Abstract Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the pharmaceutical interventions (PI) performed in PRM and the factors associated with their acceptance. Method: This is a descriptive and cross-sectional study that analyzed PIs performed on adult patients from two ICUs in Fortaleza, Brazil, in 2019. PIs were analyzed in the categories quantity of drug and pharmacological strategy, using the classification proposed by Sabater et al. The drugs were also classified by the Anatomical, Therapeutic, and Chemical Classification System and by the High Surveillance Drugs (FAV) classification. Results: 305 patients were included, most of them male (55.1 %), elderly (52.8 %) and treated in the surgical ICU (51.4 %). 1,317 PIs were analyzed and 88.0 % were accepted, being to replace one or more drugs (28.0 %), to add one or more drugs (27.7 %) and to change the dose (24.8 %) the most frequent types. The most prevalent therapeutic class was anti-infectives for systemic use (24.1 %) and AVFs were involved in 21.7 % of the PIs. An association was observed between PIs accepted and admission to the clinical ICU (p<0.0001), AVF (p=0.0013), substitution of one or more drugs (p=0.0062) and the class of blood substitutes and perfusion solutions. (p= 0.0187). Conclusions: A high number of PIs were performed and accepted, which reinforces the importance of the pharmacist in the review of medical prescriptions in the ICU.

Resumen Objetivo: El propósito de este estudio es evaluar las intervenciones farmacéuticas (IF) realizadas sobre PRM y los factores asociados a su aceptación. Método: Se trata de un estudio descriptivo y transversal que analizó las IF realizadas a pacientes adultos de dos UCI de Fortaleza, Brasil, en 2019. Las IF se analizaron en las categorías cantidad de fármaco y estrategia farmacológica, utilizando la clasificación propuesta por Sabater et al. Los fármacos se clasificaron además por el Sistema de Clasificación Anatómica, Terapéutica, Química y por la clasificación de Fármacos de Alta Vigilancia (FAV). Resultados: Se incluyeron 305 pacientes, siendo la mayoría del sexo masculino (55,1 %), ancianos (52,8 %) y atendidos en la UCI quirúrgica (51,4 %). Se analizaron 1.317 IF y se aceptaron el 88,0 %, siendo la sustitución de uno o más fármacos (28,0 %) y la adición de uno o más fármacos (27,7 %) las más frecuentes. La clase terapéutica más prevalente fue antiinfeccioso de uso sistémico (24,1 %) y los FAV estuvieron implicados en el 21,7 % de las IF. Se observó asociación entre las IF aceptadas e ingreso en UCI clínica (p<0,0001), FAV (p=0,0013), sustitución de uno o más fármacos (p=0,0062) y la clase sustitutos sanguíneos y soluciones de perfusión (p= 0,0187). Conclusiones: Se realizaron y aceptaron un elevado número de IF, lo que refuerza la importancia del farmacéutico en la revisión de las prescripciones médicas en UCI.

Abstract A 100-year-old male patient was admitted with a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm due to type IA endoleak. Given the proximity of the ruptured site to the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) and renal arteries, a ChEVAR was indicated. Catheterization of the target visceral vessels was a challenging procedural step because of an intensely tortuous thoracic aorta. This hostile aortic anatomy also inhibited exchange for a super stiff guide-wire and selective cannulation with the diagnostic catheter was repeatedly lost when guidewire exchange was attempted. To overcome this issue, a 5 x 40 mm balloon catheter was placed 3cm into the target arteries. The balloon was then inflated below the nominal pressure limit enabling safe exchange for a super stiff guidewire and placement of three 90-cm long 7Fr guiding sheaths. The procedure was thus safely performed with deployment of an aortic extension and the bridging stents.

Resumo Um paciente de 100 anos foi diagnosticado com um aneurisma de aorta abdominal roto por um endoleak 1A. Pela proximidade do ponto de ruptura com a artéria mesentérica superior (AMS) e as artérias renais, um ChEVAR foi indicado. A cateterização das artérias-alvo foi um passo desafiador pela intensa tortuosidade da aorta torácica. Essa anatomia aórtica hostil também impediu a troca por um fio-guia extra-rígido, e a cateterização seletiva foi repetidamente perdida quando a troca de fio-guia foi tentada. Para superar essa dificuldade, um cateter balão 5mm x 40mm foi posicionado nas artérias-alvo. O balão foi, então, insuflado abaixo da pressão nominal, permitindo uma troca segura do fio-guia por um fio-guia extra-rígido e o posicionamento de três bainhas longas 7Frx 90cm. Assim, o procedimento foi executado de forma segura, com o implante de uma extensão aórtica e dos stents recobertos.

