Abstract The objective was to understand the difficulties and potential of a Mental Health (MH) network aimed at children and adolescents, identifying how professionals understand and operationalize the principles of the policy of SM for children and adolescents. Five Focus Groups were held, with the participation of 43 workers. We used lexical analysis through the Iramuteq software, originating four classes: “What is being a child and adolescent?”; “What do children and adolescents suffer from?”; “On the relationship between services” and “Potentials and challenges of the Mental Health Network”. Difficulties in sharing care were identified, articulating the network outside of oneself. Capsij is perceived as a priority for user embracement, and there is still difficulty in providing care in MH in Primary Care (AB). It is concluded that the complexity of care in MS for children and adolescents imposes the need to continue strategies to strengthen the AB and intersectoral actions aimed at an expanded clinic.

Resumen El objetivo fue comprender las dificultades y potencialidades de una red de Salud Mental (SM) para niños y adolescentes, identificando cómo los profesionales entienden y operacionalizan los principios de la política de SM para la niñez y adolescencia. Se realizaron cinco Grupos Focales, en los que participaron 43 trabajadores. Se utilizó el análisis léxico a través del software Iramuteq, originando cuatro clases: “¿Qué es ser niño y adolescente?”; “¿Qué padecen los niños y adolescentes?”; “Sobre la relación entre servicios” y “Potencialidades y desafíos de la Red de Salud Mental”. Se identificaron dificultades a la hora de compartir los cuidados, articulando la red para fuera de sí. El Capsij se percibe como una prioridad para la acogida, existiendo aún dificultades para implementar los cuidados en SM en Atención Primaria (AP). Se concluye que la complejidad de la atención en SM para niños y adolescentes impone la necesidad de continuidad de las estrategias de fortalecimiento de la AP y de acciones intersectoriales, visando una clínica ampliada.

Resumo Objetivou-se conhecer as dificuldades e potencialidades de uma rede de Saúde Mental (SM) voltada a crianças e adolescentes, identificando como profissionais compreendem e operacionalizam os princípios da política de SM infantojuvenil. Foram realizados cinco Grupos Focais, com participação de 43 trabalhadores. Utilizou-se da análise lexical por meio do software Iramuteq, originando quatro classes: “O que é ser criança e adolescente?”; “Do que sofrem as crianças e adolescentes?”; “Sobre a relação entre os serviços” e “Potencialidades e desafios da Rede de Saúde Mental”. Identificou-se dificuldades em compartilhar o cuidado, articulando a rede para fora de si. O Capsij é percebido como prioritário para o acolhimento, havendo, ainda, dificuldade em efetivar os cuidados em SM na Atenção Básica (AB). Conclui-se que a complexidade da atenção em SM para crianças e adolescentes impõe a necessidade de continuidade de estratégias de fortalecimento da AB e de ações intersetoriais visando uma clínica ampliada.

Abstract In vitro flowering is a technique used in genetic improvement that accelerates generations and favors the faster fixation of new traits of agronomic and market interest. The study aimed to establish a protocol for the in vitro flowering of Dendrobium nobile, through the combined temperature and of the growth regulator thidiazuron (TDZ) effects. Experiments was performed in a flask that was kept in a BOD incubator at 18, 21, or 24 °C or in a growth room at 26 °C. The TDZ concentrations were 0.0, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.0 mg L-1. The highest percentage of flowering shoots of 13.7% occurred at a concentration of 2 mg L-1 of TDZ grown at a temperature of 18 °C. Dendrobium nobile in vitro flowering was promoted in plants cultivated in ½ MS supplemented with 30 g L-1 sucrose, 5.5 g L-1 agar, 100 mL L-1 coconut water, pH 6.0, and 2.0 mg L-1 TDZ at a controlled temperature of 18 °C and a photoperiod of 16 h. The in vitro flowering induction protocol of the D. nobile species could be used or improved for future studies.

