Abstract Hydroxytyrosol (HT) is a natural phenolic compound found in leaves of olive trees. It is a photosensitive solid phytochemical constituent and an irritant substance to skin and mucosa as pure drug. HT is a lipophilic chemical constituent and shows low solubility in water, bitter taste, and instability to oxidizing atmosphere. Considering the limitations for its suitable therapeutic use, the aim of the present study was to obtain, to characterize, to quantify, and to evaluate the stability of HT-loaded poly(ԑ-caprolactone) nanocapsules for its further use in pharmaceutical and nutraceutical products. Nanocapsules were prepared by method of interfacial deposition of the preformed polymer. The formulations were characterized by morphological and spectroscopic methods. The UHPLC-PDA analytical method was developed and validated for quantifying the HT encapsulation. Physicochemical stability assay was performed for 120 days. Nanocapsules were successfully obtained by the proposed method. The morphological evaluation demonstrated the drug absence in the nanocapsule surface. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy demonstrated the drug nanoencapsulation. The analytical method was validated and confirmed a high HT encapsulation efficiency over 95%. Considering the physicochemical stability testing, the polydispersity index changed after 30 days for NC-2 (HT at 2 mg/mL) and after 90 days for NC-5 (HT at 5 mg/mL). Zeta potential changed after 60 days for both formulations (NC-2 and NC-5). pH values were modified after 60 days for NC-5 and after 90 days for NC-2. HT-loaded PCL nanocapsules demonstrate adequate physicochemical features and high drug encapsulation. The different formulations revealed stability changes from 30 to 90 days. Additional in vitro and in vivo evaluations may be performed in order to use these nanoformulations for treating several diseases based on oxidative-inflammatory environments.

ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Achalasia is an esophageal motility disorder, with clinical presentation of dysphagia and regurgitation. This is a chronic condition with no cure. Current treatment options aim to reduce lower esophageal sphincter tone by pharmacological, endoscopic or surgical means, with the aim of improving patients’ symptoms. Peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) is an alternative endoscopic surgery to Heller cardiomyotomy, in which the procedure is performed orally, by endoscopy, offering efficacy comparable to surgical myotomy, with relative ease and minimal invasion, without external incisions. AIMS: To study the safety of POEM by analyzing its results, adverse events and perioperative complications and the main ways to overcome them, in addition to evaluating the effectiveness of the procedure and the short-term postoperative quality of life. METHODS: A qualitative and quantitative, observational and cross-sectional study that analyzed patients who underwent the POEM in a reference center, from December 2016 to December 2022, maintaining the technical standard of pre-, peri- and postoperative protocol. RESULTS: A total of 94 patients were included in the study, and only three had postoperative complications. The average early postoperative Eckardt score was 0.93 and the late 1.40, with a mean improvement of 7.1 in early results and 6.63 in late results (p<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: POEM can be reproduced with an excellent safety profile, significant relief of symptoms and improvement in esophageal emptying, and in quality of life.

RESUMO RACIONAL: A acalasia é uma desordem da motilidade esofágica, com apresentação clínica de disfagia e regurgitação, uma condição crônica sem cura. As opções de tratamentos atuais visam reduzir o tônus do esfíncter esofagiano inferior (EEI) por meios farmacológicos, endoscópicos ou cirúrgicos, com o objetivo de aliviar os sintomas dos pacientes. A miotomia endoscópica peroral, sigla do inglês (POEM) é uma cirurgia endoscópica alternativa à cardiomiotomia a Heller (CH), em que a miotomia é realizada por via oral, por endoscopia, oferecendo eficácia comparável a miotomia cirúrgica, com relativa facilidade e mínima invasão, sem incisões externas. OBJETIVOS: Analisar a segurança do POEM analisando seus resultados, eventos adversos, complicações perioperatórias e suas principais formas de contorná-los, além de avaliar a eficácia do procedimento e a qualidade de vida pós-operatória, em curto prazo. MÉTODOS: Estudo qualitativo e quantitativo, observacional e transversal avaliando pacientes que realizaram o POEM em um centro de referência, entre dezembro de 2016 até dezembro de 2022, mantendo padrão técnico de preparo pré, peri e pós-operatório. RESULTADOS: Foram incluídos no estudo 94 pacientes e apenas 3 apresentaram complicações pós-operátorias. O escore de Eckardt médio precoce pós-operatório foi de 0,93 e o tardio de 1,40, com melhora média de 7,1 em resultados precoces e de 6,63 em resultados tardios (p<0,05). CONCLUSÕES: O POEM pode ser reproduzido com excelente perfil de segurança, alívio significativo dos sintomas e melhora do esvaziamento do esôfago, oferecendo melhora na qualidade de vida.

