Juvenile hormone (JH III) is an important example of a chemical signaling derived from the terpene biosynthetic pathway. Because of its impact on many species’ reproductive and developmental processes, analytical approaches must be developed to accurately identify and measure it in biological samples. In this technical note, we explored the gas-phase dissociative behavior of JH III using tandem mass spectrometry combined with electrospray ionization to provide diagnostic fragment-ions for quantitative purposes.

The publication Cardiovascular Statistics – Brazil aims to provide an annual compilation of data and research on the epidemiology of CVDs in Brazil.  The report integrates official statistics from the Brazilian Ministry of Health and other governmental entities alongside data from the GBD project, coordinated by the IHME at the University of Washington. Additionally, it incorporates data derived from various sources and scientific studies, including cohorts and registries, that relate to CVDs and their associated risk factors. This publication is intended for a wide range of individuals, including researchers, clinicians, patients, healthcare policymakers, media professionals, the general public, and other interested parties seeking extensive national data about heart disease and stroke.  Volunteer researchers from various Brazilian universities and research institutions carry out the project. The group is led by a five-member steering committee (ALPR, CAP, DCM, GMMO, and LCCB). The Brazilian Society of Cardiology fully supports this initiative, and the project receives collaborative support from the GBD Brazil Network and an International Committee (GAR, PP, and TAG) from both the IHME/University of Washington (GAR) and the World Heart Federation (PP and TAG). 

A publicação Estatística Cardiovascular – Brasil tem por objetivo fornecer uma compilação anual dos dados e das pesquisas sobre a epidemiologia das DCV no Brasil.  Este documento integra as estatísticas oficiais do Ministério da Saúde do Brasil e outras entidades governamentais ao lado de dados do projeto GBD, coordenado pelo IHME da Universidade de Washington. Além disso, incorpora dados derivados de várias fontes e estudos científicos, inclusive coortes e registros, relacionados às DCV e fatores de risco associados. Esta publicação destina-se a um público variado, incluindo pesquisadores, clínicos, pacientes, formuladores de políticas de saúde, profissionais da mídia, o público em geral e todos aqueles que buscam dados nacionais abrangentes sobre DCV e acidente vascular cerebral. Pesquisadores voluntários de várias universidades e instituições de pesquisa brasileiros realizaram este projeto. O grupo é liderado por um comitê diretivo com cinco membros (ALPR, CAP, DCM, GMMO e LCCB). ABSTRACT Inside the Brazilian semi-arid region (Caatinga biome) there are vegetation refuges from other biomes that are present mainly at greater elevations in ancient geological formations such as Chapada do Araripe. This study aimed to understand the structure, diversity and floristic similarity of a fragment of humid forest in order to support conservation strategies for this community in Chapada do Araripe, southern Ceará (708m Alt.), an area of relevant ecological, cultural and scenic value. In 13 parcels of 25x25m (0.8 ha) all individuals with DBH ≥ 5cm were inventoried, observing total height. Floristic similarity was observed using the Jaccard method, comparing it with seven other areas in different regions of the Brazil. Sixty-six species were found distributed in 34 families, in a total of 1,544 individuals with DA=1,997.30 ind.ha-1 and AB =32,618 m²ha-1. Fabaceae (25.75%) and Myrtaceae (6%) had the highest number of species and Brosimum gaudichaudii had the highest IVI. The Shannon index (H') was 3.13 and the Pielou equability (J') was 0.75. The beta diversity, compared with other areas of humid forest (core and disjunct), was considered high and the statistics showed greater similarity with the area of the mesoregion of Pernambuco forest. The results allow the characterization of the area as a vegetational refuge of humid forest, corroborating the Refuge Theory and showing strong penetration of savanna species (“Cerradão”, Cerrado, Caatinga/“Carrasco”), emphasizing the action of climatic impulses that occurred in the Quaternary and pointing to the need to conservation strategies due to accelerated anthropism.

