Resumo A influência do metilfenidato no desempenho das funções executivas e atenção tem sido bastante estudada no transtorno do déficit de atenção/hiperatividade. Este artigo consiste em um estudo de revisão sistemática de pesquisas publicadas entre 2010 e 2016 e que envolvem a verificação do perfil de desempenho em funções executivas e atenção de crianças e/ou adolescentes com TDAH que usam ou não metilfenidato. Foram utilizados os descritores executive functions AND methylphenidate, adhd, attention. A análise dos artigos revelou que o metilfenidato é considerado a substância de primeira escolha para o TDAH e que sua eficácia é mais comprovada no controle inibitório e na flexibilidade cognitiva. São necessários mais estudos no que se refere à memória de trabalho e atenção.

Abstract The influence of methylphenidate in performance of executive functions and attention has been much studied on attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. This article consists of a systematic review study of public researches between 2010 and 2016 that involves a verification of the performance profile on executive functions and attention of children and/or adolescents with ADHD, using methylphenidate or not. As descriptors, the following expressions were used: executive functions AND methylphenidate, adhd, attention. The analysis of the articles revealed that methylphenidate is considered a first-choice substance for ADHD and that its efficacy is better demonstrated on inhibitory control and cognitive flexibility. There is a need for more studies regarding working memory and attention.

Resumo Objetivou-se comparar o desempenho em Funções Executivas (FEs: controle inibitório, memória de trabalho auditiva e visuoespacial, flexibilidade cognitiva e fluência verbal) de crianças com TDAH, com dificuldade de leitura (DL), com comorbidade entre TDAH e dificuldade de leitura (TDAH/DL) e sem queixas de TDAH e dificuldades de leitura (SDL). Participaram 104 crianças, de ambos os sexos, com idades entre 8 e 11 anos. Os resultados apontaram piores desempenhos do TDAH/DL na maioria das FEs avaliadas quando comparado aos demais grupos. O grupo de crianças TDAH apresentou melhor desempenho do que o DL em fluência verbal semântica. O SDL obteve melhores escores que o TDAH/DL e o DL em praticamente todas as FEs avaliadas, mas não se diferenciou do TDAH.

Abstract The objective of this study was to compare the Executive Functions performance (EFs: inhibitory control, auditory and visuospatial working memory, cognitive flexibility and verbal fluency) between children with ADHD, reading difficulties (RD), comorbidity ADHD/RD and without complaints of ADHD and RD (WRD). Participated 104 children, of both sexes, aged between eight and 11 years old. The results indicated worse performance of ADHD/RD group in the majority EFs. ADHD presented better performance than DL in semantic verbal fluency. The WRD obtained better scores than the ADHD / DL and DL in practically all the evaluated EFs, but did not differ of ADHD.

Resumo: OBJETIVO: analisar a estimativa da habilidade em consciência fonológica de adultos não alfabetizados. MÉTODOS: participaram da pesquisa 44 adultos, de ambos os sexos, com a idade superior a 28 anos. Os adultos foram divididos em dois grupos, a saber: (1) não alfabetizados, (2) alfabetizados na infância. Utilizou-se os seguintes instrumentos: Ficha sobre dados sociodemográficos; Teste de Habilidades Preditoras da Leitura (THPL), composto por tarefas de rima, aliteração e segmentação, administrados de forma individual e em um tablet. RESULTADOS: ocorreu diferença significante na estimativa de habilidade em consciência fonológica entre os dois grupos. Destaca-se que a habilidade na tarefa de rimar foi significantemente superior no grupo de adultos alfabetizados. Observou-se que a tarefa de segmentar palavras foi considerada a mais difícil. Os resultados sugerem um padrão de habilidade, a saber: Aliteração > rima > segmentação. Um dado interessante refere-se ao tempo de execução da tarefa; foi verificado que houve diferença estatisticamente significante no que se refere ao tempo de execução das tarefas de aliteração, segmentação e rima entre os dois grupos analisados. CONCLUSÃO: ao verificar a correlação entre tempo de execução e habilidade na tarefa, foi possível perceber que a correlação não ocorreu nos dois grupos da mesma forma: no grupo de alfabetizados houve correlação positiva e no grupo de não alfabetizados correlação negativa.

Abstract: PURPOSE: to analyze the estimation of ability in phonological awareness of illiterate adults. METHODS: forty four adults, over the age of twenty eight and of both sexes, participated in the survey. The adults were divided into two groups, namely: (1) illiterate and (2) literate in childhood. The following instruments were used: Data on demographic data; Predictors of Reading Skills Test (THPL) test consists of tasks of rhyme, alliteration, and segmentation, administered individually and on a tablet. RESULTS: it occurs a significant difference in estimating ability in phonological awareness between the two groups. It is noteworthy that the ability to rhyme in the task was significantly higher in adult literacy. It was observed that the task of segmenting words has been considered more difficult. The results suggest a standard of skill, namely Alliteration> rhyme> targeting. An interesting finding relates to the execution time of the task, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference with regard to the execution time of the tasks of alliteration, rhyme and segmentation between the two groups. CONCLUSION: when verified the correlation between runtime and skill in the task, it was revealed that the correlation did not occur in both groups the same way: the group of positive correlation literate and illiterate group of negative correlation.

Analisa-se o repertório de estratégias de aprendizagem utilizado por escolares da cidade de Campina Grande, PB. Participaram do estudo 491 estudantes, de ambos os sexos, matriculados do 6° ao 9° ano do Ensino Fundamental de escolas particulares e públicas, com idade média de 12 anos e 7 meses (DP=1,7). Os resultados foram obtidos mediante a aplicação coletiva de uma escala de Estratégias de Aprendizagem e indicaram haver diferença no que concerne à utilização de estratégias por alunos repetentes e não repetentes, bem como quando comparados os grupos tomando por base a autopercepção do seu desempenho, sexo, idade, ano cursado e tipo de escola. Tais resultados sugerem que os estudantes podem ter consciência do uso efetivo das estratégias de aprendizagem, uma vez que as utilizam regularmente em seu cotidiano. Sugere-se, pois, que novos estudos sejam realizados visando aprofundar os resultados ora apresentados.

