Resumo Introdução A avaliação da satisfação do usuário nos serviços de saúde mental é um importante indicador da qualidade do tratamento. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a satisfação com o tratamento em uma amostra de pacientes internados com transtornos mentais e as associações entre os níveis de satisfação e variáveis clínicas/sociodemográficas. Métodos Este estudo exploratório investigou 227 pacientes psiquiátricos internados que responderam a Escala de Satisfação do Paciente com os Serviços de Saúde Mental (SATIS-BR) e a Escala de Percepção da Mudança (EMP). Os escores SATIS-BR foram analisados segundo associações com dados clínicos e sociodemográficos. Correlações de Pearson foram usadas para correlacionar escores SATIS com outras variáveis. Resultados Encontramos alto grau de satisfação com o atendimento na unidade de internação psiquiátrica avaliada. Em geral, os pacientes atribuíram satisfação máxima para a maioria dos itens. Os maiores escores de satisfação foram associados a pacientes em tratamento pelo Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) e com menor escolaridade. A SATIS mostrou uma correlação positiva moderada com EMP. A pior dimensão avaliada foi associada às instalações físicas e conforto da enfermaria. Conclusão Pacientes com cobertura pelo SUS podem estar mais satisfeitos do que pacientes com planos privados de saúde quando tratados na mesma unidade. A avaliação da satisfação com o tratamento pode ser usada para reorganizar serviços em unidades de internação psiquiátrica.

Abstract Introduction User satisfaction assessment in mental health services is an important indicator of treatment quality. The objective of this study was to evaluate treatment satisfaction in a sample of inpatients with mental disorders and the associations between levels of satisfaction and clinical/sociodemographic variables. Methods This exploratory study investigated 227 psychiatric inpatients who answered the Patient Satisfaction with Mental Health Services Scale (SATIS-BR) and the Perception of Change Scale (EMP). SATIS scores were analyzed according to associations with clinical and sociodemographic data. Pearson correlations were used to correlate SATIS scores with other variables. Results We found a high degree of satisfaction with care at the psychiatric inpatient unit assessed. In general, patients rated maximum satisfaction for most items. The highest satisfaction scores were associated with patients receiving treatment through the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) and with less education. SATIS showed a moderate positive correlation with EMP. The worst evaluated dimension was physical facilities and comfort of the ward. Conclusion Patients treated via SUS may be more satisfied than patients with private health insurance when treated in the same facility. The evaluation of treatment satisfaction can be used to reorganize services at psychiatric inpatient units.

Resumo O levantamento florístico das trepadeiras foi realizado em um ecótono de Floresta Estacional Semidecidual (FES) e Cerradão (CER), no Parque Estadual de Porto Ferreira, Sudeste do Brasil. Realizamos coletas mensais dos espécimes reprodutivos ao longo de dois períodos, março 2010 a setembro 2011, abril e julho 2015. Os levantamentos foram realizados por meio do método de caminhada e os indivíduos amostrados foram classificados quanto ao hábito, mecanismo de ascensão e síndrome de dispersão. No geral, foram registradas 109 espécies, pertencentes a 67 gêneros e 29 famílias. Dentre essas, 49 espécies ocorrem nos dois tipos de vegetação, sendo que 29 e 31 espécies são exclusivas de FES e CER, respectivamente. Bignoniaceae e Malpighiaceae foram as famílias mais ricas com 17 espécies, seguidas por Sapindaceae (12 espécies), Asteraceae e Apocynaceae (8 espécies cada) e Fabaceae (6). A maioria das espécies de trepadeiras são lianas, volúveis e anemocóricas, correspondendo a 70%, 47% e 66% de toda a amostra, respectivamente. Neste trabalho, acrescentamos uma nova família e 14 espécies para a lista de trepadeiras do Cerrado paulista e 10 espécies para a lista brasileira de trepadeiras em Floresta Estacional Semidecidual. Portanto, contribuímos para o conhecimento da diversidade de trepadeiras em tipos vegetacionais pouco estudados para este grupo de planta, destacando o Cerradão, no qual encontramos novos registros para um grande número de espécies.

