ABSTRACT Objective: To verify the correlation between the thoracic and lumbar Cobb angle and the type of foot, and the parameters of plantar support during gait in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis. Material and Methods: Sixty adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) were divided into three groups: normal foot (n=20), cavus foot (n=20), and flat foot (n=20). The Cobb angles of thoracic kyphosis and lumbar lordosis were evaluated by radiographic examination. The plantar arch was recorded the podoscope and calculated by the ratio between the midfoot and the total foot area. The adolescents performed the march on a 20-meter track, with their feet resting on the pressure platform, totaling an average of 12 steps of the foot (right and left). The variables evaluated were: contact area, peak pressure, and maximum force on the four regions of the feet: hindfoot (medial and lateral), midfoot, and forefoot. Results: There was a positive correlation between the Cobb angle of lumbar lordosis and the arch plantar cavus (r=0.40; p=0.048) and flat (0.25; p=0.004), with no significant correlations for the Cobb angle thoracic (p>0.005). The pressure peak strongly correlated with the cavus plantar arch (r=0.92, p=0.001) in the lateral hindfoot and forefoot region, while the flat foot with the midfoot region. Conclusion: The Cobb lumbar lordosis angle positively correlates with the plantar arch height and the plantar support pattern during gait in adolescents with idiopathic scoliosis. RESUMEN Objetivos: Verificar la correlación entre el ángulo de Cobb torácico y lumbar y el tipo de pie y los parámetros de soporte plantar durante la marcha en adolescentes con escoliosis idiopática. Material y Métodos: Sesenta adolescentes con escoliosis idiopática (EIA) fueron divididos en tres grupos: pie normal (n=20), pie cavo (n=20) y pie plano (n=20). Los ángulos de Cobb de la cifosis torácica y la lordosis lumbar se evaluaron mediante examen radiográfico. El arco plantar fue registrado por el podoscopio y calculado por la relación entre el área del mediopié y el área total del pie. Los adolescentes realizaron la marcha sobre una pista de 20 metros, con los pies apoyados en la plataforma, totalizando un promedio de 12 pasos (derecho e izquierdo). Fueron evaluados área de contacto, pico de presión y fuerza máxima en las 4 regiones de los pies: retropié (medial y lateral), mediopié y antepié. Resultados: Hubo correlación positiva entre el ángulo de Cobb de la lordosis lumbar y el arco cavo plantar (r=0,40; p=0,048) y plano (0,25; p=0,004), no existiendo correlaciones significativas para el ángulo de Cobb torácico (p> 0,005). El pico de presión obtuvo una fuerte correlación con el arco plantar cavo (r=0,92, p=0,001) en la región lateral del retropié y antepié, mientras que el pie plano con la región del mediopié. Conclusión: El ángulo de Cobb de la lordosis lumbar tiene una correlación positiva con la altura del arco plantar y el patrón de apoyo plantar durante la marcha en adolescentes con escoliosis idiopática. Material e Métodos: Foram avaliados 60 adolescentes com escoliose idiopática (EIA), divididos em três grupos: pé normal (n= 20), pé cavo (n=20) e pé plano (n=20). Os ângulos de Cobb da cifose torácica e da lordose lombar foram avaliadas pelo exame radiográfico. O arco plantar foi registrado pelo podoscópio e calculado pela razão entre a área do mediopé e a área total do pé. Os adolescentes realizavam a marcha sobre uma pista de 20 metros, com o registo do apoio dos pés sobre a plataforma de pressão, totalizando em média 12 passos (direito e esquerdo). Foram avaliados: área de contato, pico de pressão e força máxima sobre 4 regiões dos pés: retropé (medial e lateral), mediopé e antepé. Resultados: Houve uma correlação positiva entre o ângulo de Cobb da lordose lombar e o arco plantar cavo (r=0,40; p=0,048) e plano (0,25; p=0,004), sem correlações significantes para o ângulo de Cobb torácico (p>0,005). O pico de pressão obteve uma correlação forte com o arco plantar cavo (r=0,92, p=0,001) em região de retropé lateral e antepé, enquanto que o pé plano com a região do mediopé. Conclusão: O ângulo de Cobb da lordose lombar tem correlação positiva com a altura do arco plantar e o padrão de apoio plantar durante a marcha de adolescentes com escoliose idiopática. Abstract Partial discharges can occur in different types of electric equipment and cause progressive insulation deterioration, so there is interest in monitoring partial discharges for assessing the state of the isolation of an electric system and to predict failures. Techniques to detect partial discharges, such as detecting ultrasonic emission, have been proposed in the literature, but as various effects can co-occur during a discharge, identifying characteristics in sound and pressure waveforms and correlating then with discharge characteristics is difficult. Simulations can assist in these correlations by allowing the isolation of the different phenomena. In this work the drift diffusion model, including photoionization, is coupled with the linearized compressible Navier-Stokes equations to simulate ultrasonic waves produced by partial discharges. Previous works have used the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations, so they can simulate ionic wind produced by the Trichel pulses, but no sound. In the literature, simulations have focused either on streamers or Trichel pulses. In this work both discharges and produced sound waves are successfully simulated for the needle-plane geometry in air. The electric current and charge per pulse are compared with experimental results reported in the literature for the same discharge conditions. The simulations have demonstrated that the sound waves depart from the electrode tip for the Trichel pulses, and for the streamers two sound waves are produced, one from the electrode tip and the other from the whole discharge length. Differences in the wave front with respect to the relative position to the electrode tip were analyzed, showing that near the discharge spot the sound wave is not a spherical wavefront. The sound wave for one of the discharges in the Trichel pulse regime was compared with experimental results in the literature. Results are in good agreement with the experimental data found in the literature. Both current and sound waves were successfully predicted and correlated with the discharge, results that can be used to help in the detection of partial discharges.