Resumo A floração in vitro é uma técnica utilizada no melhoramento genético que acelerar gerações e favorecer a fixação mais rápida de novos caracteres de interesse agronômico e do mercado. O estudo visou estabelecer um protocolo para a floração in vitro de Dendrobium nobile, através dos efeitos combinados de temperatura e do regulador de crescimento thidiazuron (TDZ). Os experimentos foram realizados em incubadora tipo BOD a 18, 21, 24 °C e, em sala de crescimento a 26 °C. As concentrações de TDZ testadas foram de 0,0, 0,5, 1,0 e 2,0 mg L-1. A maior porcentagem de brotos floridos de 13,70% ocorreu na concentração de 2 mg L-1 de TDZ cultivados em temperatura de 18 °C. O florescimento in vitro de D. nobile foi promovido em plantas cultivadas em ½ MS suplementadas com 30 g L-1 de sacarose, 5,5 g L-1 de ágar, 100 mL L-1 de água de coco, pH 6,0 e 2,0 mg L-1 de TDZ em temperatura controlada de 18 °C e fotoperíodo de 16 h. O protocolo de indução de florescimento in vitro da espécie D. nobile poderá ser utilizado ou aprimorado para estudos futuros.

Abstract Objective: To assess the reliability of phase-sensitive inversion recovery (PSIR) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and its accuracy for determining the topography of demyelinating cortical lesions in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Materials and Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted at a tertiary referral center for MS and other demyelinating disorders. We assessed the agreement among three raters for the detection and topographic classification of cortical lesions on fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) and PSIR sequences in patients with MS. Results: We recruited 71 patients with MS. The PSIR sequences detected 50% more lesions than did the FLAIR sequences. For detecting cortical lesions, the level of interrater agreement was satisfactory, with a mean free-response kappa (κFR) coefficient of 0.60, whereas the mean κFR for the topographic reclassification of the lesions was 0.57. On PSIR sequences, the raters reclassified 366 lesions (20% of the lesions detected on FLAIR sequences), with excellent interrater agreement. There was a significant correlation between the total number of lesions detected on PSIR sequences and the Expanded Disability Status Scale score (ρ = 0.35; p < 0.001). Conclusion: It seems that PSIR sequences perform better than do FLAIR sequences, with clinically satisfactory interrater agreement, for the detection and topographic classification of cortical lesions. In our sample of patients with MS, the PSIR MRI findings were significantly associated with the disability status, which could influence decisions regarding the treatment of such patients.

Resumo Objetivo: Avaliar a confiabilidade da sequência PSIR e sua precisão no diagnóstico topográfico de lesões corticais desmielinizantes em pacientes com esclerose múltipla (EM). Materiais e Métodos: Estudo transversal realizado em centro de referência terciário para EM e distúrbios desmielinizantes. Avaliamos a concordância entre três avaliadores na identificação e classificação topográfica de lesões corticais na ressonância magnética de pacientes com EM, utilizando as sequências FLAIR e PSIR. Resultados: Foram incluídos 71 pacientes com EM. Em PSIR detectou-se 1,5× mais lesões do que em FLAIR, com concordância satisfatória entre examinadores na identificação de lesões corticais, com coeficiente kappa de resposta livre (κFR) = 0,60, e na reclassificação topográfica das lesões, com κFR médio = 0,57. Os avaliadores reclassificaram 366 lesões em PSIR (20% das lesões detectadas em FLAIR), com excelente concordância. Houve correlação significativa do total de lesões detectadas em PSIR e o escore da escala de incapacidade EDSS (ρ = 0,35; p < 0,001). Conclusão: PSIR mostrou-se superior na detecção de lesões corticais e na classificação topográfica destas em comparação ao FLAIR, com concordâncias entre examinadores clinicamente satisfatórias. A associação significativa entre o número de lesões corticais em PSIR e o grau de incapacidade dos pacientes pode influenciar em decisões terapêuticas.

