A obesidade é uma doença crônica que se caracteriza pelo acúmulo excessivo de gordura no tecido adiposo. Ressaltando a importância do combate a obesidade para a Saúde Pública, e considerando o papel do profissional de Educação Física no tratamento e prevenção dessa doença estabeleceu-se o seguinte objetivo geral para este estudo: compreender a percepção do profissional de Educação Física quanto ao seu papel na dinâmica do combate à obesidade. Tratou-se de uma pesquisa descritiva, de natureza qualitativa, que foi realizada no município de Aracati, Ceará. A amostra contou com a participação de 10 profissionais de Educação Física que responderam a uma entrevista semiestruturada relacionada ao papel do profissional de Educação Física no combate à obesidade. Observou-se que os profissionais referiram que sua importância diante da assistência a pessoas com obesidade é permeada pela atuação em ações de educação em saúde, destacando as doenças que essa patologia pode provocar e apontando que é fundamental combater o sedentarismo. Pode-se concluir que o profissional de Educação Física possui uma percepção relevante do seu papel no combate à obesidade visto que suas ações permitem a realização de práticas assistenciais que promovam a prevenção e a baixa incidência dessa enfermidade.

Obesity is a chronic disease characterized by excessive accumulation of fat in adipose tissue. Currently, you can see that obesity is a disease that is becoming increasingly common in everyday life. Emphasizing the importance of combating obesity for public health, and considering the role of physical education professional in the treatment and prevention of this disease was established the following overall goal for this study: Understanding the perception of physical education professional about their role the dynamics of combating obesity. This was a descriptive, qualitative, which was held in the municipality of Aracati, Ceará. The sample included the participation of 10 professionals of Physical Education who answered a semi-structured interview consists of questions related to the role of the professional physical education in combating obesity. In conducting this research, it was observed that the professionals mentioned its importance on the care of people with obesity is permeated by the presence in health education actions providing guidance as to the severity of obesity, highlighting the diseases that can cause disease and pointing out that it is crucial to combat a sedentary lifestyle. Considering the results, it can be concluded that the professional of Physical Education has an important perception of its role in fighting obesity since their actions allow the realization of care practices that promote the prevention and lower the incidence of this disease.

The bacterial spot of tomato, caused by Xanthomonas spp., is a very important disease, especially in the hot and humid periods of the year. The chemical control of the disease has not been very effective for a number of reasons. This study aimed to evaluate, under greenhouse conditions, the efficacy of leaf-spraying chemicals (acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM) (0.025 g.L−1), fluazinam (0.25 g.L−1), pyraclostrobin (0.08 g.L−1), pyraclostrobin + methiran (0.02 g.L−1 + 2.2 g.L−1), copper oxychloride (1.50 g.L−1), mancozeb + copper oxychloride (0.88 g.L−1 + 0.60 g.L−1), and oxytetracycline (0.40 g.L−1)) on control of bacterial spot. Tomatoes Santa Clara and Gisele cultivars were pulverized 3 days before inoculation with Xanthomonas perforans. The production of enzymes associated with resistance induction (peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase, phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, β-1,3-glucanase, and protease) was quantified from leaf samples collected 24 hours before and 24 hours after chemical spraying and at 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8 days after bacterial inoculation. All products tested controlled bacterial spot, but only ASM, pyraclostrobin, and pyraclostrobin + metiram increased the production of peroxidase in the leaves of the two tomato cultivars, and increased the production of polyphenol oxidase and β-1,3-glucanase in the Santa Clara cultivar.

A murcha-de-curtobacterium é umas principais doenças do feijoeiro e o uso de cultivares com níveis de resistência é fundamental para o manejo adequado da doença. A reação de 54 genótipos de feijoeiro comum a um isolado de Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens (Cff) foi avaliada, assim como a colonização de cultivares e a obstrução de vasos de xilema primário da base de pecíolos de plantas inoculadas foram quantificadas. Ensaios conduzidos em casa-de-vegetação e laboratório evidenciaram resistência nas cultivares IAC Diplomata, IAC Alvorada, IAC Imperador, IPR Corujinha e IPR Tangará e nas linhagens P5-4-4-1 e C4-5-4-1-2. Uma menor velocidade de colonização por Cff também foi evidenciada nas cultivares resistentes (IAC Diplomata, IAC Carioca Tybatã e IAC Carioca Pyatã), assim como uma menor porcentagem de obstrução dos vasos de xilema primários na base de pecíolos, em comparação às cultivares suscetíveis (IAC Carioca e Pérola).

Bacterial wilt is one of the main diseases of common beans and the use of cultivars with some level of resistance is fundamental for an adequate disease management. The reaction of 54 common bean genotypes to Curtobacterium flaccumfaciens pv. flaccumfaciens (Cff) was evaluated, and the colonization of cultivars and obstruction of primary xylem vessels at the petiole base were assessed. In greenhouse and laboratory tests, resistance was detected in the cultivars IAC Diplomata, IAC Alvorada, IAC Imperador, IPR Corujinha, and IPR Tangará, and in the lines P5-4-4-1 and C4-5-4-1-2. The Cff colonization rate was also slower in the resistant cultivars (IAC Diplomata, IAC Carioca Tybatã, and IAC Carioca Pyatã) and the percentage of obstruction of primary xylem vessels at the petiole base lower than in the susceptible cultivars (IAC Carioca and Pérola).