RESUMEN Introducción. Las lesiones del tracto urinario son frecuentes en el contexto de la cirugía pélvica; sin embargo, existe poca información sobre su manejo por vía laparoscópica. Se presenta el caso de una paciente con una lesión vesical intraperitoneal secundaria a cirugía pélvica ginecológica, quien recibió manejo por abordaje laparoscópico, y se propone un algoritmo de tratamiento. Presentación del caso. Mujer de 39 años quién, luego de tres días de practicársele una salpingectomía izquierda y una resección del dispositivo intrauterino migrado mediante abordaje laparoscópico, consultó al servicio de urgencias por dolor abdominal generalizado y oligoanuria. Los exámenes de laboratorio evidenciaron microhematuria, creatinina sérica de 4.35mg/dl y nitrógeno ureico de 35,2mg/dl. En cistografía por tomografía computarizada (cisto-TC) se observó una solución de continuidad de la pared vesical posterolateral izquierda intraperitoneal. A la paciente se le trató la lesión vesical de forma exitosa por vía laparoscópica, y dos semanas después, también mediante cistografía retrógrada se confirmó una adecuada resolución de la misma. Conclusión. Dados los resultados satisfactorios del manejo laparoscópico en la paciente y los beneficios de esta técnica, se puede concluir que el abordaje laparoscópico de las lesiones quirúrgicas de la vejiga es una opción terapéutica factible.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Urinary tract injuries are common in the context of pelvic surgery; however, there is little information in the medical literature on the management of these injuries using a laparoscopic approach. The following is the clinical case of a patient with intraperitoneal bladder injury secondary to gynecological pelvic surgery that was successfully treated using a laparoscopic approach. Moreover, a management algorithm is proposed based on the scientific data available. Case report. A 39-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital with generalized abdominal pain and anuria three days after undergoing a left laparoscopic salpingectomy and resection of a migrated intrauterine device. Laboratory tests showed microhematuria, serum creatinine of 4.35mg/dL, and urea nitrogen of 35.2mg/dL. Computed tomography cystography showed a solution of continuity on the left posterolateral intraperitoneal bladder. The patient underwent successful laparoscopic treatment for the bladder injury, and two weeks later, retrograde cystography confirmed its adequate resolution. Conclusions. Based on the benefits of the laparoscopic approach and after extrapolating the outcomes of the laparoscopic management of bladder trauma, it can be concluded that the laparoscopic approach to surgical injuries of the bladder is a feasible therapeutic option.

Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência do remineralizador de solo finos de mica xisto (FMS) na fisiologia, na produtividade e na qualidade de grãos de soja (Glycine max) em diferentes regimes hídricos (RHs), no Cerrado brasileiro. O experimento foi conduzido em condições de campo durante dois anos, tendo-se utilizado quatro RHs e três tratamentos: mica xisto, adubação convencional e controle. Em 2017 e 2018, foram avaliados os seguintes RHs: RH1, RH2, RH3 e RH4, que correspondiam ao valor médio de 100, 65, 44 e 28% da reposição da evapotranspiração da cultura, respectivamente. A fotossíntese, a condutância estomática, a transpiração, a concentração interna de CO2, o rendimento quântico efetivo do fotossistema II (FSII) (Fv’/Fm’), o rendimento quântico (FSII) (ᶲFSII) e a taxa de transporte de elétrons reduziram em função do avanço da fase fenológica da soja e da redução do RH. A qualidade dos grãos foi afetada apenas pelo RH. O mica xisto foi estatisticamente semelhante à adubação convencional e ao controle em 2017 e 2018. A produtividade reduziu devido à antecipação da idade fenológica da soja e do RH, mas não houve diferenças entre os três tratamentos em 2017 e 2018. A redução da produtividade da soja é atribuída ao fechamento estomático, à perda da capacidade fotoprotetora e aos danos ao maquinário fotossintético causados pela seca.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the soil remineralizer fine-graded mica schist (FMS) on soybean (Glycine max) physiology, yield, and grain quality under different water regimes (WRs) in the Brazilian Cerrado. The experiment was conducted under field conditions for two years, using four WRs and three treatments: mica schist, conventional fertilization, and control. In 2017 and 2018, the following WRs were evaluated: WR1, WR2, WR3, and WR4, corresponding to a mean value of 100, 65, 44, and 28% of crop evapotranspiration replacement, respectively. Photosynthesis, stomatal conductance, transpiration, internal CO2 concentration, effective quantum yield of photosystem II (PSII) (Fv’/Fm’), quantum yield (PSII) (ᶲFSII), and electron transport rate reduced as a function of the advanced phenological stage of soybean and the reduction in WR. Grain quality was only affected by the WR. The mica schist was statistically similar to conventional fertilization and the control in 2017 and 2018. Yield decreased due to the anticipation of soybean phenological age and WR, but there were no differences between the three treatments in 2017 and 2018. The reduction in soybean yield is attributed to stomatal closure, loss of photoprotective capacity, and damage to the photosynthetic machinery caused by drought.

Abstract Sexually transmitted infections [STI] represent a serious public health problem, which triggers different biological, economic and social complications, which is also related to migration, prostitution, and other factors. The present investigation was carried out with the aim of establishing an endemic channel on Sexually Transmitted Infections and its association with migration, vacation periods and other factors of risk. Methods. A retrospective descriptive observational study was carried out from a bibliographic review of the subject on the internet network retrospectively from 2016 to 2010 collected from SUIVE, in order to establish the endemic ITS channel of the Santa Ana Batha region, Chilcuautla Municipality, Hidalgo, compared with the influx of spas in the study region, it was also taken into account that the region is a migration step from the south to the north, and the epidemiological weeks were also related to the vacation periods. Results. it was obtained as a result that during these periods the number of cases increased considerably and exceeded the alert zone. Conclusion. The results obtained allow to establish as risk factors for STI the phenomenon of migration, the vacation periods and the influx to spas during vacation periods. This study allows us to establish that if we do not pay attention to risk factors, STIs will continue to mean negative results in the health of those involved.

ABSTRACT Objective: to produce a predictive model for the incidence of COVID-19 cases, severity and deaths in Ponta Grossa, state of Paraná. Methods: this is an ecological study with data from confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported between March 21, 2020 and May 3, 2020 in Ponta Grossa and proportion of severity, hospitalization and lethality in the literature. A susceptible-infected-recovered (SIR) epidemic model was developed, and reproduction rate (R0), duration of epidemic, peak period, number of cases, hospitalized patients and deaths were estimated. Deaths were calculated by age group and in three scenarios: at day 24, at day 34, and at day 44 of the epidemic. Results: in the three scenarios assessed in this study, the variation in the number of cases was explained by an exponential curve (r2=0.74, 0.79 and 0.89, respectively, p<0.0001 in all scenarios). The SIR model estimated that, in the best scenario, the peak period will be around 120 days after the first case (between July 11, 2020 and July 25, 2020), estimated R0 will be 1.07 and will infect 0.23% of the population. In the worst scenario, peak period will involve 4,375 (95% CI; 4156-4594) cases and 825 (95% CI; 700-950) cases in the best scenario. Most cases and hospital admissions will involve patients aged 20 to 39 years, the number of deaths will be higher among the elderly and more pronounced among patients aged ≥80 years. Conclusion: this is the first study that provides COVID-19 projections for a municipality that is not a large capital. It shows a peak period at a later moment; therefore, the municipality will have more time to prepare and adopt protective measures to reduce the number of simultaneous cases.

