Resumen Este artículo busca analizar el avance que México ha tenido para el cumplimiento de 4 de las metas del Objetivo de Desarrollo Sostenible referido a la educación de calidad de la Agenda 2030. Mediante una investigación documental, se utilizan datos estadísticos oficiales por parte del Instituto Nacional de Estadística y Geografía (INEGI) referentes a la educación de los ciclos escolares 2000-2001 al 2020-2021. Se hace un comparativo entre los ciclos 2015-2016, que es cuando inician los trabajos formales de la Agenda 2030, y el ciclo 2020-2021. De esta manera, se tiene un campo de análisis de 5 años para examinar los avances en materia de educación en México con respecto a las metas de los Objetivos de la Agenda. Se concluye que solo se ha logrado avanzar en 2 de las metas para el cumplimiento de la agenda al 2030.

Abstract This article seeks to analyze the progress that Mexico has made to meet 4 of the goals of the Sustainable Development Goal referring to quality education of the 2030 Agenda. Through documentary research, official statistical data from the National Institute of Statistics are used. and Geography (INEGI), referring to education from the 200 - 2001 to 2020 - 2021 school cycles and a comparison is made between the 2015 - 2016 cycles, which is when the formal work of the 2030 Agenda and the 2020 - 2021 cycle begin, taking Thus, a field of analysis of 5 years to analyze the advances in education in Mexico with reference to the goals of the Objectives of the Agenda, from which it is concluded that only 2 of the goals have made progress for the fulfillment by 2030 of the agenda.

Resumo Este artigo busca analisar o progresso que o México fez para cumprir 4 das metas do Objetivo de Desenvolvimento Sustentável referentes à educação de qualidade da Agenda 2030. Por meio de pesquisa documental, dados estatísticos oficiais do Instituto Nacional de Estatística e Geografia (INEGI) sobre educação dos ciclos escolares 2000-2001 a 2020-2021. É feita uma comparação entre os ciclos 2015-2016, quando se iniciam os trabalhos formais da Agenda 2030, e o ciclo 2020-2021. Desta forma, há um campo de análise de 5 anos para examinar os avanços da educação no México em relação às metas dos Objetivos da Agenda. Conclui-se que apenas se avançou em 2 das metas para o cumprimento da agenda até 2030.

Abstract Objective Given the divergence of opinions on the need for complementary tests such as ultrasonography (US) and electroneuromyography (ENMG) for the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS), we aimed to elucidate which of them presents greater accuracy for the confirmation of the presence or not of this condition. Methods A total of 175 patients from a hand surgery outpatient clinic were clinically evaluated, and the results of clinical trials (Tinel, Phalen and Durkan), US (normal or altered), and ENMG (normal, mild, moderate and severe) were noted, crossed, and submitted to a statistical analysis to verify the agreement between them. Results with the sample had a mean age of 53 years, with a prevalence of female patients (159 cases). Of the patients with positive clinical test, 43.7% had normal US and 41.7% had no alterations on the ENMG. Negative results were found on the Tinel in 46.9%, on the Phalen in 47.4%, and on the Durkan in 39.7%. In the crossing between the results of the ENMG and those of the other diagnostic methods, there was little statistical agreement between them. Conclusion There was no agreement between the results of the clinical examinations, the US and the ENMG in the diagnosis of CTS, and there is no clinical or complementary examination for CTS that accurately determines the therapeutic approach. Resumo Objetivo Diante da divergência sobre a necessidade de exames complementares, como ultrassonografia (US) e eletroneuromiografia (ENMG) para o diagnóstico da síndrome do túnel do carpo (STC), objetivamos elucidar qual deles apresenta maior precisão na confirmação da presença ou não desta afecção. Métodos Um total de 175 pacientes de um ambulatório de cirurgia da mão foram avaliados clinicamente, e os resultados dos testes clínicos (Tinel, Phalen e Durkan), da US (normal ou alterada) e da ENMG (normal, leve, moderada e grave) foram anotados, cruzados, e submetidos a análise estatística para verificar a concordância entre eles. Resultados A idade média da amostra era de 53 anos, sendo prevalente o sexo feminino (159 casos). Dos pacientes com teste clínico positivo, 43,7% apresentavam US normal, e 41,7%, ENMG sem alterações. Foram encontrados resultados negativos no Tinel em 46,9% no Phalen em 47,4%, e no Durkan em 39,7%. No cruzamento entre a ENMG e os demais métodos diagnósticos, houve pouca concordância estatística. Conclusão Não houve concordância entre os resultados dos exames clínicos, da US e da ENMG no diagnóstico da STC, e não há exame clínico ou complementar para STC que determine a conduta terapêutica com precisão. ABSTRACT The neighborhood of Santo Antônio, located on the island of Antônio Vaz, has a history illustrated by the monumentality of the architecture and the art of the gardens, between the colonial and the modern, composing with the landscape of the waters. The natural attributes gave birth to gardens and tree-lined streets distributed among the institutional and religious buildings, most of which give it special prominence. Between the 18th and 20th centuries it underwent urban transformations that caused major changes in its configuration and dynamics. Even today, despite being a historic site, there is a gradual process of deterioration resulting from the decay of uses that imply the abandonment of buildings and public spaces making it perish from monument to ruin. As a record of an era of glory, this article aims to demonstrate, with urban history, to what extent the various historical layers of this palimpsest, rooted in popular culture, allied to the significant garden spaces characterized Santo Antônio as a garden-neighborhood.

