ABSTRACT Background Pancreatic cancer mortality is greater in countries with a high Human Development Index (HDI). This study analyzed pancreatic cancer mortality rates trends, and their correlation with HDI in Brazil over 40 years. Methods: Data on pancreatic cancer mortality in Brazil between 1979 and 2019 were obtained from the Mortality Information System (SIM). Age-standardized mortality rates (ASMR) and Annual Average Percent Change (AAPC) were calculated. Pearson’s correlation test was applied to compare mortality rates and HDI for three periods: 1986-1995 was correlated with HDI of 1991, 1996-2005 with HDI of 2000, and 2006-2015 with HDI of 2010; and to the correlation of AAPC versus the percentage change in HDI from 1991 to 2010. Results: A total of 209,425 deaths from pancreatic cancer were reported in Brazil, with an annual increase of 1.5% in men and 1.9% in women. There was an upward trend for mortality in most Brazilian states, with the highest trends observed in the North and Northeast states. A positive correlation between pancreatic mortality and HDI was observed over the three decades (r>0.80, P<0.05) and also between AAPC and HDI improvement by sex (r=0.75 for men and r=0.78 for women, P<0.05). Conclusion There was an upward trend in pancreatic cancer mortality in Brazil for both sexes, but rates among women were higher. Mortality trends were higher in states with a higher percentage improvement in HDI, such as the North and Northeast states.

RESUMO Contexto A mortalidade por câncer de pâncreas é maior em países com alto Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano (IDH). Este estudo analisou as taxas e tendências de mortalidade por câncer de pâncreas e correlacionou-as com o IDH no Brasil no período de 40 anos. Métodos: Os dados sobre mortalidade por câncer de pâncreas no Brasil, entre 1979 e 2019, foram extraídos do Sistema de Informações sobre Mortalidade (SIM). As taxas de mortalidade padronizadas por idade e variação percentual média anual (AAPC) foram calculadas. O teste de correlação de Pearson foi aplicado para comparar as taxas de mortalidade e IDH em três períodos: 1986-1995 foi correlacionado com o IDH de 1991, 1996-2005 com IDH 2000 e 2006-2015 com IDH 2010; e a correlação da AAPC versus o percentual de variação do IDH de 1991 a 2010. Resultados: Foram notificados 209.425 óbitos por câncer de pâncreas no Brasil no período de 1979 a 2019, com aumento de 1,5% ao ano em homens e de 1,9% em mulheres. Houve tendência de aumento da mortalidade na maioria dos estados brasileiros, com maiores tendências nos estados das regiões Norte e Nordeste. Foi observada uma correlação positiva na mortalidade por câncer de pâncreas e o IDH ao longo de três décadas (r>0,80, P<0,05); também, entre o AAPC e o incremento do IHD entre 1991 e 2010 (r=0,75 para homens e r=0,78 para mulheres, P<0,05). Conclusão: Houve tendência crescente da mortalidade por câncer de pâncreas no Brasil, em ambos os sexos, porém maior entre as mulheres. As tendências de mortalidade foram maiores nos estados com maior percentual de incremento do IDH, como estados das regiões Norte e Nordeste.

Abstract The aim of this study is to report an original case series of synchronous jawbone diseases. Data of patients seen over 13 years were extracted from the files of three Oral Radiology and Pathology diagnostic centers in Brazil. The clinical, radiographic, and laboratory characteristics were tabulated and analyzed by the authors; the patients were described according to lesion type. Seventy-two synchronous jawbone diseases were included in this study. Florid osseous dysplasia, Gorlin-Goltz syndrome, and cherubism were the most frequent disorders reported in this case series. In addition, the posterior mandible area was the main site of manifestation. Florid osseous dysplasia and Gorlin-Goltz syndrome represented two-thirds of our samples. With the utilization of adequate demographic, clinical, and radiologic information, it is possible to diagnose most of the synchronous lesions of jawbones. Sometimes, however, we need complementary exams, such as histopathologic and biochemical analysis or dosing of calcium, phosphorus, and alkaline phosphatase.