Abstract A floristic survey of climbing plants was carried out in an ecotone area of seasonal semideciduous forest (SSF) and forested savanna (CER), in Porto Ferreira State Park (PFSP), Southeastern Brazil. We sampled the reproductive specimens every month during two periods, March 2010 to September 2011 and April and July 2015. The surveys were performed by the walking method, and the sampled individuals were classified by habit, climbing mechanism and dispersal mode. Overall, 109 species, belonging to 67 genera and 29 families, were recorded; 49 species occurred in both, 29 and 31 were exclusive to SSF and CER, respectively. Bignoniaceae and Malpighiaceae were the richest families, with 17 species, followed by Sapindaceae (12 species), Asteraceae and Apocynaceae (8 species each) and Fabaceae (6). The majority of climbers were lianas, twining and anemochoric species, corresponding to 70%, 47% and 66% of all samples, respectively. In this work, we added one new family and 14 species to the Cerrado’s list of climbing plants from São Paulo state, and 10 species to the Brazilian seasonal semideciduous forest’s list. Therefore, we contributed to the understanding of diversity of climbing plants in vegetation types poorly studied for this plant group, mainly in the Cerradão, wherein we found new records for several species.

Background General Hospital Psychiatric Units have a fundamental importance in the mental health care systems. However, there is a lack of studies regarding the level of improvement of patients in this type of facility. Objective To assess factors related to good and poor outcomes in psychiatric inpatients using an index composed by clinical parameters easily measured. Methods Length of stay (LOS), Global Assessment of Functioning (variation and at discharge) and Clinical Global Impression (severity and improvement) were used to build a ten-point improvement index (I-Index). Records of psychiatric inpatients of a general hospital during an 18-month period were analyzed. Three groups (poor, intermediate and good outcomes) were compared by univariate and multivariate models according to clinical and sociodemographic variables. Results Two hundred and fifty patients were included, with a percentage in the groups with poor, regular and good outcomes of 16.4%, 59,6% and 24.0% respectively. Poor outcome at the discharge was associated mainly with lower education, transient disability, antipsychotics use, chief complaint “behavioral change/aggressiveness” and psychotic features. Multivariate analysis found a higher OR for diagnoses of “psychotic disorders” and “personality disorders” and others variables in relation to protective categories in the poor outcome group compared to the good outcome group. Discussion Our I-Index proved to be an indicator of that allows an easy and more comprehensive evaluation to assess outcomes of inpatients than just LOS. Different interventions addressed to conditions such as psychotic disorders and disruptive chief complaints are necessary.

O preparo convencional do solo utilizado na implantação de pomares cítricos com base na remoção da cobertura vegetal e no revolvimento do solo em área total, assim como o manejo de pomares com eliminação da cobertura vegetal das entrelinhas, têm causado erosão e redução da fertilidade dos solos, com reflexos negativos sobre as plantas cítricas e o ambiente. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar sistemas de manejo que contribuam para controle da erosão e melhoria da fertilidade de Argissolos originados do arenito Caiuá, cultivados com citros no noroeste do Paraná. Foram avaliados dois sistemas de preparo do solo: convencional (PC), em área total, e preparo em faixas (PF), de 2 m de largura, com diferentes formas de manejo nas entrelinhas. O estudo foi realizado em um pomar de laranja 'Pêra' (Citrus sinensis) enxertada em limoeiro 'Cravo' (Citrus limonia), em um Argissolo Vermelho distrófico latossólico. O experimento foi implantado em área ocupada por pastagem (Brachiaria humidicola), em agosto de 1993, no espaçamento de 7 x 4 m, em delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com três repetições e seis tratamentos, sendo: (1) PC e cultivo intercalar com abacaxi, sucedido por controle da vegetação espontânea com herbicida pós-emergente; (2) PC e cobertura vegetal com a leguminosa Calopogonium mucronoides; (3) PC e cobertura vegetal com a leguminosa perene amendoim forrageiro Arachis pintoi; (4) PC e cobertura vegetal com gramínea mato-grosso ou batatais Paspalum notatum; (5) PC e cobertura com vegetação espontânea da gramínea Brachiaria humidicola; e (6) PF e manutenção da gramínea (pastagem) remanescente (Brachiaria humidicola). De 1996 a 2005, foram avaliadas a composição química do solo e das folhas e a produção de frutos. No solo, foram observados incrementos significativos no teor de C orgânico (CO) nos tratamentos 4 e 6, em relação aos tratamentos 1 e 3. Não houve diferenças significativas entre os tratamentos para produção acumulada de frutos nas safras de 1996 a 2005. O preparo de solo em faixas, com manutenção de gramínea remanescente nas entrelinhas, mostrou-se apropriado para implantação dos pomares. As plantas de cobertura permanente utilizadas nas entrelinhas do pomar não comprometeram a produção de laranja, sendo importantes para melhoria da fertilidade do solo. As gramíneas foram mais indicadas que as leguminosas como cobertura vegetal nas entrelinhas do pomar.

