ABSTRACT The Cerrado biome occupies 22% of Brazil's land area and has one of the highest levels of endemism of flora and fauna species of any biome. As components of the fauna, the arthropods stand out as they perform several functions within ecosystems and serve as bioindicators of environmental quality. This work aimed to evaluate the association of the arthropod fauna with tree canopies in an area surrounding a fragment of a legal reserve adjacent to a coffee plantation. The study was conducted at the Juliana farm (18°43'29"S; 47°29'55"W), located in the municipality of Monte Carmelo, Minas Gerais, Brazil. The canopy net methodology was used, in which a net bag was wrapped around the branches and shaken five times, covering the four cardinal directions in the crowns of 20 trees. The contents of the net were placed in plastic bags, sealed, identified, and taken to the laboratory. Twelve monthly collections were performed between August 2018 and July 2019, for a total of 240 samples. The collected specimens were identified in taxonomic groups using a taxonomic key. During the sampling period, 804 individuals were collected, belonging to 56 taxa of the classes Arachnida and Insecta. Xylopia aromatica (Annonaceae) was the most representative tree species, with 50% of the sampled taxa found in its branches. The order Araneae and the families Asilidae and Tephritidae (Diptera) and Formicidae (Hymenoptera) were the predominant taxa in the faunistic analysis. As potential predators, Araneae and Formicidae were the most important groups and were found in all tree species sampled. The families Braconidae and Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) were the most common among the parasitoids. We conclude that the legal reserve and permanent preservation areas maintain populations of tree species that can generate a survival site for natural enemies and other canopy arthropods.

RESUMEN El Cerrado ocupa el 22% de la superficie terrestre de Brasil y tiene uno de los niveles más altos de endemismo de fauna y flora en comparación con otros biomas. Como componentes de la fauna se destacan los artrópodos, los cuales realizan varias funciones dentro de los ecosistemas y pueden servir como indicadores ambientales. Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo evaluar la asociación de la fauna de artrópodos con las copas de los árboles en un área de borde de un fragmento de bosque perteneciente a una reserva natural adyacente a una plantación de café. El estudio se realizó en la finca Juliana (18°43'29 "S; 47°29'55" O), ubicada en el municipio de Monte Carmelo, Minas Gerais, Brasil. Se adaptó la metodología de red de dosel para realizar la colecta de especímenes. Se envolvió una bolsa de red alrededor de las ramas de copas de 20 árboles y se agitó cinco veces, cubriendo los cuatro puntos cardinales. El contenido de la red se colocó en bolsas plásticas que luego de selladas e identificadas fueron llevadas al laboratorio. Se realizaron doce colectas mensuales entre agosto de 2018 y julio de 2019, totalizando 240 muestras. Los grupos taxonómicos a los que pertenecían los especímenes colectados fueron identificados utilizando una clave taxonómica. Se colectaron 804 individuos pertenecientes a 56 taxones de las clases Arachnida e Insecta. Xylopia aromatica (Annonaceae) fue la especie arbórea más representativa, conteniendo en sus ramas el 50% de los taxones colectados. El orden Araneae y las familias Asilidae y Tephritidae (Diptera) y Formicidae (Hymenoptera) fueron los taxones predominantes en el análisis faunístico. Los depredadores potenciales Araneae y Formicidae fueron los grupos más conspicuos, encontrándose en todas las especies de árboles analizadas. Las familias Braconidae e Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) fueron las más comunes entre los parasitoides. Concluimos que la reserva natural y las áreas de preservación permanente mantienen poblaciones de especies arbóreas que pueden generar espacios de supervivencia para enemigos naturales y otros artrópodos del dosel.

RESUMO Objetivo: identificar os tipos de âncoras de carreira de enfermeiros de hospital universitário e o alinhamento ao trabalho atual, na perspectiva da saúde do trabalhador. Método: estudo descritivo e quantitativo, desenvolvido em hospital universitário, com 135 enfermeiros, no período de dezembro de 2018 a fevereiro de 2019. Utilizou-se como instrumento a Escala de Âncoras de Carreira e um instrumento para avaliação do alinhamento das âncoras de carreira ao trabalho atual. Resultados: identificou-se que as âncoras mais frequentes foram: Segurança e Estabilidade, Senso de serviço/Dedicação a uma causa e Estilo de Vida. Entre os enfermeiros, 63,7% não estavam alinhados à sua âncora de carreira. Conclusão: o fator alinhamento não é prevalente entre os enfermeiros, demonstrando que a maioria busca atender suas motivações profissionais, mas não encontram no seu trabalho atual, podendo levar ao desgaste físico e ao sofrimento psíquico.

ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the types of career anchors of university hospital nurses and alignment with current work, from the perspective of workers’ health. Method: a descriptive and quantitative study, developed in a university hospital with 135 nurses, from December 2018 to February 2019. The Career Orientations Inventory was used as an instrument and an instrument to assess the alignment of career anchors to the current job. Results: it was identified that the most frequent anchors were: Security/Stability, Service/Dedication to a Cause, and Lifestyle. Among nurses, 63.7% were not aligned with their career anchor. Conclusion: the alignment factor is not prevalent among nurses, demonstrating that most seek to meet their professional motivations, but do not find it in their current work, which can lead to physical exhaustion and psychological distress.