RESUMO No interior da região semiárida brasileira (bioma Caatinga), há ocorrência de refúgios de vegetação de outros biomas que se apresentam principalmente em topos de formações geológicas do período Pré-Cambriano, como a Chapada do Araripe. Este trabalho objetivou o conhecimento da estrutura, diversidade e similaridade florística de um fragmento de mata úmida na Chapada do Araripe, sul do Ceará (708m Alt.), visando subsidiar estratégias de conservação dessa comunidade, área de relevante valor ecológico, cultural e paisagístico. Em 13 parcelas de 25x25m (0,8 ha), foram inventariados todos os indivíduos com DAP ≥ 5cm, observando-se altura total. A similaridade florística foi observada pelo método de Jaccard a partir da comparação com outras sete áreas em diferentes regiões do Brasil. Foram encontradas 66 espécies distribuídas em 34 famílias, num total de 1.544 indivíduos com DA=1.997,30 ind.ha-1 e AB=32,618 m²ha-1. Fabaceae (25,75%) e Myrtaceae (6%) apresentaram maior número de espécies e Brosimum gaudichaudii apresentou maior IVI. O índice de Shannon (H’) foi 3,13 e a equabilidade de Pielou (J’) foi 0,75. A diversidade beta, comparada com outras áreas de mata úmida (core e disjuntas), foi considerada alta e a estatística apontou maior similaridade com área da mesorregião da mata pernambucana. Os resultados permitem caracterizar a área como refúgio vegetacional de mata úmida, corroborando com a teoria dos refúgios e evidenciam forte penetração de espécies savânicas (cerradão, cerrado, caatinga/carrasco) enfatizando a atuação de impulsos climáticos ocorridos no Quaternário e apontando para a necessidade de estratégias de conservação devido ao antropismo acelerado.

Military police activity is a dangerous, stressful occupation that poses health risks. Nutritional habits, physical activity, body composition and perceived stress, in addition to being interrelated, influence components of professional performance, such as work motivation, general self-efficacy and absenteeism. The objective was to compare nutritional habits, physical activity, body mass index and perceived stress of military police officers working in operational and administrative services, of both sexes, and to investigate the correlation between these variables. The Mann-Whitney U test was used for the comparative analysis and, for the correlational study, the Pearson correlation coefficient. Perceived stress and physical activity were inversely correlated (r=-0.268; p<0.001). Nutritional habits correlated significantly: with physical activity (r=0.381; p<0.001), directly; and, conversely, body mass index (r=0.256; p<0.001) and perceived stress (r=-0.201; p<0.01). Military police officers from the operational service had significantly higher body mass index (U=3695; p<0.001) and physical activity (U=3776; p<0.001) than their counterparts from the administrative service. Men had significantly higher body mass index (U=1333; p<0.001) and physical activity (U=2205; p<0.01) than women, who had significantly higher stress levels than men (U=1927; p<0.001). The correlations and significant differences observed point to the need to implement personnel and health management policies aimed at improving the lifestyle, body composition and stress of military police officers. Study limitations and future directions are discussed.

La actividad de la policía militar es una ocupación peligrosa y estresante que presenta riesgos para la salud. Hábitos alimentarios, actividad física, composición corporal y estrés percibido, además de estar interrelacionados, influyen en componentes del desempeño profesional, como motivación para el trabajo, autoeficacia general y ausentismo. El objetivo fue comparar hábitos nutricionales, actividad física, índice de masa corporal y estrés percibido de policías militares que trabajan en servicios operativos y administrativos, de ambos sexos, e investigar la correlación entre estas variables. Para el análisis comparativo se utilizó la prueba U de Mann-Whitney y, para el estudio correlacional, el coeficiente de correlación de Pearson. Estrés percibido y actividad física se correlacionaron inversamente (r=-0,268; p<0,001). Hábitos nutricionales correlacionaron significativamente: con actividad física (r=0,381; p<0,001), directamente; y, por el contrario, con índice de masa corporal (r=0,256; p<0,001) y estrés percibido (r=-0,201; p<0,01). Los policías militares del servicio operativo presentaron índice de masa corporal (U=3695; p<0,001) y actividad física (U=3776; p<0,001) significativamente mayores que sus homólogos del servicio administrativo. Hombres tenían un índice de masa corporal significativamente mayor (U=1333; p<0,001) y actividad física (U=2205; p<0,01) que las mujeres, quienes tenían niveles de estrés significativamente más altos que los hombres (U=1927; p<0,001). Las correlaciones y diferencias significativas observadas apuntan a necesidad de implementar políticas de gestión de personal y salud dirigidas a mejorar el estilo de vida, composición corporal y estrés de los policías militares. Se discuten limitaciones del estudio y direcciones futuras.