Resumo Lesões Cervicais Não Cariosas (LCNC) são defeitos do tecido dentário, não relacionados à cárie, frequentemente observados na prática odontológica. O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar os efeitos da profundidade e espessura da dentina de LCNC na resposta à dor dentária por meio de testes de diagnóstico clínico. 86 dentes de 14 pacientes com LCNC foram avaliados por: profundidade da LCNC, testes clínicos (estímulo evaporativo, para detectar níveis de dor de hipersensibilidade dentinária, teste térmico frio para classificar a saúde pulpar, estímulos percussivos para avaliação do tecido perirradicular e tomografia computadorizada de feixe cônico (TCFC), para avaliação da espessura de dentina remanescente (EDR). Em termos de profundidade, a amostra foi dividida em dois grupos: G1- dentes com LCNCs ≤1,0mm e G2- dentes com LCNCs entre 1,1-2,0 mm. Os dados de dor dentária foram comparados pelo teste de Mann-Whitney e a EDR pelo teste t-Student e correlações pelo teste de Pearson (p <0,05). A profundidade da LCNC não influencia a resposta da dor dentária ao estímulo evaporativo (p = 0,129, teste térmico frio (p = 0,125), teste diagnóstico clínico de percussão vertical (p = 0,317) e horizontal (p = 0,119), porém o G1 apresentou maior EDR (p <0,001) e o teste de correlação mostrou que LCNC mais profunda apresenta menor EDR (p = 0,011 / r = -0,273). Conclusão: Dentes com LCNC de até 2mm de profundidade apresenta níveis semelhantes de dor para hipersensibilidade dentinária, pulpar e saúde perirradicular, independente da profundidade da LCNC. Entretanto, lesões com profundidade ≤1,0mmin apresentaram mais EDR nos achados tomográficos.

Abstract Non-carious Cervical Lesions (NCCL) are dental tissue defects, non-related to caries, frequently observed in the dental practice. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of NCCL on dentin depth and thickness and the response to dental pain by means of clinical diagnostic tests. 86 teeth from 14 patients with NCCL were assessed by: depth of NCCL, clinical tests (evaporative stimulus, to detect pain levels of dentin hypersensitivity, cold thermal test to classify pulp health, percussive stimuli to evaluate the periradicular tissues and cone beam computed tomography (tomography to evaluate remaining dentin thickness (RDT). In terms of depth, the sample was divided into two groups: G1- teeth with NCCLs ≤1.0mm and G2- teeth with NCCLs between 1.1-2.0 mm. Dental pain data were compared by Mann-Whitney test and RDT by Student’s t-test and correlations by the Pearson test (p<0.05). The depth of NCCL does not influence dental pain response to evaporative stimulus (p=0.129), cold thermal test (p = 0.125), vertical (p = 0.317) and horizontal (p = 0.119) percussion clinical diagnostic tests. However, G1 showed more RDT (p<0.001), and the correlation test showed that deeper NCCL presents smaller remaining dentin thickness (p=0.011/r=-0.273). In conclusion, tooth with NCCL up to 2mm-depth presents similar levels of pain for dentin hypersensitivity, pulp and periradicular tissue independent to NCCL depth, however, lesions with ≤1.0mm-depth showed greater RDT in tomographic findings.

Abstract The aim of this scoping review was to provide sufficient information about the effectiveness of ozone gas in virus inactivation of surfaces and objects under different environmental conditions. The review was performed according to the list of PRISMA SrC recommendations and the JBI Manual for Evidence Synthesis for Scoping Reviews. The review was registered in Open Science Framework (OSF). EMBASE (Ovid), Lilacs, LIVIVO, MEDLINE (PubMed), SciELO, Scopus and Web of Science were primary sources, and “gray literature” was searched in OpenGray and OpenThesis. A study was included if it reported primary data on the effect of ozone gas application for vehicle-borne and airborne virus inactivation. No language or publication date restriction was applied. The search was conduct on July 1, 2020. A total of 16,120 studies were screened, and after exclusion of noneligible studies, fifteen studies fulfilled all selection criteria. Application of ozone gas varied in terms of concentration, ozone exposure period and the devices used to generate ozone gas. Twelve studies showed positive results for inactivation of different virus types, including bacteriophages, SARS-CoV-2 surrogates and other vehicle-borne viruses. Most of the studies were classified as unclear regarding sponsorship status. Although most of the population has not yet been vaccinated against COVID-19, disinfection of environments, surfaces, and objects is an essential prevention strategy to control the spread of this disease. The results of this Scoping Review demonstrate that ozone gas is promising for viral disinfection of surfaces.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To analyze the impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the use of primary health care services to follow-up the child growth and development in Brazil. METHOD A total of 7.9 million consultations of children (0–2 years old) across Brazil between March 2017 and May 2020 were studied. Differences between medians were analyzed using non-parametric tests, the Global Moran Index (IGM) and the Local Indicators of Spatial Association. RESULTS During the initial period of the pandemic, the median number of consultations was significantly lower than the same period in previous years, reducing more than 50%. The drop in 2020, compared to 2019, ranged from 49% to 62.2% across all regions of the country, except the South. The percentage reduction registered in 2019–2020 showed significant spatial autocorrelation (IGM = 0.20; p = 0.04), with the presence of low-low (states with reduction between 29% and 51%) and high-high (states with reduction between 55% and 69%) spatial clusters. CONCLUSION The covid-19 pandemic impacted the follow-up of child growth and development in primary health care services in Brazil, with a geographically uneven reduction.