RESUMO O bairro de Santo Antônio, localizado na ilha de Antônio Vaz, reúne uma história ilustrada pela monumentalidade na arquitetura e na arte dos jardins, entre o colonial e o moderno, compondo com a paisagem das águas. Dos atributos naturais nasceram jardins e ruas arborizadas distribuídos por entre as edificações institucionais e religiosas, na sua maioria, dando-lhe especial destaque. Entre os séculos XVIII e XX sofreu transformações urbanas que provocaram alterações de grande magnitude na sua configuração e na sua dinâmica. Ainda hoje, apesar de ser um sítio histórico, constata-se um processo gradual de deterioração resultante da decadência de usos que implicam o abandono das edificações e dos espaços públicos, fazendo-o perecer do monumento à ruína. A título de registro de uma época de glória, este artigo objetiva demonstrar, por meio da história urbana, em que medida as diversas camadas históricas desse palimpsesto, enraizadas de cultura popular, aliadas aos significativos espaços ajardinados caracterizaram Santo Antônio como um bairro-jardim.

Abstract Objective To evaluate clinical characteristics and outcomes of COVID-19 patients infected with HIV, and to compare with a paired sample without HIV infection. Methods This is a substudy of a Brazilian multicentric cohort that comprised two periods (2020 and 2021). Data was obtained through the retrospective review of medical records. Primary outcomes were admission to the intensive care unit, invasive mechanical ventilation, and death. Patients with HIV and controls were matched for age, sex, number of comorbidities, and hospital of origin using the technique of propensity score matching (up to 4:1). They were compared using the Chi-Square or Fisher's Exact tests for categorical variables and the Wilcoxon for numerical variables. Results Throughout the study, 17,101 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, and 130 (0.76%) of those were infected with HIV. The median age was 54 (IQR: 43.0;64.0) years in 2020 and 53 (IQR: 46.0;63.5) years in 2021, with a predominance of females in both periods. People Living with HIV (PLHIV) and their controls showed similar prevalence for admission to the ICU and invasive mechanical ventilation requirement in the two periods, with no significant differences. In 2020, in-hospital mortality was higher in the PLHIV compared to the controls (27.9% vs. 17.7%; p = 0.049), but there was no difference in mortality between groups in 2021 (25.0% vs. 25.1%; p > 0.999). Conclusions Our results reiterate that PLHIV were at higher risk of COVID-19 mortality in the early stages of the pandemic, however, this finding did not sustain in 2021, when the mortality rate is similar to the control group.

ABSTRACT Regarding the Brazilian textile industry, part of the northeast region stands out as the second-largest textile manufacturing hub in the country. Despite its importance, this industrial activity has been bringing relevant environmental concerns regarding the disposal of textile effluents, especially from industrial laundries. This waste contains many chemicals and among them are various types of heavy metals. To assess environmental risks associated with heavy metals, pollutant transfer needs to be investigated. This study evaluated the retention and mobility of heavy metals Cd and Cu in alluvial soil, through soil column tests. The up-flow column percolation tests were performed using a nonreactive tracer (KBr) at a concentration of 0.3 mol L-1 and injecting a metallic solution containing Cu and Cd at 100 and 60 mg L-1, respectively. The injection flow rate was 0.75 mL min-1. The hydro-dispersive parameters were obtained by modeling the observed breakthrough curves with the convection-dispersion equation (CDE) and the two-region model, also referred to as the MIM (Mobile-IMmobile waters) model. The transport parameters were obtained from the two-site model (TSS). All elution curves were fitted to the models with the CXTFIT 2.0 program. The Two-Site Sorption Model was the best for the case studied, with R2 of 0.985 and 0.995 for Cu and Cd, respectively. The values of R were considerably higher than the unit, presenting an average of 2.138 for Cu and 1.907 for Cd. This indicates a delay of these contaminants when leaving the column, which is caused by the interaction of these chemical compounds with the soil. The values obtained for parameter D were 3.469 for Cu and 5.205 for Cd. Thus, the metals in this study present a risk of groundwater contamination for the local alluvial aquifers. The main reason for that is the physicochemical features of the soil, such as high sand content (85 %) and low OM content (2.1 %). The results also indicated greater retention and less mobility for Cu than for Cd, pointing to a greater risk for Cd.

