Connaraceae is a plant family usually used in traditional medicine. Recently, we have reported the chemical composition and biological activity of 39 species around the world. This work highlights the application of these species to diabetes control, which has been reported at least to half of this family. In this line, there are several species of the Connaraceae without scientific evidence of traditional use, among these the four species study here. Thus, this work aims the chemical composition prospection of Connarus blanchetii, Connarus regnellii, Connarus suberosus and Rourea glazioui, as well as the identification of possible bioactivity. The leaves of these four species were collected, prepared and submitted to different extractive methods (aqueous decoction and infusion and ethanolic maceration), these being tested in a preliminary phytochemical investigation and subjected to antioxidant assay with 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl and ferric reducing antioxidant power. Then, we selected the maceration extract to continue for fractions, with the ethyl acetate and n-butanol presenting the best results with antioxidant and anti-advanced glycation end products (AGEs) activity potential. Finally, the chemical composition was determinate by high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) in combination with Global Natural Products Service (GNPS) data bank. As a result, this study indicated the presence of 29 phenolics compounds with reported activity as antioxidant and with potential of protein glycation, supported the diabetes activity of this plants. The n-butanolic fraction of R. glazioui showed compounds such as apigenin, kaempferol, quercetin, myricetin and chlorogenic acid, which have generated a half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of 36.5 µg mL 1 for oxidative glycation inhibition, being highlighted as the most active.

RESUMO Apoiada no movimento de redemocratização e da Reforma Sanitária, a Reforma Psiquiátrica constituiu a base para o modelo utilizado em serviços substitutivos, como o Centro de Atenção Psicossocial (Caps), um dispositivo de promoção de saúde mental. Por seus objetivos e funções, viu-se a possibilidade de relacionar o Caps com o conceito de espaço potencial de Winnicott, definido como uma área intermediária entre as realidades psíquica e compartilhada, na qual se pode ser criativo ao invés de somente adaptado. Procurou-se investigar se o Caps possui características de um espaço potencial no sentido winnicottiano. A pesquisa adotou a abordagem qualitativa, caracterizada como uma pesquisa em psicanálise, trabalhando com dados secundários. Selecionaram-se 14 trabalhos, incluindo dissertações, teses e artigos científicos publicados nos últimos dez anos. Na análise dos dados, procurou-se detectar a presença de condições do espaço potencial, como o holding, o handling e a apresentação de objetos, em atividades ou aspectos do funcionamento do Caps, como o acolhimento, o dispositivo Técnico de Referência, a provisão ambiental e o suporte institucional. Por fim, concluiu-se que, apesar de haver fatores que limitam a potencialidade do serviço, o manejo dos profissionais e a ambiência oferecem condições de o Caps operar como um espaço potencial.

ABSTRACT Supported by the redemocratization movement and the Health Reform, the Psychiatric Reform constituted the basis for the model used in substitute services, like the Psychosocial Care Center (CAPS), a device for the promotion of mental health. Due to its objectives and functions, we saw the possibility of relating CAPS with Winnicott’s concept of potential space, an intermediate area between psychic and shared realities, where one can be creative, not just adapted. We tried to investigate whether the CAPS has characteristics of a potential space in the Winnicottian sense. The research adopted a qualitative approach and was characterized as a research in psychoanalysis, working with secondary data. 14 works were selected, including dissertations, theses, and scientific articles from the last ten years. In analyzing the data, we sought to detect the presence of conditions in the potential space, like the holding, handling, and presentation of objects, in activities or aspects of the functioning of the CAPS, such as reception, the Technical Reference device, environmental provision, and the institutional support. Finally, we concluded that, although there are factors that limit the potential of the service, the management of professionals and the ambience offer conditions for the CAPS to operate as a potential space.