Abstract Objective: To evaluate the accuracy of preoperative positron emission tomography/computed tomography with 68Ga-labeled prostate-specific membrane antigen (68Ga-PSMA PET/CT) for staging prostate cancer and compare it with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) using histopathology of surgical specimens as the gold standard. Materials and Methods: In this retrospective study, 65 patients with prostate cancer were analyzed. Results: The accuracy of 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT for tumor detection was 95%, and that of MRI was 91%. There was no difference between 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT and MRI regarding localization of the lesion. The sensitivity of 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT for detecting extraprostatic extension was quite low (14%). For detection of seminal vesicle invasion, 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT showed a sensitivity of 57% and accuracy of 91%. There was a moderate correlation between the maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax) and the serum level of prostate-specific antigen (p < 0.01; ρ = 0.368) and between the SUVmax and the International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grade (p < 0.01; ρ = 0.513). Conclusion: 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT is a promising tool for detecting and evaluating the primary tumor, which can alter the staging and management of the disease.

Resumo Objetivo: Avaliar a acurácia da tomografia por emissão de pósitrons/tomografia computadorizada com PSMA (PET-PMSA) pré-operatória para estadiamento do câncer de próstata e compará-la com a ressonância magnética (RM) utilizando o histopatológico cirúrgico como padrão ouro. Materiais e Métodos: Neste estudo retrospectivo foram analisados 65 pacientes com câncer de próstata. Resultados: A acurácia da PET-PSMA para a detecção tumoral foi de 95% e a da RM foi de 91%. Não houve diferença entre a PET-PSMA e a RM quanto à localização da lesão. A PET-PSMA apresentou baixa sensibilidade (14%) para detecção de extensão extraprostática em comparação ao histopatológico. Para detecção de invasão de vesícula seminal, a PET-PSMA apresentou sensibilidade de 57% e acurácia de 91% em comparação ao histopatológico. Houve correlação moderada entre o SUVmax e o PSA (p < 0,01; ρ = 0,368) e entre o SUVmax e o ISUP (p < 0,01; ρ = 0,513). Conclusão: A PET-PSMA é uma ferramenta promissora para detecção e avaliação do tumor primário, alterando o estadiamento e a conduta do paciente.

Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate several attempts to knock down neats and to correlate the success obtained with actions performed by the horse/rider sets through an analysis of public domain videos of vaquejadas. Approximately 300 videos were considered, and the groups were evaluated according to the competition category, that is, amateur/aspirant and professional, and the animals used in the test, that is, pulling or tracking of the neat. It was found that for the pull set in the professional competition category, only the characteristics of directing the cow on the track, and the guiding behavior and positioning in the pull were significant (p<0.01), while for the amateur/aspirant category, the characteristics of remaining in the pull after falling of the cattle and of the behavior at the gate had an effect (p<0.01). The characteristic of remaining in the pull after the fall of the neats, in the category of professional pulling athletes, exists in greater prevalence during the competition with 85.3%, while the characteristic of directing the neat to the side of the track is performed by 87.6% of the competitors. For the set used to track the cattle, the values of the dimensions 1 and 2 were 96.56% and 3.43%, respectively, which is 99.9% of the total variance of the data based on those selected for the final result of “earn the ox”. The use of multiple diversity analysis in this study of variables associated with the vaquejada set proved to be quite advantageous, and there was not much variation in the elements obtained with a greater weight in the determination of the final result.