Os hábitos nutricionais, atividade física, composição corporal e estresse percebido, além de relacionarem-se entre si, influenciam componentes do desempenho profissional, tais como motivação para o trabalho, autoeficácia geral e absenteísmo. O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar hábitos nutricionais, atividade física, índice de massa corporal e estresse percebido de policiais militares que atuam no serviço operacional e administrativo, de ambos os sexos, e investigar a correlação entre essas variáveis. Utilizou-se o teste U de Mann-Whitney para a análise comparativa e, para o estudo correlacional, o coeficiente de correlação de Pearson. O estresse percebido e a atividade física correlacionaram-se inversamente (r=-0,268; p<0,001). Os hábitos nutricionais correlacionaram-se significativamente: à atividade física (r=0,381; p<0,001), diretamente; e, inversamente, ao índice de massa corporal (r=0,256; p<0,001) e ao estresse percebido (r=-0,201; p<0,01). Policiais militares do serviço operacional apresentaram índice de massa corporal (U=3695; p<0,001) e atividade física (U=3776; p<0,001) significativamente superiores aos seus congêneres do serviço administrativo. Homens apresentaram índice de massa corporal (U=1333; p<0,001) e atividade física (U=2205; p<0,01) significativamente superiores aos das mulheres, as quais apresentaram níveis de estresse significativamente superiores aos dos homens (U=1927; p<0,001). As correlações e diferenças significativas observadas alertam para a necessidade de implementação de políticas de gestão de pessoal e de saúde voltadas à melhoria do estilo de vida, da composição corporal e do estresse de policiais militares. São discutidas limitações do estudo e direções futuras.

Resumo O objetivo foi analisar e sistematizar evidências levantadas por estudos qualitativos sobre razões e consequências de perdas dentárias em adultos e idosos no Brasil. Foi executada revisão sistemática da literatura de pesquisas de métodos qualitativos, e metassíntese dos resultados. A população de estudo foi de adultos acima de 18 anos e idosos brasileiros. Foi realizada busca nas bases de dados BVS, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, BBO, Embase, EBSCO e SciELO. A síntese temática definiu oito temas analíticos sobre razões das perdas dentárias e três temas analíticos sobre as consequências. A dor dentária, o modelo de atenção, a situação financeira e o desejo de reabilitação protética foram fatores determinantes para as exodontias. Houve reconhecimento da negligência com o cuidado bucal e da naturalidade das perdas dentárias ligada à velhice. Dentes perdidos causaram impactos psicológicos e fisiológicos. É imperativo verificar se os fatores que causaram as perdas dentárias persistem, e quanto influenciam as decisões de extrair dentes na população jovem e adulta atual. Há que se mudar o modelo de atenção pela inclusão e qualificação da atenção em saúde bucal da população adulta jovem e idosa, sob pena de persistir o modelo de mutilação dentária e a cultura de edentulismo.

Abstract The objective of this cross-sectional study was to investigate whether total need satisfaction and three separate basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence and relatedness) predict life skills development in dual-career athletes according to sex, type of sport, type of higher education institution and financial support. Participants included 136 Brazilian university athletes (65 boys and 71 girls) aged 17–23 years. Data collection was conducted via Basic Needs Satisfaction in Sport Scale (BNSSS) and the Life Skills Scale for Sport (LSSS). Bayesian multilevel linear regression model found that total need satisfaction and three separate basic psychological needs (autonomy, competence and relatedness) influenced life skills (teamwork, social skills, leadership, goal setting and communication) and total life skills development in dual-career athletes. Total need satisfaction influenced leadership and total life skills. Competence and relatedness influenced goal seating, social skill, leadership and total life skills. Autonomy might not have a strong correlation with life skills development dimensions standardised scores and total life skills standardised score independent of sex, type of sport, type of higher education institution and financial support. Based on such findings, satisfaction of all three basic needs combined (total need satisfaction) and separate autonomy, competence and relatedness was positively associated with the development of life skills in dual-career athletes.

