ABSTRACT: Skin grafting is a simple and very useful surgical technique for wound repair, especially where there is difficulty in performing direct synthesis or other reconstructive techniques. low-intensity laser (LIL) has already been used successfully in cases where the graft was applied to wounds shortly after its creation. However, LIL still lacks standardization due to conflicting studies on its results. Thus, this study compared the effectiveness of continuous wave LIL with pulsed wave LIL in stimulating the healing of skin grafts, applied to newly created wounds in rabbits. For this purpose, 31 rabbits were distributed into: control group (CG, n = 10), continuous wave laser group (GLC; n = 10) and pulsed wave laser group (GLP; n = 11). Postoperative management was similar between all groups, with the exception of laser application, as indicated by the group. The GLC and GLP groups showed similar evolution, with a satisfactory healing process of the graft, unlike the GC group. These results were maintained in the microscopic evaluation, as the groups treated with laser showed less inflammation, better integration with the receptor area, greater re-epithelialization and collagenization. There was no difference in vascular density between the treatment groups on immunohistochemical analysis. The newly created wound was not able to provide nutrition for the skin graft in rabbits, but LIL is an efficient adjuvant therapy in stimulating healing between the recipient area and the graft, promoting full integration. However; although, statistically there was no difference in the form of light emission, pulsed or continuous, patients who received continuous wave LIL showed superior microscopic evolution.

RESUMO: A enxertia cutânea é uma técnica cirúrgica simples e bastante útil para o reparo de feridas, principalmente, quando há dificuldade em realizar a síntese direta ou outras técnicas reconstrutivas. O laser de baixa intensidade (LBI) já foi utilizado com sucesso em casos em que o enxerto foi aplicado em feridas logo após a sua criação. No entanto, a LBI ainda carece de padronizações, mediante estudos conflitantes sobre seus resultados. Desta forma, este trabalho objetivou comparar a eficácia da LBI de onda contínua com onda pulsada na estimulação da cicatrização de enxertos cutâneos, aplicados em feridas recém-criadas em coelhos. Para tanto, foram utilizados 31 coelhos distribuídos em: grupo controle (GC, n = 10), grupo laser onda contínua (GLC; n = 10) e grupo laser onda pulsada (GLP; n = 11). O manejo pós operatório foi semelhante entre todos os grupos, com exceção da aplicação do laser, conforme o grupo indicado. Os grupos GLC e GLP apresentaram evolução semelhante, com processo cicatricial satisfatório do enxerto, ao contrário do grupo GC. Tais resultados se mantiveram na avaliação microscópica, pois os grupos tratados com laser apresentaram menor inflamação, melhor integração à área receptora, maior reepitelização e colagenização. Não houve diferença na densidade vascular entre os grupos de tratamento na análise imuno-histoquímica. A ferida recém-criada não é capaz de fornecer nutrição para o enxerto cutâneo nos coelhos, mas a LBI é uma terapia adjuvante eficiente em estimular a cicatrização entre a área receptora e o enxerto, promovendo integração total. Entretanto, embora não houve diferença estatística na forma de emissão de luz, pulsada ou contínua, os pacientes que receberam LBI em onda contínua apresentam evolução microscópica superior.

Reuse made by the separation of whey can reduce the waste of human milk. However, the authors are not aware of the literature on treatments in human whey, made available by pasteurization holder, freeze-drying, spray drying, and high hydrostatic pressure. In this context, the present study applied treatments to human whey and evaluated their lipid and immunological quality. Among the results, a different formation in the triacylglycerol profile was evidenced after the application of spray drying and high hydrostatic pressure, while pasteurization and freeze-drying presented ion intensity close to the control human whey. In addition, pasteurization proved to be adequate for lipid nutritional quality and transformation factor-β1 (TGF-β1) concentration, while an increase in interleukin-10 (IL-10) levels was promoted, between 73 and 80%, after freeze-drying, spray drying, and high hydrostatic pressure. Through the principal component analysis, it is noteworthy that the processes presented divergences in terms of the effects caused, with similarity only between pasteurization and freeze-drying in the composition of fatty acids. However, it was observed that all processes were able to maintain the nutrients. Nevertheless, it is relevant to consider individual characteristics presented and the interest in the desired quality, which can be promising as a complementary product to infant feeding.

