RESUMO Introdução A violência no local de trabalho tornou-se uma preocupação mundial. Trabalhar em instituições de saúde envolve situações de elevado risco, proporcionando um ambiente favorável à mesma. A vigilância da saúde dos trabalhadores e a gestão do risco profissional é da responsabilidade dos Serviços de Segurança e Saúde no Trabalho, que devem ter como objetivo a minimização dos perigos e prevenção destes acontecimentos, com vista ao bem-estar físico e psicológico dos trabalhadores. Objetivos Caracterização dos acidentes de trabalho resultantes de agressões físicas a Profissionais de Saúde, de uma Unidade Local de Saúde, decorridos entre 2018 e 2022. Métodos Estudo retrospetivo dos sinistros de trabalho gerais e por violência física entre de 2018 a dezembro de 2022, sendo os dados obtidos através do software utilizado no Serviço de Saúde Ocupacional, UTILsst ®. Resultados Registaram-se 572 acidentes de trabalho em geral, sendo que 85% era mulheres, com uma média de idades de 47 anos, maioritariamente Enfermeiros (42%) e um total de 11.540 dias de trabalho perdidos. Relativamente aos eventos por violência física, registaram-se 20 sinistros, num total de 14 profissionais, com uma média de idades de 42 anos e 75% dos acidentes ocorreram no serviço de Psiquiatria. A maioria (55%) ocorreu em Assistentes Operacionais, seguindo-se os Enfermeiros (40%). Dentro do serviço de Psiquiatria, 60% das agressões ocorreram em Assistentes Operacionais, maioritariamente do sexo masculino. Houve uma tendência crescente no número de eventos ao longo do tempo e um total de 229 dias de trabalho perdidos, 221 destes dias no serviço de Psiquiatria. Discussão e Conclusão A violência constitui um problema de saúde pública, de elevada importância nas instituições de saúde. Do estudo realizado, o serviço de Psiquiatria foi o mais afetado, justificado pela tipologia do utente, o que demonstra a necessidade de criar e implementar medidas preventivas neste serviço. Os Assistentes Operacionais e os Enfermeiros são os mais afetados pois são aqueles que prestam cuidados mais diretos. A tendência de casos ao longo do tempo foi crescente, justificado pelo aumento de casos de violência, maior sensibilização à notificação e pela degradação da saúde mental durante e pós pandemia COVID-19. Apesar dos desenvolvimentos no combate à violência, ela continua a existir, principalmente contexto de prestação de cuidados de saúde. Trata-se de um problema que interessa, afeta e é da responsabilidade de todos para alcançar ambientes livres de violência.

ABSTRACT Introduction Workplace violence has become a global concern. Working in health institutions involves high-risk situations, providing an environment favorable to agressions. Monitoring the health of workers and managing professional risk is the responsibility of the Occupational Safety, Hygiene and Health Services, which must aim to minimize risks and prevent these events, taking in mind the physical and psychological well-being of employees. Aims Characterization of work accidents resulting from physical attacks on Health Professionals, at a Local Health Unit, between 2018 and 2022. Methods Retrospective study of general work accidents and physical violence between 2018 and December 2022, with data obtained through the software used in the Occupational Health Service, UTILsst ®. Results There were 572 accidents at work in general, of which 85% were women, with an average age of 47 years, mostly nurses (42%) and a total of 11.540 working days lost. Regarding workplace accidents due to physical violence, 20 accidents were recorded, involving a total of 14 professionals, with an average age of 42 years old and 75% of the accidents occurred in the Psychiatry service. The majority of accidents (55%) occurred among Operational Assistants, followed by Nurses (40%). Within the Psychiatry service, 60% of attacks occurred against Operational Assistants, the majority of whom were male. There was an increasing trend in the number of accidents over time and a total of 229 working days lost, 221 of these days in the Psychiatry service. Discussion and Conclusion Violence is a public health problem, of high importance in health institutions. From the study carried out, the Psychiatry service was the most affected, which is largely justified by the type of patient, and demonstrates the need to create and implement preventive measures in this service. Operational Assistants and Nurses are the most affected as they are those who provide the most direct care. The trend of cases over time increased, justified by the increase in cases of violence, greater awareness of notification and the degradation of mental health during and after the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the developments in the fight against violence, it continues to exist, especially in the context of healthcare provision. This is a problem that interests, affects and is everyone's responsibility in order to achieve environments free of violence.