RESUMO Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) has a variety of organic and inorganic compounds that can interact with the environment and promote deleterious effects on human health. This study investigated the potential toxicity of RAP through metal determination, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) analysis and acute toxicity tests with Daphnia magna. Leached and solubilized extracts of RAP samples and a freshly produced asphalt sample were compared. Regarding metals, Mn was above the Brazilian acceptance criteria in the solubilized extract. The samples showed concentrations of Cd, Cr, and Pb, which are on the list of substances that render waste hazardous. For PAH, two samples of leachate had BaP concentration above the maximum value allowed and the other samples had BaP values close to the established limit. In addition, the samples still presented concentrations of BaA, BbF, IcdP, and Chr. For the acute toxicity tests, two solubilized samples indicated acute toxicity to Daphnia magna. The results indicated that the method of preparing the leached and the solubilized extract influenced the values of metals and acute toxicity. Two samples of RAP could be classified as hazardous waste, pointing out that these materials have the potential to leach hazardous substances to the environment. Therefore, the disposal of this type of waste should be carefully evaluated, as its composition contains substances that may degrade the environment and cause toxicological effects on living organisms.

ABSTRACT Pavimentos asfálticos fresados (PAF) apresentam uma variedade de compostos orgânicos e inorgânicos que podem interagir com o meio ambiente e promover efeitos deletérios à saúde humana. Este estudo investigou o potencial de toxicidade dos PAF por meio da determinação de metais, hidrocarbonetos policíclicos aromáticos (HPA) e testes de toxicidade aguda com Daphnia magna. Foram comparados extratos lixiviados e solubilizados de amostras de PAF e de resíduo asfáltico fresco. As análises de Mn apresentaram concentrações acima do critério de aceitação normativo brasileiro para os extratos solubilizados. As amostras resultaram em concentrações de Cd, Cr e Pb, que estão na lista de substâncias que conferem periculosidade aos resíduos. Em relação aos HPA, duas amostras de lixiviado apresentaram concentração de BaP acima do valor máximo permitido e as demais amostras apresentaram valores de BaP próximos ao limite estabelecido. Ademais, foram identificadas nas amostras concentrações de BaA, BbF, IcdP e Chr. Para os ensaios de toxicidade aguda, duas amostras solubilizadas indicaram toxicidade aguda para Daphnia magna. Os resultados indicaram que o método de preparo dos lixiviados e do extrato solubilizado influenciaram os valores de metais e a toxicidade aguda. Duas amostras de PAF foram classificadas como resíduos perigosos, sinalizando que tais materiais apresentam potencial para lixiviar substâncias perigosas ao ambiente. Portanto, a disposição em solo desse tipo de resíduo deve ser criteriosa, uma vez que sua composição contém substâncias que podem impactar o meio ambiente e causar efeitos toxicológicos em organismos vivos.

Background: Tocilizumab (TCZ) is a new therapeutic alternative for severe cases of COVID-19 pneumonia. Aim: To evaluate the cumulative incidence (CI) of suspected adverse drug reactions (ADR) from TCZ in adult patients with COVID-19. Material and Methods: An active pharmacological surveillance protocol was carried out in patients older than 18 years old, who received at least one dose of TCZ between May and August 2020 at a clinical hospital. Non-infectious ADRs were categorized according to the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events and the development of infection was classified as present or absent. Causality and preventability of ADRs were determined with the Naranjo Algorithm and the modified Schumock & Thornton criteria, respectively. Results: The CI of ADRs caused by TCZ was 69.6% (95% confidence intervals (CI): 63.5-76.6). A rise in alanine and aspartate aminotransferases and the development of infections were the most frequent adverse events. Seventy-four percent were considered mild in severity. Sixty two percent of suspected non-infectious ADRs were classified as probable and all the infectious events as Possible. Of the ADRs observed, 33% were preventable. Conclusions: The occurrence of ADRs after the use of TCZ is frequent, of mild severity, and in one third of the cases, preventable. We suggest monitoring blood count, liver function tests and ruling out infection prior to TCZ administration.

Resumo No projeto de obras de engenharia hidráulica, a estimativa de uma precipitação de projeto é extremamente importante. A previsão de chuva depende de vários fatores, o que simplifica sua estimativa com processos estocásticos. Nesse sentido, as distribuições de Gumbel (GUM), dois parâmetros Log-Normal (LN2P), valor extremo generalizado (GEV), Fréchet com dois e três parâmetros (FRE2P e FRE3P), Weibull com dois e três parâmetros (W2P e W3P), Gamma (GAM2P) e Pareto com dois e três parâmetros (PAR2P e PAR3P) foram avaliadas quanto ao ajuste de precipitação diária máxima anual (AMDP) na cidade de Caruaru (agreste de Pernambuco). Foi utilizada uma série de AMDP, com base em dados obtidos na Agência Nacional de Águas (ANA). Para avaliar a qualidade da aderência das distribuições, foram utilizados os testes de aderência Anderson Darling (AD), Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS), Qui-quadrado de Pearson (χ2) e o coeficiente de determinação (R²). O Método da Verossimilhança apresentou uma qualidade de ajuste melhor que o Método do Momento. A distribuição GEV obteve os melhores resultados para o teste AD nos dois métodos para estimar os parâmetros. Entre os testes de adesão utilizados, o teste de AD foi considerado o mais restritivo. Para verificar a adequação dos parâmetros de qualidade às relações IDF, foi utilizado o coeficiente de desempenho Willmott. Para todas as distribuições empregadas neste estudo, os coeficientes de desempenho de Willmott apresentaram valores acima de 0,99, proporcionando um ajuste perfeito das relações IDF com coeficientes de determinação próximos de 1,0.