RESUMEN Objetivo Estimar la prevalencia y analizar factores asociados a la inadecuada capacidad para el trabajo entre los agentes comunitarios de salud (ACSs). Métodos Estudio transversal realizado con ACS, de julio a octubre de 2018, en Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Brasil; se investigó la capacidad de trabajo y factores sociodemográficos, ocupacionales y clínicos; las razones de prevalencia (RP) con intervalos de confianza del 95% (IC95%) se calcularon mediante regresión de Poisson. Resultados De los 675 ACS, el 25,8 % (IC95% 22,7;29,2) presentó capacidad laboral inadecuada; tiempo de servicio superior a 5 años (RP = 1,64; IC95% 1,24;2,18), mal estado de salud (RP = 2,10; IC95% 1,56;2,83), síntomas depresivos (RP = 1,98; IC95% 1,54;2,55) y trastornos de la voz (RP = 1,85; IC95% 1,26;2,73) estaban relacionados con el evento. Conclusión Hubo alta prevalencia de capacidad inadecuada para el trabajo, asociada a factores laborales y clínicos.

RESUMO Objetivo Estimar a prevalência e analisar fatores associados à capacidade inadequada para o trabalho entre agentes comunitários de saúde (ACS). Métodos Estudo transversal realizado com ACS, no período de julho a outubro de 2018, em Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Brasil; foi investigada a capacidade para o trabalho, fatores sociodemográficos, laborais e clínicos; razões de prevalência (RPs) com intervalos de confiança de 95% (IC95%) foram calculadas por regressão de Poisson. Resultados Dos 675 ACS estudados, 25,8% (IC95% 22,7;29,2) apresentaram capacidade inadequada para o trabalho; tempo de serviço superior a cinco anos (RP = 1,64; IC95% 1,24;2,18), percepção do estado de saúde ruim (RP = 2,10; IC95% 1,56;2,83), sintomas depressivos (RP = 1,98; IC95% 1,54;2,55) e distúrbios da voz (RP = 1,85; IC95% 1,26;2,73) estiveram associados ao evento. Conclusão Houve prevalência elevada de capacidade inadequada para o trabalho, associada a fatores laborais e clínicos.

ABSTRACT Objective To estimate the prevalence and analyze factors associated with inadequate work ability among community health workers (CHWs). Methods This was a cross-sectional study conducted with CHWs, from July to October 2018, in Montes Claros, state of Minas Gerais, Brazil; work ability, sociodemographic, occupational, and clinical factors were investigated; prevalence ratios (PRs) with 95% confidence intervals (95%CI) were calculated using Poisson regression. Results Of the 675 CHWs, 25.8% (95%CI 22.7;29.2) showed inadequate work ability; length of service greater than five years (PR = 1.64; 95%CI 1.24;2.18), poor health status (PR = 2.10; 95%CI 1.56;2.83), depressive symptoms (PR = 1.98; 95%CI 1.54;2.55) and voice disorders (PR = 1.85; 95%CI 1.26;2.73) were associated with the event. Conclusion There was a high prevalence of inadequate work ability, associated with occupational and clinical factors.

Resumo Este estudo objetivou analisar a prevalência da autopercepção do estado de saúde e fatores associados em universitários do curso de Educação Física de uma instituição pública no Norte de Minas Gerais. Trata-se de um estudo observacional do tipo transversal, analítico, realizado no curso de Educação Física Bacharelado da Universidade Estadual de Montes Claros, localizada no norte de Minas Gerais. Utilizou-se um questionário contendo aspectos sociodemográficos, fatores comportamentais e clínicos. A variável desfecho referiu-se a percepção do estado de saúde por meio da questão “Em comparação com pessoas da sua idade, como você considera o seu estado de saúde?”. Os dados obtidos foram analisados após análises descritivas, bivariadas e multivariadas por meio do software estatístico Statistical Package for the Social Science. Participaram do estudo 132 universitários, a maioria homens 59.1%. A prevalência da autopercepção negativa do estado de saúde foi de 21.2%. Mantiveram associada ao desfecho presença de sobrepeso/obesidade (RP = 2.42; IC95% 1.30 - 4.49). E como fator protetor a prática de esportes individuais (RP =.33; IC95% .15 - 0.71). Conclui-se que a amostra investigada apresentou elevada prevalência de autopercepção negativa de saúde, mantendo-se associada ao sobrepeso/obesidade.