Abstract Objective: There are few studies on long-latency auditory evoked potential (P300) in people with hearing loss who use a cochlear implant. Central auditory system evaluation with behavioral and electrophysiological tests is believed to help understand the neuroplasticity mechanisms involved in auditory functioning after cochlear implant surgery. This study investigated the electrophysiological processing of cortical level acoustic signals in a group of 21 adult individuals with postlingual bilateral severe-to-profound hearing loss who were submitted to cochlear implant surgery. Methods: Data were collected in three phases: pre-cochlear implant surgery, at cochlear implant activation, and 6 months after surgery. P300 measures were also registered during all phases. Tone-burst and speech stimuli were used to elicit P300 and were presented in free field. Results: Mean P3 component latency with tone-burst and speech stimuli were 352.9 and 321.9 ms in the pre-cochlear implant phase, 364.9 and 368.7 ms in the activation phase, 336.2 and 343.6 ms 6 months after the surgery. The P3 component mean latency values using tone-burst at activation were significantly different from those 6 months after cochlear implant. They were also significantly different using speech, between pre-cochlear implant and activation phases. Lower P3 component latency occurred 6 months after cochlear implant activation with tone-burst and pre-cochlear implant with speech stimulus. There was a weak correlation between mean P3 component latency with speech stimulus and time of hearing loss. There was no difference in amplitude between phases or in the comparison with the other variables. Conclusion: There were changes in P3 component latency during the period assessed, for both speech and pure-tone stimuli, with increased latency in the activation phase and similar lower results in the two other phases, Pre-CI and 6 months after CI use. Mean amplitude measures did not vary in the three phases.

Resumo Fundamento A estimulação cardíaca artificial (ECA) por captura direta ou indireta do feixe de His resulta em contração ventricular sincrônica (ECA fisiológica). Objetivos Comparar sincronia cardíaca, características técnicas e resultados de parâmetros eletrônicos entre duas técnicas de ECA indireta do feixe de His: a não seletiva e a parahissiana. Métodos Intervenção experimental (novembro de 2019 a abril de 2020) com implante de marca-passo definitivo (MPd) DDD em pacientes com fração de ejeção ventricular esquerda > 35%. Foram comparadas a sincronia cardíaca resultante mediante algoritmo de análise eletrocardiográfica da variância espacial do QRS e as características técnicas associadas a cada método entre ECA hissiana não seletiva (DDD-His) e parahissiana (DDD-Var). Resultados De 51 pacientes (28 homens), 34 (66,7%) foram alocados no grupo DDD-Var e 17 (33,3%), no grupo DDD-His, com idade média de 74 e 79 anos, respectivamente. No grupo DDD-Var, a análise da variância espacial do QRS (índice de sincronia ventricular) mostrou melhora após o implante de MPd (p < 0,001). Ao ECG pós-implante, 91,2% dos pacientes do grupo DDD-Var mostraram padrão fisiológico de ECA, comprovando ativação similar à do DDD-His (88,2%; p = 0,999). O eixo do QRS estimulado também foi similar (fisiológico) para ambos os grupos. A mediana do tempo de fluoroscopia do implante foi de 7 minutos no grupo DDD-Var e de 21 minutos no DDD-His (p < 0,001), favorecendo a técnica parahissiana. A duração média do QRS aumentou nos pacientes do DDD-Var (114,7 ms pré-MPd e 128,2 ms pós-implante, p = 0,044). A detecção da onda R foi de 11,2 mV no grupo DDD-Var e de 6,0 mV no DDD-His (p = 0,001). Conclusão A ECA parahissiana comprova recrutamento indireto do feixe de His, mostrando-se uma estratégia eficaz e comparável à ECA fisiológica ao resultar em contração ventricular sincrônica similar à obtida por captura hissiana não seletiva.

Abstract Background Artificial cardiac pacing by direct or indirect His bundle capture results in synchronous ventricular contraction (physiological pacing). Objectives To compare cardiac synchronization, technical characteristics, and electronic parameters between two techniques of indirect His-bundle pacing: non-selective (NS-HBP) vs para-Hisian pacing (PHP). Methods The experimental intervention (between November 2019 and April 2020) consisted of implanting a DDD pacemaker in patients who had left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) > 35%. The resulting cardiac synchronization was compared using an electrocardiographic algorithm that analyzed QRS variation and the technical characteristics of non-selective Hisian pacing (DDD-His) and para-Hisian pacing (DDD-Var). Results Of 51 total patients (men: 28), 66.7% (34) were allocated to the DDD-Var group and 33.3% (17) to the DDD-His group. The mean ages in each group were 74 and 79 years, respectively. In the DDD-Var group, QRS variation (ventricular synchrony) improved after implantation (p < 0.001). In post-implantation ECG, 91.2% of the DDD-Var group presented a physiological pacing pattern, which was similar to the DDD-His group (88.2%; p = 0.999). The paced QRS axis was also similar (physiological) for both groups. Intraoperative fluoroscopy time (XRay) during implantation was lower for the para-Hisian technique (median 7 min in the DDD-Var group vs 21 min in the DDD-His group, p < 0.001). The mean QRS duration increased in the DDD-Var group (114.7 ms pre-implantation vs 128.2 ms post-implantation, p = 0.044). The mean post-implantation R-wave amplitude was 11.2 mV in the DDD-Var group vs 6.0 mV in the DDD-His group, p = 0.001. Conclusion Para-Hisian pacing appears to indirectly recruit the His bundle, which would make this an effective and comparable strategy for physiological pacing, resulting in synchronous ventricular contraction similar to that of non-selective Hisian pacing.

