Abstract This study describes the hydrography and water masses of the Santos Basin Continental Shelf (SBCS) during two hydrographic campaigns (SANAGU, SANSED) in 2019. Coastal Water (CW) is the dominant water mass in the southern portion of the SBCS, with relatively low salinity values (S<35.5 g kg–1), and satellite data show that local precipitation and river discharge could not account for the low salinity observed during the cruises in the southern region of the domain. The low salinity observed is explained by the transport from the south influenced by Subtropical Shelf Water (STSW), which was influenced by the La Plata River discharge. In the northern region of the SBCS, the South Atlantic Central Water (SACW) dominates the bottom layers of the water column, with the wind playing a major role in the uplift of this water mass, as evidenced by a wind impulse analysis. In this part of the shelf, Tropical Water (TW) was the second water mass in volume and occupied the surface layers and offshore the shelf. CW is restricted to a thin surface layer, which reaches distances of a few kilometers from the coast. Our analysis show the differences in the hydrographic structure of the SBCS and suggests that the SBCS can be divided in two regions with distinct characteristics: 1) the area southwest of São Sebastião, where the hydrographic parameters were modulated by the presence of the Subtropical Shelf Water (STSW); 2) the area northeast of São Sebastião, where the uplifting of SACW was the dominant process.

Resumo O objetivo deste trabalho foi identificar os parasitas intestinais de felinos silvestres mortos em estradas nas regiões Norte Central e Norte, Paraná, sul do Brasil. Os animais foram monitorados por amostragem de transectos previamente estabelecidos. Os locais de atropelamento foram mapeados, os animais foram identificados e enviados para autópsias, durante as quais amostras de fezes foram coletadas e submetidas a técnicas coproparasitológicas de sedimentação espontânea, flutuação em solução hipersaturada de NaCl e flutuação por centrífugação em sulfato de zinco e fotografadas, quando estruturas parasitárias estavam presentes. Nas análises coproparasitológicas, foram identificados oocistos de Cystoisospora spp., ovos de Ancylostomatidae e Capillaria spp, Aelurostrongylus spp., Toxocara spp., Physaloptera spp., Taenia spp. e Spirometra spp.; larvas de Aelurostrongylus abstrusus; e ovos e adultos de Ancylostoma cati e Taenia spp. Um dos felídeos estava parasitado por Ctenocephalides felis felis. Com base nesses resultados, os animais analisados neste estudo forneceram amostras importantes para a avaliação da diversidade parasitária do Norte do Paraná e sugeriram que esta região pode apresentar condições que possibilitem a manutenção dos ciclos de vida desses parasitas no ambiente e entre a vida silvestre.

Abstract This study aimed to identify the intestinal parasites of road-killed wild felines in the North Central and North, Paraná state, southern Brazil. The animals were monitored by sampling previously established transects. The places where the felines were run over were mapped, the animals were identified, and the gastrointestinal tract was evaluated. The feces were submitted to coproparasitological techniques of spontaneous sedimentation, floating in hypersaturated NaCl solution and centrifugal floating in zinc sulfate. All the parasitic structures detected were photomicrographed. In the coproparasitological analyses were identified oocysts of Cystoisospora spp., eggs of Ancylostomatidae, and Capillaria spp.; eggs of Aelurostrongylus spp., Toxocara spp., Physaloptera spp., Taenia spp., and Spirometra spp.; Aelurostrongylus abstrusus larvae; and eggs and adults of Ancylostoma cati and Taenia spp. One of the cats was parasitized by a flea of Ctenocephalides felis felis. Based on these results, the animals analyzed in this study supplied important samples for the evaluation of parasitic diversity of North of Paraná and suggested that this region may have conditions that allow the maintenance of these parasites life cycles in the environment and among wildlife.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar conteúdos temáticos acerca da covid-19 para o desenvolvimento de um aplicativo móvel para a população, na perspectiva dos profissionais de saúde. Método: pesquisa qualitativa, desenvolvida no estado do Rio de Janeiro, entre agosto e outubro de 2020, por meio de formulário eletrônico com profissionais de saúde, cujos dados foram processados no software IRAMUTEQ pelos métodos: Classificação Hierárquica Descendente, Análise Fatorial de Correspondência e Análise de Similitude. Resultados: os conteúdos temáticos identificados para o desenvolvimento do aplicativo móvel foram: medidas protetivas e comportamentais, informações precisas e confiável dos fatos que circundam a covid-19, contágio, transmissão, além de informações sobre locais de atendimento para a população. Conclusão: conclui-se que a disponibilização desses conteúdos em um aplicativo móvel é mais do que um facilitador para os enfermeiros; ele se apresenta como um componente crítico para transformar a prática e a educação da enfermagem.