Abstract This study aimed to analyze the prevalence of self-perceived health status and associated factors in university students studying Physical Education at a public institution in northern Minas Gerais, Brazil. It was an observational, cross-sectional, analytical study carried out in the Bachelor’s Physical Education course at the State University of Montes Claros, located in northern Minas Gerais. A questionnaire containing sociodemographic, behavioral, and clinical factors was used. The outcome variable referred to the perception of health status through the question, “In comparison with people your age, how do you consider your health status?”. The data obtained were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences statistical software after descriptive, bivariate, and multivariate analyses. One hundred thirty-two university students participated in the study, of whom 59.1% were men. The prevalence of negative self-perception of health status was 21.2%. The presence of overweight/obesity remained associated with the outcome (PR = 2.42; 95% CI 1.30 - 4.49). Practicing individual sports acted as a protective factor (PR = .33; 95% CI .15 - .71). In conclusion, the investigated sample showed a high prevalence of negative self-perception of health remaining associated with overweight/obesity.

Abstract Sedentary behavior, intestinal constipation, and eating habits were examined concerning sociodemographic factors. A cross-sectional and analytical study was conducted with adolescents from municipal public schools in Montes Claros-MG, Brazil, through questionnaires investigating sociodemographic factors, pediatric gastrointestinal symptoms (Questionnaire Roma III), and eating habits (VIGITEL). Data were treated in the Statistical Package for Social Science program (version 22.0) through descriptive analysis of variables and the chi-square test. Of the 880 participants, the majority were female (51.93%) and aged between 13 and 19 (60.11%). A percentage of 16.7% exceeded 5 hours of sedentary behavior per day, and 15% were constipated. When comparing Sedentary Behavior with the sociodemographic profile, adolescent boys were more sedentary (p = .02), as were older adolescents (p = .01). In conclusion, there was a low prevalence of Sedentary Behavior, and the associations referred to sociodemographic factors. However, considering the studied population and the damage caused by sedentary behavior to the health of adolescents, these results are important to help in tracking this disorder.

Resumo Esse estudo teve por objetivo estimar a prevalência do Comportamento Sedentário e sua associação com fatores sociodemográficos, Constipação Intestinal e hábitos alimentares. Para tal, foi realizado um estudo transversal e analítico, desenvolvido com adolescentes do 6° ao 9° anos das escolas públicas municipais da cidade de Montes Claros-MG, Brasil. Foram utilizados questionários que abordavam fatores sociodemográficos, sintomas gastrointestinais pediátricos (Questionário Roma III) e hábitos alimentares (VIGITEL). Os dados foram tratados no programa Statistical Package for the Social Science versão 22.0 por meio de análise descritiva das variáveis e do teste qui-quadrado. Participaram 880 adolescentes. 16.7% ultrapassavam 5 horas diárias com adoção do Comportamento Sedentário, sendo a maior prevalência encontrada no sexo feminino (51.93%), e faixa etária de 13 a 19 anos (60.11%). 15% dos entrevistados eram constipados. Ao comparar o Comportamento Sedentário com o perfil sociodemográfico, percebe-se que os meninos adolescentes eram mais sedentários (p = .02) e aos adolescentes com maior idade (p = .01). Concluindo, verificou-se baixa prevalência de Comportamento Sedentário, e as associações referiram a fatores sociodemográficos. No entanto, considerando a população estudada e os prejuízos advindos do Comportamento Sedentário para a saúde dos adolescentes, esses resultados são importantes para auxiliar no rastreamento desse distúrbio.