Resumen: El objetivo de este estudio fue verificar la evidencia de validez de la versión reducida adaptada al portugués brasileño del Traumatic Grief Inventory (Inventario de Duelo Traumático), mediante un análisis factorial confirmatorio y la relación con variables externas, además de evaluar la precisión y presencia de invarianza. El primer paso fue la adaptación y evaluación por jueces expertos de la versión traducida. Después de la evaluación, se aplicó la versión piloto a cinco participantes de la población objetivo para la evaluación semántica y de contenido, denominándose Inventario de Luto Traumático (ILT-BR). Luego, 211 brasileños, que pasaron por un proceso de duelo, respondieron los siguientes instrumentos: Cuestionario Sociodemográfico, Cuestionario de Autopercepción de Salud Mental e ILT-BR. El ILT-BR mostró buenos índices de ajuste y precisión, correlacionándose positivamente con el estrés, el miedo y los pensamientos obsesivos, sin encontrar variación entre grupos. A partir de estos resultados, se concluye que el ILT-BR posee propiedades psicométricas adecuadas para su uso en Brasil.

Abstract: The aim of the this study was to verify the evidence of validity of the reduced version adapted for Brazilian Portuguese of the Traumatic Grief Inventory, through confirmatory factor analysis and relationship with external variables, in addition to assessing the reliability and presence of invariance. The first step consisted of the adaptation and evaluation by expert judges of the translated version. After the evaluation, the pilot version was answered by five participants of the target population, for semantic and content evaluation, being named, in Brazil, as the Inventário de Luto Traumático (ILT-BR). Then, 211 Brazilians, who went through a grieving process, answered the following instruments: Sociodemographic Questionnaire, Mental Health Self-Perception Questionnaire, and ILT-BR. The ILT-BR presented good fit indexes and reliability, positively correlated with stress, fear, and obsessive thoughts, with no invariance found. From these results, we concluded that the ILT-BR is suitable for use in Brazil.

Objectives: Past suicide attempt (SA) is one of the most important risk factors for suicide death. An ideation-to-action framework posits that impulsivity, potentially traumatic events, and mental disorders also play a role in increasing suicide risk. This study aimed to assess the association between trait impulsivity, lifetime exposure to trauma, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with SA in a sample of Brazilian college students. Methods: A total of 2,137 participants filled self-reported questionnaires consisting of a sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire, Trauma History Questionnaire, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Checklist – Civilian version, and Barratt Impulsiveness Scale. Results: Our findings suggest that trait impulsivity may be interpreted as exerting a distal effect on SA, even in the presence of other variables – such as trauma history, psychological neglect, and PTSD – which also increase the odds of SA. High and medium levels of impulsivity, history of trauma, and PTSD increased the likelihood of SA. Conclusions: Intervention strategies to prevent SA may target trait impulsivity and exposure to traumatic experiences.

ABSTRACT This prospective study describes the use of Gene-Xpert Ultra for the diagnosis of extrapulmonary tuberculosis (EPTB) in children and adolescents, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Eighteen patients were studied; the final diagnosis of EPTB was established in 13 (72%). Gene-Xpert Ultra results showed detection in 10/13 (77%) of EPTB cases (7 of these 10 with trace-positive results). Gene-Xpert Ultra proved to be a promising method for the diagnosis of childhood EPTB.

ABSTRACT Corpses in Brazil are commonly hidden in sugarcane plantations in the attempt to delay their finding and hinder the solution of the crime. On the other hand, these plantations are regularly sprayed with insecticides for pest control. Until now no study has reported the effects of insecticides on ant fauna. This study aimed to test the hypothesis that if a body hidden in a monoculture is accidentally contaminated by an insecticide, both the carcass decomposition pattern and the Formicidae fauna will be affected. To accomplish this, pig carcasses contaminated and non-contaminated were placed in a sugarcane monoculture environment and subsequently examined for data collection every 24 hours. The concentration used to contaminate the carcasses was 20 grams per liter of thiamethoxam. The decomposition patterns of contaminated carcasses were changed, in turn affecting the behavior of Formicidae fauna. A total of 5318 ants were collected, 3397 in contaminated carcasses and 1919 in non-contaminated carcasses, and 30 species of 11 genera were identified. According to the analysis, there are no differences between the composition of species between contaminated and non-contaminated carcasses, however, a significant difference was observed in the composition of species along the stages of decomposition between the two types of carcasses. Therefore, our hypothesis has been confirmed, contaminated carcasses undergo changes in their normal pattern of decomposition and the fauna of ants that act on them. As this group of insects has great importance for forensic sciences, the analysis of the experts should take these results into account.