ABSTRACT. The use of a protected environment for vegetable seedling production has become one of the best alternatives to minimize the adverse micrometeorological effects of the external environment and guarantee quality and production throughout the year. Inside the protected environment, it is essential to study the physiological responses of plants to the wavelength, periodicity, intensity, and direction of light in the photosynthetic process. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different intensities of photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) used as an extended photoperiod in a greenhouse on the production of basil seedlings. A completely randomized design, in a 2 × 4 factorial scheme, with four replications of 20 seedlings per plot was used. Two basil varieties, sweet basil (green color) and purple basil (purple color), were evaluated under three intensities of supplementary PAR, which were 375, 411, and 438 µmol m-2 s-1, and control, in the absence of supplementary PAR. The seedling height, stem diameter, shoot dry matter, root dry matter, total dry matter, leaf area, ratio between plant height and stem diameter, ratio between plant height and shoot dry matter, ratio between shoot dry matter and root dry matter, and Dickson quality index were evaluated. Results show that higher intensities of PAR used as an extended photoperiod favor the quality of basil seedlings produced in a protected environment.

ABSTRACT Objective: To map and characterize the studies produced by stricto sensu postgraduate programs on mental health nursing care using the theoretical framework of phenomenology. Method: Bibliographic, retrospective, and descriptive research, carried out in October 2022 using the Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel as a data source. The search strategy associated the term “phenomenology” with the Boolean operator “AND” and the descriptor “Mental Health”. Results: 22 studies were identified, 15 were MS dissertations and (68%) and 7 (32%) were PhD theses. The main phenomenological framework was the work of Schütz. Final considerations: The scientific production of nursing in mental health, in the light of phenomenology, is highly variable. Although still incipient, the interest in' phenomenology’s framework illuminates new perspectives for paradigms of care that value users' singularities and potentialities.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Mapear y caracterizar los estudios producidos por programas de posgrado stricto sensu sobre el cuidado de enfermería en salud mental utilizando el marco teórico de la fenomenología. Método: Investigación bibliográfica, retrospectiva y descriptiva, realizada en octubre de 2022, utilizando como fuente de datos el Catálogo de Tesis y Disertaciones de la Coordinación para el Perfeccionamiento del Personal de Educación Superior. Para la estrategia de búsqueda se utilizó el término libre “fenomenología”, asociado al operador booleano "AND" y al descriptor "Salud Mental". Resultados: Se identificaron 22 estudios, de los cuales 15 (68%) eran disertaciones de maestría y 7 (32%) eran tesis doctorales. Hubo un predominio del pensamiento de Schütz como referencia fenomenológica. Consideraciones finales: Las producciones científicas de la enfermería en salud mental a la luz de la fenomenología reflejan un panorama oscilante. Aunque todavía incipiente, el interés por el marco teórico de la fenomenología ilumina las perspectivas de un paradigma de atención que valora las singularidades y potencialidades de los usuarios.

Método: Pesquisa bibliográfica, retrospectiva e descritiva, realizada em outubro de 2022, tendo como fonte de dados o Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior. Para a estratégia de busca, utilizou-se o termo livre “fenomenologia” associado ao operador booleano “AND” e ao descritor “Saúde Mental”. Resultados: Identificaram-se 22 estudos, destes, 15 (68%) foram do tipo dissertação e sete (32%), teses de doutoramento. Houve predominância do pensamento de Schütz como referencial fenomenológico. Considerações finais: As produções científicas de enfermagem em saúde mental à luz da fenomenologia refletem um panorama oscilante. Embora ainda incipiente, o interesse pelo arcabouço de fenomenologia acende perspectivas para um paradigma de cuidado que valorize as singularidades e potencialidades dos usuários.