Abstract This study aimed to verify the association between voice handicaps, physical inactivity, and job dissatisfaction among public school teachers in Minas Gerais, Brazil. An epidemiological, cross-sectional web survey study was performed to do this. The data compilation relevant to this survey was amassed between October 26 and December 31, 2021. A total of 1782 teachers participated in this study. The outcome variable used was the Voice Handicap Index 10 (VHI-10), which makes it possible to quantify the individual’s perception of vocal alteration. The higher the result, the greater the voice handicap perceived by the subject. In addition to sociodemographic and occupational aspects, physical activity was evaluated by the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) in its short form. The level of job satisfaction was expressed through the simple validated question: “Are you satisfied with your job?”. The multivariate statistical analysis was Poisson regression with robust variance. Voice handicap was present in 20.2% of the teachers and was associated with being female (PR = 1.32; CI95%: 1.03-1.70), teaching time (PR = 1.26; CI95%: 1.26-1.04), job dissatisfaction (PR = 1.96; CI95%: 1.59-2.42) and physical inactivity (PR = 1.24; CI95%: 1.00-1.52). The study was carried out at the beginning of the teachers’ return to in-school classes and found that a fifth reported a perception of voice handicap, pointing to the need for greater attention to the work environment and the importance of physical activity for voice health.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar a associação entre desvantagem vocal e variáveis inatividade física e insatisfação no trabalho entre professores da rede pública de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Trata-se de estudo epidemiológico, transversal do tipo websurvey. Participaram do estudo 1782 professores. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre 26 de outubro e 31 de dezembro de 2021. A variável desfecho foi o Índice de Desvantagem Vocal 10 (IDV-10) que possibilita quantificar a percepção do indivíduo sobre sua alteração vocal. Quanto maior o resultado, maior a desvantagem vocal percebida pelo sujeito. Além dos aspectos sociodemográficos e ocupacionais, foi avaliada a atividade física pelo Questionário Internacional de Atividade Física (IPAQ), em sua forma curta e a satisfação no trabalho por meio da pergunta já validada: “Você está satisfeito com o seu trabalho?”. A análise estatística multivariada foi a regressão de Poisson com variância robusta. A desvantagem vocal esteve presente em 20.2% dos professores e apresentou associação com o sexo feminino (RP = 1.32; IC95%: 1.03-1.70) o tempo de docência (RP = 1.26; IC95%: 1.26-1.04), a insatisfação no trabalho (RP = 1.96; IC95%: 1.59-2.42) e a inatividade física (RP = 1.24; IC95%: 1.00-1.52). No estudo realizado no início do retorno dos professores às aulas presenciais verificou que um quinto referiu percepção de desvantagem vocal apontando para a necessidade de maior atenção ao ambiente de trabalho e sobre a importância da atividade física para a saúde da voz.

ABSTRACT The large cattle production hubs in Brazil carry out the conduction of production through intensive grazing of pastures, promoting some degree of degradation. Agroforestry systems are considered a viable alternative for the recovery of degraded areas resulting from livestock production. However, the lack of knowledge about the benefits related this cultivation strategy may hinder the adoption of these systems. Thus, the objective was to interview four sectors of the society of São Félix do Xingu-PA to understand and verify the acceptance, contribution, knowledge, and desires for the implantation of a silvopastoral system in the region. For this research, questionnaires have been applied to different sectors of local society, higher-level academic sector, commerce sector represented by local entrepreneurs, the rural sector represented by farmers, and urban sector represented by members of the community in general. About the silvopastoral system, commerce had the highest percentage of ignorance (84.00%). To the benefits of the system, it found that there is a great lack of knowledge among citizens located in the urban area (88.89%). During actions carried out with urban systems, the questionnaires of the participating communities (96.33%) participated/reported were never published. As for the indication of the system, it was found that the sectors of commerce (100.00%), rural (82.61%), and academic (100.00%) are favorable to its implementation. Regarding the environmental benefits, the urban area (85.19%) wasn't known. And when talking about the highest economic returns from the system, respondents belonging to the commerce (84.00%) are unaware of these returns. It was concluded that most citizens are unaware of the system. It was suggested that more actions focused on the theme be carried out, making it possible to take this information to the population, so that the system is disseminated and implemented by farmers in the region.

RESUMO Os grandes polos de produção bovina no Brasil realizam a condução da produção, por meio do pastoreio intensivo das pastagens, promovendo algum grau de degradação. Os sistemas agroflorestais são considerados alternativa viável para a recuperação de áreas degradadas, decorrentes da produção de gado, no entanto, a falta de conhecimento sobre os benefícios relacionados a esta estratégia de cultivo pode dificultar a adoção destes sistemas. Assim, objetivou-se entrevistar quatro setores da sociedade de São Félix do Xingu-PA para compreender e constatar a aceitação, contribuição, conhecimento e anseios para a implantação de sistema silvipastoril na região. Para esta pesquisa, aplicaram-se questionários em diferentes setores da sociedade local, setor acadêmico de nível superior, setor de comércio representado pelos empresários locais, setor da zona rural representado pelos agricultores e setor da zona urbana representado por membros da comunidade em geral. Sobre o sistema silvipastoril, o comércio apresentou maior porcentagem de desconhecimento (84,00%). Em relação aos benefícios do sistema, constatou-se que há um desconhecimento maior dos munícipes situados na zona urbana (88,89%). Ao questionar sobre ações realizadas com os sistemas silvipastoris, constatou-se que os munícipes da zona urbana (96,30%) nunca participaram das mesmas. Quanto à indicação do sistema, constatou que os setores do comércio (100,00%), zona rural (82,61%) e acadêmico (100,00%) são favoráveis à sua implantação. Sobre os benefícios ambientais, a zona urbana (85,19%) apresentou desconhecimento. E ao falar dos maiores retornos econômicos advindos do sistema, os entrevistados pertencentes ao comércio (84,00%) desconhecem esses retornos. Conclui-se que a maioria dos munícipes desconhecem o sistema, com isso, sugere-se que mais ações voltadas ao tema sejam realizadas, possibilitando levar essas informações à população, para que o sistema seja mais difundido e implantado pelos agricultores da região.

