Resumen Se reportan los primeros registros de dos especies de hormigas, i.e., Hypoponera opacior y Pseudomyrmex seminole y dos géneros, i.e., Acanthosticus y Mycetosoritis (Hymenoptera: Formicidae), asociados a etapas de descomposición de necrotrampas colocadas en una zona semiurbana del estado de Yucatán, México.

Abstract First records of two ant species, i.e., Hypoponera opacior and Pseudomyrmex seminole, and two genera, i.e., Acanthosticus, Mycetosoritis, associated with decaying stages of necrotramps established in a semi-urban area of Yucatan, Mexico.

ABSTRACT Background: Depressive symptomatology in health professionals associated with viral crises is highly prevalent globally, being its detection a priority. Therefore, the objective of this research was to analyze the convergent validity and internal consistency of the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-2) in healthcare professionals. Method: E-Health study where cross-sectional data was collected online (n = 725), from 281 general practitioners, 237 specialist doctors and 207 nurses during the Colombian quarantine, between April 20 and August 10, 2020. Average age 41.3 years (± 8.76). 38.4% were men (278) and 61.6% women (447). 66.1% of health personnel treated patients infected with coronavirus and 33.9% did not provide these services. The 9-item version of the PHQ was administered, validated in the Colombian population together with the 2-item version of the PHQ. Results: A high correlation was found between the scales (r = .860, P <0.001), demonstrating the convergent validity of the PHQ-2 to measure depressive symptomatology. The internal consistency of the PHQ-2 was adequate, with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.80 (I.C. = 0.76 - 0.83). Conclusions: The PHQ-2 has adequate psychometric standards of reliability and validity, so its rapid administration, easy qualification and interpretation, makes it a reliable and valid instrument for the rapid detection, without work overload, of depressive symptoms in doctors and nurses whether or not they care for patients with viral outbreaks.

RESUMEN: Introducción: La sintomatologia depresiva en profesionales de la salud asociado a crisis virales es de alta prevalencia a nivel global, siendo su detección una prioridad por lo cual, el objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la validez convergente y consistencia interna del cuestionario de salud del paciente-2 (PHQ-2) en profesionales sanitarios. Método: Estudio eSalud donde se recopilaron datos transversales en línea (n=725), de 281 médicos generales, 237 médicos especialistas y 207 enfermeras durante la cuarentena colombiana, entre el 20 de abril y el 10 de agosto de 2020. Edad promedio 41,3 años (± 8,76). El 38,4% eran hombres (278) y el 61.6% mujeres (447). El 66.1% del personal sanitario atendió pacientes contagiados por coronavirus y el 33,9% no prestó estos servicios. Se administró la versión de 9 ítems del PHQ, validada en población colombiana junto a la versión de 2 ítems del PHQ. Resultados: Se encontró una alta correlación entre las escalas (r=.860, P<0.001), demostrando la validez convergente del PHQ-2 para medir la sintomatología depresiva. La consistencia interna del PHQ-2 fue adecuada, con un Alpha de Cronbach de 0.80 (I.C.= 0.76 - 0.83). Conclusiones: El PHQ-2 presenta adecuados estándares psicométricos de confiabilidad y validez, por lo que su rápida administración, fácil calificación e interpretación, lo convierte en un instrumento confiable y valido para la detección rápida, sin sobrecargas laborales, de los síntomas depresivos en médicos y enfermeras que atiendan o no pacientes en condiciones de brotes virales.

Abstract Background: The prevalence of urolithiasis is 7-10% and has increased over the past years. Simple nephrectomy is, therefore, indicated when renal exclusion is associated with recurrent urinary tract infections and/or chronic pain. Objective: The aim of the study was to describe the surgical experience of laparoscopic nephrectomy (LPN) due to urolithiasis in Mexican South-east and which factors can predispose conversion to open surgery. Methods: This was a retrospective study including patients with renal exclusion secondary to urolithiasis, who underwent laparoscopic simple nephrectomy between 2016 and 2019. Results: Forty simple LPN for renal exclusion due to urolithiasis was performed between 2016 and 2019. Mean age was 47 ± 10.8 and 82.5% were female. The mean BMI was 30.2 ± 5 kg/m2, mean operative time was 165.2 ± 64. Conversion rate was 12.5% (n = 5). Conversion was significantly associated with abnormal hilum vascular anatomy (p = 0.001), hilum adherences (p = 0.001), and hydronephrosis (p = 0.001). Conclusion: LPN is a safe surgical technique for renal exclusion due to urolithiasis. Hydronephrosis, abnormal vascular anatomy, and the adherences that involved de hilum are the factors that could predictive conversion to open surgery.