Abstract A phytochemical study of Tecoma genus (Bignoniaceae) was accomplished by antitumor activity of ethanolic extracts. Species of this genus are composed of small shrubs often used as ornamental plants. The Tecoma stans species is used in folk medicine for different purposes. Recent work shows in vitro anticancer activity against human breast cancer. The ethanolic extracts from leaves and trunks of Tecoma casneifolia, T. garrocha, T. stans var. angustata and T. stans var. stans were tested in vitro. The assays used were against line tumor cells by the MTT method and the most active extracts were further studied. In this way, the ethanolic extract from T. stans var. stans trunks presented the higher cytotoxicity against the tumor cell lines studied (CC50 0.02 to 0.55 µg/ml) when compared to the other extracts tested (CC50 0.08 to 200.0 µg/ml). Accordingly, this extract was selected for chromatographic fractionation from which five known lignans were isolated. Further, paulownin, paulownin acetate, sesamin, olivil and cycloolivil were identified using 13C and 1H NMR, IR, UV and spectroscopy and spectrometric MS techniques. These isolated compounds were tested and exhibited CC50 ranging from 13.01 to100.0 µg/ml which is superior to the ethanolic extract of trunk of T. stans.

RESUMO A doença renal crônica (DRC) é definida como dano à função renal. Doentes renais crônicos atingem alta prevalência de morte por eventos cardiovasculares antes dos estágios finais, sendo maior a mortalidade em estágio dialítico, em que é evidenciado um desequilíbrio autonômico. Objetivamos avaliar a modulação simpatovagal de pacientes com DRC em tratamento de hemodiálise ambulatorial. Foram avaliados 23 pacientes, divididos em: Grupo DRC com DRC no estágio 5D (DRC-5D) em tratamento regular de hemodiálise ambulatorial; Grupo-controle com indivíduos saudáveis. A variabilidade da frequência cardíaca (VFC) foi coletada por um cardiofrequencímetro e analisada por índices lineares do domínio do tempo e do domínio da frequência. 14 pacientes no Grupo DRC com média de idade 48±16; e 9 pacientes saudáveis no Grupo-controle com média de idade 64±5. Nos resultados pelo domínio de tempo, o Grupo DRC mostrou valores significativamente maiores da frequência cardíaca (FC) comparado ao Grupo-controle (83,49±13,09 bpm vs. 67,88±9,43 bpm). Todavia, os índices média dos intervalos R-R (735,82±121,54 ms vs. 898,94±123,58 ms), RMSSD (11,75±11,86 ms vs. 20,03±6,80 ms), SDNN (17,06±9,81ms vs. 28,42±7,62 ms) do Grupo DRC mostraram valores significativamente menores comparados aos do Grupo-controle, respectivamente. Nos resultados pelo domínio da frequência, o Grupo DRC mostrou valores significativamente menores em comparação ao Grupo-controle nos índices BFab (129,7±184,3 ms vs. 262,31±168,15 ms) e AFab (82,70±227,66 ms vs. 180,77±119,85 ms). Pacientes com DRC em hemodiálise apresentaram redução da modulação parassimpática quando comparados com indivíduos saudáveis, sugerindo prejuízo do balanço simpatovagal e, consequente, disfunção autonômica cardíaca.

ABSTRACT Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is defined as damage to kidney function. Patients have high prevalence of death by cardiovascular events before the final stages of the disease, with higher mortality in dialytic stage, in which autonomic imbalance is evidenced. This study seeks to evaluate sympathovagal modulation of patients with CKD undergoing hemodialysis treatment. We evaluated 23 subjects, divided into: CDK-group with CKD-stage 5D in regular hemodialysis treatment; and Control-group with healthy individuals. Heart rate variability (HRV) was collected by a heart rate monitor and analyzed by linear time domain and frequency domain indices. CDK-group had 14 patients, mean age of 48±16; and Control-group had 9 healthy patients, mean age of 64±5. In the time domain, CDK-group showed significantly higher heart rate values compared with Control-group (83.49±13.09 bpm vs. 67.88±9.43 bpm). However, the mean indices of the R-R intervals (735.82±121.54 ms vs. 898.94±123.58 ms), RMSSD (11.75±11.86 ms vs. 20.03±6.80 ms), and SDNN (17.06±9.81 ms vs. 28.42±7.62 ms) from CDK-group showed significantly lower values compared with Control-group. In frequency domain results, CDK-group showed significantly lower values compared with Control-group in LFab (129.7±184.3 ms vs. 262.31±168.15 ms) and HFab (82.70±227.66 ms vs. 180.77±119.85 ms). Patients with CKD on hemodialysis had reduced parasympathetic modulation compared with healthy subjects, suggesting impairment of the sympathovagal balance and, consequently, cardiac autonomic dysfunction.