Resumo O Agente Comunitário de Saúde (ACS) compõe a equipe de atenção primária e o caráter do seu trabalho pode representar risco para surgimento de morbidades. O objetivo do presente estudo foi analisar os fatores associados ao estilo de vida em ACS no Município de Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Brasil. Trata-se de um estudo transversal, analítico e censitário. Foram utilizados instrumentos autoaplicáveis, contemplando fatores sociodemográficos, laborais, comportamentais, clínicos e o Questionário de Estilo de Vida Fantástico. Participaram do estudo 675 ACS, com média de idade 36.7±9.8. Cerca de 10% apresentaram estilo de vida regular. Observou-se uma baixa prevalência do estilo de vida regular entre ACS. Após a análise multivariada o estilo de vida regular manteve-se associado ao Índice de Capacidade para o Trabalho (ICT) inadequado (OR = 2.25; IC95: 1.30 - 3.91), a pior percepção do estado de saúde (OR = 2.66; IC95: 1.46 - 4.84). Os ACS que apresentaram Índice de Massa Corporal (IMC) alterado tiveram maiores chances de apresentar estilo de vida regular (OR = 2.33; IC95: 1.20 - 4.52). Observou-se neste estudo que fatores laborais e clínicos influenciam no estilo de vida dos ACS. Esses achados são relevantes, à medida que colocam em perspectiva elementos importantes que impactam a saúde dos ACS e que podem ser modificados através da implantação de programas de saúde ocupacional.

Abstract The Community Health Agent (CHW) is part of the primary care team, and the nature of their work can represent a risk for the emergence of morbidities. The present study aimed to analyze the factors associated with lifestyle in CHW in the Municipality of Montes Claros, Minas Gerais, Brazil. This is a cross-sectional, analytical, and census study. Self-administered instruments were used, contemplating sociodemographic, work, behavioral and clinical factors and the Fantastic Lifestyle Questionnaire. A total of 675 CHW participated in the study, with a mean age of 36.7±9.8. About 10% had a regular lifestyle. A low prevalence of a regular lifestyle was observed among CHW. After the multivariate analysis, the regular lifestyle remained associated with the inadequate Work Ability Index (WAI) (OR = 2.25; 95%CI: 1.30 - 3.91), the worst perception of health status (OR = 2.66; 95%CI: 1.46 - 4.84). CHWs who presented altered Body Mass Index (BMI) were more likely to have a regular lifestyle (OR = 2.33; 95%CI: 1.20 - 4.52). It was observed in this study that work and clinical factors influence the lifestyle of CHAs. These findings are relevant, as they put into perspective important elements that impact the health of CHAs and that can be modified by implementing occupational health programs.

The composition of human milk (HM) includes changes under the influence of factors such as genetics, stage of lactation, time of day, and even breastfeeding time. However, the authors are not aware of studies that evaluated the influence of breastfeeding time on fatty acid composition and cytokine. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of breastfeeding time (previous, intermediate, posterior milk) on kilocalorie concentration, fatty acid (FA) composition, and concentration of the cytokines interleukin-10 (IL-10), interferon factors for necrotic tumor (TNF-α) in HM colostrum. The results showed that the concentration of kilocalories was higher in posterior milk than in the previous, the composition of the main fatty acids found in the samples was influenced by the breastfeeding time, and the concentration of IL-10 and TNF-α was influenced in all samples with exception to mother 2. The principal component analysis explained 71% of the variances in the results. Thus, we concluded that the breastfeeding time is a factor that influences the concentration of kilocalories, and if it is necessary to use a more caloric milk, it is recommended to use the posterior milk; the FAs composition and the evaluated cytokines were also influenced by the breastfeeding time.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of pasteurization, lyophilization and spray-drying on the lipid profile of donated human milk (DHM) at different lactation stages. Nine frozen samples of colostrum, transitional and raw mature human milk (HM) were collected from the Human Milk Bank (HMB) of the Hospital Universitário de Maringá (HUM). Samples were thawed and pooled according to lactation stage. Thereafter, it was submitted to pasteurization, lyophilization and spray-drying processes and later the fatty acid (FA) composition and the lipid profile analyses were performed. Gas chromatograph (GC) with flame ionization detector (FID) and electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectrometer (MS) were used, respectively. In the FA composition analysis, it was observed that the same classes of saturated FA (SFA), monounsaturated FA (MUFA) and polyunsaturated FA (PUFA) were preserved throughout the process and in all lactation stages. The lipid profiles were also preserved after processing. Therefore, the lyophilization and spray-drying processes are promising techniques to preserve the DHM in the HMB, once the components evaluated were preserved, and both techniques facilitate the transport and storage, as the techniques reduce the sample volume.