Resumo Introdução: A disseção aórtica aguda tipo B (DAAB) é uma síndrome aórtica aguda que apresenta elevada taxa de mortalidade. Atualmente, na fase aguda, preconiza-se o tratamento médico nos casos de DAAB não complicada, ficando a cirurgia reservada para os casos de DAAB complicada (rutura, síndrome de malperfusão, dor/hipertensão refratária, expansão rápida ou progressão proximal/distal). A cirurgia endovascular, por apresentar taxas de morbi-mortalidade francamente inferiores à cirurgia aberta, está recomendada sempre que possível. Caso clínico: Apresentamos um caso de DAAB complicada de falso aneurisma, rotura e malperfusão visceral, submetida de urgência a tratamento endovascular (TEVAR + PETTICOAT) e drenagem torácica. O pós-operatório foi complicado de AVC isquémico do hemisfério direito, com recuperação quase completa dos défices durante o internamento. A angio-TC de controlo, aos 2 meses, mostrou exclusão do falso aneurisma, expansão do verdadeiro lúmen (com adequada perfusão das artérias viscerais) e trombose parcial do falso lúmen (exceto em focos de preenchimento retrógrado à custa de artérias lombares e intercostais).

RESUMO: O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar a composição fenólica da polpa de Jussara dos Estados brasileiros de Minas Gerais (MG) e Espírito Santo (ES) usando HPLC-DAD-MS / MS. Dezessete antocianinas foram detectadas, dentre elas, derivadas de cianidina, pelargonidina e peonidina. Dentre os compostos fenólicos não antociânicos, foram identificados flavonóis (derivados de caempferol, quercetina e isorhamnetina), flavan-3-ols (catequina, epicatequina, procianidinas do tipo B e dímeros desconhecidos) e resveratrol em sua forma glicosilada. Catequina (32,41-60,56 mg 100g-1) e epicatequina (18,86-40,92 mg 100g-1) foram os principais flavan-3-óis presentes nas frutas. As amostras apresentaram pequenas concentrações de glicosídeos resveratrol (0,02-0,91 mg 100g-1). A metodologia analítica utilizada (HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS / MS) permitiu a identificação de novos compostos relatados presentes na composição da polpa de Jussara.

ABSTRACT: This research assessed the phenolic composition of Jussara pulp from the Brazilian states of Minas Gerais (MG) and Espírito Santo (ES) using HPLC-DAD-MS/MS. Seventeen anthocyanins were detected in fruits, derived from cyanidin, pelargonidin and peonidin. Among the non-anthocyanic phenolic compounds, flavonols (kaempferol, quercetin and isorhamnetin derivatives), flavan-3-ols (catechin, epicatechin, B-type procyanidins and unknown dimers) and resveratrol in its glycosylated form have been identified. Catechin (32.41-60.56 mg 100g-1) and epicatechin (18.86-40.92 mg 100g-1) were the main flavan-3-ols present in the fruits. The samples showed small concentrations of resveratrol glycosides (0.02-0.91 mg 100g-1). The analytical methodology used (HPLC-DAD-ESI-MS/MS) permitted the identification of newly reported compounds in this fruit.

Abstract The pathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is complex. Few studies in Brazilian population have addressed cell phenotypes associated with immunological responses and their associations with SLE activity. The aim of this study is to investigate cell phenotypes associated to SLE diagnosis, treatment and activity. Twenty-eight SLE female patients (17 inactive, 11 active) and 10 healthy women were included in this study. Markers of natural killer (Nk), T and B cells in peripheral blood were evaluated by flow cytometry. Nkt cells were decreased only in SLE active patients. Activated CD4+, regulatory T FoxP3+ and B cells were decreased in both active and inactive SLE patients, compared to control group. The data corroborate the disruption of immune regulatory response in SLE patients and suggest phenotipic changes as possible biomarkers of SLE activity.