Resumen Introducción: La prevalencia the urolitiasis es del 7-10% sin embargo a presentado un incremento del numero de casos en los ultimos años. La nefrectomia simple laparoscopica esta indicada en pacientes con exclusión renal asociado a cuadros repetitivos de infecciones en el tracto urinario y o dolor cronico a nivel fosa renal. Objetivo: Describir la experiencia de nefrectomia simple laparoscopica en pacientes con exclusion renal secundario litiasis en un hospital del sur de México, y que factores pueden predisponer la conversión a cirugia abierta. Materials y metodos: Estudio restrospectivo que incluyo pacientes con exclusion renal secundario a urolitiasis durante el periodo comprendido entre 2016 y 2019. Resultados: Se realizaron 40 nefrectomias simples laparoscopica durante el periodo comprendido 2016 y 2019 en paciente con exclusion renal asociada a litiasis. La media edad 47 ± 10.8 años, el 82.5% de los pacientes fueron del sexo femenino. La media de Indice de masa corporal fue de 30.2 ± 5 kg/m2, La tasa de conversion fue del 12.5% (n = 5), los factores que se asociaron a conversion a cirugia abierta fueron anormalidades dependientes del hilio vascular renal (p = 0.001)., adherencias dependientes del hilio renal (p = 0.001). e hidronefrosis (p = 0.001). Conclusión: La nefrectomia simple laparocopica es un procedimiento seguro en pacienres con exclusion renal secundaria a urolitiasis. Hidronefrosis, anormalidades dependientes del hilio vascular renal y adherencias que involucren el hilio renal son factores que pueden predisponer conversion a cirugia abierta.

Abstract Objective: To determine the clinical-surgical features of critical limb ischaemia (CLI) within the context of infection by SARS-CoV-2. Methods: Cross-sectional, retrospective, observational, descriptive study, with clinical data obtained from printed and electronic records of patients with CLI treated by the Angiology and Vascular Surgery Service of the General Hospital of Mexico in the period between January 2020 and July 2021. Results: We evaluated the data of 33 patients with critical limb ischaemia of which 15 were positive for SARS-CoV-2 in the period from January 2020 to July 2021, females were the most affected representing the 53.3% of the total, patients under 60 years old accounted for 26.67%. Twenty-six percent of the patients presented critical limb ischaemia without having previous comorbidities, 60% of these presented with an advanced state of the disease and a delay in specialised medical care of more than 6 hours after the onset of symptoms, which warranted a major amputation in 37% of cases, the lower extremities represented 90% of the affected anatomical regions. Conclusions: the outcomes in our study show that the incidence of critical limb ischaemia during the SARS-CoV2 pandemic period occurred in an atypical way in a segment of young patients and without known event-generating comorbidities. Thromboembolic events, probably associated with the hypercoagulable state generated by this infection, also evolved rapidly and aggressively from the onset of symptoms despite prompt treatment.

Abstract Objective: To report experience in a hospital in Mexico regarding oncological results in overall survival (OS) and specific cancer survival (SCS), the presence of recurrence in the management of residual masses after chemotherapy with lymphadenectomy retroperitoneal for 15 years. Method: Between 2004 and 2019, a retrospective study was carried out in a single centre with patients with a germ cell tumor diagnosis who have received first or second line of chemotherapy and who present retroperitoneal residual mass were included have performed RPLND. Sociodemographic characteristics were analyzed, overall and histological survival. Results: 346 patients had inclusion criteria, mean age was 27.6 years, the most affected testis was the left, the most frequent testicular histology was mixed germline. The most frequent retroperitoneal location was paraortic, the most frequent type of RPLND was standard, the most frequent histology was necrosis. Recurrence occurred in 24.2%, mean of 17.1 months, when analyzing individual factors, the most significant was the type of RPLND. The clinical stage, histology of the retroperitoneal tumor and type of RPLND influence mortality. Global follow up of 141 months, OS was 85.5% and SCS was 86.1%, mean of 139.9 months and 141 months respectively. Conclusions: RPLND is effective in survival and recurrence in advanced disease in patients who present postchemotherapy retroperitoneal tumor and although there is a clear benefit in the resection of retroperitoneal tumors in teratoma, there are conditioning factors that must be analyzed individually.