Resumo O presente artigo oferece uma perspectiva sobre o turismo no Brasil, analisando os principais desdobramentos com foco no período de 2000-2019. Trata-se de um artigo de opinião com reflexões de acadêmicos do turismo brasileiro. Os tópicos relacionados ao turismo, cobertos neste artigo, incluem economia, política e planejamento, marketing, transporte, meio ambiente, gastronomia, hospitalidade, lazer, entre outros. Como principal conclusão, considera-se que o Brasil não conseguiu se posicionar como destino de renome internacional, já que desde a década de 1990 os esforços para apoiar o desenvolvimento do turismo regional obtiveram sucesso apenas moderado. As crises econômicas, a instabilidade política, a violência e a corrupção foram entraves que afetaram consideravelmente o setor de turismo. A falta de uma abordagem coordenada entre os vários níveis de governo, a escassez de dados de turismo e uma campanha de marketing supra-governamental de longo prazo, entre outros fatores, fizeram com que o país perdesse várias oportunidades importantes na década de 2010 para se estabelecer como um dos principais destinos turísticos no mercado global.

Abstract This article provides a perspective on tourism in Brazil, analyzing the main developments focusing on the period 2000-2019. This opinion paper provides a reflection made by academics with expertise in tourism in Brazil. Tourism-related topics covered in this paper include economics, politics and planning, marketing, transportation, environment, gastronomy, hospitality, leisure, among others. As the main conclusion, it is argued that Brazil has not managed to position itself as an internationally renowned destination. The efforts in the 1990s to support the development of regional tourism have had only moderate success. Economic crises, political instability, violence and corruption were obstacles that considerably affected the tourism sector. The lack of a coordinated approach between the various levels of government, the shortage of tourism data and a long-term supra-governmental marketing campaign, among other factors, meant that the country missed several opportunities in the 2010s to become established as one of the top tourist destinations in the global market.

Resumen El artículo ofrece una perspectiva del turismo en Brasil, analizando los principales desarrollos con un enfoque en el período 2000-2019. Es un artículo de opinión con reflexiones de investigadores del turismo brasileño. Los temas relacionados con el turismo que se tratan en este artículo incluyen economía, política y planificación, marketing, transporte, medio ambiente, gastronomía, hostelería, ocio, entre otros. Como conclusión principal, se considera que Brasil no ha logrado posicionarse como un destino de renombre internacional, ya que desde la década de los noventa los esfuerzos para apoyar el desarrollo del turismo regional solo han tenido un éxito moderado. Las crisis económicas, la inestabilidad política, la violencia y la corrupción fueron obstáculos que afectaron considerablemente al sector turístico. La falta de un enfoque coordinado entre los distintos niveles de gobierno, la escasez de datos turísticos y una campaña de marketing supra gubernamental a largo plazo, entre otros factores, hicieron que el país perdiera varias oportunidades importantes en la década de 2010 para establecerse como uno de los principales destinos turísticos del mercado mundial.

ABSTRACT. The aim of this study was to assess the effect of increasing periods of coexistence of weed plants with Urochloa ruziziensis on the canopy structure and productivity of a pasture already established with this forage species. The experiment was a randomized blocks design with four replications, and treatments consisted of seven increasing periods of coexistence of forage grass with weed plants: 0 (control), 15, 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 days after regrowth (DAR). The main morpho-structural and productive characteristics of the forage plants were determined at the end of the experimental period (90 DAR). The ratio of the first green leaf height to the tiller height increases, while the leaf to stem ratio diminishes as the period of interaction with the infesting community increases. The number of green leaves per tiller and the tiller height diminishes as the period of coexistence with weed plants increases. The presence of weed plants interferes negatively with all parameters of the grass canopy structure and productivity of a grazing land already established with Urochloa ruziziensis, suggesting that measures of control of the infesting community should be adopted up to 17 days of regrowth of the forage plant.