Abstract Background Pharmacoinvasive strategy is an alternative when primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is not feasible. Objectives This study aimed to evaluate the effects of early pharmacoinvasive strategy on the infarct size and left ventricular ejection fraction in elderly and non-elderly patients. The role of inflammatory markers was also examined. Methods Patients (n=223) with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) were prospectively included and submitted to pharmacological thrombolysis in the first six hours, and underwent coronary angiogram and PCI when necessary, in the first 24 hours. Blood samples were collected in the first day (D1) and after 30 days (D30). Cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (cMRI) was performed at D30. Significance was set at p<0.05. Results Elderly and non-elderly patients showed similar percentage of infarcted mass (13.7 [6.9-17.0] vs. 14.0 [7.3-26.0], respectively, p=0.13) (median [interquartile range]). However, elderly patients had better left ventricular ejection fraction (53 [45-62] vs. 49 [39-58], p=0.025). Titers of interleukin (IL)1beta, IL-4, IL-6, and IL-10 did not differ between D1 and D30, but elderly patients had higher titers for IL-18 at D1 and D30. Absolute numbers of B and T lymphocytes were similar in both groups at D1 and D30, but elderly patients had higher neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio at D30. Multivariate linear regression analysis of cMRI outcomes in the whole population showed that the independent predictors were not different between elderly and non-elderly patients. Conclusion Pharmacoinvasive strategy in elderly patients was associated with small differences in inflammatory parameters, similar infarct size and better left ventricular function than non-elderly patients.

Resumo Fundamento A estratégia farmacoinvasiva é uma alternativa na inviabilidade da intervenção coronária percutânea primária (ICP). Objetivos Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar os efeitos da estratégia farmacoinvasiva precoce sobre o tamanho da área infartada e a fração de ejeção ventricular esquerda em pacientes idosos e não idosos. O papel dos marcadores inflamatórios também foi avaliado. Métodos Pacientes (n=223) com infarto do miocárdio com elevação do segmento ST (IAMCSST) foram prospectivamente incluídos e submetidos à trombólise medicamentosa nas primeiras seis horas, e à angiografia coronariana e à ICP, quando necessária, nas primeiras 24 horas. As amostras de sangue foram coletadas no primeiro dia (D1) e 30 dias após (D30). A ressonância magnética cardíaca foi realizada no D30. O nível de significância estatística foi estabelecido em p<0,05. Resultados Pacientes idosos e não idosos apresentaram porcentagem similares de massa infartada [13,7 (6,9-17,0) vs. 14,0 (7,3-26,0), respectivamente p=0,13)] [mediana (intervalo interquartil)]. No entanto, os pacientes idosos apresentaram maior fração de ejeção ventricular esquerda [53 (45-62) vs. 49 (39-58), p=0,025)]. As concentrações de interleucina (IL)1beta, IL-4, IL-6, e IL-10 não foram diferentes entre D1 e D30, mas pacientes idosos apresentaram níveis mais elevados de IL-18 em D1 e D30. O número absoluto de linfócitos B e T foram similares em ambos os grupos em D1 e D30, porém, pacientes idosos apresentaram uma razão neutrófilo-linfócito mais alta em D30. A análise de regressão linear multivariada dos desfechos de RMC de toda a população do estudo mostrou que os preditores independentes não foram diferentes entre pacientes idosos e não idosos. Conclusão A estratégia farmacoinvasiva em pacientes idosos foi associada a pequenas diferenças nos parâmetros inflamatórios, tamanho do infarto similar, e melhor função ventricular esquerda em comparação a pacientes não idosos

Abstract Diagnosis is crucial for controlling giardiasis. We determined the prevalence and genetically characterize isolates of Giardia duodenalis of children and dogs from rural communities in northeastern Brazil. G. duodenalis cysts were concentrated by centrifugal flotation/sedimentation. Molecular characterization was carried out using the loci ssu-rRNA, bg, tpi, and gdh. By parasitological techniques, Giardia spp. infection was detected in 72/192 children (37.5%; 95% CI: 30.6%-44.7%) and 24/139 dogs (17.3%; 95% CI: 11.4%-24.6%). By molecular analysis, infection was detected in 60/141 children (42.5%; 95% CI: 34.3%-51.2%) and 26/92 dogs (28.3%; 95% CI: 19.4%-38.6%). The total prevalence of giardiasis was 54.9% in children (106/193; 95% CI: 47.1%-61.6%) and 32.9% in dogs (47/143; 95% CI: 25.2%-41.2%). Zoonotic assemblages A and B of G. duodenalis were detected in children, and assemblage E of G. duodenalis was detected in one child and two dogs. Parallel use of parasitological and molecular techniques proved to be a more effective strategy for detecting giardiasis in children and dogs from endemic areas.