ABSTRACT Objective To describe the radiological characteristics of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) lesions that achieved a complete response following drug-eluting bead transarterial chemoembolization (DEB-TACE) preceding liver transplantation. Methods This single-center case-control study enrolled patients with hepatocellular carcinoma who underwent neoadjuvant DEB-TACE therapy, were followed up with contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging or computed tomography, and were successively evaluated according to the modified Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors. The HCCs were divided into two groups based on their diameter (Group A: ≤3cm; Group B: 3cm). Viability was assessed using the Kaplan-Meier method according to tumor size categories. The relationship between tumor variables was analyzed using bivariate Cox regression. Results Three-hundred and twenty-eight patients with 667 hepatocellular carcinomas who underwent their first DEB-TACE session were enrolled. A total of 105 hepatocellular carcinomas in 59 patients exhibited complete response after the initial DEB-TACE session and were divided into Group A (92 HCCs) and Group B (13 HCCs). The diameter in Group A decreased significantly compared to the pre-procedure size until the second assessment (p<0.001), with no subsequent reduction in diameter, despite maintaining a complete response. In Group B, the reduction in diameter remained significant compared with the initial value until the sixth imaging evaluation (p=0.014). The average reduction was 45.1% for Group B and a maximum of 14.9% in Group A. Conclusion HCCs >3cm exhibited a greater reduction in size and a longer time to recurrence. HCCs ≤3cm had a shorter relapse time. The recurrence rates were similar. These findings may aid in planning for liver transplantation.

Abstract Periodontal diseases (PD) are inflammatory conditions that affect the teeth supporting tissues. Increased body fat tissues may contribute to activation of the systemic inflammatory response, leading to comorbidities. Some studies have shown that individuals with obesity present higher incidence of PD than eutrophics. Objective: To investigate the impact of obesity on periodontal tissues and oral microbiota in mice. Methodology: Two obesity mice models were performed, one using 12 weeks of the dietary protocol with a high-fat (HF) diet in C57BL/6 mice and the other using leptin receptor-deficient mice (db/db-/-), which became spontaneously obese. After euthanasia, a DNA-DNA hybridization technique was employed to evaluate the microbiota composition and topical application of chlorhexidine (CHX), an antiseptic, was used to investigate the impact of the oral microbiota on the alveolar bone regarding obesity. Results: Increased adipose tissue may induce alveolar bone loss, neutrophil recruitment, and changes in the oral biofilm, similar to that observed in an experimental model of PD. Topical application of CHX impaired bone changes. Conclusion: Obesity may induce changes in the oral microbiota and neutrophil recruitment, which are associated with alveolar bone loss.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Meta-analyses have demonstrated that isometric handgrip training (IHT) decreases blood pressure in hypertensive individuals. Nonetheless, most studies were conducted in laboratory settings and its effects in real-world settings remain unclear. OBJECTIVE: To analyze the effects of IHT on office and ambulatory blood pressure in hypertensive patients attended within primary healthcare. DESIGN AND SETTING: Randomized controlled trial conducted in primary healthcare units within the Family Health Program, Petrolina, Pernambuco, Brazil. METHODS: 63 hypertensive patients (30-79 years old; 70% female) were randomly allocated into IHT or control groups. IHT was performed three times per week (4 x 2 minutes at 30% of maximal voluntary contraction, one-minute rest between bouts, alternating the hands). Before and after the 12-week training period, office and ambulatory blood pressure and heart rate variability were obtained. The significance level was set at P < 0.05 (two-tailed testing) for all analyses. RESULTS: IHT significantly decreased office systolic blood pressure (IHT: 129 ± 4 versus 121 ± 3 mmHg, P < 0.05; control: 126 ± 4 versus 126 ± 3 mmHg, P > 0.05), whereas there was no effect on diastolic blood pressure (IHT: 83 ± 3 versus 79 ± 2 mmHg, P > 0.05; control: 81 ± 3 versus 77 ± 3 mmHg, P > 0.05). Heart rate variability and ambulatory blood pressure were not altered by the interventions (P > 0.05 for all). CONCLUSION: IHT reduced office systolic blood pressure in hypertensive patients attended within primary care. However, there were effects regarding diastolic blood pressure, ambulatory blood pressure or heart rate variability. CLINICALTRIALS.GOV IDENTIFIER: NCT03216317.