In this work, we analyze the repertoire of learning strategies used by schoolchildren of the city of Campina Grande, Paraiba, Brazil. The study included 491 students of both sexes enrolled in the 6 th to 9 th year of elementary school for private and public schools, with an average age of 12 years and 7 months (SD = 1.7). The results were obtained by applying a collective scale of Learning Strategies. They indicated that there is a difference regarding the use of strategies by repeating and non repeating students. The difference is visible too, when we study groups according to gender, age, year and type of school attended. These results suggest that students may be aware of effective use of learning strategies, since they use them regularly in their daily lives. Our research may suggest that further studies are needed in order to deepen and broaden the perception of the results presented here.

Se analiza el repertorio de estrategias de aprendizaje utilizado por escolares de la ciudad de Campina Grande, Paraíba. Participaron del estudio 491 estudiantes, de ambos sexos, matriculados del 6° al 9° año de Educación Básica de escuelas particulares y públicas, con edad promedio de 12 años y 7 meses (DP=1,7). Los resultados se obtuvieron mediante aplicación colectiva de una escala de Estrategias de Aprendizaje e indicaron que hay diferencia en lo concerniente a la utilización de estrategias por alumnos repitientes y no repitientes, así como cuando se comparan los grupos tomando por base la autopercepción de su rendimiento, sexo, edad, año cursado y tipo de escuela. Tales resultados sugieren que los estudiantes pueden tener conciencia del uso efectivo de estrategias de aprendizaje, una vez que las utilizan regularmente en su cotidiano. Se sugiere que sean realizados nuevos estudios con el objetivo de profundizar los resultados aquí presentados.

O presente estudo teve por objetivo analisar o desenvolvimento da competência emocional em crianças encontradas realizando trabalho informal nas ruas de duas cidades do nordeste brasileiro. Foram entrevistadas sessenta e sete crianças, com idades compreendidas entre quatro e doze anos, de ambos os sexos. O instrumento utilizado foi o Teste de Compreensão das Emoções. A coleta realizou-se no espaço da rua. Os resultados revelaram que apesar das crianças mais velhas terem obtido resultados melhores do que as mais novas estas diferenças não foram significativas. Foi observado que o Teste de Compreensão das Emoções foi bem aceito pelas crianças investigadas e revela-se como um instrumento de fácil utilização e que atinge os seus objetivos, no entanto sugerem-se novas investigações em contextos como o investigado.

The goal of the current research was to examine the development of nine components of emotions. For this purpose, 67 children, between 4 and 12 years old, who were found informally working on the streets of two cities in the Northeast of Brazil were interviewed. Children were given a version of the Test of Emotion Comprehension (TEC) to assess their understanding of nine different aspects of emotions. The collection of data happened in the space of the street. The results revealed that the oldest children obtained better results than the youngest ones. But these differences were not significant. It was observed that the TEC was well accepted by the investigated children and it is revealed as an instrument of easy use that reaches its objectives.

A pesquisa teve como objetivo a análise dos múltiplos domínios envolvidos na leitura e escrita de crianças e adolescentes. Foram investigados 162 sujeitos, de ambos os sexos, com idades variando entre 08 e 16 anos, cursando a 2ª, 3ª e 4ª séries do Ensino Fundamental da rede pública de uma cidade do interior do Nordeste. O desempenho cognitivo das crianças foi analisado através de atividades que envolviam leitura e ditado de palavras e de pseudopalavras, consciência fonológica, processamento auditivo e visual e velocidade de processamento. Os resultados revelaram atraso no desenvolvimento das habilidades avaliadas, com imprecisão e distorções no uso das rotas fonológica e lexical. Conclui-se que é preciso delinear projetos de intervenção visando desenvolver as habilidades de consciência fonológica, processamento auditivo e velocidade de processamento em crianças nas fases iniciais da aquisição da leitura e escrita.

Multiple domains involved in children and young people's reading and writing are analyzed. One hundred and sixty-two subjects, males and females, age bracket between 8 and 16 years, at the 2nd, 3rd and 4th grades of Fundamental Education in a government public school in a Brazilian northeast town, were investigated. Children's cognitive development was analyzed through activities which comprised reading, words and false words dictation, phonological awareness, visual and auditory processing and processing speed. Results revealed backwardness in skill development which included inaccuracy and distortion in the use of phonological and lexical themes. Projects in intervention for skill development, phonological awareness, auditory processing and processing speed should be outlined for children in the early stages of reading and writing acquisition.

La investigación tuvo como objetivo el análisis de los múltiples dominios envueltos en la lectura y escritura de niños y adolescentes. Se analizaron 162 sujetos, de ambos sexos, con edad entre 08 y 16 años, estudiando en 2ª, 3ª y 4ª series de la escuela primaria de la red pública de una ciudad en el interior del noreste. El rendimiento cognitivo de los niños se examinó a través de actividades relacionadas con lectura y dictado de palabras y pseudopalabras, conciencia fonológica, visual y auditiva y velocidad de procesamiento. Los resultados revelaron retraso en el desarrollo de las competencias evaluadas, con inexactitud y distorsiones en el uso de las rutas fonológica y lexical. Se deduce que es necesario esbozar proyectos de mediación para el desarrollo de las capacidades de conciencia fonológica, procesamiento auditivo y velocidad de procesamiento en niños en las primeras etapas de la adquisición de la lectura y escritura.