Resumo O diagnóstico é crucial para o controle da giardíase. Foram determinadas as prevalências e as características genéticas isoladas de Giardia duodenalis, em crianças e cães de comunidades rurais do nordeste brasileiro. Os cistos de G. duodenalis foram concentrados por centrífugo-flutuação/sedimentação. A caracterização molecular foi realizada utilizando-se os loci ssu-rRNA, bg, tpi e gdh. Pelas técnicas parasitológicas, a infecção por Giardia spp. foi detectada em 72/192 crianças (37,5%; IC 95%: 30,6%-44,7%) e 24/139 cães (17,3%; IC 95%: 11,4%-24,6%). Molecularmente, a infecção foi detectada em 60/141 crianças (42,5%; IC 95%: 34,3%-51,2%) e 26/92 cães (28,3%; IC 95%: 19,4%-38,6%). A prevalência total de giardíase foi de 54,9% em crianças (106/193; IC 95%: 47,1%-61,6%) e 32,9% em cães (47/143; IC 95%: 25,2%-41,2%). Os assemblages zoonóticos A e B de G. duodenalis foram detectados em crianças, e o assemblage E de G. duodenalis foi detectado nas duas populações. O uso paralelo de técnicas parasitológicas e moleculares mostra-se uma estratégia mais eficaz para detecção de giardíase em crianças e cães de áreas endêmicas.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to determine the efficacy of a finishing diet added with sugar beet pulp to reduce backfat skatole of entire male pigs, using the optimised high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) method. The study comprised 72 males Pietrain (Large White × Landrace), divided into two groups of 36 animals each. Pigs in group A (treatment) were fed a supplemented formula (addition of 10 % beet pulp). while animals in group B (control) received a commercial feed, both for a period of 14 days before slaughter. The isocratic HPLC method achieved the chromatographic separation of indolic compounds in approximately 3 min. Skatole was significantly lower ( p = 0.002) in group A, showing that beet root supplementation reduced skatole levels in pig fat. In addition, the optimised HPLC method was reliable, less time-consuming, and showed a resolution suitable for small amounts of skatole.

ABSTRACT Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that results in dysfunction of the CF transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein, which is a chloride and bicarbonate channel expressed in the apical portion of epithelial cells of various organs. Dysfunction of that protein results in diverse clinical manifestations, primarily involving the respiratory and gastrointestinal systems, impairing quality of life and reducing life expectancy. Although CF is still an incurable pathology, the therapeutic and prognostic perspectives are now totally different and much more favorable. The purpose of these guidelines is to define evidence-based recommendations regarding the use of pharmacological agents in the treatment of the pulmonary symptoms of CF in Brazil. Questions in the Patients of interest, Intervention to be studied, Comparison of interventions, and Outcome of interest (PICO) format were employed to address aspects related to the use of modulators of this protein (ivacaftor, lumacaftor+ivacaftor, and tezacaftor+ivacaftor), use of dornase alfa, eradication therapy and chronic suppression of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and eradication of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Burkholderia cepacia complex. To formulate the PICO questions, a group of Brazilian specialists was assembled and a systematic review was carried out on the themes, with meta-analysis when applicable. The results obtained were analyzed in terms of the strength of the evidence compiled, the recommendations being devised by employing the GRADE approach. We believe that these guidelines represent a major advance to be incorporated into the approach to patients with CF, mainly aiming to favor the management of the disease, and could become an auxiliary tool in the definition of public policies related to CF.