Resumo Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar por meio de análise de vídeos de domínio público de competições de vaquejadas, diversas tentativas de derrubada de rezes e correlacionar o êxito obtido com ações desempenhadas pelos conjuntos cavalo/ cavaleiro. Foram considerados aproximadamente 300 vídeos, sendo os grupos avaliados quanto à categoria de competição, Amador/Aspirante e Profissional, e aos animais utilizados na prova, Puxar ou Esteirar a rês. Verificou-se que para o conjunto de puxar, da categoria profissional de competição, apenas as características de direcionamento da rês na pista, comportamento na condução e posicionamento na puxada foram significativos (p<0,01), enquanto para a categoria amador/ aspirante houve efeito (p<0,01) para a característica de permanecer ou não na puxada após queda da rês e para o comportamento na porteira. A característica, permanecer na puxada após a queda da rês, na categoria de atletas puxadores profissionais, existe em maior prevalência em ações durante a prova com 85,3% dos casos, enquanto a característica de direcionar a rês para a lateral da pista é realizada por 87,6% dos competidores. Para o conjunto utilizado para esteirar a rês, os valores das dimensões 1 e 2 foram de 96,56% e 3,43%, respectivamente, totalizando 99,9% da variância total dos dados com base nos critérios selecionados para o resultado final de “Valeu o boi”. O uso da análise de correspondência múltipla no estudo de variáveis associadas ao sucesso em competições de vaquejada mostrou-se bastante eficaz, no que tange a diminuição do universo de elementos com maior peso de determinação no resultado final obtido.

Abstract This study aims to examine the effects of the determinant factors of efficiency in the management of public resources applied in the Federal Network of Professional, Scientific and Technological Education in Brazil. The research sample comprises 40 federal institutions, in the period between 2009 and 2019, totaling 368 observations. Efficiency was estimated through data envelopment analysis. Subsequently, the factors that influence efficiency were identified through regression analysis. The results show that student/teacher ratio, school retention, financial aid, gender and manager training improve efficiency, while teacher qualification reduces it. Evidence shows that the effects of explanatory variables differ depending on the regions in which the institutions are located. The findings of this study allow questioning the process of allocation of public resources and the decision-making of managers to maximize efficiency in Education.

Resumen Este estudio tiene como objetivo examinar los efectos de los factores determinantes de la eficiencia en la gestión de los recursos públicos aplicados en la Red Federal de Educación Profesional, Científica y Tecnológica en Brasil. La muestra de la investigación comprende 40 instituciones federales, en el período comprendido entre 2009 y 2019, totalizando 368 observaciones. La eficiencia se estimó a través del análisis envolvente de datos. Posteriormente, se identificaron los factores que influyen en la eficiencia mediante análisis de regresión. Los resultados muestran que la relación alumno/docente, la retención escolar, el auxilio financiero, el sexo y la formación del gestor mejoran la eficiencia, mientras que la titulación docente la reduce. Las evidencias demuestran que los efectos de las variables explicativas difieren a partir de las regiones en las que las instituciones están localizadas. Los hallazgos de este estudio permiten cuestionar el proceso de asignación de recursos públicos y la toma de decisiones de los gestores para maximizar la eficiencia en la Educación.

Resumo Este estudo tem o objetivo de examinar os efeitos dos fatores determinantes da eficiência na gestão dos recursos públicos aplicados na Rede Federal de Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica do Brasil. A amostra da pesquisa compreende 40 instituições federais, no período entre 2009 e 2019, totalizando 368 observações. A eficiência foi estimada através da análise envoltória de dados. Posteriormente, identificaram-se os fatores que influenciam a eficiência através da análise de regressão. Os resultados mostram que a relação aluno/docente, a retenção escolar, o auxílio financeiro, o sexo e a formação do gestor melhoram a eficiência, enquanto a titulação docente a reduz. As evidências demonstram que os efeitos das variáveis explicativas diferem a partir das regiões nas quais as instituições estão localizadas. As descobertas desse estudo permitem questionar o processo de alocação de recursos públicos e a tomada de decisão dos gestores no intuito de maximizar a eficiência na Educação.

Resumen Marco contextual: la familia es el contexto privilegiado de apoyo a la vida y la salud de las personas. El enfoque sistémico de la familia ha ganado importancia. La Ontología de Enfermería propone una estructura donde se concretan conceptos de la disciplina y sus relaciones, describiendo una representación formal de lo conocimiento de enfermería. Objetivo: representar el conocimiento de enfermería sobre la familia como cliente del cuidado, en tres clases de ítems de información. Metodología: estudio cualitativo inferencial, con análisis de contenido a la parametrización del Sistema de Apoyo a la Práctica de Enfermería Portugués - SAPE®, revisión de literatura y focus group. Resultados: en la parametrización nacional, hubo poca visibilidad de la familia como unidad de cuidado, así como falta de representación de los modelos conceptuales que sustentan el conocimiento disciplinar. En Ontología de Enfermería, el proceso familiar engloba: organización del funcionamiento de la casa y edificio residencial; preparación familiar para integrar a un familiar dependiente en el autocuidado; preparación familiar para la llegada del recién nacido y planificación familiar. Para cada dominio, se especificaron tres clases de información de enfermería. Conclusión: este estudio se presenta como un aporte a la formalización del conocimiento de enfermería en el domínio del proceso familiar.