Abstract In the design of hydraulic engineering works, the estimation of project precipitation is fundamental. Rain forecasting depends on several factors, which makes estimating it simpler with stochastic processes. In this sense, the distributions of Gumbel (GUM), Log-Normal two-parameter (LN2P), Generalized Extreme Value (GEV), Fréchet with two and three parameters (FRE2P and FRE3P), Weibull with two and three parameters (W2P and W3P), Gamma (GAM2P), and Pareto with two and three parameters (PAR2P and PAR3P) were evaluated to the annual maximum daily precipitation (AMDP) adjustment in the city of Caruaru (Pernambuco´s Agreste). A series of AMDP was used, based on data obtained from the National Water Agency (Agência Nacional de Águas - ANA). Anderson Darling (AD), Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) and Pearson Chi-square (χ2) adherence tests, and the determination coefficient (R²) were used to assess the adherence quality of the distributions. The Likelihood Method presented a better fit quality than the Moment Method. The GEV distribution obtained the best results for the AD test in both methods to estimate the parameters. Among the adherence tests used, the AD test was considered the most restrictive. To verify the quality parameters’ fitness to the IDF relations, the Willmott performance coefficient was used. For all distributions employed in this study, Willmott performance coefficients presented values above 0.99, giving a perfect fit of IDF relations with determination coefficients close to 1.0.

Resumo O Arranjo Produtivo Local localizado no Agreste de Pernambuco vem desenvolvendo significativamente a economia da região. Apesar da sua importância, a atividade industrial traz preocupações ambientais relevantes no que diz respeito à eliminação de efluentes têxteis, principalmente das lavanderias industriais. Esses resíduos são compostos por diversos produtos químicos e, entre eles, vários tipos de metais pesados. A avaliação do comportamento de sorção de mecanismos de transporte de contaminantes como metais pesados é essencial para avaliar o risco de contaminação de aquíferos aluviais. Este estudo avaliou a sorção de metais pesados (Cu e Cd) em um depósito de sedimento aluvial no rio Capibaribe. Experimentos cinéticos e isotérmicos permitiram as análises de sorção de Cu e Cd. A cinética de sorção mostrou uma tendência de equilíbrio após 16h para Cu e 18h para Cd e foi melhor descrita por um modelo de pseudo-segunda ordem. Os dados de isoterma foram ajustados aos modelos Linear, Freundlich e Langmuir. Os modelos linear e de Freundlich descreveram satisfatoriamente as isotermas de sorção para os dois poluentes. Os metais em estudo representam risco de contaminação das águas subterrâneas de aquíferos aluviais, principalmente devido aos atributos físico-químicos do solo, como alto teor de areia (85%), baixa MO (2,1 g kg-1) e pH alcalino (8,2 ) As condições ambientais diminuem a absorção e facilitam a mobilidade do metal, aumentando muito os riscos ambientais inerentes à lixiviação de poluentes. O Cu apresentou maior afinidade com o solo estudado em todos os ensaios realizados em comparação com os resultados dos ensaios para o Cd.

Abstract The Local Production Arrangement, located in the Pernambuco’s Agreste state, has been significantly developing the region's economy. Despite its importance, industrial activity has caused relevant environmental concerns regarding the disposal of textile effluents, especially from industrial laundries. This waste is made up of many chemicals, and among them are various types of heavy metals. The evaluation of the sorption behavior of contaminant transport mechanisms such as heavy metals is essential to assess the risk of contamination of alluvial aquifers. This study evaluated the sorption of heavy metals (Cu and Cd) in an alluvial sediment deposit in the Capibaribe River. Kinetics and isotherm experiments allowed the analyses of Cu and Cd sorption. Kinetics sorption showed an equilibrium tendency after 16 h for Cu and 18 h for Cd and was better described by a pseudo-second order model. The isotherm data were adjusted to the Linear, Freundlich and Langmuir models. Both linear and Freundlich models satisfactorily described sorption isotherms for the two pollutants. The metals in the study represent a risk of contamination of the groundwater of alluvial aquifers, mainly due to physicochemical attributes of the soil, such as high sand content (85%), low MO (2.1 g kg-1) and alkaline pH (8.2). The environmental conditions decrease absorption and facilitate metal mobility, greatly increasing the environmental risks inherent in pollutant leaching. Cu showed a higher affinity with the soil studied in all assays performed compared with the results of the tests for Cd.