Resumo Objetivo Identificar a prevalência de complicações intradialíticas em pacientes com injúria renal aguda (IRA) na unidade de terapia intensiva (UTI) e seus fatores associados; verificar quais foram as condutas profissionais imediatas adotadas pela equipe. Métodos Estudo retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa, realizado na UTI de um hospital universitário e público, localizado na região sul do Brasil. Foram incluídos neste estudo todos os pacientes internados na UTI com diagnóstico médico de IRA dialítica entre janeiro de 2011 e dezembro de 2016. Realizou-se coleta de dados contidos em prontuários. Considerou-se como estatisticamente significativo p-valor < 0,05. Resultados Foram incluídos 76 pacientes, sendo a maioria com idade entre 41 e 65 anos (n= 44; 57,9%). Todos realizaram hemodiálise intermitente. Do total de pacientes, 71 (93,4%) apresentaram complicações durante a hemodiálise, sendo hipotensão intradialítica a complicação mais prevalente, acometendo 51 (71,8%) pacientes. A conduta profissional imediata mais frequente para a referida complicação foi instalação e/ou controle da infusão do medicamento vasoativo (100% dos casos). Idade, ventilação mecânica, IRA relacionada à sepse, número e tempo de duração (horas) das sessões dialíticas, bem como o momento de início da diálise foram significativamente associados à frequência das complicações intradialíticas. Conclusão Os pacientes apresentaram alta prevalência de complicações intradialíticas, sendo que as condutas profissionais imediatas mais frequentes objetivaram reverter hipotensão intradialítica e foram realizadas majoritariamente pela equipe de enfermagem. Os fatores associados às complicações estiveram relacionados à gravidade dos pacientes no início da diálise.

Abstract Objective To identify the prevalence of intradialytic complications in patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and their associated factors and verify what were the immediate professional behaviors adopted by the team. Methods This is a quantitative retrospective study, carried out in the ICU of a university and public hospital, located in southern Brazil. All patients admitted to an ICU with a medical diagnosis of dialysis AKI between January 2011 and December 2016 were included in this study. Data were collected from medical records. A statistical difference with a p-value < 0.05 was considered significant. Results A total of 76 patients were included, the majority aged between 41 and 65 years (n=44; 57.9%). All underwent intermittent hemodialysis. Of the total number of patients, 71 (93.4%) had complications during hemodialysis, with intradialytic hypotension being the most prevalent complication, affecting 51 (71.8%) patients. The most frequent immediate professional conduct for this complication was installation and/or control of vasoactive drug infusion (100% of cases). Age, mechanical ventilation, sepsis-related AKI, number and duration (hours) of dialysis sessions, as well as the time of starting dialysis were significantly associated with the frequency of intradialytic complications. Conclusion Patients had a high prevalence of intradialytic complications, and the most frequent immediate professional procedures aimed at reversing intradialytic hypotension and were performed mainly by the nursing team. Factors associated with complications were related to the severity of patients at the beginning of dialysis.

Métodos Estudio retrospectivo, con abordaje cuantitativo, realizado en la UCI de un hospital universitario y público, ubicado en la región sur de Brasil. Se incluyeron en este estudio todos los pacientes ingresados a la UCI con diagnóstico médico de IRA dialítica entre enero de 2011 y diciembre de 2016. Se realizó la recopilación de datos de los prontuarios. Considerados estadísticamente significante p-valor < 0,05. Resultados Se incluyeron 76 pacientes, en su mayoría con edades entre 41 y 65 años (n= 44; 57,9 %). Todos realizaron hemodiálisis intermitente. Del total de pacientes, 71 (93,4 %) presentaron complicaciones durante la hemodiálisis, con hipotensión intradialítica como la complicación más prevalente, acometiendo a 51 (71,8 %) pacientes. La conducta profesional inmediata más frecuente para la referida complicación fue la instalación o el control de la infusión del medicamento vasoactivo (100 % de los casos). Edad, ventilación mecánica, IRA relacionada a la sepsis, número y tiempo de duración (horas) de las sesiones dialíticas, así como el momento de inicio de la diálisis estuvieron significativamente asociados con la frecuencia de las complicaciones intradialíticas. Conclusión Los pacientes presentaron alta prevalencia de complicaciones intradialíticas y las conductas profesionales inmediatas más frecuentes tuvieron el objetivo de revertir la hipotensión intradialítica y se realizaron mayoritariamente por el equipo de enfermería. Los factores asociados a las complicaciones se relacionaron con la gravedad de los pacientes al inicio de la diálisis.

