indicative of stress, but there was no significant variation for the group. We concluded that the apparatus was inefficient, limited as measure of enrichment for the species. However, due to individual effects, we suggest that the technique can be effective for specific individuals or groups under very stressful conditions.