RESUMO As funções de retenção de água no solo e condutividade hidráulica são indispensáveis para a caracterização e modelagem dos processos de infiltração e transferência de água na zona vadosa. No caso do semi-árido brasileiro, caracterizado pela escassez de recursos hídricos, faltam informações sobre as propriedades hidrodinâmicas do solo. Além disso, essas propriedades possuem inúmeros fatores de variabilidade, sendo essencial a caracterização de sua magnitude, bem como sua distribuição no espaço. Esta pesquisa apresenta uma análise das propriedades hidrodinâmicas de um solo sob mata nativa da Caatinga, típica do semi-árido brasileiro, observando sua distribuição espacial. Uma malha de 48 pontos foi desenvolvida em uma área de aproximadamente 875 m2, onde foi aplicada a metodologia Beerkan. As análises foram realizadas com base na aplicação do algoritmo BEST-Slope e em medidas estatísticas de posição, dispersão e aderência. Os resultados mostraram índices de variabilidade médios a altos para as propriedades hidrodinâmicas, com distribuição espacial aleatória, apesar da verificação de uma textura homogênea na área. Assim, verificou-se que a estrutura do solo foi preponderante nos processos de infiltração de água.

ABSTRACT The functions of soil water retention and hydraulic conductivity are indispensable for the characterization and modeling of the infiltration and water transfer processes in the vadose zone. In the case of the Brazilian semi-arid region, characterized by the scarcity of water resources, there is a lack of information on the hydrodynamic properties of the soil. Also, these properties have numerous factors of variability, requiring the characterization of their magnitude and distribution in space. This research presents an analysis of the infiltration process and the hydrodynamic properties of the soil under native Caatinga forest, observing its spatial distribution. This vegetation is typical of the Brazilian semi-arid region. One developed a 48-point grid in an area of approximately 875 m2, and applied on it the Beerkan methodology. The analyzes were performed based on the application of the BEST-Slope algorithm and statistical measures of the position, dispersion, and adherence tests. The results showed medium to high variability indices for the hydrodynamic properties, with random spatial distribution, despite the verification of a homogeneous texture in the area. Thus, it was found that the soil structure was predominant in the processes of water infiltration.

ABSTRACT: The present study aims to describe, through a case report, the functioning of bone grafts, where they are obtained including bone banks and the different dental areas in which it is used. A 50-year.old female patient HMR, sought the postgraduate college of dentistry CECAPE for oral rehabilitation. The initial clinical examination revealed the absence of several dental elements in both the maxilla and mandi ble, bone resorption in the entire maxillary extension where there was an absence of elements in the anterior region and the presence of a torus in the palatal region. Initial tomographic examinations of the maxilla and mandible were performed, looking for the best conduct regarding the diagnosis and planning of the case. After the clinical and radiographic examinations was performed, and the diagnosis was reached, it was determined as a treatment for oral rehabilitation of the maxilla, bone grafting and an Implant-supported Removable Partial Prosthesis and for the mandible a Dento-muco-supported Removable Partial Prosthesis. Dental treatments and oral rehabilitation from the use of bone tissues and bone grafting have become commonly used. Procedures that would normally lead to failure started to increase the percentage of successes due to the use of these biomaterials. The use of bone grafts in dentistry has been shown to be a very effective and useful resource, considering its great applicability in bone reconstructions in different areas of dentistry.

RESUMEN: El presente estudio tiene como objetivo describir a través de un informe de caso, el funcionamiento de los injertos óseos, donde se obtienen, incluidos los bancos de huesos y las diferentes áreas dentales en las que se emplea. Una paciente HMR, de 50 años de edad, asistió el centro universitario de posgrado CECAPE para rehabilitación oral. El examen clínico inicial reveló la ausencia de varios dientes tanto en el maxilar como en la mandíbula, la resorción ósea en toda la extensión maxilar donde había ausencia de dientes en la región anterior y la presencia de un torus en la región palatina. Se realizaron exámenes tomográficos iniciales del maxilar y mandíbula, buscando la mejor conducta con respecto al diagnóstico y la planificación del caso. Después de los exámenes clínicos y radiográficos realizados y el diagnóstico listo, se determinó como un tratamiento para la rehabilitación oral del maxilar, el injerto óseo y una prótesis removible implantosoportada y para la mandíbula una prótesis parcial removible dento-muco-soportada. Los tratamientos dentales y la rehabilitación oral a partir del uso de tejidos óseos y el injerto óseo se han utilizado comúnmente. Los procedimientos que normalmente conducirían al fracaso comenzaron a aumentar el porcentaje de éxitos debido al uso de estos biomateriales. Se ha demostrado que el uso de injertos óseos en odontología es un recurso muy eficaz y útil, considerando su gran aplicabilidad en las reconstrucciones óseas en diferentes áreas de la odontología.