Resumo Foi avaliada a epidemiologia, hematologia e patologia das infecções por Leishmania spp., Toxoplasma gondii, Platynosomum illiciens, vírus da imunodeficiência felina (FIV) e vírus da leucemia felina (FeLV) e das coinfecções em gatos não domiciliados em uma área endêmica para leishmaniose. O diagnóstico foi realizado por exames sorológicos e necropsia. Foram descritas lesões macroscópicas e achados histopatológicos. Usaram-se imuno-histoquímica e hibridização cromogênica in situ para detecção de L. infantum. Encontrou-se infecção em 27 dos 50 gatos amostrados, dentre eles, 14 apresentavam coinfecções. Foi observada forte correlação entre esplenomegalia e linfadenomegalia com FeLV, e associação entre lesões hepáticas e caquexia com parasitismo por P. illiciens. Além disso, foi encontrado um aumento significativo na contagem de monócitos nos animais infectados pelo FeLV e uma diminuição na contagem de hemácias nos animais infectados pelo FIV. Formas amastigotas de Leishmania spp. e alterações teciduais foram detectadas em órgãos linfoides de um animal coinfectado com P. illiciens, T. gondii e FIV. O poliparasitismo registrado em gatos errantes do Centro-Oeste brasileiro deve ser considerado nas estratégias de controle de zoonoses. Além disso, gatos errantes de Campo Grande podem ser fontes de infecção de FIV, FeLV e P. illiciens para populações de gatos domiciliados.

Abstract We evaluated the epidemiological, hematological, and pathological data of Leishmania spp., Toxoplasma gondii, Platynosomum illiciens, feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), and feline leukemia virus (FeLV) infections and the coinfections in stray cats of an endemic area for leishmaniasis. The diagnosis was performed by serological tests and necropsy. We described gross lesions and histopathological findings. We used immunohistochemistry and chromogenic in situ hybridization for L. infantum detection. We found infection in 27 out of 50 sampled cats, among them, 14 presented coinfections. A strong correlation between splenomegaly and lymphadenomegaly with FeLV, and an association between hepatic lesions and cachexia with parasitism due to P. illiciens were observed. Moreover, we found a significant increase in the monocyte count in the FeLV-infected and a decrease in the red blood cell count in the FIV-infected animals. Amastigote forms of Leishmania spp. and tissue changes were detected in lymphoid organs of an animal coinfected with P. illiciens, T. gondii, and FIV. Polyparasitism recorded in stray cats of the Brazilian Midwest should be considered in effective control strategies for public health diseases. Moreover, stray cats of Campo Grande may be a source of infection of FIV, FeLV and P. illiciens for populations of domiciled cats.