RESUMEN Objetivo: obtener un modelo predictivo para la ocurrencia de casos, severidad y muertes por COVID-19 en Ponta Grossa-Paraná. Métodos: estudio ecológico con datos de casos confirmados de COVID-19 notificados del 21/03/2020 al 3/3/2020 en Ponta Grossa y proporción de severidad, hospitalización y letalidad en la literatura. Se construyó un modelo epidemiológico (SIR) infectado-recuperado susceptible y tasa de reproducción estimada (R0), duración de la epidemia, fecha pico, número de casos, hospitalizaciones y muertes. Este último por grupo de edad y en tres escenarios: a los 24 días, a los 34 días y a los 44 días de epidemia. Resultados: en los tres escenarios evaluados, la variación en el número de casos se explicó por una curva exponencial (r2 = 0.74, 0.79 y 0.89, respectivamente y p <0.0001 en total). El modelo SIR estimó que, en el mejor escenario, el pico ocurrirá alrededor de 120 días después del primer caso (entre el 7/11/2020 y el 25/7/2020), el R0 estimado será de 1.07 y alcanzará 0.23 % de habitantes infectados. En el peor de los casos, el pico estimado será de 4375 (IC del 95%: 4156-4594) y 825 (IC del 95%: 700-950) en el mejor de los casos. El mayor número estimado de casos y hospitalizaciones estará en el rango entre 20 y 39 años, el número de muertes será mayor entre los ancianos y más pronunciado entre ≥ 80 años. Conclusión: este es el primer estudio con proyecciones para COVID-19 en un municipio fuera de las grandes capitales y demostró que el pico llegará tarde, por lo tanto, el municipio tendrá más tiempo de preparación y que las medidas de protección pueden reducir el número simultáneo de casos.

RESUMO Objetivo: obter um modelo preditivo da ocorrência de casos, gravidade e óbitos por COVID-19 em Ponta Grossa-Paraná. Métodos: estudo ecológico com dados de casos confirmados de COVID-19 notificados de 21/03/2020 a 03/05/2020 em Ponta Grossa e proporção de gravidade, hospitalização e letalidade da literatura. Um modelo epidemiológico suscetível-infectado-recuperado (SIR) foi construído e estimadas taxa de reprodução (R0), duração da epidemia, data do pico, número de casos, hospitalizações e óbitos. Estas últimas por faixa etária e em três cenários: aos 24 dias, aos 34 dias e aos 44 dias de epidemia. Resultados: nos três cenários avaliados, a variação no número de casos foi explicada por uma curva exponencial (r2=0,74, 0,79 e 0,89, respectivamente e p<0,0001 em todos). O modelo SIR estimou que, no melhor cenário, o pico ocorrerá em torno de 120 dias após o primeiro caso (entre 11/07/2020 e 25/07/2020), o R0 estimado será 1,07 e chegará a 0,23% dos habitantes infectados. No pior cenário, o pico estimado será de 4375 (IC 95% 4156-4594) casos e 825 (IC 95% 700-950) no melhor cenário. O maior número estimado de casos e hospitalizações será na faixa entre 20 e 39 anos, o número de óbitos será maior entre idosos e mais acentuado entre ≥ 80 anos. Conclusão: este é o primeiro estudo com projeções para a COVID-19 em um município fora das grandes capitais e mostrou que o pico será tardio, portanto, o município terá mais tempo de preparo e que medidas protetivas podem reduzir o número simultâneo de casos.

Abstract Since the invention of beer by the Sumerian people in 5000 BC, alcohol was the main reason of the interest of consumers on beer. Only in the beginning of the 20th century alcohol-free beer was demanded and since then technology has advanced dramatically in the production of those beverages. The aim on alcohol-free beer production is to have products that taste similarly to their alcoholic equivalents, the sole absence of alcohol and low concentrations of esters and higher alcohols and the higher concentration of aldehydes create a “worty” organoleptic impression of those products. Alcohol-free beers can be obtained by the restriction of alcohol formation during fermentation, the use of special yeast strains that consume or don’t produce alcohol, the thermal removal of alcohol and by the removal of alcohol trough membrane processes. Membrane separated alcohol-free beers preserve more of the natural constituents of beer aroma and those products usually taste better than those obtained through other processes. Pervaporation techniques show a broad spectrum of use and can even be combined with other processes and perform the removal of undesired products or separation and recuperation of aromatic substances.