Abstract Background: the family is the privileged context of support for the life and health of individuals. The systemic approach to the family has gained relevance. The Nursing Ontology proposes a structure where concepts of the discipline and their relationships are specified, describing a formal representation of nursing knowledge. Objectives: representing nursing knowledge about the family as a care client, in three classes of information items: data, diagnoses and interventions. Methodology: inferential qualitative study, content analysis was performed to customization in the Portuguese Nursing Practice Support System - SAPE®, literature review and focus group. Results: In the national customization, there was little visibility of the family as a care unit, as well as lack of representation of the conceptual models that support disciplinary knowledge. In Nursing Ontology, the family process encompasses: organization of the functioning of the house and residential building; family preparation to integrate a dependent family member in self-care; family preparation for the arrival of the newborn and family planning. For each domain, three classes of nursing information were specified that represent the elements of the decision-making process. Conclusion: this study is presented as a contribution to the formalization of nursing knowledge in Family Process domain.

Resumo Enquadramento: a família é o contexto privilegiado de cuidados de suporte à vida e saúde dos indivíduos. A abordagem sistémica da família tem, conceptualmente vindo a ganhar projeção. A Ontologia de Enfermagem, propõe uma estrutura onde os conceitos da disciplina e as suas relações são especificados, descrevendo uma representação formal do conhecimento de enfermagem. Objetivos: representar o conhecimento em enfermagem sobre a família como cliente dos cuidados, em três classes de itens de informação: dados, diagnósticos e intervenções. Metodologia: estudo qualitativo inferencial; realizada análise documental à parametrização do Sistema de Apoio à Prática de Enfermagem - SAPE®, revisão da literatura e focus group. Resultados: na parametrização nacional constatou-se pouca visibilidade da família como unidade de cuidados bem como a ausência de representação dos modelos concetuais que suportam o conhecimento disciplinar. Na Ontologia de Enfermagem, o processo familiar engloba: organização do funcionamento da casa e edifício residencial; preparação da família para integrar um familiar dependente no autocuidado; preparação da família para a chegada do recém-nascido; e, planeamento familiar. Para cada domínio foram especificadas três classes de informações de enfermagem. Conclusão: Este estudo apresenta-se como um contributo para a formalização do conhecimento de enfermagem no domínio do Processo Familiar.

ABSTRACT This prospective study describes the use of Gene-Xpert Ultra for the diagnosis of extrapulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB) in children and adolescents, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Eighteen patients were studied; the final diagnosis of EPTB was established in 13 (72%). Gene-Xpert Ultra results showed detection in 10/13 (77%) of EPTB cases (7 of these 10 with trace-positive results). Gene-Xpert Ultra proved to be a promising method for the diagnosis of childhood EPTB.

SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: Brazil ranks second in gross numbers of kidney and liver transplantations, but deceased organ donation is still far below the national demand for organs. Apart from a high family refusal rate, another significant barrier is healthcare workers’ inappropriate knowledge concerning organ donation and transplantation. Since most of them have recently graduated from university, this study aimed to evaluate the awareness and attitudes of medical students concerning organ donation. METHODS: Between August and September 2021, a web-based survey with 10 overlapping questions was sent to medical students from several Brazilian universities after advertisements on social media. RESULTS: A total of 391 (60% female, mean age: 23 [17–41] years) students answered the survey. Most of them (91%) would like to donate organs in case of death, and 75% have already notified their family. The main reasons for not becoming a donor were fear of body manipulation (n=3) or family reaction (n=2) and religious reasons (n=2). When inquired, 54% were unaware of brain death criteria, and half of them claimed to have never discussed the topic in medical classes. Except for Glasgow coma scale (97%), pupillary (72%), and corneal (53%) reflexes, less than 25% knew other reflexes required for brain death diagnosis. CONCLUSION: Most medical students declared themselves as organ donors, and most informed their families. However, many students have never learned about crucial steps toward organ donation, which may impact their adequate recognition of potential organ donors later in life.