Resumo As águas residuais das indústrias têxteis são carregadas com corantes sintéticos. Esses efluentes geralmente não são tratados adequadamente, afetando a qualidade do solo e das águas subterrâneas, levando à contaminação ambiental. O Agreste de Pernambucano abriga um dos maiores centros têxteis do Brasil. Portanto, este trabalho tem como objetivo estudar o comportamento do corante Remazol Black B (RB5) em meios subsuperficiais nessa região. Os experimentos de cinética e sorção isotérmica permitiram avaliar a capacidade de retenção do RB5 em duas camadas de solo aluvial do leito seco do rio Capibaribe. A taxa máxima de sorção foi de 81,81 mg kg-1 e 21,7 mg kg-1 para a camada areia franco e camada areia, respectivamente. O modelo cinético de pseudo-segunda ordem descreveu mais adequadamente a cinética de sorção para ambos os solos. O comportamento das isotermas foi não-linear e o modelo de Freundlich foi o mais adequado para descrever esse processo para ambos os solos, apresentando valores de KF de 8,6407 L kg-1 para areia franco e 0,1868 L kg-1 para areia. Os parâmetros isotérmicos confirmam uma interação mais significativa do RB5 com a camada de areia franco do que com a camada de areia, indicando menor lixiviação na primeira camada, menos móvel para a contaminação por RB5. Além disso, as diferentes taxas de sorção para os dois solos indicam a importância do estudo do solo como um perfil heterogêneo.

Abstract Wastewater from textile industries is loaded with synthetic dyes. These effluents are often not adequately treated, affecting the soil and groundwater quality and leading to environmental contamination. The Agreste mesoregion of the state of Pernambuco is home to one of the largest textile centers in Brazil. This work therefore aims to study the behavior of Remazol Black B (RB5) dye in subsurface mediums in this region. The kinetics and isotherm sorption experiments allowed an evaluation of RB5 retention capacity in two layers of alluvial soil of the dry riverbed of the Capibaribe Basin. The maximum sorption rate was 81.81 mg kg-1 and 21.7 mg kg-1 for the loamy sand and sand layers, respectively. The Pseudo-second order kinetic model described more appropriately the sorption kinetics for both soils. The isotherms behavior was nonlinear, and Freundlich model was the most suitable to describe this process for both soils, presenting KF values of 8.6407 L kg-1 for loamy sand and 0.1868 L kg-1 for sand. The isotherm parameters confirm a more significant interaction of RB5 with the loamy sand layer than with the sand layer, indicating lower leaching in the first layer, which is less mobile for RB5 contamination. Furthermore, the different sorption rates for both soils indicate the importance of studying the soil as a heterogeneous profile.

RESUMO O elevado processo de urbanização tem provocado profundas alterações nos componentes do ciclo hidrológico, ocasionando diversos problemas como inundações, degradação das águas pluviais, entre outros. As técnicas de Desenvolvimento de Baixo Impacto (LID) provaram ser uma alternativa viável e eficaz na gestão das águas pluviais, reduzindo o escoamento superficial e aumentando a capacidade de infiltração e evapotranspiração das áreas urbanas. A previsão do funcionamento de uma técnica compensatória como um pavimento permeável depende das propriedades hidrodinâmicas das camadas do pavimento permeável, bem como das propriedades hidráulicas do subsolo. Os modelos baseados na solução numérica da equação de Richards têm sido os mais utilizados para a estimativa dos processos de transferência de água. O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar a influência dos parâmetros hidrodinâmicos no comportamento hidráulico de um pavimento permeável instalado na cidade de Recife-PE. O efeito de 5 parâmetros hidrodinâmicos foi analisado para um pavimento permeável altamente heterogêneo. Foi utilizado o modelo Hydrus 1-D para simular os processos de transferência de água num pavimento permeável. Inicialmente foi realizada uma análise de sensibilidade do grau de refinamento da malha para simulação dos processos de transferência no pavimento permeável. O método de superfície de resposta foi aplicado para a análise de sensibilidade aos parâmetros hidrodinâmicos. As estimativas foram realizadas para as escalas de tempo diária e horária. Como resultados, observou-se que a discretização espacial não exerceu influência nos cenários das variáveis de fluxo. O uso de uma escala de tempo diária diminuiu a influência dos eventos de maior intensidade de precipitação, subestimando a geração de escoamento superficial. A lâmina escoada apresentou maior sensibilidade aos parâmetros da camada superficial, principalmente à condutividade hidráulica saturada. A infiltração e recarga acumuladas apresentaram baixa sensibilidade à variação dos parâmetros. A estimativa da lâmina armazenada no perfil foi mais sensível aos parâmetros ‘θs’ e ‘n’ da camada de subbase. A utilização de dados de entrada climatológicos com diferentes resoluções temporais para a simulação dos processos de transferência de água na seção do pavimento permeável demonstrou que na resolução diária os parâmetros hidrodinâmicos apresentam maior influência que as variáveis climáticas. A utilizados de dados climatológicos com resolução temporal horária demonstrou que o escoamento superficial foi hipoteticamente controlado pelas variáveis meteorológicas. A análise de sensibilidade da malha e dos parâmetros pode influenciar pesquisas que busquem entender os processos de transferência de água em uma estrutura como um pavimento permeável através da equação de Richards, gerando um menor custo operacional e dando celeridade às simulações.