ABSTRACT In the last decade, other quality attributes have emerged as the main aspects that impact pork consumers acceptance, such as environmentally friendly production, nutritional value, and animal welfare. This study applies a Check-All-That-Apply (CATA) questionnaire for sensory characterization of loins from genetically lean immunocastrated male pigs fed diets containing either a standard commercial diet with 1.5 % soybean oil (control) or 3 % oil from either soybean oil (SO), canola oil (CO), or fish oil (FO) during the growing-finishing phases. Twenty CATA attributes for loin samples were generated. We interviewed 101 consumers to select all the CATA terms that they considered suitable to characterize sensory attributes of longissimus lumborum muscle samples of pigs from each dietary treatment. The CATA results indicated differences among pork loin samples depending on the source and inclusion level of dietary oil. Loins from pigs fed 3 % SO were characterized by a higher frequency of the “juicy texture” attribute (p < 0.05) and a lower frequency of the “dry texture” attribute (p < 0.05) compared to loins from 3 % FO-fed pigs. Moreover, loins from pigs fed 3 % SO had a lower citation frequency of the “tasteless” attribute (p < 0.05) compared to loins from 3 % FO-fed pigs. The attributes “cooked pork meat-like taste”, “juicy texture”, “tender texture”, and “brightness” were placed close to the overall liking. “Tender texture”, “juicy texture”, “pork meat-like” (odor and taste), and “cooked pork meat-like taste” attributes were considered drivers of liking. Feeding genetically lean immunocastrated male pigs with diets containing 3 % SO may be advisable from a pork sensory quality perspective.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Surface treatment is an important technique to increase adhesion between implants and bones, improving its mechanical characteristics and consequently the patient’s comfort. Objectives: Ni-Cr alloys were the object of study in this work, with the purpose of analyzing and evaluating the effect of thin films deposition of titanium nitride via plasma, on its surface and comparing with cathodic cage (CC) and hollow cathode (HC) methods, for dental applications. Methods: Eighteen samples were prepared and the experiment was conducted in two steps: the pre-sputtering (1h, 350 °C, gases: Ar and H) and sputtering (4h, 450 °C, gases: Ar, Ni, and H). To characterize and compare the samples with those of reference, the Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Vickers Microhardness and wettability tests were used. Results: The results presented by SEM showed that during the surface treatment using CC, voids were formed, and using HC, the samples showed a more homogenous behavior. In microhardness tests, using a 25gf load, it was possible to observe that the HC method allowed an increase of 87% when compared to the reference and treated samples. Significance: Lastly, it can be concluded that both methods are suitable for Ni-Cr alloy surface treatment, and the HC technique, a method already used by dental professionals, presents better results due to the formation of a thicker film layer.

Abstract Strong acids used in industrial applications as cleaning, descaling, among others, can severely damage metallic structures, requiring corrosion inhibitors to diminish or avoid these issues. Since many conventional compounds used for this purpose may result in environmental and human health issues, eco-friendly compounds such as Schiff bases have been recently investigated. The synthesis of three novel Schiff bases (SBs) was confirmed by infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance (1H-NMR). Weight loss measurements were carried out in 1 M HCl over 303K-333K. Furthermore, the combination of these compounds with a surfactant improved the efficiencies, reaching an efficiency of 93%. Optical and scanning electron microscopies confirmed the reduced roughness and pit depths of carbon steel samples. Density-functional theory calculations for neutral forms of SBs revealed that the geometrical and the energetical parameters are similar for the three studied SBs. The geometrical results exhibited more planar structures of protonated species, improving the chemical and physical interactions between aromatic rings and metallic atoms.

ABSTRACT Variation in rainfall affects crops; therefore, agricultural practices become essential for forage production in semi-arid regions. This study aimed to evaluate the influence of different agricultural practices on phyllochron, structural characteristics of forage cactus and millet, and their relations with crop yield using the principal component analysis (PCA). The design was in randomized blocks, with six treatments: sole cropped cactus without straw mulching, sole cropped cactus with straw mulching, sole cropped millet without straw mulching, sole cropped millet with straw mulching, and cactus intercropping with millet, with and without straw mulching, each with four replicates. There were three cactus cycles and nine millet cycles (three cycles of cultivars BRS1501 and six of IPA Bulk-1-BF). Biometric parameters were evaluated monthly, while yield was determined after the crop harvest. Phyllochron was determined with the regression analysis. The PCA was applied to structural characteristics and yield. The systems adopted did not influence the structural characteristics of cactus and millet ( p > 0.05), except for cladode thickness, which increased with straw mulching. Phyllochron of the millet reduced when the crop was intercropped. The structural characteristics of cladode length, width, and thickness influenced crop yield, mainly in systems with straw mulching. Straw mulching and intercropping alter phyllochron of cactus and millet. The adoption of straw mulching has a more significant relationship with cactus yield, whereas biometric variables influence crop yield for millet, not the cropping system.