RESUMO Introdução: Durante o tratamento ortodôntico, muitos pacientes solicitam, também, alteração na cor dos seus dentes. Objetivo: O presente estudo avaliou diferentes produtos clareadores e branqueadores, quanto à sua eficácia sob os braquetes ortodônticos. Métodos: 70 incisivos bovinos foram aleatoriamente divididos em cinco grupos (n = 14): C) dentifrício não branqueador (controle); WTsi) dentifrício branqueador com sílica hidratada; WThp) dentifrício branqueador com peróxido de hidrogênio a 2%; OB) clareamento no consultório e HB) clareamento caseiro. Usando um espectrofotômetro Easyshade, foram avaliadas duas áreas na superfície vestibular dos dentes: sob o braquete (experimental) e ao redor do braquete (controle). Para análise estatística, foram usados os testest pareado, ANOVA e Tukey. Resultados: As comparações intragrupos demonstraram que, nos grupos C, WThp e HB, ocorreram diferenças estatisticamente significativas nas alterações de cor do esmalte (ΔEab) entre as áreas sob o braquete e ao redor do braquete (C: sob o braquete = 7,97 ± 2,35, ao redor do braquete = 2,86 ± 0,81, p< 0,01; WThp: sob o braquete = 4,69 ± 2,98, ao redor do braquete = 2,05 ± 1,41, p< 0,01; HB: sob o braquete = 7,41 ± 2,89, ao redor do braquete = 9,86 ± 3,32, p= 0,02). Os grupos WTsi, OB e HB demonstraram semelhanças na percepção do clareamento (ΔWID) entre as áreas avaliadas. As comparações intergrupos demonstraram que, nas áreas sob os braquetes, as alterações de cor (ΔEab) foram semelhantes para os grupos, com exceção do WThp (C = 7,97 ± 2,35; WTsi = 8,54 ± 3,63; WThp = 4,69 ± 2,98; OB = 9,31 ± 4,32; HB = 7,41 ± 2,89; p< 0,01). Conclusões: As alterações na cor dos dentes foram efetivas para os procedimentos testados nos grupos WTsi, OB e HB na presença de braquetes metálicos ortodônticos.

ABSTRACT Introduction: Many patients wearing orthodontic appliances request alterations in the shade of their teeth during orthodontic treatment. Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of different products for bleaching and whitening under orthodontic brackets. Methods: Seventy bovine incisors were randomly divided into five groups (n = 14): C) non-whitening toothpaste (control); WTsi) hydrated silica whitening toothpaste; WThp) 2% hydrogen peroxide whitening toothpaste; OB) in-office bleaching; and HB) at-home bleaching. Two buccal surface areas were evaluated using the Easyshade spectrophotometer: under the metal bracket (experimental) and around the bracket (control). The paired t-test, ANOVA, and Tukey tests were applied for statistical analysis. Results: Intragroup comparisons showed that in groups C, WThp and HB, there were statistically significant differences in the enamel color changes (ΔEab) between under and around the bracket areas (C - under bracket = 7.97 ± 2.35, around bracket = 2.86 ± 0.81, p< 0.01; WThp - under bracket = 4.69 ± 2.98, around bracket = 2.05 ± 1.41, p< 0.01; HB - under bracket = 7.41 ± 2.89, around bracket: 9.86 ± 3.32, p= 0.02). Groups WTsi, OB and HB presented similar perception of tooth whiteness (ΔWID) between the tested areas. Intergroup comparisons demonstrated that under the bracket area, the color change (ΔEab) was similar for all groups, except WThp (C = 7.97 ± 2.35; WTsi = 8.54 ± 3.63; WThp = 4.69 ± 2.98; OB = 9.31 ± 4.32; HB = 7.41 ± 2.89; p< 0.01). Conclusions: The dental color changes were effective for the products tested in groups WTsi, OB and HB in the presence of metallic orthodontic brackets.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito clareador e físico-químico no esmalte de luz violeta e ozônio, associado ou não ao peróxido de hidrogênio, comparado a 35% de peróxido de hidrogênio. Blocos de esmalte-dentina de molares humanos foram alocados aleatoriamente para receber um dos seguintes protocolos de clareamento (n = 15): (HP) peróxido de hidrogênio a 35%, (VL) luz violeta, (OZ) ozônio, a associação entre peróxido de hidrogênio com ozônio (HP+OZ) ou luz violeta (HP+VL). Todos os protocolos foram realizados em duas sessões, com intervalo de 48 horas entre eles. A cor (espectrofotômetro) e a composição mineral (espectroscopia Raman) do dente foram medidas antes e após os procedimentos de clareamento. As alterações de cor foram calculadas por ΔEab e ΔE00, e o índice de brancura foram calculados. A rugosidade da superfície das amostras clareadas foi medida por microscópio de força atômica. Os dados foram analisados por ANOVA One way ou ANOVA two way de medidas repetidas seguida pelo teste de Tukey (α = 0,05). Os menores valores de alterações de cor (medidos por WI, ΔEab ou ΔE00) foram observados para VL e OZ usados na ausência de HP. VL associada ao HP não foi capaz de melhorar as alterações de cor observadas com o uso do HP, mas a combinação de OZ e HP produz as maiores alterações de cor. Independentemente do protocolo de clareamento, o esmalte clareado apresentou maiores teores de PO4 e CO3 -2 do que os observados inicialmente. Não foi observada diferença significativa entre os protocolos de clareamento testados em relação à rugosidade da superfície do esmalte. É possível concluir que a VL ou o OZ tiveram efeitos reduzidos na mudança de cor do esmalte quando usados sozinhos. A terapia com OZ melhorou o efeito clareador do HP.