RESUMO A fibrose cística (FC) é uma doença genética que resulta em disfunção da proteína reguladora de condutância transmembrana da FC (CFTR), que é um canal de cloro e bicarbonato expresso na porção apical de células epiteliais de diversos órgãos. A disfunção dessa proteína resulta em manifestações clínicas diversas, envolvendo primariamente os sistemas respiratório e gastrointestinal com redução da qualidade e expectativa de vida. A FC ainda é uma patologia incurável, porém o horizonte terapêutico e prognóstico é hoje totalmente distinto e muito mais favorável. O objetivo destas diretrizes foi definir recomendações brasileiras baseadas em evidências em relação ao emprego de agentes farmacológicos no tratamento pulmonar da FC. As perguntas PICO (acrônimo baseado em perguntas referentes aos Pacientes de interesse, Intervenção a ser estudada, Comparação da intervenção e Outcome [desfecho] de interesse) abordaram aspectos relativos ao uso de moduladores de CFTR (ivacaftor, lumacaftor + ivacaftor e tezacaftor + ivacaftor), uso de dornase alfa, terapia de erradicação e supressão crônica de Pseudomonas aeruginosa, e erradicação de Staphylococcus aureus resistente a meticilina e do complexo Burkholderia cepacia. Para a formulação das perguntas, um grupo de especialistas brasileiros foi reunido e realizou-se uma revisão sistemática sobre os temas, com meta-análise quando aplicável. Os resultados encontrados foram analisados quanto à força das evidências compiladas, sendo concebidas recomendações seguindo a metodologia GRADE. Os autores acreditam que o presente documento represente um importante avanço a ser incorporado na abordagem de pacientes com FC, objetivando principalmente favorecer seu manejo, podendo se tornar uma ferramenta auxiliar na definição de políticas públicas relacionadas à FC.

ABSTRACT The root-knot nematode (RKN) Meloidogyne enterolobii is gaining importance all around the world, including Brazil, damaging sweetpotato genotypes with known resistance to other RKN species, making it challenging to generate new resistant genes. This study aimed to assess the levels of resistance of 10 advanced sweetpotato cultivars to this nematode species. Two experiments were carried out in 2018/2019 and 2021/2022 seasons, under greenhouse conditions in Brasília-DF, Brazil. A completely randomized block design with six replicates of one plant/plot/treatment was used. The gall index (GI) and egg mass index (EMI) in the root system of each plant, the number of eggs and juveniles per gram of root with galls (NERG), and the nematode reproduction factor (RF) were determined. M. enterolobii resistance is present within three of the evaluated clones: BGBD 1399, MD 1609024, and MD 1610036, therefore demonstrating their potential as sources of resistance genes to assist breeding efforts to release cultivars, and help to reduce the impact and spread of this RKN.

RESUMO A espécie de nematoide-das-galhas Meloidogyne enterolobii vem ganhando importância em todo o mundo, inclusive no Brasil, com áreas cada vez mais infestadas e causando danos a genótipos com resistência a outras espécies de nematoide-das-galhas prevalentes no país, inclusive em batata-doce, tornando desafiadora a busca por fontes de resistência. Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar os níveis de resistência em 10 clones avançados do programa de melhoramento da Embrapa Hortaliças e cultivares de batata-doce a essa espécie de nematoide. Os experimentos foram conduzidos nas safras 2018/2019 e 2021/2022, em casa de vegetação em Brasília-DF, Brasil. Utilizou-se o delineamento em blocos casualizados com seis repetições de uma planta por parcela/tratamento. Foram determinados os índices de galhas (GI) e massa de ovos (EMI) no sistema radicular de cada planta, o número de ovos e juvenis por grama de raiz (NERG) e o fator de reprodução (RF) do nematoide. Três clones foram classificados como resistentes entre os avaliados: BGBD 1399, MD 1609024 e MD 1610036, sendo, portanto, potenciais fontes de resistência para programas de melhoramento genético visando lançar cultivares, auxiliando na diminuição do impacto e da expansão da ocorrência desse nematoide.

Abstract Objectives To prospectively compare the results of microvascular flap reconstruction of midface and scalp advanced oncologic defects using superficial temporal versus cervical as recipient vessels. Methods This is a parallel group clinical trial with 1:1 allocation ratio of patients who underwent midface and scalp oncologic reconstruction with free tissue flap from April 2018 to April 2022 in a tertiary oncologic center. Two groups were analyzed: those in whom superficial temporal vessels were used as the recipient vessels (Group A) and those in whom cervical vessels were used as the recipient vessels (Group B). Patient gender and age, cause and localization of the defect, flap choice for reconstruction, recipient vessels, intraoperative outcome, postoperative course, and complications were recorded and analyzed. A Fisher’s exact test was used to compare outcomes between the 2 groups. Results On the basis of the different recipient vessels, 32 patients were randomized into 2 groups, and of these 27 patients completed the study: Group A with superficial temporal recipient vessels (n = 12) and Group B with cervical recipient vessels (n = 15). There were 18 male and 09 female patients with an average age of 53.92 ± 17.49 years. The overall flap survival rate was 88.89%. The overall complication rate for vascular anastomosis was 14.81%. The total flap loss rate in patients with superficial temporal recipient vessels was higher than the complication rate in those with cervical recipient vessels but with no statistical significance (16.67% vs. 6.66%, p= 0.569). Minor complications occurred in 05 patients without statistical significance between the groups (p= 0.342). Conclusion In the group with superficial temporal recipient vessels, the postoperative rate of free flap complications was similar than the cervical recipient vessel group. Therefore the use of superficial temporal recipient vessels for midface and scalp oncologic reconstruction could be a reliable option.