The conventional soil tillage used in the implantation of citrus orchards is based on the removal of the plant residues and soil tilling in the entire area, and the management of orchards on the elimination of any plant residues from the interrows. This has led to erosion and reduced soil fertility, with negative effects on the trees and the environment. The objective of this study was to evaluate soil management systems that decrease soil erosion and improve the fertility status of a Typic Paleudults originated from Caiuá sandstone, cultivated with citrus in the northwestern state of Paraná, Brazil. Two soil tillage systems were evaluated: conventional tillage (CT) in the entire area, and strip-tillage (ST) with 2 m width, with different interrow management systems. The citrus cultivar was Pêra orange (Citrus sinensis) grafted onto 'Rangpur' lime (Citrus limonia) rootstock. The citrus orchard was established in August 1993, and the tree rows were spaced 7 m apart with 4 m between trees. The experiment was set up in a randomized block design with three replications and six treatments: (1) CT and pineapple intercropping in the first year followed by weed control with post emergence herbicide; (2) CT and annual cover crop with the leguminous crop Calopogonium mucronoides; (3) CT and perennial cover crop with the leguminous peanut Arachis pintoi; (4) CT and evergreen cover crop with Bahiagrass Paspalum notatum; (5) CT and cover crop with spontaneous Brachiaria humidicola grass vegetation and (6) ST and maintenance of the remaining grass (pasture) of Brachiaria humidicola. From 1993 to 2005, the soil and leaf chemical composition and fruit yields were evaluated. Soil analyses showed a significant increment in organic carbon content in the treatments 4 and 6 compared to the treatments 1 and 3. There were no significant differences among the treatments for the accumulated fruit yields from 1996 to 2005. The soil tillage in strips with grass remaining in the interrows was considered appropriate for the citrus orchard establishment. The grass species were more suitable than the leguminous plants for the improvement of soil fertility.

A diversidade genética de vírus pertencentes ao gênero Begomovirus em tomateiro (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) foi analisada em regiões produtoras do Centro-Oeste paulista. No período de janeiro de 2003 a fevereiro de 2004, cento e sessenta e seis amostras de tomate foram coletadas e a presença de begomovírus observada em 60% das amostras, por PCR, utilizando-se oligonucleotídeos universais para o gênero Begomovirus. O sequenciamento direto do produto de PCR de 16 dessas amostras indicou a possível presença do Tomato severe rugose virus (ToSRV), Sida mottle virus (SiMoV-[BR]) e da espécie tentativa Tomato yellow vein streak virus (ToYVSV-[BR]). Em duas amostras foi detectada uma possível nova espécie de begomovírus. A presença do ToSRV e do SiMoV ainda não havia sido verificada em tomateiro no estado de São Paulo. Estes resultados indicam a existência de diversidade de espécies de begomovírus infectando o tomateiro nesta região, servindo como um alerta para melhoristas que trabalham na busca de fontes de resistência a esse importante grupo de patógenos.

The genetic variability of viruses belonging to the Begomovirus genus infecting tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill) on field areas from the mid-western region of São Paulo state was evaluated. From January 2003 to February 2004, one hundred and sixty-six tomato samples were collected and the presence of begomoviruses detected on 60% of the samples by PCR, using universal primers for the genus. Direct sequencing of PCR products of 16 selected samples indicated the possible presence of Tomato severe rugose virus (ToSRV), Sida mottle virus (SiMoV-[BR]) and the tentative species Tomato yellow vein streak virus (ToYVSV-[BR]). A possible new species of begomovirus was detected in two samples. The presence of ToSRV and SiMoV had not yet been reported in São Paulo state. These results indicate the existence of genetic diversity of begomovirus species infecting tomatoes in this area, and serve as an alert for breeders searching for resistance against this important group of pathogens.