RESUMEN La enfermedad renal crónica (ERC) se define como la pérdida de la función renal. Los pacientes renales crónicos tienen una alta prevalencia de muerte por eventos cardiovasculares antes de la etapa final, con mayor mortalidad en la etapa de diálisis, en la que se evidencia un desequilibrio autonómico. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar la modulación simpatovagal de pacientes con ERC sometidos a tratamiento de hemodiálisis ambulatoria. Se evaluaron 23 pacientes, lo cuales fueron divididos en: Grupo ERC con ERC en etapa 5D (ERC-5D) en tratamiento de hemodiálisis ambulatoria regular; Grupo de control con individuos sanos. Para identificar la variabilidad de la frecuencia cardíaca (VFC) se utilizó un monitor de frecuencia cardíaca y los datos obtenidos fueron analizados por los índices lineales de tiempo y de dominio de frecuencia. En el grupo ERC 14 pacientes tenían un promedio de edad de 48±16 años; y en el grupo control 9 pacientes sanos tenían un promedio de edad de 64±5. En los resultados para el dominio del tiempo, el grupo ERC mostró valores significativamente más altos de frecuencia cardíaca (FC) en comparación con el grupo control (83,49±13,09 lpm vs. 67,88±9,43 lpm). Sin embargo, los índices medios de los intervalos R-R (735,82±121,54 ms vs. 898,94±123,58 ms), RMSSD (11,75±11,86 ms vs. 20,03±6,80 ms), SDNN (17,06±9,81 ms vs. 28,42±7,62 ms) del grupo ERC demostraron valores significativamente más bajos en comparación con el grupo control, respectivamente. En los resultados para el dominio de la frecuencia, en el grupo ERC se obtuvo valores significativamente más bajos en comparación con el grupo control en los índices BFab (129,7±184,3 ms vs. 262,31±168,15 ms) y AFab (82,70±227,66 ms vs. 180,77±119,85 ms). Los pacientes con ERC sometidos a hemodiálisis mostraron una modulación parasimpática reducida en comparación con los individuos sanos, lo que sugiere un deterioro del equilibrio simpaticovagal y, en consecuencia, una disfunción autonómica cardíaca.

RESUMO As espécies tropicais podem exigir temperaturas mais altas e maiores concentração de reguladores de crescimento para o desenvolvimento in vitro. Em função dessas condições afetarem o metabolismo vegetal, o objetivo foi identificar como diferentes temperaturas na sala de crescimento e concentrações de giberelinas podem afetar os embriões no desenvolvimento in vitro de estrelícia, analisando o efeito sobre EROS e a estabilidade citogenética. Os embriões zigóticos foram cultivados em meio MS suplementado com 0, 5, 10 e 20 µM de GA3 e mantidos em sala de crescimento sob temperaturas de 25 °C, 30/25 °C e 30 °C. Após 60 dias, observou-se maior germinação dos embriões (72%) e comprimento das brotações (3,14 cm) em meio adicionado com 20 µM de GA3. Nessa concentração, houve um aumento na atividade da redutase do nitrato sem alterar a estabilidade citogenética. A temperatura influenciou apenas o comprimento da parte aérea e da raiz, que foram maiores a 25 °C. A 30 °C, a atividade de SOD e APX aumentou em comparação com o tratamento a 25 °C. Assim, a adição de 20 µM de GA3 ao meio de cultura e temperatura de 25 °C na sala de crescimento deve ser utilizada para cultura de embriões zigóticos de estrelitzia.