ABSTRACT The use of echocardiography by physicians who are not echocardiographers has become common throughout the world across highly diverse settings where the care of acutely ill patients is provided. Echocardiographic evaluation performed in a point-of-care manner can provide relevant information regarding the mechanism of causes of shock, for example, increasing the rates of correct diagnosis and allowing for faster informed decision-making than through evaluation methods. Considering that the accurate diagnosis of life-threatening situations is essential for professionals working with acutely ill patients, several international associations recommend that physicians responsible for critically ill patients acquire and develop the ability to perform bedside ultrasound examinations, including echocardiographic examinations. However, there is no consensus in the literature regarding which specific applications should be included in the list of skills for nonechocardiographer physicians. Taking into account the multiplicity of applications of echocardiography in different scenarios related to acutely ill patients; the differences in the published protocols, with regard to both the teaching methodology and competence verification; and the heterogeneity of training among highly diverse specialties responsible for their care at different levels, this consensus document aimed to reflect the position of representatives of related Brazilian medical societies on the subject and may thus serve as a starting point both for standardization among different specialties and for the transmission of knowledge and verification of the corresponding competencies.

RESUMO O emprego da ecocardiografia por médicos não ecocardiografistas tem se tornado comum em todo o mundo nos mais diversos ambientes em que se dá o cuidado do paciente agudamente doente. A avaliação ecocardiográfica realizada de forma point-of-care pode fornecer informações pertinentes em relação ao mecanismo das causas de choque, por exemplo, incrementando as taxas de diagnóstico correto e possibilitando a tomada de decisão fundamentada de forma mais rápida do que por meio dos métodos tradicionais de avaliação. Considerando que o diagnóstico preciso de situações ameaçadoras à vida é indispensável a profissionais atuando junto a pacientes agudamente enfermos, diversas entidades associativas internacionais recomendam que médicos responsáveis por pacientes gravemente doentes devam adquirir e desenvolver a habilidade para realizar exames ultrassonográficos à beira do leito, inclusive ecocardiográficos. Entretanto, não há consenso na literatura acerca de quais aplicações específicas devam compor o rol de habilidades do médico não ecocardiografista. Levando-se em consideração a multiplicidade de aplicações da ecocardiografia em diversos cenários relativos ao paciente agudamente enfermo; as diferenças nos protocolos publicados, tanto no que diz respeito à metodologia de ensino como de verificação de competências, bem como a heterogeneidade da formação entre as mais diversas especialidades responsáveis pelo seu cuidado em diferentes níveis, este documento de consenso teve o objetivo de refletir o posicionamento de representantes de sociedades médicas brasileiras afins acerca do tema, podendo, assim, servir de ponto de partida para a uniformização entre diferentes especialidades, bem como para a transmissão de conhecimento e a verificação das competências correspondentes.

RESUMO Objetivo: Comparar o desempenho de indicadores antropométricos para identificar o excesso de gordura corporal (GC) em adolescentes. Métodos: Estudo metodológico com amostragem probabilística por conglomerados, por sorteio das escolas e turmas. A coleta de dados incluiu características sociodemográficas e medidas antropométricas. O índice de massa corporal (IMC), a relação cintura-estatura (RCE), o índice de conicidade (IC) e a circunferência da cintura (CC) foram calculados. O percentual de gordura corporal (%GC) foi calculado com base na espessura das dobras cutâneas e utilizado como padrão-ouro. Para analisar os dados, foram utilizadas estatísticas descritivas, teste t de Student, curva Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) e índice de Youden. Foi calculado o coeficiente de correlação entre os indicadores e o %GC. Resultados: Participaram do estudo 997 adolescentes de escolas municipais. Identificou-se, pelo IMC, que 10,6% dos adolescentes apresentavam sobrepeso e 4,7%, obesidade. O IMC, a CC e a RCE apresentaram a maior acurácia para predizer a gordura corporal. Todos os indicadores antropométricos apresentaram especificidade superior à sensibilidade para diagnosticar excesso de GC no sexo masculino. A CC apresentou a maior sensibilidade em ambos os sexos. O IC apresentou a menor área sob a curva ROC e a menor sensibilidade em ambos os sexos, mas especificidade equivalente aos demais indicadores. Conclusões: IMC, RCE e CC apresentaram a melhor capacidade de predizer excesso de GC em adolescentes e os melhores coeficientes de correlação. Essas ferramentas podem ser consideradas formas de rastreamento na identificação do excesso de GC em adolescentes.