RESUMO Objetivo: Validar com o público-alvo a usabilidade e aparência do álbum seriado sobre os sinais de alerta à saúde de crianças menores de 2 meses. Método: Estudo metodológico de validação com o público-alvo de um material educativo tipo álbum seriado. Participaram 11 mães com filhos menores de 2 meses de idade. Os domínios avaliados foram: Objetivos, Organização, Estilo de escrita, Aparência e Motivação. Os dados foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva e cálculo do Índice de Concordância dos Dados. Resultados: O Índice de Concordância dos Dados global foi elevado (0,99). As mães relataram críticas positivas, reconhecendo a excelência do material: figuras atrativas, de fácil entendimento e compreensão. Conclusão: A validação do álbum seriado adiciona habilidades e conhecimentos às mães na identificação dos sinais de alerta à saúde de seus filhos, trazendo autonomia, corresponsabilidade e o desenvolvimento de melhores práticas à saúde infantil.

ABSTRACT Objective: To validate, with the target audience, the usability and appearance of a serialized album about the warning signs to the health of children below 2 months. Method: Methodological validation study with the target population of an educational material in the form of a serialized album. 11 mothers with children under 2 months of age participated. The domains evaluated were: Objectives, Organization, Writing Style, Appearance, and Motivation. Data were analyzed using descriptive and statistics, and the data agreement index was calculated. Results: The global data agreement index was high (0.99). Mothers had positive responses, recognizing the excellence of the material: attractive figures that were easy to understand. Conclusion: The validation of the serialized album provides mothers with the abilities and knowledge they need to identify warning signs in regard to the health of their children, providing them with autonomy, corresponsibility, and helping them develop better child health practices.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Validar junto al público la usabilidad y apariencia del álbum seriado sobre las señales de alerta a la salud de los niños menores de dos meses. Método: Estudio metodológico de valoración con el público-objetivo de un material educativo tipo álbum seriado. Participaron once madres con hijos menores de dos meses. Los ámbitos evaluados fueron: Objetivos, Organización, Estilo de redacción, Apariencia y Motivación. Los datos se analizaron mediante estadísticas descriptivas y el cálculo del índice de concordancia de datos. Resultados: El Índice de Concordancia de Datos global fue alto (0,99). Las madres han hecho comentarios positivos, reconociendo la excelencia del material: figuras atractivas, de fácil comprensión y entendimiento. Conclusión: La validación del álbum seriado agrega habilidades y conocimientos a las madres en la identificación de las señales de alerta para la salud de sus hijos, aportando autonomía, corresponsabilidad y el desarrollo de mejores prácticas para la salud de los niños.

ABSTRACT Background: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is an immune-mediated disorder that includes Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis. CD is characterized by a transmural intestinal involvement from the mouth to the anus with recurrent and remitting symptoms that can lead to progressive bowel damage and disability over time. Objective: To guide the safest and effective medical treatments of adults with CD. Methods: This consensus was developed by stakeholders representing Brazilian gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons (Brazilian Organization for Crohn's disease and Colitis (GEDIIB)). A systematic review of the most recent evidence was conducted to support the recommendations/statements. All included recommendations and statements were endorsed in a modified Delphi panel by the stakeholders and experts in IBD with an agreement of at least 80% or greater consensus rate. Results and conclusion: The medical recommendations (pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions) were mapped according to the stage of treatment and severity of the disease in three domains: management and treatment (drug and surgical interventions), criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of medical treatment, and follow-up/patient monitoring after initial treatment. The consensus is targeted towards general practitioners, gastroenterologists, and surgeons interested in treating and managing adults with CD and supports the decision-making of health insurance companies, regulatory agencies, and health institutional leaders or administrators.