ABSTRACT Tropical species may require higher temperatures as well as higher growth regulator concentrations for in vitro development. Since these conditions may affect plant metabolism, the objective of this study was to identify how different temperatures and gibberellin concentrations may affect the in vitro development of strelitzia embryos, analyzing the effect on ROS and cytogenetic stability. Zygotic embryos were cultivated on MS medium supplemented with 5, 10 and 20 µM GA3 under temperatures of 25 °C, 30/25 °C and 30 °C. After 60 days, higher embryonic germination rate (72%) and shoot length of plantlets (3.14 cm) were observed on medium containing 20 µM gibberellic acid (GA3). At this concentration, there was an increase in nitrate reductase activity with no change in the cytogenetic stability. The temperature influenced only shoot and root lengths, which were highest at 25 °C. At 30 °C, superoxide dismutase (SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) activities increased compared with those at 25 °C. Thus, the addition of 20 µM GA3 to the culture medium and a temperature of 25 °C in the growth room should be used for zygotic embryo culture of strelitzia.

Abstract Low birth weight in pigs may compromise lifelong growth potential and productive performance. An evaluation was done of how birth weight affects nitrogen and energy balances in growing pigs. Assays of nitrogen and energy balances were done of five pairs of sibling piglets (n= 10), each pair consisting of a low birth weight (LBW= 912 ± 40 g) and a normal birth weight (NBW= 1,610 ± 223 g) individual. The pigs were managed normally until 90 days of age, then transferred to metabolic cages for the balance assays. These were done when both pigs attained 50 kg weight and again when they were the same age (when the LBW pig weighed 50 kg). The NBW pigs digested more (P<0.05) dry matter at 50 kg and at the same age (86.9 vs 86.0). Nitrogen digestibility tended to be higher (P<0.10) in the NBW at 50 kg (77.6 vs 76.7) and was clearly higher (P<0.05) at the same age (78.0 vs 76.7). Retained nitrogen as a percentage of intake was higher (P<0.01) in the NBW (61.1% vs 57.7 %) at the same age, which also occurred (P <0.10) for nitrogen retained as a percentage of absorbed nitrogen (78.4 % vs 75.2 %). Energy digestibility was higher (P<0.05) in the NBW both at 50 kg (85.1 vs 84.1%) and at the same age (P<0.01) (85.4 vs 84.1 %). Metabolizable energy was higher in the NBW both at 50 kg (P<0.05) (83.0 vs 82.0 %) and at the same age (P<0.01) (83.5 vs 82.0 %). The low birth weight piglets were generally less efficient than the normal birth weight pigs.

Resumen Para determinar el efecto del peso al nacimiento sobre los balances de nitrógeno (N) y energía (E) en cerdos en crecimiento se realizaron balances de N y E a cinco pares de hermanos. Cada par constó de un cerdo de peso bajo al nacimiento (PBN=912 ± 40 g) y un cerdo de peso normal al nacimiento (PNN=1,610 ± 223 g). Los cerdos se manejaron de manera normal hasta los 90 días de edad, cuando se trasladaron a la Unidad Metabólica para realizar los dos estudios de balance: a los 50 kg de peso y a la misma edad (cuando el cerdo PBN pesó 50 kg). Los PNN digirieron más (P<0.05) MS a los 50 kg y a la misma edad (86.9 vs 86.0). La digestibilidad del N tendió (P<0.10) a ser mayor en los PNN a los 50 kg (77.6 vs 76.7) y fue mayor (P<0.05) a la misma edad (78.0 vs 76.7). El N retenido como porcentaje del consumido a la misma edad fue mayor (P<0.01) en los PNN 61.1 % vs 57.7 %; y (P<0.10) en el N retenido como porcentaje del absorbido 78.4 % vs 75.2 %. Se observó una mayor (P<0.05) digestibilidad de la E a los 50 kg en los PNN 85.1 vs 84.1 % y a la misma edad (P<0.01) 85.4 vs 84.1 %. La EM fue mayor a los 50 kg (P<0.05) en los PNN 83.0 vs 82.0 % y a la misma edad (P<0.01) 83.5 vs 82.0 %. Se concluye que los cerdos PBN son menos eficientes que los cerdos PNN.