RESUMO O trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar a propagação vegetativa de Hymenaea courbaril (jatobá) e Apuleia leiocarpa (garapa) por meio da técnica de miniestaquia com o uso do regulador de crescimento, ácido indolbutírico (AIB), em diferentes tipos de miniestacas. Foram montados dois experimentos, o primeiro envolvendo as duas espécies, três tipos de miniestacas (basais, intermediárias e apicais), na presença e ausência de AIB (4000 mg kg-1). No segundo experimento, avaliou-se apenas a espécie garapa testando-se os mesmos três tipos de miniestacas em quatro concentrações de AIB: 0, 1000, 2000 e 4000 mg kg-1. As miniestacas foram obtidas a partir de mudas de 6 meses de idade, produzidas em viveiro a partir de sementes. Utilizou-se delineamento em blocos casualizados no esquema fatorial 3 x 2 x 3 (três tipos de miniestacas, dois níveis de AIB e três datas de avaliação) no primeiro experimento, e 3 x 4 x 3 (três tipos de miniestacas, quatro concentrações de AIB e três datas de avaliação) no segundo experimento. Aos 90 dias, o jatobá apresentou sobrevivência média de 54%, com menos de 5% de enraizamento total, sem influência significativa do tipo de miniestaca ou do uso do AIB. Em ambos os experimentos a garapa apresentou maior sobrevivência para as miniestacas basais, que foram as únicas que enraizaram. O AIB não influenciou a sobrevivência e o percentual de enraizamento de miniestacas da garapa, porém influenciou de forma negativa o número, comprimento e massa seca de raiz. Conclui-se para garapa que a miniestaquia, a partir das miniestacas basais se mostrou uma técnica viável, com 40% de enraizamento, porém para jatobá, nas condições do estudo, a propagação por miniestaquia não teve sucesso.

ABSTRACT The objective of this work was to evaluate the vegetative propagation of Hymenaea courbaril (jatobá) and Apuleia leiocarpa (garapa) using the mini-cutting technique with the use of indolebutyric acid (IBA) growth regulator in different types of mini-cuttings. Two experiments were set up: the first involving the two species and three mini-cutting techniques (basal, intermediate and apical) in the presence and absence of IBA (4000 mg kg-1). In the second experiment, only the garapa species was evaluated by testing the same three mini-cutting techniques at four IBA concentrations: 0, 1000, 2000 and 4000 mg kg-1. The mini-cuttings were obtained from 6-month-old seedlings produced from seeds in a nursery. A randomized block design was used in a 3 x 2 x 3 factorial scheme (three mini-cutting techniques, two IBA concentration levels and three evaluation dates) in the first experiment, and a 3 x 4 x 3 factorial scheme (three mini-cutting techniques, four IBA concentrations and three evaluation dates) in the second experiment. At 90 days, jatobá had an average survival of 54%, with less than 5% of total rooting, without significant influence of the mini-cutting technique or IBA use. Garapa presented higher survival for the basal mini-cuttings in both experiments, which were the only ones that took root. IBA did not influence survival or rooting percentage of garapa mini-cuttings, but negatively influenced the root number, length and dry mass. We concluded that the basal mini-cutting is a viable technique for vegetative propagation of garapa, presenting 40% of rooting, but the propagation by mini-cutting for jatobá was not successful under the conditions of this study.

Métodos: estudo ecológico com dados de casos confirmados de COVID-19 notificados de 21/03/2020 a 03/05/2020 em Ponta Grossa e proporção de gravidade, hospitalização e letalidade da literatura. Um modelo epidemiológico suscetível-infectado-recuperado (SIR) foi construído e estimadas taxa de reprodução (R0), duração da epidemia, data do pico, número de casos, hospitalizações e óbitos. Estas últimas por faixa etária e em três cenários: aos 24 dias, aos 34 dias e aos 44 dias de epidemia. Resultados: nos três cenários avaliados, a variação no número de casos foi explicada por uma curva exponencial (r2=0,74, 0,79 e 0,89, respectivamente e p<0,0001 em todos). O modelo SIR estimou que, no melhor cenário, o pico ocorrerá em torno de 120 dias após o primeiro caso (entre 11/07/2020 e 25/07/2020), o R0 estimado será 1,07 e chegará a 0,23% dos habitantes infectados. No pior cenário, o pico estimado será de 4375 (IC 95% 4156-4594) casos e 825 (IC 95% 700-950) no melhor cenário. O maior número estimado de casos e hospitalizações será na faixa entre 20 e 39 anos, o número de óbitos será maior entre idosos e mais acentuado entre ≥ 80 anos. Conclusão: este é o primeiro estudo com projeções para a COVID-19 em um município fora das grandes capitais e mostrou que o pico será tardio, portanto, o município terá mais tempo de preparo e que medidas protetivas podem reduzir o número simultâneo de casos.

