Abstract Heterobranch sea slugs (Gastropoda) present reduction, internalization, or absence of shell, and include more than 6,000 described species. Approximately 250 species are recorded from Brazil but only 14 had been previously recorded from Rio Grande do Norte, on the Brazilian northeastern coast. As a result of different expeditions conducted between 2008 and 2020, 41 species were collected and identified. Among them, five species were recorded for the first time from the South Atlantic Ocean: Chelidonura hirundinina (Quoy & Gaimard, 1833); Sclerodoris prea (Ev. Marcus & Er. Marcus, 1967); Thuridilla malaquita Ortea & Buske, 2014; Berthella nebula Ghanimi, Schrödl, Goddard, Ballesteros, Gosliner & Valdés, 2020 and Berthella vialactea Ghanimi, Schrödl, Goddard, Ballesteros, Gosliner & Valdés, 2020. Thirty-six species are recorded for the first time from Rio Grande do Norte. The present survey expands the knowledge of the diversity of sea slugs from Brazil and supports the hypothesis of similarity between the heterobranch sea slug fauna from the northeastern Brazil and the Caribbean Sea.

Abstract Contemporary organizations are showing a growing interest in the reuse of solid waste from industrial processes with the intention of reducing environmental impacts and reducing costs. The mining activity is one of the main waste generators in Brazil. In parallel, geopolymeric materials have been gaining prominence in studies that make it a possible substitute for ordinary Portland cement, due to its environmental advantages. Therefore, the present research proposes to study the feasibility of using K-feldspar mining waste as a possible raw material for the manufacture of geopolymer cements. In addition, in line with the latest technological trends, the addition of multi-layered graphene was evaluated as a structural reinforcement for geopolymeric mortar. Graphene was added in three percentages: 0.1 wt.%, 0.3 wt.% and 0.5 wt.%. Specimens were produced in order to evaluate the compressive strength of these materials. As a complementary characterization, the analysis of EDX, laser diffraction particle size and XRD of the waste were performed, as well as SEM and TEM analysis of the graphene used. The results showed that the geopolimerization was effective and that the 0.5% graphene content promoted a significant increase of 65% in the compressive strength. It is concluded, therefore, that with the achieved mechanical strength values, the studied waste can be applied as mortar in auxiliary structures using the geopolymerization technique and that graphene can be used to promote increases in the mechanical strength of the material produced.

O presente estudo foi realizado com dois espécimes do molusco nudipleura Pleurobranchus areolatus que demonstraram acumular derivados oxidados da rodriguesina A. O ácido rodriguêsico apresenta um grupo ácido carboxílico no lugar do grupo metila de uma cadeia alquila terminal da rodriguesina A. Um grupo hidroxamato foi observado na porção dicetopiperazínica do ácido rodriguêsico. As estruturas do ácido rodriguêsico e do hidroxamato do ácido rodriguêsico foram estabelecidas por análise de seus dados espectroscópicos, inclusive sua configuração absoluta. Dois ésteres metílicos dos ácidos rodriguêsicos foram isolados como compostos majoritários, porém considerados como artefatos de isolamento.

In the present investigation, two specimens of the nudipleuran mollusc Pleurobranchus areolatus have shown to accumulate oxidized rodriguesin A derivatives. Rodriguesic acid presents a carboxylic acid replacing the terminal methyl group of the alkyl chain of rodriguesin A. A hydroxamate group was also present on the diketopiperazine moiety of a rodriguesic acid derivative. The structures of both rodriguesic acid and of rodriguesic acid hydroxamate have been established by analysis of spectroscopic data, including their absolute configuration. Two methyl esters of the rodriguesic acids have been isolated as major compounds, but were considered to be isolation artifacts.

The chemical investigation of the MeOH extract from the bryozoan B. dentata MeOH yielded tambjamines A (1), C (3), D (4), K (6), aldehyde 8 and the new tambjamine J1(9), while the extract of its predator, the nudibranch Tambja stegosauriformis, yielded tambjamines C and K, along with aldehyde 8. Furodisinin lactone (11) was isolated from the nudibranch Hypselodoris lajensis, a compound previously isolated from Dysidea sponges. The alkaloid 2,5,6-tribromo-N-methylgramine (12) was isolated from the nudibranch Okenia zoobotryon and from its prey, the bryozoan Zoobotryon verticillatum, the only source of 12 previously known.