ABSTRACT The high urbanization process has caused profound changes in the components of the hydrological cycle, causing various problems such as flooding, rainwater degradation, among others. Low Impact Development (LID) techniques have proven to be a viable and effective alternative to stormwater management, reducing runoff, and increasing the infiltration and evapotranspiration capacity of urban areas. The operation prediction of a compensatory technique, such as permeable pavement, depends on the hydrodynamic properties of the permeable pavement layers and the subsoil properties. The numerical solutions based on the solution of Richards’ equation have been the most used to estimate water transfer processes. The objective of this work was to investigate the influence of hydrodynamic parameters on the hydraulic behavior of a permeable pavement installed in Recife-PE. The effect of 5 hydrodynamical parameters was analyzed for a highly heterogeneous permeable pavement. The Hydrus 1-D model was used to simulate water transfer processes on the permeable pavement. Initially, a sensitivity analysis of the mesh refinement degree was performed to simulate the transfer processes in the permeable pavement. The response surface method was applied to the hydrodynamic parameters to perform the sensitivity analysis. The calculations were carried out for hourly and daily time scales. As a result, it was observed that the spatial discretization had no influence on the scenarios of the flow variable. The use of a daily time resolution reduced the influence of events with higher precipitation intensity, underestimating the generation of runoff. The surface runoff showed higher sensitivity to the parameters of the superficial layer, especially to the saturated hydraulic conductivity. The cumulative infiltration and groundwater recharge showed low sensitivity when the hydrodynamic parameters of the retention curve and the saturated hydraulic conductivity varied. The volume of water stored in the profile showed higher sensitivity to the ‘θs’ and ‘n’ parameter of the subbase layer. The use of meteorological input data with different temporal resolutions for the simulation of the water transfer processes in the permeable pavement section demonstrated that the hydrodynamic parameters have a higher influence than the climatic variables in the daily resolution. The use of meteorological data with hourly temporal resolution demonstrated that runoff was hypothetically controlled by meteorological variables. The mesh and parameter sensitivity analysis can influence researches that seek to understand water transfer processes in a structure as a permeable pavement through the Richards’ equation, generating a lower operating cost and speeding up simulations.

Resumo O semiárido pernambucano é uma região que apresenta grande déficit hídrico, levando a população a explorar os recursos hídricos subterrâneos como os aquíferos aluvionares. O estado de Pernambuco também se destaca por conter o segundo maior polo de confecções têxteis do Brasil. No entanto, o lançamento direto de efluentes têxteis provenientes das indústrias da região tem intensificado os impactos negativos na conservação da água e dos solos aluvionares. O objetivo deste trabalho consiste na caracterização da sorção do corante Direct Black 22 (DB22) em solos de duas camadas de um aluvião na bacia do Capibaribe-PE. Os ensaios de Bacth (cinética e isotermas de sorção) permitiram avaliar o potencial de retenção e mobilidade desse composto nesse ambiente. A cinética de sorção foi verificada com os tempos de agitação de 0,25; 0,5; 1; 2; 4; 6; 8; 10; 12; 24; 48 e 72 horas e os dados experimentais foram ajustados aos modelos cinéticos de primeira e segunda. A isoterma ocorreu com concentrações de 1; 5; 10; 15; 20; 32,5 e 40 mg.L-1, e os dados experimentais foram ajustados ao modelo linear, de Freundlich e de Langmuir. A cinética de sorção do DB22 foi melhor descrita pelo modelo de segunda ordem e as isotermas de sorção para Camadas 1 e 2 ajustaram-se adequadamente aos modelos de Freundlich e Linear. Os teores de matéria orgânica e a capacidade de troca catiônica das camadas de solo foram propriedades que influenciaram na sorção do corante. A camada superficial privilegia fenômenos de retenção do corante enquanto que a camada subsuperficial privilegia fenômenos de mobilidade do corante.

Abstract The semiarid region of Pernambuco has a large water deficit, leading the population to explore groundwater resources such as alluvial aquifers. The state of Pernambuco also stands out for having the second-largest textile manufacturing center in Brazil. However, the direct discharge of textile effluents from the region's industries has intensified the negative impacts on water conservation and alluvial soils. This work characterized the sorption of Direct Black 22 dye (DB22) in two layers of alluvial soil in the Capibaribe-PE basin. Batch experiments (kinetics and sorption isotherms) allowed the evaluation of the retention potential and mobility of this compound in this environment. Sorption kinetics were verified for stirring times of 0.25; 0.5; 1; 2; 4; 6; 8; 10; 12; 24; 48 and 72 hours and the experimental data was adjusted to the first- and second-order kinetic models. The isotherm occurred with concentrations of 1; 5; 10; 15; 20; 32.5 and 40 mg.L-1 and experimental data was adjusted to the linear, Freundlich and Langmuir models. The sorption kinetics of DB22 was best described by the second-order model, while the Freundlich and Linear models properly fitted sorption isotherms for Layers 1 and 2. The organic matter contents and the cation-exchange capacity of the soil layers influenced the sorption of the dye. The superficial layer privileges dye retention phenomena, while in the subsurface layer dye mobility phenomena prevail.