Abstract: This study investigated the bleaching effectiveness and the physicochemical effects on enamel of violet light and ozone, associate or not to hydrogen peroxide, compared to 35%-hydrogen peroxide. Enamel-dentin blocks from human molars were randomly allocated to receive one of the following bleaching protocols (n=15): (HP) 35%-hydrogen peroxide, (VL) violet light, (OZ) ozone, the association between hydrogen peroxide with ozone (OZ+HP) or violet light (VL+HP). All protocols were performed in two sessions with a 48h interval. Color (spectrophotometer) and mineral composition (Raman spectroscopy) were measured before and after the bleaching. Color changes were calculated by ΔEab, ΔE00, and whitening index (WI). The surface roughness was measured with an atomic force microscope. Data were analyzed by One-way or Two-way repeated measure ANOVA followed by the Tukey’s test (α = 0.05). The lowest color change values (either measured by WI, ΔEab, or ΔE00) were observed for VL and OZ used with no HP. Violet light associate with HP was unable to improve the color changes observed for the peroxide alone, in combination with OZ and HP, the highest color changes were verified. Regardless of bleaching protocol, the bleached enamel presented higher contents of PO4 and CO3 -2 than those observed at baseline. All bleaching protocols resulted in similar enamel surface roughness. Both the VL and the OZ caused reduced effects on the enamel color change when used alone. The ozone therapy improved the bleaching effect in the group that received the association of HP.

Resumo Objetivos: avaliar a assistência pré-natal prestada a gestantes de baixo risco usuárias do Sistema Único de Saúde da cidade de Joinville – SC. Métodos: trata-se de um estudo observacional transversal realizado de março de 2018 a fevereiro de 2019, mediante entrevista e análise do Cartão da Gestante de puérperas maiores de 18 anos, procedentes de Joinville, que realizaram o pré-natal no SUS, sendo excluídas puérperas desistentes. Avaliou-se a assistência pré-natal mediante critérios preconizados pelo Programa de Humanização no Pré-natal e Nascimento. Resultados: foram entrevistadas 683 puérperas. Os critérios com maiores índices de adequação foram acessibilidade (99,6%), início precoce do pré-natal (92,7%) e realização de 6 ou mais consultas (87,1%) e os critérios que apresentaram as menores taxas de adequação foram o conjunto de orientações (17,7%) e os exames do terceiro e primeiro trimestre (42,5% e 63,5% respectivamente). Conclusão: conclui-se que a assistência pré-natal realizada pelo SUS da cidade de Joinville, não obstante da acessibilidade praticamente universal, do início precoce e da prevalência de puérperas com mais de 6 consultas, demonstrou declínio acentuado na análise dos indicadores preconizados.

Abstract Objectives: to evaluate prenatal care provided to low-risk pregnant women users of the Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) (Public Health System) in the city of Joinville, SC. Methods: this is a cross-sectional observational study carried out from March 2018 to February 2019, through interview and analysis of the Pregnant Card of puerperal over 18 years old, from Joinville, who underwent prenatal care at SUS, excluding recent given up puerperal. Prenatal care was evaluated according to the recommended criteria by the Prenatal and Birth Humanization Program. Results: 683 mothers were interviewed. The criteria with the highest levels of adequacy were accessibility (99.6%), early initiation on prenatal care (92.7%) and 6 or more consultations (87.1%) and the criteria with the lowest rates of adequacy were the set of guidelines (17.7%) and the third and first trimester exams (42.5% and 63.5% respectively). Conclusion: it is concluded that the prenatal care provided by SUS in the city of Joinville, despite the almost universal accessibility, the early onset and the prevalence of puerperal women with more than 6 consultations, showed a sharp decline in the analysis of the recommended indicators.