ABSTRACT Objective: to produce a predictive model for the incidence of COVID-19 cases, severity and deaths in Ponta Grossa, state of Paraná. Methods: this is an ecological study with data from confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported between March 21, 2020 and May 3, 2020 in Ponta Grossa and proportion of severity, hospitalization and lethality in the literature. A susceptible-infected-recovered (SIR) epidemic model was developed, and reproduction rate (R0), duration of epidemic, peak period, number of cases, hospitalized patients and deaths were estimated. Deaths were calculated by age group and in three scenarios: at day 24, at day 34, and at day 44 of the epidemic. Results: in the three scenarios assessed in this study, the variation in the number of cases was explained by an exponential curve (r2=0.74, 0.79 and 0.89, respectively, p<0.0001 in all scenarios). The SIR model estimated that, in the best scenario, the peak period will be around 120 days after the first case (between July 11, 2020 and July 25, 2020), estimated R0 will be 1.07 and will infect 0.23% of the population. In the worst scenario, peak period will involve 4,375 (95% CI; 4156-4594) cases and 825 (95% CI; 700-950) cases in the best scenario. Most cases and hospital admissions will involve patients aged 20 to 39 years, the number of deaths will be higher among the elderly and more pronounced among patients aged ≥80 years. Conclusion: this is the first study that provides COVID-19 projections for a municipality that is not a large capital. It shows a peak period at a later moment; therefore, the municipality will have more time to prepare and adopt protective measures to reduce the number of simultaneous cases.

RESUMEN Objetivo: obtener un modelo predictivo para la ocurrencia de casos, severidad y muertes por COVID-19 en Ponta Grossa-Paraná. Métodos: estudio ecológico con datos de casos confirmados de COVID-19 notificados del 21/03/2020 al 3/3/2020 en Ponta Grossa y proporción de severidad, hospitalización y letalidad en la literatura. Se construyó un modelo epidemiológico (SIR) infectado-recuperado susceptible y tasa de reproducción estimada (R0), duración de la epidemia, fecha pico, número de casos, hospitalizaciones y muertes. Este último por grupo de edad y en tres escenarios: a los 24 días, a los 34 días y a los 44 días de epidemia. Resultados: en los tres escenarios evaluados, la variación en el número de casos se explicó por una curva exponencial (r2 = 0.74, 0.79 y 0.89, respectivamente y p <0.0001 en total). El modelo SIR estimó que, en el mejor escenario, el pico ocurrirá alrededor de 120 días después del primer caso (entre el 7/11/2020 y el 25/7/2020), el R0 estimado será de 1.07 y alcanzará 0.23 % de habitantes infectados. En el peor de los casos, el pico estimado será de 4375 (IC del 95%: 4156-4594) y 825 (IC del 95%: 700-950) en el mejor de los casos. El mayor número estimado de casos y hospitalizaciones estará en el rango entre 20 y 39 años, el número de muertes será mayor entre los ancianos y más pronunciado entre ≥ 80 años. Conclusión: este es el primer estudio con proyecciones para COVID-19 en un municipio fuera de las grandes capitales y demostró que el pico llegará tarde, por lo tanto, el municipio tendrá más tiempo de preparación y que las medidas de protección pueden reducir el número simultáneo de casos.

ABSTRACT Background: HIV infection harms adaptive cellular immunity mechanisms. Long-term virological control by combined antiretroviral therapy (cART) reduces the risk of mycobacterial infections. Thus, we aimed to study cellular responses to mycobacterial antigens in 20 HIV-infected adolescents with at least one year of virological control (HIV-RNA <40 copies/mL) and 20 healthy adolescents. Methods: We evaluated CD8 and γδ T-cell degranulation by measurement of CD107a membrane expression after stimulation with lysates from BCG (10 µg/mL) and H37RA Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb, 10 µg/mL). Immune activation and antigen-presenting ability were also assessed by determination of HLA-DR, CD80, and CD86 markers. Results: TCR γδ T-cell CD107a expression was similar between groups in response to mycobacterial antigens, and lower in the HIV-infected group in response to mitogen. Higher baseline HLA-DR expression and lower mycobacterial-stimulated expression was found within the HIV-infected group. Conclusions: Similar degranulation in stimulated CD8+ and TCR γδ T-cells from HIV-infected adolescents, when compared to healthy controls suggests long-term immunological preservation with immune reconstitution under successful cART. However, differences in HLA-DR expression may represent ongoing inflammation and lower specific responses in HIV-infected youth. These features may be relevant in the context of the precocity and severity of vertically acquired HIV infection.