Abstract Background Resistant hypertension (RH) is manifested by the presence of blood pressure values resistant to antihypertensive therapy. RH is highly prevalent among black individuals, increasing cardiovascular risk in this population and requiring effective control of this comorbidity. Objectives To investigate the medication profile and therapeutic adherence in black people with apparent RH. Methods This is a cross-sectional study, with a convenience sample of individuals with apparent RH. Data were obtained from medical records. Therapeutic adherence was assessed using the Morisky Therapeutic Adherence Scale of 8 items (MMAS-8) and statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS, version 23. Significance was set at p <0.05. Results Of the 120 individuals, 90 (75%) were women and 72 (60%) were black. Mean SBP was 153.09 (SD 25.59) mm Hg and mean DBP, 90.82 (SD 16.91) mm Hg, with a statistical difference in relation to the target pressure for SBP. Regarding the medication profile, 79.2% of the individuals used the recommended regimen for RH (ACEI / ARB + Diuretic + CCB), with the fourth most used drug being beta-blockers. The average score in MMAS-8 was 6.62 (SD 1.38) points, with 19.2%, 50.0%, and 30.8% showing low, medium, and high adherence, respectively. Conclusions It was evidenced that two-thirds of the individuals did not have high therapeutic adherence and not all used the ideal regimen for the management of RH, nor full doses. Thus, most individuals were probably affected by pseudoresistance, which was initially diagnosed as apparent RH. (Int J Cardiovasc Sci. 2021; [online].ahead print, PP.0-0)

Neste artigo buscou-se demarcar uma formulação sobre o supereu, apoiada na obra de Freud e no ensino de Lacan, que destacasse seu modo de funcionamento, no qual prevalece sua gula estrutural, seu estatuto Real e seu estatuto de instância psíquica capazes de obrigar o sujeito a gozar. Traçar as vicissitudes teóricas e clínicas do supereu por um percurso histórico que leva do excesso de moralidade descrito por Freud à amoralidade desvelada por Lacan, evidencia sua gula de gozo como o que lhe confere uma posição estrutural no psiquismo.

This article offers a discussion on the superego based on the thoughts of Freud and Lacan and by focusing on the way it functions. We notice that what prevails are its structural gluttony, its status of Reality, and its status of psychic instance which are able to force the subject to seek pleasure. We describe clinical and theoretical vicissitudes of the superego from a historical perspective, from the excess of morality described by Freud to the amorality unveiled by Lacan and conclude that the gluttony of the superego for pleasure is what provides it with a structural position in the psyche.

En este artículo se buscó demarcar una formulación sobre el superyó, apoyada en la obra de Freud y en las enseñanzas de Lacan, que destacara su forma de funcionamiento, en el cual prevalece su gula estructural, su estatuto real y su estatuto de instancia psíquica capaces de obligar al sujeto a gozar. Trazar las vicisitudes teóricas y clínicas del superyó por un recorrido histórico que lleva del exceso de moralidad descrito por Freud a la amoralidad descubierta por Lacan demuestra su gula de goce como lo que le confiere una postura estructural en el psiquismo.

Cet article cherche à démarquer une formulation du surmoi en prenant comme base le travail de Freud et l’enseignement de Lacan. Nous soulignons son mode de fonctionnement et plus précisément sa gloutonnerie structurelle, son statut Réel et son statut d’instance psychique capable d’obliger l’individu à jouir. Retracer les vicissitudes théoriques et cliniques du surmoi par un chemin historique qui mène de l’excès de moralité décrit par Freud à l’amoralité dévoilée par Lacan témoigne de sa gourmandise de jouissance qui lui confère une position structurelle dans le psychisme.