RESUMO Introdução: Alterações na taxa de desenvolvimento de torque (TDT) e arquitetura muscular causadas pela fadiga são temas pouco investigados. Esta pesquisa avaliou o efeito da fadiga na TDT e arquitetura muscular do vasto lateral (VL). Métodos: Dezessete voluntários (25,5 ± 6,2 anos; 177,2 ± 12,9 cm; 76,4 ± 13,1 kg) realizaram avaliação isocinética de extensão do joelho em 30º/s para obtenção do pico de torque (PT-ISK) antes e após uma série de contrações voluntárias isométricas máximas (CVIM) intermitentes (15 reps - 3 s contração, 3 s intervalo) utilizadas para causar fadiga muscular, monitoradas pela frequência mediana (FMD) da eletromiografia do VL, reto femoral e vasto medial. Antes e após o protocolo de fadiga, imagens de ultrassonografia do VL foram obtidas para mensuração da espessura muscular, comprimento de fascículo e ângulo do fascículo. O pico de torque isométrico (PT-ISM) e TDTs em janelas de 50 ms foram calculados para cada CVIM. As TDTs foram calculadas em valores absolutos e normalizadas pelo PT-ISM. Resultados: A fadiga foi confirmada devido a reduções significativas da FMD dos três músculos. Após a fadiga, o PT-ISK foi reduzido de 239,0 ± 47,91 para 177,3 ± 34,96 Nm, e o PT-CVIM de 269,5 ± 45,63 para 220,49 ± 46,94 Nm. Todos os valores de TDT absolutos apresentaram-se significativamente diferentes após o protocolo de fadiga. Contudo, as TDTs normalizadas não demonstraram diferença significativa. Não foram observadas diferenças significativas na arquitetura muscular do VL. Conclusões: A redução da capacidade explosiva ocorreu de maneira concomitante com a redução da força máxima evidenciada pela falta de alterações na TDT normalizada. Nível de Evidência III.

ABSTRACT Introduction: There has been little research on changes in rate of torque development (RTD) and muscle architecture. This study evaluated the effect of fatigue on RTD and muscle architecture of the vastus lateralis (VL). Methods: Seventeen volunteers (25.5 ± 6.2 years; 177.2 ± 12.9 cm; 76.4 ± 13.1 kg) underwent isokinetic knee extension assessment at 30°/s to obtain the peak torque (PT-ISK), before and after a set of intermittent maximal voluntary isometric contractions (MVIC) (15 reps – 3 s contraction, 3 s rest) used to promote muscle fatigue, monitored by the median frequency (MDF) of the electromyography from the VL, rectus femoris and vastus medialis muscles. Before and after the fatigue protocol, ultrasound images of the VL were obtained to measure muscle thickness (MT), fascicle length (FL), and fascicle angle (FA). The peak isometric torque (PT-ISM) and the RTDs in 50 ms windows were calculated for each MVIC. The RTDs were reported as absolute values and normalized by the PT-ISM. Results: Fatigue was confirmed due to significant reductions in MDF in all three muscles. After the fatigue protocol, the PT-ISK was reduced from 239.0±47.91 to 177.3±34.96 Nm, and the PT-MVIC was reduced from 269.5±45.63 to 220.49±46.94 Nm. All the RTD absolute values presented significant change after the fatigue protocol. However, the normalized RTD did not demonstrate any significant differences. No significant differences were found in the muscle architecture of the VL. Conclusions: The reduction in explosive strength occurred concomitantly with the reduction in maximum strength, as evidenced by the lack of changes in normalized TDT. Level of Evidence III.