ABSTRACT An adequate use of brackish water in agricultural production is one of the main challenges for researchers and rural producers, since saline stress may cause physiological and nutritional changes in plants, affecting the crop yield. An appropriate mineral nutrition is essential for plants, grown under saline stress, to express their productive potential. The aim of this study was to evaluate the mineral nutrition and hydroponic kale production under saline stress and calcium nitrate. The experiment was carried out using one hydroponic system in substrate, following a randomized block design, with five treatments and four replicates. The treatments consisted of five nutrient solutions, with a control treatment {S1 = standard nutrient solution using low salinity water, 0.5 dS/m [750 mg/L of Ca(NO3)2]}, and four nutrient solutions prepared using brackish water (6.0 dS/m) containing four concentrations of Ca(NO3)2 (S2 = 750 mg/L, S3 = 1,125 mg/L, S4 = 1,500 mg/L, S5 = 1,875 mg/L). We determined the levels of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S in leaf tissue at three evaluation times (50, 64 and 78 DAT). Mineral levels in the leaves, stem and root were also evaluated at the end of the experiment (100 DAT). In addition, leaf production and the agronomic efficiency of Ca(NO3)2 were verified. The highest leaf production (1780 g/plant) and agronomic efficiency [2.37 g fresh matter/mg of Ca(NO3)2] were obtained in the standard nutrient solution, and both were reduced at 55.6% by salinity. The extra addition of 50% Ca(NO3)2 in the saline nutrient solution reduced the effect of salinity on Mg absorption and the effect of NaCl addition on kale production.

RESUMO O uso de águas salobras na produção agrícola é um dos principais desafios para pesquisadores e produtores rurais, pois sob estresse salino as plantas podem apresentar alterações fisiológicas e nutricionais, que afetam o rendimento das culturas. Com isso, adequada nutrição mineral é fundamental para que as plantas cultivadas sob estresse salino possam expressar seu potencial produtivo. Objetivou-se com o presente estudo avaliar a nutrição mineral e a produção de couve folha hidropônica sob estresse salino e nitrato de cálcio. O experimento foi desenvolvido utilizando um sistema hidropônico em substrato, seguindo o delineamento de blocos casualizados, com cinco tratamentos e quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram compostos por cinco soluções nutritivas, sendo um tratamento controle {S1 = solução nutritiva padrão usando água de baixa salinidade, 0,5 dS/m [750 mg/L de Ca(NO3)2]}, e quatro soluções nutritivas preparadas em águas salobras (6,0 dS/m) contendo quatro concentrações de Ca(NO3)2 (S2 = 750 mg/L, S3 = 1.125 mg/L, S4 = 1.500 mg/L, S5 = 1.875 mg/L). Foram determinados os teores de N, P, K, Ca, Mg e S no tecido foliar em três épocas de avaliações (50, 64 e 78 DAT), além de uma avaliação dos teores minerais nas folhas, caule e raiz ao final do experimento (100 DAT). As variáveis produção de folhas e eficiência agronômica do Ca(NO3)2 foram avaliadas. A maior produção de folhas (1780 g/planta) e eficiência agronômica [2,37 g matéria fresca/mg de Ca(NO3)2] foram obtidas na solução nutritiva padrão, e ambas foram reduzidas em 55,6% pela salinidade. A adição extra de Ca(NO3)2 em 50% na solução nutritiva salinizada reduziu o efeito da salinidade sobre a absorção de Mg e reduziu o efeito da adição de NaCl sobre a produção da couve.