Resumen Objetivo: Reportar nuestra experiencia en supervivencia y recurrencia en el manejo de masas residuales posquimioterapia con linfadenectomía retroperitoneal durante 15 años. Método: Estudio retrospectivo de 2004 a 2019. Se incluyeron pacientes con diagnóstico de tumor de células germinales que habían recibido quimioterapia y presentaron una masa residual retroperitoneal en un solo centro y se les realizó linfadenectomía retroperitoneal. Se analizaron las características sociodemográficas, de supervivencia global e histológicas. Resultados: Cumplían los criterios de inclusión 346 pacientes, con una media de edad de 27.6 años. El testículo más afectado fue el izquierdo, y la histología testicular más frecuente fue germinal mixto. La localización retroperitoneal más frecuente fue paraaórtica, el tipo de linfadenectomía más frecuente fue la estándar y la histología más frecuente fue la necrosis. Se presentó recurrencia en el 24.2% de los pacientes, en una media de 17.1 meses; al analizar los factores individuales, el más significativo fue el tipo de linfadenectomía. El estadio clínico, la histología del tumor retroperitoneal y el tipo de linfadenectomía influyen en la mortalidad. El seguimiento global fue de 141 meses, la supervivencia global fue del 85.5% y la supervivencia específica del cáncer fue del 86.1%, con media de 139.9 y 141 meses, respectivamente. Conclusiones: La linfadenectomía retroperitoneal es efectiva en cuanto a supervivencia y recurrencia en la enfermedad avanzada en pacientes que presentan tumor retroperitoneal posquimioterapia, y aunque existe un claro beneficio en la resección de los tumores retroperitoneales en teratoma, existen factores condicionantes que deben ser analizados de manera individual.

Abstract The objective of the paper is to examine, from a theoretical perspective, the incidence of the money-investment-innovation triad in Schumpeter’s theory of development. In comparison with the circular flow, development implies the appearance of new agents and concepts. The credit created by banks is a substitute for the savings in financing the accumulation, therefore, the conditions under which the savings and investment mechanism evoked by the classic authors change. In the development there are banks that provide capital in exchange for an interest, and there are innovative entrepreneurs who use it. This means that the investment is not financed with savings but with bank credit, created “out of nothing” so in a first interpretation its volume seems to be unlimited. Implementation of innovation implies increased capital, new prices and the emergence of positive bank interest derived from equally positive profits for companies.

Resumen El objetivo del artículo es examinar, desde una perspectiva teórica, la incidencia de la tríada dinero-inversión-innovación en la teoría del desarrollo de Schumpeter. En comparación con el flujo circular, el desenvolvimiento implica la aparición de nuevos agentes y conceptos. El crédito creado por los bancos es un sustituto del ahorro en el financiamiento de la acumulación, por ende, cambian las condiciones bajo las cuales opera el mecanismo ahorro e inversión evocado por los autores clásicos. En el desenvolvimiento, hay bancos que aportan el capital a cambio de un interés y hay empresarios innovadores que lo emplean, esto significa que la inversión no se financia con ahorro sino con crédito bancario, creado “de la nada” por lo cual en una primera interpretación su volumen parece ser ilimitado. La implementación de la innovación implica un capital acrecentado, nuevos precios y el surgimiento de un interés bancario positivo derivado de las ganancias igualmente positivas para las empresas.

ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis of the interface is one of the forms of presentation of the degenerative processes to novel spine; It has a greater expression at the level of the spine. An x-ray of a 57-year-old male, mestizo patient is presented, who has a history of hip fracture 18 years ago and in which signs of interface osteoarthritis caused by the osteosynthesis material used during the surgical procedure are evident.

RESUMEN La osteoartritis interfacetaria es una de las formas de presentación de la enfermedad degenerativa en la columna vertebral. Se presenta la radiografía de un paciente masculino, mestizo, de 57 años de edad, con antecedentes de fractura de cadera 18 años atrás, por lo que fue sometido a intervención quirúrgica. Se halló evidencias de signos de osteoartrosis interfacetaria causada por el material de osteosíntesis empleado durante la intervención quirúrgica. Se indicaron antiinflamatorios no esteroideos y el reemplazo articular mediante prótesis de porcelana de la cadera derecha y se extrajeron las dos varillas colocadas en la cirugía previa. Se mantiene con tratamiento con antiinflamatorios y ha existido mejoría del dolor lumbar.

ABSTRACT Camptocormia is conceptualized as a rare disease that occurs in patients over 50 years of age and is characterized by the presence of osteomyoarticular involvement that makes it impossible to carry out activities of daily living. To present the clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic elements of camptocormia. 62-year-old male patient, who consults with clinical manifestations that, together with the results of laboratory examinations and imaging studies, lead to the diagnosis of camptocormia. Camptocormia is a disease that generates great disability; musculoskeletal disorders considerably limit the health-related quality of life of patients with this disease.

RESUMEN La camptocormia se define como una rara enfermedad que se presenta en pacientes mayores de 50 años y que se caracteriza por la afectación osteomioarticular que imposibilita realizar las actividades de la vida diaria. El propósito de este estudio es dar a conocer los elementos clínicos, diagnósticos y terapéuticos de la camptocormia. Se presenta el caso de un paciente masculino de 62 años de edad, que acude a consulta con manifestaciones clínicas y dolor. Al examen físico se observó un aumento de la cifosis dorsal con un predominio de la flexión lumbar que causa una inclinación hacia delante del tronco. Los exámenes de laboratorio y estudios imagenológicos permitieron llegar al diagnóstico de camptocormia. Se comenzó tratamiento con diclofenaco sódico en dosis de 100 mg diarios por vía oral durante 10 días y analgésicos. Se interconsultó el caso con el servicio de fisioterapia y rehabilitación para aplicar tratamiento rehabilitador. Esta es una enfermedad que genera gran discapacidad; los trastornos osteomusculares limitan considerablemente la calidad de vida relacionada con la salud de los pacientes.

SUMMARY: This work was conducted with the objective to evaluate the effect of vermicompost application on chemical characteristics, energetic parameters and amino acids profile of hybrid race corn grain cultivated under open-field and rained conditions. The experiment was accomplished under a randomized complete design with three repetitions. Three treatments were evaluated: 1) Maize after inoculation with a commercial mycorrhizal arbuscular fungi mixture (Tec Myc 60®) plus vermicompost (V+M); vermicompost (V) and chemical fertilization (CF). Starch content in grain was 1.9% higher in V+M treatment in comparison with chemical, whereas crude protein, ether extract, crude fiber, acid detergent fiber, neutral detergent fiber, total phosphorous and phytic phosphorous were not different between treatments. Energetic parameters were not different between three treatments. 17 amino acids were evaluated of wich only tryptophan, leucine, valine, histidine and aspartic acid were higher in CF and V treatments in comparison with V+M treatment. In conclusion, it is possible to cultivate maize using vermicompost as fertilizer because chemical characteristics, energetic parameters and amino acids profile in maize grain were not affected compared with the maize cultivated with vermicompost added with biofertilizers (V+M) or with corn cultivated with chemical fertilizers (CF).