Resumo Introdução A interface do gênero enquanto importante categoria no âmbito da saúde mental ainda é incipiente, ocasionando uma reificação de práticas que reproduzem desigualdades e assimetrias entre homens e mulheres cuidadores/as no contexto da atenção em saúde mental no Brasil. Objetivo Discutir como o gênero tem marcado as práticas de cuidado desempenhadas pelas famílias, por meio da identificação de diferenças quanto ao perfil sociodemográfico, ao desenvolvimento das atividades de cuidado e às suas repercussões na vida dos familiares de acordo com o sexo dos indivíduos. Método Estudo transversal conduzido com 1.242 familiares de usuários/as de Centros de Atenção Psicossocial. Verificou-se a prevalência de cada estrato das variáveis de acordo com o sexo dos indivíduos estudados utilizando o teste qui-quadrado para heterogeneidade. Resultados Aspectos, como ausência da divisão da atividade de cuidado, sentimento de sobrecarga, avaliação ruim da qualidade de vida, insatisfação com as relações familiares e manifestação de transtornos psiquiátricos menores, foram mais prevalentemente encontrados entre as mulheres. Conclusão Há diferenças importantes entre homens e mulheres cuidadores/as em saúde mental, em especial no que diz respeito às repercussões do cuidado na vida dessas pessoas.

Abstract Background The gender interface as an important category in the field of mental health is still incipient. This results in the reification of practices that reproduce inequalities and asymmetries between men and women caregivers in the context of psychiatric care in Brazil. Objective To discuss how gender has marked care practices performed by families through the identification of differences in socio-demographic profile, development of care activities and their repercussions on the family's life according to the sex of the individuals. Method A cross-sectional study with 1242 relatives of users of Psychosocial Care Centers. We verified the prevalence of each variable stratum according to the sex of the individuals studied using chi-square test for heterogeneity. Results Aspects such as absence of the division of care activity, feeling of overload, poor quality of life, dissatisfaction with family relationships, and manifestation of minor psychiatric disorders were more prevalent among the women accessed. Conclusion There are important differences between men and women caregivers in mental health, especially regarding the repercussions of care on the lives of these people.

Resumo O presente trabalho tem como objetivo estudar o comportamento de juntas soldadas obtidas pelo processo GMAW com eletrodo rotativo (GMAW-RE), de modo a permitir uma análise comparativa de produtividade e propriedades mecânicas com o processo GMAW convencional (GMAW). Foram realizadas soldagens multipasse pelos dois processos GMAW com preaquecimento de 100 °C em chapas de dimensões 500 × 150 × 10 mm em aço ASTM A36, na posição plana e energia de soldagem média de 2,30 kJ/mm. Após a soldagem, foram realizados ensaios de impacto Charpy-V, microdureza e metalográficos em corpos-de-prova removidos transversalmente ao cordão de solda. Adicionalmente, foi realizada uma análise comparativa de produtividade entre os processos. Os resultados mostram que o processo GMAW-RE propicia um aumento de produtividade e redução de custos significativos em relação ao processo GMAW. Adicionalmente, foram observados valores equivalentes de tenacidade ao impacto para o metal de solda, mas uma redução nesta propriedade na zona termicamente afetada. Embora a literatura disponível destaque o elevado potencial deste processo para substituição do processo GMAW convencional em aplicações industriais, verifica-se a necessidade de mais evidências experimentais para um maior suporte a esta indicação.

Abstract The main goal of the present work is to evaluate the behavior of welded joints obtained by the GMAW with rotating electrode process (GMAW-RE) in comparison to the Conventional GMAW process (GMAW). Multipass welding by both processes were performed in ASTM A36 steel plates with dimensions of 500 × 150 × 10 mm, preheating of 100 °C in the flat position and average welding energy of 2.30kJ/mm. After welding, Charpy-V notch and microhardness tests and metallographic examination were performed in samples removed transversally to the weld bead. Additionally, a comparative analysis of productivity and costs between processes were done. The results show that the GMAW-RE promotes higher productivity and reduction of costs in comparison to GMAW. Additionally, similar impact toughness results were observed in weld metals and a reduction on this property at the HAZ. Although the literature states the high potential of the GMAW-RE for replacement of the conventional GMAW in industrial applications, it was concluded that other experimental results are still necessary before the final conclusion.