Abstract Objective: To compare the performance of anthropometric indicators that identify excess body fat (BF) in adolescents. Methods: This is a methodological study that used probability cluster sampling through school and class draws. Data collection included sociodemographic characteristics and anthropometric measures. Body mass index (BMI), waist-to-height ratio (WtHR), conicity index (C index), and waist circumference (WC) were calculated. Body fat percentage (BF%) was calculated from skinfold thickness and used as the gold standard. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics, Student’s t-test, Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve, and Youden’s index were used, in addition to correlation coefficient calculation between the indicators and BF%. Results: A total of 997 adolescents enrolled in municipal secondary schools participated in the study. By calculating the BMI, we found that 10.6% of adolescents were overweight, and 4.7% were obese. BMI, WC, and WtHR had the highest accuracy to predict body fatness. All the anthropometric indicators had higher specificity than sensitivity to diagnose excess BF in males. WC had the highest sensitivity in both genders. C index had the smallest area under the ROC curve and the lowest sensitivity in both genders, but its specificity was equivalent to that of the other indicators. Conclusions: BMI, WtHR, and WC were the best anthropometric indicators to predict excess BF in adolescents and had the best correlation coefficients. These tools can be considered in the screening to detect excess BF in adolescents.

ABSTRACT Determining the bioactivity of essential oils extracted from plants is crucial for the development of alternatives for controlling insect pests in stored grains. This study aimed to investigate the bioactivity of Piper aduncum L. essential oil for the control of Sitophilus zeamais (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), Sitophilus oryzae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) and Cryptolestes ferrugineus (Coleoptera: Cucujidae). Bioassays were conducted to determine the oil toxicity, sublethal effects, attractiveness and flight initiation behavior. Toxicity tests were carried out to determine the lethal concentrations for 50 and 95 % of the insects (LC50 and LC95). Tests were also performed with sublethal exposures to C. ferrurineus, S. oryzae and S. zeamais, using their respective LC5 values (0.0002, 0.097 and 0.11 µL cm-2), to investigate effects on the attraction or repellency activity, as well as flight tests. C. ferrugineus showed greater LC50 (0.0005 µL cm-2) and LC95 (0.0012 µL cm-2) susceptibility, in relation to S. oryzae LC50 (0.35 µL cm-2) and LC95 (1.26 µL cm-2), and S. zeamais LC50 (0.39 µL cm-2) and LC95 (1.40 µL cm-2). The exposure to the sublethal LC5 concentration influenced the behavioral responses of attractiveness/repellency and flight activity. The oil had a neutral effect on C. ferrugineus LC5 (0.0002 µL cm-2) and an attractive effect on S. oryzae and S. zeamais LC5 (0.097 and 0.11 µL cm-2), and can be considered a potential insecticide for controlling pest weevil species of stored grains.