RESUMO A obesidade é uma doença crônica degenerativa. Os aparelhos de vibração de corpo inteiro (VCI) permitem o controle da intensidade dos exercícios através das suas variáveis: frequência, amplitude e tempo de vibração, possibilitando intervenções nessas populações. O objetivo do presente estudo foi realizar uma revisão sobre as aplicações, protocolos e resultados dos aparelhos de VCI em indivíduos obesos. Realizou-se uma revisão sistemática da literatura utilizando os descritores e termos verificados no DeCS (LILACS e SCIELO) e no MeSH (PubMED). Dos 13 estudos selecionados, sete utilizaram o delineamento metodológico do tipo experimental e seis do tipo quase-experimental. Onze estudos analisaram as respostas crônicas e dois as respostas agudas ao treinamento com VCI. Os valores de frequência variaram entre 30 e 35 Hz, a amplitude, em torno de 2 mm, e, em relação à intensidade, a maioria dos protocolos de treinamento utilizara o aumento gradativo da VCI ao longo da intervenção. Oito estudos adicionaram exercícios dinâmicos e cargas extras à VCI. O tempo médio de exposição total à VCI variou em torno de 20’ distribuídos em 1 ou 2 séries, com tempos de 30” a 60” de vibração pelo mesmo tempo de descanso. A frequência média das intervenções foi em torno de 2 a 3 vezes por semana, com tempo médio de 10 meses de intervenção. Entre os principais resultados destacam-se: redução do peso corporal e melhoria nas variáveis fisiológicas da absorção de oxigênio, da densidade mineral óssea e do perfil arterial, indicando que a VCI pode ser uma ferramenta segura no combate à obesidade e suas implicações. ABSTRACT Obesity is a chronic degenerative disease. Whole-body vibration (WBV) devices make it possible to control the intensity of exercises through their variables: frequency, amplitude and vibration time, thus enabling interventions in these populations. The objective of this study was to review the applications, protocols and results of WBV devices in obese individuals. A systematic literature review was conducted using the descriptors and terms verified in DeCS (LILACS and SCIELO) and MeSH (PubMED). Of the thirteen studies selected, seven used an experimental and six a quasi-experimental methodological design. Eleven studies analyzed chronic responses and two studies acute responses to WBV training. Frequency values ranged between 30 and 35 Hz, amplitude was around 2 mm, and in terms of intensity, most of the training protocols used a gradual increase in WBV throughout the intervention. Eight studies added dynamic exercises and extra loads to the WBV. The mean total WBV exposure time varied around 20’ distributed in 1 or 2 series, with vibration times of 30” to 60” and the same rest time. The mean frequency of interventions was around 2 to 3 times a week, with a mean intervention time of 10 months. The main results include: decrease in body weight and improvement in the physiological variables of oxygen absorption, bone mineral density and arterial profile, indicating that WBV can be a safe tool in the fight against obesity and its implications. RESUMEN La obesidad es una enfermedad crónica degenerativa. Los aparatos de vibración de cuerpo entero (VCE) permiten el control de la intensidad de los ejercicios por medio de sus variables: frecuencia, amplitud y tiempo de vibración, posibilitando intervenciones en estas poblaciones. El objetivo del presente estudio fue realizar una revisión sobre las aplicaciones, protocolos y resultados de los aparatos de VCE en individuos obesos. Se realizó una revisión sistemática de la literatura utilizando los descriptores y términos verificados en el DeCS (LILACS y SCIELO) y en el MeSH (PubMED). De los trece estudios seleccionados, siete utilizaron delineamiento metodológico del tipo experimental y seis del tipo cuasi experimental. Once estudios analizaron las respuestas crónicas y dos las respuestas agudas al entrenamiento con VCE. Los valores de frecuencia variaron entre 30 y 35 Hz, la amplitud, alrededor de 2 mm, y con relación a la intensidad, la mayoría de los protocolos de entrenamiento utilizó el aumento gradual de la VCE, a lo largo de la intervención. Ocho estudios agregaron ejercicios dinámicos y cargas extra a la VCE. El tiempo promedio de exposición total a la VCE varió en torno a 20 ‘distribuidos en una o dos series, con tiempos de 30” a 60” de vibración por el mismo tiempo de descanso. La frecuencia promedio de las intervenciones fue alrededor de dos a tres veces por semana, con tiempo promedio de 10 meses de intervención. Entre los principales resultados se destacan: reducción del peso corporal y mejora en las variables fisiológicas de la absorción de oxígeno, de la densidad mineral ósea y del perfil arterial, indicando que la VCE puede ser una herramienta segura en el combate a la obesidad y sus implicaciones.