Abstract Basketball is a sport practiced around the world in this way, performances tests especially with low-cost and accessible are suggested to adjust the training. The 00aim of present study was to evaluate and correlate the speed and jump performance of lower limbs of basketball athletes from the Praia Grande, city of São Paulo, Brazil. Twelve male athletes (6.92 ± 2.57 years of pratice) from the Basketball team of Praia Grande City, aged 18.7 ± 0.6 years, height 1.85 ± 0.06, body mass 83.66 ± 10.16 kg were evaluated. The athletes were submitted to test sessions using the protocol for evaluating the maximum speed of 20 meters and the unilateral vertical jump. The speed on 20 meter test was 3.53 ± 0.20 seconds. Although an asymmetry of 17.81 ± 14.64% was found, no statistical difference (p = 0.817) was found between the dominant (36.50 ± 7.36 cm) and non-dominant (35.92 ± 5.63 cm) of vertical jump performance. Additionally, correlation between 20-meter test and values jump was found to dominant leg (p = 0.042) but not to non-dominant leg (p = 0.704). In conclusion, although asymmetry was found between members of the dominant and non-dominant side of the pitch, did not show any difference in the vertical jump.

Resumo O basquete é um esporte praticado em todo o mundo, desta forma, testes de desempenho principalmente com baixo custo e acessíveis são sugeridos para adequar o treinamento. O objetivo do presente estudo foi avaliar e correlacionar a velocidade e o desempenho de salto de membros inferiores de atletas de basquetebol da cidade da Praia Grande, São Paulo, Brasil. Foram avaliados 12 atletas do sexo masculino (6,92 ± 2,57 anos de prática) da equipe de Basquetebol da Cidade de Praia Grande, com idade 18,7 ± 0,6 anos, estatura 1,85 ± 0,06, massa corporal 83,66 ± 10,16 kg. Os atletas foram submetidos a sessões de testes utilizando o protocolo de avaliação da velocidade máxima de 20 metros e do salto vertical unilateral. A velocidade no teste de 20 metros foi de 3,53 ± 0,20 segundos. Embora tenha sido encontrada uma assimetria de 17,81 ± 14,64%, não foi encontrada diferença estatística (p = 0,817) entre o desempenho do salto vertical dominante (36,50 ± 7,36 cm) e não dominante (35,92 ± 5,63 cm). Além disso, foi encontrada correlação entre o teste de 20 metros e os valores de salto para perna dominante (p = 0,042), mas não para perna não dominante (p = 0,704). Em conclusão, embora tenha sido encontrada assimetria entre membros do lado dominante e não dominante do campo, não houve diferença no salto vertical

Abstract This cross-sectional study compared the indicative of Muscle dysmorphia in CrossFit athletes. Participants were 276 male and female CrossFit athletes with an average age of 28.56 ± 8.08 years. A questionnaire was used with questions about age, practice time and frequency of Crossfit practice, as well as the questionnaire of the Adonis complex. Data analysis was conducted through Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Mann-Whitney tests, and Spearman correlation (p<0.05). The adopted significance was p<0.05. The results showed that men obtained higher indicative of muscle dysmorphia in comparison to women as well as competitive athletes showed higher score than recreational athletes (p<0.05). It was found significant (p<0.05) and negative correlation of the indicative of muscle dysmorphia with training frequency (Rho=-0.51) among recreational athletes, and positive correlation (Rho=0.19) among competitors. It is concluded that being male and having a competitive profile are actors in the presence of Muscle dysmorphia in CrossFit athletes.