Resumo Este estudo investigou os efeitos da inibição de oxigênio e dos procedimentos de acabamento/polimento nas propriedades das resinas compostas. Foram avaliadas uma resina composta bulk fill e duas resinas convencionais (nanoparticulada e microhíbrida). Os espécimes foram confeccionados, variando o tratamento de superfície: controle, sem tratamento; glicerina (inibidor de oxigênio); acabamento e polimento; glicerina + acabamento e polimento. O grau de conversão (GC) foi medido pela Espectroscopia de Infravermelho Transformada de Fourier (FTIR) imediatamente e após 15 dias da confecção dos espécimes (n=5). Os índices de alteração de cor ΔEab, ΔE00 e opacidade foram avaliados por meio de espectrofotômetro, após 15 dias de imersão no café, utilizando o sistema CIELAB (n=5). Os dados da alteração da cor foram analisados pelos testes ANOVA de dois fatores e Tukey (α=0,05) e a opacidade por ANOVA de medidas repetidas. O uso de glicerina aumentou significativamente o GC, no entanto, não teve influência sobre os valores ΔEab e ΔE00. O acabamento e o polimento reduziram os valores de ΔEab e ΔE00, independentemente da resina composta. A resina microhíbrida apresentou maior opacidade, seguida pela nanoparticula e bulk-fill, independentemente do tratamento de superfície. O acabamento e polimento resultou em menor grau de conversão das resinas compostas se comparado ao uso de um agente inibidor de oxigênio (glicerina), porém apresenta resultados similares para a pigmentação pelo café.

Abstract This study investigated the effects of oxygen inhibition and finishing/polishing procedures on the composite resin properties. One bulk-fill and two conventional composite resins (nanoparticle and microhybrid) were evaluated. Specimens were prepared using 4 surface treatments: control, no treatment; Gly, oxygen inhibition with glycerin; FP, finishing and polishing; Gly + FP, glycerin followed by finishing and polishing. The degree of conversion (DC) was measured using Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) immediately and after 15 days (n=5). Color stability (ΔEab, and ΔE00) and opacity were evaluated using a spectrophotometer after 15 days of immersion in coffee, using the CIELAB system (n=5). Data were analyzed by two-way ANOVA and Tukey tests (α=0.05) and opacity by two-way repeated-measures ANOVA. Glycerin usage increased significantly the DC however had no influence on the ΔEab, ΔE00 and, opacity values. Finishing and polishing reduced ΔEab and ΔE00 values, regardless of composite resins. Microhybrid showed higher opacity, followed by the nanoparticle and bulk fill, regardless of surface treatment. Post-polymerization polishing procedures resulted in lower conversion than using an oxygen inhibitor agent (Gly condition), but similar staining caused by coffee.

ABSTRACT: Land use and tillage practices may change soil structure and undermine sustainable agriculture; however, such changes are hardly identified in the short term. In this sense, agroforestry systems have been used to reduce soil degradation and promote sustainable production in coffee plantations. These areas are expected to have well-structured soils and hence improved root distribution. This study aimed to evaluate soil quality by the morphostructural and root distribution analyses comparing open-grown coffee and coffee in agroforestry systems with rubber trees for 19 years, in an Oxisol in northern Paraná State (Brazil). Treatments consisted of open-grown coffee (OG), coffee partially shaded by rubber trees (PSH), and coffee fully shaded by rubber trees (FSH). The mapping of morphostructural features and soil resistance to penetration in “cultural profile” walls identified changes in soil structure resulting from different tillage systems. Root distribution was better in coffee plants grown in PSH and FSH systems. At greater depths, cultural profiles of FSH and PSH showed a larger numbers of roots compared to OG. Among the three systems, PSH provided a better environment for root growth and distribution. This result could be attributed to the high biological activity and interaction between roots and aggregates in that profile. The FSH agroforestry system provided less compact morphological structures and more roots throughout the soil profile. The agroforestry systems presented fewer soil structural changes by tillage operations and lower values of soil penetration resistance. Coffee root distribution was an effective indicator of soil quality and consistent with the morphostructural characterization of cultural profile.