The present study aims to evaluate the effect of fungicides and antibiotics to control bacterial spot (Xanthomonas perforans) in tomato, and the activation of pathogenesis-related proteins. Hybrid tomato AP 529 was used to assess the severity of disease. The treatments consisted of spraying with acibenzolar-S-methyl, fluazinam, pyraclostrobin, pyraclostrobin + methiran, copper oxychloride, copper oxychloride and mancozeb + oxytetracycline, and inoculated and non-inoculated controls. After three days of treatment, all plants were inoculated with X. perforans (10(6) CFU / mL). Leaf discs were collected for assessment of peroxidase, polyphenol oxidase, β-1,3 glucanase, phenylalanine ammonia lyase and protease. The area under the disease progress curve (AUDPC) was calculated with the data of severity. All treatments had reduced AUDPC compared to the inoculated control. Fungicides acibenzolar-S-methyl, pyraclostrobin, and pyraclostrobin + methiran had more satisfactory results in reducing the severity of bacterial spot on tomato. The products based on pyraclostrobin together with acibenzolar-S-methyl induced enzymatic activities of peroxidase, polyphenoloxidase and β-1,3 glucanase, indicating that these products may be related to the induction of resistance to bacterial spot on tomato plants.

O presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar a ação de fungicidas e antibiótico no controle da mancha bacteriana (Xanthomonas perforans) em tomate e na ativação de proteínas relacionada à patogênese. Para avaliação da severidade da doença foi utilizada o híbrido de tomate "AP529". Os tratamentos consistiram da pulverização com acibenzolar-S-metil, fluazinam, piraclostrobina, piraclostrobina + methiran, oxicloreto de cobre, oxicloreto de cobre + mancozeb e oxitetraciclina, além de uma testemunha inoculada e uma testemunha não inoculada. Após três dias do tratamento, as plantas foram inoculadas com a bactéria X. perforans (10(6) UFC/mL). Discos foliares foram coletadas para avaliação das enzimas peroxidase, polifenoloxidase, β-1,3 glucanase, fenilalanina amonia liase e protease. Com os dados da severidade foi calculada a Área Abaixo da Curva de Progresso da Doença (AACPD). Todos os tratamentos apresentaram redução da AACPD em relação à testemunha inoculada. Os fungicidas acibenzolar-S-metil, piraclostrobina e piraclostrobina + methiran tiveram resultados mais satisfatórios na redução da severidade da mancha bacteriana em tomateiro. Os produtos à base de piraclostrobina juntamente com acibenzolar-S-metil induziram as atividades enzimáticas de peroxidase, polifenoloxidase e β-1,3 glucanase, evidenciando que estes produtos podem estar relacionados à indução de resistência à mancha bactéria em plantas de tomateiro.

Em 2005, foi constatada em dois campos comerciais de tomate no Estado de São Paulo, a ocorrência da queima bacteriana, causada por Pseudomonas cichorii. Em vista disso, foram desenvolvidos estudos visando a determinação da gama de hospedeiros de isolados de Pseudomonas cichorii (IBSBF 2309 e IBSBF 2323), obtidos de tomateiro, provenientes de campos comerciais localizados nos municípios de Bragança Paulista e Mogi Guaçú, SP. Plantas de abobrinha, alface, beldroega, berinjela, beterraba, cenoura, couvebrócolo, datura, fumo, girassol, jiló, melão, pepino, petúnia, pimentão, rabanete, repolho, rúcula, salsa e tomateiro foram inoculadas por pulverização, separadamente, com os dois isolados de P. cichorii de tomateiro e um isolado de girassol (GIR-1). Os isolados IBSBF 2309 e IBSBF 2323 foram patogênicos à beldroega, datura, girassol, pimentão e tomate; GIR-1 foi patogênico apenas à beldroega, datura e girassol, não sendo patogênico ao pimentão e ao tomateiro. No Brasil não se conhecem fontes de resistência dentro do gênero Lycopersicon ou a reação de cultivares de tomateiros a esta bactéria. Vinte e oito genótipos de tomateiro provenientes do Banco de Germoplasma da empresa Sakata Seed Sudamerica Ltda., foram avaliados quanto a reação aos isolados IBSBF 2309 e IBSBF 2323 de P. cichorii, pelo método de inoculação nas folhas. Os maiores níveis de resistência foram observados em AF 11768, AF 2521, AF 11766, AF 11772, AF 229, AF 5719-1 e AF 8162. O genótipo AF 5719-1, que possui o gene Pto, que confere resistência a P. syringae pv. tomato, apresentou um bom nível de resistência a P. cichorii. A identificação de genótipos que apresentem bons níveis de resistência a este patógeno é importante para utilização em programas de melhoramento genético do tomateiro, visando a incorporação de genes de resistência a P. cichorii.