RESUMEN: Este trabajo tuvo como objetivo evaluar el efecto de la aplicación de vermicomposta sobre las características químicas, parámetros energéticos y perfil de aminoácidos de híbridos de maíz bajo condiciones de campo y con lluvia de temporal. El diseño experimental fue completamente al azar con tres repeticiones. Se evaluaron tres tratamientos: 1) maíz después de inoculación con una mezcla de hongos micorrízicos arbusculares (Tec Myc 60®) más vermicomposta (V + M); vermicomposta (V) y fertilización química (CF). El contenido de almidón en los granos fue 1.9% más elevado en el tratamiento V+M en comparación con el tratamiento con fertilización química, mientras que la proteína cruda, extracto etéreo, fibra cruda, fibra detergente ácida, fibra detergente neutra, fósforo total y fósforo fítico no fueron diferentes entre los tratamientos. Los parámetros energéticos no fueron diferentes entre los tres tratamientos. De los 17 aminoácidos, solo triptófano, leucina, valina, histidina y ácido aspártico fueron más elevados en los tratamientos CF y V en comparación con V+M. En conclusión, es posible cultivar maíz usando vermicomposta como fertilizante porque las características químicas, parámetros energéticos y perfil de aminoácidos en los granos de maíz no son diferentes a los obtenidos en maíz cultivado con vermicomposta y biofertilizantes (V+M) o con maíz cultivado con fertilización química (CF).

Specific wear rates were calculated from a series of micro-scale abrasive tests by means of the calotte-grinding method. The tested material was a CrN coating deposited by arc evaporation on ion-nitrided AISI H13 steel. Characterizations included: phase analysis, chemical composition, metallography, microhardness, micro-scratch resistance and nano-indentation hardness. On wear testing, the counter body was a 30 mm diameter steel ball rotating at a tangential speed of 9.42 m/min and normal load of 0.54 N. The abrasive was a mono-crystalline diamond micro abrasive paste, 1 micrometer grit. Wear volumes were calculated by measuring the wear scars at various test intervals. In non-perforating tests, Archard's wear equation was directly employed for calculating coating wear rate as the slope of the linear least square data fit. In perforating tests, Allsopp's method was employed for the simultaneous determination of coating and substrate wear rates, from the slope and intercept values of the linear least square data fit. Coating specific wear rate values obtained from both non-perforating and perforating tests were very consistent, with a relative difference within 6%. Relative errors in specific wear rate values were estimated to be of the order of 0.05 for the coating and 0.2 for the substrate.

A rare blood group is usually defined as the absence of a high prevalence antigen or the absence of several antigens within a single blood group system. These individuals may develop clinically significant red cell antibodies to the high incidence red cell antigens they lack. A 33-year-old alloimmunized woman was referred to our center at the 12th week of her third pregnancy for evaluation and follow up. The laboratory work-up grouped her as belonging to "p" phenotype, associated with difficulties to find compatible blood for transfusion and a high incidence of recurrent miscarriage. At 36 weeks, a baby girl was born by induced labor due to fetal suffering. With a negative direct antiglobulin test but a positive elution test, she was in the neonatology ward for one week receiving luminotherapy. Homozygosity for a missense mutation at position 752 (c.752C > T) in the A4GALT gene was found to be responsible for the p phenotype. This mutation changes a proline to a leucine at codon 251 of the 4-α-galactosyltransferase. Recently, due to an imminent chirurgical intervention and the impossibility to have compatible blood available for transfusion, an autologous donation plan was designed to satisfy probable demand. This case showed the need for blood bank facilities capable to respond satisfactorily to these situations in Argentina. This would facilitate the storage of cryopreserved blood from individuals with rare blood groups for homologous use or to develop rare blood donors programs.