Abstract OBJECTIVE: Hepatitis B is an important public health concern. Currently, the COVID-19 pandemic is a major challenge for health systems, and the access to pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment of chronic diseases, such as hepatitis B, may have been affected due to the contingency measures. This study aimed to evaluate the access to antiviral therapy during the ongoing pandemic. METHODS: This was a descriptive analysis of the access to treatment for chronic hepatitis B at a tertiary-level university hospital in São Paulo, integrated with the Brazilian health system. The study was conducted from April to December 2020. RESULTS: Access to antiviral therapy for 225 patients was assessed. The majority of the population was male (59%). The main type of service was the Programa Medicamento em Casa (Home Medication Delivery Program), which was availed by 144 (64%) patients. Women had poorer access to antiviral therapy (56%, p<0.05), and patients registered in the HMDP (68%, p<0.05) had better access. The age group of >48 years represented 70% of the group without access to antiviral therapy. Twenty-two pharmaceutical appointments were conducted through phone calls with patients without access to antiviral therapy. CONCLUSION: This study contributes to the rationalization of efforts in a public health crisis through the identification of groups with the highest risk of poor access to antiviral therapy and the demonstration of the benefits of a medication delivery system.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Hemophilia is characterized by the occurrence of frequent bleeding and serious musculoskeletal conditions in patients that cause physical, social and psychological damage and directly affect their health-related quality of life. Objective: To evaluate the quality of life of people with hemophilia in the northeast of Brazil. Methods: Quantitative cross-sectional epidemiological study conducted with 13 people with hemophilia from a Blood Bank in northeastern Brazil. Data collection was performed by applying a sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire and Haem-A-Qol, used to assess the quality of life of people with hemophilia. Raw and mean values were calculated overall for all domains and then for each domain so that they could be displayed. Results: A total average of 30,94 was obtained in relation to the ten domains evaluated. The domains with the highest averages were "physical health" with 49,23 and "coping" with 35,89 and with the lowest average was "family planning". Conclusions: The research participants have an unsatisfactory quality of life in relation to physical health and coping, and satisfactory in relation to relationships and sexuality.

RESUMEN Introducción: La hemofilia se caracteriza por la ocurrencia de hemorragias frecuentes y afecciones del aparato locomotor graves en los pacientes que causan daños físicos, sociales y psicológicos y afecta directamente su calidad de vida relacionada con la salud. Objetivo: Evaluar la calidad de vida de personas con hemofilia en el noreste de Brasil. Métodos: Estudio epidemiológico transversal cuantitativo realizado con 13 personas con hemofilia de un Banco de Sangre en el noreste de Brasil. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante la aplicación de un cuestionario sociodemográfico y clínico y de Haem-A-Qol, utilizado para evaluar la calidad de vida de las personas con hemofilia. Los valores brutos y medios se calcularon en general para todos los dominios y luego para cada dominio para que pudieran mostrarse. Resultados: Se obtuvo un promedio total de 30,94 en relación a los diez dominios evaluados. Los dominios con los promedios más altos fueron “salud física” con 49,23 y “afrontamiento” con 35,89 y con el promedio más bajo fue “planificación familiar”. Conclusiones: Los participantes de la investigación tienen una calidad de vida insatisfactoria en relación con la salud física y el afrontamiento y, satisfactoria en relación con las relaciones y la sexualidad.

Abstract Carriers of the mutated CDH1 gene have an increased risk of developing early-onset signet-ring cell (diffuse) gastric cancer. We present a case of a young patient with a confirmed mutation of the CDH1 gene, who was diagnosed with a gastric marginal zone B-cell lymphoma (MZL) of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) from surveillance endoscopy. He underwent Helicobacter pylori eradication treatment and was subsequently submitted to a total prophylactic gastrectomy. The surgical specimen only revealed foci of signet-ring cell carcinoma (SRCC) in situ without lymphoma signs. We highlight here the occurrence of other pathology in high-risk patients as well as its possible influence on the decision to perform gastrectomy.

Resumo A mutação do gene CDH1 determina um risco aumentado de desenvolvimento precoce de cancro gástrico de células em anel de sinete (tipo difuso). Apresentamos um caso de um doente jovem portador de uma mutação no gene CDH1 que foi diagnosticado com linfoma de MALT gástrico numa endoscopia de vigilância. O doente foi submetido a terapêutica de erradicação da Helicobacter pylori e subsequentemente realizou uma gastrectomia total profilática. A avaliação histológica da peça cirúrgica identificou focos de carcinoma in situ de células de anel em sinete, sem evidência de linfoma. O nosso objetivo é salientar a ocorrência de outras patologias em doentes de alto risco assim como a sua possível influência na decisão cirúrgica.