RESUMO Contexto: A doença inflamatória intestinal (DII) é uma doença imunomediada que inclui a doença de Crohn (DC) e a retocolite ulcerativa. A DC é caracterizada por um envolvimento intestinal transmural da boca ao ânus com sintomas recorrentes e remitentes que podem levar a danos intestinais progressivos e incapacidade ao longo do tempo. Objetivo: Orientar os tratamentos médicos mais seguros e eficazes de adultos com DC. Métodos: Este consenso foi desenvolvido por autores que representam gastroenterologistas e cirurgiões brasileiros especialistas em doenças colorretais (GEDIIB, Organização Brasileira de Doença de Crohn e Colite). Uma revisão sistemática das evidências mais recentes foi realizada para apoiar as recomendações/declarações. Todas as recomendações e declarações incluídas foram endossadas em um painel Delphi modificado pelas partes interessadas e especialistas em DII com uma concordância de pelo menos 80% ou mais. Resultados e conclusão: As recomendações médicas (intervenções farmacológicas e não farmacológicas) foram mapeadas de acordo com o estágio de tratamento e gravidade da doença em três domínios: manejo e tratamento (intervenções medicamentosas e cirúrgicas), critérios para avaliar a eficácia do tratamento médico, e acompanhamento/monitoramento do paciente após o tratamento inicial. O consenso é direcionado a clínicos gerais, gastroenterologistas e cirurgiões interessados em tratar e gerenciar adultos com DC e apoia a tomada de decisões de companhias de seguro de saúde, agências reguladoras e líderes ou administradores de instituições de saúde.

UC is a progressive disease that affects the colorectal mucosa causing debilitating symptoms leading to high morbidity and work disability. As a consequence of chronic colonic inflammation, UC is also associated with an increased risk of colorectal cancer. Objective: This consensus aims to provide guidance on the most effective medical management of adult patients with UC. Methods: A consensus statement was developed by stakeholders representing Brazilian gastroenterologists and colorectal surgeons (Brazilian Organization for Crohn’s Disease and Colitis [GEDIIB]). A systematic review including the most recent evidence was conducted to support the recommendations and statements. All recommendations/statements were endorsed using a modified Delphi Panel by the stakeholders/experts in inflammatory bowel disease with at least 80% or greater consensus. Results and conclusion: The medical recommendations (pharmacological and non-pharmacological) were mapped according to the stage of treatment and severity of the disease onto three domains: management and treatment (drug and surgical interventions), criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of medical treatment, and follow-up/patient monitoring after initial treatment. The consensus targeted general practitioners, gastroenterologists and surgeons who manage patients with UC, and supports decision-making processes by health insurance companies, regulatory agencies, health institutional leaders, and administrators.

RESUMO Contexto: As doenças inflamatórias intestinais são doenças imunomediadas que incluem a doença de Crohn (DC) e a retocolite ulcerativa (RCU). A RCU é uma doença progressiva que acomete a mucosa colorretal causando sintomas debilitantes levando a alta morbidade e incapacidade laboral. Como consequência da inflamação crônica do cólon, a RCU também está associada a um risco aumentado de câncer colorretal. Objetivo: Este consenso visa fornecer orientações sobre o manejo médico mais eficaz de pacientes adultos com RCU. Métodos: As recomendações do consenso foram desenvolvidas por gastroenterologistas e cirurgiões colorretais referências no Brasil (membros da Organização Brasileira para Doença de Crohn e Colite [GEDIIB]). Uma revisão sistemática, incluindo as evidências mais recentes, foi conduzida para apoiar as recomendações. Todas as recomendações foram endossadas pelas partes interessadas/especialistas em doença inflamatória intestinal usando um Painel Delphi modificado. O nível de concordância para alcançar consenso foi de 80% ou mais. Resultados e conclus ão: As recomendações médicas (farmacológicas e não farmacológicas) foram mapeadas de acordo com o estágio de tratamento e gravidade da doença em três domínios: manejo e tratamento (intervenções medicamentosas e cirúrgicas), critérios para avaliar a eficácia do tratamento médico, e acompanhamento/monitoramento do paciente após o tratamento inicial. O consenso foi direcionado a clínicos gerais, gastroenterologistas e cirurgiões que tratam pacientes com RCU e apoia os processos de tomada de decisão por companhias de seguro de saúde, agências reguladoras, líderes institucionais de saúde e administradores.