Un individuo con un fenotipo eritrocitario raro carece de uno o varios antígenos presentes en la mayor parte de la población de pertenencia. Cuando presenta el anticuerpo correspondiente, se pueden producir complicaciones perinatales, transfusionales y/o transplantológicas. Se presenta el caso de una embarazada aloinmunizada derivada a nuestro servicio en la semana 12 de su tercera gesta para su evaluación y seguimiento. El diagnóstico inmunohematológico le asignó el excepcional fenotipo "p" (aproximadamente 1/200 000 individuos), asociado con una mayor tasa de abortos espontáneos y a reacciones transfusionales graves cuando se transfunden unidades incompatibles. El estudio del gen A4GALT demostró la presencia de la mutación c.752C > T en doble dosis. Esta mutación lleva a un cambio de una prolina por una leucina en el residuo 251 de la 4-α-galactosiltransferasa. Por parto inducido por sufrimiento fetal, nace a las 36 semanas una bebé con prueba de antiglobulina (Coombs) directa negativa, eluido reactivo, con ictericia que requirió luminoterapia. Una semana después el neonato fue externado sin secuelas aparentes. Posteriormente, a raíz de una cirugía inminente y la improbabilidad de encontrar sangre compatible, se elaboró un plan para cubrir las posibles demandas. Este caso pone en evidencia la necesidad de contar a nivel nacional con un laboratorio de referencia de inmunohematología y un banco de sangre de grupos raros, que permita resolver con celeridad situaciones que requieran transfundir a estos individuos.

La patogénesis de los abortos espontáneos recurrentes es multifactorial; probablemente se debe a la interacción de varios factores ambientales y genéticos. El polimorfismo C677T del gen de la metiltetrahidrofolato reductasa (MTHFR), ha sido implicado como factor de riesgo para aborto espontáneo recurrente (AR). El objetivo de este trabajo fue investigar la asociación del polimorfismo C677T de la MTHFR como factor de riesgo en AR idiopático. Se analizaron 80 muestras de ADN, correspondientes a 30 mujeres con AR y a 50 mujeres controles. A través de la reacción en cadena de la polimerasa (PCR) se amplificó un fragmento de 198 pares de base (pb), el cual se sometió a digestión con la enzima de restricción HinfI, que reconoce el sitio de restricción creado por la transición C>T en la posición 677. La frecuencia alélica de la MTHFR en el grupo de estudio y control fue 35% y 33% respectivamente; para el alelo T y 65% y 67% respectivamente, para el alelo C. No se encontró diferencia significativa entre el alelo T ni el C al ser comparados en ambos grupos. No se demostró un factor predisponente entre el polimorfismo C677T de la MTHFR y el AR en la muestra estudiada.

The pathogenesis of recurrent spontaneous abortion is multifactorial, presumably involving the interaction of several genetic and environmental factors. The methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) gene C677T polymorphism has been implicated as risk factor for recurrent spontaneous abortion (RA). The main objective of this research was to investigate the association between the C677T polymorphism of the MTHFR gene as a genetic risk factor for idiopathic RA. Molecular analysis was performed in 80 DNA samples from 30 patients with RA and among 50 healthy control subjects. Using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), a 198 bp (bases pairs) fragment, was digested with the restriction enzyme HinfI, which can recognize the C > T substitution responsible for the polymorphism. 677T MTHFR allele frequencies for group with RA and the control group were 35% and 33%, respectively and 677C MTHFR allele frequencies were 65% and 67%, respectively. There was no significant difference in allele frequency between these two groups. The data presented in this study fail to support the relationship between MTHFR C677T polymorphism and risk in women with RA.

The objective of this work was to assess the effect of two arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) at different phosphorus concentrations on survival and growth of pineapple {Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) plantlets obtained for micropropagation. Plantlets were multiplied for in vitro cultures and were acclimatized under three sequential steps. The effects of AMF and phosphorus were not significant on plantlet survival and plantlet height, however Glomus claroideum stimulated that the plantlets were with higher leaves number and dry weight. The results demonstrated that plantlet growth was maximized with G claroideum and phosphorus 0.9 mM.

El objetivo del trabajo fue evaluar el efecto de dos hongos micorrízicos arbusculares (HMA) a diferentes concentraciones de fósforo sobre la sobrevivencia y el crecimiento de plántulas de pina {Ananas comosus (L.) Merr.) obtenidas por micropropagación. Las plántulas se multiplicaron masivamente en cultivos in vitro y se aclimataron gradualmente bajo un esquema de estrés por temperatura en tres etapas secuenciales. Los efectos de los HMA y el fósforo no fueron significativos sobre la sobrevivencia y la altura de las plántulas, sin embargo, Glomus claroideum estimuló que las plántulas tuvieran mayor número de hojas y peso seco. Los resultados sugieren que la altura de las plántulas fue mayor cuando fueron cultivadas con G. claroideum y 0,9 mM de fósforo.