Resumo O Jardim Botânico da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora (JB-UFJF) compreende significativo remanescente de Floresta Atlântica em área urbana no município de Juiz de Fora. Objetivando conhecer sua flora, foram realizadas coletas quinzenais na área de 80 hectares delimitada pelo JB-UFJF nos anos de 2011 a 2014. A coleção está depositada no Herbário CESJ da Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora. Foram registradas 436 espécies, distribuídas em 270 gêneros e 96 famílias. As famílias mais ricas foram Fabaceae (35 spp.), Melastomataceae (27 spp.), Rubiaceae (27 spp.), Solanaceae (21 spp.) e Asteraceae (21 spp.). Os gêneros mais ricos foram Miconia (15 spp.), Piper (12 spp.), Psychotria (9 spp.) e Solanum (8 spp.). Seis espécies encontradas na área estão em alguma categoria de ameaça na Lista Nacional Oficial de Espécies da Flora Ameaçadas de Extinção. A composição florística mostrou ser similar a outros levantamentos na região tanto na flora geral quanto por estratos, porém também evidenciou regionalismos florísticos tanto em escala local quanto regional. A alta riqueza de espécies e outras particularidades encontradas revelam a importância da área para conservação, enfatizando sua posição como corredor ecológico na Zona da Mata, no contexto do Corredor Ecológico da Serra da Mantiqueira.

Abstract The Botanical Garden of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (JB-UFJF) comprises significant Atlantic Forest remnant in urban area of Juiz de Fora municipality. Aiming to know its flora, collections were carried biweekly in the 80 hectares of the JB-UFJF from 2011 to 2014. The collection is deposited in the Herbarium CESJ of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. 436 species were found, distributed in 270 genera and 96 families. The richest families were Fabaceae (35 spp.), Melastomataceae (27 spp.), Rubiaceae (27 spp.), Solanaceae (21 spp.) and Asteraceae (21 spp.). The richest genera were Miconia (15 spp.), Piper (12 spp.), Psychotria (9 spp.) and Solanum (8 spp.). Six species found in the area are in some category of threat according to the Red List of the Brazilian Flora. The floristic composition showed to be similar to other surveys in the region both in the general flora and by strata, but also evidenced floristic regionalisms both locally and regionally. The high species richness and other particularities found reveal the importance of the area for conservation, highlighting its position as an ecological corridor in the Zona da Mata, in the context of the Ecological Corridor of Serra da Mantiqueira.

RESUMO A radioembolização transarterial hepática com microesferas de ítrio-90 é uma modalidade paliativa de tratamento locorregional minimamente invasiva. O objetivo neoadjuvante deste tratamento ainda é controverso, mas casos selecionados de lesões consideradas inicialmente irressecáveis reenquadram-se como candidatos à terapia curativa após a radioembolização transarterial hepática. Relatamos três casos em que a radioembolização transarterial hepática foi utilizada como terapia neoadjuvante de forma efetiva possibilitando aplicação posterior de terapias potencialmente curativas.

ABSTRACT Transarterial radioembolization (TARE) with yttrium-90 microspheres is a palliative locoregional treatment, minimally invasive for liver tumors. The neoadjuvant aim of this treatment is still controversial, however, selected cases with lesions initially considered unresectable have been enframed as candidates for curative therapy after hepatic transarterial radioembolization. We report three cases in which the hepatic transarterial radioembolization was used as neoadjuvant therapy in an effective way, allowing posterior potentially curative therapies.

Resumo Objetivo: Verificar a relação da capacidade de sprints repetidos e salto vertical intermitente em atletas de basquetebol. Métodos: Foram avaliados 20 atletas adultos do sexo masculino (21,4 + 2,18 anos). Os atletas fizeram um teste de sprints repetidos (6x30metros) e de salto vertical intermitente (4x15 segundos). Resultados: Verificaram-se correlações negativas moderadas a forte entre o desempenho dos sprints com a altura do salto vertical (r= 0,459 a 0,612; p< 0,05), com exceção da fase de aceleração do sprint, que não apresentou correlação significativa com o salto vertical. Forte coeficiente de correlação intraclasse foi observado para o decréscimo de sprint e salto vertical (CCI = 0,814; p < 0,001). Conclusão: O desempenho do salto vertical apresentou maiores coeficientes de correlação com os sprints feitos em distâncias mais longas (> 20 metros), sugeriu que a aceleração no sprint pode ser considerada uma variável física com características específicas em relação à velocidade máxima de sprint e salto vertical.