RESUMEN Introducción: Los cambios en la tasa de desarrollo del torque (TDT) y la arquitectura muscular causada por la fatiga son temas poco investigados. Esta investigación evaluó el efecto de la fatiga en la TDT y la arquitectura muscular del vasto lateral (VL). Métodos: 17 voluntarios (25.5 ± 6.2 años; 177.2 ± 12.9 cm; 76.4 ± 13.1 kg) se sometieron a una evaluación isocinética de la extensión de la rodilla a 30º/s para obtener el pico de torque (PT-ISK), antes y después de una serie de contracciones voluntarias máximas intermitentes (CVIM) (15 repeticiones - contracción 3 s, intervalo 3 s) utilizadas para causar fatiga muscular, monitoreadas por la frecuencia media (FMD) de la electromiografía VL, recto femoral y vasta medial. Antes y después del protocolo de fatiga, se obtuvieron imágenes de ultrasonido VL para medir el grosor muscular, la longitud del fascículo y el ángulo del fascículo. Se calculó el par isométrico máximo (PT-ISM) y las TDT en ventanas de 50 ms para cada CVIM. Las DTT se calcularon en valores absolutos y se normalizaron mediante PT-ISM. Resultados: la fatiga se confirmó por reducciones significativas en la fiebre aftosa de los tres músculos. Después de la fatiga, el PT-ISK se redujo de 239.0 ± 47.91 a 177.3 ± 34.96 Nm, y el PT-CVIM de 269.5 ± 45.63 a 220.49 ± 46.94 Nm. Todos los valores absolutos de TDT fueron significativamente diferentes después del protocolo de fatiga. Sin embargo, las TDT normalizadas no mostraron diferencias significativas. No se observaron diferencias significativas en la arquitectura muscular de la LV. Conclusiones: La reducción en la capacidad explosiva ocurrió simultáneamente con la reducción en la fuerza máxima, evidenciada por la falta de cambios en la TDT normalizada. Nível de evidencia III.

Resumo O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar evidências de validade de uma versão brasileira da Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S), com base em indicadores concernentes: (1) à estrutura interna; (2) à consistência interna; (3) à relação com variáveis externas; e (4) ao conteúdo. Procedeu-se a adaptação cultural do instrumento, com foco em aspectos semânticos e linguísticos próprios do Brasil. A seguir, esta versão brasileira da FCV-19S foi aplicada, em um ambiente virtual, em 211 participantes (72,98% do sexo feminino), com idade média de 37,07 anos (DP=13,03), juntamente com o Questionário de Autopercepção de Saúde Mental em Pandemia e o Questionário Sociodemográfico e Funcional. A análise fatorial confirmatória atestou unidimensionalidade. Os índices de consistência interna obtidos (alfa de Cronbach =0,921; ômega de McDonald =0,926) podem ser considerados elevados. Constatou-se correlação estatisticamente significativa entre medo e pensamento obsessivo, ansiedade generalizada, estresse generalizado, comportamento fóbico-evitativo e vivência de luto pela pandemia. As evidências de validade relativas ao conteúdo, oriundas de uma abordagem qualitativa, foram satisfatórias. Conclui-se que esta versão brasileira da FCV-19S mostrou-se adequada quanto às evidências de validade contempladas.