ABSTRACT Objective: to analyze thematic content about covid-19 for the development of a mobile application for the population, from the perspective of health professionals. Method: qualitative research, developed in the state of Rio de Janeiro, between August and October 2020, through an electronic form with health professionals, whose data were processed in IRAMUTEQ software by the methods: Descending Hierarchical Classification, Correspondence Factor Analysis and Similarity Analysis. Results: the thematic contents identified for the development of the mobile application were protective and behavioral measures, accurate and reliable information on the facts surrounding covid-19, contagion, transmission, as well as information on care locations for the population. Conclusion: it is concluded that the availability of these contents in a mobile app is more than a facilitator for nurses; it presents itself as a critical component to transform nursing practice and education.

RESUMEN Objetivo: analizar los contenidos temáticos sobre el covid-19 para el desarrollo de una aplicación móvil para la población, desde la perspectiva de los profesionales de la salud. Método: investigación cualitativa, desarrollada en el estado de Río de Janeiro, entre agosto y octubre de 2020, a través de un formulario electrónico con profesionales de la salud, cuyos datos fueron procesados en el software IRAMUTEQ por los métodos: Clasificación Jerárquica Descendente, Análisis Factorial de Correspondencia y Análisis de Similitud. Resultados: los contenidos temáticos identificados para el desarrollo de la aplicación móvil fueron: medidas de protección y comportamiento, información precisa y fiable de los hechos que rodean al covid-19, el contagio, la transmisión, además de información sobre los lugares de atención a la población. Conclusión: se concluye que la disponibilidad de estos contenidos en una aplicación móvil es más que un facilitador para las enfermeras; se presenta como un componente crítico para transformar la práctica y la educación de la enfermería.

Resumo O objetivo desse estudo foi avaliar a ocorrência de anticorpos anti-Toxoplasma gondii e anti-Neospora caninum e seus fatores associados em caprinos de propriedades do Estado do Paraná, Sul do Brasil. A análise sorológica foi realizada, utilizando-se ELISA indireto em 629 amostras de soro caprino, coletadas em 32 propriedades distribuídas em cinco mesorregiões do Estado. A soropositividade foi observada em 30,7% dos animais para T. gondii, 6,3% para N. caninum e 3,0% para ambos. Os modelos finais de regressão múltipla mostraram que o uso de reprodução assistida reduziu a chance de soropositividade para T. gondii (PR=0,70), enquanto a presença no local de abate na fazenda (PR=2,03) aumentou. Para N. caninum, o fornecimento de ração concentrada (OR=4,80) e a morte dos animais no pré-desmame (OR=9,96) aumentaram a chance de soropositividade. O estudo das variáveis associadas às soropositividades sugere deficiências no saneamento e no manejo reprodutivo dos Animais. Além disso, reconhece pontos críticos para a infecção no manejo da produção animal.