En la región de Caborca, Oeste de Sonora, no existe un Precámbrico sedimentario Z cubriendo un único zócalo precámbrico como generalmente admitido. En cambio, se encuentran allí dos zonas tectónicas: la Zona San Luís y la Zona Caborca. La primera consiste de un zócalo de neises y granitos precámbricos atravesados por anortositas de 1.1 Ga y de la cubertera sedimentaria San Luis, sobre la cual ocurre una secuencia volcanosedimentaria del Jurásico Inferior. La Zona Caborca incluye el zócalo precámbrico Bamori de metamorfitas atravesadas por el granito pegmatítico Aibo de 1.1 Ga y la cubertera Gamuza. Hace 1.1 Ga las dos zonas estaban ampliamente separadas y han sido juxtapuestas por la Orogénesis Nevadiana. Ambas zonas son alóctonas y la Zona Caborca constituye una cobijadura (napa) arriba de la Zona San Luís. En las unidades basales de la cobertura Gamuza se descubrieron psamocorales y un posible Pterophyllum jageri (?). Por lo tanto su edad geologica es Paleozoica o Triásica. En la parte inferior de la cobertura San Luís se descubrieron Nematophites [Prototaxites (?) and Nematothallus] y en su parte superior Calcispongiae, semillas de Cardaicarpus, y Artisia. Se trata entonces de una unidad devonico-carbonífera. El area estudiada pertenece al Bloque "Baja-Borderland" que en el Eoceno sufrió una deriva hacia el Norte de aproximadamente 900 a 1000 km y una rotación de 30° a 40° con relación a la parte principal de Sonora.

In the Caborca region of western Sonora a Precambrian Z does not cover a unique Precambrian socle as previously believed. Two tectonic zones occur there instead : the San Luis Zone and the Caborca Zone. The first is comprised of the Precambrian San Luis socle of gneiss and granite, crossed by 1.1 Ga old anorthosites, the San Luis sedimentary cover, and, above it, a Lower Jurassic volcano-sedimentary sequence. The Caborca Zone consists of the Precambrian Bamori socle of parametamorphic rocks crossed by 1.1 Ga old Aibo granite, and of the Gamuza sedimentary cover. 1.1 Ga ago the two zones were far away from each other. They have been brought together by the Nevadian orogeny. Both zones are allochthonous, and the Caborca Zone is a nappe upon the San Luis Zone. The lowermost units of the Gamuza cover furnished psammocorals and a possible Pterophyllum jageri (?). Accordingly, its geological age is either Palaeozoic or Triassic.The San Luis cover furnished Nematophites [Prototaxites (?) and Nematothallus] from its lower part; Calcispongiae, Cardaicarpus' seeds, and Artisia from its upper part. Thus, it is a Devono-Carboniferous unit. The study area belongs in the « Baja-Borderland » block, which underwent, an Eocene northwards drifting of about 900 - 1000 km, and a 30° to 40° clockwise rotation relative to the main part of Sonora.

All the cells of the individuals with phenotypes "p" y "Pk" lack the glucidic antigens of "public" blood groups. These subjects form natural and regular antibodies against the missing structures (anti-P, anti-PP1 y anti-PP1Pk) that agglutínate or hemolyze the red-blood cells of every individual, excepting those with the same phenotype. Due to the exceptional character of these pictures (a few individuals per million) and their association with severe transfusional hemolytic reactions and repeated miscarriages, these subjects should be identified and characterized

Todas las células de los individuos con fenotipos "p" y "Pk" carecen de los antígenos glucídicos de grupo sanguíneo "públicos". Estos individuos forman anticuerpos "naturales" y "regulares" contra las estructuras faltantes (anti-P, anti-PP1 y anti-PP1Pk), que aglutinan y/o hemolisan los glóbulos rojos de todos los individuos, excepto aquellos con el mismo fenotipo. Por lo excepcional de estos cuadros (unos pocos individuos por millón) y su asociación con reacciones transfusionales hemolíticas graves y aborto espontáneo a repetición, estos individuos deben ser identificados y caracterizados