Abstract This study sought to analyze the evidence of the validity of a Brazilian version of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale (FCV-19S), based on indicators relating to: (1) the internal structure; (2) the internal consistency; (3) the relation with external variables; and (4) the content. The instrument was culturally adapted, focusing on semantic and specifically Brazilian linguistic aspects. The Brazilian version of the FCV-19S was then applied, in a virtual environment, to 211 participants (72.98% female) with an average age of 37.07 years (SD=13.03), together with the Self-Perception Questionnaire on Mental Health in Pandemics and the Sociodemographic and Functional Questionnaire. The confirmatory factor analysis revealed one-dimensionality. The internal consistency indices obtained (Cronbach’s alpha =0.921; McDonald’s omega =0.926) can be considered high. The correlation between fear and obsessive thinking of the disease, generalized anxiety, generalized stress, phobic-avoidant behavior and bereavement due to the pandemic was found to be statistically significant. Evidence of the validity related to content, derived from a qualitative approach, were satisfactory. The conclusion drawn is that the Brazilian version of the FCV-19S proved to be adequate regarding the evidence of the expected validity.

An analytical method for multi-elementary determination in powder refreshment, based on sample digestion using dilute mineral acids and detection by inductively plasma coupled optical emission spectrometry (ICP OES) is proposed. Chemometric tools, such as fractional factorial design and principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) were applied to optimize the sample preparation conditions in closed block digester, and Doehlert design for spectrometer operation. Addition and recovery tests and analyses of certified reference material were performed to evaluate the precision and accuracy, and the results confirm the reliability of the proposed method. Limits of quantification (LOQ) between 0.02 and 36 µg g−1 were obtained. The analytical method was applied for determination of 24 inorganic constituents in 20 powder refreshment samples. Calcium, K, Mg, Na, P, S and Ti presented the highest concentrations. The analytical method was adequate for the determinations of inorganic constituents in powder refreshment samples by ICP OES.