Abstract Objective: To verify the relationship of repeated sprint ability and intermittent vertical jump in basketball athletes. Methods: Twenty male adult athletes were evaluated (21.4 + 2.18 years). All athletes performed a repeated sprint test (6x30 meters) and intermittent vertical jump (4x15 seconds). Results: There was a moderate to strong negative correlation between sprint performance and vertical jump height (r= 0.459 to 0.612; p< 0.05), with exception of the sprint acceleration phase that did not present significative correlation with the vertical jump. Strength intraclass correlation was observed for sprint decreases and intermittent vertical jump (ICC= 0.814; p<0.001). Conclusion: Vertical jump performance presented higher correlations coefficients with sprints performed in great distances (>20 meters), suggesting that sprint acceleration can be considered a physical variable with specifics characteristics in relation to maximum sprint speed and vertical jump.

Resumen Objetivo: Comprobar la relación entre la capacidad de sprints repetidos y salto vertical intermitente en jugadores de baloncesto. Métodos: Se evaluó a 20 jugadores adultos de sexo masculino (21,4 + 2,18 años). Todos los jugadores realizaron una prueba de sprints repetidos (6 × 30 m) y de salto vertical intermitente (4 × 15 s). Resultados: Se comprobó la existencia de correlaciones negativas de moderadas a fuertes entre el desempeño de los sprints y la altura del salto vertical (r = 0,459-0,612; p <0,05), con excepción de la fase de aceleración del sprint, que no presentó ninguna correlación considerable con el mismo salto vertical. Se observó un fuerte coeficiente de correlación intraclase en el descenso del sprint y el salto vertical intermitente (CCI = 0,814; p <0,001). Conclusión: El desempeño del salto vertical presentó mayores coeficientes de correlación con los sprints realizados en distancias más largas (>20 m), lo que sugiere que la aceleración en el sprint puede considerarse una variable física con características específicas en relación con la velocidad máxima de sprint y salto vertical.

RESUMO Este trabalho avaliou a influência ambiental e dos modelos de colmeias (caixa de madeira e pote cerâmico) na atividade de voo da abelha de nidificação natural em solo, Melipona quinquefasciata. O experimento aconteceu na Chapada do Araripe, Ceará, entre julho de 2014 e junho de 2015. O estudo acompanhou colônias em três potes cerâmicos e quatro caixas de madeira. As observações do fluxo de voo das abelhas e do clima foram realizadas durante cinco dias em cada mês, sendo cada colônia monitorada por 5 min, em intervalos de uma hora, das 5h às 17 h. Ao longo do ano, foram ainda coletadas a temperatura e umidade relativa do ar internas das colmeias a cada hora. A temperatura correlacionou-se, positivamente, com entrada e saída de abelhas, enquanto a umidade do ar correlacionou-se negativamente. A intensidade de luz influenciou positivamente os dois fluxos. A entrada de abelhas foi maior no período seco do ano (seco = 2,82±0,22; úmido=1,19±0,22). As médias de temperatura interna dos potes cerâmicos foram maiores (p<0,01) (seco = 23,34±0,48 ºC) (úmido = 23,20±0,25 ºC) do que as das caixas de madeira (seco = 22,08±0,31 ºC e úmido = 21,89±0,29 ºC), bem como a umidade do ar interna (seco = 87,41±0,56% e úmido = 89,35±0,94%) foi maior (p<0,01) (seco = 82,24±0,74% e úmido = 86,47±0,11%). Concluiu-se que a atividade de Melipona quinquefasciata relacionou-se ao clima e à sazonalidade dos recursos. O modelo de colmeia usado influencia a homeostase das colônias e seu forrageio.