RESUMO Determinar a bioatividade de óleos essenciais extraídos de plantas é primordial para o desenvolvimento de alternativas de controle de insetos-praga em grãos armazenados. Objetivou-se investigar a bioatividade do óleo essencial de Piper aduncum L. para o controle de Sitophilus zeamais (Coleoptera: Curculionidae), Sitophilus oryzae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) e Cryptolestes ferrugineus (Coleoptera: Cucujidae). Foram realizados bioensaios para determinar a toxicidade do óleo, efeitos subletais, comportamento de atratividade e iniciação de voo. Testes de toxicidade foram realizados, determinando-se as concentrações letais para 50 e 95 % dos insetos (CL50 e CL95). Também foram realizados testes com exposições subletais para C. ferrurineus, S. oryzae e S. zeamais, utilizando-se as suas respectivas CL5 (0,0002; 0,097; e 0,11 µL cm-2), para averiguar efeitos na atividade de atração ou repelência, e testes de voo. C. ferrugineus apresentou maior susceptibilidade CL50 (0,0005 µL cm-2) e CL95 (0,0012 µL cm-2), em relação a S. oryzae CL50 (0,35 µL cm-2) e CL95 (1,26 µL cm-2) e S. zeamais CL50 (0,39 µL cm-2) e CL95 (1,40 µL cm-2). A exposição à concentração subletal CL5 influenciou nas respostas comportamentais de atratividade/repelência e atividade de voo das espécies. O óleo apresentou efeito neutro para C. ferrugineus CL5 (0,0002 µL cm-2) e atrativo para S. oryzae e S. zeamais CL5 (0,097 e 0,11 µL cm-2), podendo ser considerado potencial inseticida para o controle de espécies de gorgulhos-praga de grãos armazenados.

ABSTRACT The application of burndown herbicides to crambe crops is important for production of quality seeds. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of burndown herbicides applied at pre-harvest, using different spray volumes, on seed yield and quality of crambe plants (Crambe abyssinica cv. FMS Brilhante). A randomized block experimental design was used, with four replications, in a 2 × 5 factorial arrangement consisted of two burndown herbicides [glyphosate (Roundup Original 360 g L-1) and diquat (Reglone 200 g L-1)] and five spray volumes (0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0 L ha-1). The burndown herbicides were applied at 74 days after sowing, when the plants presented 80% brown seeds, based on visual evaluation of the seed maturation stage. After harvest, the seeds were processed and evaluated for water content, one-thousand seed weight, seed yield, oil contents, germination, and vigor (first germination counting, emergence speed index, accelerated aging, and electrical conductivity). The pre-harvest desiccation of crambe with the herbicide diquat, using spray volumes between 1.3 and 1.5 L ha-1, resulted in seeds with better physiological quality. The seed vigor was low when using desiccation of plants with glyphosate. The crop yield was not affected by the herbicides nor by the different spray volumes.

RESUMO A aplicação de herbicidas dessecantes na cultura do crambe é importante para produção de sementes de qualidade. Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito de herbicidas dessecantes e diferentes volumes de calda aplicadas em plantas de crambe, cultivar FMS Brilhante, na fase de pré-colheita sobre a produtividade e qualidade de sementes. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 2 x 5, sendo dois herbicidas dessecantes (Glyphosate – Roundup Original 360 g L-1 e Diquat – Reglone 200 g L-1) e cinco volumes de calda (0,0; 0,5; 1,0; 1,5; e 2,0 L ha-1), com quatro repetições. A aplicação dos dessecantes ocorreu aos 74 dias após a semeadura, baseada no estádio de maturação das sementes, verificado a partir da observação visual da porcentagem de sementes marrons (80%). Após a colheita, as sementes foram beneficiadas e avaliadas quanto ao teor de água, peso de mil sementes, produtividade, teor de óleo, germinação e vigor (primeira contagem de germinação, índice de velocidade de emergência, envelhecimento acelerado e condutividade elétrica). A dessecação na fase de pré-colheita das plantas de crambe com o herbicida Diquat, nos volumes de calda entre 1,3 e 1,5 L ha-1, proporcionou sementes de melhor qualidade fisiológica. O vigor das sementes foi reduzido pela dessecação das plantas com Glyphosate. A produtividade da cultura não foi afetada pelos herbicidas e nem pelos diferentes volumes de calda.

In this work, iron chloride (FeCl3.6H2O), a single reagent, was used to create the phases of hematite (α-Fe2O3) and akaganeite (β-FeOOH) without the need of organic solvents using the microwave-assisted hydrothermal technique (HM). X-ray diffraction demonstrated the efficacy of the HM technique in the generation of crystalline phases of α-Fe2O3 at 180oC and β-FeOOH at 120oC. The development of pseudo-cunic and stick-like particles was a result of changes in experimental variables, which also had a substantial impact on the materials structural characteristics. The nitrogen (N2) adsorption/desorption isotherms of the samples containing akaganeite and hematite phase resembled those of mesoporous materials. Hematite has a surface area of 25.44 m2 g-1, while akaganeite has a surface area of 110.60 m2 g-1, according to the calculation. Thermodifferential and thermogravimetric techniques were used to assess thermal degradation. The use of microwave hydrothermal synthesis was promoted as being quick, easy, affordable, and safe for the environment.