RESUMO Objetivo: A escoliose idiopática do adolescente (EIA) é uma deformidade da coluna que pode ocasionar disfunções cardiorrespiratórias, contribuindo para a diminuição da tolerância ao exercício aeróbio (TEA) e da funcionalidade. O objetivo é avaliar a TEA e a capacidade pulmonar em pacientes no pré (PRÉ) e pós-operatório (PÓS) de correção da EIA. Métodos: Participaram 60 indivíduos PRÉ (n = 30, idade: 18,5 ± 2,4 anos) e PÓS (n = 30, idade: 24,5 ± 4,5 anos). A capacidade vital forçada (CVF), o volume expiratório forçado no primeiro segundo (VEF1) e a razão VEF1/CVF, assim como as pressões inspiratória e expiratória máximas, foram verificados. A TEA foi avaliada pela distância percorrida no teste de caminhada de 6 minutos (TC6), acompanhado de medidas de pressão arterial, frequência cardíaca, frequência respiratória e saturação periférica de oxigênio no início e no final do teste. Resultados: Um padrão restritivo leve na função pulmonar e força da musculatura expiratória reduzida foram observados em ambos os grupos, mas sem diferença entre PRÉ e PÓS. Não foi encontrada diferença entre PRÉ (534 ± 67,1 m) e PÓS (541 ± 69,5 m) para a distância percorrida no TC6, abaixo do predito para ambos os grupos (82,8 ± 10,0% e 84,8 ± 10,9%, respectivamente). Foram observadas alterações hemodinâmicas e respiratórias provocadas pelo TC6, exceto para a saturação periférica de oxigênio. Conclusões: Os resultados sugerem que mesmo após a correção cirúrgica os pacientes com EIA continuam apresentando baixa TEA. ABSTRACT Objective: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a spinal deformity that can cause cardiorespiratory dysfunction, contributing to decreases in tolerance for aerobic exercise (TAE) and in functionality. The objective is to assess the TAE and lung capacity of patients who underwent corrective AIS surgery in the pre- (PRE) and postoperative (POST) periods. Methods: Sixty individuals, PRE (n=30, age: 18.5±2.4 years) and POST (n=30, age: 24.5±4.5 years), participated in the study. The forced vital capacity (FVC), the forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV1) and the FEV1/FVC ratio, as well as the maximum inspiratory and expiratory pressure were verified. The TAE was assessed by the distance travelled in the 6-minute walk test (6MWT), together with blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and peripheral oxygen saturation measured at the beginning and at the end of the test. Results: A mild restrictive pattern in lung function and reduced expiratory muscle strength were observed in both groups, but with no difference between the PRE and POST groups. No difference was found between the PRE (534±67.1 m) and POST (541± 69.5 m) groups for the distance travelled in the 6MWT, though both were below the predicted percentage (82.8±10.0% and 84.8±10.9%, respectively). Hemodynamic and respiratory changes caused by the 6MWT were observed, except for the peripheral oxygen saturation. Conclusion: The results suggest that even after surgical correction, patients with AIS continue to have low TAE. RESUMEN Objetivo: La escoliosis idiopática del adolescente (EIA) es una deformidad de la columna que puede causar disfunciones cardiorrespiratorias, contribuyendo para la disminución de la tolerancia al ejercicio aeróbico (TEA) y de la funcionalidad. El objetivo es evaluar la TEA y la capacidad pulmonar en pacientes en el pre (PRE) y postoperatorio (POS) de corrección de la EIA. Métodos: Participaron 60 individuos PRE (n=30, edad: 18,5±2,4 años) y POS (n=30, edad: 24,5±4,5 años). Fueron verificadas la capacidad vital forzada (CVF), el volumen espiratorio forzado en el primer segundo (VEF1) y la razón VEF1/CVF, así como las presiones inspiratoria y espiratoria máximas. La TEA fue evaluada por la distancia recorrida en el test de caminata de 6 minutos (TC6), acompañado de mediciones de presión arterial, frecuencia cardíaca, frecuencia respiratoria y saturación de oxígeno al inicio y al final del test. Resultados: Fueron observados un patrón restrictivo leve y fuerza muscular espiratoria reducida en ambos grupos, pero sin diferencia entre PRE y POS. No fue encontrada diferencia entre PRE (534 ± 67,1 m) y POS (541 ± 69,5 m) para la distancia recorrida en el TC6, por debajo de los predicho para ambos grupos (82,8 ± 10,0% y 84,8 ± 10,9%, respectivamente). Resumo A existência de barreiras nos serviços de demanda agendada resulta no elevado índice de absenteísmo. O objetivo deste manuscrito é apresentar as principais características do Sistema de Agendamento Online da estratégia e-SUS APS no Brasil. O Sistema de Agendamento Online desenvolvido pelo Laboratório Bridge da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, o qual também desenvolve o sistema de Prontuário Eletrônico do Cidadão (PEC e-SUS APS), e permite o agendamento de consultas através do aplicativo Conecte SUS Cidadão. O PEC e-SUS APS possui, entre outros, o módulo de agenda do profissional onde são realizadas as marcações e cancelamentos de consultas, permitindo a visualização de seus horários e disponibilidades. Embora o uso de sistemas de agendamento online seja capaz de fornecer benefícios, infelizmente eles têm sido pouco explorados na APS. Os principais motivos estão relacionados com a falta de informação e capacitação dos profissionais sobre o sistema e os impactos nos serviços prestados pelos estabelecimentos de saúde da APS. A fim de garantir a maior adoção e utilização do Sistema de Agendamento Online, é necessário ampliar a divulgação do sistema de modo a instituí-lo na rotina dos serviços como um instrumento facilitador do acesso à APS.

Abstract Barriers faced by health services providing scheduled care result in high no-show rates. This article describes the main characteristics of an online appointment scheduling system incorporated into the citizens’ electronic health record system (PEC e-SUS APS). Developed by the Bridge Laboratory, Federal University of Santa Catarina, which also developed the PEC e-SUS APS, the system allows patients to schedule appointments using the national patient communications hub, Conecte SUS Cidadão. The PEC e-SUS APS includes a professional’s agenda module that allows patients to view available time slots and book and cancel appointments. Unfortunately, despite the benefits of online scheduling systems, their potential has been poorly exploited in Brazil. The main reasons for this include lack of information and training of health professionals on how to use the system and its potential benefits for Primary Health Care (PHC) services. Wider dissemination is needed to improve the adoption of the system and promote the routine use of this tool in health services in order to facilitate access to primary health care.