RESUMO Objetivo: identificar as fontes de apoio informacional utilizadas por famílias de crianças com Transtorno do Espectro Autista. Método: pesquisa qualitativa e descritiva, realizada em três instituições de saúde e três de ensino no Paraná, Ceará e Amapá. Participaram 55 familiares que responderam a entrevistas semiestruturadas, entre setembro de 2018 e 2019. Utilizaram-se análise categorial temática e os recursos do Qualitative Data Analysis Software. Resultados: as famílias encontram apoio informacional em diversas fontes, tanto formal quanto informal, como internet, entre outras (livros, Workshops, cursos, televisão). Conclusão: as famílias utilizam diferentes fontes de informação, porém muitas vezes incompletas e contraditórias, as quais podem geram uma nova demanda aos profissionais de saúde, de forma a integrar o acesso às informações, no processo de cuidar em saúde, uma vez que devem ser considerados os benefícios e as fragilidades que isso representa para sociedade.

ABSTRACT Objective: To identify the sources of informational support used by families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Method: Qualitative and descriptive research carried out in three health institutions and three teaching institutions in Paraná, Ceará and Amapá. 55 family members participated who responded to semi-structured interviews, between September 2018 and 2019. Thematic categorical analysis and the resources of Qualitative Data Analysis Software were used. Results: Families find informational support from several sources, both formal and informal, such as the internet and other sources (books, Workshops, courses, television). Conclusion: Families use different sources of information, however, often incomplete and contradictory, which can generate a new demand on health professionals, in order to integrate access to information in the health care process, since they must be considering benefits and weaknesses that this represents for society.

RESUMEN Objetivo: Identificar las fuentes de apoyo informativo utilizado por familias de niños con trastorno del espectro autista. Método: Investigación cualitativa y descriptiva realizada en tres instituciones de salud y tres instituciones de enseñanza en Paraná, Ceará y Amapá. Participaron 55 miembros de la familia que respondieron a entrevistas semiestructuradas, entre septiembre de 2018 y 2019. Se utilizó el análisis categórico temático y los recursos del Qualitative Data Analysis Software. Resultados: Las familias encuentran apoyo informativo en diversas fuentes, tanto formales como informales, como en internet y otras fuentes (libros, talleres de trabajo, cursos, televisión). Conclusión: Las familias utilizan diferentes fuentes de información, pero muchas veces incompletas y contradictorias, lo que puede generar una nueva demanda de profesionales de la salud para integrar el acceso a la información en el proceso de atención de la salud, ya que deben ser considerado los beneficios y debilidades que esto representa para la sociedad.

Resumo Durante a germinação das sementes, há produção de espécies reativas de oxigênio, as quais, de maneira controlada, são importantes para a sinalização celular e proteção contra patógenos, mas, em excesso, prejudicam a germinação. Portanto, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a ação de diferentes substâncias sobre mecanismos antioxidantes e ativação enzimática em sementes de repolho. Substâncias como ácido kójico, timol e tirosol foram utilizadas para embebição das sementes de repolho juntamente com água destilada e um tratamento controle sem embebição, com posterior avaliação por meio do teste de germinação, ruptura do endosperma, vigor e protrusão da radícula, e análises bioquímicas em plântulas por atividade das enzimas ascorbato peroxidase, catalase, superóxido dismutase e α-amilase. Os dados foram submetidos à análise de variância e ao teste de comparação de médias de LSD. Sementes tratadas com tirosol apresentaram maiores resultados na ruptura do endosperma, germinação e vigor, e o desenvolvimento radicular aumentou com o uso dos antioxidantes. Para a atividade de enzimas antioxidantes em plântulas, apenas o ácido kójico apresentou aumento na enzima superóxido dismutase. Houve uma redução na atividade da enzima catalase com o uso de timol e tirosol, em comparação às avaliações de sementes secas. Para o tratamento com tirosol, a atividade da enzima ascorbato peroxidase não foi detectada e as sementes embebidas em água apresentaram maior atividade da α-amilase. Os usos de substâncias antioxidantes apresentaram efeitos benéficos nas sementes de repolho, e a embebição com o tirosol levou à melhor qualidade fisiológica, com ativação de mecanismos de defesa antioxidante durante a germinação.

