Abstract Three caridean shrimps have their distribution range extended on the Brazilian coast. Alpheus carlae Anker, 2012 (Alpheidae), previously reported from Ceará to São Paulo, and Typton fapespae Almeida, Anker & Mantelatto, 2014 (Palaemonidae), previously known only from Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, are both now reported from Santa Catarina, the new southernmost record of these species in the Atlantic Ocean. Athanas nitescens (Leach, 1813) (Alpheidae), an invasive species from the eastern Atlantic first reported from São Paulo in 2012 based on a single male, is now confirmed to have established populations in Brazil with the finding of ovigerous females on the coast of Rio de Janeiro. Illustrations for all three species are provided based on the new material.

Abstract Two species of the palaemonid genus Periclimenaeus Borradaile, 1915, P. ascidiarum Holthuis, 1951 and P. maxillulidens (Schmitt, 1936), are reported from the offshore Escalvada Island, Espírito Santo, Brazil. The location represents a new southernmost record for these species in the western Atlantic. Both species were found inside an undescribed tunicate species of Diplosoma, dwelling inside the circulatory channels, among the zooid clusters. Although P. ascidiarum is known to occur in tunicates, the finding of the rare P. maxillulidens inside an ascidian host represents the first record of this association. Illustrations for both species and a taxonomic key for the southwestern Atlantic Periclimenaeus are provided based on the present material and literature records.

Abstract Previously known only from Argentina and Uruguay, Anacalliax argentinensis is herein reported for the first time from Rio de Janeiro, representing the first occurrence of genus Anacalliax in the Brazilian coast and the northernmost record of the species in the Atlantic Ocean. Morphological variations on the third maxilliped and first pereopods are discussed based in our material.

O presente estudo trata de quatro espécies de camarões pontoniíneos do gênero Typton Costa, 1844, associados a esponjas, provenientes do Brasil: T. distinctus Chace, 1972, T. fapespae Almeida, Anker & Mantelatto, 2014, T. prionurus Holthuis, 1951, e T. vulcanus Holthuis, 1951. Typton distinctus é registrada pela primeira vez para o Rio de Janeiro, o que amplia significativamente a sua distribuição meridional (no Brasil esta espécie era conhecida apenas de Pernambuco). Typton fapespae, recentemente descrita de São Paulo, é adicionalmente registrada para o Rio de Janeiro. Typton prionurus e T. vulcanus são registradas para a Bahia. Typton prionurus era conhecida anteriormente no Brasil com base em um registro duvidoso para a costa do Pará, enquanto que T. vulcanus é registrada pela primeira vez para o Atlântico Sul Ocidental (Brasil). Typton prionurus e T. vulcanus são ilustradas.

The present study deals with Brazilian material of four sponge-dwelling species of the pontoniine shrimp genus Typton Costa, 1844: T. distinctus Chace, 1972, T. fapespae Almeida, Anker & Mantelatto, 2014, T. prionurus Holthuis, 1951, and T. vulcanus Holthuis, 1951. Typton distinctus and T. fapespae are recorded for the first time from Rio de Janeiro, representing a significant southward range extension for the former species (previously known only from Pernambuco) and a slight northward extension for the latter species (previously known only from São Paulo). Typton prionurus and T. vulcanus are recorded for the first time from Bahia. The former species was previously known from Brazil based on a single questionable record from the coast of Pará, whereas the latter species is recorded from Brazil and the southwestern Atlantic for the first time. Illustrations are provided for T. prionurus and T. vulcanus.