ABSTRACT This study evaluated the influence of the environment and of two models of beehive (wooden box and ceramic pot) on the flight activity of the ground-nesting bee, Melipona quinquefasciata. The experiment took place in the Chapada do Araripe, in the State of Ceará, Brazil, between July 2014 and June 2015. The study followed colonies in three ceramic pots and four wooden boxes. Observations of the flight activity of the bees and of the climate were made on five days every month, each colony being monitored for 5 min, at intervals of one hour, from 0500 to 1700. The internal temperature and relative humidity of the hives were also recorded every hour throughout the year. The temperature correlated positively with the bees' entering and leaving the hives, while air humidity correlated negatively. Light intensity positively influenced the two flows. Bee entry was higher during the dry period of the year (dry = 2.82 ± 0.22; wet = 1.19 ± 0.22). The mean internal temperature of the ceramic pots was higher (p<0.01) (dry = 23.34 ± 0.48 ºC) (wet = 23.20 ± 0.25 ºC) than of the wooden boxes (dry = 22.08 ± 0.31 ºC and wet = 21.89 ± 0.29 ºC), as was the internal humidity (dry = 87.41 ± 0.56% and wet = 89.35 ± 0.94%) (p<0.01) (dry = 82.24 ± 0.74% and wet = 86.47 ± 0.11%). It was concluded that the activity of Melipona quinquefasciata was related to the climate and the seasonality of the resources. The model of beehive used influences the homeostasis and foraging of the colonies.

The purpose of this paper was to validate the ability of automated devices to measure the velocity of the upper limbs. Thus, 144 students, from 8 to 17 years old, both sexes, participated in the study in a social project in the city of Natal/RN. The Automated Tapping Test (AATT) was developed following the dimensions of the original EUROFIT test, but built out of metal parts, so that the calibration was more accurate and could be read as an electronic signal by the integrated circuit. The upper limb velocity test was applied in three steps: before performing the original test, all participants underwent a laterality check and then motor practice similar to the original test. After 30 minutes, the first step in the pattern established by the EUROFIT test battery was performed and 30 minutes later, the third stage, with the AATT. The measurement reliability of the automated apparatus was tested through intraclass correlations and a strong intraclass interaction coefficient of r = 0.901 was found. In conclusion, the AATT was found to be accurate and efficient as to what it is proposed to evaluate, being able to minimize the intra-evaluator error and to assist professionals in the sports.

This study aimed to identify the predictive factors of attacks, performed from positions 1 and 6 according to the effect of reception in high level Brazilian male volleyball and to find the predictive factors that differentiate the game practiced from these positions. The sample consisted in the observation of 142 games of the Brazilian Men's Super League, totalling 2969 actions of reception, setting and attack from positions 1 and 6. The significance value adopted was 5% (p ≤ 0.05). The analysis of the predictive factors of the game performed by the attacker of position 1 showed greater chances to score after an excellent (odds ratio adjusted - ORA = 1.48) and moderate effect of reception (ORA = 1.31), the second attack tempo (ORA = 1.32), the powerful attack in parallel (ORA = 1.91) and in diagonal (ORA =3.44). The attacker of position 6 showed higher chances of scoring after a high effect of reception (ORA = 3.39) and powerful attack in the parallel (ORA = 1.53). In conclusion, regardless the effect of reception, the use of the back-row attackers is recommended to increase the uncertainty on the opposing team and the chances to score.

ABSTRACT Objective: Hypoparathyroidism is characterized by parathyroid hormone deficiency and hypocalcemia. It has been demonstrated that these patients may also present psychiatric symptoms and decrease of quality of life. The aims of this study were to evaluate the presence of psychopathological symptoms in a cohort of patients with hypoparathyroidism and compare to a control group. Subjects and methods: Patients were submitted to a cross-sectional Symptom Checklist-90-R (SCL-90-R) questionnaire that evaluates psychopathological symptoms by means of the Global Severity Index (GSI), Positive Symptoms Total (PST) and Positive Symptom Distress Index (PSDI). A score based in the positive symptoms was calculated (T-score). The test group was composed of patients with hypoparathyroidism, and control by thyroidectomized patients without hypoparathyroidism. A correlation between the presence of psychological symptoms and clinical features was analyzed. Results: The study included 57 patients with a mean age of 51.1 ± 16.4 years; 20 as a control and 37, test group. There were no differences between groups regarding gender, mean age and age at diagnose. Hypoparathyroidism patients presented higher GSI index than the control group (p = 0.038). Mean T-score of the test group was as elevated as 58.2 ± 5.3 (reference range < 55). No correlation of the number of psychological symptoms to clinical and laboratorial parameters was observed. Conclusion: Patients with hypoparathyroidism attending our outpatient clinics presented an increase in the number of self-report of psychological symptoms when compared with a control group. However, no correlation with hypocalcemia and clinical parameters was observed. Future studies are necessary to evaluated if the absence of PTH play a role on it.