Resumo Este estudo transversal comparou o indicativo de dismorfia muscular em praticantes de crossfit. Participaram da pesquisa 276 praticantes de CrossFit, de ambos os sexos, com idade média de 28,56 ± 8,08 anos. Utilizou-se um questionário com perguntas sobre idade, tempo e frequência da prática do Crossfit, além do questionário do complexo Adonis. A análise de dados foi conduzida por meio dos testes de Kolmogorov-Smirnov e Mann-Whitney, e a correlação de Spearman (p<0,05). Os resultados evidenciaram que os homens apresentaram maior indicativo de dismorfia muscular em quando comparados às mulheres assim como os competidores apresentaram escores superiores do que os praticantes recreacionais (p<0,05). Verificou-se correlação significativa (p<0,05) e negativa do indicativo de dismorfia muscular com a frequência de treinamento (Rho=-0.51) entre os praticantes recreacionais, e correlação positiva (Rho=0.19) entre os competidores. Concluiu-se que ser homem e ter um perfil competitivo são fatores que podem desencadear a dismorfia muscular em praticantes de crossfit.

Abstract Objective to analyze, in caregivers’ perception, the health care practices provided to Quilombola children. Method an exploratory-descriptive, qualitative study carried out in the Quilombola community Santa Rita de Barreira, São Miguel do Guamá, Pará, Brazil. Data were produced between July and September 2021, with caregivers of children aged zero to five years, through individual interviews guided with a semi-structured instrument. For analysis, Microsoft Office Excel 2019 and the Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires 0.7, alpha 2 were used, through Descending Hierarchical Classification. Results eighteen female caregivers participated, aged between 20 and 67 years. They related care to disease prevention and treatment, life habits, health services access and popular practices that value traditional medicine. Conclusions and implications for practice women’s knowledge and actions expressed influences from their culture, their beliefs and their ways of interpreting and symbolizing reality. Recognizing and questioning Quilombola practices in child care is a challenge that goes beyond the biomedical, reductionist and stigmatizing discourse, a context in which it is necessary to expand the interdisciplinary debate on the subject.

Resumen Objetivo analizar, en la percepción de los cuidadores, las prácticas de atención a la salud que se brindan a niños quilombolas. Método estudio exploratorio-descriptivo, cualitativo, realizado en la comunidad quilombola Santa Rita de Barreira, São Miguel do Guamá, Pará, Brasil. Los datos fueron recolectados entre julio y septiembre de 2021, con cuidadores de niños de cero a cinco años, a través de entrevistas individuales guiadas con instrumento semiestructurado. Para el análisis, se utilizó el programa Microsoft Office Excel 2019 y el software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires 0.7, alpha 2, a través de la Clasificación Jerárquica Descendente. Resultados participaron 18 cuidadoras, con edades entre 20 y 67 años. Relacionaron el cuidado con la prevención y tratamiento de enfermedades, hábitos de vida, acceso a los servicios de salud y prácticas populares que valoran la medicina tradicional. Conclusiones e implicaciones para la práctica los saberes y acciones de las mujeres expresaron la influencia de su cultura, sus creencias y sus formas de interpretar y simbolizar la realidad. Reconocer y cuestionar las prácticas quilombolas en el cuidado de los niños es un desafío que va más allá del discurso biomédico, reduccionista y estigmatizador, contexto en el que es necesario ampliar el debate interdisciplinario sobre el tema.

Método estudo exploratório-descritivo, qualitativo, realizado na comunidade quilombola Santa Rita de Barreira, São Miguel do Guamá, Pará, Brasil. Os dados foram produzidos entre julho e setembro de 2021, com cuidadores de crianças de zero a cinco anos, por meio de entrevistas individuais guiadas com instrumento semiestruturado. Para análise, utilizou-se o Microsoft Office Excel 2019 e o software Interface de R pour les Analyses Multidimensionnelles de Textes et de Questionnaires 0.7, alpha 2, por meio da Classificação Hierárquica Descendente. Resultados participaram 18 cuidadores do sexo feminino, com idade entre 20 e 67 anos. Relacionaram o cuidado à prevenção e ao tratamento de doenças, aos hábitos de vida, ao acesso aos serviços de saúde e às práticas populares que valorizam a medicina tradicional. Conclusões e implicações para a prática os saberes e as ações das mulheres expressaram influências de sua cultura, suas crenças e seus modos de interpretar e simbolizar a realidade. Reconhecer e problematizar as práticas quilombolas no cuidado às crianças é um desafio que ultrapassa o discurso biomédico, reducionista e estigmatizante, contexto no qual é preciso ampliar o debate interdisciplinar sobre o tema.
