Abstract Seismic data, borehole image logs, and conventional well logs were used to investigate the distribution and characteristics of paleokarst features in the Aptian carbonates of the Barra Velha Formation in a pilot area of the Santos Basin, Brazil. Multiple seismic attributes were used to enhance details on the seismic data and highlight key seismic parameters including strata deformation and geometry, continuity of seismic events, and fault patterns. The study found that karst structures are controlled by faults and fractures along structural highs, which served as a conduit for the flow of dynamic fluids that dissolved the carbonate materials. Several closed, circular depressions and bright spots identified in the northeastern portion of the study area represent possible sinkhole structures. Epigenic and hypogenic processes due to the action of meteoric water, hydrothermal activity, and intra-formation acidity along regional unconformities in the Barremian-Aptian may have been responsible for the dissolution. Limitations of this study are related to the difficulty of integrating multiple datasets with various scales. However, the higher confidence for the occurrence of the karst features is provided by borehole images at the sub-seismic scale. The findings of this study hold significant relevance for the strategic planning of energy development and carbon sequestration initiatives in the Brazilian continental margins, thereby aiding in informed decision-making. Este trabalho apresenta simulação de substituição de fluidos e estudo da modelagem AVO com a finalidade de caracterizar intervalos de arenito em um poço do Campo de Namorado. O estudo da simulação da substituição de fluido foi realizado com a substituição do óleo in s/tu por salmoura. A modelagem AVO simulou atributos que foram interpretados com o auxílio da amplitude e da análise de gráficos de dispersão cruzada, indicando anomalia AVO de Classe IV.

This work presents fluid substitution simulation and AVO modeling studies in order to characterize sandstone intervals of a well of Namorado field. The fluid substitution simulation study was done by saturating the sandstone with oil in situ then with brine water. The AVO modeling simulated attributes that were interpreted with the help of amplitude and crossplotting analyses, showing AVO anomalies of Class IV.

Este trabalho avalia a resolução sísmica vertical do reservatório turbidítico do Campo de Namorado, por meio da modelagem sísmica 1D utilizando o método da convolução. A wavelet escolhida foi a do tipo Ricker com freqüências de 20 hz, 35 hz e 50 hz. Os resultados obtidos determinam que as wavelets com freqüências de 35 hz e 50 hz apresentaram melhor resolução sísmica quando comparadas com as wavelets de 20 hz, porém todas as freqüências delimitaram topo e base do reservatório e em alguns poços foi possível identificar heterogeneidades internas. A partir do modelo de impedância acústica, obtido para a geração do sismograma sintético, foi possível, conhecendo a correlação dessa variável com as litologias do campo, determinar o modelo tridimensional da fácies reservatório. Para isso foi utilizada a análise geoestatística que possibilitou ainda a geração de cenários otimistas e pessimistas por meio da aplicação de métodos estocásticos.

The aim of this work is analyze the vertical seismic resolution of the turbidity reservoir of Namorado Field. In this work the seismic modeling was accomplished using the convolution method. The wavelet used was the Ricker type with dominant frequency of 20 hz, 35 hz and 50 hz. The results show that wavelet with frequencies of 35 hz and 50 hz have better seismic resolution than wavelets of 20 hz, however all frequencies delimit top and base of the reservoir. From the acoustic impedance model, obtained from the synthetic seismogram, was possible, knowing the correlation of this variable with reservoir rocks, determine the distribution of reservoir facies. For that was used the geostatistical analysis that still enabled the studies regarding to the scenarios analysis by means of the application of stochastic methods.