RESUMO Este é um estudo de caso que objetivou analisar, na perspectiva da saúde coletiva, o processo de desenvolvimento do equipamento médico para o tratamento do pé diabético realizado pela parceria entre o Ministério da Saúde (MS) e a Universidade de Brasília (UnB) no período de dezembro de 2016 a janeiro de 2019. A análise observou o comportamento do grupo de pesquisa responsável pela produção da tecnologia dura mediante as dificuldades em transformar a pesquisa em um produto com viés mercadológico capaz de ser assimilado na cobertura do Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), concomitantemente à participação da saúde coletiva na superação de alguns entraves. Utilizou-se como estudo de caso a parceria entre o MS e a UnB apoiado no modelo de investigação qualitativa com ênfase em processos metodológicos de tipologia mista, mas com prioridade aos métodos de observação participante cuja unidade de análise está vinculada à saúde coletiva. Os resultados observados evidenciaram que a contribuição da saúde coletiva na produção da tecnologia dura minimizou lacunas para a provável transformação da ideia em produto assimilável pelo SUS. A participação da saúde coletiva diminuiu os espaços entre as áreas do conhecimento envolvidas, aproximando a universidade da iniciativa privada e dos órgãos reguladores.

ABSTRACT This is a case study that is aimed at analyzing, from the perspective of public health, the process of development of medical equipment for the treatment of diabetic foot performed by the partnership between the Ministry of Health (MS) and the University of Brasilia (UnB) from December 2016 to January 2019. The analysis observed the behavior of the research group responsible for the production of hard technology in the face of the difficulties in transforming the research into a product with market potential that can be assimilated into the coverage of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS), concomitantly with the participation of public health in overcoming some barriers. The partnership between MS and UnB was used as a case study, supported in the qualitative research model with emphasis on methodological processes of mixed typology, but prioritizing participatory observation methods whose unit of analysis is linked to public health. The results showed that the contribution of public health on the production of hard technology minimized gaps for the probable transformation of the idea into a product assimilated by SUS. The participation of public health narrowed the gaps between the areas of knowledge involved, bringing the university closer to a private initiative and regulating institutions.

Resumo OBJETIVOS Verificar a associação entre os fatores sociodemográficos e comportamentais com a síndrome metabólica em pessoas vivendo com HIV. MÉTODOS Estudo transversal, realizado em ambulatórios especializados no município de Ribeirão Preto - SP, entre outubro de 2014 a outubro de 2016. Para avaliação da síndrome metabólica utilizou-se os critérios do National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III e da International Diabetes Federation. Foram realizadas entrevistas individuais e utilizou-se o teste qui-quadrado e exato de Fisher. RESULTADOS Foram avaliados 340 pacientes, 28,5% (n=97) com SM pelo critério do National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III, e 39,4% (n=134) pela International Diabetes Federation. Houve associação entre a síndrome metabólica e as variáveis sexo (ATP: p<0,001; IDF: p=0,002), idade (ATP: p<0,001; IDF: p<0,001), escolaridade (ATP: p=0,003; IDF: p=0,003), estado civil (ATP: p=0,003; IDF: p=0,022), situação de trabalho (ATP: p=0,003; IDF: p=0,024), orientação sexual (ATP: p=0,003; IDF: p=0,015), hábitos de fumar (ATP: p=0,037; IDF: p=0,033) e atividades de lazer (ATP: p=0,010; IDF: p=0,006). CONCLUSÕES Existem associações significativas entre a síndrome metabólica, fatores sociodemográficos e comportamentais em pessoas vivendo com HIV.

METHODS A cross-sectional study was carried out in specialized outpatient clinics in Ribeirão Preto - SP city, between October 2014 and October 2016. The criteria of the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III and the International Diabetes Federation were used for the evaluation of metabolic syndrome. Individual interviews were conducted and the Chi-square and Fisher’s exact test was used. RESULTS 340 patients were evaluated, 28.5% (n=97) with metabolic syndrome by the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel III criterion, and 39.4% (n=134) by the International Diabetes Federation. There was an association between MS and the variables gender (ATP: p<0.001, p=0.002), age (ATP: p<0.001, IDF: p<0.001), schooling (ATP: p=0.003, IDF: p=0.003), marital status (ATP: p=0.003, IDF: p=0.022), work status (ATP: p=0.003; IDF: p=0.024), smoking (ATP: p=0.037, IDF: p=0.033) and leisure activities (ATP: p=0.010, IDF: p=0.006). CONCLUSIONS There are significant associations between the metabolic syndrome, sociodemographic and behavioral factors in people living with HIV.