Resumo Este trabalho apresenta uma nova abordagem analítica para a solução de problemas de dispersão de poluentes ao longo de corpos hídricos com contornos irregulares. Nesta abordagem, a equação advectivo-difusiva é expressa em termos de coordenadas curvilíneas ortogonais que são definidas pelo potencial de velocidade e pela função de corrente correspondente para fluídos invíscivos. A condição de contorno reescrita em termos destas novas coordenadas é reduzida a uma de terceira espécie clássica, isto é, a derivada da distribuição de concentração em relação à função de corrente é proporcional ao valor numérico da concentração de poluente local. A solução obtida a partir da formulação proposta foi empregada para simular dispersão de poluentes (coliformes termotolerantes) ao longo do Arroio Pampa, afluente do rio dos Sinos, na periferia de Novo Hamburgo, cidade do sul do Brazil. Os resultados obtidos reproduzem o comportamento qualitativo da distribuição de concentração esperada.

Abstract This work presents a new analytical approach for solving pollutant dispersion problems along irregular-shaped water bodies. In this approach, the advection-diffusion equation is expressed in terms of orthogonal curvilinear coordinates, defined by the velocity potential and the corresponding stream function for inviscid flows. The boundary condition rewritten in terms of these new coordinates is reduced to a classical third kind one, i.e., the derivative of the concentration distribution with respect to the stream function is proportional to the numerical value of the local pollutant concentration. The solution obtained from the proposed formulation was employed to simulate pollutant dispersion (thermotolerant coliforms) along the Pampa Creek, a tributary of the Sinos River at the outskirts of Novo Hamburgo city, South Region of Brazil. The results obtained reproduce the qualitative behavior of the expected concentration distribution.

RESUMO: Este estudo teve como objetivo geral descrever os aspectos ultrassonográficos normais das estruturas do bulbo ocular de primatas da espécie Alouatta fusca, determinando ainda os valores da biometria ocular, e os parâmetros da dopplerfluxometria ocular das artérias oftálmica interna e central da retina. Vinte exames ultrassonográficos oculares foram realizados em dez primatas da espécie Alouatta fusca clinicamente saudáveis, sem sinais de doença ocular ao exame oftalmológico. Procedeu-se a descrição ultrassonográfica das estruturas oculares e posteriormente a biometria foi obtida em quatro distâncias distintas: (D1) correspondentes à câmara anterior, (D2) espessura da lente, (D3) profundidade da câmara vítrea e (D4) comprimento axial do bulbo ocular. Na dopplerfluxometria foram avaliadas as artérias oftálmica interna e central da retina quanto ao índice de resistividade (IR), de pulsatilidade (IP), e as velocidades do pico sistólico (VPS) ediastólica final (VDF). Os valores de biometria foram submetidos a teste de comparação quanto ao gênero dos animais e cortes ultrassonográficos, utilizando o teste t de Student. O mesmo teste foi realizado para comparação dos resultados de dopplerfluxometria entre fêmeas e machos. A descrição ultrassonográfica das estruturas oculares e vascularização do bugio ruivo mostraram-se semelhantes a espécies como o cão, o gato e o homem. Os valores biométricos médios encontrados foram de 2,1±0,38 mm para D1, 3,7±0,30mm para D2, 10,4±0,78mm para D3 e 19,3±1,64mm para D4. Os valores de dopplerfluxometria da artéria oftálmica e da artéria central da retina foram respectivamente: VPS de 25,6cm/s e 14,6cm/s; VDF de 15,8cm/s e 10,7cm/s; IR de 0,7 e 0,5; IP de 1,4 e 0,8.

ABSTRACT: This study aimed to describe the sonographic features of normal ocular structures, the ocular biometry and Doppler parameters of the internal ophthalmic artery and central retinal artery of the Alouatta fusca. Twenty ocular ultrasonographic examinations were perform in ten primate species of the Alouatta fusca. Proceeded to the sonographic description of the ocular structures and later biometrics was obtained in four distances: (D1) corresponding to the anterior chamber (D2) lens thickness (D3) vitreous chamber and (D4) axial length of the eyeball. Doppler ultrasound evaluated internal ophthalmic artery and central retinal artery as for the resistivity Index (RI), pulsatility index (PI), peak systolic velocity (PSV) and end diastolic velocity (EDV). The values of biometrics and flowmetry underwent comparison test between genders and sonographic views, by Student t test. The anatomical sonographic description of the ocular structures and vasculature of the red howler were similar to species such as dog, cat and man. The biometric average values found were 2.1±0.38mm for D1, 3.7±0.30mm for D2, 10.4±0.78mm for D3 and 19.3±1.64mm for D4. The Doppler values of the ophthalmic artery and central retinal artery found were: PSV of 25.6cm/s and 14.6cm/s; VDF 15.8cm/s and 10.7cm/s; IR 0.7 and 0.5; IP 1.4 and 0.8.