The occurrence of the bacterial blight, caused by Pseudomonas cichorii, was observed in two commercial tomato fields in the State of São Paulo in 2005. In view of this, studies were carried out in order to determine the host range of Pseudomonas cichorii isolates (IBSBF 2309 and IBSBF 2323), obtained from tomato plants at commercial fields located in the cities of Bragança Paulista and Mogi Guaçú, SP, Brazil. Caserta pumpkin, lettuce, purslane, eggplant, beet, broccoli, carrot, Jimson weed, sunflower, tobacco, scarlet eggplant, melon, cucumber, petunia, green pepper, radish, cabbage, arugula, parsley, and tomato plants were spray-inoculated separately with two isolates of P. cichorii obtained from tomato and one from sunflower (GIR-1). The isolates IBSBF 2309 and IBSBF 2323 were pathogenic to purslane, Jimson weed, sunflower, green pepper, and tomato; GIR-1 was only pathogenic to purslane, Jimson weed, and sunflower, but not pathogenic to green pepper or tomato. In Brazil, no sources of resistance to this bacterium are known within the Lycopersicon genus. The reaction of tomato cultivars to the bacterium is also unknown. Twenty-eight tomato genotypes from the Sakata Seed Sudamerica Ltda. Germplasm Bank were evaluated for their reaction to P. cichorii isolates IBSBF 2309 and IBSBF 2323, using the leaf inoculation method. The highest resistance levels were observed in tomato genotypes AF 11768, AF 2521, AF 11766, AF 11772, AF 229, AF 5719-1, and AF 8162. The genotype AF 5719-1, wich has the Pto gene imparting resistance to P. syringae pv. tomato, showed a good level of resistance to P. cichorii. The identification of genotypes with good levels of resistance to this pathogen is important, since they represent potential resources to be used in tomato breeding programs for incorporation of resistance genes against P. cichorii.

O crestamento bacteriano comum do feijoeiro causado por sobrevivência e disseminação da Xap, a semente representa o mais Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli (Xap) é a principal doença eficiente. A qualidade sanitária de 34 amostras de sementes de feijoeiro do feijoeiro comum no Brasil. O patógeno encontra-se disseminado produzidas no estado do Paraná, nas safras 1998/99 e 1999, foram em todas as regiões produtoras do país, porém com maior importância avaliadas quanto à presença de Xap em macerados de sementes nos estados do Paraná, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo e na região do Brasil plaqueados em meio semi-seletivo. Cinqüenta por cento dos lotes de Central, sobretudo na safra das águas. Dentre os vários meios de sementes foram portadores de Xap com incidência de 0,1% a 1,7%.

The common bacterial blight of bean, caused by Xanthomonas effective means of survival and dissemination of the Xap. The health axonopodis pv. phaseoli (Xap), is a major disease of common beans quality of 34 samples of seeds lots of common beans produced in the in Brazil. Even though this pathogen is disseminated in all production state of Paraná during 1998/99 and 1999 were evaluated to the presence regions of the country, it has caused major damages in the states of of Xap in seed macerates plated on a semi-selective culture medium. Paraná, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and in Central Region of Brazil, Fifty percent of the seed lots were carrying out by Xap with an particularly during the rainy season. Infected bean seeds are most incidence range of 0.1% to 1.7%.

O presente trabalho teve por objetivo avaliar, sob condições de casa de vegetação, o efeito de lodo de esgoto (LE) na redução da severidade de murcha-de-curtobacterium em feijoeiro, cultivar Pérola, e no desenvolvimento das plantas (massa seca da parte aérea). No primeiro ensaio foram empregadas as doses de LE: 0; 2,5; 5,0; 7,5 e 10%, e no segundo ensaio as doses de LE: 0; 0,5; 1,0; 1,5; 2,0 e 2,5% incorporados em solo com pH previamente corrigido e adubado com fertilizantes minerais na dose recomendada para a cultura. Nos dois ensaios foram conduzidas plantas não-inoculadas com o patógeno. Não foi verificado o efeito do lodo na redução da severidade dos sintomas da doença, bem como na massa seca da parte aérea das plantas inoculadas. Concentrações superiores à 5% de LE incorporado ao substrato foram fitotóxicos às plantas de feijoeiro, reduzindo a massa seca da parte aérea.

This work was aimed at evaluating the effect of different sewage sludge concentrations (SS) on the reduction of the severity of curtobacterium wilt in bean plants (Pérola cultivar), and on plant development (dry mass of the above-ground part of plants), in two assays under greenhouse conditions. In the first assay, SS doses of 0, 2.5, 5.0, 7.5, and 10% were used. For the second assay, SS doses were 0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 2.5%, incorporated in soil, with previously corrected pH and added with chemical fertilizers at the rate recommended for the crop. Plants that had not been inoculated with the pathogen were maintained in both assays. No efficacy was verified for the different SS doses studied in the assays on the reduction of disease severity symptoms, as well as on dry mass of inoculated plants. Concentrations of SS incorporated to the substrate higher than 5% were toxic to bean plants, reducing dry mass of plants.