Abstract During seed germination there is production of reactive oxygen species, which, in a controlled way, are important to cell signaling and protection against pathogens, but, in excess, impair germination. Therefore, the objective of this study was to assess the action of different compounds on antioxidant mechanisms and enzymatic activation in cabbage seeds. Compounds like kojic acid, thymol and tyrosol were used to imbibe the cabbage seeds together with distilled water, and a control treatment without imbibition was used as well, with subsequent assessment by means of germination test, endosperm rupture, vigor, radicle protrusion, and assessment of seedling biochemical analyses by the activity of enzymes ascorbate peroxidase, catalase, superoxide dismutase and α-amylase. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and to the LSD means comparison test. Seeds treated with tyrosol presented higher results on the rupture of the endosperm, germination and vigor, and root development increased with use antioxidants. For the activity of antioxidant enzymes in seedlings, only kojic acid showed increase in the superoxide dismutase activity. There was also a reduction in the catalase activity with the use of thymol and tyrosol compounds compared to dry-seed assessments. After tyrosol treatment, ascorbate peroxidase enzyme was not detected, and water-imbibed seeds showed higher α-amylase activity. The use of antioxidant compounds has beneficial effects on cabbage seeds, and soaking with tyrosol led to better physiological quality, with activation of antioxidant defense mechanisms during germination.

RESUMO Objetivou-se avaliar os parâmetros fisiológicos, as características produtivas, estruturais e composição química da Urochloa Brizantha cultivares BRS Paiaguás e BRS Piatã submetidos a dois períodos de diferimento e três momentos de utilização. Utilizou-se o delineamento de blocos completos casualizados, em esquema fatorial 2 x 2 x 3, sendo duas cultivares de gramíneas (capim-paiaguás e capim- piatã), dois períodos de diferimento (período chuvoso e transição chuvoso-seco) e três tempos de vedação (40, 80 e 120 dias). Observou-se que, dentro do período chuvoso, as gramíneas tiveram maior taxa de transpiração foliar quando utilizadas aos 40 dias de diferimento (1,66 µmol m2/s). Neste mesmo período, a condutância estomática foi detectada somente nas gramíneas utilizadas com menor tempo de vedação, apresentando média de 0,07 µmol m2/s. Em contrapartida, no período de transição, a concentração diminuiu para 0,02 µmol m2/s. De forma geral, a cultivar BRS Paiaguás apresentou menor teor de FDN. O menor tempo de vedação proporcionou maior produção de biomassa de forragem total durante o período da chuva, cerca de 2,78 vezes mais forragem que o mesmo pasto diferido durante o período de transição. De modo geral, ambos os períodos de diferimento e tempos de vedação causam efeitos nas características estruturais da pastagem, sendo que o diferimento no período de transição por um tempo de 40 e 80 dias pode ser uma estratégia para manutenção dos animais em períodos críticos.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to evaluate the physiological parameters, the productive characteristics, structural and chemical composition of Urochloa Brizantha cultivars BRS and BRS Piatã submitted to two deferment periods and three using times. The experimental design was randomized complete block design in a factorial scheme 2 x 2 x 3, being two grass cultivars (Paiaguás grass and Piatã grass), two deferment periods (rainy season and dry-rainy transition) and three sealing times (40, 80 and 120 days). It was observed that, in the rainy season, the grasses had higher leaf transpiration rate when used for 40 days of deferment (1.66 µmol m2/s). During the rainy season, the Stomatal conductance was detected only in the grasses used with shorter seal, with an average of 0.07 µmol m2/s. In contrast, in the period of transition, the concentration decreased to 0.02 µmol m2/s. In a general way, the BRS Paiaguás presented lower content of NDF. The shorter cycle provided greater biomass production of total forage during the period of rain, approximately 2.78 times more than the same pasture grass deferred during the transition period. Generally, the periods of deferment and moments of use cause effects on structural characteristics of pasture, being that the period of deferment of the transition period and used for 40 and 80 days may be a strategy for keeping animals in critical periods.