Abstract The aim of this study was to determine the occurrence of anti-Toxoplasma gondii and anti-Neospora caninum antibodies and their associated factors among goats in farms from the Paraná state, South Brazil. The serological analysis was performed by indirect ELISA on 629 goat serum samples collected from 32 farms distributed in five mesorregions from the state. Seropositivity was observed in 30.7% of the animals for T. gondii, 6.3% for N. caninum, and 3.0% for both agents. Final multiple regression models showed that the use of assisted reproduction decreased the chance of seropositivity for T. gondii (PR=0.70) and the slaughtering site on the farm (PR=2.03) increased it. To N. caninum, the supplying concentrated feed to animals (OR=4.80) and animal pre-weaning death (OR=9.96) increased the chance of seropositivity. The variables associated with these seropositivities suggest deficiencies in sanitation and reproductive management. In addition, it recognizes critical points of infection for animal production management.

INTRODUÇÃO: A abreviação do jejum perioperatório em pacientes candidatos à operações eletivas associa-se com menor tempo de internação hospitalar e diminuição de complicações pós-operatórias. OBJETIVO: Conduzir uma revisão sistemática a partir de ensaios clínicos randomizados controlados para detectar se a abreviação do jejum traz benefícios para indivíduos submetidos à cirurgia oncológica comparativamente aos protocolos de jejum tradicionais. MÉTODO: A busca na literatura foi realizada nas bases de dados eletrônicas: MEDLINE (Pubmed), Scielo, EMBASE e Cochrane, sem restrição de período. Utilizaram-se os descritores: "preoperative fasting", "cancer", "diet restriction" e "perioperative period". Foram incluídos ensaios clínicos randomizados, em indivíduos adultos, de ambos os sexos, com diagnóstico de câncer. Consideraram-se critérios de exclusão: uso de nutrição parenteral e publicações em duplicata. Todas as análises, seleções e extração dos dados foram feitas de maneira cega por avaliadores de forma independente. RESULTADOS: Foram incluídos quatro artigos, com total de 150 pacientes, sendo 128 com câncer colorretal e 22 câncer gástrico. Os artigos foram publicados no período de 2006 a 2013. Os desfechos principais foram heterogênios, o que impediu a unificação dos resultados por meio de metanálise. Comparativamente aos protocolos tradicionais, os indivíduos submetidos à abreviação do jejum com a administração de líquidos contendo carboidratos tiveram melhora nos parâmetros glicêmicos (glicemia de jejum e resistência a insulina), inflamatórios (interleucina 6 e 10) e nos marcadores de desnutrição (força do aperto de mão e razão PCR/albumina), assim como menor tempo de internação. A qualidade metodológica dos artigos avaliados, porém, sugere que os resultados sejam interpretados com cautela. CONCLUSÃO: A abreviação do jejum perioperatório em pacientes com neoplasias parece ser benéfica.

INTRODUCTION: The abbreviation of perioperative fasting among candidates to elective surgery have been associated with shorter hospital stay and decreased postoperative complications. OBJECTIVE: To conduct a systematic review from randomized controlled trials to detect whether the abbreviation of fasting is beneficial to patients undergoing cancer surgery compared to traditional fasting protocols. METHOD: A literature search was performed in electronic databases: MEDLINE (PubMed), SciELO, EMBASE and Cochrane, without time restriction. Were used the descriptors: "preoperative fasting", "cancer", "diet restriction" and "perioperative period". Randomized trials were included in adults of both sexes, with diagnosis of cancer. Exclusion criteria were: use of parenteral nutrition and publications in duplicate. All analyzes, selections and data extraction were done blinded manner by independent evaluators. RESULTS: Four studies were included, with a total of 150 patients, 128 with colorectal cancer and 22 gastric cancer. The articles were published from 2006 to 2013. The main outcome measures were heterogeneous, which impaired the unification of the results by means of meta-analysis. Compared to traditional protocols, patients undergoing fasting abbreviation with the administration of fluids containing carbohydrates had improvements in glycemic parameters (fasting glucose and insulin resistance), inflammatory markers (interleukin 6 and 10) and indicators of malnutrition (grip strength hand and CRP/albumin ratio), and shorter hospital stay. The methodological quality of the reviewed articles, however, suggests that the results should be interpreted with caution. CONCLUSION: The abbreviation of perioperative fasting in patients with neoplasm appears to be beneficial.