The purpose of the research was to analyze the discourse of Physical Education (PE) teachers who work with volleyball about a digital ditactic material available on YouTube to volleyball teaching. For this, was used a method of production and analysis of data named Collective Subject Discourse. Participated of the research seven PE teachers who taught in the final years of elementar school and high school in public and private schools in a city from the interior of São Paulo state. The discourses were analyzed and discussed from three main themes: video content, use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) by teachers and continuing education of schools Physical Education teachers. Among the main results, teachers indicated the importance of digital didactic materials that can contribute to ther formation and acting, recognized the benefits of the use of technologies in this process as well as the use of vídeos, an important tool to help the pedagogical practice of teachers in the elaboration of classes. It’s concluded that the digital didactic material evaluated can contribute to the teaching of volleyball in PE classes especially as support to teachers in the elaboration of classes about this theme.

O objetivo da pesquisa foi avaliar a viabilidade de um material didático digital disponibilizado no YouTube, a partir do entendimento de professores atuantes com voleibol em aulas de Educação Física escolar (EFE). Para isso, optou-se por um método de produção e análise de dados nomeado de Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Participaram da pesquisa sete professores de EFE que ministravam aulas nos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental e no Ensino Médio. Os discursos foram analisados e discutidos a partir de três temáticas principais: conteúdo dos vídeos, uso das Tecnologias da Informação e Comunicação (TIC) pelos professores e formação continuada de professores de Educação Física. Dentre os principais resultados, os professores indicaram a importância de materiais didáticos digitais que possam contribuir com sua formação e atuação, reconheceram os benefícios do uso das tecnologias nesse processo bem como o uso de vídeos, importante ferramenta de auxílio à prática pedagógica dos professores na elaboração de aulas. Conclui-se que o material didático digital avaliado pode contribuir com o ensino do voleibol nas aulas de EFE especialmente como suporte aos professores na elaboração de aulas para esse conteúdo.

ABSTRACT HIV-infected patients are at high risk for developing critical diseases, including opportunistic infections (OI), with consequent admission in intensive care units (ICU). Renal disfunctions are risk factors for death in HIV/AIDS patients, and survival rates in patients undergoing hemodialysis are smaller than the ones observed in the general population. In this context, this study aimed to investigate death-related factors in HIV/AIDS patients in an intensive care setting. This is a retrospective cross-sectional study performed through the analysis of medical records from 271 HIV/AIDS-diagnosed patients hospitalized in an intensive care unit of an infectious disease hospital, in Fortaleza, Ceara State, Brazil. Patients were divided into two groups: those who underwent dialysis during hospitalization and those who did not. Clinical and demographic parameters that could be associated with death were evaluated. Results indicated a prevalence of death of 19.1% (CI 95%: 14.8-24.3). The median age of patients was 47 years, with a male predominance (71.3%). The main causes of admission were pulmonary tuberculosis (16.9%), followed by neurotoxoplasmosis (14.9%). In the bivariate analysis, for those that did not undergo dialysis, age, fever, dyspnea, oliguria, disorientation, kidney injury, use of lamivudine and efavirenz, length of hospitalization, CD4 count, WBC count, platelet count, urea, sodium and LDH levels were the associated variables. In those who needed dialysis, the use of stavudine, abacavir and ritonavir, and the length of hospitalization were associated factors. Renal toxicity by the antiretroviral agents and length of hospitalization increased the risk of death among HIV patients under dialysis.

ABSTRACT Objective: Follicular lesions of the thyroid with papillary carcinoma nuclear characteristics are classified as infiltrative follicular variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma-FVPTC (IFVPTC), encapsulated/well demarcated FVPTC with tumour capsular invasion (IEFVPTC), and the newly described category “non-invasive follicular thyroid neoplasm with papillary-like nuclear features” (NIFTP) formerly known as non-invasive encapsulated FVPTC. This study evaluated whether computerized image analysis can detect nuclear differences between these three tumour subtypes. Materials and methods: Slides with histological material from 15 cases of NIFTP and 33 cases of FVPTC subtypes (22 IEFVPTC, and 11 IFVPTC) were analyzed using the Image J image processing program. Tumour cells were compared for both nuclear morphometry and chromatin textural characteristics. Results: Nuclei from NIFTP and IFVPTC tumours differed in terms of chromatin textural features (grey intensity): mean (92.37 ± 21.01 vs 72.99 ± 14.73, p = 0.02), median (84.93 ± 21.17 vs 65.18 ± 17.08, p = 0.02), standard deviation (47.77 ± 9.55 vs 39.39 ± 7.18; p = 0.02), and coefficient of variation of standard deviation (19.96 ± 4.01 vs 24.75 ± 3.31; p = 0.003). No differences were found in relation to IEFVPTC. Conclusion: Computerized image analysis revealed differences in nuclear texture between NIFTP and IFVPTC, but not for IEFVPTC.