RESUMEN Objetivo: identificar los tipos de anclas de carrera del enfermero de hospitales universitarios y su alineación con el trabajo actual, desde la perspectiva de la salud de los trabajadores. Método: estudio descriptivo y cuantitativo, realizado en un hospital universitario, con 135 enfermeros, de diciembre de 2018 a febrero de 2019. Se utilizó la Career Anchor Scale como instrumento y un instrumento para evaluar la alineación de los anclajes de carrera a la trabajo actual. Resultados: se identificó que los anclajes más frecuentes fueron: Seguridad y Estabilidad, Servicio/Dedicación a una Causa y Estilo de Vida. Entre las enfermeras, el 63,7% no estaba alineado con el ancla de su carrera. Conclusión: el factor de alineación no prevalece entre los enfermeros, demostrando que la mayoría busca satisfacer sus motivaciones profesionales, pero no lo encuentran en su trabajo actual, lo que puede derivar en agotamiento físico y malestar psicológico.

ABSTRACT This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of Curcuma longa on the growth performance, intestinal integrity, and antimicrobial activity of chicks colonized by Salmonella Typhimurium. The study included 672 one-day-old male chicks of the CobbTM lineage, which were divided into eight treatment groups with 14 birds per group and six repetitions, for a total of 48 experimental units per treatment. A randomized 4×2 factorial design scheme (C. longa levels × inoculation by Salmonella Typhimurium) was used. Chicks were orally inoculated with 1.2×104 cfu/mL of Salmonella Typhimurium in 0.5 mL of 0.85% buffered saline solution. Curcuma was added to the feed of chicks at 0, 1, 2, and 3% for 35 days. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and Tukey's test. Optimal feed conversion was observed in chicks given feed supplemented with 1% C. longa, regardless of infection, and 1% C. longa prevented intestinal colonization by Salmonella Typhimurium. Supplementation and bacterial infection influenced the histomorphometry and pH of the intestine. Bacterial infection reduced the intestinal pH, whereas C. longa supplementation increased the pH, but only in infected chicks. Thus, supplementation with 1% C. longa favors feed conversion, inhibits intestinal colonization by Salmonella Typhimurium, and does not alter intestinal integrity. In contrast, supplementation with 3% Curcuma longa decreases feed intake, affecting the performance of 35-day-old chicks.

RESUMO: A broca-da-cana, Diatraea saccharalis (Fabr., 1794) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), é uma das principais pragas da cana-de-açúcar. Essa praga pode reduzir a qualidade e a produtividade da cultura. Informações sobre a qualidade e a produtividade de cultivares em relação ao ataque da broca-da-cana são necessárias, pois orientam a escolha dos melhores materiais para utilização em conjunto com outras táticas de manejo. Dois experimentos de campo foram instalados em 2011 e 2012 para comparar a qualidade e a produtividade de 16 cultivares comerciais de cana-de-açúcar (IACSP93-3046, IACSP94-2094, IACSP94-2101, IAC91-1099, IACSP95-5000, IAC87-3396, RB92579, RB867515, RB966928, CTC2, CTC4, CTC9, CTC11, CTC15, CTC18 e SP86-0042) em relação à infestação natural de D. saccharalis. O delineamento dos experimentos foi em blocos completos ao acaso, com quatro repetições. Não houve diferença entre os tratamentos para a intensidade de infestação, com médias de 1,2 a 8,7% de entrenós brocados. Maiores porcentagens de entrenós com podridão-vermelha foram observadas para CTC9, CTC2 e RB966928. Os cultivares CTC4 e RB92579 infestados com D. saccharalis resultaram em menor qualidade tecnológica, por causa da redução nos teores de brix, teor de sacarose aparente (POL) e pureza; e aumento dos açúcares redutores e, consequentemente, menor quantidade de açúcar teoricamente recuperável (ATR). Por outro lado, as menores produtividades (t de cana ha-1) foram observadas para CTC18, IACSP94-2094, IACSP94-2101 e RB966928. Portanto, de acordo com a análise hierárquica de agrupamento (UPGMA), os cultivares RB867515, CTC11, IAC91-1099, CTC15, SP86-0042, CTC2 e IACSP94-3046 mostraram-se resistentes a D. saccharalis.

ABSTRACT: The sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis (Fabr., 1794) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), is one of the main pests of sugarcane. This pest can reduce the quality and yield of the crop. Information on the quality and yield of cultivars in relation to the attack of sugarcane borer are necessary, since they guide the choice of the best materials for use in joint with other management tactics. Two field experiments were conducted in 2011 and 2012 to compare the quality and yield of 16 commercial sugarcane cultivars (IACSP93-3046, IACSP94-2094, IACSP94-2101, IAC91-1099, IACSP95-5000, IAC87-3396, RB92579, RB867515, RB966928, CTC2, CTC4, CTC9, CTC11, CTC15, CTC18 and SP86-0042) relative to the natural infestation of D. saccharalis. The experimental design was a randomized complete block with four replications. There was no difference between treatments for infestation index, with averages of 1.2 to 8.7% of bored internodes. Higher percentages of internodes with red rot were observed for CTC9, CTC2 and RB966928. The cultivars CTC4 and RB92579 infested with D. saccharalis resulted in lower technological quality, due the reduction in the contents of brix, apparent sucrose content (POL) and purity; and increase of the reducing sugars and, consequently, lower theoretically recoverable sugar (TRS). On the other hand, the lowest yields (t of cane ha-1) were observed for CTC18, IACSP94-2094, IACSP94-2101 and RB966928. Therefore, according to the hierarchical cluster analysis (UPGMA), the cultivars RB867515, CTC11, IAC91-1099, CTC15, SP86-0042, CTC2 and IACSP94-3046 were resistant to D. saccharalis.