ABSTRACT Objective to reflect on the dimensions of the human being and nursing care in the pandemic context of Covid-19. Method this is a reflection study, in which the corporeal dimensions (Homo somaticus), human life (Homo vivens), knowing (Homo sapiens), will (Homo volens), language (Homo loquens), social (Homo socialis), work (Homo faber), play and fun (Homo ludens) and nursing care in the pandemic context of Covid-19. Results the dimensions are being influenced by the pandemic context of the new coronavirus, requiring humanizing nursing interventions, such as transpersonal clinical and therapeutic management, support for the sick physical body, guarantee of a language that enables self-care and psychological support, attitude of open listening, encouraging game practices to spend time and methods of relaxation, meditation and guided imagination, among others. The act of reflecting on the dimensions creates new possibilities for signaling points of intercession for the understanding of the new reality experienced by man. Conclusion and implications for practice when reflecting on the dimensions of man in the light of anthropology with the theoretical basis of the Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) Care Models, possibilities for holistic care are created in the context of the new coronavirus pandemic.

RESUMEN Objetivo reflexionar sobre las dimensiones del ser humano y la atención de enfermería en el contexto pandémico de Covid-19. Método este es un estudio reflexivo, en el que las dimensiones corporales (Homo somaticus), la vida humana (Homo vivens), el conocimiento (Homo sapiens), la voluntad (Homo volens), el lenguaje (Homo loquens), social (Homo socialis), trabajo (Homo faber), juego y diversión (Homo ludens) y cuidados de enfermería en el contexto pandémico de Covid-19. Resultados las dimensiones están siendo influenciadas por el contexto pandémico del nuevo coronavirus, que requiere intervenciones humanizadoras de enfermería, como el manejo clínico y terapéutico transpersonal, el apoyo al cuerpo físico enfermo, la garantía de un lenguaje que permita el autocuidado y el apoyo psicológico, la actitud de escucha abierta, fomentando prácticas de juego para pasar el tiempo y métodos de relajación, meditación e imaginación guiada, entre otros. El acto de reflexionar sobre las dimensiones crea nuevas posibilidades para señalar puntos de intercesión para comprender la nueva realidad experimentada por el hombre. Conclusión e implicaciones para la práctica reflexionar sobre las dimensiones del hombre a la luz de la antropología con la base teórica de los Modelos de Atención de la Clasificación de Intervenciones de Enfermería (NIC) genera posibilidades de atención integral en el contexto de la nueva pandemia de coronavirus.

RESUMO Objetivo refletir sobre as dimensões do ser humano e o cuidado de enfermagem no contexto pandêmico da Covid-19. Método trata-se de um estudo reflexivo, em que foram discutidas as dimensões corpórea (Homo somaticus), de vida humana (Homo vivens), conhecer (Homo sapiens), vontade (Homo volens), linguagem (Homo loquens), social (Homo socialis), do trabalho (Homo faber), jogo e divertimento (Homo ludens) e o cuidado de enfermagem no contexto pandêmico da Covid-19. Resultados as dimensões estão sendo influenciadas pelo contexto pandêmico do novo coronavírus, sendo necessárias intervenções de enfermagem humanizadoras como o manejo clínico e terapêutico transpessoal, suporte ao corpo físico em adoecimento, garantia de uma linguagem que possibilite o autocuidado e apoio psicológico, atitude de escuta aberta, incentivo às práticas de jogos para passar o tempo e métodos de relaxamento, meditação e imaginação guiada, entre outras. O ato de refletir sobre as dimensões cria novas possibilidades de sinalizar pontos de intercessão para a compreensão da nova realidade vivenciada pelo homem. Conclusão e implicações para a prática ao refletir sobre as dimensões do homem à luz da antropologia com o embasamento teórico dos Modelos de cuidados da Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC), geram-se possibilidades de estabelecer um cuidado holístico no contexto da pandemia pelo novo coronavírus.
